A self indulgent usuk dynamic that i really like is when alfred's biggest competitor is himself centuries ago when he was still arthur's colony, because he thinks arthur loves that version of him more than the current. Not that he doesnt understand because Alfred sometimes seeks the old Arthur, the one that comes home, plays house with him, lives their days in leisure, dotes him and only him; he was Arthur's number one priority. Alfred wants to have that relationship again so bad, wants that soft easy kind of love where he is held above everything else. But if he seeks that, Arthur wont really love him, just the image of a younger brother that Arthur attempted to carve out from Alfred, and so if he wants Arthur to love him, the current him, the real him, their relationship has to struggle, to be rocked in prolonged moments of dullness, to thrive.

HI MY BELOVED ANGEL!!! i am sending u mattsun + campfire as well as kisses n hugs <33
SAINTTT hello 🥺 thank you for sending a prompty!! 🥹 idt i've ever written mattsun fully before so this is something new!
help me get back into the writing groove! send me a character + any word and i'll write a short blurb about it!
contains: exes, stranded-y situation, feelings are complicated, some expletives
mattsun + campfire
"i told you we should've brought the spare—"
"yeah, let me go back in time for a sec and do just that."
"asshole."
lesson #1: nothing good ever happens when you're stuck in a car with your ex on the way to somewhere remote.
you blame iwaizumi for this one. who the fuck chooses to spend their birthday weekend in the fucking wilderness?
(okay, you don't actually think it's so bad. to be fair, he did plan this a year ago. and it did sound like a good idea. then. at the time. anywhere with the boys was always guaranteed fun―at least, until you and matsukawa broke up.)
"can you pass me the flashlight?" he points at the backpack behind you. when you hand it over, your fingers brush over his as he takes it away from you.
and you hate it, because―
lesson #2: you should never be alone with your ex when you still have feelings for them.
you'd agreed to take two cars to the camping spot: iwaizumi's with oikawa and hanamaki and matsukawa's with you. there was no way you'd fit in one, and hanamaki ultimately decided to ride with iwaizumi because, "you and mattsun have shit to sort out," he'd said.
with night setting and the two-hour headstart they managed to get ahead of you, the best thing you and matsukawa can do is to set up camp temporarily and wait for them to come back for you come sunrise.
you sigh.
leaves crack underneath your feet as you maneuver around your camping space. the light from matsukawa's flashlight tells you where he is, just a bit deeper in the forestry as he looks for wood to help set up the fire.
you unload the car in the meantime, bringing out some snacks and sleeping bags while waiting.
matsukawa eventually comes back with arms full of wood, and you help in whatever way you can, clearing the space and fetching more twigs when needed.
the entire car ride here had been quiet, so it's not surprising that this entire process has been equally as silent. until―
"did you already pull out your tent?" he asks, half of his body disappearing into the trunk of the car.
"huh?" you go closer, "i only brought out the sleeping bags."
then he sighs, ducking out from the trunk with a hand on his hip, "we only have one tent."
"what?"
"makki must have gotten yours with his when he decided to move cars."
his hand runs through his hair, a habit you know well. it lights up all sorts of weird feelings in your tummy
you don't know how to feel―
"i can sleep in the car."
―but you know that you definitely don't want him to do that. all things considered, you were friends first. and you've both been trying to be friends again since the breakup. you wouldn't want to cause him discomfort like that.
so, with a deep breath, you say, "it's okay, we can just share."
"are you sure?" he stares at you.
you nod.
after setting up the tent, you eat a few energy bars and clean up from the day's events. the campfire provides ample enough heat, but with how fast the flames are burning, you're doubtful it'll last the two of you the entire night.
it’s much later on, past midnight, that your doubts are proven right when you and matsukawa are cramped together in a tent made for one. it started to get cold a few minutes ago, and you've found yourself inching closer and closer to the warmth you’ve gotten used to laying against for the past two years.
he's only pretending to be asleep, you know that much, too. the rise and fall of his chest is hardly there; you can see it, how he's holding his breath being this close to you.
"issei," you whisper.
he opens his eyes, eyelids lifting lazily as he meets your stare. the vibration of his hum reverberates to you.
"it's cold."
for a moment, your stomach drops at the thought that he could ignore you; how it would make perfect sense for him to. you broke up with him after all, and he doesn't owe you anything, much less favors as intimate as this one.
but he closes the already dwindling gap between you, wrapping an arm around your waist as he pulls you closer. it's near, far too near for exes to be―noses touching and all.
"warmer?" his voice comes out hoarser through the whisper.
you nod, your head shifting up and down—which, truly, is where you ultimately fuck up. you feel it, a little chapped but still pliant against your lips.
in your carelessness, you accidentally brush your lips against his, the sensation alone surprising you enough to inch your head back as you mutter your apologies.
"sorry? really?" he asks, eyes half-lidded still as he chuckles.
his question settles into the small space you're in.
your vision trails from his eyes, down to the slope of his nose, until it lands on his lips again. a little split like you've always known, but still your favorite. still the only lips you want against yours.
when you lean in again, you know you're fucked, because―
lesson #3: the number one rule is that exes shouldn't kiss each other anymore.
#mattsun x reader#matsukawa x reader#hq x reader#shotorus.workbook#WAAAAAH i hope u like this saint !!!#ive never rlly written mattsun in length before so i hope i captured him enough ?????#i feel like he's such a tough balance to write (bc i am not witty at all and i feel like he would be HAHAHA)#anyway !!! some stuff abt the fic: the split was amicable for the most part#but the reason why makki says reader and mattsun have stuff to sort out is because there's like a weird tension~~ that he feels around them#and its kind of like. they bicker? and snap at each other like exes do but also it's just like. why do u care abt what the other does so mu#if you arent together anymore ?? typa thing. its like. they argue but in a way couples normally do if that makes sense#HONESTLY MAKKI WOULDNT HAVE ALSO MINDED STAYING WITH THEM cos he likes to watch HAHA but i think#he joined iwaoi more as a 'ill give u guys time together to fuck it out or wtvr just dont be weird on iwa's bday' typa thing#they were also together for a while! friends first and everything hmmm the reason why reader broke up with him#can be up to you! but my intention was for it to be something fixable and just more fitting for a 'break' typa thing#not necessarily a breakup#also the iwa car went ahead and they have the spare tire so they can go back and help but better in the daylight#i think thats all !!!#i hope you like it !!#ask#rep#saint.🩸#honestly these just keep getting longer hAHAH i should follow my 20 minute cap more#ask rep answered#heartsyougave

