“Where is she?”
Tyler isn’t sure if he’s ever felt this angry before. He considers himself a fairly easy going man, always quick to make light of a situation and put everyone in the room at ease with his charming, joking nature.
But this was different. This had his heart pounding, his ears ringing. His face is flushed red and he feels like he can hardly breathe.
All because of her.
He slams the door of his truck, approaching his crew in the gas station parking lot with a look on his face that’s so completely un-Tyler that it makes them all shift uneasily.
“Where’s…who?” Boone tries weakly, unsuccessful in his attempt to play dumb. Lily rolls her eyes and elbows him in the ribs, shooting him a glare.
Tyler clenches his jaw, for once not in the mood for his friends’ antics. “You know damn well who I’m talking about.”
They all exchange glances, his uncharacteristic demeanor both surprising and concerning. This isn’t the calm, charismatic frontman of the Tornado Wranglers they’re used to.
“She’s in the RV, but I don’t think-” Dani begins, but he’s already beelining for the camper before they can finish. He can hear his heartbeat pulsing in his ears as he nearly bursts through the door, finding her sitting at the small table in the back with her head in her hands.
Her gaze snaps up at the sound of his entrance into the RV, and her face immediately drops when she sees him practically fuming. “Tyler-” she says urgently, instantly on her feet as he approaches as if she’s about to defend herself. But he isn’t having any of it.
“You wanna tell me what the hell you were thinking out there?” He seethes, suddenly towering over her with his jaw clenched and hands on his hips. She swallows thickly, nervous around this version of him. Terrified to have upset him, disappointed him.
“Tyler, I promise, I was just trying to do the right thing-” she starts again, her tone practically pleading, but he just scoffs.
“The right thing?” He questions in disbelief, cutting her off with a shake of his head. “You call nearly getting yourself killed in the field ‘doing the right thing’?”
She squeezes her eyes shut at the reminder of what she’d done, at the venom in his voice that’s ordinarily so gentle when directed at her. Memories of what had transpired nearly 20 minutes ago flood her mind and she feels a lump forming in her throat.
“I couldn’t let our data get lost,” she whispers weakly, her gaze glued to the floor in shame. “Bullshit,” he mutters, jaw clenched as his breath picks up. His eyes search her face, grasping to understand why the hell she had risked her life the way she had.
“You don’t run into the path of an incoming EF3 to recover some stupid equipment for our disruption research,” he practically spits, his voice growing louder, more emotional.
“That equipment is completely replaceable. You sure as hell aren’t. So I want to know why on god’s green earth you thought it was a good idea to run headfirst into danger like that.”
Her breath hitches, her eyes welling up with unshed tears at the reminder of her brashness. She feels ashamed and almost embarrassed as Tyler practically berates her.
They were best friends, a pair that the rest of the team liked to call the “dynamic duo.” With a shared passion for tornadoes and a taste for danger, they had instantly clicked from the moment they met during a chase a few years ago, becoming inseparable. Which is why Tyler’s harsh reminder of her stupidity stung so painfully.
She wasn’t used to hearing him so upset, so emotional in the worst way. With her, his tone was always soft, teasing, sometimes so overtly flirty that it would leave her heart pounding and her cheeks flushed.
But this was different. Now his gaze was harsh, curses unnaturally tumbling from his lips as she struggled to explain herself. And she hated every moment of his scrutinizing stare.
“You’ve worked so hard on putting together the equipment for the disruption research. I didn’t want you to have to start from scratch…not after all the effort you went through,” she explains pathetically, her voice cracking slightly as her emotions begin to shine through.
Tyler shakes his head, stepping even closer into her space. “And you thought it was worth risking your life for?” He grits out, his furrowed brow and downturned lips looking so unnatural on his normally smiling face.
Another shuddering breath escapes her as she catches herself from revealing the true reason she’d been so careless, from baring her soul and telling him that she’d run into the path of an incoming tornado because she loved him more than anything. That the thought of his disappointed face, his devastation over months of work lost to an unpredictably large tornado, hurt her so much that she would have done anything to save that equipment.
Anything to make him happy, to be the hero that he was to her.
“I- I didn’t get hurt, I knew I had time to get at least some of it-” she stammers, but she can’t get the words out.
“You didn’t have time!” He practically yells, gripping her shoulders and giving her a gentle shake. His eyes are wide, his gaze burning as he stares down at her.
“If Boone hadn’t been close by with his truck, you could’ve easily not made it. You could’ve died,” he chokes out, his grip on her tightening. His eyes are watering now, his anger fizzling out into something more desperate, more panicked.
Tyler still remembers the pure, unadulterated fear he’d felt as she slipped out of the safety of his truck before he could stop her, sprinting out into the open field where the winds and torrential rain were getting worse by the second.
He remembers the devastated scream of her name that had ripped itself from his chest, lost to the howling winds.
He sure as hell can’t forget the feeling of overwhelming fear and helplessness that overtook him when the rain became so intense that he could not longer see her, no longer assure himself that she hadn’t been sucked up into the raging funnel or hurt by the flying debris.
It was only when he got radio confirmation from Boone five minutes later, stating that she was safe in their truck with some of the equipment intact, that he even knew she was alive.
It had been the most hopeless, terrifying five minutes of his life.
“Don’t you understand what you mean to everyone? What you mean to me?” He rasps, his voice quieter now, more broken. “Some stupid equipment for an experiment isn’t worth your life, Y/N. Not in the least.”
His eyes are tender now as they rake over her face, scanning the scrapes and cuts littering her cheeks, the patch of dried blood clinging to her temple. His heart aches at the thought of her getting hurt, even if the injuries are small.
She notices that nearly all of his anger has left his body, replaced by the emotion that had truly been brewing beneath the surface: crippling fear at the possibility of losing her.
A silent tear runs down her face at his softer, more vulnerable words, her heart breaking as she realizes the effect her thoughtless actions have had on the man she loves. He’s quick to gently wipe it away with the pad of his thumb, his touch lingering on her cheek as he gazes at her.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers, her voice breaking as she chokes back a sob. In an instant, he’s enveloping her in his tight, comforting hold, cradling her head to his chest and pulling her so close to him that their bodies are practically molded together.
“Shhh…it’s alright, sweetheart,” he gently hushes, his hand stroking through her hair as she cries softly against him. He’s back to himself now, all anger and frustration long abandoned in favor of his naturally calm, caring demeanor. Through her tears, she feels herself flushing slightly at his term of endearment.
“I’m the sorry one. I shouldn’t have yelled at ya, you didn’t deserve it,” he murmurs into her ear, his arms tightening around her.
He internally berates himself for defaulting to anger when she had also probably been scared and upset. But thinking she had died in that tornado just for attempting to recover his equipment had struck something so deep within him that his brain had reacted irrationally.
He stews in his remorse for a moment longer before admitting a truth that might be a little too vulnerable, a little too revealing of his deep and unwavering love for her, but he has to get it off his chest.
“…You just scared me half to death, darlin’. I can’t lose you...I can’t. It would tear me apart worse than a damn tornado ever could.” His whispered words are so raw and tinged with devastation that her breath hitches against his chest.
Slowly, she peels herself away from his comforting embrace to get a good look at him, and what she finds makes her heart clench in her chest.
His eyes are red and glassy, obvious signs that he’d been crying. His muscles are taught with anxiety, like every fiber in his body had been tense ever since she fled his truck. His hair is slightly tousled and she instantly knows he’d been running his hand through it the way he does when he’s stressed.
The thought that she could cause him this much worry, this much pain, sucks the breath from her lungs and makes her feel dizzy.
“I only tried to save the equipment because I knew how important the research was to you,” she whispers, her voice still shaky but full of sincerity.
“I know how much it means to you, finding a way to keep these tornadoes from causing so much damage to innocent lives. I just- I wanted to do something brave and selfless for you, the way you always have for me,” she admits softly, swallowing as she meets his gaze.
His lips part slightly at her admission, the reverence in her words staggering. Hearing that she cares for him, finds him brave and selfless, wants to return the way he makes her feel, fills his heart with a love so deep he feels like he’s drowning in it.
“Y/N, you’re-” he rasps, pausing to clear his throat when he hears how raw and weak his voice sounds.
“You’re so damn sweet. Your heart is so big. That’s what I love about you. But please, don’t be as stupid as me. I throw myself headfirst into danger so much because I don’t think first…my judgement gets clouded by the thought of helping someone and I get tunnel vision. Which has put me in one too many potentially life-ending scenarios,” he murmurs, his hands squeezing her slightly as they rest on her shoulders.
“I can’t- I won’t let you be that careless. You mean too much to me.”
Her eyes widen at the tenderness in his voice, the affection and worry dripping from every word. It feels like their conversation is breaching on something deeper, something much more vulnerable and terrifying.
Her mind is hung up on his soft that’s what I love about you. Even hearing the word love directed at her from the mouth of Tyler Owens makes her head spin and her face heat up, and she’s unsure if she’s even breathing anymore.
“Tyler…” she manages, her voice threatening to break with the overwhelming swirl of emotions running through her. She can’t help herself, knows that she’s finally going to put it out there, tell him how she feels no matter how scary it might be.
“I love-” his lips are on hers before she can even finish. The sensation of Tyler kissing her is unlike anything she’s ever felt, and she’s damn sure she never wants him to stop.
His large hand tenderly cups her cheek while the other snakes into her hair, tangling his fingers through the strands as he pulls her even closer. She gasps softly as his grip tightens, his lips moving against her own with an almost feral desperation.
The salt from her tears mixes with his sweet taste – something like honey and peppermint – and she melts further into him and his warmth. She can feel him pour every ounce of his turbulent, pent-up emotions into the kiss, and it leaves her completely breathless.
He’s waited for this moment for so long, and after thinking he’d lost her today, he’d be content to just kiss her like this for the rest of time. Reassuring himself that’s she’s still there, that she’s his. Showing her what she means to him.
Finally getting a grip on his emotions, Tyler pulls away for a moment, wanting to make sure he hasn’t misread the signs, misinterpreted what he’d felt brewing between them for so long.
But a wide, disbelieving grin spreads across her face as she fights to catch her breath, and he suddenly has no doubt that she’s been his all along.
“I’ve been waiting for that for- well, I don’t even know how long,” she laughs breathlessly, slightly woozy from his intoxicating taste.
He huffs a laugh in return, his eyes shining with an overwhelming adoration for the woman before him. “Yeah…I think Boone might owe Dexter and Lily some money,” he jokes softly, his thumb gently brushing her rain-soaked hair away from her face.
His eyes roam over her, taking in every inch of her muddy clothes, her scraped up hands, the shallow cut on her temple. Regret courses through him at the way he’d raised his voice at her, even if it had been out of fear of losing her.
“Are you sure you weren’t hurt?” He murmurs, his voice lower and more serious than before. She gently nods, her hand moving to rest on top of his own as it cups her face.
“I’m ok, promise. It’s just a little scrape from slipping in the mud,” she reassures him, sensing his lingering gaze on her slightly bloodied face. She can practically feel the apprehension in his stare, his constant worry for her well-being so endearing that she just wants to kiss him again and again.
“I promise, Ty. And I swear, I won’t do anything like that again. I just got lost in the moment and didn’t think before acting.” He nods slowly, letting the sincerity in her voice wash over her and comfort his racing mind.
“You’d better not,” he teases softly, a ghost of a smile pulling at his lips. “If we’re doing this thing, no more running headfirst into tornadoes, you hear? Can’t have my girl acting like an irrational daredevil like me. I’ve been told she’s smarter than that.”
She feels herself blushing as he calls her his girl, the title rolling off his tongue so naturally that it makes her heart skip a beat. Tyler watches as a hearty laugh escapes her and she leans into his touch, his own smile growing wider.
Suddenly nothing else has ever mattered beyond this moment of her in his arms, blushing and laughing like he’s the funniest damn man in the world.
“Ok, alright,” she giggles with feigned exasperation. “No more running into tornado paths, I swear. Wrangler’s honor. But you have to swear it too. You’re an adrenaline junkie and a trouble maker, even more than I am.”
He chuckles at her playful jab, his body feeling lighter than it has all day as he finally lets the tension within him fade. She’s safe, he tells himself over and over. She’s alive, she’s teasing him like she always does, and she’s got him smiling like a damn fool.
“Baby,” he mutters with that teasing glint in his eye, “you need to get my head checked if I ever run away from you and into a tornado. No man in his right mind would leave a gorgeous thing like you for some wind.”
Before she can reply to his ridiculous comment, he captures her lips once more with his own, relishing in the way she smiles against him as he pulls her closer.
This is all Tyler’s ever wanted - all he’s ever needed. Just her, safe and sound, loving him in all his flaws and worry for her.
If her running into that damn field led to this moment, this reality where she’s finally his, then so be it. He’s never been more grateful for a tornado.

