Not me over here just casually coming up with a dark fic idea aka The Worst Thing Eliot Ever Did (For Damien Moreau). I know there are heaps of theories out there already. But this idea ... I am probably gonna end up writing it one day.
Yes it's dark. Yes it involves kids. Yes it will hurt. A lot.
I have no regrets.

Little Revision of Edith
Name: Edith Amoure Sinclair (Or just Edith)
Gender: Genderfluid, He/She/They/It (Or just any pronouns)
Height: 6.4 ft
Age: Late 20s to early 30s
Personality: Acts very warming to who checks into their inn to stay for a bit, whether it be to recover or just want to hang out, Edith doesn't mind. She however will snap anytime a cult is mentioned or when his place is trashed without reason. Generally will keep their mood on the low out of fear of losing patrons.
Occupation: Ex-Cult member, now Inn Owner (It owns a Inn called "Inn Sinclair" which is named after them)
Biography: Edith was born & raised in a cannibalistic cult in one of provinces of a far away continent. The thing was.. Edith hated it there as she never understood why the ppl he knew would eat their own kind. At the age of 9 however, Edith began to take a liking to cooking they never rlly liked the idea of eating human meat + the food they were given was often not cooked fully thus giving it food poisoning. Edith sadly wasn't allowed to cook for himself in the cult so she ran away at the age of 16 to start a new life. After 3 years of camping out in the wild they found a inn she can stay in, it was empty however, no cooked food or clean floors/rooms, this was when Edith decided to finally have a new life as a Inn owner, thus recycling this old & ruined inn into the one we have today. Throughout the years Edith became very rich due to the amount of travelers coming in to stay, that he decided to fund other growing Inns to other first starting Inn owners & other first starting out businesses in her town. Sadly it's unknown if Edith will likely give up their own history since it's body would afoten want to crave human flesh & Edith has to bite themselves to relieve that craving.
Description: Edith is a pale, almost female looking individual but who clearly has a masculine voice. She has a pale-blond coloration in her hair that fades to white at the ends & has around a few stripes of ocean blue, pine green, & rose red stripes in their hair. They have brownish-green eyes with a hint of light blue in them. Edith also has red freckles but those are often covered in the dress/robe it wears. While adventuring, Edith wears a red, white, & bronze dragon-like mask with red & bronze armour, the mask distorts his voice just incase anyone dangerous does come up to her. Edith is actually a good hunter & fighter & will beat you the hell up if you mess with them at the worst times.
This idea is for a frend of mine named Ash/Ashes. If you(Ashes) by any don't want this goober than I can keep em, or give this idea to someone else.

This would actually be a really cool rewrite and a really cool way to fully flesh out the story while also giving it an interesting end. I like the change in Yhwach's motivation, the deal he made with Yamamoto. It makes it more compelling and also kinda makes Ichigo's powers less Gary Sue-esque, I guess. Him having a part of Hogyoku, a part of the Soul King within him, thus stabalizing his soul when he was a child because I'm pretty they said somewhere that he should've been torn in the womb for being a hybrid mess of Shinigami-Hollow-Quincy-Human. His powers kind of being sealed so he could a human was Kisuke's wish for Hogyoku so it did that but over time, Ichigo grew stronger and more aware of spirits.
Rukia and the Hogyoku Aizen planted inside her kickstarting his powers makes their whole friendship way more awesome as well because they're actually connected in a spiritual way. It makes Aizen and Ichigo's final fight more impactful-- the two halves of the Hogyoku fighting
Ichigo sealing his own powers away after Aizen is gones but slowly getting them back. Ginjo hearing about him and his powers and becoming interested. He wants to steal the Hogyoku in Ichigo but ends up only stealing a portion of it. Ichigo, believing that he had now lost his powers indirectly sealed them once more and Rukia comes back to kickstart it once more because even if the half of the hogyoku that had been in her is gone, some of it's reiatsu lingered and that came through in their connection along with all the other captains reiatsu
Ichigo gets his powers back and blah blah blah but rather than Ginjo training Ichigo and all that shit, it's more of Orihime and Chad's arc where he only joined because he was unwilling to leave them to this weird shady guy that wouldn't leave him the fuck alone
The whole thing about the zero squad and Yhwach using Ichigo to find where them and the Soul King were hidden is a really cool idea as well
Having the Soul King actually have a consciousness rather than being sealed away in an orb and a mutilated body kinda sounds like a cool idea too. Him making the conditions of the SS better (especially for RUKONGAI, yes I'm fucking bitter about that)
I'd be content with that sort of ending but if you wanna include the hell arc you can still do all the same shit as canon cause I'm pretty sure it was stated in one of the light novels that the Soul King didn't do anything to Hell beyond closing the gates
But in comes Kazui the even weirder hybrid. Who apparently sends innocent souls to hell behind his parents back??
But whatever. Yk those creepy hollows from hell that we saw in the No Breathes From Hell one shot? Yeah, I want Orihime's mom to have been attacked by one of those guys and that's how she became a fullbring. Yes, I'm doing that because my girl deserves actual screen time and some explaination on how exactly she became a fullbring just from proximity to Ichigo's reiatsu. If that was true, Tatsuki, Mizuiro, and Keigo should've gotten powers as well.
Anyways so some weird soul/genetic bullshit happened and Kazui, rather than having similar hollow powers to his dad, is a Shinigami-Hell Hollow-Quincy-Human (Fullbring I guess??) hybrid.
That's why he can open the gates of hell the way he did.
Also him taking a part of the Hogyoku from Ichigo in order for his soul to be stabalized
(Wow, the Kurosaki line is so fucked up when you think about it. If Kazui and Ichika are a thing like Kubo was hinting at, the soul situation of their offspring would be so fucking weird)
Anyways back to what I was saying, whoever the antogonist of the Hell arc is probably manipulating the kid and teaching him some fucked up shit and that's why his parents seem to have no clue
I'm pretty sure Hell is said to be an actual entity so maybe it's using Kazui in order to upset the balance because he's sending souls to hell right? Idk why it would do that but it'll be like an army and all the dead captains, arrancar and quincy.... yikes, they'll be facing the original gotei and all the other dead captains and Kenpachis
Since Yhwach is kinda gone in this rewrite you wouldn't have Kazui absorbing/destroying/what ever he did to Yhwach's soul wouldn't happen
That concludes my rant

Observation: SuMo Doomed Team Rocket
Tumblr media
A follow-up to this post.
OK, “doomed” is hyperbole and just a way to grab your attention. By and large, what I said in the previous post still holds true. Team Rocket is still in much better shape now than in the AG/DP days where their presence in every single episode wore out the characters’ welcome. However, something needs to be said about Team Rocket in the Sun & Moon anime series when compared to the following series that is known as Pokemon Journeys internationally.
In SuMo, as I have said before, Team Rocket miraculously returned to the highest quality of characterization possible for them; the same quality they had in the Original Series when their creator Takeshi Shudo was around. They were kept in a great status quo where they lived in a secret base in Alola, constructed above Bewear’s den. They were competent villains who always got rescued by Bewear upon failing rather than getting “blasted off”, while being successful legitimate business operators to fund their operations on the side. They had routine contact with Giovanni and a budding rivalry with his secretary Matori and her own special militarized Team Rocket sub-group. They got involved with interesting storylines such as conflicts with Team Skull, infiltrating the Aether Foundation, learning to master a Z Crystal, and doing their part to assist during the crisis with Necrozma. They had wonderful, fully fleshed out Pokemon companions whom they formed a tight familial bond with: Mimikyu, Mareanie, Bewear and Stufful. In general, Alola just seemed to bring out the best in them.
Unfortunately, this ended up posing a problem when taking them into Journeys. How were the writers going to be able to top all that material in SuMo? The answer ended up being...they couldn’t. Despite some unique points like their personal criminal lair and the gaccha machine that allowed them to use any number of random Pokemon, and some recurring plot threads early on like their attempt to harness the power of Dynamax and them being stalked by a Morpeko that eventually is caught by James, the more the series went on the less Team Rocket ended up appearing, and whenever they did appear their material was dictated by what was already done in the past rather than anything new. Don’t believe me? Just look:
Tumblr media
It just ended up feeling like after over two decades, the well of inspiration had run dry for Team Rocket. In hindsight, this was evident as soon as the gaccha machine was introduced. SuMo had set such a high bar with the bond Team Rocket developed with their Pokemon that the writers found it too daunting to try reaching or surpassing it, leading to a device that allowed Team Rocket to use different Pokemon each episode and thus not develop bonds with any of them. Morpeko was the sole exception, and sure enough it ended up feeling pretty “meh” compared to the Alola Pokemon. At the end of Journeys, which was Team Rocket’s send-off as major characters alongside Ash and Pikachu, their final battle was a blend of their Nimbasa City Subway mission and Operation Tempest, both from Best Wishes, and their final plotline was an incredibly rushed and routine “the TRio splits up but gets back together” story; so routine in fact that Journeys already pulled one earlier! Atsuhiro Tomioka had no better ideas for how to bid farewell to Team Rocket beyond these reheated leftovers.
