Working on WereKat AU and giving the villain roles to Marik and Zorc (Yami B). Marik is a King with a superiority complex and Zorc is just an asshole.

I think I need to do their designs next. This should be fun. I already have a few outfit refs that are fashionably King-worthy for Marik. For Zorc, I am going straight-up Zorkura in his aesthetic. Undecided if he'll have the horns and tail, but the stilettos are a must.

Au, where on a journey to visit Atem, the Yu-gang and Ryou somehow end up in the shadow realm. They get rounded up by a furious Zorc who goes on about a monologue featuring the horrible acts of atrocities he's going to commit against them until he's suddenly interrupted by a very angry tkb.

They get into an argument that gives the Yu-gang enough of a leeway to make an escape back into the shadows. After some time, tkb finds them and explains that due to a technicality, he was able to take some power away from Zorc and make it his own because he went to Hathor and he was able to get his and Zorc's deal recognised as a marriage contract. Hathor overwrote the terms a little, and basically, as long as tkb stays "married" to Zorc, he is considered a minor deity, and Zorc can not raise a harming hand against him. After a brief discussion, he helps them get back to the duat.

Stuff happens, it turns out that Atem isn't in the afterlife and Yugi freaks out. They get back to the world of the living, and Ryou recruits tkb to help them find the pharaoh in exchange for his worship.

Did I mention that this is a gravityshipping au, and Zorc gets cucked? XD

Malik eventually enters the picture, and he is basically the catalyst that kicks off the relationship. There's also a thing where tkb can't really leave the shadow realm, so they have to get creative with their dates.

Zorc. Hands down. Sexy demon man with a massive dragon peen.

Easy. Marik is one of the ugliest characters I have ever seen and it's mostly because of his damn clothes.

His shirt? Ugly.

His pants? Ugly

His hair? Fried to a fucking crisp.

I once saw someone say I shouldn't insult Marik's Barbie shirt and that pissed me off so fucking much because Barbie wouldn't even think about wearing something so egregiously hideous. Barbie would give Marik a new wardrobe because of how ugly his clothes are. She would give him a new hairstyle just so no one would have to look at his bleached ass fried edges.

Barbie would tell him that he is a fucking fashion disaster and all of her friends would agree.

His body also just isn't that attractive to me because there is so much inconsistency.

He's thin, but then he's moderately muscular.

His tits are massive but his waist is snatched.

He's either jacked, or he's a twig.

I can't reasonably call him attractive when he has 8 different body types in the same goddam week. Be a normal guy and be fit in the summer and unhealthy in the winter!

His face also goes through too many inconsistencies.

Sometimes his face looks like a Ryou recolor, sometimes he has a thinner more masculine face. Sometimes his face is more feminine. Sometimes he's got pupils.

There isn't enough consistency for me to say that I can find this man attractive.

That being said, he's only hot when he's drawn moderately muscular. At least in my opinion since that's what I'm attracted to.

New WereKat AU stuff! This time it's the main bad guys for the story! Well...more like the assholes of the story lol

First up, we have Amir's brother, King Marik.

Marik became King of the Kemati Nation after his father passed away (under some very mysterious circumstances). There was already some growing dissent from the people of his nation towards the royal house, and since Marik attained the crown, that dissent has only grown louder.

It probably doesn't help that Marik has a bit of a devil in his ear...

Meet Ryou's brother, Zorc of House Necrophades.

Zorc is...Zorc. Unlike Ryou, he is proud to be from and ancient line and he goes the extra step to flaunt his status. He has no qualms walking around with his thrall in tow for when he's in the mood for a little snack. It irks him to no end to see his brother choosing a more 'pacifist' lifestyle, considering he knows the real Ryou. He feels that Ryou is tarnishing the name Necrophades, and he aims to rectify that.

Bonus (because it's hard to see in the full image due to Zorc being uber emo-goth and wearing very little color contrast), Zorc's heel-less high-heels that kinda resemble hoof-boots! (still kinda hard to see the contrast shading, but it is there)

That's all for now on these two. They will be introduced separately in the story, but by a certain point it will be obvious they are working together.