“So you think I’m hot?” Pt. 2
Tyler Owens x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: After a chase gone wrong, you find your heart softening for Tyler when he comes to your aide.
Contents: in a tornado scene(bad writing lol), mild tornado-related injuries, some blood, kinda gore(?), swearing, fluff
A/N: Everyone say thank you to @thetorturedpoetcalleddez here’s part two for you guys! Enjoy and read part one here!!!
“Y/N, do you have a reading?” Javi asks you from the front of the truck.
You’re currently in the back trying to get the remote to open the canisters of Kate’s “miracle tornado stopper” to work. The tornado in front of the truck is getting closer, wins, picking up its pace. And of course, when you actually need it to work, it doesn’t.
“No, I think a wire in the remote is loose,” you tell him.
“I’ll go open them manually,” Kate tells you.
“No,” you tell her. “I’ll do it. I’m faster than you anyway.”
Kate chuckles before rotating in her seat to watch you hop out of the truck.
Once you’re in the storm, you rushed to trailer Javi has attached to the truck and begin to open the large drum canisters one by one. Your palms are sweaty and handshaking, but you reach the last canister and pry it open. You unhook the trailer just as planned and smile before running back to the back passenger door. You turn your head and that’s when you see the tornado about to hit the truck.
“Go, go, go!” You tell Javi who then begins flooring the truck to the left, toward the field and away from the tornado. But it’s no use, the tornado has a mind of its own and follows the truck.
“Javi!” Kate screams. “Faster!”
“I’m trying!” He yells back.
“Oh my god,” you start. The tornado is right on the heels of the truck and you know what’s coming. “Hold on to something!”
In a span of a few second, the truck turns right and you feel the tornado push and suck you all up and then down.
The world starts spinning now. Flashes of grass then sky and back to grass. Then finally, the truck is upright and all you hear is someone screaming.
Not someone.
Kate.
“Y/N!” Kate screams. “Are you okay?”
You blink and look to the front of the truck to see Kate’s brown eyes wide and looking at your lap then Javi’s panicked expression.
When you look down at your leg, you find a large piece of shattered glass poking out.
“Don’t move,” Javi orders. “Kate, get back there and make sure her leg and that piece of glass are stable.”
Kate does so, hands shaking as she tries her best to keep the glass from moving while Javi drives.
“You’re gonna be okay,” she tells you.
“I can’t feel the pain,” you tell her.
“It must be the adrenaline,” she tells you. “What a freak accident. I wonder why only your window broke.”
You scoff. “Mother Nature must’ve been pissed off I opened those canisters.”
Kate offers you a watery smile before turning to Javi, “Did you have to drive on the bumpiest road?”
“This is the only one that’ll get her back to camp the quickest,” he tells you. “Just be glad the truck works.”
By the time Javi pulls into the base camp parking lot, the adrenaline has worn off and you’re grinding your teeth to keep from screaming in pain.
“Okay imma open the door to grab Y/N’s arms and Kate you’re gonna hold her legs,” Javi instructs.
Kate nods and just as he’d planned, he opens the door and grabs your arms while Kate holds your legs. You yelp in pain at her touch causing her to apologize and look to her left.
You follow her gaze to see Tyler standing on his truck and waving to the crowd of people around him. He smiles at everyone around him before his eyes land on you. Immediately, the smile drops and he’s hopping off his truck and running toward you.
“Let me hold her,” he tells Javi and Kate. He, however, doesn’t let them agree. He simply carries you bridal-style, and begins walking toward the medic camp. “What happened?”
“A tornado, dipshit,” you seethe.
He smiles at you. “It’s nice to know you still have your sass.”
“Fuck off, Tyler,” you groan. Yelping in pain when he sets you down on a table before the doctor.
“Our car rolled and her window broke,” Kate tells Tyler and the doctor. “We got her here as fast as we could.”
“We didn’t want to pull it out just in case it hit a major artery,” Javi adds.
“You did the right thing,” the doctor tells them. “She’s lucky, though. The glass barely missed the femoral artery.”
“So then can you take it out?” You moan. “This shit hurts.”
He smiles at you before nodding and grabbing a vial of something as well as a needle. “This is just for the pain. It’ll numb the area and then we can get it out.”
When he injects the liquid into your thigh, you instinctively reach for the hand next to yours. You squeeze the raspy surface and close your eyes tight.
The hand squeezes back and you hear Tyler say, “I’ll be here the whole time.”
You would pull your hand back, but you kind of liked the way his other hand caresses the top of yours.
“Okay, it’s out,” the doctor tells you. “Now, I’m just going to stitch it and then wrap the wound and you’ll be good to go.”
“Thank you,” Tyler says. Then to Kate and Javi, “I can take her back to her room. You guys go get the truck fixed.”
Kate looks to you and you nod, silently telling her it’s alright. She sighs before saying, “Alright, let’s go Javi.”
When they walk out, Tyler sit behind you on the table and wraps his other arm around you. “I figured you’d like it better if I hugged you while you got your stitches.”
The doctor smiles before saying, “Your boyfriend is very thoughtful.”
You were about to tell him that you two weren’t dating but Tyler interrupts before smiling.
“Yeah, I couldn’t let my girl sit here in pain.”
You almost roll your eyes but that’s when the doctor begins stitching making you squeeze Tyler’s hand again. In your ear, Tyler whispers small praises “You’re doing great.”
“Almost done,” the doctor tells you before adding one more stitch and grabbing some gauze to wrap your leg. Once he finished, he turns to Tyler and says, “Make sure she changes her bandages twice a day. Once in the morning and then right before bed. If the stitches rip, bring her back and I’ll redo them. I’ll get some crutches.”
When he leaves the tent to go get them, Tyler stands, leaving your back slightly cool at the absence of his touch.
“See,” he starts. “You’re gonna be fine. And I’ll be here to nurse you back to health.”
You only sigh. “Fine.”
“That’s it? No sassy comeback?” Tyler’s brows are practically in his hairline at this point and you can’t help but chuckle.
“Yeah, I’m in too much pain to sass right now.”
The doctor walks back in and hands, Tyler, the crutches as well as a bottle of painkillers. “She’s only allowed two per day.”
“Thank you so much, doc,” Tyler says. Before handing you a pill and the crutches and saying, “I’ll carry you today but tomorrow I want you to practice using the crutches.”
“Okay, babe,” you say with an eye roll. Swallowing the pill immediately.
You grab the crutches from him and almost gasp when Tyler carries you bridal style again. You didn’t notice how easily he lifted you before and for some reason, that did things for you.
Heart racing, hand clammy, and cheeks turning red kind of things.
Tyler walks in silence, soaking in the sunlight. It feels like he’d been walking for a while and you suddenly feel the need to speak.
You clear your throat before saying, “My room number is—”
“I know what number it is,” he says quietly.
“How? Did you stalk me?” You smirk.
“No,” he starts. Then smiling down at you adds, “But Boone did.”
You roll your eyes and shake your head. “Of course he did. I assume he did it for you?”
“Well yeah,” he says. “I wanted to apologize for the night before. I didn’t mean to sound like such a dickhead.”
You blink. Tyler has never apologized to you for any of his comments. This was refreshingly new and interesting.
“I just wanted to make you smile,” he continues. “You always smile at Boone and I guess I felt left out. I always get the short end of the stick with you.”
“And here I thought you liked it when I roll my eyes at you,” you tease.
“Did you just flirt with me?” Tyler smiles.
You smile back, a genuine one. “Maybe. Or maybe it’s the painkillers.”
“I think it’s the pain killers bringing out your true feelings,” he shrugs.
Once he reaches your door, you hand him the key. He opens the door, carrying you to the bed and setting you down as gently as he can.
“Well, I hope you recover quickly,” he says, turning to leave.
You stop him, grabbing his hand before he can get too far.
“Stay,” you urge. “I don’t want to be alone right now.”
“I’m sure Kate or Javi can come over.”
“But, I want you to stay.”
Tyler smiles. “I thought you didn’t like me.”
“Who said I didn’t?”
“Your face does every time I come around,” he chuckles.
“Nahhhh,” you slur. “I actually reallllly like you. I think your ego keeps you from being better. And you smell nice.”
“That’s definitely the painkillers talking,” he laughs.
“Nooope,” you go on. “Just bringing out the truth again.”
“Oh really?”
“Mhmm.” You nod.
“So I’m hot and I smell nice?” He smiles.
“Don’t push your luck, Owens.”

Mothers Day
Spencer Reid x Reader
As the newest member of the team, everyone is shocked by your boldness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone knew not to trespass when Las Vegas or Mental illness was a factor in the case. Everyone but you, apparently. By chance, the team's last case to Vegas was two months before your hire. Now, you were making very dangerous strides around a very delicate subject. The Unsub was suspected to be a man on a psychotic break and had begun devolving before the team had even been called in. Ever the overtly ambitious profiler you wanted to follow Spencer Reid for his ultra-secret contact.
"He prefers to go alone." My eyes met the dark brown hand on my bicep
"We really shouldn't be going places alone. You know the FBI minted the buddy system?" I shook him off
"I know, baby girl, but this is delicate. You just gotta leave it alone."
"Derek, you, of all people, should be aware of my incessant control problems."
"I have to agree with Morgan. This is something you need to let be."
"But you know I can't. Doctor Reid!" I darted off after him. He was tense, like the way people get when they hear a tornado siren and have to put themselves in their basement or put a mattress over their bathtub. He was preparing for disaster. "I truly believe it would be beneficial if I were to go with you."
"Would it be benefitting the case or your psyche?" He prods
"Well, both and neither." I readjust my little rectangular glasses, "As you know, I'm extraneously protective, to a fault. Also, I am working on my doctorate in psychology and I'm writing a dissertation on noncommutative disorder clusters. And I'm comfortable around disorders. Actually, I find it strange that when we talk about OCD, we call it a 'disorder' when people just like things organized in a particular manner." I snort to punctuate my rambling, but he only grits his jaw. "Aw man, that joke usually kills in my schizoid heredity focus group." He sighs as he tugs his satchel on.
"You need to stay quiet and low profile." He orders, and I know my dorky smile splits my face. He leads me to a big black SUV, where I take the driver's seat. He gives me directions, leading me from the way through town street and down some scary back roads. Eventually, we pass a sign that reads Bennington Sanitarium. He tells me to turn left, and we park in the back of the parking lot. He tells me to leave my gun in the car, and I follow him with my head down.
"So, who's this ultra-secret contact you have?" His stress seemed to triple, "Some fancy professor from Caltech?" He's being intentionally nebulous, I'm aware but there's some fun in playing nosy-cop.
"No, it's not someone who worked at Caltech."
"Oh, but a professor? Where'd they work, Burkley? Or maybe some school in Vegas. Let's see, there are not that many high-profile universities in Vegas."
"No, she hasn't worked in years." His voice sharpens in frustration, so I back down, readjusting my glasses, and licking the corner of my lips. We enter and a receptionist recognizes Spencer immediately with a big smile.
"Dr. Reid how lovely to see you. Have you come to visit your mother? She'll be ecstatic. It's been far too long." Oh, like mother like son. She must be a psychiatrist. I smile softly at the notion. It will be so interesting to see who and where Spencer came from.
"Thank you, Sheryl, how has she been."
"Well, she has her day, but mostly, she just reads. You know the book club started a new series." Sherly playfully brushes his arm and giggles.
"That's good."
"She should have just gotten out of therapy." Sheryl smiles and rakes her eyes over the young doctor. Finally, she makes eye contact with me.
"Oh well, you're new," she cheers in a vaguely Midwestern accent. You'll need a visitor's pass, hon." She gets one from a drawer and hands it to me. "So, do you work at the FBI, too, or are you coming to meet the in-laws?"
"I'm an agent," I laugh. If I were lucky enough to snag him, that would be an HR nightmare." Playfully, I pat his chest. He guffaws dryly as I slide the plastic lanyard around my neck.
Spencer leads me through the building, mostly there are elderly people playing chess or using oil pastels as nurses and orderlies orbit them. He leads me through a large living room past an Asian woman knitting. We find a woman with blonde hair biting her nails on the couch as she ponders something.
"Hi, Mom," He warbles. There's an extra beat between his greeting and her response. It's like she snaps out of a trance when she sees her son.
"Spencer, honey, what are you doing here?"
"Me and my frie-"
"Oh my goodness, thank whatever deities you deny the existence of; you're finally giving me some grandchildren."
"No, Mom, this is my coworker Agent (L/n). She and I just have some questions for you regarding our case."
"Well, at least sit down." She pats the space next to her, and Spencer obeys, "You too, young lady."
"Yes, ma'am." I take the only spot right next to him, and Spencer begins rattling off questions while his mom sits there with her hand under her nose. She sits and observes Spencer like no one at the BAU does. When he finishes contextualizing the case with her she stews on every word like his voice is her favorite song.
"So our first question for you is, uh (Y/n), you might be better at asking." He makes the wringing motion of cracking his knuckles, but no sound comes out.
"Um, mostly, the bureau is interested in the capabilities of delusion to overlap reality. When you are having an episode, do you recognize the difference between your actions and your perceptions?" I retrieve a legal pad and a fountain pen and click it theatrically. Diana keeps her hand over her mouth and inhales longingly through her nose. She points at me but doesn't look at me.
"You're a very smart young woman," She locks her eyes on me, "I'll answer your questions if you answer mine."
"Of course, wagers are the drug of choice in Vegas, well that and alcohol and mostly any other drug you can think of." I correct myself
"God, you're so much like him." She looks to her son."Why aren't you dating my Spencer?"
"Uh," is all that dumbly spills from my mouth.
"You two seem perfectly suitable for each other. Is it because he's so skinny?"
"No,"
"Well, he's incredibly handsome and talented; even a pigeon could see he's intelligent beyond a lexicon." She rambles
"Mom, I think that's enough."
"Spencer, you haven't visited me in over a year, and how do you believe that's any way to speak to your mother." She reprimands me. Had the information not shocked me, I would have giggled.
"Spencer, over a year?!" I swat his arm, "You've had time off. Why wouldn't you come to visit?"
"Oh well, I've still gotten my daily letters," she pouts. But it's been too long, and I'm getting old." She begins to bat her eyelashes, and she holds onto his arm.
"I'm trying, Mom," he whined
"To visit or to get me some grandkids?" she sasses
"Mom," He groaned, and I couldn't help the giggle that escaped my lips.
"What about you, young lady? Do you have any kids??"
"No, ma'am."
"Why not?" I could see where Spencer gets his tunnel thinking.
"My career has made it difficult to go out on dates and fall in love," I admitted it was almost like Diana could extract the truth from me
"Well, then, date my Spencer."
"Mom!" he protested
"Shh! It's a win-win: I get grandbabies, you get dates, and neither of your careers gets in the way." I meant to retaliate, but her infallible logic knocked all the fire out of me.
"Let's finish up this interview and solve this case then we can circle back." I mitigated
Two days later, the case was solved, and we were riding the jet back to Virginia. Everyone had filed off the plane but Spencer and I.
"So, do you have any plans tonight?" It threw me further off guard than Diana.
"I was just gonna turn on Real Housewives reruns and cuddle cannoli." It was how I spent most nights.
"Would you object to a date?"
"Tonight?"
"We could watch the Real Housewives and hang out with your cat??"
"You want to do that?"
"It sounds much better than sweating in an overpriced Italian restaurant." He laughs and rings his knuckles
"it does, I think I have NBC, we could watch Star Trek after." I offer as we walk from the landing strip to the BAU. We made a sojourn at his home so he could shower and put on comfortable clothes. Two years later it would be cannoli to ring bear your wedding. Spencer would have to credit his mother who walked you both down the aisle simultaneously for your relationship and the whole team would have to agree.

So I am on my third rewatch of Twisters. So here are some of my own personal headcanons and theories for the movie and some parallels that may add weight to those theories.
Tumblr media
1. The original 5 friend group dynamic: Jeb and Praveen have known each other for years and are each others best friend. Javi and Kate are the dynamic duo (basing it on the fact that they were the only ones to do the handshake together). And Addy is everyone's little sister. Her and Kate were extremely close, but in a different way than her friendship with Javi.
2. Tyler Owens is the nephew of Bill and Jo on Bill's side (As we knew Jo didn't have any sibling). He spent his summers with them as a kid, and then as a teenager, he moved in with them full time. He started chasing with them around then, too. He even pays homage to that as he is driving a newer model of Bill's red dodge ram.
3. Boone and Lily have something going on. The way Boone screams her name as she gets picked up by the wind. And their personalities are perfect together. You can't convince me otherwise.
4. Kate and Tyler kiss in the truck after the chase they go on straight from the airport at the end of the movie. (Refer to point 8)
5. Kate puts in her resignation almost immediately, and Javi cuts ties with Riggs and Scott. The wranglers and Kate join StormPAR. Kate and Tyler spend the off-season working with Javi while the others do their own gigs, but during the storm season, they are all chasing and gathering data.
6. Cathy is so encouraging of her daughter because she's been through loss before. They called her Mrs. Carter, meaning she was married. Kate's dad died when Kate was a little girl. Cathy had to learn how to navigate being a young mom and tending a farm on her own. But she also knows that it could stop her from living her life. So she didn't. She grieved, and she learned to live with the grief and still do what she loves. It's why she is so encouraging of Kate getting back out there.
7. Kate stayed in OK for another couple of weeks after the tornado (neither her nor Tyler appeared injured in the final scene, and the truck looks great, all things considered, so clearly they had time tp heal and fix the truck.) They all were forcibly invited back to the farm by Cathy after Tyler and the wranglers went to drop Kate off post El Reno. Cathy took one look at Tyler and forced him in the house. Kate gave herself a headache from laughing so hard. She was then sent inside alongside him. Cathy made everyone stay for as long as they needed. But she did, however, get some free labour from it. It was an unspoken agreement that Kate's was now home base.
8. By the credit scenes, Kate and Tyler are together. Their first kiss was immediately after the two of them went chasing from the airport. Something about their adrenaline rushing, and it being just the two of them. It was electric. It was immediate. It just happened, and when they pulled back, they both started laughing. It reminded him of the first time they chased together, just the two of them. Kate delayed her flight for another two days. She was back home within the month. Tyler quickly realised he would have to start bribing Boone afterwards on the days he and Kate went out.
9. Kate and Boone will play card games at night to see who gets shotgun the next day, when Boone isn't riding with Lily, of course. Turns out, Kate's damn good at playing poker. On the rare occasion that Kate drives, Boone automatically hops in the back of the truck. He won't tell anyone, but he loves it when she drives. She gets this manic energy about her in the drivers seat and his adrenaline always ends up pumping. Tyler loves it, too, but he has no qualms verbalizing his affections toward her.
10. Tyler has nightmares now. Of watching Kate drive into the tornado. Of finding her body, discarded and broken by his truck. Of her slipping through his fingers during a storm. He wakes up sweating and panicking. And it's only when he sees her that he can calm himself down. The two of them, those first two weeks after El Reno, would spend hours each night, sitting in the barn, going over formulas. Or sitting outside on the tree swing, talking until they were both too exhausted to have any nightmares. When she left to go back to New York, she wasn't particularly surprised when one night she awoke to her phone ringing, Tyler close to having a full blown panic attack as he tried and failed to reassure himself that she was okay without her help. They would always call each other before bed after that, usually falling asleep over facetime.

Tyler Owens x OC
Summary: In which Riley Owens, the ex-wife of the infamous Tornado Wrangler, has 36 hours to come to terms if moving to a whole new country with their small daughter is something she truly wants to do.
Warnings: Cursing, angst, suggested smut, fluff.