Their final appearance certainly wasn’t horrible or anything, but it was quite disappointing, especially in how marred it was by the last-minute Team Rocket break-up plot that could have been removed entirely and nothing would feel like it was missing. Team Rocket in the anime peaked as villains in Best Wishes, then as characters in Sun & Moon. There was honestly nowhere to go but down after that, and I guess we should feel grateful they were sent off before that downward spiral could progress to the point it became offensive to their legacy. Concluding their run at the end of Journeys, which used them sparingly, was the right call.

This is going to take a while to unravel, so bear with me. Everything is so intertwined, it is difficult to split into sections. This sequence will be in two or more parts.
Galadriel’s arc in season one revolves around her task.
"[Sauron] sees Galadriel, and knows that what she needs more than anything else is to find the evil that has plagued her for so long, and save Middle-earth." JD Payne, The Rings of Power Podcast 1×08
Remember that according to Patrick, “character after character in the show” tells Galadriel that her obsession is not a good thing. One thing we know with certainty: Vengeance cannot satisfy it.
Her task is directly associated with two things: 1) the dagger, and 2) the mark that Sauron carved into Finrod’s flesh.
Tumblr media
While it makes sense on the surface (or to someone like me, who had not read the books before watching the show), there is much more than meets the eye. From Galadriel’s perspective, the dagger is special because it was Finrod’s, and (it is assumed) she views it as a symbol of his task—now hers. However, on The Boat, we see a peculiar attachment as she struggles to let go.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The reason behind this is simple. “The most important truths often are,” says Finrod, but we must learn to discern them for ourselves; JD and Patrick will not always be there to speak them to us.
First, we trace this back to the source.
Tumblr media
In response to this, Sauron poses excellent questions, with which we may begin. He most certainly knows the answers to every single one by this point, which means each question is rhetorical. It would not be the first time he interrogates in this manner. But what is he trying to accomplish in the workshop conversation, specifically?
He is trying to make her think.
Tumblr media
Referring to the season finale, Charlie Vickers reveals that Sauron wanted Galadriel to figure out who he was.
Do you think he wanted Galadriel to figure it out? "Yes. He’s ready for her to see him for who he is, and he thinks she’s ready to know it." Charlie Vickers, The New York Times
We will return to this idea later. Now that we have established that every question is rhetorical, let us thoroughly answer each one:
Tumblr media
“What do you know of darkness?”
Galadriel first touched the darkness as she mourned over her dead brother; but for her, ‘touching the darkness’ was more than figurative.
Tumblr media
Yes, Sauron could have seen (or perceived) this memory as it flashes through her mind, but he somehow knew about this moment before. He triggered this memory for a purpose: to make her stop galloping, and give herself a moment to think.
He is trying to tell her something, while giving her room to figure it out, herself.
Tumblr media
“And there, in the darkness … “
Tumblr media
” … his vow … “
Tumblr media
” … became mine.”
Next question. It is no wonder that Sauron knows who the dagger belonged to, but to mention it as a follow-up seems like an answer, in and of itself. It is as if to say: “This is what you know of darkness.”
Tumblr media
“Whose dagger was it, Galadriel? Who is it you lost?”
Answer: Her brother, Finrod Felagund, who was the High King of the Elves at the time of his death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“What happened to him?”
Wow. We have suddenly been asked an extremely loaded question. Galadriel gives the short answer:
Tumblr media
“He was killed in a place of darkness and despair, by servants of Sauron.”
This is a wonderful summary, but even Galadriel asks, “Is that enough for you?” She knows (as well as we), how long it would take to explain.
… But Sauron asked for it.
Tumblr media
We must make an attempt. This is one of the most crucial pieces of information. A gander in The Silmarillion answers this question more fully; (and oh boy, is it a long one). We shall delve deeper into the story of Beren and Lúthien.
WHAT HAPPENED TO FINROD?
There is so much to cover, but we will dissect as much as we possibly can. Let us begin a bit before Beren’s arrival in Nargothrond, for a little background (taken from The Silmarillion: Of Beren and Lúthien).
King Thingol loved and cherished his daughter, Lúthien, above all things. When she brought Beren before him, he said “in scorn and anger”:
‘Who are you, that come hither as a thief, and unbidden dare to approach my throne?’
Insults were exchanged, lives were threatened, and at length, Thingol said to Beren:
‘Bring to me in your hand a Silmaril from Morgoth’s crown; and then, if she will, Lúthien may set her hand in yours. Then you shall have my jewel; and though the fate of Arda lie within the Silmarils, yet you shall hold me generous.‘
To which Beren laughed and responded:
‘For little price do Elven-kings sell their daughters: for gems, and things made by craft. But if this be your will, Thingol, I will perform it. And when we meet again my hand shall hold a Silmaril from the Iron Crown; for you have not looked the last upon Beren son of Barahir.‘
Thus, Beren undertook a daunting task, indeed. A while after his departure, he saw Nargothrond afar off, and “being destitute, without hope or counsel, he turned his feet thither.” The Elves of Nargothrond were aware of Beren as he traveled through.
But knowing his danger he held ever aloft the ring of Felagund; and though he saw no living thing, because of the stealth of the hunters, he felt that he was watched, and cried often aloud: ‘I am Beren son of Barahir, friend of Felagund. Take me to the King!’
The Elves surrounded him, but spared his life, and bowed to him upon seeing this ring. They led him by night “lest their paths should be revealed […] to the dark gates of their hidden halls.”
The stage has been set, and we switch gears momentarily. Galadriel explains what she thinks is Finrod’s vow in the beginning of episode one:
Tumblr media
“My brother vowed to seek [Sauron] out and destroy him.” Galadriel
Considering that Galadriel has a habit of assuming things, and jumping to conclusions in the first half of season one, it is understandable that this is not Finrod’s true vow. [Sauron also has a habit relevant to this, which will be discussed later.]
Finrod did make a vow, though, and it came “upon him for his death”; just not for the reason that Galadriel thought. She had to have gotten her belief from somewhere (there are some possibilities, but let us not get sidetracked). This part of the story was not changed for the show; there is a purpose for this. [I do not believe the Tolkien Estate would have allowed something like this for no reason. You will see why.]
Tumblr media
First, we must go back to Dagor Bragollach: The Battle of Sudden Flame.
[…] King Finrod Felagund, hastening from the south, was cut off from his people and surrounded with small company in the Fen of Serech; and he would have been slain or taken […]
Tumblr media
[…] but Barahir came up with the bravest of his men and rescued him, and made a wall of spears about him; and they cut their way out of the battle with great loss. Thus Felagund escaped, and returned to his deep fortress of Nargothrond; but he swore an oath of abiding friendship and aid in every need to Barahir and all his kin, and in token of his vow he gave to Barahir his ring.
The Silmarillion: Of the Ruin of Beleriand
What was Finrod’s true oath? It was one of “abiding friendship and aid in every need to Barahir and all his kin.” What is the token of his oath? Not the dagger. It is his ring, which he gives to Barahir. It is eventually passed down to Aragorn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Knowing Finrod’s true oath, let us return to Beren’s arrival in Nargothrond (again, taken from Of Beren and Lúthien).
Thus Beren came before King Finrod Felagund; and Felagund knew him, needing no ring to remind him of the kin of Bëor and of Barahir. Behind closed doors they sat, and Beren told of the death of Barahir, and of all that had befallen him in Doriath; and he wept, recalling Lúthien and their joy together. But Felagund heard his tale in wonder and disquiet; and he knew that the oath he had sworn was come upon him for his death, as long before he had foretold to Galadriel.
Tumblr media
“But you must learn to discern them for yourself. I won’t always be here to speak them to you.”
Tumblr media
“You won’t?”
Tumblr media
Ow.
“Behind closed doors they sat,” it says. A crucial detail. Finrod’s conversation with Beren was in secret.
Beren, being the son of Barahir, fell under the ‘kin’ category in Finrod’s oath. Finrod had to help Beren with this task (which was to retrieve a Silmaril from the Iron Crown of Morgoth, and bring it to Thingol), and knew that it would spell his own death.
He spoke then to Beren in heaviness of heart. ‘It is plain that Thingol desires your death; but it seems that this doom goes beyond his purpose, and that the Oath of Fëanor is again at work. For the Silmarils are cursed with an oath of hatred, and he that even names them in desire moves a great power from slumber; and the sons of Fëanor would lay all the Elf-kingdoms in ruin rather than suffer any other than themselves to win or possess a Silmaril, for the Oath drives them. And now Celegorm and Curufin are dwelling in my halls; and though I, Finarfin’s son, am King, they have won a strong power in the realm, and lead many of their own people.’
