The four Sages were called back into the past by Terrako and they remember it happening
Tulin got to meet his hero, Revali, and decided to be just like him, adopting his idol’s brash personality and drive. He practises Revali’s Gale and eventually comes up with his own way to show off his mastery of wind, and when trouble hits his home he rushes to fix it on his own to prove how strong he has become and because, like Revali, he can’t stand idly by while he knows there’s still things he can do.
For Yunobo, when he goes back and meets his ancestor Daruk, he is a very timid and reactive Goron. He needs a push from others to come up with ideas and carry plans through, and when bad things happen to him his first instinct is to use his fire magic as a shield, to wait until the threat has passed by or somebody else has come to save him. But when he is sent back in time to Divine Beast vah Rudania, for the first time he has to be the one doing the saving. Daruk encourages Yunobo and is proud of him from the moment they meet, and it’s this support that gives Yunobo the confidence to help fight against Calamity Ganon, and to start YunoboCo when he gets home.
For Sidon, meeting his family from 100 years ago is bittersweet. He is proud that he was able to protect his sister, and it’s a comfort to know there is a version of him who will grow up alongside Mipha because of his bravery and fighting prowess. But as much joy as he got from seeing her, hugging her, and hearing her voice again, it just reminds him of how unfair her death was, of just how young she was when she died and how he is now older even though he’s the younger sibling. And at the end of the war, when he’s returned to their original time, he has to readjust to her absence all over again, and in light of that is it really a shock he’d have her statue moved further away from his home? And it also explains why he’s so desperate to protect Yona from the sludge.
Riju in AoC still a new ruler to her people, despite her accomplishments in BotW, she still feels guilty over the temporary loss of the Thunder Helm and isn’t sure if she can lead the Gerudo. She has a lot of confidence but is quick to falter when things go wrong. Urbosa treats Riju as a capable fighter despite her young age, and teaches her that she should never give up, to keep trying even when her resolve falters. There is always something you can do, even when it’s just stalling for time until help can arrive. Urbosa guides her in mastering the Thunderhelm, and possibly begins teaching her to summon lightning herself after Kohga attempts to steal it, and at the end of their time together Urbosa tells Riju she’s certain she’ll lead the Gerudo well. Riju treasured her time being mentored by Urbosa so much that she considers what Urbosa would do during the Upheaval in her diary in TotK.
I think the entire reason Tulin was added to the DLC was because the TotK team had already decided that Tulin was going to be the Sage of Wind, and that since the other sages were going to meet their Champions Tulin had to as well.
At some point in the years between Botw and TotK Teba, Tulin, Sidon, Yunobo, Riju and Patricia were summoned back in time by Terrako to aid the Champions during the Calamity, and even though those events took place in a parallel timeline and had no bearing on the world they returned to, the Sages’ personalities at the beginning of TotK are because of their experiences during the Calamity and the bonds they made with the Champions.
#totk#totk spoilers#botw#riju#yunobo#sidon#tulin#aoc zelda#age of calamity#bonus thought i cbb to make into it’s own post for all the tag reading girlies:#since the light dragon is canonically present during the calamity because zelda was sent back thousands of years..#technically the light dragon is present for both botw!calamity and the aoc!calamity#and there is now a timeline in which totk!ganondorf will emerge in a completely different way because of timeline shenanigans#and there are two zeldas except one of them is a dragon#my belief is that in the aoc!verse since you can play as calamity ganon a part of it survived and like. it’s main goal is to find a way#to excavate the cave it’s creator is in and like maybe it lures link and zelda down there or maybe nobody even notices until it’s too late#idk. because there weren’t two zeldas in the past the aoc!zelda can’t travel back in time so like. either her character development means#her secret stone manifests her light powers instead of her time powers or she never gets the secret stone idk#what’s important is that aoc’s version of totk in my head takes place a few years after the calamity and by the end of it the light dragon#turns back into zelda and suddenly there are two zelda’s who are practically twins and this alternate time-twisted botw!zelda gets to see#the champions and her father again at the cost of losing her link and her friends in the future and having no idea whether her original tim#line is safe or not. and link gets to doublewield the master swords or smth.#if we’re keeping the aoc-style gameplay rauru is one of the jokey-warriors like the great fairies were and it’s just his arm and like. mayb#a bit of his shoulder or something because it’s 100 years ago and there’s a bit more of him left

Alright, I wonder how long an ask can be. U asked for it!😝
Also, if u were curious, since I’ve only played Botw and most but not all of totk, 98% of the time my yandere self-aware ideas will be of Wild/Tears.
How does Wild/Tears feel about the fairies? Like, is he embarrassed that reader has to watch that? Does he worry what they think? Or is he just like “eh, I can’t control their upgrade animations, sorry”. Then how does he feel when reader thinks it’s kinda cute/funny? I don’t want to traumatize the poor guy, but I must admit watching the level four animation is slightly funny bc I feel so bad for him. And in level three when he covers his face is cute.
What about when he just has to sit there for 10 hrs his time? Listen, I wanna upgrade the darn champion’s tunic but the stupid upgrades require 2 of each farmable dragon Zelda item. And I couldn’t find her for so long it was annoying. Ik she follows a certain path but even so u have to just keep following the path hoping u eventually run into her. So I just decided to farm an item, then sit there for 10 minutes r time until she’s farmable again. So how does Tears feel? Am I wasting his time? Is he bored? If he had an animation for it would he fall asleep? Would he glare at me for making him sit there for 10 hours? Plus, ima be honest. For those 10 minutes of me just waiting, I’ll usually scroll on my phone. I’m not gonna stare at the tv for 10 minutes, sorry lol. So is he mad that I’m not paying attention to him and stuff?
What about if I laugh at him? Alright, I don’t do it That much lol, just if I make an embarrassing mistake w him and he looks a little funny. Would he be embarrassed? Mad? ….?? I think he’s cuuute! It’s fiiine, right…?😭
Thinking about my one ask where I used him for science, totally not using bombs on him for any other reason! Anyway, so I have to admit, his overheating animation I like. I’m all for angst/whump w characters. Whenever I read AO3, 98% of the stories r angst/whump for Wild/Tears. Sicfic? Yes please! Nightmares? Yes please! Psychological torture? Sign me up! There was this one fic someone wrote about Wild being hit by a curse that trapped him in his memory next time he unlocked one, so he had to watch it over and over and over. The rest of the chain had to save him. Tho, if it makes u feel any better, I only like happy endings, no open ended ones, no sad ones, or character deaths. Nope. Fairy tale where they all lived happily ever after please and thank u lol. So anyway, I got sidetracked lol. My question was, would he be mad if I just put the game on the clothes menu when he’s overheating so he doesn’t lose any hearts over it, just watching him do it for a minute or two?
Sometimes I need to wear like one clothing item per outfit so I can use like 3 different abilities. For example, maybe bandana to climb faster, gloom shirt for an extra heartbreak, and snow pants bc it’s freezing? And sometimes I’ll complain that he looks ugly, well, not him, but the outfit, and say that I wish I could make him look cuter but I need these abilities atm. Does he hate the outfits like I do? Does he care more about function? Does he hate that I care so much?
How does he feel not being able to talk? Like literally every other character can talk except him. And he can’t do anything by himself. Everything he does is either a programmed animation or an action by my controller. I bet he has a lot he wants to say but can’t. Does he ever worry that if he were to get out and see me, what if he couldn’t talk to me??
🐰
yeah it's always a lot easier to think about the links you know better for stuff like this ngl, so I don't blame you for sticking to them. plus wild and tears are just fun too right? :3c
so starting from the top -
I think the fairies are a touchy subject for him, if you like the cutscenes then he can set his discomfort about being picked up and kissed somewhat - don't get me wrong he doesn't enjoy it but for your happiness he'll do it as many times as you make him (although, unless he finds a way to override the controls then it's not really like he has a choice in it) he'll make notes about how you like him acting in certain ways though - I mean if you like seeing him as a blushy mess covering his face in the game then you'll like it more when he's doing it in person right? Please don't make him recreate the level four one though.
To be honest, there's nothing that you could do to him that he could ever consider a waste of time. would he prefer you to be actively engaged? sure. Is he bothered if you're still there but just waiting for a bit for the dragon to recharge? Not really, yeah he'd prefer to be doing more, but at the same time it gives him a chance to observe and to get more of a grasp of how the game works while it's on and running compared to when he's robbed of his body and is left a being floating in a desolate void of numbers and machine code. He can relax and still have feeling and eyes on you and your eyes on him every now and then even though it's not as often as he'd like. as for the time? I think once he became aware he stopped running on hyrules time, so it's only ten minutes for him too. Ten minutes that granted feel longer than that cause of the scenery, but still only ten minutes. if it were a situation where he was still in a hyrule then he'd be further detached from anyone else. (my thoughts are if the game is left in standby on the switch then it's all still loaded and the links have free reign but if it's closed and you're playing another switch game then it tosses them into the abyss)
laughing at him for being cute is all good but please don't make fun of him ;-; he's only doing what you make him do after all!
I need to write more whump and hurt/comfort for tears actually, thanks for the reminder Well, he's not getting hurt by it -soooo he's kinda a bit deluded into thinking that it's another show of love for him. You simply love all the sounds that he's making <3 (and I don't blame you, his whimpers are actually just so adorable?????) You care so much that you're not letting him get hurt for your happiness!!!!
I think he takes it as a compliment that you care so much about how his outfits look, he wants to look his best for you too!!! If he could he'd find a way to stack the different bonuses so that you could treat him like a proper dress up doll without having to worry about the environment and how it impacts him :c he doesn't care what outfit he 'wears' cause it's not like he's actually wearing and interacting with it. it's glued to him like a second skin so whether you're keeping him shirtless or putting him in the thickest shirt possible there's no difference to him just don't mod him so that he's no longer himself please
The fact that there's a chance he wouldn't be able to communicate with you is something that he worries about alot, not even just not having a voice. He'd be fine with being mute if he can write or sign to you, hell he could probably delude himself into being fine that he couldn't do that if he could move freely and hold you. what scares him the most is the idea that he'd be like a puppet cut, that if he gets out that without the code acting as his strings he falls limp like a puppet cut loose. that's what's horrifying to him. anything else he could learn to live with, but that potential keeps him from making any rash movements where the cost could outweigh the benefits. I like to think that out of desperation, (this goes for sky in the fic too) they stole another characters voicebank from another game :) one that speaks your native tongue preferably, but at the very least one that shares a language you speak
#good thing I like talking about tears :DDD#one of my faveourite links tbh#love him soooooo#moss✦answers#yandere linked universe x reader#yandere linked universe#link x reader#yandere link#linked universe#lu tears#self aware au#self aware loz#🐰 anon