“Darling, I don’t understand why he’s making you come to him when he’s perfectly capable of flying out to see her. Is he afraid he’s going to miss a gust of wind and all his little cronies on the internet will stop following his every move?” My mother’s frustration was palpable, her voice cutting through the hum of the car engine.
I stayed silent, the roar of the car on the two-lane road answering in my place. My mother’s loud sigh sounded through the speakers; a noise filled with years of pent-up exasperation. “I’ve never seen a man so self-centered as that one – going around chasing tornados like some kind of deranged jackass.”
An innocent chuckle sounded from the seat behind me. I glanced in the rearview mirror to see Caroline’s little hands folded in front of her face, her bright eyes staring out the window at the passing scenery. The sight of her brought a small smile to my lips, even as my mother’s words lingered in the air.
“Mom, it’s just how he is,” I finally said, my voice tinged with resignation. “Tyler’s always been about the thrill, the excitement. He’s never been one for settling down or thinking about anyone else’s needs.”
“And yet, here you are, always the one making the effort,” she replied, her tone softening slightly. “It’s just not fair to you or to Caroline. She deserves to have her father in her life, not just in fleeting moments when it suits him.”
I leaned my head into the headrest, feeling the weight of the conversation starting to drain me. “Yeah, well, that’s the way we decided, and it’s worked so far,” I replied, my voice lacking its usual conviction.
Mom’s response was immediate, her concern piercing through the speakers. “Well, are you going to tell him that this might be the last time he gets to see her for a while? You have to let him know about your promotion – you can’t just drop that you’re moving to another country with the man’s child over the phone or in a message, Riley.”
I sighed deeply, frustration washing over me. “I know, Mom. It’s just... complicated. Tyler’s never been good with this kind of news. He’ll probably accuse me of trying to take Caroline away from him, even though he’s the one who’s always too busy to be around.”
Mom stayed silent for a moment; her pause filled with unspoken thoughts. “Well, it’s his loss anyway,” she finally said, her voice matter of fact. “I know of plenty of children that grew up without a father and they are doin—”
“Tyler’s always gonna be in Caroline’s life, Mom,” I interrupted, my voice raising just a bit, careful not to get too loud in front of my daughter. “I would never take her away from him – no matter how far away we are from each other.”
My mother sighed on the other end. “I’m just looking out for my granddaughter is all.”
“And I appreciate that, but this is between Tyler and me – not you or anyone else I’m sure you’re gonna blab to.”
My mother huffed on the other end, clearly taken aback by my bluntness. “Riley, I’m only trying to help. You know how much I care about you and Caroline.”
“I know, Mom,” I said, rubbing my temple as I tried to keep my frustration in check. “But I need to handle this my way. Tyler and I need to figure this out ourselves.”
“Fine,” she relented, though her tone still carried a hint of disapproval. “Just promise me you’ll keep me updated.”
“I will,” I assured her. “I’ll call you later, okay?”
“Don’t forge-,” The call ending before she could finish the sentence.
The car returned to a peaceful state – the only sound heard being that of the show playing on the monitor built into the driver’s seat. The same cartoon that Caroline had been watching for the past two months. Her laughter and the occasional gasp of excitement were the background music to my thoughts as I navigated the familiar streets.
“There’s Daddy’s sign!” Caroline’s voice pierced through my reverie, her little finger pointing eagerly at the familiar landmark.
The fueling station’s parking lot was filled with vehicles that strived to get on the same level as Tyler – the amateurs were always my favorite to watch – trying so hard to get to his attention but backing down once the storm got too close for comfort. Most of them just crowded around him and the gang to witness the spectacle that they displayed. Tyler was the Tornado Wrangler – a title that nearly cost him his life on multiple occasions and demolished our marriage in an F4 fashion.
Tyler’s passion for chasing storms had always been a point of contention between us. The danger, the unpredictability, the constant threat – it was a lifestyle I could never fully accept. And yet, here I was, bringing Caroline to see her father, the man who danced with tornadoes and lived to tell the tale.
I slowly pulled behind a group of professional vehicles, a far cry from noticeable red truck that sat feet away as the man of the hour towered over those in attendance – Boone and Dani passing out t-shirts to those around.
Caroline’s smile never faltering as she kept her eyes on her father, “Daddy’s being silly.”
I couldn’t help but smile at her reaction – a reaction only Tyler could evoke. “Daddy’s always silly, isn’t he?” Her head nodded enthusiastically. I placed the car in park and started gathering my purse, the sound of Caroline’s car seat buckles clanging as she hastily unbuckled herself. “Hold your horses, munchkin.”
She was already halfway out of her seat, her small hands fumbling with the door handle. Her excitement was infectious, and despite my reservations about Tyler’s lifestyle, moments like these made it all seem worth it. I took a deep breath and stepped out of the car, the warm summer air wrapping around us.
Caroline bounced out of the car, her eyes wide with anticipation. She grabbed my hand, pulling me towards the crowd where Tyler was still holding court. Boone and Dani noticing us first, their faces breaking into welcoming smiles. It had been over a year since I had seen them in person, their kindness towards me never faltering even after the divorce was finalized.
“If you feel it—” Tyler’s bright smile beamed out to the audience, a real showman.
“Chase it!” The crowd shouted back, including the four-year-old at my side, catching her father’s attention in a matter of seconds.
I watched as he hopped down from the truck, the sea of onlookers parting like the Red Sea as his arms wrapped around her small body.
Caroline squealed with delight as Tyler lifted her into the air, spinning her around before pulling her close for a tight hug. Her laughter echoed through the parking lot, a sound so pure and joyous that it made everything else fade into the background.
"There's my little storm chaser," Tyler said, his voice filled with warmth. He gently set her down, and she looked up at him with wide, excited eyes. "Did you have a good flight?"
Caroline's head nodded excitedly. "Mommy yelled at the man sitting behind us because he kept hitting the back of her seat," she blurted out, her eyes wide with innocence. Tyler chuckled, glancing at me with a raised eyebrow. "Is that so?"
I sighed, a bit embarrassed, but unable to suppress a smile. "Well, he was being rude." My shoulders shrugged. "Someone had to put him in his place."
Tyler shook his head, the smile I had fallen for years ago plastered on his scruffed face. "Riled up Riley," he teased, his eyes connecting with mine. "Glad you're sharing that with others and not just me."
I rolled my eyes playfully but couldn't help the warmth that spread through me at his words. "You know me, always fighting the good fight."
Tyler nodded, his gaze lingering on Caroline for a moment before he turned back to me. "Thanks for bringing her out here."
"No problem," I said, watching as Caroline laid her head on his shoulder, her tiny fingers gripping his shirt. "She’s been talking about it all week – about drove me crazy, to be honest." We both chuckled, sharing a moment of amusement.
Tyler's eyes softened as he looked down at Caroline, who was now playing with the collar of his shirt. "I'm glad she's excited. I’ve missed her so much." He gently kissed the top of her head, and she giggled softly.
“She missed you too," I said, my voice quiet but filled with emotion.
The unavoidable conversation of Caroline and I leaving the US for dreary old England was pushed to the wayside for the moment. This was Tyler’s moment with her – I didn’t want to ruin it before it truly even started.

you'd let it slip that one time, when he called you at the time of day he usually does to check in, you'd let it go to voicemail just to be able to save it and conjure up his voice whenever you pleased while he was away.
"i don't have any voicemails of you," nanami had said with a troubled look on his face, and you'd found it so charming that you had to lean in and kiss him.
you'd shrugged, giving him a small, grateful smile. "you always answer when i call, kento."
you know him well enough to understand his logic; he'd never miss any of your calls, even when he's working (you were the only person allowed to contact him past his phone's 'Do Not Disturb' feature) - he couldn't ever risk missing it when you needed him, and you wouldn't think to disturb him for trivial things either.
of course your answer doesn't satisfy him, and you can almost see the cogs turning in his brain. you can't help but laugh a little, kissing his frown away and changing the subject to save him from the stress.
the next day, at that time he usually calls during his break, he receives an ominous text from you.
don't call. and don't answer, i'm leaving you a present.
he worries immediately, but another text pops up once you see he's read it.
don't worry! you'll ruin the surprise! i love you ❤️
nanami tries his best, but he can't help it. instances of something going terribly wrong concerning you and him not being able to reach you in time flood his brain and nearly make him lightheaded. he does as you ask and doesn't answer when your contact pops up on the screen, his self-control waning quickly the longer he sees your photo.
he doesn't know how long he stares at the screen, even when his phone stops ringing.
and then, just a minute later, a notification for a new voicemail pops up, and the tornado of worries in his brain grinds to a halt when everything suddenly clicks, and he's reminded of the short, perplexing conversation you'd had the day prior.
and he feels a little silly.
you pick up on the first ring, as if you were expecting his call.
"my love," you greet, and even though the audio on his phone doesn't do your sweet voice justice, it soothes his heart all the same. "you're not gonna listen to it?" he can tell you're smiling, playful and lovely.
"i'll save it for my way home from work."
"hmm, how do you know it wasn't something naughty, then? what if you start blushing on the train, and everyone notices?"
"darling-" he starts, but uncharacteristically doesn't have a follow-up. he knows no one on his commute cares enough about anything else at that time other than coming home as soon as possible, much like himself, but he lets you have that, if it'll make you giggle like you are now. your laugh is deeply precious to him.
"i can just imagine it - but i wouldn't wanna ever miss seeing you blush." oh, he knows, and has suffered your inappropriate whispers in public just to get a reaction out of him nearly enough to get used to it. nearly. "are you blushing now?"
"no," nanami lies easily, heat crawling up his neck in that oddly pleasant way only you can seem to bring out of him.
you laugh just as easily, see through him just like that, as if he's right in front of you.
"i'm glad you didn't listen to me and still called," you say softly, traces of your sweet laughter still lingering in your tone. "i wanted to hear your voice, too."
nanami hums, doesn't tell you that that makes him smile way too wide for him having lunch alone. he tries to tone it down in case gojo somehow happens to stumble upon his carefully chosen, secluded spot.
"i miss you," you sigh, as if you hadn't seen him this morning and kissed him until he was almost late, like you usually do.
"i miss you, too, darling," he replies just as sincerely, as if he wasn't seeing you in just a few short hours and wasn't planning on holding you until you begged him to let you go so you could get dinner together, like he usually does.
"enjoy your break, handsome." the corner of his lip always twitches up when you call him that. "come home safe."
"of course. i love you."
"love you more!"
nanami knows that if he argues that, like he really wants to every time, you'd be too stubborn to let him win. so he just chuckles and lets you hang up.
despite what you'd teased him about, he does listen to your message on the train. and he does start smiling like a madman, his entire face glowing, lighting up with it, but he can't find it in himself to be embarrassed about it when he's hearing your voice and he's only a few short minutes away from having you in his arms again.
"hi, handsome. i had to think carefully about how to get you to not answer your phone, but it didn't end up being that creative, huh?" you breathe a soft laugh, the gentle cadence of it carrying into your sweet voice. "anyway, here's your obligatory voicemail from me. i'm just kidding - i thought about it, and you looked so sad about it that i just had to make one. you know i'd do anything to make you happy, right? it's only fair, with how happy you make me, too... i hope this will suffice, i didn't really have anything special to say except that i think about you so much it's becoming quite concerning, and i love you so much i feel like i'm going crazy, slowly but surely. look what you do to me!... um, oh- i'm gonna run out of time soon! i can't wait to leave you a million more of these, it's almost as fun as listening to yours... actually, i'll tell you a little secret: i listen to yours every day when i'm missing you most, which is usually right after you leave for work. sometimes i wish you'd come right back even though it's a little ridiculous. um, anyway, i'll think of a more creative way to trick you next time. come back safely, i miss you terribly... i love you more than you know, kento."