Radioapple is one of my most favorite ships because Alastor and Lucifer have such strong divorced parents energy.
They both act like they're bitter about the divorce that you can't tell who divorced who.

huntclaire divorce au. everything is exactly the same but wait i was going to make a joke here but i’m actually very invested in this
#just imagine how WEIRDER they’d be about each other. this is crazy#i need them to divorce and then hunt makes a movie immediately after and he casts claire as the lead. and the movie is weirdly personal#and everyone in the cast is like. is this movie about the divorce. no it is not. but yes it also is. hunt and claire are unaware#there's a brazilian director who divorced his wife and then cast her in his next movie andthe movie is the greatest love letter ever.to her#this is what i'm aiming for here. do you see my vision? okay so they argue all the time on set. she does NOT follow his direction#this is why i divorced you by the way you were always like. saying stuff. you're always saying stuff! you're annoying and pathetic and stup#they cannot even be NEAR each other. need to talk to either of them? do not do it while the other oneis in the room.they WILL make it weird#they will start bickering and they will forget about you i am so sorry. if they try to be civil it's like. this was so thoughtful of you!#i wish SOME PEOPLE were like this. i was actually very thoughtful you were the one who was always demanding attentionWHATof COURse I WAS!?#hunt keeps his wedding ring in his side pocket. claire loves calling him her stupid ex husband. ew my wretched ex husband.#whole time they can't keep their hands off each other. which could mean anything#why did they get divorced? no one has any idea. no one knows anything about these two actually. why would he cast her. why would they marry#why are they torturing everyone. is this like A Thing to them. yes. claire gives him cold coffee every time and he drinks it every time jus#so she doesn't get the satisfaction. also you should NOT interfere if they're arguing because then it's going to be YOUR FAULT#you may ask. hsslilly! what's the difference between this and canon huntclaire. well they're actually divorced here. see.#this means something to me. and to them too. plus they actually mean this on some level. normal huntclaire are doing a very convoluted bit#here claire would choke hunt with his tie if given the chance. and then they would make out. this happened like twice.#okay i'll stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#huntclaire#wait the blood necklace should still exist in this au