heart flow
This was written for @zelinkcommunity's Loftwing Letters 2025, and is for @hyylia! Words: 1640 Fandom: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild / Tears of the Kingdom Characters: Link/Zelda
It’s a high moon tonight. The rising paths and nestled buildings of Hateno are drowned in its rays. Three days until the full moon, and the harvest festival to celebrate it.
It’s a welcome light. Link straddles the top of an unsteady ladder, glad to be able to see clearly so late into the evening. He’s been helping string lantern lights across the main thoroughfare of Hateno, but he’s done his bit, securing his end to the mossy roof of Cece’s shop. The string slackens and tightens as his counterparts at the general store struggle with their end. “We’ve nearly got it, Master Link”, one of them calls out. He’s content to wait.
Behind him, inside Cece’s shop, the women of the town have gathered. He can hear feet thumping lightly on the wooden floor, the beating of a drum, and a muffled shouting: and step, and step, one, two! For the festival, the men hang the lights, and the women do the dance. There are giggles, more shouts, more giggles. He wonders if he can pick Zelda’s laugh among them.
“I’m really not much of a dancer,” she had said, multiple times, but they wouldn’t have it. He pictures her in there now, golden hair tied into a plait, cheeks flushed, spinning and smiling.
Link frowns. The moon above is harsh, exacting: why not just tell her? He’s been wondering that for a year, since she returned into his life, into all their lives, and set about filling the land with her radiance.
Practice is over. The women stream out of the building towards their homes, Zelda among them. She is flanked by two others, chatting amicably as they approach.
He could do it now. He could descend the ladder and tell her plain and clear. Did you know that you are perfect? That I love every single thing about you?
Zelda passes by the ladder and waves up at him. Link... waves back. And sighs. To the north, where the horizon meets sea, the dragon Naydra floats through the sky.
---
“Finally autumn, after such a long summer!” Zelda says, looking up at the full moon.
“Indeed, and a dry winter to follow, from our observations,” says Symin beside her.
“Oh. Hopefully we get some rain.”
They stand together under the shade of an old tree, watching the townsfolk collect long timber beams from the construction site of the planned Hateno School, which is as yet unfinished. “These beams will be returned tomorrow, right?” Symin asks.
“Of course. They just need them for the festival tent.”
“I hope so. I won’t teach from a tent.”
Zelda smiles to herself. The only person in Hyrule more passionate about building the school than her is Symin. Well, except maybe–
“Master Link!” Symin calls out, rushing forward. He greets Link, who has slugged an entire beam over his shoulder with ease. “Please remind the others to be careful. This timber is pine, from Tabantha.”
“Sure,” Link answers, but still Symin cranes his neck towards the centre of town, sighing and fussing as he watches his priceless timber being carted away.
“Why don’t you remind them yourself?” Zelda offers.
“Indeed! I'd better!” Symin says, and kicking up a little dust he marches into town, leaving Link and Zelda to speak alone.
Only, Zelda never knows what to say to Link. What can she say, to the one who saved her life, saved all their lives? Her gratitude always feels cloying and sticky in her mouth.
“It’s going well?” she asks.
“Yes.” He lowers the beam to the ground. “Do you need anything?”
“No, I – are you looking forward to tonight?”
He pauses, seeming unsure. Maybe he dreads it as much as she does. “I am.”
“I’ll be dancing, you know."
“I know.”
“It’s so ridiculous.”
Link smiles, a look that makes her want to melt. “I don’t think so.”
For a moment they stare at one another, and everything Zelda has wanted to say nearly rushes out. That he should have his own life, that he doesn’t have to live where she lives. That he can have his house back and that it’s okay if he doesn’t feel anything for her, really. She is grateful just to be able to love him, because it means she is alive, and being alive was once a distant and fading dream–
“I better go.” Link says. “I’ll see you tonight?”
“Yes.”
No other words come. After he is gone, she spots the goddess Naydra rounding the mountains to the north. Lady of wisdom, lady of love, she prays. Oh, save me from myself!
---
A harsh wind descends upon the town as the festival starts, rattling the lantern lights. Link helps hang the last of them between the dye shop and a water tower further up the hill. When he’s done, he heads to the festival tent. It shudders under every gust, but the townsfolk are determined. Their ragtag band of drummers and pipers are loud enough to drown out the wind.
He keeps a low profile, sampling the food stalls one by one. It’s oppressively hot in the tent, the whole town crammed inside, but Zelda is nowhere to be seen. Maybe it’s for the better. Maybe the time to tell her what he feels has passed.
Then there are three sharp beats of a drum, and the festival goers turn their attention to the centre of the tent. The women of the town gather, with Zelda at the front in a red dress and black leggings. They join hands, forming two long lines, and to the beat of the drum they dance, spinning and clapping. Link blushes as he watches, realising in his gloom he had forgotten the reason he came to the festival at all. When they are done, the women bow to whoops and cheers from the crowd, and in the chaos that follows as they disperse, Zelda appears in front of him with a hand outstretched.
“There’s another dance. Join me?” she says. There’s a sort of giddiness to her, almost drunken. Is that what dancing feels like? He takes her hand, and wordlessly they step into the dancer’s circle. Maybe this is how he tells her. Maybe he simply sweeps her off her feet.
Just as the world around them begins to fall away, a terrible crack rips through the air. It’s deafening. The ground shakes. Then another; thunder, beastlike and hungry, accompanied by flashes of lightning. Never letting go of his hand, Zelda hurries them outside, and they see the sky has darkened, clouds churning like the sea. There is shouting all around – everyone inside, quickly! It’s a storm!
Another flash, as an arc of lightning strikes the general store. Then another hits the grass in front of them, the light blinding. Crack! When Link opens his eyes he is met with a wall of fire. The lightning has set the grass of the main thoroughfare alight, and the wind is blowing the flames towards the festival tent.
“There's no rain,” Link says, drawing back.
“A dry winter…” Zelda murmurs. “We have to do something!”
In the sky, just below the clouds, Link spots the dragon Naydra, seemingly undisturbed by the weather. “Can she help? Can you, I don’t know, call her–?”
“No. How would I even– I mean I could try but –”
He takes her other hand, holding both between his. “Okay, it’s okay,” he says, waiting for her to calm. “We save ourselves.”
Zelda nods, and they turn their attention back to the fire. Across the thoroughfare, Zelda seems to spot something. He follows her gaze, eyes drawn to the lantern lights, which are now mostly gone out. “The water tower?” he asks. Zelda answers by taking his hand and leading him away from the tent.
They rush to a nearby stable shed, where Zelda finds two axes, placing one in Link's hands. Then she points to the water tower. It sits on three poorly made struts and is already shaking in the wind, water spilling over the edge of its wide metal tank. Link understands immediately, and can't help but laugh. Alright, Princess, let’s go destroy some public property.
They run to the tower and begin chopping - one strut each. “We need them to come down at the same time!” Link says.
“Then follow my lead!”
She chants as they chop. And swing. And swing. One, two! Lightning flashes around them, and the fire rages towards the festival tent. One, two! One, two! Then there is a creak and a groan - the sound of snapping wood. Link drops his axe and dives toward Zelda as the whole structure collapses, unleashing a flood of water down the hill.
They roll and tumble, caught in the wave, and come to a rest beside the festival tent, arms around each other on the muddy grass. Bewildered, the townsfolk stumble towards this spectacle; where there was once a fire, a wall of water has consumed it down to the embers. Seeing this, Link and Zelda hold each other close, and laugh and laugh.
There is nothing else to be said. Zelda rests her head back on the grass, smiling up at Link. Now, he thinks, and catches that perfect smile with a kiss - a lingering, apologetic, long awaited kind, and though it tastes a little of earth and grass, it’s intoxicating. As more townsfolk gather, Link and Zelda pick themselves up and hurry out of sight -- to continue with this new means of communication they have discovered.
Inside the festival tent, the music starts again. Above, Naydra makes her rounds – where she flies the dark clouds split, and the full moon shines through bright and clear.

Replying to these again bcuz yes :)
@lilyhatesthenumber4 @i-love-zelda-16 @thebackofmymind4 @nevermatchandscpsradadventures @blupeeblep

I don’t care about how old you are; if you’re going through this kind of stuff, it doesn’t matter. You need help. I am a Christian, so in a way, religion does matter to me, but it won’t stop me from trying to show you the love of Christ through our screens. I don’t know what to say to the rest of the post, except that stress and anxiety can definitely mess with your memory (personal experience, not trying to gaslight/anything), and you’ve been dealing with a lot. Definitely not discounting trauma-induced amnesia/whatever, just acknowledging what I do know. I will continue to pray for you through this and do my best to support you. God bless you - Nevermatch
<Gently grabs you and wraps my arms around you in a hug and rocks us back and forth> (if you like physical touch) I'm so sorry that that's happened. Healing is a long journey I've heard. I don't know the entire situation, but if you think you've been abused, that's probably what's happened. I know depression is a hard thing. My mom has it and still struggles with it daily. But that doesn't mean you should give up. Every day there's a chance of something amazing that you might miss. Look for the silver lining. It's hard, and even harder with depression, and I don't have it (I don't think), so I don't know entirely what to say. (And I have to go now, so... Rest of response a little later) You're not dumb and blind. You've been hurt, and a blindfold forced upon your lids. When you're used to something, it's hard to get rid of. It takes a while to adjust. Being honest to oneself is a very good step. It's hard. I, myself, still many times lie to myself. It's part of human nature. And trying to be open to oneself is a hard, but fruitful, journey. Idk for sure what the voice is, but it could be (forgive me real quick because I'm religious) the devil, Satan, trying to win you over and drag you down. He does that when he knows that you're a grand spirit who has a grand purpose. Don't let him win. Happily punch that guy in the face! (It'll be hard, but I believe in you, and have your back at best I can! You've got this!) It sucks that you have no backup in your family. I extend being able to be part of my hoard (dragon name for family that I use in my found family ^w^) if you'd like. Also, would totally kid nap you, fr. I don't know how to get away with it, or if we're close enough, but I would. I don't know your family situation, but if there was an adult that you know irl that you're close with, you might be able to tell them and get help there? Idk. (I may not be a professional (yet), but I am a friend, and friends help each other and make sure their mate knows they've got the others back. 🫂) Also, age and religion doesn't really matter to me. Age is a number, and religion is a view point of the world. You can be any age or any religion, and I wouldn't give two shakes. You can talk about either, you can keep it secret, I don't mind. I'll support you and be with you either way, no matter what. And crying is good and important. It's a release mechanism our body has for stress and such. It's part of the healing process. It's not weak. It's strength.
(Lmao Blep is the kidnapping part a good or a bad thing XD. Literally like paused and was like....whut? Should i be happy about it or freaked out XDD/joking)
Thx for support again, y'all. I am definitely planning to go to a therapist or psychologist or someone classified to help me. I think that keeping it under a rock will just make everything way worse than it is.
I don't think ill share it with my family, and idk if I should. Ill probably just go to the psychologist during school hours so that no one figures it out (and even if they do, my mom knows that im not alright, she just doesn't know that this is the matter)
I literally feel like what Nevermatch said, kinda like i was putting Mentos in a bottle of Coke and keeping it closed and then just snapped. I never usually rant like this but recently I just felt like letting it out anyhow cuz it started to physically hurt.
Until I figure out with the psychologist, i decided that I should probably do my part, which would be more self care. I think I neglected myself with everything that was happening and I think that i should do my part and take care of myself before seeking deeper help. I definitely did abandon my needs and both physical and mental health just bcuz of others, so I should, at least for this upcoming spring break, cheer up myself and take care. I mean like, if im not kind to myself, then I don't think that anyone can help me.
Now when I think about it, i was being a hypocrite recently. Always telling everyone else to be kind to themselves and rant whenever needed and seek out help while I was here bottling up everything and keeping it to myself and neglecting my wishes and health. I was literally doing the opposite of what i was telling to everyone else.
Thank you all for support, this would've probably been burning inside me for longer until it just.... ... Finishes me off....
Also, Lily, for those antidepressants. I actually didn't know what that was until I googled it, and i don't think I am. The thing is that im not professionally diagnosed with any mental illness for now so that's why I wasn't even taking those. If now being nice to myself and some self care counts as an antidepressant, then I am planning to and definitely should.
Im glad that none of y'all care how old i am or whats my religion, bcuz here's the thing. If I was in LU, i would fall in the same category as Four and Wind. We don't know how old Four is but he's the second youngest (according to that one post imma try to find) and Wind is nearly 14. So yeah actually if imma rank myself like that, i would fall in the same age group with them i think. Yeah, im that young 😶 (Four can't be older than 16 now can he???)
Again, thank you all sm. Your support means the world. I think that i would've committed smth horrible if I didn't snap like this *nervous chuckle* Anyways-
Since I said that i want to care about myself again in hope to retrieve what I lost, ill place the rants aside and focus on positive things about the world. If smth really bad happens that i have to then I might drop down a short rant but ill aim not to. I wanna retrieve what I lost and I think that self care should be my first steps.
Thank you all so much ❣️💖🫶
Now that ill take care of myself, ill do things that i like, which means rambling :D
#tysm for the support#tysm <3#rambling counts as self care so be prepared for me to scream over randomness lmao#y'all are lucky if it comes out as comprehensive lmao XDD#but thank you#❣️❣️❣️#God knows what could've happened if I didn't snap like this#i really needed to get it out#since y'all shouldn't bother too much about this since yall aren't classified or professionals or anything#ill try to seek detailed help from a professional#i think that's the best i can do#ofc self care will now be my top priority