can't take the home out of oklahoma - i. (k.c.)
a/n: eeee! a fever dream later, i've finally cobbled together the first part of my top gun: maverick and twisters crossover fic! it's going to be lengthy so we are in for quite the ride! it's way heavier on twisters, so any non-top gun fans should have no problem reading this. future parts will deal with darker content that's only referenced right now, so that'll all be tagged and marked accordingly. for now, it's just my standard cup of angst. reblog and comments are always appreciated!!
summary: After a twisted stroke of luck, you leave behind your whole life in San Diego, California and find yourself in Oklahoma with Tyler Owens and his Tornado Wranglers.
warnings: swearing, weather inaccuracies, flashbacks, reference to past trauma, alcohol
word count: 5.7k
Tumblr media
Your finger rubs gently over the crinkled piece of paper Jake had torn off for you, the phone number and the name Tyler Owens written in the neat penmanship the blonde prided himself on.
If you ever find yourself down South and need something, Jake had said, a bit out of breath as he’d run out of the house after you. If you need anything, call that number. They’ll help you.
The cursor blinks back up at you on the call pad, your cracked screen making a mockery of you. The chaos of the San Diego airport whirls around you, pressing in on you the longer you sit here.
You take a deep breath and press call.
-
His phone starts vibrating on the table and he frowns, eyebrows furrowing as the team, crowded around the table in the RV, goes quiet.
He answers, despite it being an unknown number. “Tyler Owens.”
“Hi. Uh,” A shaky breath comes from the other end of the receiver before introducing themselves to him. “Uh, Jake Seresin gave me your number. Told me to call if I needed anything.”
His gut drops at the name, a clench in his heart. “What can I do for ya?”
“Look, I’ve- I’ve had a rough week and I’m, I’m sort of finding my life upside down. And uh, I guess I’m just grasping at straws here. Jake said, he said you could help me.”
“That so? Well, I’m afraid you’re gonna have to be more specific. How can I help you? What can I do for you?”
“A- a purpose, maybe? I need a purpose, something to do. Um, I’m in San Diego right now but I need to get out of here.”
Tyler frowns, eyes flicking around at his team. They’re all curious as to what’s unfolding, and he scrubs at his forehead, knowing they’ll be upset with him for pulling the trigger on this without talking it through with them first.
But damn it, this girl sounded scared and Jake had sent her to him. Had told her he’d help her, and he would see to it that he did.
He wasn’t going to leave her behind.
“Tell you what, get yourself on a plane to Oklahoma. I’ll come get you. You can come work with me and my team.”
“You- your team?” Though she sounds hesitant, she almost sounds relieved at having some sort of direction now.
“Storm chasers. Ish. We’re doing some field research out here in Tornado Alley, but I’ve got a team, the Tornado Wranglers. And honestly, we need another set of hands out of here managing the backend of things.”
The word managing was the wrong choice as it immediately sends his team into protest. Boone stands up abruptly, Javi and Kate whispering protests to him, as Lilly starts making a face. He waves a hand, wanting them to be quiet.
The last thing he needed was for this girl to hear, to hang up, to not follow through.
“Okay.” You say, and he thinks he hears you stand up. “Okay, I’ll find the soonest flight out. Um, what kind of things do you need help with? My background- it’s not in science.”
“Don’t worry about it, I’m sure we could find something around here you can help with. Research grant editing or something.”
“I’ve actually got experience with that.” You say with a choked laugh, and Tyler can feel the relief bleed through the phone. He smiles a bit, pressure easing as he does.
“Then we’ll make sure we put you to work.” There’s a beat as he hears the intercom in the airport go off in the background. “Listen, text me when your flights supposed to land. I’ll make sure I’m there to get you. We’re out in the field right now, so it may be a bit of trek out here, but I’ll make sure you get here.”
You confirm and he hangs up and his team starts yelling before the phone is even back on the table.
“We don’t need another team member man-“
“A manager? What kind of business do you take this for?”
“Are you serious? Kate and I, we’ve got the grant stuff covered-“
“This really tells us how you feel about us, Owens.”
He glances at Kate, who’s looking at him with a guarded expression he hasn’t seen since he first met her. She doesn’t excuse herself, simply pushing her way out, climbing around the back of Javi and Boone.
-
It would be hard to miss Tyler, the way he’s signing an autograph, cowboy hat atop his head as he leans against the truck branded with the Tornado Wranglers logo.
You stop dead, a cold feeling washing over you at the eerie reminder of the person you’d just left behind.
This Tyler Owens might be Jake Seresin’s doppelgänger, and based on what you’d seen during the flight you were beginning to suspect the only difference between them is the way they chased the adrenaline high.
During the flight, you’d bought in-flight WiFi for the first time in your life, just to learn who these people were, who you’d be spending time with. Trying to understand what you’d gotten yourself into.
Tyler perks up at the sight of you, a smile growing on his face. He holds out his hand and you take it, noting the genuine smile. You shake his hand, swallowing around the burning desire to ask the question.
“Welcome to good ol’ Oklahoma.” He welcomes. “You ready to hit the road? The team is a bit of a ways out.”
You nod as Tyler grabs your small duffel bag, throwing it in the back of the truck before you can even ask.
You climb in the front, taking note of all the gadgets the truck is equipped with. “What’s all this?” You ask, as he turns the key, pulling away from the curb. “Storm chasing stuff?”
“You could say that. The trucks decked out with all kinds of stuff.”
The radio is soft in the background as Tyler talks to you about the team, about what you’ll be doing.
As Tyler talks, as you talk, as you both think of things for you to do, you begin to lose interest in the conversation as the Oklahoma skyline begins to paint itself into a deep orange.
“Can we stop?” You ask, voice full of wonder as you peer out windshield, watching the sky transform itself.
You feel Tyler look over at you, before turning on his blinker despite the lack of cars around. The truck rolls to a stop as you dig around, pulling the disposable camera you’d bought from the bottom of your backpack. Tyler hasn’t even parked before you’re slipping out of the truck, walking around the front to take a picture of the sunset.
“I haven’t seen a sunset like this since I was a kid.” You breathe, the camera clicking as you do.
“I hear California has pretty good sunsets.” Tyler says, sticking his hands in his pockets as he stands next to you.
You shrug.  “They do, but if you’re in the inner city, a lot of times the good ones are hard to catch. They’re easier to see at the beach but the marine layer blocks a lot of the good ones.” You say, turning to Tyler. “At least in my opinion. We can get back on the road now.”
He nods, eyes steadily watching you as you turn on your heel, climbing back in the truck. Tyler’s a few beats behind you, still standing in the same spot as you buckle your seatbelt.
The rest of the drive is quiet, the flow of quiet country music coming through the radio as the Oklahoma skies turns from dusk to night.
By the time you roll up to camp, it’s clear that Tyler’s team has gone to bed, save for one.
An older man perks up at the sight of you, climbing to his feet from his chair. “Ah, Tyler. Was just about to call and see where you were. This our new teammate?”
Tyler nods, introducing you to this man. You step forward taking his outstretched hand.
“Dexter.” He says, a smile on his face. “You must’ve had a long day. We’ve got some leftovers, can I get you anything? We’ve also got our extra tent set up, it’s where you’ll be sleeping.”
You glance at Tyler, although you’re not sure for what. Reassurance maybe. “I’d love some food. And a water maybe? I don’t have a water bottle with me anymore.”
It’s almost a natural instinct to wince at the thought of the loss of your emotional support water bottle that was probably laying in some crevice in the wreckage in Texas.
Dexter sets to work as Tyler settles himself in front of the fire, a beer in hand. “We’re meant to head to town tomorrow anyways. We’ll stop, get you stuff to help out with the team. Maybe some new camping gear and whatever.” He takes a sip of his beer, cringing as he does. “Just realizing you’ll probably have to sleep on the dirt; I don’t think we’ve got any extra protectors after we visited the last wreckage. We should probably get more stuff tomorrow anyway.”
“It’s no worries.” You say with a wave of your hand. “I was a Girl Scout for like, eight years, so it’s not a big deal. Won’t phase me.”
A head pops out from a tent nearby. Tyler perks up at the sight of him, as the man sticks his hands in the pockets of the zip-up he’s wearing. “You want a jacket?”
You glance down, realizing you’re shivering. “Uh, yeah, that’d be nice.”
He gives you a cautious smile before looking to Tyler. “Hey Ty, man, I’ve got an extra pullover in the back of the van, can you grab it?”
Tyler nods as the man reaches a hand out. “I’m Javi.”
You shake it, introducing yourself.
“You from around here? You don’t sound it.”
You shake your head. “San Diego, actually.”
Tyler comes back the same time Dexter comes back with your food and Dexter waits patiently as you scramble, pulling the soft material over your head.
It smells strongly of rain in a way you can’t explain. In a way, the smell brings you a sliver of comfort.
You take the food from Dexter as you do, thanking him.
“Dexter, this is incredible.” You say around the bite.
“It’s an old family recipe from down in the bayou. I’ve tweaked it so we can make it out here on the road, but it’s a crowd pleaser when I do.”
“You from New Orleans?” You ask and he nods. “My boyf- my ex boyfriend now I guess-“ You say, taking another bite in hopes to hide the awkward way you swallow around those words. “He’s from out there too.”
Dexter sighs. “I miss that place, I do. But it wasn’t easy to stay after Katrina. I lost my whole family.”
Your heart pangs, at his words, and it aches, at the thought of the person you’d left behind.
“I’m very sorry to hear that.” You say softly.
Javi clears his throat. “You need anything else?” You shake your head and he stands up again. “I really oughta get to sleep, but we’ll chat more tomorrow, yeah?”
You nod and Javi gives you another cautious smile. In your heart, you want to believe there’s maybe a little hope hidden in it too.
Dexter also bids you and Tyler goodnight, and the two of you sit there, the crackling fire filling the silence as you eat.
“Thank you Tyler.” You say softly, staring at the burning embers after you’ve finished eating.
You know you should explain to him how it all happened, how you got here, but Tyler doesn’t ask and you can’t forget the vision in your head of Steven’s cold eyes, unseeing.
“You’re giving me a second chance here, and I really do appreciate it.” You settle on instead.
He nods. “Whatever I can do to help.”
You excuse yourself, bidding the man goodnight, only to find yourself tossing and turning on the hard ground.
You thought sleep would come to you easier, with how emotional the last week has been, but everytime you close your eyes and a breeze rolls through, it all comes flooding back, the haze of freezing rain, of a rusty storm grate, a heavy body, and so much blood-
The sound of a door shutting (from the RV if you had to guess,) causes you to open your eyes, sitting up on the makeshift bed.
“I don’t want her here Tyler.” A female voice says, and you frown.
There’s a beat.
“Too bad Sapulpa, she’s staying.” Tyler responds.
“Stay here and do what?” The girl asks incredulously. “We don’t need her help. And I didn’t know you’re suddenly in the business of helping out random strangers who call you in the middle of the day-“
“This is our whole business, Kate.” He says firmly. “We help people. Strangers. That’s what we’re here to do, remember?”
“And how are you helping her?”
Tyler’s quiet for a minute again. “We’re giving her a second chance.”
“A second chance? Are you serious?” The girl, Kate, huffs.
“It wasn’t that long ago it was you who needed a second chance. We gave that to you, remember?”
Another zipper being yanked cuts off Kate’s response.
“Yo!” It’s Javi. “Can y’all argue about this tomorrow?”
You don’t hear the sound of Kate’s footsteps but you hear the slam of the RV door loud and clear.
Tyler goes through the motions, getting the camp cleaned up, before putting the fire out. And then you hear him slip into the RV and for the first time in days, in the quiet of the Oklahoma night, it feels like you can breathe.
-
You awake with a gasp, clawing at the blankets as if it was Jake’s flannel, holding on for dear life through the storm.
You swallow back the bile threatening to spill over and blindly climb from the nest of blankets, pulling the zipper down, and stumbling into the sun.
You swallow as someone’s head turns. It’s a girl, sat at the table the crew has set up outside. You pull yourself from the tent, unable to shake your nerves as you take in the soft baby pink hues above her in the sky.
You introduce yourself softly and she gives you a tight smile in between bites of yogurt. “Kate.”
Your heart clenches, realizing this must be the girl you’d heard last night.
It’s an awkward silence the two of you sit in, the baby pink fading from the sky as Tyler pulls himself from the RV. When she sees Tyler, she quietly excuses herself and brushes past him, floating back into the RV.
“You oughta get that screen fixed.” Tyler comments, sitting down next to you.
“Haven’t had time.” You say with a shrug as you glance at the screen on your phone. It was more shattered than it was cracked, a hazard really, but what could you do?
“I’ll take you to a place in town today that’ll replace it for cheap.” Tyler says around a bite. “Can I get you anything to eat?”
Tyler’s team appears over the next hour, and he introduces them as they do. Dexter appears from the RV first and then Dani and Lilly from the back of the van. Boone gets dragged out from the van by Lilly twenty minutes later, and Boone pulls Javi from his tent because “if I have to be awake so do you Miami.”
Kate doesn’t leave the RV for the rest of the morning.
-
“They don’t like me.” You say quietly, drumming your fingers on the car door as Tyler drives to the motel that evening.
“They barely know you-“
“Cut the shit Tyler, I heard Kate last night.” You say sharply, sending him a cold glare. “They don’t want me here.” You roll out your shoulders, looking back out the window. “If you want me to go back, it’s okay.”
“And send you back to god knows what?”
“I’d be fine.”
“Kid, you sounded so damn terrified on that phone — I’m not inclined to turn around and give you back to that fear.”
You swallow around a sigh, feeling Tyler watch you as he drives.
“Give me a week. Give me a week to make it work. And if you still feel like you need to go back, hell, I’ll pay for your flight.”
You look at Tyler, noting the serious look in his eyes.
“Okay. One week.”
-
The next week feels simultaneously long and short in the worst ways.
Short, in that it feels like your time is running out.
Long, in that there are no storms to chase, dissipating before the team ever has a chance.
Long, in that you sit around most days, doing your own research on grants and sponsors and the backgrounds of potential investors and articles on social media growth.
Long, in that you don’t really talk to any of them, except for the one time you look over at Javi’s computer, just to tell him that his sentence didn’t make any sense.
Long in that, Kate refuses to be anywhere near you and Boone ignores you and Lilly shuts you out of conversation and Javi sort of looks at you like you’re some sort of alien placed down next to them.
It’s only on the sixth day, when you’re collecting everything you’ve worked on all week to give to Tyler in the morning before he takes you back, that something happens.
The storm is too far away for them to chase it, to get any research done, but Tyler and Lilly agree that the team should head in, to be there to help out and hand out food in the aftermath.
Because, apparently, that’s what this team is known for.
You feel awkward here, watching the team spring into action. You feel out of place, not knowing what you were supposed to say or do as these people dug through the rubble of their lives.
You were supposed to help people. Tyler had said you could help people here.
The team is distracted just enough, that it’s you who catches it, not them.
The sounds of a cry, somebody softly shushing them. You round a corner, heart breaking at the sight.
There, a small little boy, maybe around the age of 8, is holding who seems to be his little sister as she cries.
The poor girl can’t be any older than 3 or 4.
“I want Mom.” She blubbers out and the boy shushes her.
“I know, sissy, we just gotta-“ The boy looks around helplessly.
“Hey.” You call out, stepping around the rubble. “Hey, do you need help?”
The boy nods. “Mom said not to move but-“
You hold your hands out. “Stay where you are, okay? I’ll come get you and your sister alright?”
The boy nods, clinging to his sister’s hand.  You make your way through the rubble, kicking things out of the way to make a path back before finally reaching the two kids. You kneel down best as you can, leveling yourself to them as you introduce yourself.
“I’m here to help. Can you tell me your name?”
“I’m Jack.” The boy says. “This is Bella. She’s bleeding and I can’t find my Mom-“
“Hey, hey.” You soothe. “We’ll get you guys some help and get you out of here, okay? We’ll find your Mom.” You look at Bella. “Bella? Are you okay if I carry you? I’m going to help you find someone to patch that cut up, okay?” Bella nods and Jack lets her go as you scoop her up. You hold out your hand for Jack as the two of you navigate your way out.
As you weave your way through people, you ask Jack soft questions about himself, where he goes to school, if he likes dinosaurs or trucks, distracting him as he talks to you. Once you get the two kids to the EMTs, you duck around the side, in search of someone from your team.
“Kate.” You call, as she’s sifting through rubble, calling for a dog. She glances over at you. “Hey, I’ve got two little kids here who can’t find their Mom. I’m gonna stay with them but can you let the team know? Just in case anyone sees her.”
The face Kate makes is difficult to read as she nods. You sigh, making your way back around the truck.
Bella’s all patched up and Jack is studying the logo on your shirt, lighting up when he recognizes it.
“Mom lets me watch their YouTube channel sometimes!”
You scoop Bella back up in your arms, holding a hand out for Jack to jump down as you do.
“Oh well then I’m guessing you don’t want to come see the tornado-proof truck?”
-
It’s late in the day when Bella and Jack’s Mom comes running down the street, hysterical. Tyler and Kate aren’t far behind her.
Her arm is in a sling and there’s a few bumps and bruises on her, but otherwise she’s fine. Both of the kids light up at the sight of their Mom, and she’s tearful, thanking you over and over for helping them, for watching over her babies.
You wave her off, citing babysitting as just another thing you’re used to, a big family and all that.
It’s as they’re walking away, Dexter asking if you want any food, Jack shouts out.
They turn back, Bella running back to you with the stuffed animal she’d been holding in hand. You kneel down as she holds it out for you to take, heart aching as you look at the stuffed pig.
Bella had seen it atop your stuff when you’d taken them in the RV and had been holding it ever since.
It was one of the few things you had of your life left behind but you know when it’s time to let something go.
“You keep it okay?” You say softly. “You take care of yourself little Bella?” She wraps her arms around your neck, the stuffie clutched between her little fingers. You return the hug, exhaling as you do. Bella lets you go, returning to her Mom and her brother and you stand back up, wiping at your eyes with the back of your hand.
“Do you want some food? You’ve been with those kids all day.” Dani says softly, holding the box.
“How’d you find Mom?” You ask quietly, crossing your arms.
Tyler sighs. “Was sitting with her the whole afternoon when Kate came down the street, hearing her talk about her missing kids. Kate connected the dots.”
Your arms wrap around yourself tighter. “Kate, I told you I was with those kids. I told you to tell the team in case anybody found Mom.”
Kate opens her mouth but no words come out as Lilly’s eyes slide between the two of you.
“Here.” Lilly says gently as she holds the box out, taking it from Dani. “You should eat. Been a long day.”
“I’m not hungry.” You say. “I’m gonna get in the truck, let me know when we’re leaving.”
-
You sling your backpack over your shoulder, the truck door shutting behind you as you walk up the motel steps.
The backpack, downsized from your duffel bag as Tyler had gone through the Oklahoma necessities with you, which was hardly anything you owned, feels heavy as you do.
“Hey.” Kate’s voice calls out. “That was a really nice thing you did for that little girl.”
Tears sting at your eyes as you push the key into the lock, pressing against the door with your body weight to get the door to unstick.
You think Tyler says something as you shut the door but under the hot water of the shower rushing down you, you can’t hear anything else.
-
You clear your throat, announcing your presence as you do. Tyler and Kate pause in their conversation as they look over to you.
You set the folder down in front of Tyler, Javi’s pullover in front of Kate.
“Just wanted to give these to you. Tyler, do you want me to just wait in the truck?”
Tyler peeks at the folder as Kate asks “Wait for what?”
“What is all of this?” Tyler asks, flipping through the pages.
“Research on potential investors and their backgrounds. Just so you guys don’t get into another StormPar situation. There’s some stuff about grants, donors in there. Other stuff I tracked down about how you could grow your social media, ideas I had. There might be a couple of pages about laws on people donating, not sure. It’s everything I’ve done this week. Y’all don’t have to use it but I just thought it might be helpful as lead points.”
“This is- this is really great stuff.” Tyler remarks. “It’s gonna be a real loss to not have your brain on our team.”
“Wait - are you leaving?” Kate asks, eyes flying between you and Tyler.
“I’ll meet you at the truck.” You say, turning to leave. You think you hear Kate repeat the question to Tyler, but you shut the door to the RV before you can hear their conversation further. Across the parking lot, Javi calls out, but you wave him off as you climb into the passenger seat of Tyler’s truck.
Your heart feels heavy as you look at your own Javy’s contact.
It would be so easy to pick up the phone, to tell him you made a mistake, to beg him to let you come home.
He would too, and he would pick you up from the airport, and he’d wash the Oklahoma from your skin, and he’d hold you through the loss.
But then you remember Jake’s defeated look as the two of you had assessed the damage, the way he’d asked you to lie.
You remember the blood-
A startled gasp leaves you as someone knocks on the window.
It’s Kate.
You roll down the window.
“You’re leaving?”
You eye her, unsure why she appears to be almost nervous, fingernails digging into the soft flesh of her arms.
“Yeah?”
“Why?”
You shrug, surveying the team in the parking lot. “It just didn’t work out. I didn’t fit here.”
“But-“ She worries her bottom lip. “Where will you go?”
“I’ll figure it out.” You say simply.
You’d have to because you knew the alternative would be devastating to everyone you’d ever known.
She sighs, eyes flickering to Tyler, who’s moving closer. “Well, we’re headed to my Mom’s tonight. You should stay one more night. You’ve never even had real Oklahoma barbecue.”
A dry laugh escapes you without your permission. “Kate, what are you playing at here?”
She seems shocked, not expecting your question. “What do you mean?”
You roll your eyes, huffing. “Kate, c’mon, you told Tyler you didn’t want me here.”
Her face drops as her arms fall by her sides. “You heard that?” She says quietly.
“Yeah.”
She licks her lips. “Look, I ain’t good with new people. I’m- It’s a me thing.” She looks down, scuffing her boot on the ground. “It’s my problem and I misjudged you. I’m sorry. Give me another night to show you how it could be.”
“Why the hell would I stay to see how it could be when I know at this moment I’m not wanted here?”
“I do.” She says softly. “Want you here. I was wrong and I’m sorry.”
You let out breath through your nose, meeting Tyler’s eyes through the windshield.
You think of Dexter’s food, Javi’s pullover, Dani and Lilly’s gentle insistence you feed yourself last night.
You think of the Louisiana area code sitting open on your phone right now.
“One night, Kate.”
-
“I sure am sorry you’ll have to sleep on the floor. I just wasn’t expecting an extra person from the crew but we can make sure you have somewhere to sleep tomorrow night-“
You cut her off, holding your hands out for the dishes from dinner. “That’s very kind of you Ms. Cooper, but I’m just fine sleeping on the floor.”
“Please, I keep telling you to just call me Cathy and, well, you could stay in Kate’s bed?” Cathy offers as you take the plates from her.
“Think you’d find my throat slit tomorrow.” You mutter and Tyler barks out a laugh.
“You deserved that one Kate.”
Cathy turns to her daughter, a look on her face. “What did you do?”
Kate pulls a face, holding her hands out. “What- Nothing, Mom!”
Cathy hums, eyebrows furrowing but you cut them off. “The floor is just fine, Ms. Cooper. Um, do you mind pointing me in the direction of the bathroom so I could change?”
-
“Do Tyler and Kate have a thing?” You ask, taking a sip of the hot chocolate Lilly had made as Javi chuckles next to you.
You’re watching the group fight over Uno, you and Javi sat in front of a puzzle.
“They did at one point. When they first met, but they burned out pretty fast. Figured out they were better off as friends.” You hum and Javi’s grin grows. “Why, you thinking you want to start something up with Owens?”
You blanch and shake your head. “No, I think I’ve more than had my fill on macho thrill seekers for this lifetime.”
Javi lets out a laugh, a real one, for the first time all week. You smile, thinking of how Tyler would fit in with those pilots like he’d always belonged there.
You were all set on those types.
Kate though…
If Kate hadn’t been so cold to you, Kate would’ve been the type of girl you could see yourself falling for.
Witty, bright, a soft smile always worn on her face. She’s at ease here and it makes your heart hurt to see. You want to someday be as at ease as she looks, wedged in between Boone and Dexter, the brightest smile you’ve seen from her on her face.
“So how the hell does a city girl like you find herself in Oklahoma?”
You slide a puzzle piece into place. “I don’t, I don’t really want to talk about it, if that’s okay.”
Javi sighs, quiet for a minute. “Look, I’m sorry we were so off-putting when you first got here. We’re a tight knit group and we’ve been through a lot together. And-“
“Javi.” You cut him off with a tight smile. “You don’t have to explain. I get it, okay? You guys aren't the first group to not want me around and you won’t be the last, alright?”
He heaves a breath, an unreadable look on his face. “Just- if anyone might understand the things you’re running from, it would be us.”
“Who says I’m running?”
Javi raises an eyebrow and you sigh, setting the pieces you’re sorting through down.
“Look, I’m not running. I’m just- I’m just trying to leave something behind.”
Javi studies you for a few minutes as you set back to work on the puzzle.
“Shame you and Kate can’t get along. You two are more alike than you think.”
-
You awake with a start, fingers clenching in unfamiliar fabric.
“Are you okay?” Someone asks softly and you blink, Kate coming into focus.
Right, you had- you had slept next to her last night after she’d worn you down. You couldn’t deny how nice it had sounded to sleep in a real bed.
“Fine.” You breathe, willing yourself to forget the shouts of a friend left behind.
She frowns as she pulls her pants on. “I’m, uh, sorry for waking you up. Gotta help Mom with the cows.”
You wave a hand, pulling yourself to sit up in the bed. “Want a hand?”
“Mom would kill me if I let a guest help. Why don’t you get some more sleep, okay?”
You lay back down as she quietly ducks out of the room, but you know sleep won’t come.
You’re restless so you pull yourself from the bed, padding down the staircase and sitting in one of the chairs on the porch. Tyler appears a minute later, an extra coffee mug in hand. You take it from him with a quiet thank you before the two of you start to watch Kate.
“So California, are we gonna talk about it?” Tyler asks.
You sigh as Tyler kicks his feet out. “Well, you’re gonna ask me questions I don’t want to answer and I’m gonna ask you ones you don’t want to answer, so unless you want to start copping to some things…”
Tyler shakes his head. “Won’t talk about it then, California.”
You eye him. “I’d prefer it if you didn’t call me that. Sort of hard to leave that life behind when you keep calling me that.”
“You gonna stay?” Tyler asks, looking over at you.
You shrug, finger running over the rim of the mug. “I don’t know that I should.”
“I know it’s been a rough start with them.” Tyler sighs, shoulders hiked up. “But they’re good people.”
“I don’t doubt that.”
“You’re good people too.”
“Doesn’t make me a good fit here.”
Tyler sighs. “It’s my fault, I should’ve approached it a different way. But if you leave, we’d really be missing out. You’ve got those fancy degrees and you’re smart and you’re one fucking selfless girl. We could use someone like you around.”
Kate and her Mom appear, Kate’s bright smile appearing as she pulls herself onto the railing of the porch.
“You guys hungry? I’m gonna go get started on breakfast.”
“Starved.”
“Wanna come see the barn?” Kate asks you as her Mom opens the screen door.
“Now hang on, California ain’t said if she’s staying. No reason to show her the barn if she’s gonna be leaving.”
You sigh, look down at the mug you can feel going cold. You rub your thumb over the Oklahoma written into the side as you think of Kate’s smile, of Tyler’s kindness, of Dexter’s food, of Javi’s pullover that had somehow ended back up in your bag after giving it back to Tyler and Kate yesterday.
You blink, looking back up at them. “Okay. Yeah, okay, I’ll stay."