This next statement is the key.
‘They have shown friendship to me in every need, but I fear that they will show neither love nor mercy to you, if your quest be told. Yet my own oath holds; and thus we are all ensnared.’
Finrod basically said: “If we tell anyone about your task, your life is in jeopardy. If your life is in jeopardy, I must protect you. Thus, revealing the details of your quest would start a war.”
It is interesting that this scene cuts from Finrod’s statement straight to this:
Then King Felagund spoke before his people, recalling the deeds of Barahir, and his vow; and he declared that it was laid upon him to aid the son of Barahir in his need, and he sought the help of his chieftains.
Finrod did not say what Beren’s specific need was. Yet, Celegorm still repeats the oath of his father (because a ‘great power’ was moved ‘from slumber,’ by Thingol simply mentioning the Silmarils in desire). The following statement shows that if the details of their mission were revealed, the outcome of Finrod’s announcement would have been far worse.
Then Celegorm arose amid the throng, and drawing his sword he cried: ‘Be he friend or foe, whether demon of Morgoth, or Elf, or child of Men, or any other living thing in Arda, neither law, nor love, nor league of hell, nor might of the Valar, nor any power of wizardry, shall defend him from the pursuing hate of Fëanor’s sons, if he take or find a Silmaril and keep it. For the Silmarils we alone claim, until the world ends.’
Proof of the threat of war:
And after Celegorm Curufin spoke, more softly but with no less power, conjuring in the minds of the Elves a vision of war and the ruin of Nargothrond.
Then, their land was darkened, and the sons of Fëanor (having their hearts darkened) wanted to usurp the throne from Finrod.
What does all of this entail? It means that there was room for rumors to be spread, and assumptions to be made, as to why Finrod helped Beren, and what the task was. Finrod’s was an oath of friendship; why did Galadriel say something that was rooted in vengeance?
Threat of treason did not sway Finrod from fulfilling his oath. “I must hold my bond,” he says. He and Beren, with ten (very) loyal companions set out. They came upon a company of Orcs, slew them, and by the arts of Finrod, thoroughly disguised themselves as Orcs. They came “far upon their northward road, and ventured into the western pass, between Ered Wethrin and the highlands of Taur-nu-Fuin.”
But Sauron in his tower was ware of them, and doubt took him; for they went in haste, and stayed not to report their deeds, as was commanded to all the servants of Morgoth that passed that way. Therefore he sent to waylay them, and bring them before him.
In other words, Sauron noticed some suspicious activity from these twelve supposed Orcs, and had them brought to him. Thus, the contest of the songs of power took place between Finrod and Sauron, and “the King was very great; but Sauron had the mastery.” Finrod lost, Sauron stripped them of their disguises, and “they stood before him naked and afraid.”
The question: ‘What happened to Finrod?’ will be answered in a few moments. As you read the following, ask yourself why he died.
But though their kinds were revealed, Sauron could not discover their names or their purposes.
He cast them therefore into a deep pit, dark and silent, and threatened to slay them cruelly, unless one would betray the truth to him. From time to time they saw two eyes kindled in the dark, and a werewolf devoured one of the companions; but none betrayed their lord.
Sauron obviously knew of the existence of Finrod. However, he clearly did not know that this particular Elf was the High King.
One might say that Finrod’s task is one of the most important things in the show, considering Sauron tortured and killed to know it (along with his identity). Even though he never found out, he still sees things, and therefore perceived something.
In the pits of Sauron Beren and Felagund lay, and all their companions were now dead; but Sauron purposed to keep Felagund to the last, for he perceived that he was a Noldo of great might and wisdom, and he deemed that in him lay the secret of their errand.
Unfortunately for Sauron, saving Finrod for last meant that Beren would have to go first. This brings us to Finrod’s end. Why did he die? Because his task (and identity) were kept secret, and he was bound by an oath.
In answer to your question, Sauron …
Tumblr media
“What happened to him?”
Here is the long answer.
But when the wolf came for Beren, Felagund put forth all his power, and burst his bonds; and he wrestled with the werewolf, and slew it with his hands and teeth; yet he himself was wounded to the death. Then he spoke to Beren, saying: ‘I go now to my long rest in the timeless halls beyond the seas and the Mountains of Aman. It will be long ere I am seen among the Noldor again; and it may be that we shall not meet a second time in death or life, for the fates of our kindreds are apart. Farewell!’ He died then in the dark, in Tol-in-Gaurhoth, whose great tower he himself had built. Thus King Finrod Felagund, fairest and most beloved of the house of Finwë, redeemed his oath; but Beren mourned beside him in despair.

hi there soo I thought of an au so I decided to share it so basically Eren is a king and mikasa is his queen of course and Sasha is mikasa’s lady in waiting/ handmaiden , since mikasa is kinda considered foreign to the Eldian and with want to ensure the continuity of Yeager line ( founding titan power being inherited through genes ) as much as possible ( they want a shiton of heirs) , the kingdom council and the ppl started pushing for a 2nd fully eldian wife , Eren and mikasa were fully against it until they knew they had to give to the ppls demands thus Sasha was suggested since her and mikasa are close friends and mikasa trusts Sasha and knows she will not harm her or her future children neither will Sasha’s kids do ….. yeah that’s pretty much it so what’s your opinion? If you like it maybe give it a one shot or some head canons to flesh the story out a bit , thanks ❤️
Omg i love ittt! I feel like I always do eremikasasha established so this prompt actually feels sooo fresh! I am assuming this is like an canonverse au in which Eren is king instead od the Reiss family right? Or is it a whole new different universe?
Either way, i feel like these ideas can work out oretty well as a storynfor it!
It has been six months since Eren was forced to rule Paradis Kingdom along his chosen queen, Mikasa Yeager from Hizuru, ever since the assesination of the former King and father, Grisha Yeager
So far things have gone smoothly for them, it's not like they got so much to do as the former rulers of Paradis Kingdom since almost every decision made about the future of its kingdom was always made by the kingdom council, they could suggest some chabges here and there but nothing
It's not like that was the life they wanted to be fair, Grisha Jeager was so adamant about their relationship ever since he discovered Mikasa's heritage, forbidding Eren to ever choose some outsider as his wife unless he was willing to marry someone from the walls too! Just like he did when he married Carla and Dina Jeager!
Obviously Eren was taking none of it, getting ready to elope with Mikasa to anywhere if that meant being with her for the rest of his life! She was the only constant in his life ever since they found each other when they got lost in thw woods afterall (don't tell this to Armin tho), if it wasn't because of the rebel group that killed his father just days before he could proceed with his plan, he would have taken Mikasa to somewhere in the mountains already!
That's why, when the ghost of his father's demands appeared through the kingdom's council asking him to consider marrying someone who "wasn't a mere outsider" he almost killed the old man who suggested it, if anything, for saying such a thing in the pressence of his lady
The push for a second queen became stronger when rumors started to spread through the town about Mikasa's heritage and how she came from a clan that had a story about opposing the Jeager Royal Bloodline (Ackerman), and how there was a possibility that their offspring wouldn't inherit the Titan genes running through Eren since she was an outsider, making the townsflolks join the kingdom council side in the matter
Before things escalate higher than they should and a new rebel group starts to form, it is Mikasa who asks him to agree with it stating that "I don't care how many women do you have to marry as long as I get to be by your side for the rest of my life, Eren" voice at the edge of breaking at the prospect of losing him
He really wanted to take her with him right there, the idea of eloping once again in his mind but this time looking less possible, they were the leaders of Paradis afterall, there was no way they could make it out of the walls without being noticed, reluctantly agreeing to get a second wife the next time he had a meeting with his coulncil
Several women are suggested by the kingdom council, all of them coming from well known royal families with the only purpose of creating bonds in between families, nasty glares sent at Mikasa whenever they are told about her, hidden intentions masked in vague suggestions to better leave the throne for her own "safety"
So far no one has been chosen and Mikasa can't help but vent about everything to Sasha, her long friend and lady of honor, the only one who she trusted, her only girl friend who could understand her position and the crippling fear that started to swallow her
Maybe it was because it pained her so much to see her queen-friend like that, so she didn't give it too much of a thought before offering herself to be Eren's second wife/queen, the suggestion taking Mikasa aback for a quick moment before she realized it was the best choice!
Sasha was just everything they needed, she was fully eldian, she had a good connection with the Royal Family even in she was just her handmaiden, and since she was aware of eveything, she could just pretend she was Eren's wife in front of the townsfolk! She won't actually have to be Eren's lover!