back again with another fic idea but i dont really have a name for this one lmao. anyways thank you totk for normalizing magical stones turning people into dragons 🙏
alright. the links lands in a time between heroes, a little bit past four’s time, so the minish and hyrule have their legends of him. and of course, theyre fighting monsters, as heroes do.
and the four sword is hit by Something, something powerful, something evil. no one is able to catch a glimpse of it but they could feel it. four flings his sword up instinctively to block, and the four sword
b r e a k s.
there is a bright light, and a voice—no, voices screaming. because the four sword had-has-will have only one link that wields it, and magical blades are always possessive, binding themselves to the soul of that who uses them. so the sword breaks, and it breaks its hero with it.
except the four sword is more than just metal and magic and minish power. it contains the power of the elemental stones within it. (because the stones themselves are just vessels, and vessels can change.) so when the sword breaks, and the hero breaks, the elements break away in turn. and they bind to the closest thing they can find that resonates with them.
(what, after all, are the colors shaded by?)
all of this happens in seconds, in moments, covered by the bright light and the screams. when the light dies, four dragons in familiar four colors split off in a panicked haze. they leave behind nothing but a broken blade and a leather bag.
basically the chain goes on a minish cap adventure but they dont have a cap and also the stones are just the colors turned into dragons instead.
also reversing the finding order so its green, blue, red, vio now. green is just looping around in the stratosphere or whatever. blue is hanging out near the zora since, yknow, lots of water. red is in eldin for similar reasons. no one can fucking find vio actually because how the fuck do you locate earth??
along the way they slowly discover that hey? the colors kinda represent the goddesses sorta? except what is vio then?
(wild is the first one to make the goddesses connection. hes like huh theyre kinda like the dragons from my time. yeah theyre like protectors of the goddess springs, its a whole thing—wait a minute.)
DUNGEONNNNNNN CRAWLLLLLLL,,,, the colors hide out in dungeonssssssss,,,,, its literally like a whole ass zelda game,,,,,
btw for the general shape of the map, the volcano is in the NW corner, the water in the NE corner, theres a rain forest in the SE, and i guess a desert in the SW??? N is grassland leading to the lost woods, W is moutain range with ice stuff going on, S is also grassland but it leads to swamp, E is lake hylia with some woods surrounding it (as you can tell i am trying desperately to frankenstein a map together from three different ones. sigh.)
if we’re going the “imitating a zelda game” route idk what kind it should be tho. we could do the oot/albw/eow/etc route, collect three items in three dungeons, have a break from dungeons with some situation that is a big move in the plot and frequently involve collecting the master sword, collect more items in more dungeons and fight boss for real (lots of adventuring and dungeons). or we could do the st/mc route, which is five dungeons, but you have a quest to get to each, so its more like quest-dungeon-quest-dungeon-etc. i think this also depends on the size of the game actually. all the bigger games have the first type of storyline and the smaller ones have the second
okay further research reveals that the oracle games, and links awakening, all have a collect 7 (or 8) items and do the thing to fight the boss. so it has the dungeon number of the larger games, and the quest to the dungeon pipeline of the smaller games
EDIT: okay after much consideration. we’re going with option two. mostly bc i dont want to make that many dungeons up 🙃
anyways they also have dungeon monsters and bosses. just like a real dungeon :)
EDIT 2: concept that each dungeon has parts stolen from mc/fs/fsa dungeons
okay dungeon ideas time. mc has two minish dungeons and two regular sized dungeons. the deepwood shrine (earth) and temple of droplets (water) are minish ones. the cave of flames is an old hylian mine in mount crenel and the fortress of winds is. well. a fort.
but green is in the clouds so that just leaves the fire dungeon to draw from in mc.
speaking of clouds, fsa very conveniently has a level named “realm of the heavens”. it is in fact just a whole level in the clouds. also theres the palace/tower/whatever the fuck of winds. so yk. (angst opportunity?? the chain climbing the tower only to come upon the room with the shattered mirror?? thoughts chat?)
as for blue. uhm. well. all i know is i want an ice based dungeon where its got a big ole water pool that probably is fed by the ocean or smth and thats where blue is hanging out. kind of like eow with the weird twister beastie.
as for vio. he is underground and that is as much as im certain of. did have a big ole brain wave that the way to get to him is through the building that will one day become the palace of the four sword, before it is sent to the sacred realm (to become the dark realm). other than that. you gotta go deep into a forest to get there??
and for bosses for each, red gets the helmasaur king (from leg’s time; helmasaur king ii was the boss at the end of the red sword’s portion of the palace).
im not gonna lie i kinda fuck with helmaroc king for green, not only because big bird for the wind element (and from wind’s game lmao), but also the irony of huge bird flying above clouds. sorry sky youve been culturally appropriated.
as for blue, he gets gyorg from majoras mask. time is sweating. gyorg annoying as fuck and you get to try to scramble to dry land once the dude recovers so you get anxiety as well. blue would fucking hate the bitch. 10/10 perfect option
i struggled to find something for vio, especially after accidentally making a “one boss from each timeline” thing happen. but i think i found one i like. skyward sword’s koloktos, simply because many handed boss always sick. and also because of the climbing out of hell scene in the mfs dungeon. the pits vs beautiful upper level concept is honestly kinda fire for doing his dungeon with. also its closer to the beginning of the timeline instead of down the splits
for the dungeons maybe you need to get some symbol of the respective goddess to enter the dungeons, which is where each color ran off to hide within by pure instinct. like the medalions that have shown up in some games or something. which also helps with them making the goddess connection, since theyre hiding where their respective goddess protects them (four, literally helped give the goddesses a house in mc: 🧍)
had a huge brainwave that the colors all fuck up the elements around them in a big ole radius. green accidentally makes tornadoes and hurricane winds around him and since the tower is pretty close to the castle it affects people there too. red irritates the volcano in mount crenel (because it had lava inside of it but on the outside crenel is mostly dust and dirt and stuff) and it starts spewing lava and stuff. blue whips the ocean in a big circle around him into a giant storm and thats why the chain cant just swim to him and have to go through the dungeon. vio accidentally causes earthquakes and sinkholes and he also makes plantlife grow absolutely crazily. yknow, to really up the ante on this whole quest. and now we even have a very good reason why they go to get green first (he is affecting castle town directly).
something something vio and shadow something something light and darkness something something hylia is light but she is a burning light and that kind of light always casts the darkest shadows something something vio uses shadow magic because he casts light
how do they learn about the colors? well, four left behind his bag and in that bag is a journal that has both random ass thoughts and communications between the colors.
the minish are in fact present in this one and they are trying to help the heroes but literally none of them can translate. except four but. awol. so theres some goofy ass shenanigans happening in that direction
(twi in wolf form, listening to the minish chittering and chattering: 🤔)
(legend crouched down next to him, trying to translate as the resident “language expert”: 🤔)
speaking of the minish, the colors all still have the ability to shrink. in theory. theyve got the feather earrings and everything, which would look cool as fuck on dragons i should say. but anyway.
they cannot shrink on their own because their elemental magic is overpowering their minish magic. they usually have at least some elemental powers as the colors but now that is increased tenfold. the chain gets magic bottles that are sourced from the minish who enchanted them with power that can temporarily overcome the overwhelming elemental aura to get to the color’s minish magic. thus making them small :)
and when the colors are trapped in one while minish-sized they can no longer become big again.
yes you can picture lizard-sized dragons being incredibly grumpy in glass bottles.
when they capture a dragon, they head to the minish? maybe. idk someone to make a four sword using a fragment of the original sword and the elemental stone in the dragon. so basically instead of repairing the four sword and splitting, since theyre already split and the sword’s already in pieces, they repair each split and then combine them together. idk how they get the elemental stone out of the colors, but each time they repair a four sword piece they reverse the transformation and get the color back.
so they adventure around with the colors, is what im saying. which is good news for them communicating with the minish lmaoo. no more charades for them
(red, blue and green in a football huddle trying to figure out where the fuck vio is hiding: (hushed but increasingly incensed arguing)
the chain watching them argue at every turn and wondering how the fuck four seems so stable all the time: )