Cowboy Chasing
Tumblr media
Title: Cowboy Chasing Summary: Chasing storms was simple. Chasing the tornado chasing cowboy was a whole different story. Main Characters: Tyler Owens, Reader Pairing: Tyler Owens, Reader Rating: E - Everyone Warnings: Fluff/Angst Word Count: 2481 A/N: My first fic in over a year thanks to a certain tornado chasing cowboy :) I used my taglist from over a year ago. If you don’t want to be tag please let me know (no hard feelings, I totally get it).
“Are you sure?” Her best friend asked as (Y/N) continued to pack her duffel bag.
She sighed, “Yes, I’m sure. When he left we had a fight and I can’t live with myself if anything were to happen to him.”
“How long has it been since you’ve been chasing?”
Flashes of that last night played in her mind, “A few years…”
Her best friend took her hands, “Promise me you’ll be careful.”
“I promise.” (Y/N) smiled.
“Also, tell Boone he still owes me a dance.” They started laughing as (Y/N) zipped up her bag.
“Will do. I’ll call you when I get to Enid.” (Y/N) hugged her friend then made her way out of their apartment.
(Y/N) knew the drive to Enid, Oklahoma like the back of her hand. Every storm season that is where the chasers would gather to prep for the first chase. Checking the forecasts, she knew there was a chance the Wranglers would already be out on the road heading south towards Oklahoma City. She pulled out her phone, hitting Dani’s number and sending her a voice memo.
“Hey, I’m heading out to you guys. If you leave Enid, could you let me know. I appreciate it. Oh and don’t tell Tyler. Love ya.”
Dani’s response was immediate, “As I live and breathe, (Y/N) (Y/L/N). Girl, it’s been too long. We’re heading south on the 81 towards Kingfisher in the morning. Miss and love ya.”
Another voice memo came through, “Also, your secret is safe with me. Does this mean you’re back?”
(Y/N) shook her head. The thought of chasing again was exciting and terrifying. There was no way she could go back. Not after all the time that had passed and not after the last chase. No, this trip was for closure and nothing more.
Between several cans of Monster and singing to the top of her lungs, (Y/N) made it to Enid by one in the morning. A soft smile spreading across her face seeing all the cars, vans and rigs of fellow chasers. Two groups stood out the most. The pristine white trucks and van of Storm Par were parked all by themselves. Javi must have gotten more money from Riggs noticing their team now having a fourth truck code name Toto.
Then there was the all too familiar red Dodge Ram parked in the middle of the lot. (Y/N) couldn’t believe they still had the beat up camper and van. With their YouTube channel taking off, she figured they would have at least updated the camper. Knowing Tyler, he probably used any money to go to helping the families and loved ones after a tornado. Humanitarian was one of the qualities that had attracted her to chasing with them and following Tyler Owens wherever the wind blew him.
“(Y/N)?” A familiar voice called out.
“Hiya Boone.” She turned around to see Boone, Dexter, Lilly and Dani all walking back from the small 24 hour diner.
“‘Bout time you came back out with us! We missed you!” He pulled her into a hug before everyone else surrounded her.
For the first time in years, (Y/N) finally felt at home again. The years she spent chasing storms with her Wrangler family were the best years of her life. Until it all went to shit.
“Well, well, who do we have here?”
His southern drawl never failed to send goosebumps over her skin, “Hey Tyler, how are you?”
“I’m good, (Y/N). I’m very good.” He smirked.
Dani smacked his shoulder, “Don't mind him, he’s been watching Top Gun Maverick on repeat.”
“You look good, Tyler.” (Y/N) couldn’t help her eyes from traveling down the length of his body.
There was nothing noticeably different about him since she last saw him a year ago. He still wore the same blue jeans, brown boots, Wrangler belt buckle and dark button down. The only thing missing was his Stetson and she knew exactly where it would be.
She noticed he was taking inventory of her as well as those dark green eyes gave her once over, “You look good too. So, what brings you out here?”
“I was hoping to talk to you before you went out tomorrow, if that’s okay?”
Tyler motioned for her to follow him to his motel room. (Y/N) waved to her family when Boone stopped her.
“You’re not staying, are you?” He asked with dark chocolate puppy eyes.
She shook her head then said, “Annie wanted me to let you know that you still owe her a dance. You should come on by and square your debt with her after this storm season.”
His smile was infectious, “I will. It was damn good to see ya, (Y/N).”
She turned around to see Tyler leaning against the door frame of his room. She stepped inside, chuckling to herself seeing some things truly would never change. He had clothes laid out everywhere drying. An empty pizza box and three beers out of six left sitting on his table. The TV was on showing infomercials until the morning news came on.
“Ya know, if you’re wanting to head back out I don’t know if we have room for you. We have a big shot British reporter going out with us this year.” Tyler offered her a bottle of water which she accepted.
“Reporter? Wow… you’ve really hit the big time.” She didn’t mean for it to come out as snarky as it did, “Hopefully, they knew what they were getting themselves into.”
Tyler flopped down on the bed, crossing his ankles and resting his head on one of his arms. Seeing his body stretched out brought up older memories of their early chasing years. The thrill of getting close to a tornado and the adrenaline they would need to work off when they got to a motel for the night. (Y/N) knew that body as well as she knew her own and now she could feel her cheeks flushing.
“So, what did you want to talk about?” He asked, a knowing smirk on his handsome face.
She rolled her eyes, knowing she played right into his little trap. He knew she would think of the good times seeing him stretched out like that. Knowing she couldn’t help to be nostalgic and remember the good ole days. As well he could read her, she could read him. (Y/N) sat down on the opposite bed taking a long drink of her water.
“The last time I was with you, we had a huge fight.” She looked over at him as he moved to mirror her sitting position.
He leaned forward on his elbows, clasping his hands together, “Mmhmm.”
“We both said some hurtful things and I wanted to clear the air between us.”
His green eyes locked onto hers, “You’re wanting an apology.”
She sighed, “No. I want you to know that… that I care about you and the team. I didn’t want you leading them into unnecessary danger for more followers or views.”
“If I remember correctly you said that I was and I quote, A reckless tornado chasing cowboy with a death wish.”
She flinched, “I know. I was frustrated and we had just lost…”
Tyler stood up, running his hand through his golden hair, “Theo knew what he was getting into when he started chasing with us. Hell, he had watched you chase well before he joined us. We all know the dangers of this job, but it’s worth it if we can help the people here.”
It was the same speech Tyler had given her a year ago. She clenched her fists on top of her knees, unable to keep the anger from flooding her system.
“Damn it Tyler, he should have never been in your damn truck! He should have been with Dex and Dani in the camper, but you wanted him to experience the real thing. What did that get him?”
She covered her mouth as Tyler’s eyes widened, “Tyler, I’m… I didn’t…”
He stormed over to the door, “If you think that I don’t spend every moment of every day not blaming myself for your brother’s death then you never knew me.”
He was gone with the door slamming shut. (Y/N) punched the bed beside her to release some of the rage overwhelming her.
“Fuck!” She yelled out before the tears started to fall, “This was not how I wanted it to go.”
After an hour, (Y/N) left the room in search of Tyler. She knew exactly where he would be heading towards his truck. He was sitting up on the roof tinkering with some the gauges.
“I’m sorry.” She said, climbing up onto the bed of the truck, “I really didn’t come here to fight again.”
“Then why did you come here? It’s been a year since you told me to get out of your life for good. Why now?” He never looked up at her.
She carefully sat up on the roof, “I hated the way we left things. I would never be able to live with myself if anything happened to you and the last thing I had said to you was I hate you.”
Tumblr media
He glanced up at her, “You don’t hate me?”
“I think you know that I don’t. I… I never could hate you.” She sighed, “Tyler, what we had was special. We both shared the same goals in life and careers. We were good together, but losing my brother changed me. All I could think about was I couldn’t lose you the same way I lost him.”
(Y/N) looked up when she felt his hand cover hers, “I’m sorry.” he whispered.
“Me too.” She squeezed his hand and a spark ignited in her chest.
“Come on, I need a few hours of sleep and you can stay in my room on the extra bed. I’m sure you need some sleep as well.”
He jumped down onto the bed of the truck helping her down as well. He jumped down from the truck holding out his arms for her. His hand gripped her hips and he lifted her from the tailgate setting her on the ground. Her body slid down his and once again her body flooded with heat.
“You know I could sleep in my car or get my own room.” She said softly, looking up at him.
“Scared something might happen?” He smirked, making her roll her eyes.
Pushing him gently, “Nope. I gave up chasing cowboys a long time ago.”
“Really? Yet, you drove nearly eight hours to talk with me. Sounds to me like you might still be chasing cowboys.” He leaned down, “Or am I wrong?”
His soft lips were close to hers and his woodsy cologne filled her senses. Her knees were going to buckle if she didn’t step away from her and she would fall right back into oblivion with him.
“We can’t.” She whispered, “I can’t stand back and watch you drive into tornados not knowing if you’ll come back to me.”
His eyes softened as he backed away from her, “I understand. You can sleep in my room and I’ll sleep in my truck.”
“Tyler, there’s two beds. We can share the room.” She caught his arm and felt him flinch.
He never turned to look at her, “You were always the strong one. I know I won’t be able to keep myself in control. Goodnight (Y/N).”
He walked to the driver’s side, getting in his truck. (Y/N) stood there for a moment before retreating into his room. She sat on the bed thinking about everything they had said and everything that was left unsaid between them. She loved him. She had been in love with him for nearly a decade and still was. She wanted to be by his side, but that fear of not knowing if he would come back to her kept her from doing what she wanted. The sun was peeking over the horizon when she heard the door open to the motel room.
She turned around to see Tyler staring down at her. Since she hadn’t grabbed her bag, she had opted to wear one of his white t-shirts for a night shirt. (Y/N) stood up grabbing her clothes that were on the small table.
“Sorry, I will get dressed and let you get ready.” She mumbled.
His hand grabbed her elbow, spinning her towards him, “Fuck it.”
His lips crashed to hers. Immediately, the stress and tension in her body melted as he wrapped her legs around his waist. Her back hit the mattress as Tyler began a hot trail of kisses down her neck.
“Ty-Tyler…” She moaned.
He lifted himself up, “I know, I know. We shouldn’t do this, but there is nothing in the world that I need more than you. Not storm chasing or anything. All I want is you and if this is the last time I get to be with you then so be it.”
Her heart was thumping rapidly against her chest, “You still love me?”
“Seriously?” He scoffed, “You think one little fight was going to erase you from my heart? Sweetheart, there is only one other woman I spend my time chasing other than you and that’s mother nature. There’s no one else in the world worth chasing other than you.”
She couldn’t help the grin spreading across her face, “For the record, I love you too.”
His breathtaking smile appeared and (Y/N) knew she was right where she needed to be. Tyler leaned down kissing her slowly, passionately. She was pulling his shirt off when there was a knock on his door.
“Go away!” He yelled, kissing her inner thigh.
“Tyler, we got a storm brewing just outside Bartlesville. If we hit the road now then we can beat Storm Par.” Boone’s voice was barely audible as Tyler groaned.
“Alright, we’re leaving in fifteen.” He rested his cheek against her thigh, “You think we could finish in fifteen minutes?”
She giggled, “It has been a while for both of us, but no I don’t. However, after chasing this storm we could pick up where we left off at another motel. Like the good ole days.”
“You’re staying?” he asked, helping her up and sitting her on his lap.
She nodded, “Cowboy, there’s nowhere else I would rather be than by your side.”
He kissed her again, gripping her hips tight. She moaned against his lips as she rolled her hips against him.
Tyler growled when Boone banged on his door again, “Be out in five!”
“Come on cowboy,” She kissed him, “I’m feeling it, so let's go chase it.”
“Yes ma’am.” He smacked her behind before they both got up gathering their stuff and heading out to the truck.