When Eren was told about the idea he agreed to it right on the spot, it was the best course action so far sincerily he would rather have someone as Sasha as his "wife" rather than the snakes that the council tried to push him for, even if he doesn't know the girl as much as Mikasa did
Even if the townsfolk got their doubts about Sasha as a queen, it was good enough, and even if the council tried to refuse they didn't enough reasoning to do so
Their wedding went smoothly and the kiss they shared at the altar was probably the most awkward they ever had, both because of Sasha's lack of experience and for the lack of feelings between the two of them
It was fairly easy to play pretend from that moment on, whenever they were out in the public Eren and Sasha just had to hold hands or maybe some forehead kisses here and there, sometimes mixing it with wholeheartedly affection for Mikasa too to truly show his commitment
The 3 of them get to know each other on a more intimate/private level too! Mikasa gets to see a more bubbly and easy going Sasha who always had to show herself as a level headed servant, and Eren would actually have so many things in common with her, like how they loved to hunt for example
From Sasha's side, she would actually enjoy being with them, she would love the nice 180 degrees change her life did, and the fact that she could her the little town she grew up in with her influence as queen was a nice plus! But still she actuallu enjoyed how she was able to meet Mikasa on a more personal level too! She always admired her ever since she took her in when despite daring to steal her ring that one time, and Eren wasn't that bad to be honest, he was better than his father at least!
The more time passes her feelings start to change, so many time spent pretending to be Eren's wife start to take a toll on Sasha the moment she starts to appreciate the little gestures he does for her, like the countless times he made his men deliver food and supplies to her town and her family for her help or all the time they spent hunting together just as a hobby
The more time oasses, Sasha can't help but feel a little envy of Mikasa and how Eren seemed genuine whenever he had to show his affection for her, kisses and little gestures of love shared between them that she also felt but certainly didn't made her feel in the same way it made Mikasa feel, at some point her mind taking a dark path and making her doubt herself when she pictured herself tasting Mikasa's lips or she letting her head rest in her lap after a long day travelling around the walls, her body full of shame at such thoughts, she was supposed to be a mere puppet in this after all, she can't get in their way
What she doesn't know is that the same is happening for the two of them! With Eren sometimes showering her with so much affection than needed or trying so hard to show himself as a loving husband when he could just do the bare minimum, or sometimes Mikasa having intrusive thoughts on her mind about how Sasha looked so beautifully when she enjoyed herself and doing evrything possible to make her smile more, way too invested in her happiness with them for some reason, guilt filling them as well and even worse, considering how she was off limits and just helping them with their selfish request, a selfish request that didn't served a purpose if they were struggling to keep their feelings on check
The more time passes, the council and the townsfolks start getting more desperate for an offspring, specially from Sasha's part, since she was the fully eldian queen, that being Sasha last straw
They get into a argument the moment Sasha asks them to stop this ruse, since there was no way she could have Eren's children like this, chaos enssuing the moment they try to woo her with materialistic things, edging her into admitting how her mind and her feelings for them have grew so strong she wasn't sure what was she thinking anymore, and that she was afraid she would do something that crossed the line she wasn't supposed to cross and that it would lead up to things ending horribly between the three of them, something she didn't want
Eren and Mikasa share an knownful gaze before they start admitting their own feelings too, how Eren started to appreciate Sasha more and more and how his appreciation for her help turned into something bigger, Mikasa almost on the same situation, her admiration for her altruism awakening something inside her that could be labeled as blasphemy for everybody else
That same night where they became honest with each other was the same night that held so many firsts, a first kiss shared in between the girls that made robbed the air out of their lungs and the sould out of their bodies, feeling so wrong and at the same time so right, their shame forgotten in the hopes of feeling their soft lips against each other, the very first kiss shared between Eren and Sasha that seemed genuine, Eren.letting himself feel for her in the same way she feel for Mikasa and Sasha answering wholheartedly like she have always wanted but denied for so long, the shackles of her conciouness coming undone as her clothes did, a last kiss shared between Eren and Mikasa as assuranse of their love, that there was nothing wrong for feeling the way they did if they were able to keep loving each other jusy they way they have been ever since they promised, only this time, letting themselves shsre their love for the very same person that bothered to help them
At the end of the day, it was a win/win situation, they got to preserve their love for each other and at the same time managed to keep everyone happy, the several offsprings they conceived the purest form of their love...
I'm sorry for keeping your ask on waiting for this long lol, I really wished I did a drabble if I took this long but I really wanted to flesh out everything about this prompt lol
I'm also very impressed I didn't do smut with this 🤣perhaps a short drabble about that last part could be ideal??? Let me know if you think so!

Taken from twitter. If you were curious here are some of the inspirations I used when creating Paralysis (Aka my Antasma based exe)
The first bit of inspiration comes from an exe made by twitter user JeyoJaJa (Not sure if they have a tumblr or not) named Freakazoid. While I haven’t kept up with their lore. I love the design and the style used for it. So when making the image of paralysis. I wanted him to have the same sort of creepy vibe. If I succeeded at that. It’s up to you to decide. But I think I did an alright design with the first version.
The second bit of inspiration comes from a DC villain known as Doctor destiny. Basically he gained possession of an artifact known as the Dreamstone. allowing him to manipulate dreams and, as revealed in the sandman graphic novel. During an encounter with the justice league he was left unable to dream and became all outstretched. While I haven’t read the sandman series. I loved the irony of a dream manipulator not being able to sleep himself. So I basically lifted that and doctor destiny's motivation of wanting to dream again for Paralysis. The third bit of inspiration comes from well...Sleep Paralysis. I mean come on, the guy is named paralysis after all (that and I wanted to name him after a sleeping condition) and sleep paralysis just happened to fit the best. IT also vaguely inspired the state his victims are left in during an encounter and frankly. Paralysis basically being a sleep paralysis demon just fits in my humble opinion. This may seem odd but Paralysis is also based on our ability to scare the shit out of ourselves for lack of better words. As an example, have you ever mistaken a bundle of clothes for a person lying on your floor? Or though something was gonna jump out and scare you fnaf style. That’s the kind of horror I wanted to invoke with Paralysis. How his method of fearmongering relies on the victims minds wandering and conjuring up their own demons. I though it’d be a unique for an exe to do that. Mix that with me adoring Antasma growing up and thus, Paralysis was born.
For some other factoids. While I haven’t written down a fully fleshed out origin for Paralysis. I was thinking of basing paralysis on some kind of sleep based god/entity. Such as the slavic godess Moranna or some other deity. I’ve also considered making Paralysis a human at one point that got warped. But those are just ideas with nothing concrete as of now. But regardless, I hope you enjoyed this ramble. Make sure to check in for more art, lore and other things. Have a wonderful day or night.

@nvrcmplt said (inbox):
The waters were never really that inviting to his kind, but the sensation of the heat was something that pulled him closer. That and Nanami's scent heavily inside. Passing through curtains with a curious stare he found himself in awe of the nudity. Himself fully clothed but nothing batted an eyelid as he mimicked another gentlemen in picking a basket and stripping to nothing. A towel was eased from its folded placement to be stared upon with a brow risen. It was far too small to cover him completely body wise but it seemed, that was not how it was meant to be.
Thus, following another and then his nose, he covered his groin with the flimsy length garment and took to walking through curtains again to the more wet room. Another culture shock - but one with someone he desired to share it with. Stepping through the showers and finding himself copying once more, he washed his hair, face and rinsed in the hot water to finally move on. Padding around the large open bath and it's occupants until he came across Nanami's form.
Though it seemed busy - there was hardly anyone inside the hot water, so Weissager deemed it more relaxing than he thought? Still, he moved with slow motions, one foot at a time to slip into the depths and when he was fully inside and seated besides Nanami - the Hound couldn't help but sigh in bliss. Turning his gaze from the others to the blond besides him and openly looking down the exposed flesh with a playful smirk, as hand crept from his lap to Nanami's thigh to rest in silence.
Tumblr media
WHEN ONE GREW UP going to bathhouses, the exposure of it all became so normal that you didn’t even bat an eye at the nudity. All of it was just like going through a routine no differently from getting ready for work in the morning. You grabbed your towel after stripping, tied it about your waist and went about your business. Some didn’t even do that much. Nanami had explained things to Weissager before they had gone to the bathhouse together, although he knew it might be fairly uncomfortable for them. After all, it could be quite a shock to someone unused to such sights or even unused to temporarily discarding modesty for the sake of cleanliness. As much as Nanami would have preferred to make his way home and bathe, taking the bullet train covered in…all manner of things did not seem the wisest of ideas. Thus, the only other place he could go to was the bathhouse.
After having thoroughly cleaned himself, he had stepped into one of the large tubs and sat down to make himself comfortable. Back pressed against the edge, his eyes closed as he awaited Weissager’s return, although he had to admit that he was fairly amused at the thought of the hound looking around feeling quite out of place. When he heard someone else step into the waters, he opened his eyes to look up at them, his lips curling into a small smile upon seeing that other’s familiar face. After having been around the other for months on end, it still felt odd seeing their skin bare like this. Weissager was always covered head to toe, and so he found himself staring for a moment – perhaps a bit longer than intended before he turned his gaze away and attempted to pretend otherwise. He felt the water sloshing some more as Weissager took a seat beside him, though he didn’t pay much mind after that. They would both just enjoy the heated waters in silence, tired muscles soothed by the warmth of it all.