Courage of the Fallen Cheat Sheet
Masterlist
Warnings: blood, gore, body horror
All of these diseases normally result in insanity and high aggression levels, but because the Hero’s Spirit is unbreakable, they keep their full control and consciousness. They are all contagious and have inclinations to devour themselves, each other, and pretty much anything that moves, even if their sustaining source isn’t flesh. They have become adept at resisting these inclinations, though. They can also put themselves back together whenever something happens using their own venom. All of them communicate via growls/clicks/pulses that they each instinctively understand. The Zeldas are all immune to these diseases.
Wind: Cloud Disease. His body is pretty much a Hylian-shaped cloud, soft and white excepting the blue eyes, which are like hovering blue orbs. He floats around instead of walking and bounces around the walls to change direction. His facial features are shown by dark spots in the clouds, like clouds ready to rain. However, the rain he expels is highly contagious. Even when it hits the rest of the Chain; it makes them sneeze. So, he’s actually the only member of the Chain whose disease affects the others. Nonverbal, communicates through facial expressions and pulses. Energy comes from water.
Sky: Divide and Conquer Disease. The right half of his body is bright red, with rose-colored highlights and heart shapes carved into his skin where normally scars would be. This side’s facial expressions are bright and cheerful. The left half of his body is pitch black and visibly terrifying. He is the bloodiest of the Chain. Blood is pouring out of his left eye, the palm of his left hand, and the area on his chest where his heart would be. Would be indeed, because there lies an empty cavity. He has a feathered wing on his right shoulder blade and a Keese wing on his left shoulder blade. This disease is carried through contact with the blood. Verbal. Energy comes from flesh.
Warrior: Dragon Plague. His skin is entirely covered in sharp, blue scales. His hair is kind of shiny. His jaw has extended beyond what should be possible, and his teeth are so large and sharp he can’t even close his mouth. His arms have a dozen extra eyes on them each, all of which are fully functional. This has expanded his field of vision. Powerful regeneration abilities. Non-verbal. Spreads from a cut from a scale. Energy comes from flesh.
Legend: Golden Plague. His skin and hair are practically gold. Sometimes gold droplets drip from his fingertips onto the floor. People he’s around will glow gold as well, but they only become infected when he touches them directly. He struggles to hold any sort of weapon now, so he instead opts for infecting any enemies he meets as a means to kill them instead. His eyes are bright red, both the irises and the whites. He’ll occasionally drop a clump of gold that resembles a hibiscus; these particular clumps of gold are not contagious. Verbal. Energy comes from absorbing others into him.
Hyrule: Hive Virus. Its hair was silvery and messy, its sword arm swollen purple and its eye bags dark and purple as well, all six of them. Yes, it had four extra eyes, two smaller, diamond-shaped eyes above the normal eyes. Its veins were completely raised, each pulse of blood visible. Honey dribbled out of the corner of its mouth; it was accompanied by black mandibles. Its neck and limbs had extra joints that added uncanny flexibility and reach. A third set of limbs was protruding from its torso, although this set was insect-like and black. It had translucent bee wings as well, occasionally fluttering with a buzz sound. Non-verbal. Transfers by stab from one of the insect legs. Energy comes from flesh.
Four: Rainbow Virus. He has a bright, constant smile with rainbow teeth, eyes, and nails. His eyes are so deeply sunk in that he can hardly see; he is mostly reliant on his powerful sense of smell. He is so thin it looks like he shouldn’t be able to move but can. Multicolored boils all over his skin that contain acid. His body has extended to an astounding ten feet tall. Verbal, but extremely limited and hesitant. Transfers from a bite. Energy comes from flesh.
Twilight: Shadow Plague. His Twi tattoos have now extended across his body. His canines have extended into a curled shape with a pointed end, which has caused the corners of his mouth to stretch unnaturally in accommodation. His eyes are solid black, with only a small orange shimmer displaying where his vision is focused. Black, pointed crystals stud his body, especially on his joints, and they tend to rotate to face North no matter what position he’s in. These crystals contain the spores that spread the disease, so he’s careful to keep them intact whenever he’s within ten miles of a settlement containing non-infected people. Verbal. Energy comes from souls.
Time: Stalfos Virus. Pretty much the same as the Hero’s Shade, only his torso has a layer of skin that’s just enough to contain all his organs and keep from spilling them everywhere. He’s wearing the armor in the comics, not the Hero’s Shade armor. Verbal. Transfers via saliva, so bites or shared drinking water. Energy comes from souls.
Wild: Timber Disease. Any cuts he gets are covered by a growth of mushrooms. He has dark eye bags. He has wooden planks growing on his body and sticks protruding from him. Moss has completely replaced his hair, although it has retained its color. His neck and limbs are extended uncannily, and he’s dropped a lot of weight. There’s also a moldy gap in his neck, reminiscent of a bite mark. Verbal, but tends to rely on expressions instead of speech. Transfers specifically from being stabbed by one of the wooden protrusions. Energy comes from water.
I shall post the first chapter soon. If you have any ideas, let me know!!!!

About Me
Hello there! I'm Drakmanka, an Asexual, Genderfluid/Non-Binary, plural Dragonkin. I use They/Them pronouns and often refer to myself as "This Dragon".
Current age: 31 years.
Though I am host of a plural system, this blog will predominantly or possibly exclusively be run by me, Drakmanka. My headmates prefer more private settings in which to front and share their thoughts.
DNI if anti-endo, we have nothing to say to each other.
I intend this blog to be PG so it is safe for minors.
Additional info about me and my interests below the cut
My alterhuman identities (that I am confident about) are as follows, in order of importance to me: Dragon, dinosaur, raven, Tigger, demigod (of some sort, still figuring that one out), and elf. I am also questioning a ghoul 'type. I identify as both Therian and Otherkin.
I am also cat-hearted, rat-hearted, horse-hearted, and ent-hearted.
My plural system is primarily comprised of fictive walk-ins, but a few of my OCs have also shown up (this actually makes writing about them really hard with someone actively critiquing my portrayal of them).
While wearing my Human Costume(TM) I drive a school bus and make cat noises at my coworkers (some of whom do it back!). In my free time I enjoy chatting online with fellow alterhumans, working on one of my original stories, drawing (mostly dragons), reading, playing video games, and building LEGO sets and MOCs.
I have two cats: Layden my heart-cat; a grey tuxedo rescue who's been with me for over 10 years, and Jasmine the family cat; a flame-point Siamese who was rehomed to us last year when her original owner had to move to a retirement home.
I also have pet rats: I recently lost my dear fuzz-butt Frodo to cancer, but his cage-mate Samwise is still doing well even at the advanced age of 2.5 years. I've been keeping rats for nearly 17 years now.
And lastly on the pets front, I keep a tropical freshwater aquarium. It's a 29-gallon community tank. Ask about fish names if you're curious!
Some of my favorite titles and franchises of various media (in no particular order) are: Bionicle, Lord of the Rings (especially the books!), Minecraft, Dishonored, Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, D&D5e, Girl Genius, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Stargate SG1, Star Trek, Star Wars, Dragonriders of Pern, Super Mario Bros, Spyro (the Dragon/Legend of), Calvin and Hobbes, TES Skyrim, The Age of Fire, and Wings of Fire.
Some of my non-media-related interests are: Zoology, Paleontology, Meteorology, electronics, horticulture, auto mechanics, Astronomy, forestry, and Geology.
I also enjoy training my pets, practicing music (I play piano as well as ocarina, and am trying to get good at guitar), language study (I am low-level conversational in Spanish, am attempting to learn Thai, and want to learn German, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian someday), and I'm trying to raise a bonsai tree from seed but keep losing my seedlings.
I collect rocks, rubber duckies, and suffer from an affliction known as bibliophilia which has rendered my bookshelves utterly stuffed. I have a plushie collection that takes up a little over half my bed. I'm also addicted to music.
I enjoy most forms of music except jazz, rap, and blues. My favorite music genres are Alternative, Rock, Metal, World, and Ambient Music.
I live with my Found Family whom I affectionately refer to as my sister, my gramma, and Sensei/grampa.
I am adopted, which definitely makes the way I define family looser than some.
My adoptive mom, I refer to as just my mom, and same with my adoptive dad. I have an adoptive older sister who amusingly is almost the same age as my chosen sister. I have two biological half-sisters, whom I generally refer to as my bio-sisters. I refer to my biological mother as my birth mom, and my biological father as my father. I have never met either of them but I have met my bio-sisters.
I also have step-family: my dad divorced my mom many years ago now (amicably) and she remarried when I was 18. My step-dad is a pretty nice guy, and I also have a step-brother and step-sister (my step-sister is also, amusingly, almost the exact same age as my adoptive sister and chosen sister).
My family situation is a bit of a tangled mess to explain but it all makes perfect sense to me!
When I refer to "my family" I am almost always referring to my Found Family. I don't expect I will make such references often though.
If this data-dump wasn't enough for you, feel free to message me with questions!

I am very interested in your totk/botw ocs and also playing dolls with them :3
I love my dolls! I can give a quicker rundown in a sec here
So basically Dallas is the Link stand in for botw and was a guard at the castle. Due to shenanigans he was imprisoned and because of the cell he was in he survived the castle calamity but also because of the malice magic he survived till 110 years later and then leaves to find his wife unaware of how much time has passed except by this time his wife has passed on and his son is old now and about to die
So he finds some old friends n shit and discovers the grave of Link, the sheikah technology failed him and he did die of his injuries sustained before the start of botw. Dallas travels Hyrule and comes across the divine beasts and despite his best efforts can't solve their problems and goes to fight calamity Ganon alone
Now because he didn't fix the beasts he had to fight all the blights and the spirits of the champions remained trapped forever
He eventually overcame it after much trial and then retired to an old house in Hyrule field with one of the sheikah researchers named Willow, and later the two had Haelan
Now Willow is a neglectful mom and when Haelan got older she left both Dallas and Haelan behind. Willow was never really a person to be a mother and it's a wonder why she even married Dallas and had a kid with him to begin with. Totk kicks off, Willow leaves to inspect the Depths and all the new shit, leaving Dallas and Haelan behind. Haelan gets upset and begins to follow in her mother's footsteps with the intention to give her a piece of her mind when she finds her, and their story follows the consequences of what happens when you neglect your children and the differences between mother and daughter
While all that is going down Dallas is now alone and finds Purah because he has nowhere else to be and because of those age shenanigans he is pretty much doomed and so Purah tells him to go settle his unfinished business and directs him towards Sidon who Dallas left in the middle of the night because he couldn't help this little prince solve his grief
So Haelan follows the way down into the castle, thinking that's where her mother would be. Instead, she finds the gaping hole into the depths, and is the Link stand in here. Because more shenanigans, she is the one teleported to the great sky island, and basically follows that story
So what we have: Willow in the Depths, Dallas on the Surface, and Haelan in the sky. Eventually they all come together to end the game with the power of familial love all three of them together wielding the sword to defeat the demon dragon and I love them for it
Post totk Haelan finds a good girl and gets married to her and they have Leaf together. When Leaf grows up Hyrule is thrown into a civil war secretly spurred on by the Yiga, and over the course of their journey, they connect with those from all over who hate the civil war: Ezio, Tulin's apprentice, Amber, Yunobo's biggest fan, Vaari, daughter of Chief Riju, and Sola, a childhood friend of the late Princess Mipha
Their story is still in the works but does eventually conclude with the Yiga being (nearly) destroyed, but it focuses on the darker sides of the totk heroes as they have to fight for their people and even fight one another
Then like hundreds of years later Hyrule kingdom has been completely destroyed after another calamity and the protagonist stand in is Zelda under the name of Petra who romances one of Dallas' descendants named Juno who I haven't really talked about idk but I love them 💙💜💙💜
Anyways yeah I have been sitting on this for actual years and you can see that I just keep "Yes, and"ing myself lmaooo

