#terranigma #terranigma ark #terranigma elle #terranigma meilin #art tag #im going to write a little review in the tags bear with me #first the negative:#the magic system is weird to use and basically useless apart from one boss thats almost impossible without magic #it has some weird racism like most old games where you travel around the world. a little more egregious since its supposed to be real earth #i found the main character to be slightly insufferable for about 3/4ths of the game. i came around on him by the end tho. he grows up a lot #and i found whats by far the largest section of the game (chapter 3) to be the least interesting #im not really into helping cities develop and trade quests tho so it might just be me #oh also it is STUPID easy to permanently lock yourself out of like 15 sidequests #and theres a lot of mandatory things that are really hard to figure out. you need to use a walkthrough for this #anyway thats what i didnt like #what i DID like tho. i dont want to get into too much detail but #its a genuinely beautiful game for so much of it #there were so many moments that left me speechless #its high-concept and thoughtful and fun to play #you dont really need to do much grinding either #at its worst its obtuse and cliche but at its best its breathtaking #and i really recommend more people check it out #special shoutout to my friend seona who modded my 3DS and downloaded a bunch of roms including this one #so in conclusion. terranigma is an underrated gem. play it if youre a 90s jrpg junkie like me #just have a walkthrough open also lol

I just have to add a lot of memos when I’m doing things because some things are done a certain #way and it isn’t explained well in the instructions. like my mom has instructions on her baking recipes right #but when it says stuff like add dry ingredients to wet ingredients it also means you don’t dump it in one go you add it slowly by portion #this is probably why I find videos and demonstrations the most helpful when I learn something. like I almost always ask someone to show me #how they do it because there could be something they do that’s already second nature and wouldn’t really be considered in an explanation yk #I don’t think I’m an exception either. when the rice is done cooking I divide it into 4 quarters to bless it #but there are a million ways to divide rice and it makes me think that one persons way of doing it or not doing it all is just as valid #theres also technically no wrong way to divide rice afaik. this means either all ways of dividing rice is safe or valid until we find some #universally terrible way of dividing rice. until that happens nobody really thinks about specifying HOW you divide the rice #source: I have anxiety starting and doing things for the first time because I got way too many people yell at me NONONO WHAT ARE YOU DOING #THATS WRONG while I’m in the middle of doing the thing. Merch and Manga haul from yesterday

#prince's talk tag #ok so the kaeya keychain and white rabbit!len were gifts from my friend i was with yesterday #the len was a from a blind box so they got lucky with that one #but the rest of it i bought yesterday #i saw wxs!miku and my friend was like 'You're getting her. you have to get her!' and so i did #niigo!miku wasnt available only wxs and vbs and this was the last one there #kino currently has these 10th anniversary pins in two styles and you can see both with the kanji and naoto pins #i like the style of kanji's more but they didnt have that style for naoto so I had to get the other one #next time i go ill see if they have the other style #the other three charms in the pic i got at a secondhand bookshop that also has anime merch #i dont do a3 but i do know some things bc of my mutual (LC if you see this hi hi! o/ )#but i thought the charm was cute and it was cheap so i bought it #the rin one was really nice im happy i found it #bc all these charms were mixed in the many rows of hooks they were hanging on. theres no order you just gotta dig for what you want #and lisa was one of my faves when i played bang dream so i got her too #ok now the manga!! im continuing my gekkan shoujo collection bc i will own this whole series its my favorite series ever im so serious #i had hirano and kagiura and twilight out of focus on my wishlist but they came out too close to xmas and my bday to get for it #and then i forgot they came out already until i saw them and decided to get them #i didn't know spy fam got a novel and since thats another series i wanna own everything of bc thats my second fav series ever #i bought it and im interested in seeing whats the story #bottom right im really enjoying that manga and theyre skinny so i can fit a bunch of them :D #bottom middle with the sticker on it my friend knew about it and recommended it and i wasnt gonna buy it #but kino were giving out stickers if you bought the first volume and i love bonus merch sooooo i got it #the two in the bottom left i got at the secondhand bookstore. theyre both yuri anthologies that ive read about in other yuri series #and i hadnt seen them at the other bookstores so i got them at the secondhand one #and bc i bought so much stuff i needed a bag and i saw that cute one of miku baking cookies with her friends faces on them so i got it #it was a fun day!! :D

#decided to watch a playthru of murder house bc it had been awhile since id given puppet combo yet another chance #but man #they rly just dont have many interesting ideas and mostly rely on shock #oh but phuz u say thats what slashers are like #not the good ones! not ones that actually have something somewhat creative and entertaining!#honestly the only good thing i can rly recommend from murder house is clement panchout's great music #been listening to the end credits track a lot #but phuz the main char is wonan thats a diversity win #i guess!!!!#but also as a main char emma gets killed over and over and o #lol im just bitching bc for once the setup was promising and i was hooked... then the rest of the game happened🦆#idk it got lazy it didnt pay off all the things it set up that could have been interesting and it makes me feel bad for even caring?#idk man theres only so far u can take the same gimmicks for so long. esp when it was stale the first time u tried it in night of the ripper #i feel like the ending was so wtf random that they thought it would make up for their unfocused storytelling. but alas it just sucked #are there other endings? did pc even care enough to go thru that kinda effort? i dunno but i kinda am done w puppet combos shit lol #phuz rambles

ive watched 3 seasons of 911 in a week. and yeah i also watched the last two s7 eps that came out. yes ive seen spoilers for like the whole show and im still having fun. and hey, the next ep doesnt come out till may so i have time to catch up! i was trying really hard to make a post about how i keep seeing jewish characters in shows that seem to never escape the stereotypes/patterns that ive noticed are basically always there, but man im really not the person to try and talk in depth about things, im not very good at it

that said, literally even what i would consider the better rep of jewish characters still seem to fall into the same stereotypes/patterns of every other jewish character and its like... why is that? even in shows that seem so aware of every other issue being faced by minorities, jews are the ones left behind?

and its not necessarily bad that they fall into these patterns, especially if theyre given more depth and allowed to be people outside of those things, but like... those things are still there. idk maybe im being weird about it

#i mean at least half of the rep i was thinking of are portrayed by/written by jewish people #and its not like theyre entirely unrealistic. theyre very much real things people can be #i fall into some of them myself !#but its just... idk its weird. ughhhh #my post #jewish #i mean i made a whole list with 10 things i noticed tend to apply to jewish characters and i added those numbers to the names of them #and i wrote down 14 characters! theres only 2 of them that didnt have any of the numbers applied to them. wild #and the traits arent necessarily bad! i dont think theyre bad at all! but its just weird that almost every jewish character falls into those #i really wish i was better at getting my thoughts out #i watch so many video essays and so many of them are so fucking good and then i try and write some shit and its like #'this thing good cause it good. this thing bad cause it bad. i am totally making a point right now' no youre not </3