“Sometimes, at the most unfortunate times, I think about us. I picture us outside and I wouldn’t bring much attention to these thoughts if it were simply us standing in the open but it’s much more than that. I imagine you and me in another life; a life were we do laundry together and go grocery shopping. I see myself cooking breakfast for you and I see you setting the table. I imagine waking up next to you every morning and going to sleep beside you every night. Such small trivial things but in every thought we’re happy, — it’s silly isn’t it?”

I'm suffering Fates Brain Rot so I drew OCs? Logical!
Nytis (blondie) is a demon cleric who hates feeling any form of pain but lives to cause others pain (he does indeed see the irony of becoming a cleric). In order to help protect himself he forms a pact with Elnae (red gal) and she basically fights in his place if there is a threat of injury. She also does little errands like info-getting and sneaking around for him.
The thing is, while he can hurt others no problem and it's satisfying, he was granted the ability to heal others after he swore allegiance to a deity he holds no respect nor regard for. He honestly doesn't care about whatever gods exist. HOWEVER. As a demon, simply using holy magic actually hurts him so he's a pretty stingy healer and has a sword "just in case" he has to fight.
That said, he does actually have one thing he refuses to let go unpunished: a kid being injured/cursed. He might be a messed up demon but he draws the lines at letting kids suffer. When El asks about it and is like "haha what, did you have a bad childhood too, buddy?" he's like "???? How else would I end up like this? As a cleric? Hurting myself to heal? What the hell is wrong with you YES I had a bad childhood."

Why do you think he deflects compliments so much?! Accept them, you strange, beautiful man! I also love how Ryan called him out on a podcast once. “Learn how to take a compliment!!” They’re best friends and I love them and they make me soft.
I think it's because they are never serious with each other and so he thinks everything is a bit between them, so when Ryan is serious about complimenting him he doesn't know what to do, because they aren't like that. Men being genuine and expressing affection? It has to be a joke and so undermining it is a way of accepting it.
My brainrot/shipper reason is that I think he thinks he doesn't deserve compliments/good things said about him, and so Ryan being genuine is pretty wild to him because if Ryan thinks he has good hair/is his friend/is not strange and off-putting then why are they continuing this. Their on camera personas is being opposites, the skeptic to the believer the puppet professor to the prisoner who hate each other (that one interview where Ryan said he genuinely likes PH really changed how I preceive them. Like obviously Ryan would like doing it but the relationship of people being annoyed with each other (derogatory) is kinda more believeable than Ryan doing it because he likes working with Shane.), and so Ryan the person underneath it all genuinely liking Shane is not computing with Ryan the ying to Shane's yang or whatever. If you're oil and water then you don't like each other but Ryan here is reaching for things in the middle and showing that Ryan the person likes Shane the person. But there's layers of having a youtube career and being everything else at the same time. It's fascinating to me.