I’m imagining a Yu-Gi-Oh reboot with narrative amendments again. And now that my qpp’s seen all of Duel Monsters, I can finally post this without spoiling anything for her, but that also means I saw there were sections I forgot about. There’s plenty of other well-said critiques about Memory World, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the author himself had similar critiques, considering his health’s impact on his mental presence at the time and vice versa, so I just wanna talk about the Millennium Rod.

It’s kind of odd that we got a Dark Marik but not a Dark Kaiba, right? But what if we did and it was just misattributed?

Before more lore was canon, there was an early game in which Kaiba was possessed by the Millennium Ring; and originally, Priest Set was intended to be King Atemu’s other serious challenger besides Zorc. So what if instead of leaning into a DID stereotype, Dark Marik was more like the other two sealed souls associated with Millennium Items? I mean, he does have the eye sigil literally the entire time he’s active. That could’ve actually been Aknadin/the High Priest of Darkness from when he tried to possess Set, or there could’ve been a subplot there about Zorc affecting Set directly and that influence being sealed into the Rod, only it didn’t have sentience separate from Zorc until the Rod responded to Marik’s raw anger. Marik and Bakura have both used Millennium powers to implant themselves in secondary hosts, it’s been established before that Millennium entities can reach out remotely to a varying extent, and in season zero, Zorc’s battle injuries could grow into new minions.

Actually, Seto and Marik have a lot in common aside from an acquired taste for blood and theatrics (Seto may be anti-military in this life but in his past life he was well on his way down a path of police brutality). Both of them are inseparable from a brother who keeps them comparatively sane just by being there for them, but whom also part-time at their conscience. For either of them and their respective brother, at least one of them was adopted by the oppressive father who made both their childhoods so traumatic, and the fathers tried forcing their sons into their own dark family legacies while maintaining total control over them, which ultimately cost them their lives when their heirs did take over. And maybe it’s just that they’re wearing similar clothing, but Marik’s father does kind of look like Priest Set’s birth father.

This may fall into headcanon, but it’s also one of the amendments I’d like to see if Duel Monsters were to get a fix-it relaunch. It wouldn’t make any continuity errors I can think of up until Memory World, but it could also recontextualize some preceding details.

It would have been so great, wonderful... he wouldn't have had to deal with anything or anybody else in his body but himself... The throne had been his, almost... he could have had the world... but he had fallen down, like a beaten chess piece.

He had lost everything... his body, his mind, his freedom, every bit of power he had ever had... he wasn't even a human, he wasn't even existent anymore! The only thing he was sure of, was the poison that would surely kill him. The panic that he couldn't even really feel anymore under the layer of darkness that seeped into him through his mouth, nose, every pore in his skin, every microscopic layer of his being. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't speak... he couldn't even think.

Mariku was screaming in his head, even though he held nothing to his name anymore - not even a name - no... he was somebody - nobody, nothing, you never have been anything else but a toy - he wanted to scream into the nothingness, he couldn't even see.

He didn't know how long the darkness had been devouring him, pitting him out and started the whole process over again. He was beyond tired... his whole being was electric and in an emotion beyond pain.

He wanted to claw at his very soul - MY soul - he wasn't the darkness! - but the darkness is you - and then he was moving.

Something was moving inside of him and he was moving with it... his reality was shifting and all his senses slammed back into him at once. He let out the equivalent of a verbal shudder, before he broke down into himself, not able to support himself with his legs. Grass, leaves, hot air, s-sun light. He stared into the sun and realized it wasn't hurting him. His skin was still electric and sore and felt like something was crawling inside of him and made him a home- He fought it down and almost cried, sitting in a lush lawn, insects flying through the warm air, orange light bathing him into softness, before he got up and breathed. Just breathed for a few moments. He felt like something could put him back into his miserable place any moment and something inside of him purred at that thought.

He pushed it away and moved through the park he didn't recognize in a country, he didn't know, in the light of an evening sun that couldn't chase away the shadows that had filled his very veins and would cling to him...

Forever.