Just a little fluff to start your weekend with.
*
Steve is sitting down in his shared apartment with Eddie reading a magazine, waiting for his boyfriend to get home.
Soon enough his tornado of a boyfriend comes barrelling through the door. He can hear Eddie set something down before walking up to the sofa.
“Hey, sweetheart,” Eddie says softly. “How mad would you be if I brought home a box full of kittens someone had abandoned on the side of the road in this torrential rain?”
Steve lowers the magazine and looks up at Eddie fondly. “That would depend on how many there are? How many you plan on keeping? And how many you plan on giving to the animal shelter?”
Eddie grins. “There are six kittens and I only plan on keeping one?” He pulls a kitten out from under his leather jacket. It’s mostly white with a little black on the tip of her ear and a single circle around her left eye. “Her name is Bandit.”
“Not mad at all, sunshine,” Steve reassures him. “She’s beautiful. Now, come show me the others, too.”
Eddie’s grin broadens. He hands Bandit to Steve who immediately starts scritching her neck. He grabs the sodden box and sets it down in front of Steve.
Steve peers inside to see a cute bundle of fluffs in varying degrees of black to white ratio. But tucked away in the corner, Steve spots the final kitten. He looks up at Eddie and licks his lips. “How mad would you be if I fell in love with a kitten, too?”
Eddie cocks his head to the side and asks which one. Steve pulls out the final kitten, long haired while the others are short haired, and a dark charcoal grey. He meows in protest of being picked up. Steve now has a kitten in each hand and looking like he’s about to cry from the sheer joy of it all.
“Ah, yes,” Eddie said. “You would fall for that one. What are you going to name him?”
Steve grins at him like he’s about tell the biggest pun of his life. “Smokey.”
“As in ‘Smokey and the Bandit’?” Eddie deadpans.
Steve just continues grinning.
Eddie sighs. “Fine. You get Smokey and I get Bandit and we’ll go the shelter tomorrow to get pet supplies and drop off the other kittens.”
Steve hands Bandit back to Eddie as he cuddles close to Smokey. Eddie smiles up at them from his place on the floor. This just might have been the best decision he’s made since he asked Steve to move in with him.
Outside it rains on, but the love in that small apartment is brighter than the sun.

Went to see "Twisters" tonight and it was thoroughly enjoyable!
Some spoilers below the cut
Okay first of all, I'm extremely excited to say that they don't push a love triangle despite there being a girl MC and two main guys. One of them is an old friend who remains firmly an old friend, with no indication that he has romantic feelings. Like they get to be actual friends!!!!! And the other, while potentially a love interest, had just as much potential to be a friend instead, and in an extremely important (to me) way they do not kiss! I was shocked, actually. I expected them to pull out a "gotta have a kiss to appease the amatonormative folks" but nope! Not even in the little mid credit blurb. He stays the night at her childhood home with her and nothing happens. Like not even an awkward moment of tension, they don't even show them going to bed I don't think.
And I feel this to my bones, she was allowed to be the star. She changed her old friend's mind and gave him a chance to choose doing the right thing and he did it because he cared about her opinion of him and wanted to be who she thought he was. And the other guy found out she had dreams/goals of doing something and instead of taking them or doing it for her, he said what can I do to help you, and she chose to let him help her. It was so softly done!! And this guy, he was a full on attention hound with a YouTube channel and loves showing off and he's taking a press guy into the storms to do a story about how awesome he is at tornado wrangling. But when it comes down to it, he tells the reporter she's the real story AND SHE IS!! The article gets written about her instead!
The beginning was. A lot. You get introduced to the storm hunting group, and then immediately 3 of the 5 get killed and the MC almost does, all because she miscalculated. But you know what? She a) keeps her trauma and b) continues doing meteorology stuff, just from a safer distance. Like it's very clear that tornadoes are still this girl's passion, something she loves with every fiber of her being, but she's also been traumatized by losing her boyfriend and two of her closest friends (not to mention her dream project) and nearly her life, in one go. And even still it is something she literally can't stay away from, she still takes a job involved with them through data analysis, and you can practically feel it killing her at the start. The way she lights up at the mention of studying them more closely like she had wanted to, and that excitement immediately chased out by fear. It was nicely done.
They did a really nice thing with the music as well- PERFECTLY captured that kind of moment where the rest of the world drops away and all you can perceive for a moment or two is this thing you love so much it feels like time stops to let you love it more. Except she's looking at weather. At winds moving or clouds or tornadoes. Which is so cool of them to have done for her. This girl loves one thing and it's fuckin WEATHER.
The "villain" of the story is understated and they really don't waste time going into detail about it, which is great because the MC isn't really interested in finding out more about the real estate mogul capitalizing on the devastation. She just doesn't want her friend working for them anymore. She finds out he is, she draws a line in the sand and tells him he should be doing the right thing not the easy thing, and her friend takes her objection seriously and alters his behavior. And that's all the more they really get into that side of the story. Why waste time on it when there's more tornadoes to show? This movie did what Godzilla: King of Monsters failed to do- showed us the monster as much as possible and actually I do care about the people still because none of their problems were irrelevant, none of them were problems for the sake of having problems.
Anyway this movie was enjoyable to me. If you like weather phenomena, storm chasing, chaos, and actually interesting interpersonal relationships, go have a watch!

Really have been in such a bad funk lately so fuck it, here is a list of things about Twisters that I love in no particular order:
that scene where Tyler and Kate are explaining how a tornado forms and the scene cuts between the two of them so it’s like a seamless line of dialogue/they are so in sync each other. Taking about weather with the same reverence that’s soulmatism.
“Ohkay uniform. Wrinkle free shirt. Crisp hat!”
That the wranglers and storm par crew cross paths so often they know each others names enough to rib at each other (and wranglers having the time of their lives competing against them)
When that one storm par guy yells “chase it!” because he’s secretly a Tyler Owen’s fan
Tyler’s truck driving across a field towards the first tornado looking like a cross between Mater from Cars and a horse galloping like yeehaw “it’s like the Wild West out here!” They saw the opportunity and they took it
That his truck is red!!!! And I know people are tempted to be like “he inherited Bill’s truck” but let’s not forget Bill’s truck got eaten by an EF5 and I don’t think it made it out like Tyler’s did
KATE’S BARRELS (never not over KATES’S BARRELS)
I wanna know more about Dani and Dexter’s friendship. Dexter being all “there’s a name for that there’s a name for that” and Dani’s like “just enjoy it, man!” I just know they balance each other out
“We’re driving into a tornado for gods sakes”
The way Tyler is immediately smitten and recognises how smart Kate is and like that’s why he likes her so much?? Like yeah she’s pretty but she’s pretty BRILLIANT You can tell he’s just like “wow I have met my match”
Kate giving it back to him and not falling for his charm so easily - there’s a fire/cheekiness in there
When Tyler’s heart of gold/the real Tyler starts to show away from the cameras and it’s just Kate and Tyler testing Kate’s theories but Tyler is still 100% himself like his persona is not all bravado he still wants to send things up in rockets and drive into tornadoes like that’s just who he is and when it’s away from the cameras it’s kind of dorky dude
Frankenstein playing in the cinema in El Reno and Doctor Frankenstein yelling “it’s alive!” Right before the wall of the cinema is ripped off
Also while I’m on that, that the wall that gets ripped away is the wall with the screen, making the storm outside in some sense the movie wow I just thought about that. Art imitating life or whatever the ultimate 4D experience (reminds me of sound and light shows ok I’m digressing)
“She’s your story, Ben.”
Hanging out and sitting on the truck having lunch and staring at clouds I need 1000x fics about this
When they rustle the team together to get Kate’s theories in motion with the whole team and everyone is immediately on board and defers to Kate as to why they need a trailer ect
Addy: “you’re no fun since you got hit by lightning” I WANT THE STORY
The Tornado Wrangler belt buckle 😭
Ok this list is getting long but anyway the movie isn’t perfect but it’s fun and I’m glad it makes me happy in this way

Storm of the Heart-Tyler Owen’s x Reader PT. 2
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Being a sister to one of the notorious storm chaser crews online was a lot, You were Boone’s Sister, you have always heard stories from him and watched all the videos when they were live storm chasing. One Day your Brother invites you to go Storm Chasing with him and the crew, what will happen during that time? Will you and a Certain Storm Chaser get close to each other?
Pairings: Tyler Owen’s x Reader
Word Count: 658
Author’s Note: Hi! Everyone! I just wanted to say thank you for reading my first ever Tyler Owen’s fic ❤️ and giving it some love! Since it is becoming popular I have decided to do a part 2 of this story!❤️ Let me Know if I should make this into a series!
Weeks had passed since your first storm chasing experience with Tyler and the team. You'd been making excuses to visit Boone more often, always managing to time your visits with upcoming chase opportunities. Your brother saw right through you, of course, but he kept his teasing to a minimum.
Today, you were back at the base, helping the team prepare for a potentially massive storm system. As you loaded equipment into one of the chase vehicles, you felt a familiar presence behind you.
"Need a hand?" Tyler's voice sent a shiver down your spine.
You turned, offering a smile. "I've got it, but thanks."
He leaned against the vehicle, watching you work. "You know, you're getting pretty good at this. Ever thought about joining us full-time?"
The idea made your heart race. "I'd be lying if I said no," you admitted.
Before Tyler could respond, Boone's voice cut through the air. "Alright, lovebirds! Time to move out!"
You felt your cheeks flush as Tyler chuckled. "Your brother's got quite the imagination," he said, but there was a hint of something in his eyes that made you wonder.
As you climbed into Tyler's vehicle, Boone caught your arm. "Be careful out there, sis. And I don't just mean with the storm."
You rolled your eyes, but his words stuck with you as you set out.
The chase was intense from the start. Multiple tornadoes touched down, keeping the team on their toes. You found yourself working seamlessly with Tyler, anticipating his needs and providing support.
As day turned to dusk, you spotted a massive funnel cloud forming. "Tyler, look!" you pointed.
His eyes widened. "That's our target. Hold on tight!"
The next few minutes were a blur of adrenaline and fear as Tyler skillfully maneuvered closer to the tornado. You were mesmerized by his focus, the way he seemed to become one with the storm.
Suddenly, a piece of debris smashed into the windshield. You let out a startled cry, and Tyler immediately reached out, his hand finding yours.
"I've got you," he said, his voice steady despite the chaos around you.
In that moment, as the world spun wildly outside, something shifted between you. The tension that had been building for weeks crystallized into something undeniable.
As the storm began to dissipate, Tyler pulled over. The team's voices crackled over the radio, but neither of you moved to respond.
"Y/N," Tyler started, his voice uncharacteristically hesitant. "I need to tell you something."
Your heart pounded. "What is it?"
He took a deep breath. "I know you're Boone's sister, and I know it could complicate things, but... I'm falling for you. Hard."
Joy surged through you. "Tyler, I-"
"Wait," he interrupted. "Before you say anything, you need to know what you'd be getting into. This life, it's dangerous. Unpredictable. I can't promise safety or stability."
You smiled, reaching out to touch his cheek. "Tyler, I know all that. And I'm falling for you too – all of you, including the storm chaser."
Relief washed over his face, and he leaned in, his lips meeting yours in a kiss that rivaled any storm for intensity.
When you finally parted, breathless, Tyler rested his forehead against yours. "So, what do we tell Boone?"
You laughed. "I think he already knows. But let's worry about that later."
As you drove back to base, hand in hand, you felt a mix of excitement and trepidation. You were embarking on a new adventure – one potentially more thrilling and unpredictable than any storm.
Back at headquarters, Boone took one look at your intertwined hands and sighed dramatically. "Well, it's about time. But Tyler, just remember – I know where all the tornadoes are."
You couldn't help but laugh. Whatever challenges lay ahead, you knew you could weather them together – just like the storms you chase.

Pregnancy Kink ft. Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin
CW: Pregnancy, sex, inaccuracies (never been preg sorry), very southern, fingering, oral (f!receiving)
WC: 698
Everyone knew Jake was Southern, and it was painfully obvious. You could walk into a room blind and still point out the Texas in the aviator. He wanted what every Southern man wanted, a wife, kids, the whole fantasy. And that’s what you gave him. After three years of trying with your husband, you finally got pregnant. You didn’t tell Jake for a little while just in case something happened and to protect your sanity. The man would not even think of leaving you alone while you were carrying his child, which was adorable, but with your hormones it was a little much at first. Then it became not enough. You wanted him all the time, no you needed him. That was the one part of pregnancy you didn’t expect, but you had a hunch that he didn’t mind either. One night, your hunch was proven. You were in a new lingerie set to try and bring some confidence you lost when you got pregnant back, you already weren’t skinny, but the pregnancy made it worse. It had come to your attention that Jake had his hands on your stomach more than you did.
“Jake, come here right quick, I need to show you something.” He walked into the sight of you in your new teddy. You decided on it with the help of your friend, who said it complimented your skin and eyes. Based on the way his eyes sparkled, you were right. Jake immediately grabbed your face and pulled you into a tender kiss. After you pulled away, his eyes raked over your form, trying to burn the image into his mind. Muttering compliments and he continued staring.
You moved your arms in front of your stomach and he instantly moved them away. With the most loving look in his eyes, he remarked, “No honey. I know you’re not trying to hide your body. It was perfect before and it’s perfect now. Did you just want to show me your new outfit or do you want me to do something about it.”
“Do something about it. I need you.” He didn’t need to be told twice. Ripping his own clothes off with a chaos akin to a tornado, he then began to undress you. Jake was taking his time, making sure he touched every inch of your body. Once you were undressed, you walked to the bed and laid down. He pulled your legs off the bed and threw them over his shoulders then looked up at you with a questioning glance. You nodded quickly and he began to devour you, you were very sensitive so it didn’t take long for you to cum, but Jake didn’t stop there. He decided you were going to cum again before he entered you. He inserted two fingers into your vagina and began pumping them in and out of you. When you started moaning, he swallowed them all with kisses. He took this as a sign to speed up and curl his fingers. With each thrust of his fingers, you were closer to cumming. With one final moan, you came again.
“Honey, do you want to stop?” You gave a nod no, so he lined his cock up with your entrance. When he finally let himself enter you, rather slowly because he was worried about your comfort and pleasure first and foremost. Then he began to talk you through it, and that’s when your hunch was confirmed. Something he did before, but now it meant more to you. He was so tender and supportive when it came to you, but was also ready to kill for you in an instant. “You look so good, baby. I can’t believe how much sexier you’ve gotten since you’ve gotten pregnant. Your breasts got bigger, so you can feed our baby, and maybe me. Your belly is all swollen with my child, our child. I might just have to keep you pregnant after this, that way everyone knows you’re mine.” You blushed at his admission. Although you felt a little nervous at the decision to have a child, thinking it would mess your career up, Jake made it better. He made everything better.