8 and/or 18 for the Rook Story Time Game?
thank you!! from these prompts and using my Juniper Aldwir :)
8. A time Rook argued with someone they care about.
"If you you cared you would have made sure the map wasn't destroyed when you went back to those ruins--"
"If you cared you wouldn't have wanted anyone to die! Even if I knew the map would fall apart crossing back over the wards a second time, I couldn't just leave them there!"
Their voices ring across the clearing, the other Veil Jumpers uncomfortably not meeting each other's eyes as they pretend not to listen in. The stone wall Strife and Juniper Aldwir stand behind is still open to the sky, and does little to mask the argument that's been raging between them for almost twenty minutes.
"Don't try to walk on it yet," Irelin quietly advices the elf who's broken ankle she's just finished bracing between two sticks. "We'll help carry you back to the camp." He nods, his movement singular and sharp, teeth still gritted against the pain. Neither he nor the other three injured elves say anything as they wait. They won't meet anyone's eyes, either, as they listen to Strife shout about how they should have been left to die.
"Everyone here knows the risks. Any one of us could get trapped in ancient magic at any time. And now we'll all continue to be in danger from whatever's at the epicenter of that warded area the map lead to."
"We can find another way in," Juniper insists. "The confusion aura around it that turns us back can't be impenetrable. If there was a map through it once, we can make a new one."
"We won't be doing anything. I think you should go."
"I--what?"
There is a moment of silence then, following the disbelief that rings in Juniper's voice after his last words. When Strife speaks again it is quieter, his tone final. Irelin is still close enough to hear what he says next.
"You clearly don't respect the mission of the Veil Jumpers. Maybe you need some time away to consider how your actions impact the rest of us."
"So you're kicking me out, just like that? For making sure people following my directions aren't killed?"
"I'm kicking you out because you refused to follow orders. This time it saved people, but next time it might get more killed. It's not your call to make."
"You know what? Fine."
The group hastily find reasons to be looking anywhere else as Juniper strides from behind the crumbling stone tower, and back into the clearing. She doesn't acknowledge any of them as she heads to the pile of gear and picks up her pack, slinging it across one shoulder while she reaches for her staff.
"Where are you going to go?" Irelin asks quietly, watching her.
"Dunno. Not that it's the Veil Jumper's business anymore, apparently." The anger has returned to Juniper's voice, but there's a crack in it now too, that belies how upset she really is.
"He doesn't mean it. Not forever," Irelin tells her. "Just give him some time to cool off, before you come back." She tries to hide her own doubt about how long his anger will last, but Juniper shakes her head anyway. "That dwarf who ran into us at the ruins--we've met him before, during that time last year with all the Venatori--maybe you can talk to him. He's staying at the inn at D'Meta's crossing. His name's Varric."
"Thanks," Juniper says. She straightens, and stares ahead into the trees. When she starts walking, she doesn't call farewell, or look back.
18. Rook trying to impress someone.
"All right. Let's head back towards the markets," Rook says, and launches herself from the Treviso rooftop and across the alley two stories below. The drama of the moment is ruined as her chest slams into the opposite rooftop, hands scrabbling at the tiles as she slowly hauls herself up and over the edge to safety.
Lucanis and Davrin watch silently, wincing at the sold thump when her body hits the building.
"Did--she mean to do that?" Davrin asks.
"Let's not ask," Lucanis mutters, and springs to make the jump himself, landing cleanly on the other side.

My memories and feelings won't ever let you go
Cherrypit paused, stopping in the middle of the path. On a whim he pulled out his Dark Knight stone. It was still a little broken, even after all the hard work they had all put into fixing it. Sidurgu was the most worried about the whole thing. Though most of his anxieties came from the fear of what Babycorn would do to him if she found out something happened to Cherrypit under his watch. A grave inevitability that Rielle loved to remind him of. So far Cherrypit had been having no luck locating where Myste had gone. Yet for some reason he felt like he was really close by. "Misty? Misty where are you?!" He cried out. Cherrypit really missed his friend. He missed a lot of his friends. A lot of them he hadn't seen for a long time. Part of him constantly wondered if he had made them mad. Mad enough to leave and never come back.