     Or so he had thought.
He tensed with surprise for a moment when the other’s hand came to rest upon his lap, green eyes quick to turn to the other as they gave him a smirk. Heh…so it was like that, huh? Turning his gaze away from where their hand rested, he looked into Weissager’s crimsons pensively, his eyes saying one particular thing: “just you wait.” They could tease him all they wanted, but in the end, it was Nanami who would have the last laugh. How rare it was for someone like him, someone so controlled in their mannerisms and behaviors, to feel like this. Perhaps this hound had greater powers than he had thought…or maybe they just knew exactly how to make his heart race without even trying.

Second of the Lovesick redesigns are done. The differences here are borderline absurd.
Kanae Mitarai, later to become Kanae Amano, is a character I haven’t yet fully fleshed out. What I know about her so far is that she was likely younger than Akki when she fell in love, hence being a bit shorter and having bigger eyes, she had a closer relationship to her crush (who was not her upperclassman, thus I will not be calling him her senpai) than Akki, perhaps already courting him when others began to be drawn to him, and unlike Akki she may not suffer any diagnosable mental illness and likely lacked the traumatic upbringing that shaped Akki, however I’m not sure on that last part yet.
Regardless, Kanae was an immoral person, a fifteen year old who’d always had a dream, literal and figurative, of finding the one made for her and living a perfect, idyllic married life with him. She longed for a life full of unconditional, dedicated, borderline worship-like love. She believed she was finding this when she fell for her classmate whose name I couldn’t be assed to even come up with and began courting him, however this was short lived. But at this point, she had attached her crush to this dream and believed that if she were to ever live it out, it had to be with him, and she had to keep that dream no matter what.
Kanae, unlike Akki, probably only had one rival, and was arrested for her murder. However, at the trial, she put on a huge show. She cried hysterically the whole time, talking about how much the whole school was going to miss Youko, how she hoped she was okay and would return to them safely one day, and how the idea of her being dead and burned to nothing like trash was utterly horrifying, she couldn’t imagine that ever happening to anyone, especially not poor Youko. Ultimately, due to a lack of evidence and Kanae’s act in court, she was declared innocent, and Youko’s case went cold. Over time, rumors began to surface of people claiming to see Youko’s ghost in the third floor girls’ bathroom, which became an urban legend over time with murder (at Kanae’s hands) no longer suspected as the cause of Youko’s disappearance.
During the period where Youko was a threat to Kanae, she went to various other lengths trying to keep her away, from flirting and clinging to their crush, to bullying her behind his back, to deliberately trying to ruin first her social life and then her entire life, ultimately resorting to just ending it.
Once I draw adult!Kanae I’ll talk more about her relationship with her husband and daughter.

Continuation - Hello! You choose which lore you want to do whether Modern/non-genshin lore or Genshin lore! Also include anything else that you want to add! (such as sad backstories, how they are in the presence, in the future, etc!) - Dreamist
Hi hi!! Okay okay,, so I’ll infodump as much as I can about the modern lore here. Rei’s genshin lore is a bit too complicated and isn’t fully fleshed out yet so—
Rei’s a very interesting character in terms of personality. He’s incredibly kind and patient, almost unnervingly so. He’s always been a fairly timid and gentle character. His outward appearance shows that perfectly, but you’d be surprised to find out how dark he can be.
It’s mostly due to his past. Rei had a bad childhood. His father worked abroad and his step mother neglected him. He often got bullied at school as well and constantly got into fights because of it.
Back then when he was much younger, he was moreso of a pushover. He lets others trample on him since he had no idea what to do and he felt as if he deserved it. Until one day, he just… seemed to snap out of nowhere. And the only person to ever help him out during this was Allen, his only friend whom he met in high school.
Most of his character development focuses on this. He’s always felt like an outcast and tried his absolute best to conform to society and fit in. But the pressure put on him by his peers and his step mother was too much for him to handle, thus he simply gave up and lashed out at everyone around him.
He slowly but surely learns to accept himself with the help of Allen. He started thriving during University and became much happier once he left his household and lived on his own. He realized that snapping and lashing out at others was the worst thing he could’ve done, and he regrets it deeply. There’s never a time where he doesn’t feel awful about it.
In fact, this is why he’s so patient and kind. He doesn’t want others to go through what he did, and he doesn’t want to repeat his mistakes ever again.
However, don’t mistake him for a pushover. He isn’t like that anymore either. Rei will put his foot down if absolutely needed. And sometimes he feels a bit bad for it even if it was absolutely necessary and right for him to do so.
Rei’s also known to be pretty sensitive, paranoid, and stubborn. I’m sure you can tell why by now :P
He’s also very passionate, loyal, and sentimental. Not to mention, incredibly hardworking and observant. Rei is an artist who went through so much to get to where he is now. He uses his art as a way to express himself and tell his stories. It would be near impossible for you to stop him from achieving his dreams.
Right now, he currently lives with his husband Lawrence (and their calico cat Elise) and has two adopted sons. The actual story he’s in starts a few years before that, when he meets his husband and works with him as his assistant in an animation studio.
Other than that… there’s nothing else to say aside from a few more fun facts or tidbits:
Rei has ADHD and SAD. He also used to suffer from selective mutism but it’s been treated ever since he went to University
His name is inspired by Juuzou Suzuya from Tokyo Ghoul and Studio Ghibli’s co-founder Hayao Miyazaki
He’s actually my first trans ftm character which is why he holds a special place in my heart. He will forever be my biggest comfort character <3
His birthday is on June 26, his zodiac sign being Cancer. He’s currently 29 but is around 25-27 during the story
He’s an INFP, has a soft spot for grumpy mean idiots like Lawrence, loves strawberries, and is a hopeless romantic
I think that should be enough information for now… hope you enjoy hehe

The Tale of the Stars and the Ocean
Tumblr media
The Lost Scripts
<<< The Tale
Although tales handed down orally underwent several changes over time, the Tale of the Stars and the Ocean had the peculiarity of keeping its Sanskrit text more or less similar to the older versions. Recently, a new text was discovered in the ruins of a flowering city, nicknamed as Lotus, with a strangely specific new part of the tale of the Stars and the Ocean.
And that changes what was an ancient tragedy into an epic novel, capable of overcoming the barriers of time.
Their anguish reached the other gods. The crying of the Ocean was already hurting the Earth a lot. And the grief of the Stars could be felt by the Sun. The Seasons used everything they could to try to cheer up their old friend and even the Moon gave the Stars a gift so that they could shine again as before.
It didn't take long for the other gods to realize that their fellows would only be sated if they could feel what they felt when they had flesh and bones again.
Moved by the destiny that their nature imposed on them, the gods bestowed a unique boon on the Stars and Ocean.
They would be the only gods able to govern their domains while keeping mortal bodies on Earth, being called Guardians.
All so that their infinite existence would be encapsulated in human bodies for the rest of eternity. Life after life after life until the end of time.
The Stars and the Ocean readily accepted the gift, uttering a thank you that would echo through all of creation, desperate to find each other again.
Thus, the Stars and the Ocean became human again. Once more, they felt that they were too small to contain their greatness.
And that was phenomenal.
However, the gods did not allow them to remember their past existence; when they were gods. It would be too much for any fully mortal mind to handle. The gods only left an instinct rooted in the human hearts of the Stars and the Ocean.
They should look for each other in any life.
They were born and raised. They were glorious kings and simple peasants; honorable princes and brazen thieves; legendary warriors and ephemeral librarians. Sometimes they knew they were supposed to rule the Stars and the Ocean, but usually they had no idea. They were always happy, despite knowing, deep down inside, that they were looking for someone special and unique.
The Stars, in their mortal bodies, remembered this whenever they drank a simple glass of water or dedicated themselves to swimming. And every night, the Ocean remembered that he needed something else as it went to sleep looking up at the Stars.
The dream world they entered was the only place where their past glory was allowed to be relieved, only to be quickly forgotten in the morning. There was where they danced, laughed and loved forever, until they were forced to wake up.
The Ocean even tried in one of his lives to carve the beauty of his beloved in the rock, saying that he had seen her in a dream. The other humans said it was crazy. That woman was certainly imagined.
But he knew she was out there, waiting for him somewhere.
They lived life after life after life.
Until they find themselves in one of the most unlikely of lives, where their lives have taken more twists than they could have expected.
After all, even though Varum, the name Ocean went by in that life, always found a life full of adventures cool, he never expected that his career as a historian/archaeologist would lead him into the black market business and, later, into an interdimensional mess.