Artisan’s and Archer’s designs
So a little bit ago, I got a compliment on the two designs of Echoes of Courage I'm proudest of. I do love all these characters, but these two took a bit more creativity on my part, so I'm going to explain them because I am a sucker for design. I will try to remember as many of my own details as I can, but no promises.
Let's explain Archer first.
Behold, the most recent Link! Breath of the Wild took a departure from the classic green, so I kept with that and made his tunic the main splotch of color on him. The browns and monotone colors are subdued in comparison so that the blue can have the spotlight.
In regards to the tunic itself, botw and totk both have significant influence from traditional Japanese culture, as seen with the sheikah taking on a more japanese fashion sense and the dragons being eastern instead of european shaped, so I kept that with the design of his shirt. His tunic was originally the shape it was in botw, but after the calamity, it sustained such damage that Impa was only able to save some parts of the tunic. Using those parts, she repaired it as best she could, but Archer took a liking to Kakariko fashion anyway, so he's perfectly happy with it. In addition, with the looser fashion of the ancient clothes, I changed his belt to a more ribbony shape.
Thinking about how his shirt might have worked during botw. Perhaps he wore it as a haori, or maybe it was damaged, of a shorter cut, etc. and his Zelda made him the current one. Nothing is concrete about that yet, and I think it would be neat if it was different than it is post-totk.
The turtleneck and the leather armor from the new tunic in totk is incredibly charming to me, so I naturally had to keep it, but in order to show it off practically over the tunic I'd decided on, his sleeve got pulled down. I also designed him before totk came out but after the first trailer came out, and from the trailers, we could all tell that something was going to happen to his arm. I had no idea what purpose it would serve or how Link would end up by the end of the game, so I kept his arm covered up but outside his shirt. Turned out to be a good call.
As for his hair, I loved seeing his hair down so often in totk. It feels all free and wild and soft, so I kept it, except it felt a bit impractical to have it hanging all around him like that, so I did a half-bun. He gets to keep his hair down while tying it out of his face. This also lends itself further to eastern style inspiration.
A note on the smaller details: he does wear his amber earrings, and he's got scars across his body.
Now, we have Artisan.
It was a bit more difficult to figure out Artisan at first. I took inspiration from as many links meet aus as I could find, but everything for him is so varied, and while it's fun, it does make it difficult to nail down what does work. Unlike with Archer, I had no real direction in the beginning, so I searched for what made him unique as a Link. I also went back to the original ideas of character design, the most prominent being outlines and silhouettes. I'm still a bit iffy on his silhouette, but overall, he works.
First, the albw aspects: His bracelet from Ravio went inactive after the rifts between Lorule and Hyrule closed, but he still wears it. It's becoming comforting to him. As for the clasp on his cloak, it is absolutely the two triforces, and he got it custom-made in Hytopia. His pegasus boots are also from albw, and since Collector and Forge both had their unique pegasus boots, I had to come up with something just as striking for Artisan..... and then, I looked upon none other than the Zelda cartoon of olde, and I decided that Artisan would absolutely wear over-knee boots. So that's what he got.
Now, his triforce heroes parts. I know the green one is player one and all that jazz, but I wanted to see if I could do something not-green, just like Archer or even Piper. The sword suit in the costume catalogue stood out, and not just because the red link is wearing it in the official art. It's more tame than most other choices, and it's casually royal, which is a strange flavor of style, but I discovered after significant experimentation that when you pair it (or the idea of it) with poofy bardic sleeves (yellow, courtesy of albw's blue tunic) and gloves, it takes on an almost roguish look while maintaining the fancier feel. Also, when I lined him up next to Collector and Scout, I found that their colors together were red, blue, then green, and I couldn't not keep him blue after realizing that.
Notes: his cloak is still a bit weird to me, but I've gotten too used to it. Hytopia pushes the boundaries of fashion anyhow, so he can do whatever he likes. His hair is dyed because that's just fun, and it's braided because everyone else in this AU has short hair or a ponytail, and I wanted him to feel more well-groomed than everyone else. He gets to take care of it, and he has gotten hair care advice from Princess Styla. I didn't originally intend for this effect, but the pale outlines of white and gold on his clothing really make his outline pop. The consecutive dark colors of his tunic, pants, and boots would not work without those lines. His eyes are, in fact, purple! Ravio, in turn, has green eyes. I did doubt the choice of yellow sleeves at first, since it's not exactly the secondary color of my choice, but I went with it, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it work so well. Perhaps it was the yellow of his hair and the golden accents, but I am very pleased with it. He only comes a century or so after Collector, so I had to pick a tunic shape that could hold similarities between the two of them, which is why the collar of their outer layer is the same for both of them.

zelda tangled au anyone?
genderfluid link. runaway princess zelda.
imagine ganon knows only link can defeat him so he kidnaps him as a six year old and takes him to an abandoned tower in hyrule forest with the intention of corrupting him and the master sword to get them on his side. zelda has been told all her life that the power of hylia is in her, but she hasn't unlocked it yet, and the pressure is getting too much so she sets off to find the "legendary future swordswoman" who went missing years ago because "if i can't unlock my powers, maybe she can help me."
one day, she finds the master sword (which ganondorf has been hiding near the tower because he's saving it for when he finally figures out a way to corrupt it, harness its power, and take over hyrule). she's like "oh my god what if the swordswoman is around here somewhere😱."
MEANWHILE link is in the tower with their gorgeous long hair (and maybe wolf link as a sidekick instead of pascal?), and every year on his birthday, the leaders of all the villages get together and hold a little mourning/prayer ceremony for her bc signs of the calamity are approaching fast, and they're hoping link shows up soon, especially with zelda's power not being awakened yet. link desperately wants to go see the ceremony (they don't know what it's for, just that there are a lot of beautiful lights and the dragons of hyrule all come together as well), but obviously ganondorf won't let him.
THEN zelda finds the tower and scales it. link is all "HYAH!!!!!!" and the scene where eugene is trapped in the chair with rapunzel's hair plays out between the two of them except it's just a lot of link being like 😡😡and zelda being like 🤭omg this guy's reallly good with a weapon...looks a lot like the descriptions of...WAIT OMG ITS THE LEGENDARY SWORDSWOMAN🤭 link is like "i mean 1/3 woman i guess."
eventually, zelda convinces link to leave the tower with a bargain like "if i take you to the swordswoman ceremony, will you tell me about ganondorf?" (she already suspects it's THE ganondorf ykyk), and link is hesitant because zelda is telling them that the person they've been raised by is evil, but he really wants to see the ceremony, so he goes. they cut their hair to its length in totk and it really validates her gender yk? and when zelda sees how happy link is in her newfound freedom and gender expression she's like "well i have to tell him the truth about who he is"
she doesn't want to because it'll shatter link's worldview and newfound peace, and she doesn't want to put a burden on their shoulders (bc hylia knows she knows what that's like), but she does it anyway. at this point, link is beginning to get flashes of memories from his childhood and realize what zelda is trying to tell her is true, so both of them go to kakariko village to talk to impa (and they plan to talk to the champions after), but once they get there, ganondorf is there waiting in front of the desecrated former village like HEY POOKIE. FOUND YOU. MISS ME?
he takes link captive again and accelerates his plans to take over hyrule. link is trying to find a way out, and zelda is trying to find a way to help him, but it's not working out very well lmao. meanwhile zelda goes to the champions and asks for their help, relaying everything she knows, and the champions make a plan to get link and stop ganondorf. they get to the area where the tower is, but ganondorf was expecting this and takes them captive
as this happens, link doesn't know what's going on and is alone in the tower. he finds the master sword and the secret tower staircase, but it's a trap laid by ganondorf to manipulate link into joining him because link escapes the tower only to find zelda and the champions all tied up and stuff. the bargain is like "join me and i won't kill your friends when i rule, but refuse and i'll kill them slowly and make you watch" (i came up with this on the spot i know it's a rough plot WORK WITH ME😭🙏)
link being link challenges ganondorf to a duel, and ganondorf accepts purely out of amusement bc at this point he thinks "link can't defeat me yet since he's been locked in the tower; he's only a danger if he's been trained." link whoops his ass, but ganondorf harnesses the power of the calamity at the last second (which he was planning to do just to teach link a lesson in obedience and whatever). he whoops LINK'S ass, but just as link is about to get killed, zelda's powers Come To Life, and she saves him. then they all work together to defeat ganondorf and they all live happily ever after
#this is rough i know#but i NEED to write it#not sure if it’ll be romantic or qpr#but it’s happening#zelda#legend of zelda#link#zelda and link#botw#totk