alphinaud hears something scary in the middle of the night
It was late at night and the Fortemps manor was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The reason for that was probably because it was just that late. Most everyone was either gone for the night or fast asleep.
Alphinaud, on the other hand, couldn’t get himself to sleep.
Perhaps it was the anxiety bubbling up inside him at the attempt they would make to get into Azys Llat the next day. Rather than toss in turn on his bed he decided that maybe a walk would get him at least a little more tired.
Even if he was just walking in circles in the manor, that was better than nothing.
Just as he was about to make a turn in a hallway-he heard it.
One of the most horrifying sounds he had ever heard in his fourteen years of being alive. ‘OOouuuuuuuhhhh…’ A ghastly wailing sound that was coming from right behind him.
Alphinaud froze, his blood ran cold. “That…It can’t be…” There was only thing he knew of that was capable of making such a noise. It couldn’t be anything but a ghost…A spirit…A specter…
The scariest thing imaginable.
Or maybe, it had just been his imagination. There actually wasn’t a ghostly wail coming from down the hall. It was just his exhaustion getting the better of him. Of course, yes that must have been it. “Perhaps…Now it’s time for bed.” Everyone knew that ghosts couldn’t get you if you were in your own room.
Or guest room in this case.
Just as Alphinaud was about to retreat, another loud wail filled the hallway. This one was even longer than the last. “Alisaie if this is your idea of a j-joke it’s not very funny…!” If she was behind this, it wouldn’t be the first time she pulled something like this.
And it wouldn’t be the last.
There was yet another wail and that’s when Alphinaud had enough. He soon grew fed up enough to partially ignore his fears. So when yet another wail sounded he decided to listen closely to try and tell where it was coming from.
The answer turned out to be from a hallway closet.
“Who’s in there?” He asked. When he didn’t receive an answer he figured that whoever was on the other side must have known they were caught. As he turned to walk away however, there was another wail. “That’s it-!” Clearly whoever this person was wasn’t going to stop until he confronted them.
Problem was, what if it was actually a real ghost in there……
Real ghost or not he was going to see this through. Without even giving it a second thought, Alphinaud closed his eyes and held his breath as he swung the closet door open.
The moment the door opened he heard a gasp and the sound of several things falling onto the ground.
Alphinaud opened his eyes, just a sliver. A smudge of yellow in front of him gave him all the clues he needed to figure out who was hiding inside. “Babycorn?!” Of course it was her.
It was starting to feel like whenever there was something going off, Babycorn had to be right at the center of it.  On occasion it was Cherrypit instead but still it felt like Alphinaud had signed an invisible contract to have to deal with the repercussions of everything that either sibling got up to while they traveled together.
At least things never got too boring.
There was a piece of cloth on her head, probably one of the things that had fallen on top of her when Alphinaud opened the door. Along with a broom and a pile of dust. She looked up at him with the biggest eyes that he had ever seen on her.
Something was off.
Babycorn sniffled, “H-Hey Alphie..” Her eyes were still watering and her smile was one-hundred percent fake. “What’s uppppppp?” For some reason she was trying to be casual despite Alphinaud finding her in a broom closet in the middle of the night. She was not going to get out of this one that easily.
Now that he thought about it, he couldn’t recall ever seeing Babycorn cry.
Despite Babycorn’s state there was a small sense of relief when Alphinaud realized that there wasn’t a ghost. “Babycorn what are you doing in here?” That was most likely the right question to lead with.
“...I’m sitting in a closet.”
“So you are.” Well she wasn’t wrong. “But why?”
Babycorn took a while to answer. The little gears in her head turning to help her think of an answer. “Causeeeeeeee I’m not sad??? And I don’t want Cherry to see me crying…..?”
“Should I assume that you mean the complete opposite then?”
Babycorn slumped down. “Yeah…” No way she was gonna get anything past Alphinaud. She knew he was WAY too smart. Not that she would ever admit it to his face. “It’s just…About something that happened before.”
“Before?” Well that was vague.
“Cherry…he…” Babycorn hugged her legs closer to her. It made her look even smaller than usual. “We were having cookies earlier and he kept just reminding me that I can’t eat all of them.”
“Because you would get a stomach ache.” Alphinaud was familiar with the reasoning.
Babycorn scoffed. “I wish…” It felt like it had been forever since she scoffed or did anything of the sort at him.  “No he…” Admitting this to Alphinaud of all people didn’t feel right.. “Wanted to save cookies for when Haurchefant came back…”
At first he couldn’t really believe what he was hearing. Just hearing Harchefant’s name again briefly brought him back to that moment. “Babycorn…Lord Haurchefant is-”
“I know he’s dead…!” Babycorn threateningly whispered at him. “I mean I don’t remember a lot about when it happened but it’s…it’s Cherrypit that thinks he’s still alive.”
Alphinaud tried to recall what Babycorn’s reaction to Haurchefant’s death was.
Nothing was coming up. It made sense he was too busy having his own reaction. In a way he was a little jealous of Babycorn, he would give anything to not have to remember how Haurchefant looked in his final moments.
“Cherrypit was there. He saw what happened.” Alphinaud had seen first hand how Cherrypit had run ahead of everyone, putting himself right in the crossfire. It would be remiss of him to say that he had been the reason Haurchefant had jumped into action so quickly.
..But Haurchefant would have done that for almost anyone.
“I know he was there…!” They were all there! Including her. “It’s just…he doesn’t understand that he’s…never coming back…”
Alphinaud tried to think back to when he was around Cherrypit’s age, but not much was coming up. Only vague memories of playing with his sister and his grandfather. It would certainly be a stretch to believe that a toddler would have an accurate perception of what death is.
Maybe something could also be said about Cherrypit’s own unique relationship to death. If Babycorn had told them the truth then Cherrypit had seen her die with his own eyes, and then he brought her back to life as if nothing happened.
It really should have come to no surprise that his perception of death was a little warped. As much as Alphinaud didn’t like to think about it.
“That’s why I kinda wanted to ask you all a favor.”
“If it’s to act as if Lord Haurchefant is still alive I’m sorry but I-”
Babycorn held her hands out towards him in a panic “No, no! Nothing like that!” Acting as if someone was alive while KNOWING they’re dead…Babycorn wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
It wasn’t like Alphinaud wanted to purposely break a toddler's heart but Babycorn had to know that Cherrypit was going to figure it out eventually. Especially because in a way, Cherrypit was even smarter than she was. Alphinaud had unfortunately seen it firsthand.
“Just…Don’t correct him. You don’t even have to say anything but please just let him be when does something like this…”
It wasn’t easy for him to agree to it but Babycorn sounded desperate. “Alright.” That was that, the deal was struck.
“Thanks Alphie.”
It was a really really weird thing for Alphinaud to see Babycorn being so sincere to him. When he already spent the last year and a half putting up with her childish nature and her occasional chomps towards him.
There was still something else bothering him though.
“Babycorn. Why do you sound like a ghost when you cry?”
Babycorn, eyes shrank. All of a sudden her whole body started shivering. “G-G-G-G-G-G-G….?!” Even her teeth started chattering as she looked around her in a complete panic. “I'M SCARED OF GHOSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!” She screamed at the top of her lungs, very loudly.
Before slamming the closet door shut right in Alphinaud’s face.
“Babycorn…” And they were having such a nice moment too. But this too was just another one of her Babycorn-isms that Alphinaud had grown accustomed to. Somehow. Maybe acclimated was the right word.
…He also wasn’t sure if he felt better or worse knowing that Babycorn was just as scared of ghosts as he was.