When they saw each other, they immediately felt a sense of familiarity. A deja-vu difficult to explain. They knew they knew each other, even though they had never seen each other before in (that) life.
Their first dialogue was definitely not as melodious as the one they had in another life.
But it was certainly just as memorable.
"You can call me Harbour"
In this life, the Stars still had their bright eyes and that singular fascination with gold. Her voice was fun and her laugh, not at all rare, for the happiness of the world, was the melody itself.
"I prefer water boy"
The Stars for a brief moment, remembered everything. In a flash, she knew that she loved and would love the reincarnation of Ocean who was in front of her until the end of her time there. In an intensity that only gods who have sought themselves for centuries could love. It felt like a love that only happened in fairy tales.
Therefore, her human and ignorant part, preferred to believe that it was just a tale quickly created in her head.
" Do I know you from somewhere? "
She asked, searching her human mind for some reasonable memory of the man in front of her. He just reminded her of the Ocean.
He sent her a mischievous smile, that mysterious edge of someone who is calm on the surface but hides many treasures within.
"I would remember if I knew you"

i was in the middle of writing a post when i got into an idea for ANOTHER post so I opened up a new tab just to type this one. So Ganthor's a cat alien. he comes from a race of sexy furry aliens. they were designed to not have the western concept of gender, either. yeah when I was sixteen I was like "I WANT A HOT HUSBAND AND HE'S AN ALIEN THAT WHISKS ME AWAY FROM MY CURRENT LIFE" that's literally what was originally gonna be how he was introduced. except NSFW. now that i think about it, it kinda rips off of Sailor Moon's ending...which doesn't make sense since I came up with Ganthor BEFORE I learned of the ending to Sailor Moon.
anyway. the more i rewrote and rewrote his concept, the more I became attached to him and developed his species. He didn't fully develop as a character until very recently. his species was pretty nailed, but he was still.... he was introduced/talked about before he was fully FLESHED out. nobody even knew what he looked like. Even I wasn't 100% sure. I was just like "BTW Empurress has a husband. a hot one." one day.
anyway, onto the alien aspect of this post. He's a cat....but he's an alien. that joke has been run into the ground so many times it's not funny. He has many many feline features, but he's not fully a cat you can expect.
It was only...two-three years ago that Ganthor was actually drawn to life instead of just being written to life. and that's a whole other story, if I haven't told tumblr yet. With Ganthor's visuals fully being drawn, I fell even more in love with him as my OC. I even jokingly say he's my husband when I introduce him to people.
I feel like he isn't very alien though? He looks like a relatively normal furry OC at a glance... does he need more physical features that stand out instead of just being ability related such as turning blood into metal or being super strong and fast?
I love his current reference so so much, I talk about it whenever I can. I do not want to part with it in the slightest. Maybe...the rest of his species can look differently than HE does? Maybe HE should be somewhat of a mutant for his kind? the guy has implied child-abuse issues, may even be autistic, was born with a new scientific discovery and thus biologically have three dads. So him being abnormal might not be too far out of the park!

Things Left Unsaid -- An Analysis of Rei & Touya
Apparently Rei has been getting a lot of flack lately, all of it undeserved, and since I had a post analyzing her relationship with Touya in the works already, I figured no time like the present.
Disclaimer #1: There are a lot of issues with the writing for Rei’s character that have nothing to do with her and everything to do with how the storyline is using her, which I will address and examine.
Disclaimer #2: I’m someone who, while always curious as to what kind of relationship Rei had with her oldest son before he died, never thought it would be revealed that Touya was close to his mom. I don’t think you get the Dabi we see in Chapters 290-295 without him being so warped by his relationship with his father yet so dependent on his attention that he was willing to kill his brother and himself simply for his father’s acknowledgement.
But that’s what I find so interesting about Rei and Touya -- it’s a relationship that mainly consists of regrets and things left unsaid. There isn’t the anger or resentment Dabi feels for Endeavor, because that intense level of emotion sprung from the loss of the father who used to be his whole world. His feelings toward his mother seem more amicable, but also more distant.
And while she could’ve done some things differently in regards to her oldest, I want to make it clear that the distance between them was very much by design.
After all, Touya was the end goal of their marriage. It was never any secret as to why Enji wanted to marry her and to some extent Rei must’ve realized that this child was not meant to be hers: the child was the transaction, the thing she was needed to create, to give to her husband. Of course she loved Touya and was likely his primary caregiver for most of his life, but there was no doubt that once his quirk manifested and he could begin his hero training, his life would be dominated by his father. Which is what happened.
Tumblr media
Here, I would like to point out something I noticed in the flashback chapters. We never see any panels of Enji alone with any of his children during their infancy -- even with Shouto, the perfect child he longed for, we see Rei holding Shouto, sitting by him as he sleeps. Enji is there tangentially. Once Shouto begins his training, that is when we see him with his father.
So to see Enji with Touya when he was a baby, prior to his quirk manifesting, strikes me as a big deal. But it makes sense if you remember that he’d placed all his hopes, dreams and expectations on his firstborn. Initially, it doesn’t look like he even considered the possibility that Touya wouldn’t be his successor or that his little eugenics experiment would fail; this was his first, most optimistic attempt at a masterpiece. So I don’t believe it’s far-fetched to see him spend more time with Touya right off the bat (it’s what will make the eventual abandonment all the more crushing).
However, Rei isn’t seen at all in the snippet of Touya’s infancy, despite us knowing she was relegated to the caregiver role. Rei is literally out of the picture. Compare this to how she features prominently in Shouto’s infancy or how we see her holding a baby Natsuo. You could argue that, hey, we don’t see her holding a baby Fuyumi either, but there’s other scenes where Fuyumi’s attached to her mother’s hip or crying over her being hurt. Things that suggest a closeness, when the only scene we get of just her and Touya is one where they’re at odds.
As we move further into Touya’s childhood, though, Rei becomes the only voice we hear advocate for him against his father. I’m referencing two specific instances:
Tumblr media
When Enji coerces her into having more children to replace Touya now that his father has deemed him a failure, something she knows will hurt their son deeply.
Tumblr media
And after Touya lashes out at Shouto, which Rei doesn’t blame on Touya, but rather on his father. She delivers such a satisfying condemnation of his actions, probably the most cutting one Endvr’s received to date, and it so accurately sums up one of his major character flaws.
Tumblr media
How can you call yourself a hero when you can’t even face your own son?
The tragedy of it all is that Rei never said any of this in front of Touya -- it was always said in private, just to her husband. That alone took courage, yes, but it would’ve meant everything to Touya to hear her condemn his father aloud. Instead when she does speak to him, she says this:
Tumblr media
It’s why I can’t wrap my head around that scene in Ch 302, where after Enji admits he didn’t know what to say to Touya, Rei replies, “Neither did I.”
When we’re shown in flashbacks during that same chapter that she did understand her son. “He just wants to be acknowledged by you” is quite the indication that she, at the very least, understood the cause of Touya’s turmoil even if she couldn’t fully relate to it herself. So why can’t she say any of this to him?
The answer is in the way she addresses Touya, as it is nearly identical to how Nao addresses Tenko in this scene:
Tumblr media
Both Touya and Tenko grew up in similar households: the father had all the power, physical and financial, so the mothers were left to try and comfort their children in a way that didn’t go against their husbands’ desires -- and so, to use Tenko’s own words, they would “reject them with kindness.”
So it’s no wonder that Touya lashes out at his mother after she suggests he pursue other things. He isn’t five like Tenko was, he’s thirteen and has a much clearer understanding of why she says this and why it’s a bit hypocritical, since he’s aware of her situation, too.
Just as she was bound by her family, who wanted her to marry Endvr for the money and status, he’s bound by the expectations of his family. I’m not sure if I’ve seen anyone else touch on this detail, but when Touya states that he knows his grandparents sold his mom into marriage so his dad could have a child, we could infer that Touya knows enough to realize that his mother might not have necessarily wanted him.
Not him specifically, but any child — the story has neglected to flesh her out beyond her marriage and motherhood, so we have no idea if Rei wanted to become a mother prior to this arrangement, despite how much she loves her kids now — although it is possible that he might’ve internalized it this way.
So you have Touya, who at least knows with certainty that his father wanted him to exist, yet he comes to understand that his father only wants him if he can meet a specific set of expectations, and if he cannot, he’ll be discarded. If he can’t surpass All Might, he can’t fulfill his reason for existing and his father will have to replace him. So to have his mother urge him to follow a path other than becoming a hero would mean, to Touya, accepting that he is the mistake he fears he is. Of course he isn’t going to respond well to that.
I don’t like when people try to compare Touya’s reaction in this moment to Shouto’s when Rei tells him he isn’t bound by his father’s blood, using that to paint Shouto as the “good” child and Touya as the “bad” one. They didn’t react differently because of any innate sense of goodness or lack thereof -- they reacted differently because the situations are different.