I'm still trying to collect every single pot, statue, and bed in teh game.. I have gerudo pots, royal pots, and normal pots. Old bed, soft bed, and zelda's bed. I also have meat, fish, and carrot. I dont know what im supposed to do with the teddy bear....
Lol thestupid scrub that jumped into the rift to save his lover.... i thought it was super cute at least
EVERYTIME SOMEONE MENTIONS LINK I AM HEARTBROKEN- IM MORE USED TO PEOPLE TALKING BAOUT ZELDA AND ITS JSUT SO WONDERFUL HOW THE TWO ARE LITERALLY FATED FOR EACH OTHER! (yes im a zelink shipper but depending on the universe i also love milink, midlink, sidlink, revalink etc)
Bro Impa's brother (sorry i forgot name, i only talk to him to stalk link and upgrade my sword) is lore-dumping things about link to me and im slurping it up like soup. bro caught in the rift and freed himself and others? PEAK. except he cant save himself now he's trapped in the diamond lol. He doesn;t have the op echo skills
speaking of which, i love how they let her fight. in her own way. Id love it more if she could fight(i mean she can in swordsman mode) but having her unique style of fighting by throwing rocks, spawning snakes, or full on miniboses on enemies is peak imo
Bro i need more zelda content. As soon as i finish this game my daily dopamine is gonna crash like the stock market and im already on max dosage of my antidepressants--
ZELDA GAMES ARE MY ANTIDEPRESSANTS NOW!!!
Anywhoo= deku scrubs are so cute
Where's the great deku tree tho?? I think either in that lost forest area or the (wait north, east, south, west--) east area of the wetlands that i havent explored yet
Im surprised that the dekus are in a wetland/jungle area. I thought they'd be in a woodsy forest. I mean in majoras mask they are in a swamp i just thought they were kokiri and koroks or wtv and got so confused cuz why aint the great deku tree with the dekus???? i think im missing some lore--
have i mentioned how cute the scrubs are. Their language, their huge heads and tiny bodies, the "pi" sounds they make. mwah, chefs kiss. New fav species???? Idk, they're tied with zora in first place only because i have a mipha and sidon bias.
I miss the totk/botw era and the thing abt playing the different games is the whole new world part of it. I keep expecting to see people from previous games (for some reason Dampe is in both links awakening and eow so im having some suspicions....) Like even references to other games? (ik jabu jabu is) I mean i'll probably see some later on.
Are there dragons in this game??? Goddess?? Well i know the prime energy sources are connected to the goddess in the Din, Nayru, and Farore region... Lanaryu, Eldin, and Faron. (i love their names so freaking much) but are we actulaly gonna see them????
*more feral screeching. grabs closest deku scrub by the neck and yeets into microwave /affectionately*
The dripptune toads are cool. They don't attack, they make rain go rain, they're cute little guys :). And thank goodness you don't slip when you climb rocks-
HAVE I MENTIONED HOW IN AWE I AM THAT ZELDA IS A PRO ROCK CLIMBER AND VINE SWINGER???
Not me with my jump boost bracelet jumping over trees instead of taking the path....
Also not me making so many unfortunate smoothies...
i yapped abt the game to my friend during PE (im a minor okay...) and she told me that im overloading her with information... im too autistic for this world--
Wait i forgot stuff from yesterdays post - it was hilarious when the zora guy's house got destroyed.
I now have parrots, crows, and seagulls. WHERE ARE MY LEVEVL TWO ROPES??? /snakes WHERE ARE THEY?? I NEED StroNGER SNAKE ARMY
There was an impostor among us... turns out to be some random dude lmao (TMNT REFERENCE????)
yeah. I am obsessed and it's only been three days. I'm typign this while im in my zelda hoodie next to my great deku tree legos and my totk calendar and my link cosplay photos and my twilight princess link figurinne and my korok legos and my korok plush and my wind waker figurine by my handmade sword sheath that's holding the master sword with my handmade majoras mask hanging off it... i think i'm normal right-
Okay what else-- I think i'm going to continue it sometime later this week because I have a project coming up...
Once again thanks for tolerating me guys, all your reactions make my day <3
(not my drawing or gif. it is so cute i want to cosplay her now)

2, 17, 24, & 29 for the blorbo ask game! Any blorbo(s) of your choice :3
Gaaawd, that'll be tough to narrow down 😭But thanks~ I'll try to pick some juicy ones each. Let's see... 👀
2 ) who was your first ever Blorbo, who was your childhood Blorbo, and are they still your Blorbo?
And we're already off to A Start cuz my immediate problem is I don't actually remember whose first orz I ended up coping with a LOT in eating up every scrap of media I could get back then, and it was in brief flickered intervals, so my very first childhood blorbos ended up being a scattershot blur between characters like Dragon Ball Z's Goku, Sailor Moon's Usagi/Serena (and by extension basically all of the senshi as a collective unit with her), Pokemon's Ash Ketchum, Digimon's Ken, Dot Hack's Balmung and Tsukasa, and especially Legend of Zelda's Link.
Are they still my blorbos? Yeah! Kinda! But they admittedly also rotated in and out of prominence with different intervals, especially as I got older and had a way bigger focus on other things that ended up taking over my adulthood instead. They're not all gone, but out of that list, there's definitely been a huge shift on some more than others.
Ash and Ken took a bit of a backseat in favor of being much more involved in the worldbuilding of Pokemon and Digimon (among other mon series) as a whole, especially when I grew out of being in their age range from when I first grew up with them. Ken grew older now in-universe as Digimon Adventures walked back Adventure 1 and 2 more, and meanwhile Ash became less focused on especially after hanging his hat up for good in favor of Liko. Not that I want to say she necessarily killed my interest, cuz to be fair, I hadn't been able to keep up with the animeverse in forever even well before, and now Nintendo's all but made it even more hellish trying nowadays.
I do still adore Dot Hack in general from time to time, but it's a bit of an old game/anime, it isn't helped that Tsukasa and Balmung have VERY polarizing representation on only one or the other (both DO appear in both, but Tsukasa is in a weird kind-of-guest-unit-except-that's-not-really-him situation in the games, while (until that later anime in dot hack Dusk) Balmung was a very seldomly-mentioned and seldomly-seen character in the anime in comparison to you seeing him in the games), and since my involvement with the series is very casual and scattered, I don't get involved in the fandom deep enough to really bring either of them up much. That being said, both do end up living on in the form of dot hack and Phantasy Star often merging together as a big aesthetic theme inspo in a lot of stuff I tend to work on.

Including Balmung's more fucked up corrupted doppelganger Azure Balmung, who was a huge design inspo for both Ephrel and Tangie's connections to one another (and by extension, Mirage Grima).
Which leaves Usagi and Link as special cases, between Usagi (and the senshi and her connections as a whole) being basically the embodiment of my previous love for her expanding to old age Magical Girl Genre as a whole (like Ash and Ken evolving the same way to Mon Raising genre), meanwhile Link being in a weird grey area by virtue of how Link works across his multiple incarnations.
I will admit I liked him originally for his adult Ocarina of Time alt, especially said alt's prominence in things like Soul Calibur II, Smash Bros, Twilight Princess, etc, but the more he kind of shadows my life like Sonic and the like end up doing, the more I got a better appreciation of the different Links as a whole for different reasons, and not just the one or two specific Links on a superficial level like originally, and then better appreciating the zeldaverse even outside of just what starts and ends at Link.
17 ) do you like seeing your Blorbo suffer?
Short answer: Yes. Sort of. 🤭
This admittedly also applies to my OCs, and not to any one specific character in either blorb or OC camp, but I do like the catharsis factor of subjecting characters to rough times and hardships, knowing eventually in the end they'll get something for their trouble.
It might change them into something they can't go back to, it might cause them to suffer quite a chunk of losses and nightmares and trauma before getting to the point it all turns around, and once they DO get the reward they fought for, maybe there'll be adjustment periods they need to go through even then after what happened on either sides, but it's that journey of getting there that brings out the most about characters that I enjoy a lot.
It also serves as a good venting point after suffering so many of my own hardships personally, and don't exactly always come out the other end with anything gained for the trouble. So with this, at least I have that bit I can guarantee for them that I couldn't guarantee for myself. They come out so fundamentally different from where canon left them off, especially if I mess with them for AU projects or fics or the like. They become something unique, shaped by all their scrapes and bruises and dents along the way…
Probably also not a coincidence that a lot of my blorbos ended up with a LOT of baggage to unpack, and some are less able to hide that fact than others (comparing for instance Usagi against Lif).
24 ) if you could change one canonical thing about your Blorbo, what would it be?
I feel bad this section is gonna feel so rambly and vent-y cuz my gawd I got a lot of pent up frustrations, some of which might not always be fair, buuuuut…. 😭
The short answer is there's so, SO many blorbos who boil down to 'I love the aspects I can yank out of them in playing with them like dolls, but by Talos it's painfully obvious when their creators hate the shit out of them and I wish that aspect wasn't true about them SO MUCH'.
Camilla? Fierce as fuck and hits like a truck, caring but guarded to the point of 'She needs like 10 therapists' levels of violently unhinged, due to her trauma and upbringing, and while I actually DO like her fanservicey aspects, I wish that they could play up the aspect she's very clearly doing a lot of it as a ploy to either redirect attention away from others (but especially her siblings) to target her instead and/or to let her foes' guards down, and when she's NOT in hardass mercenary mode (like a lot of her endings and supports, or why her emblem variant is so calmer and gentler by comparison) she very clearly is making herself proverbially covered in knives and thorns as a defense mechanism and would much rather opt for simpler and calmer times and a happier life than the hellhole she and her family were put through growing up.
But because her creators quite literally designed her with hucao in mind, to the point I'm reminded time and again by people I've got so annoyed and upset by on the constant I've outright cut them off over this, reminding me how the devs absolutely saw her as little else but a cow girl, wanting to go as far as make the fabric of her clothes cow print before they were told off to tone that shit down, a lot of her more sharper-edged aspects gets far and well overshadowed by even the devs in favor of 'big sis mommy milkers' and my love for her often becomes tested by her being a really low-hanging fruit in terms of an immediate block-on-sight subject to put it nicely (I've blocked. SO MANY PEOPLE. Who were way, WAY too comfortable either slutshaming her, or slutshaming people with her kind of body and style, the same people who gratingly love to make it their life mission to remind you she's 'just tits and ass and nothing else' and then do shit-all insight on why people like her so much BESIDES that.)