Age difference modern AU, part 3.1
Tumblr media
20 year old student John and 30 year old professor Gale (top John, bottom Gale, no vers)
Part 1 = Part 2
The third and final part turned out to be very long, so it will be divided into subparts.
It seems that John's declaration of love should make meetings with him more pleasant and easier, but somehow it breaks the entire clear order of things in their relationship.
At first, everything was clear to Gale: he will date John until he decides to break up with him. And Gale accepts these rules of the game. He will be hurt and lonely and he will live the rest of his life savoring the memories of meetings with this guy.
But now John, like a tornado, bursts into Gale's harmonious, understandable and acceptable plans and destroys them to the ground. He tempts him with the fact that their story can have a continuation. It can have a continuation, but Gale will have to make a choice. This thought scares him.
=====
"Sorry, I have a deadweight today," John says apologetically.
A girl of about 10 years old looks out from behind him, and immediately adds confidently, "Hey, who are you calling a deadweight here?"
Gale thinks that she looks incredibly like John, dark hair, blue squinting eyes, the same lopsided confident smile. She has band-aids on both knees and on her forehead, and a huge, bright backpack on her back.
"Hi, I'm Gale," he says and reach out his hand to the girl.
She looks at him appraisingly, just openly examining him from head to toe, and then looks at John with incomprehension, as if some puzzle in her head cannot come together.
In the end, she shrugs and replies, "Oh well. I'm Eileen."
She grabs his hand for a second with small, noticeably sticky fingers, as if she had been holding something sweet in them before.
Gale shudders from the stickiness on her fingers. Or does he do it because the age difference between John and Eileen and the fact that John is too tall even for his age creates the impression that he is not her brother, but her father. This impression is not destroyed by their similar appearance and the girl’s confident behavior, in which John’s influence is clearly visible. This sends a chill down Gale’s spine. And a strange melancholy that he does not understand. What a lie, he understands everything.
"Mom’s car broke down, Dad is at work, so I have to take her to painting, sorry," John shrugs apologetically.
Gale, for some reason, does the same in response, "It’s okay, it’s not a problem."
In the last minute, all three of them shrugged their shoulders and it seemed that it was not only Gale who noticed, because they all looked at each other and John suddenly burst out laughing, stretching his lips in his branded wolfish smile, Gale and the little girl responded in kind and the tension of the moment instantly disappeared.
"Eileen, you can take care of yourself for half an hour before class starts, right? There are a lot of kids here you know, you’ll have a good time…" John asks. "Because we’re in a hurry."
The girl looks at John and then at Gale, and in a tone that sounds too mocking for a girl her age says, "If my body will be found in some vacant lot later, you’ll regret this half an hour for the rest of your life."
Gale’s mouth drops open in surprise, and John rolls his eyes in irritation, "Okay, you little pest, we’ll all wait here together."
"No," Eileen says confidently. "Gale and I are waiting here. You go and get us some ice cream."
John's face turned red with irritation, "I DON’T WANT ICE CREAM!" Gale can’t help but giggle. "I want to mind my own business!"
"Great. Bring some ice cream for Gale and me then, and I’ll have two."
"And why would I want to do that?!"
"So I won’t tell our father that you’re emptying his stash of cigarettes in the garage," Eileen says calmly.
John and Gale exchange glances and Gale is amused by the despair in his lover’s eyes.
"You know how strict our mother is with him about smoking and that stash is his only joy… He doesn’t suspect you because you don’t live with us, but if he finds out… He’ll be shocked if he finds out that it’s practically empty," Eileen says sadly. "How can he survive such a betrayal from a family member?"
"But I’ll give it all back soon, it’s just…."
"You’ll give the cigarettes back, but the trust…" Eileen points into the distance, "The store is over there, don’t be late."
John walks towards the ice cream shop, defeated.
When they are alone, Eileen takes off her huge backpack, sits down on a bench and turns her attention to Gale, it suddenly makes him feel a little uncomfortable.
"You’re not like other Bucky's girls," Eileen says straight away. That’s what she and John have in common, they both get straight to the point.
Gale’s jaw hits the ground. And he makes a slurred excuse, trying to maintain his composure, "Probably because I’m not Bucky’s girl."
The girl clicks her tongue, looking at Gale, it’s strange and unpleasant for him, but he doesn’t sense any hostility in her.
"Yeah, that’s for sure. You’re a guy. And you’re old enough to be his father."
Gale feels like he's sweating all over in his nice new suit he bought because he thinks John would love the way the jacket accentuates his narrow waist and the pants accentuate his long legs. His heart is pounding like he just ran a marathon.
"Uh… I… Well… I… Oh my god… Definitely not old enough to be his father… " Gale mutters.
"Come on, don't be so nervous, you're okay. Weird, but okay. But that's not what I meant when I said you aren't like other Bucky's girls. And then you started lying to me, didn't anyone tell you you shouldn't lie to kids?"
"But I wasn't lying, I…"
"But you understood me, right, even if I said it wrong…?" Gale went silent. "You’re not like other Bucky's girls because Bucky's been on more than one date with you."
This isn't what Gale expected to hear at all, and her words make him feel a little warmer, and something tingles in his heart.
"What makes you think this is a date?"
The girl snorts, "He's clean-shaven, washed, and he smells like perfume from a block away, it can only be a date!"
When John returns out of breath with ice cream, Eileen and Gale are sitting on a bench, chatting like old friends. He eyes them suspiciously before handing them each an ice cream. He ostentatiously shoves the third ice cream into his mouth in front of his sister and chews it, she makes a face of disgust, and Gale laughs.
=====
After two rounds of sex, they are lying in bed, giving their bodies a break. Gale is lying on his stomach, his chin resting on his palm, and he can't shut up about meeting John's little sister earlier today.
John is lying next to him, very close, he was on top of him a couple of minutes ago, pounding into his body like there was no tomorrow, that's why he still can't leave his body completely, his hand is absentmindedly stroking Gale's lower back, fighting the urge to go lower, slide between his buttocks and touch the tender pink hole, oozing with his cum at the moment.
They have been having sex without a condom for a while now, and John is trying to pretend that everything is as always, this is an ordinary thing, but all he can think about after that is watching - touching - licking his own taste from Gale's well-fucked hole. He fills his lover's body with cum, as it should be, and it stirs something feral in John's soul, something uncontrollably animalistic. It's an instinct as old as life itself. Something so overwhelming that John loses the ability to think clearly for a while.
And Gale at this time talks about his little sister. And John would be lying if he said that this does not irritate him.
He removes his hand from the small of Gale's back, which he wants to kiss, and asks sharply, "Do you like kids?"
Gale chokes on the next word in fear and freezes for a couple of seconds.
"I'm a teacher, Bucky. Of course I like kids," he finally gets the words out, his tone trying to be light and nonchalant, but John can still sense the nervous tension in him.
"You're a college teacher, Buck," he snorts, "and I'm talking about the kind of kids who are…uh…kids. "
"I like kids, Bucky, if that’s what you’re asking about." Gale turns to John and speaks more softly, "You’re asking about your sister, right? Don’t be afraid, I’m not some kind of perv. I… it’s just… You’re right, I don’t deal with kids often, to tell the truth I’ve probably lost my skills, it’s just that she’s so… I had no idea you had a sister like that. She’s so smart, and perceptive, and… straightforward. I forgot that kids could be like that." His tone is almost gentle, and for some reason Gale now wants to touch John, to be in his arms, somewhere warm and safe, where there are no bad or sad thoughts.
But John is still irritated and he doesn’t read Gale’s need, so he asks, "If you love kids so much, then why don’t you and Marge have any?"
And for Gale, who was currently looking for comfort and safety, it's like a hard slap in the face. He sits up abruptly on the bed, leaning on one arm and pressing the other to his chest, as if he feels pain. John shouldn’t ask him about this. What can he tell him? That their marriage with Marge seems so illusory between them that neither of them has brought it up in 10 years? That they think they still have time for this? What if someone doesn’t want to? What if someone can’t? What if Gale carries with him such baggage of an unwanted and unloved child in the family that he is terrified of the thought of repeating that fate, but this time as a parent?
He's not sure he wants to have a child with Marge. And that unsureness immediately reminds him of another man who had kids because he had to, not because he wanted them - his father. What if he treats his child the same way his father treated him?
Gale was a lonely and unhappy child who nevertheless naively believed that everything would be completely different for him. That he will love the person with whom he will create a family more than anything in the world and their children will be wanted and loved and will never feel what Gale felt as a child - needlessness.
It took him a while to realize that the universe doesn't work that way and his fantasies will forever remain just fantasies, that he will never be able to have children from the person he loves, and he is afraid to have them from the person he does not.
"You can’t just ask people things like that," he whispers. "That’s rude."
John watches him. Gale is defeated, miserable, and vulnerable right now. He could leave, run away, leaving John alone with his stupid questions. But he sits there, hunched over, facing away from his lover, and… waits. And John can fix everything now. Put his hand on his back, stroke it soothingly up and down his spine, move closer to him, pause respectfully, and kiss his shoulder gently, then his neck, press his large body against his back, wrap his strong arms around his thin waist, and pull him closer, whispering, "I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you."
And John wants to do it, he already stretches out his hand to stroke Gale on the back, but then the demon of his inner voice whispers, "Yes, Bucky, who are you in his life to ask about such things? Be a good boy and shut your mouth, you are here for his fun, and not to ask uncomfortable questions".
And John pulls his hand back and says, "Well, I am not asking this random people on the street, but you."
Gale abruptly gets up from the bed, he is tense as a string, "That is none of your business, John."
And Gale goes to the bathroom, John watches as a silvery trail of his own cum flows down his lover's thigh.