Telling Shouto that he didn’t have to be like his father comforted Shouto, who only knew his father as the bully who hurt his mom. He associated his father, and his father’s fire, with all of that fear and pain -- and thus, he associated the part of himself that took after his father with those feelings. She wasn’t denying his dream of becoming a hero, only assuring him that when he became a hero it could be whatever kind of hero he chose to be, that he wasn’t doomed to be like his father.
Whereas what she tells Touya sounds a lot like what his father told him, which was to give up on being a hero and pursue other aspirations.
Tumblr media
Encouraging Shouto to become his own version of a hero still falls in line with what Endvr ultimately wants, which is for Shouto to be a hero capable of surpassing All Might. Whereas this is what happens when Touya continues to train to do that against his father’s wishes:
Tumblr media
This is where the framing begins to bother me and where Rei’s characterization becomes inconsistent.
So in this scene from Ch 302, we see Enji abusing his wife for “letting” Touya continue to train, punishing her for her “failure” to stop him. Obviously, none of that is Rei’s fault. If anything, Enji would be more responsible for preventing Touya from hurting himself since he’s the reason his son is hurting himself in the first place.
Moreover, the fact that he hits Rei over this sort of muddies the water of an previously-established narrative. Since the Sports Festival arc, we’ve known that Endvr abused his wife because she tried to interfere with Shouto’s training. It got to the point where she was terrified of her husband and it drove her to a breakdown. Why introduce this new aspect to the abuse, when it was already established that a) he was physically abusive and b) his motivations for abusing her were explicit to the audience?
I’m not saying it doesn’t make sense that a man who hits his wife for one reason could find another reason to do it and justify his actions to himself. And while the scene does portray Endvr in a bad light to show how wrong his actions are, literally draping his figure in shadow, why does it even dare to suggest the idea that Rei was remiss in her duties as a mother? Again, the scene isn’t even necessary, since the narrative has long-since showed the audience that Enji abused his wife.
By itself, the scene would read as further exploration of how Rei was victimized and how it affected her children. When you look at it with the chapter as a whole, though? Remember, this is the chapter where Rei claims that all of the family shares the blame in what happened to Touya, displacing some of the blame that rightfully rests on Enji.
But my major gripe with this scene is how it reframes the sole moment we get of Rei and Touya alone. Because we know that Rei understands Touya, based on her confrontations with her husband in Ch 301 & 302. Rather than encourage him to be what he wants or acknowledge that his father is in the wrong, however, her advice falls in line with what Enji wants -- to stop Touya from training. And this comes after a scene where we see Enji beat his wife when she doesn’t stop Touya from training.
With all that in mind, it could potentially be read as Rei trying stop Touya for the sake of protecting herself and the family -- I don’t think it’s coincidence that in the scene where he hits her that we see Shouto, Fuyumi & Natsuo all as witnesses who are very distressed by what’s happening to their mother -- at the cost of Touya’s need to be validated. And if executed well or at least better than it has here, that wouldn’t be a bad choice of narrative per se, and it would fit into the pattern where the households the villains were raised in -- notably Shigaraki, Dabi & Toga -- mimic the society they live in, just on a smaller scale.
Except. Does that sort of narrative make sense based on what we already know about Rei?
Certainly, it is natural to want to protect yourself under physical and/or emotional duress by appeasing your abuser. This sort of complicated dynamic appears in the Shimura family, too. Just like in the house that Kotaro built, the Todoroki family revolves around the desires of the abuser and is dictated by his whims.
I would argue that Nao does give us a well-written example of this narrative. From the beginning, it’s established that she loves Tenko dearly. But in the house her husband built, there’s no room to love her son as he deserves. She prioritizes the feelings of Tenko’s father for the sake of maintaining peace in the household and this is established quickly and plainly.
Early on in the flashback, Kotaro exerts his control over the house, while Nao + her parents look uncomfortable. Despite this, we watch as they comply with his rules, all at the expense of Tenko’s feelings. When she stands up to Kotaro at last, it is not where Tenko can see and already too late. It’s a painful story, full of regret and sadness, but it is consistent from start to end. Nobody feels out-of-character or there to prop up anybody else.
So why doesn’t Rei feel as consistent in this narrative?
Because it doesn’t fit with everything we knew about Rei prior to her abuser’s subpar redemption arc.
The way she interacts with Touya would make sense, if this was how she was portrayed from the start. However, her behavior in Shouto’s flashback -- where she was first introduced -- contrasts what we get in the later Todoroki flashbacks.
Tumblr media
Let’s compare this to the scenes in Ch 302. Here, Rei interferes on Shouto’s behalf. She advocates for her son in front of Shouto where he can hear. She stands up to his bully/villain and tries to protect him, while also validating his feelings in the process. Directly after this, Enji hits her, not for failing to comply with his demands, but for defying him.
It is difficult to reconcile this Rei with the Rei we get in Ch 302. And if you try to find an in-story reason for the inconsistency, the options either do a disservice to Rei or make things even more painful for Touya. But I’m sure most of you have realized that I’m going to suggest a reason for this inconsistency that goes beyond the canon.
Because when Rei was first introduced in the story, Endvr was unequivocally the villain in the Todoroki family, not some misguided patriarch trying to atone for his “past” mistakes. Years later and in the midst of his redemption arc, the narrative seems to be intent on making this man more palatable to readers, and it’s used Rei at every opportunity to prop up his efforts to be better. Often, though, it takes some of the heat off Enji by displacing it onto other family members, most significantly Rei & Touya.
Like, you can literally see the difference in the frame from early in the manga to now:
Ch 39: Endvr trains his five-year-old to the point where he’s throwing up due overextension and being punched by a fully grown adult who is also his father. Rei tries to protect her son and gets slapped by Endvr. All the blames rests squarely on Endvr, who is clearly the aggressor and painted as the villain here.
Ch 302: Endvr hits Rei for not preventing Touya from sneaking out to train, knocking her to the ground. Again, Endvr is clearly the aggressor, but oh this time it’s not driven solely by his selfish desires it’s also cocnern for his son; Rei is the victim but oh she also should have been watching him more closely, and oh well why was Touya going out in the first place, when everyone has told him to stop and he knows his mom will get punished for it?
Honestly, I can understand where some people have mixed feelings over Rei’s character, particularly since the writing has done her such a disservice recently. With that being said, however, it takes a minimum amount of critical thinking to recognize that while you can criticize some choices she made, you cannot hold her to the same standard of accountability as Enji, it’s absurd. The power imbalance was obviously tipped in Endvr’s favor, always.
It is a shame, too, that we can’t have more discussions that don’t turn into some readers (a lot of whom are attempting to make Endvr sound less horrible than he actually was) trying to demonize her. It’s doubly a shame the story itself doesn’t bother to flesh her out as a person, instead using her as a prop, because the complex relationships she has with Touya -- with all her children, really -- has plenty of room for exploration.
Like, there was no reason to add this new dimension of resentment due to her spouting Enji’s words back at Touya, when there was already a source of tension supported by previous canon -- the neglect the Todoroki kids suffered because Rei couldn’t be the parent they needed, due to her declining mental health and eventual breakdown.
Or, if you want to complicate their dynamic further, why not add something that focuses on Rei and has nothing to do with Enji? We learn in the flashbacks that Rei agreed to the marriage more-or-less to please her family, lamenting that she “intended to smile through it to the end,” essentially admitting that her hope was she could grin and bear it. It is telling that she had this attitude before entering her marriage; evidently, she was raised with the idea that she should be acquiescent to her parents’ whims and not express herself if she was only going to be contrary. Maybe she didn’t know how to deal with Touya’s very expressive, very emotional outbursts as a result. And her inability to respond would be the exact opposite of what Touya was seeking.
Not to mention that Touya died, and for the last decade, Rei was under the impression she had lost her son forever. He died while she was hospitalized, torn up with guilt over what she did to Shouto, only to find out that her other son died in a frankly horrific manner, and she could do nothing. By the time she would’ve found out, it was too late to even try to do anything. I can’t imagine what she must’ve felt in terms of regret alone, plus her grief. And I’m still mad we were robbed of her reaction to Touya being alive, because now suddenly there is a chance to do something, to change what was once written in stone.
Or what about Touya’s feelings for his mother, that have yet to be given much depth? As the oldest and most aware of his existence, it seems like he was the first to truly understand his mother’s situation and I can’t help but wonder: If Touya knew he vessel for his father’s ambition, and his mother was sold into role of creating/caring for him, did he question her love for him? Once he found out one parent’s love was conditional, it wouldn’t be a leap for him to consider it for the other. And yet if that’s true, Dabi doesn’t appear to hold any ill-will towards her for that. He was angry at her hypocrisy, because he knows she should understand, but her words to him didn’t reflect that.