Cronos? In the rare instance dev talk can be dug up about Bloody Roar in the first place (it's just that obscure, but there's a section of the fanbase whose been really, REALLY dedicated trying to fix that and archive a surprising bit about the series as a whole, in their defense…), the devs made it all but clear he was meant to be a joke. Like Streetfighter Dan levels of a joke.
Bloody Roar once ran a poll on which animal the fans would like to see as a potential new beast form for a new character later down the series, and among the winners, some form of bird won second place (the exact wording was birds in a sense of like hawks or eagles, which we also doubly got in Reiji the game after Cronos), a penguin specifically won fourth place, and beasts based on the four directional gods all collectively one third (which while DOES reflect back on Cronos in Suzaku, it was much more on-the-nose realized in the manga, The Fang, ala the four shijin). He was originally meant to be just a penguin and just a butt of jokes for said penguin form, before he was fleshed out more, the devs realized there was more to him, and that's what made him evolve into the lethal joke two-beast zoanthrope of having both a penguin and deadlier phoenix form to utilize in battle.
While the devs did seem to have a bit more respect to actually flesh Cronos out more by comparison, and to a point he even broke containment with Ganesha and Yugo in appearing in Fang's mangaverse otherwise, he only appeared for that one game in Primal Fury due to not just incompatability with how 4 utterly changed how beast mode works, but claims he 'wasn't dark enough' to fit the atmosphere. And seeing as the devs had tried to paint Primal Fury from a place of a spin-off, rather than a mainline game, his canonity is left dubious, and he and Ganesha hadn't returned since their debuting game (which… sadly is not unique to the series. Besides Fang, none of the mangaverse characters broke containment to the games, nor are they alluded to in Primal Fury proper, the only game Fang ALSO broke into. Furthermore there were a lot of characters in BR1 who also only appeared once and never again likewise.)
Which is a shame cuz there WERE a lot of darker aspects, which became especially frustrating given how much fandom (especially fandom at the time. I will say fandom nowadays is a whoooole different landscape compared to the fandom bullshit I grew up in so they're not one in the same anymore, and my beef is largely the fandom of my childhood than presently) especially loved to shit on Cronos for really tasteless and dated reasons back then (that evaporated nowadays) and a lot of people regularly write him off as a nothing-burger when he has a surprising amount of depth to him (when Hudson isn't fucking that up via botched translation issues on top…)
He was heavily implied to be a subject of his own father's experiments, and while not exactly confirmed outright or given explicitly (not covered in the manga, the ending barely even hints of it, and what little info there is of him is subjected to translation snarrls and broken down untranslated sites that both the fanbase and the wayback machine had to pick up the pieces of), there's potential correlation between how his father treats him (one thing that WAS explicitly confirmed is that he's lined up with several body censors and tracking devices on his person/clothes), the experimentation possibly having very prominent and adverse side effects on his body (and why the split in beast forms or why his phoenix form looks so visibly fucked up), and possible trauma given how he can't even consistently control his phoenix form (which is confirmed multiple times to go on very violent and fiery rampages if he loses control of it, and in fights you end a battle as a phoenix, he visibly struggles to de-transform out from it), and has a nervous breakdown in one of the endings (not that we get a lot of context to work with in any of the endings in general…).
I can go on and on about a lot of blorbs, but I think Camilla and Cronos in particular always stood out to me as wishing they had more love put into them than they got, albeit Camilla did get more vindication in her later FEH alts and Engage Emblem alt, while Cronos's issue is more of just the mess Bloody Roar in general was than necessarily problems unique to just him as a whole.
Then again, it also gave a lot of ample ammo to play with those aspects of both of them in AUs and stuff. Explore them beyond what just canon gave us and all.
29) has a fanfic about your Blorbo ever made you cry?
TONS. And granted between burnout and 'I forgor'-itis being a chronic thing for me, I have a lot of difficulties naming them all since many are either general sources (for instance? A huge part of what drew me to Chrom and Robin were the many, MANY angsty comic interpretations either tackling the ending, Risen-Chrom and/or Grima-Robin, or something along the lines, but there's too many of those across years worth of memory to know where they all are at this point), or they were ages ago and several computers back since I last saw them and I'm not even sure if they're still there or not or how to re-find them.
There IS one example that sticks out a lot in the back of my thoughts however. Two of them for Link.
youtube
First? The Rehydrated Ganondorf AUs. The AUs that, to sum it up, take place post-BotW but before we got TotK in its current state, that reimagined Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf actually getting along together in the former two restoring the latter to a fully-realized spirit state not unlike the champions, a much clearer divide between Ganondorf versus Malice (what would later turn him into Ganon), and the three actually getting along in the one rare instance the three reincarnate and do so after countless of lifetimes two of them are forced to gang up on the evil-and-beyond-saving third.
youtube
So cue a rather knife-twist end in a You Can't Fight Fate way where, despite everything and their wishes, they ARE still destined as the Triforce Three where Ganondorf WILL fall to corruption and turn evil, and Link and Zelda are forced into a position to slay him, even if this one time it's out of mercy over malice instead. Even if they wind up the same tired and true tale of a Link teaming up with a Zelda to slay a Ganon/dorf, just this once, there's a bittersweet aspect that they tried to fight fate, and damned if they didn't try.
The only thing to upset me more than just the ending to that AU is the eventual release of Tears of the Kingdom, which had SO MUCH OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE SOMETHING LIKE THIS, and then didn't do it in favor of "Ganondorf is an evil asshole whose evil and he's out murdering people and kicking puppies cuz he's evil. And in the end Link kills him cuz he's evil and of fucking course he does." with the added salt this time he's voiced like Ryoma while doing it now (another blorbo).
And continuing the trend with the second example? The entirety of Growing Up Gerudo, which explores much of the same general idea of a Ganondorf who was able to firmly separate himself from Malice (so didn't become Ganon), but from a place of Ocarina of Time / Majora's Mask instead, and this time in an AU that asks what would happen if Link, rather than grew up among the kokiri to be primed as Ganondorf's eternal enemy, was instead growing up among the gerudo as Ganondorf's (and Nabooru's) son instead. And while it does take a lot of liberties even beyond just that premise (Zelda's dad is an utter shitnugget, and more than canon-typical, for starters), it doesn't exactly hold back on a lot of almost-slips and terrifying what-could've-beens of Ganondorf nearly losing himself time and again to his predestined fate and Link nearly paying for it in kind.

have you played any of the paw patrol video games?
I've only played three of them; "PAW Patrol: On a Roll", "PAW Patrol: Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay", and "PAW Patrol: A Day in Adventure Bay". The first two on PC/Steam, and the last on Android.
I don't have much to say about On a Roll. It was interesting when I first started playing, but for me, it got boring after a while. I understand it's for a very young audience, but I wish they would've eased up on the tutorials. Restricting Everest and Tracker to the last few stages was kind of silly, imo. Well, if anything, seeing Marshall pull a Super Mario Sunshine across a lake was pretty entertaining. 😄
Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay was a lot better, imo. Switching from a 2D platformer to 3D was a smart idea, and as someone who enjoys collectathons, I had some fun with it. It's still pretty easy, but I understand it's designed that way. With that said, it was surprisingly short, especially compared to the first game, and there were certain tasks that dragged the game down a bit. Still, out of the two, I recommend it a lot more. Including a Pup Pup Boogie mini-game was also pretty cool.
PAW Patrol: A Day in Adventure Bay was cute, since it lets you take care of the pups, play some frisbee with them, etc. There's not a whole lot to it otherwise, but for the price, I can't complain. Admittedly, I played this one once a day for nearly a month, and of course, I always selected Marshall... and apparently the game didn't expect this, as it eventually glitched and kept giving me the same mission every time. Ah well, I easily got my money out of it.

I don't plan on playing any of the other games, except maybe PAW Patrol: Grand Prix. I've been curious about it for a while, if only so I can play as Marshall in his Ready Race Rescue gear & vehicle. I've heard it's also easy, and given I'm used to playing Mario Kart at 150cc, I don't know how much enjoyment I'll get out of it. Admittedly, that's why these PAW Patrol games don't exactly appeal to me, since I'm so used to games for an older crowd (Spyro the Dragon, The Legend of Zelda, Mega Man, Metroid, etc). Thus, I may not be the best person to ask for recommendations in terms of PAW Patrol games.

Tears of the Kingdom is a year old now, and I keep seeing posts about it, about how there are already fond memories, of how people want the special merch that's come out...
...meanwhile I'm still here thinking of how I'd do a fix-it fic to rectify that mess of a plot. I did it for Twilight Princess (which I am still turning into final drafts), but TP can't hold a candle to Tears of the Kingdom, which is a sequel that ignored most of the canon from the first game. I may have posted this somewhere already, but I ought to post it again in case I forget everything. I apologize if I posted this before.
First fix: Link and Zelda are a couple, a would-be-married-if-Hateno-had-common-law couple, a sexually active couple to the point where Zelda had to take steps to avoid having children too early.
Second fix: Rauru, Sonya and Ganondorf are from an alternative Hyrule where Hylia never came to help the humans, so their population was absolutely decimated by the demon tribe, and they were saved from extinction by the Zonai (hence the shrines where Rauru sealed demons). Zelda is not descended from Rauru and Sonya any more than the other Hylians, because thousands of years is a long ass time to trace bloodlines. There's a lot of multiverse BS mixed in with the time travel BS. The reason nobody knows who Link is, is because Link does not exist in this alternative Hyrule. That Link died 100 years ago, the Shrine of Resurrection was never discovered, and this Zelda eventually sealed Calamity Ganon by herself.
Third fix: ...except, some people do know Link, and remember his timeline. It's two parallel universes mashed together, so people like Sidon, the Deku Tree and Purah remember it, but others do not. Something happened to the Zelda of this universe, which is why people are looking for her. Meanwhile, the alternative universe characters do not know some familiar characters like Kass.
Fourth fix: Link's hand talks, and Rauru is an annoying companion. Imagine having a king in your hand, giving unwanted advice all the time. At least Fi was polite about it. Rauru does not realize who Link is at first, and then is baffled by the changes to the world.
Fifth fix: the Master Sword itself tells Link to plunk it in that temporal whatsahoosit in the Temple of Time, thinking it would fix it, and bang boom it zips back into time. Meanwhile, the Sheikah slate always stays with Link, and gets corrupted and broken by Ganondorf's gross purple haze.
Sixth fix: There are no Dragon Tears littered around the world that have been there for thousands of years. There are two: the one you first encounter with Impa, which gives a vague point of view of Ganondorf and his Gerudo army attacking Hyrule (the memories are first-person), and then the second one where Link sees a bunch of images from the past and Zelda's dragonification, all from her point of view. He knows it's her because he hears her speaking and sees her hands. They are shed at two moments in the game where Link gets close enough to the Light Dragon to see that it's not like Dinraal, Naydra or Farosh.
Seventh fix: The three dragons of the golden goddesses are not from the alternative Hyrule, and think everything is messed up. They insist that the Zonai ruins Link keeps finding are nothing like the Zonai they know. They're the same race, but the technology is completely different, like something advanced the Zonai rapidly in the one timeline.
Eighth fix: The Sheikah tech is there mixed in with Zonai ruins. It confuses the fuck out of both universes. For some reason, the Sheikah stuff does not work anymore, which confounds the hell out of Purah and Robbie.
Ninth fix: Some of the Sheikah are from either universe, but all of the Yiga are from Link's universe.
Tenth fix: The ancient sage spirits are not still around, and they do not explain what happened in the past (Rauru does). We just get new sages in the form of the New Champions, and the Spirit Stones (not Secret Stones, fuck that name) choose them. The new sages use their new powers to help Link get through the mass of Malice (not Gloom!) that blocks him from getting to Ganondorf.
Eleventh fix: Link and Zelda aren't fixed by the Recall spell, because that's kind of out of left field and Sonya's spirit is long gone anyway (and I do not like using game mechanics as plot points). They're fixed by Link's innate time magic, the time magic he always had as his Champion's Power, and they are returned to their proper timeline (as well as the alt Zelda) as well. This is all done with some help from the Spirit Stone of Time, but also due to the Triforce of Courage, which awakens. And that brings us to the final point...
Final fix: the Triforce is in this story. You can't tell me that the crest of the Hyrulean Kingdom survived all this time along with the Hyrule dynasty, yet nobody understands it's symbolism. You can't tell me that Zelda's "sacred power" wasn't just the Triforce of Wisdom. Sorry, I don't buy it.
#I can fix Tears of the Kingdom!#I can fix it!#because somebody should fix it dammit#Zelda rant#sorry guys this series gives me brain worms#the legend of zelda#tears of the kingdom#fanfic