Til’ Sea Do Us Part
Arthur Curry (Aquaman) x Black Female Reader
Summary: After being in a complicated fling with Arthur, you take a much needed vacation to clear your head. But when your vacation uncovers an unexpected surprise, what will you do once confronted?
Warning(s): L Bombs, Hair pulling, Smut, Degrading, Praise
Word Count: 4.7k
Grabbing a shirt from the big pile of clothes on your bed, you fold it up and place it in your suitcase. Packing had to be the worst part of going on any vacation, your room would always be left in a total wreck afterwards.
“Knock knock.”
You sigh, already knowing who would have the nerve to knock on your door and actually say the words 'knock, knock'.
“What.”
You say, knowing who was at your door before you ever opened it because there’s only one person who knocks like that.
“Am I disturbing you.” He pushes past you and goes to your kitchen.
“Actually, yes. You are.” He rolls his shoulders as he cracks a beer he got from your fridge.
“Too bad. What are you doing anyway.” He leans over, seeing the tornado in your room. Going in it, he immediately sees the suitcase.
“You’re leaving?” A serious statement finally leaves his mouth.
“Yeah?” You go back to folding and packing.
“Where are you going.”
He crosses his arms, demanding a response.
“Wow. You never listen to me.” You huff, being more aggressive with your clothes.
“What do you mean. Yeah I do, all the time unfortunately.” You roll your eyes, walking up to him and his arms relax at his sides.
“If you did you would know where I am going.” You shove a pair of pants into his chest, pointing to your dresser.
“Third drawer.”
“Don’t do this to me now. It had to be a while ago.”
He chugs his beer and quickly throws it away. Well to be fair, you did tell him around a month and a half ago so it has been a minute.
“A cruise. I’m going away on a cruise, Arthur.”
Done with the outfits you start packing panties and bras.
“Yeah, with your best friend. See, I do listen.” You chuckle in the slightest.
“Whatever you say.”
You take a few from your drawer and place them in two piles.
“Woah! What are you planning to do with those panties?” He points to a dark green lace panties you have in your hands.
“I’m a grown woman, Arthur.” He shakes his head and snatches your underwear.
“I’m gonna need you to keep it pg on this cruise.” He says stretching his arm up so its impossible for you to reach your underwear.
“Stop being a child and give me that.” You hold out your hand and he stares down at you not letting up.
“Come on! I don’t have time to play around, the boat is leaving this evening.”
You reach up, putting your hand on his shoulder, “Please,” You plead, he sighs and finally hands it to you.
Zipping up your suitcase, you roll it in the hallway by the front door. You shove him out your room, “Aria will literally kill me if I’m late.”
“It won’t be the end of the world.” He tries to persuade you to let him stay but you are relentless.
“No. But it will be the end of our vacation.” He turns to you in your doorway, towering over you.
“A moment can’t hurt…come on.”
He leans down mere centimeters from your lips. Temptation calls out to you, just one moment won’t hurt. You put your lips against his. A peck is all that could be managed with how fast you pulled away.
“Arthur, I can’t do this.” You keep your distance with your hand on his chest.
“What do you mean? Its a kiss.” He bites his lip, thinking about that teasing peck.
“A kiss that turns into touching, that turns into sex, that turns into you…not wanting a relationship after you rocked my world the night before,” You see the guilt in his eye,
“We tried that whole thing and it didn’t work. I know what I want and I’m not settling for less.” He runs his fingers through his hair.
“I rocked your world, huh?” He smugly says, but the unamused look on your face says that this isn’t the time to joke.
“Bottom line is, you’re not ready for commitment.” You take a deep breath, slowly closing the door on him.
“So I’m going to pack matching lace sets, short dresses and swimsuits that shouldn’t be labeled as such because I’m not casual sex, I am a person that deserves to be valued and not seen as a personal fuck toy.”
You closed the door on him, not letting him issue a response. It needs to sink in for him. You met up with Aria and got on the cruise, as soon as you both got your bags sent to your room you changed into swimsuits and lounged on the top deck by the pool.
“and I told him, I’m not casual sex, I deserve to be valued as a woman.” You tell her, taking a sip of your margarita.
“I know thats right. It was long overdue. You let him get away with too much shit.”
You take out the straw and down the drink, sighing.
“He fucks so good.” She laughs at your blunt words.
“And he can be sweet from time to time. He checks off all the boxes and I mean all.”
She opens her mouth to ask you further questions but ultimately takes you word for it. Continuing to listen you ramble on.
“He just can’t commit. Its always something and its always me!” A worker picks up your empty glass and asks if you want another.
“Pina colada with extra vodka please.” They nod to you.
“Darling, that’s just men. There’s always something wrong when you find the “perfect” guy. Whether that be snoring or in-laws. Sometimes I wonder if life was easier when we were dating women.”
She puts on her shades.
“For now lets tan or get darker in our case and we’ll continue this conversation in the room. I can feel the conservative stares.”
You chuckle at her and smile closing your eyes.A few days in and your battling a crazy hangover. You were in the Bahamas for two days, Aria had family there so she spent time with them while you recovered. You got food and everything but you stayed in the room.
“When you see him after the cruise, tell him how you feel and if he isn’t honest with you then forget him for wasting your time.”
Her words repeated in your head, thats one thing you could depend on her for. Telling you what you needed to hear, no matter how much you hated it. Looking out on the balcony from the comfort of your bed, the sun was long gone and the moon shined on the ocean. You contemplated going out to the deck party but you didn’t want to push your luck, you were convinced you were one shot away from throwing up if you didn’t recover properly.
“I guess drinking my problems away only does so much.” You smack your pillow over your face.
A banging was irritating you and the tv wasn’t doing enough. Getting out the bed you drink some water from the fridge and the banging continues, at this point it wasn’t in your head. Looking around, you figured that it was coming from the balcony door. Opening the locked door, you’re immediately backed into the room.
“I can handle those little outfits you wear but body shots is where I draw the line.” He says as he locks the door behind him.
“How did you get here?” You ask, jaw dropped.
“And you saw my story?” He looks at you from head to toe and shifts his stance.
“Of course I saw it. Me and 600 other people.” You nod.
“Why are you here? Did you get so horny, you had to track me down?” You cross your arms over your chest.
“No, don’t be ridiculous. Thats not the reason I came. I came because-“
“-Let me stop you right there. You came all this way somehow. Cut to the chase.” You tell him sternly with your finger placed against his lips, having a strong feeling he was on the verge of ranting.
“Can I kiss you?” He asks, not making any moves yet.
“No, you cannot.”
Who were you kidding of course you wanted to kiss him, honestly kissing barely touched the surface of what you wanted him to do to you.
“I understand. My life was a mess the week you were away. I found out I was a potential royal air to Atlantis, my half brother reeked havoc on the surface, tried to kill me in a duel, I found my mom, became king and I had a few near death experiences on the way.”
That is hard to follow up. Staring at him, your jaw slightly drops to his summary.
“This all happened in a week?” You exclaim in clear bewilderment. Processing everything he said to you, you smile to him.
“You found your mom.”
He smirks, you know how much it means to him to finally be with his mom. He always talked about how he wanted to at least have a conversation with her, he wanted her to see his growth and now he finally has that.
“So you’re a king?” He hums to your question, “Hopefully they know what they’re in for,” He nudges you, chuckling at your remark. Noticing how close you are to him, your breathing slows.
“I thought about what you said and is that really what you think? I see you as a sex toy?” You take a steady step back, your mind sways in distaste at those words leaving his mouth.
“You can reassure me all you want but your actions say so much.”
The eye contact was intense, he was looking for a lie something that told him you were lying but there was nothing. You were telling the truth. At this he practically collapsed on the bed, his hands stabilizing himself on his knees.
“Y/n, I don’t know what to say. What can I say?” He laughs sarcastically to himself.
“I don’t see you as a sex toy. I never did. Ever. I just…I have issues and I know you deserve way better than what I have to give you. But I want you. I always did, still do and I tried to stop, move on but that didn’t work.”
He says pouring out his truth to you. You know exactly what he’s talking about. That long night you two shared together, he lost his restraint? Pushing his hair back, he watches as your face goes through so much realization at once.
“I can work on my commitment issues. I can grow, I can mature. I will do whatever I possibly can to be a fraction of the man you need.”
You’ve never heard him speak about his feelings and issues so much. When you tried he would always change the subject but he was facing it head on. Whatever he’s been through definitely changed him for the better.
“Arthur.”
His name lingers on your lips as you move closer, standing directly in front of him. Doing your best to hold back tears, you take a breath.
“I-I…” The words couldn’t manifest on your tongue as you burst into tears. Wiping the tears away, you see him staring at you and embarrassment fills your whole being.
“I’m sorry. I need a moment.” You go to the bathroom in a rush.
Looking in the mirror, you shake your head. Crying in front of him had to be a new low. In the two years, you’ve cried over the whole mess of a relationship you both had, if you can even call it that, but you never cried in front of him. At all. He sat in shock. What did he say? Did he say the wrong things? His mother told him to speak from the heart and thats what he did. The whole thing is so overwhelming. When you saw him, you were determined to break things off but now you can’t bring yourself to do it. As corny as it might sound, it would feel like a piece of you was taken if you were to do it. Pulling yourself together, you grab a tissue, open the door and there he was ready to knock.
“I’m at a lost for words,” You sniffle, blowing your nose, “I was holding onto this for two years, just to hear you say that as I was ready to break this off.” He backs up as you get out the bathroom. His face visually drained, the optimism he had before now disappeared.
“Do you mean it?” You hiccup and he perks up, “I don’t want you saying all this to get in my pants.” You point to him and he puts his hands up, shaking his head.
“I mean it. I do. Sex didn’t even cross my mind.” You grace him with a small smile, complimented with puff eyes and tear stains.
Slowly he cups your cheeks, wiping your face with his thumbs. Leaning into you, he kisses the top of your head and hugs you. Rapping your arms under his arms, he holds you tightly and close to his chest. Stroking your head.
“I’m so glad you’re safe.” He mutters into your bonnet. The embrace was loving as if he was deathly afraid of losing you.
“I don’t want you to keep crying so let's stop talking about feelings for now.” You chuckle into his chest, looking up to him.
“I agree.”
You both figured things out yet tension was still in the air. Jealousy was somehow in the air. Shifting his head down, he kisses you. It’s no mediocre or shy kiss it was demanding and wanting. He was fully in the moment and so were you. Moving your arms up, you hooked them around his neck and he moved his down to your waist. Forcing his tongue in your mouth, he takes a breath through his nose. Drinking you in, squeezing your waist to make sure this moment is real. He went through so much just to recognize a great woman like you and understand not to let you go. This is the perfect moment. The moment for him to prove himself to you in this new relationship. Breaking away from the kiss, you hum as you lean your head back.
His kisses trail down your neck. Erratic patterns all over it, with the way he’s moving you know the hickeys will be more than visible even with your melanin skin. His touch is burning on your cold skin, you’re convinced steam is radiating off you with every touch and kiss.
“mm, arthur.”
You breathe out, sigh of relief leaving your lips as your shorts slide down your legs. He stops briefly, making sure you want this. Looking down to you, tenderness is seen in his eyes.
“touch me arthur.” You strip your skimpy shirt, revealing the matching set he was teasing you about.
“Keep talking to me like that and you might not like what I do.” He smiles, gripping you by the thighs and dumping you on the bed.
“This is your favorite color isn’t it?” You tempt him, the green lace on your body the physical representation of temptation.
The amount of wetness piling up in your underwear clearly amusing and exciting him as you hear a grunt rumble from his chest. Eyeing your body with a burning flame and pouncing on you, crawling on top of you. The bikini line that shows under your bra, your brown skin turning a shade darker from the sun, your tired hungover gaze and your curves. The dips on either side of your hips, the little chub on your stomach thats perfectly proportionate to your thighs and your soft shiny skin.
He notices everything, the inside of your thighs were calling to him, blinding him with the sparkly trail of wetness that left your cunt, your cute aching cunt. He shouldn’t be rewarding you, he thought, he should be punishing you for leaving him with a painful boner every time he saw you. But punishing is for another day, tonight is all about making everything up to you. Goodness are you attractive, your beauty alone makes him forget about every problem, every responsibility he has. All he thinks about is you when you’re in his view. He ran his hands over your body, soft touches from your knees to the inside of your thighs to tight squeezes at the sides of your stomach to light rubbing on your arms.
Reaching behind your back, he unclips your bra taking a good look at your breasts as he throws the clothing to the side. His hands cup your chest and you roll your eyes, slapping your hands on top of his to ensure he doesn’t move them. A cocky smirk plays at his lips as he leans down into your ear.
“tell me what you want,” he breaths lowly against your cheek, a moan falling from your lips as his knee nudges your clit.
“I want you to fuck me. Fuck me into the sheets. Please, please, pretty please.”
Your desperation meets no ends as you immediately beg him, you’ve experienced his strokes before, you know what you’re in for and thats what makes this even more of a tease.
"I guess I should give you what you want. Since you asked so nicely.”
You nod repeatedly as finger plays with the hem of your underwear. Yanking them down your legs, you kick them down, flinging them off them bed. You make things too easy for him, who needs foreplay when you’re so wet. Pushing a finger in your tight hole, its goes in without a problem. Unbuckling his pants, he takes them off and pushes them to the floor. Cock on full display for you, rubbing his soaked finger on the head of his dick, his breath shuddered. Pumping his dick a few times, he makes sure he’s his hardest for you before lining up with your hole.
You tap your stomach in anticipation, waiting patiently to be filled up with his big cock. Pushing through your squeezing he groans, halfway through he stops to take a few deep breaths.
“I missed your hole.” He grunts lowly, sounding pussy drunk when not even his tip is inside.
“Your pretty little pussy.”
His hand reaches down rubbing your clit as he hastily bullies his way inside your gummy walls. Your toes curl at the stretch and you feel the coil in your tummy winding up with each moment he's inside you.
“no one...m'..can fuck- fuck me like you.”
You gasp as he leans down, moving out of you and pushing in, he smirks. You’ve been craving this even if you never wanted to admit it out loud, you were singing like a canary for him and he couldn’t have loved it more.
“miss me, baby?” His hips pulled back and snapped forward, finally finding a sinful stroke.
He was knocking into you like he didn’t travel thousands of miles to see you on this boat. Speaking of, the rough currents of the deepest waters couldn’t touch the way he thirstily thrusted into you. The hangover will be the least of your worries later. Tightening your legs around his waist, your nails move across his back, threatening to break the skin barrier, shortened moans leaving your lips as wind is knocked out of your lungs with every move of his hips. He was determined to fuck that bonnet off your head so he can pull on your braids, making you tell him you love him, he knows you do. Why would you put so much effort into a person and relationship if you didn’t, but he was executing this step by step.
“w-wow.. A-arthur.” Your core was twisting and churning, your fingers could not match up to the climax you’re about to get from this man. His words are now registering to you.
“I did…m-miss you. Oh fuck. Yes! I did.” You whine in his arms, his hand tries pushing your legs down, all you can do is smile as he looks you in the eyes. Trapping him in a tight hold, your cunt soaks his dick, his tip curving and scraping the top of your g spot. Your nails scratched down his entire back as you came down from your high, moaning.
Prying your legs off him, he sits up, resting them on his shoulders. All the while watching as your face twists up from the sensitivity, the skin slapping matched with his balls hitting your ass over and over makes you want to stay on this boat forever.
“You’re so tight. Loosen up a little.” He asks as his movements slow down, he knows you’re doing it on purpose now.
“I don’t want to hurt you.” He says referring to him getting lost in you, shaking your head you grab his hand and interlock your fingers.
“its okay…” You smile to him and your hooded eyes gave away how dick drunk you are but if you say you’re okay then you’re okay. Keeping the slow pace, he pounds into you. The position mocked missionary and your soul honestly can’t take anymore of him staring into you with his piercing eyes. His other hand made its way to your head as he flipped you into another position, pulling off your bonnet and he holds onto your braids.
“Arthur!” You wince, head being pulled back and your back forced to arch, he had you on all fours. Right where he wanted you.
“do you have to be…this rough?” You whine and grunt as he holds your braids tighter. He’s considerate of where to pull your hair, so he doesn’t yank out your braids.
“What makes you think you don’t deserve it? I could do much worse. If you want that.” He says to you in between pants, his voice hitting a dangerous low in your ear. The promising opportunity leaving a smirk on your lips. Hitting your high once again, your body tingles all over, it felt like butterflies but more intense. Its confusing, isn’t it a tad bit too late for butterflies at this rate? he’s literally inside you.
“Tell me something.” He gathers your attention, pulling you completely out of your bliss and thoughts as his pace reaches a halt.
“And don’t lie to me.” He speaks deeply into your right ear, a message only meant for you to hear as his hand goes down and cups your mound.
“Do you love me?”
You bite your tongue, wincing at the pain. Out of all the things he could say…he said that.
“Is now really the time-“ You turn your head to the side, able to see him out the corner of your eye.
“Yes. Now is the time.” His expression is neutral, no joking or anything of the sorts, he is 100% looking for a truthful answer. You sigh.
“I do love you.”
The silence consumed the both of you as you stood on the bed in fucking position. Was that the answer he’s looking for?
“Say it again.”
He demands, rubbing on your clit as he grips your hair tightly.
“I love you.”
You bite back moaning the words, your fingers tangling in the sheets more and more.
“Again.”
Your legs cross at the ankles as you forcefully squeeze him in you, his fingers on your clit isn’t nearly enough.
“I love you, Arthur.” You exclaim, swallowing heavily and he shifts forward, his beard tickling your shoulder and cheek.
“I love you too.” He says in your ear, a smirk painted on his lips, as he kisses your cheek, neck and shoulder. Taking in a deep breath, you grin.

Breathing in and out, you sniffle at the hair that went up your nostril. Moving the hair out your face, you shift on the pillow, basically hiding your face in it. Nothing registered for you yet, for all you care its a regular morning in bed. A slight chill on your neck causes you to shrug and blink your eyes open, turning over your eyes focus on the surroundings.
“Look who’s finally awake.” She says in an sarcastic tone, looking up from scrolling on her phone.
“when did you get back?” You ask in a whisper, your throat sore as hell.
“Last night, although I had to take a detour because of all the ruckus you were making in here.”
She was definitely waiting for you to wake up to tease you. Letting out a short embarrassed giggle, you wave her off.
“you sound like an old lady.” She chuckles at your comment and sighs.
“could you pass me a shirt, I’m pretty naked.” Aria throws a shirt at your head, slipping it on, you sit up and look next to you. Arthur is passed out cold with a raging case of bedhead, the sight is one to be photographed and framed. Stretching and rolling your shoulders, you blink slowly as if your brain is still mush.
“Never thought I’d see the day where an underwear would be flung on my bed.”
You laugh, holding your stomach as she points to the panties she placed on the table in-between both beds.
“So thats where I kicked it.” Getting out the bed, you grab the underwear and put it with your dirty stuff, putting on new undies.
“What time is it?” You ask, picking up the clothes on the floor, folding his up nicely and placing them on the foot of the bed.
“11:42” You nod, stifling a yawn as you scratch your head.
“What on earth did you do to him?”
She utters, genuinely concerned as she stands over him, eyeing the visible hickeys, bites and marks all over him.
“Someone was hungry.”
“Do you ever get tired of teasing me.”
You ask, half rhetorical and half serious. Lifting up to stretch your stiff limbs as you watch her movements.
“Nope, you know what else I never get tired of?”
“Wine.” Your tired voice mixed with her joyous voice in a harmonious yet comedic way.
“So if you’ll excuse me, I have a wine tasting to get to.”
She grabs her purse and waves you off as she leaves the room. A sharp pain hits you in your bladder and you run to the bathroom. As you use the toilet, the pain leaves your stomach and you go back into the room.
“Good morning.” His raspy morning voice just makes you want to crawl under his skin.
“Good morning.” You shoot him a warm smile as he motions you to come closer. Standing by the bed, he reaches up and traces your jawline, rubbing your chin with his finger tips.
Pulling you down to his level to kiss you tenderly, a low moan leaving your lips, his hand moving up underneath your shirt to squeeze your hip.
“How are you feeling?” He breaks the kiss, sits up and off the bed in his boxers.
“I’m good, my stomach is hurting a bit but I’ll live.”
“Where is it hurting?” He helps you lift up your shirt and watches as you point to the area below your belly button.
“Somewhere here.” You grunt softly, accidentally touching the sore spot.
“Here?”
You shake your head.
“Here?”
You see what he’s doing, one hand trying to point out the problem and the other caressing your back, making its way to your butt.
“Here??”
He stares at your stomach, glancing at you for a moment, making you chuckle and utter a no. Your eyes go wide as he gropes your ass, playfully grabbing his wrist, you shake your head.
“You’re not slick.” You chuckle with him.
“Relax, I’m trying to assess your situation, so be a good patient and stay still.” He cackles mid sentence and finds his composure.
“The whore is jumping out, Arthur.” He bursts out laughing as you reach up to fix his hair, pulling down your shirt, you put on your shorts and point to his clothes.
“Let’s get some breakfast, I’m hungry.”
You tell him as your stomach rumbles. Putting on his clothes from last night, he turns to you as he messes with his hair.
“I’ll have to leave soon.” He warns you and you nod.
“Time is money then.” You grin, grabbing your phone and walking to the door with him close behind, before you open the door he spins you around.
“I love you.”
He gives you a kiss on the cheek and one on your lips.
“I love you too.”
You kiss him back several times as if you weren’t sure the others were up to par.
“Alright now we can go.” He says while opening the door for you and putting on some shades.
“Is that mine?” You ask as you walk through the hallway to the elevators, fingers interlocked.
“Yeah.”