I heard the words sinner oc and boy would I! Tell me about yours. I got three of my own but their refs ain’t done yet and I actually am thinking about making them an askblog soooo information about them shall be postponed for the time being
-Ink Anon
I probably won’t ever get as far as an askblog or official art for mine but!
Her name is Cal and she’s a sort of composite of the works of John Steinbeck, particularly East of Eden, which was pretty influential on my young mind when I read it back in the day. If I had to describe her it would be “arrogant but well-meaning,” the sort of person who would rather buy an expensive gift earned through hard labor and cunning business practice than give something cheap and homemade. My entire vision for her is that people perceive her as shallow or vain for this, when in reality that couldn’t be further from the truth, and that leads to the sort of main conflict of her story.
I won’t get into the nitty-gritty, but Cal’s genuinely supportive of her team. She believes they will do the right thing with encouragement, and does her best to provide it, even if she does come off as mean or back-handed. Her canto revolves around reconciling with a family that fell apart because of rampant communication issues and projecting one’s vision of the ideal over someone else’s. Let’s just say, she mouthed off a fair bit in the past, and ended up shattering a lot of hearts as a result. She wants to try to mend things as best she can even if they’ll never be the same again. But to do so would require her to actually state her feelings to the people she cares about, instead of lashing out when frustrated or hiding behind her uncaring facade.

Does vhagar hold grudges
This ask seriously has me wondering if she would and, once again, it sends me to the question of "how intelligent are the dragons in ASOIF?".
To be fair, I think to a certain degree she would hold grudges. She is one of the oldest creatures in-universe, but I bet that she would still have that "my rider did this x thing, so i will do this y thing to show them I am displeased with their behavior". That would be fun to watch