I know this is a magical girl blog, but since you've mentioned indie games, I wanna know which ones are your faves? I assume the list isn't a big one, considering how you dislike horror games...
Pizza Tower (has Horror elements, but it's overrall bonkers and with a bitchin' soundtrack! An update with The Noise as a playable character is in the works!);
AntonBall (and its upcoming sequel, AntonBlast, which it's more close to the Wario Land 4 experience than Pizza Tower);
Sugary Spire (HEAVILY inspired by Pizza Tower, even more so than AntonBlast. Has recently gotten a demo entitled Exhibition Night, and it looks amazing!);
Annalynn (cute 2D Pac-Man style platformer with elements of Hotel Mario and Donkey Kong Jr.! With Dynamite Anton as a guest character you can unlock, too!);
Captain Wayne: Vacation Desperation (it's not out yet, but it's basically DOOM combined with One Piece);
Freedom Planet (I like how it started off as a SonicTH hack, only for it to grow into its own thing. Things get intense in the sequel!);
Spookware (WarioWare but spooky! And with graphics similar to Paper Mario, too!)
Thunder Ray (it's Punch-Out!! but waaay more intense! Like Shonen manga kind of intense!);
Fight Knight (DOOM combined with Punch-Out!! Also has an intense Shonen manga vibe);
Cosmic Boll (A colorful Beat 'Em Up with Sonic-y designs. Most likely discontinued/cancelled);
Kyle & Lucy: Wonderland (Yet another game with Sonic-y aesthetics and gameplay, combined with Felix the Cat. Looks like it has been discontinued/cancelled, sadly);
Friday Night Funkin' (the fact that this game has managed to help Newgrounds stay relevant after the death of Flash is quite an amazing feat!);
Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore (What if CD-i Zelda were its own original thing? And what if it were actually good?);
Pulling No Punches/Punhos de Repúdio (this one's brazilian! A Beat 'Em Up where you fight against antivaxxers with Bolsonaro as the Final Boss!);
Spark the Electric Jester (Sonic, Kirby and Ristar all combined into one);
Hazelnut Hex (a short but sweet Cute 'Em Up);
Smile For Me (a First Person game with Psychonauts-esque aesthetics set in the 90's where you go around helping troubled people, calling the attention of its mysterious and whimsical doctor as you go);
In Stars and Time (a monochromatic RPG about being stuck in a timeloop);
Cavern of Dreams (N64-styled Collectathon where you play as a cute baby dragon);
Super Lesbian Animal RPG (used to be a MLP fangame, but had to be altered due to copyright issues);
Them's Fighting Herds (same as SLARPG, but as a 1vs1 Fighting Game à la SkullGirls);
My Friendly Neighborhood (okay, this one's actually Horror, but it has heart and passion put into it);
RitMania (upcoming Rhythm Heaven style anthology rhythm game made by brazilian artists!);
Cuphead (the amount of dedication and research put into the old-timey visuals is admirable. Even the Netflix series is stylish!);
Hades (the Greek Mythos kid in me V I B R A T E S);
Meatball the Mite (a gross-out MetroidVania style game developed by the lead animator of AntonBlast. Even though it combines two of my least favorite things, I'm willing to make an exception this time around);
Berserk Boy (Mega-Man lookalike with soundtrack composed by Tee Lopes!);
Penny's Big Breakaway (by the Sonic Mania devs! And Tee Lopes works on the tunes, too!);
Undertale (well, duh. Deltarune didn't captivated me as much, though...);
Hollow Knight (not a big fan of MetroidVanias, but this one's got beautiful visuals);
The Plucky Squire (an adorable indie that has been in the making for 20+ years, with an ex-Pokémon designer as its co-director. Strong Zelda/Paper Mario/LittleBigPlanet vibes on this one);
PsiloSybil (Crash Bandicoot-esque game protagonized by a cute curvaceous mushroom gal);
Melatonin (think Rhythm Heaven, but dreamier, pastel-colored, with lo-fi, and more grounded in reality).
And that's all I have so far right now. Might update this list if I remember something else!

i decided to make a list of 15 of my favorite plot devices
i think they're mostly in order but all things are subject to change. time to explain my passions
1. asexuals - self-explanatory. the best number one joy of all time is when there is an asexual person, canonically, and not just in my mind palace. so far no show has managed to do this except fucking shadowhunters (and bojack horseman ig but it's not my thing). i know there are people out there who can write way better than the shadowhunters writing room but i don't know why they aren't getting on this. tick tock. example: raphael shadowhunters
2. amnesia - notably different from dementia, which is depressing and bad (thinking about you, dean winchester). amnesia is only good because eventually they get it back. the best thing about amnesia is that it shows you who your Little Guy (gender neutral) is with everything stripped away from them including their sense of self. do they still go for the same kind of coffee? do they still click with the same people they used to love? can they still fight? what do they stand for? it's very rewarding when your little guy acts the same way without knowing why. it's also especially cool for action heroes bc they'll still be able to win a fight and it's like wow <3 fight scenes with emotional stakes!! also i love that it gives us a mystery to solve. sometimes a partially amnesiac character is amnesiac because they did a terrible crime. and they've got to solve it while accidentally working against their past self. fun! examples: fang from ff13. wolverine. why, who did you think i was going to use
3. brainwashing - for the same reasons as amnesia. it's the same concept: take away everything and who is your little guy? the real little guy is in there and they are working so hard to get out. also they will be sooo sad about all the crimes they did later. example: fenris dragon age. d'avin killjoys. and okay fine one other guy we're not talking about
4. enemies to lovers - what's better than two people wanting to murder each other until they don't......always a good side of bickering with this as well. main draw tho is the process of simply two people getting to know one another in the way that you can tell strangers things you can't tell your friends. it's more work to love someone when you hate them and with more work comes a better reward. also, sexual tension. example: so many. fenris/hawke. fenris/anders. botw link/zelda. john/aeryn. bonnie and damon if the cw weren't cowards and i don't even like damon i think he's unforgivably horrible (derogatory)
5. monster under the bed character - i don't know if this has a real name. it's like the One Guy (again, gender neutral) who has shaped the protagonist's whole life who is threat number one in any given situation. Primal Fear of this guy and all they represent is similar to how little kids are scared of the monster under the bed hence the name. it's not JUST an arch enemy or an antagonist it's like. the only enemy that matters. not a bad guy but THE bad guy. if you can boil someone's issues down and stuff them all into a single person and then also make that person scary. and then also they can fight!! fuck yeah fight scenes!!! if you're really lucky this will overlap with either somebody's parent or somebody's ex. examples: AUGH SO MANY. for dean winchester it's yellow eyes. for sam winchester it's lucifer. for fenris it's danarius. for jace wayland it's valentine. for dutch killjoys it's khlyen. for anakin skywalker it's palpatine. for derek hale it's kate argent. going nuts just thinking about it
6. reluctant assassins - crucially if they don't care about being assassins it doesn't work for me (sorry kassandra asscreed). i went into this in more detail here but your assassin simply Must be compromised in some way so they can regret all their little crimes later. otherwise what's the point?? this overlaps so thoroughly with brainwashed iedk if it should count as its own entry but whatever. examples: fenris dragon age. dutch killjoys. d'avin killjoys. elliot leverage. and the other one
7. two-person love triangle - this is a very specific sub-example of secret identities in general which ARE good except they're usually in superhero media and i am really just so totally fucking over the entire CONCEPT of superheroes. anyway it's when one person has a secret identity and the other person forms a relationship with their "real" identity and their "secret" one. and then they feel conflicted about loving two people at once and having to choose but SURPRISE it's the same person! i like this because it has anti love triangle energy. lots of romantic tension and none of the dumb fucking YA bullshit. (apologies to YA.) example: arthur and merlin (who is also "emrys" at least in fanfic)
8. 4th wall shit - when the piece of media is in your house with you. i don't feel i need to clarify further than this because dr gaster is probably spying on me as we speak. examples: everything toby fox has ever made. s*pernatural, sometimes. i also had a deeply haunted experience with final fantasy x.
9. last guy (gender neutral) standing - part of a team or group that got tragically mcmurder prior to the start of the story and this person is so terribly sad about it. crucially this has to be a side character whose relationships with dead people are more important than or equally important to their relationships with the current living cast members. character deaths you almost agree with because then at least they can be with their fallen buds. examples: auron from ffx, noel from ffxiii
10. immortal characters - for the same reasons as above but also they CAN'T DIE EVER so they don't even have that to look forward to. also sometimes they wind up being science experiments. examples: jesse turner from @cambionverse (sorry jesse)
11. evil doppelganger - usually this is in video games where they just take the sprite or the polygons and recolor them to be black but also you have some mirrorverse/au shit going on sometimes and then there's evil twins, and shapeshifters, and clones...i love when everybody gets tricked into thinking somebody is doing crimes but actually theyre just out here and it's their evil double causing problems on purpose and not even being the one to go to jail forever because of it. also, when the evil double has mind-reading powers or whatever b/s to 1. make them a better trickster 2. to make them better at precision-point roasting of whomstever they look like. also acceptable: when you little guy just suddenly turns fucking evil and/or gets possessed and you have to cure them to get them back. idk maybe that should go under brainwashing. examples: dutch and aneela. link and dark link. zelda and the puppet. soulless sam. demon dean. hullen johnny.
12. fire powers - WHO doesn't love a little arson...i feel like this is the same concept behind werewolves which boils down to "fear of anger" bc with anger comes the loss of control and the devastating fallout... your fire guy (gender neutral but idk any fire girls) has to have a lot of self control or they'll fuck everybody up. they're very dangerous! not unlike assassins. also, fire is pretty. bonus if they have done crimes before either on purpose or on accident. examples: jesse turner again, roy mustang aka the OG fireguy, prince zuko
13. big damn reunion - when two people are split up with little to no chance of ever seeing each other again and then they do anyway. this is why i'm never mad when they bring characters back from the dead. examples: i'm actually totally blanking on these, i feel like it tends to happen in fic so much more often. also i've been writing this list awhile
14. time travel - i love! time travel! i love when people see an apocalyptic future and go back and fix it (chrono trigger, ff13). i love when there's a stable loop (tears of the kingdom) or a paradox (song of storms in ocarina of time). i love visits to the ancient past (skyward sword). i love when there's just an actual fucking timeloop (s*pernatural). it's really good!!! examples: oops i just listed them all
15. body swap - last but not least i think it is so fun when two people wind up living each other's lives. it's more fun in tv when people get to switch which character theyre playing but it's good in any form because what a way to get to know someone and also the endless potential for shenanigans. examples: dreamless (webcomic), your name, various episodes of tv shows many of which are bad (s*pernatural's was extremely bad).
ok, that's the list. originally it was 10, then 13, then 15, so i think i'd better stop here.
#personal#liz loves writing#i guess#it's stupid to post this at midnight but if i stick it in my drafts for later i'll never see it again#i'm mostly talking to myself anyway lol
