OC Fact #28
Switch, thanks to Vivian's urging, has completed the ritual to get a familiar of his own.
Shift is the name of his familiar, and they...had a rocky start at first. It turns out changelings really don't like being magically bound to a person, and Switch honestly doesn't blame Shift.
Vivian thought it would be a good idea to get Switch a changeling familiar because changelings are powerful, and she wanted to help her grandson get over his fears of magical creatures- changelings specifically.
She did not anticipate that Shift could also make Switch's life a spiteful hell.

'Life in the hands of Helio'
Warning for graphic description of gore + injury below
↓
[Image Description:
With his throat slit, blood bubbling up into his mouth and soaking into his white collared shirt, Buddy Dawn struggles in the arms of Kristen Applebee's. His eyes are wide, unseeing, and hands come up to try and grasp onto Kristen as some kind of anchor, mutedly pleading for help.
Kristen's hand hovers above his throat, unable to help him with his death all but promised by his own party leader, Kipperlilly, and her god too far out of reach. She is panicked and resigned to only hold the kid she had hated moments ago. There is no miracle, no burst of light from the crystals in her pocket, when Buddy Dawn dies.
There is a visual parallel, with both Kristen and Buddy being dotted with freckles and something familiar in their eyes. If there had never been 'The Bad Kids', if she'd never asked to be put in detention with the intent to convert people to Helio, would she have ended up the same way?
Buddy had once said "I don't hold on tight, 'cause I'm in someones hand [...] You know Helio is holding onto us tight." but there is no Helio in sight, only Kristen. All that is left is for Buddy to go and meet his so-called-god and ask why he let him die, unaware he will not get an answer.]

Sauron: Aha, who is now in possession of the One Ring? A common soldier? Perfect; they will be tempted by dreams of conquest, wealth and power! But... wait, what is happening? Why is the tempation not affecting them? What sort of lowly human could possibly resist my power?
Sam Vimes, chucking the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom before striding off to get home before 6pm: Bloody stupid piece of jewelery-

OC Fact #59
Night and Day (both it/they) are the beings that guard over, well, the night and day. They don't often interact with mortals, but every so often they touch the Earth at the summer and winter solstice.
The first one to disappear was Day. It took Night months to notice, but when they did, they vowed to find and tear apart whoever would take Day from them.
Night came to Earth during the winter solstice of the same year, and encountered the being that took Day. And Night, too, disappeared.
The cycles continued even without them. Almost no gods noticed they were missing. But the sky was left vulnerable, and she suffered without them.

I’d like to think all the other teachers at Aguefort hate Bobby Dawn’s ass immediately.
Porter is giving him death glares in the staff room. Tiberia doesn’t even acknowledge him whenever he’s in her line of sight. Lucilla, who is usually so kind, gives him side eyes in the hall, cuz bard classes are so gay and he’s homophobic. Jace avoids talking to him at all costs despite technically being the only person Bobby can go to for questions about the job. Henry seems more timid but even he is clearly upset at at this man’s general existence. And those are the ones who aren’t even openly hostile.
Zara only does night classes but whenever she does sees him she hisses. No one’s ever seen Terpsichore angry, but they have now. He made some of the younger queer students cry and Jawbone yells at him in full view of the student body. Corsica is so so close to beating this man up. They all miss Yolanda