All of that is fascinating and so much better than what we got in canon, so far at least. I’m hoping for them interact in the present at least once before the end of the series, and I think they will, but as to how satisfying a reconciliation it’ll be, I guess we’ll have to wait to see how the Todoroki plotline progresses from here on out.

To say you were nervous would be an understatement, you felt like your heart was going to burst out of your chest. You had invited Yoongi over for dinner, like you normally did on Friday nights, but this time you had an agenda. You were going to have sex with your boyfriend. Knowing this was your first serious relationship, he was determined to take it slow and make sure everything was perfect for you. While the sentiment was sweet, it had been a few months now and he’d still refused to pick up the pace no matter how hard you have been hinting at. Thus your agenda for tonight, you had no idea as to how you were going to get around it. But that was your goal.
Your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a key in the lock; Yoongi was here! Frantically, you moved to the bathroom to triple check yourself to make sure you looked alright. Straightening out the hoodie you stole from Yoongi over the pleated skirt you paired it with. Yoongi may have laid out strict lines for when to stop, but that didn’t keep his eyes from wandering over you so it wasn’t too hard to figure out little things that drove him mad.
“Angel, I’m home,” you heard Yoongi call out as he walked further into your apartment. Whenever he referred to either of your apartments as home, you got butterflies in your stomach. “Baby?” He called out again.
“Right here, Yoon.” You responded as you stepped out of the bathroom, conveniently right in front of him as he passed. You watched as his gaze dragged up your form, you felt your face heat up when his eyes met yours. For a split second, you swear you could’ve seen an unfamiliar flash, but it was gone soon as you saw it.
“You look cute, baby.” He said, pressing a kiss to your cheek as he passed by you towards your living room. You let out a small sigh as you turned on your heel and followed after him. He’d already made himself comfortable on the couch, turning on your TV to Netflix. “Anything you wanna watch before we get something to eat?”
You, you thought to yourself. Yoongi paused as he looked up at you with a bewildered look on his face. “I said that outloud, didn’t I?”
“Yeah, you did.” He confirmed, a smile on his face as he nodded. Attempting to hide from your embarrassment, you go to turn back towards the bathroom but his hand wrapped around your wrist, pulling you down onto his lap. “Got something on your mind, angel?” He raised a brow at you as his hand rested high on your thigh. “Mmhm?”
You wrapped your arms around his neck before moving to hide your face in it’s crook, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh you definitely do, angel.” His hand raised to cup your face, gently forcing you to look at him. “What’s this about you wanting me?”
“It’s just. . . We’ve been dating a while and I- I want you to. . .” Your voice faded away as you looked away from him.
You heard Yoongi let out a hum of amusement. “What is it you want me to do?” His hand dropped from your cheek, dragging down the side of your neck and shoulder, finally resting just above the swell of your breast. “Use your words, baby.” You opened your mouth, but no sound came out. “Come on, I need to hear you say it or else I’m not gonna do anything.”
“Iwantyoutotouchme,” the words flooded past your lips. While your words are hanging in the air, he said nothing. The only way you could tell he registered your words was the smirk pulling on his lips as his hand slid down to now fully cup you. He gave your breast a squeeze, eliciting a gasp from you.
His face closed in on your neck. “You want me to touch you?” He asked, pressing a kiss to the column of your throat. The question had heat pooling between your legs, you barely gasped out a faint ‘yes’ in response. Yoongi seemed to be reveling in your reactions to him as you felt his teeth graze against your skin, causing you to squirm on his lap. That small movement drew a groan from your boyfriend’s lips as your ass brushed against his growing bulge. “Fuck, baby girl.” His hands moved to your hips readjusting you on his lap so you were now straddling him. You could feel him pressed up against your panty covered core. Wanting more, you grind yourself down on him, reveling in the friction it provided you.
Yoongi’s lips made their way up your neck, over your jaw until they were hovering over you. His breath melded with yours as he stayed there, not moving to make any other advance. Meeting his eyes, you wanted to melt after seeing how dark and lustful his gaze had become. This was a whole new side to Yoongi you haven’t seen yet, and you were excited to see more of it. You leaned forward to finally reunite your lips with his but he pulled back.
“Wait,” he protested, his hands holding you still on your waist. “You sure you want this? With me?” The dark look in his eye had turned to something softer, more familiar. “I just want to make sure you’re comfortable.”
“Yes, Yoongi.” You breathed as your hand went up to cup his cheek. “I want this. Please.”
“Okay,” he smiled, then leaned up to finally kiss you. You had familiarized yourself with Yoongi’s kisses by now, always being soft and welcoming as his mouth worked against yours. This one was no different than those, but slowly you felt his hands begin to rock you back and forth on his lap. You let him move you against him, feeling his clothed cock through your thin panties. You let out a strangled moan against Yoongi’s mouth, breaking the kiss. You could practically feel his smirk plastered on his face as he kissed you again. His hands drifted up to the hem of the hoodie you were wearing. Pulling away, he rasped, “Can I take this off?”
Nodding, your hands dropped to meet his and pulled the clothing over your head, the air cooling your heated body. Tossing the hoodie to the other end of the couch, you now sat on Yoongi’s lap, his eyes raking over your naked torso. You had decided to forgo a bra, feeling more comfortable without one on, yet it still felt nerve wracking to feel so exposed. He said nothing, just sitting there and staring at you with dark eyes. “Can you say something,” you muttered as you moved your hands to cover yourself, but your actions were ceased by Yoongi’s hands on your wrists.
“You’re stunning, Y/N.” He said, kissing down your neck and collarbones. “If it makes you feel better, we can take my shirt off as well? Would that help?”
Your face flushing, you gave him a nod. It wouldn’t have been your first time seeing him shirtless, as you had snuck some glances at him while he was changing a few times. He moved to peel the fabric off his torso but something in you stopped him. “Wait,” he looked at you with a questioning gaze and felt the tips of your ears burn. “Can I take it off of you?”
The corner of his lips twitched up into a smirk and you swear you felt him get harder beneath you. “Sure, baby. You can take my shirt off.” He loved making you blush, he couldn’t explain it, but he did. And this moment was a gold mine of moments like that.
You let out a small, “Okay,” before wrapping your fingers around the fabric, pulling up slightly. Yoongi leaned forward, making it easier for you to undress him. Tossing his shirt to join your hoodie, you were now able to fully admire him as he was with you. Although you didn’t have much time to do so as Yoongi had pulled you into another hungry kiss.
Absentmindedly, you started to grind yourself down onto him, sparking a fire deep in your belly. Yoongi’s large hands go to cup your chest, giving them another squeeze. You let out a mewl, but it’s only silenced by Yoongi’s tongue. He prodded your mouth with the muscle before leaving it, kissing along your jaw.
His hands massaged your breast for a few moments, occasionally pinching at your nipple before abandoning them. You whined at the loss of his touch, but his hands went to your thighs, digging into your flesh. All these new sensations had your head spinning, but you welcomed it. Allowing yourself to get lost in his touch. His fingers began to creep under the hem of your skirt, inching towards the curve of your ass. You let out a whimper when his hands finally grabbed hold of you, squeezing your bum.
“Fuck,” he panted. “You want more?”
“Yes, more, more.” You whined as a hand dragged over the coved skin, until it sat right at the junction of your thigh.
“Ah, like this?” His hand went lower, ghosting right over where you wanted- needed him most. Nodding fervently as an answer, yet he refused to go any further than just brushing up and down your cloth covered slit. “You gonna be my good girl?” If you weren’t that wet before, you were definitely wet now. You gave him a shy nod. “Gotta say it, angel.”
“I’ll be good.” Soon as the words left your lips, he pushed the soiled fabric aside and let a finger glide across your sodden folds. Instantaneously, you let out a moan that Yoongi eagerly swallowed. His touch was light at first like he was afraid of hurting you, but with your moaning as encouragement, his one finger became two; gathering your wetness together. The rough pads of his digits met your clit, circling it gently. The feeling had you delirious, bucking into his hand.
“Someone’s eager,” he chuckled against you. “Don’t worry, baby. I got you. I got you.” With his slick fingers, he started to try and work you open. Which wasn’t too hard as he easily managed to slip them in. The feeling of his fingers inside you felt foreign, unlike any other time when you had touched yourself. Soon enough, he began pumping your fingers in and out of you. “Angel, you’re soaking. You like this? You like me finger fucking you?” His crude question had you involuntarily clenching around his digits, which only seemed to spur him on more. Yoongi seemed to revel in the way your body reacted to him, loving every second of it.
Obscene squelching noises filled the room as he plunged his into you. Curling his fingers, he was able to go father into you, reaching spots you never were able to before. With each thrust, the heel of his palm brushed against your clit, setting your nerve endings on fire. “Yoongi, I-” You sputtered out, “I’m gonna-”
“You’re gonna come baby? You can do it. Come on my fingers like a good girl.” He growled.
With that, you felt something snap in you. Wave after wave of pleasure washed over your body as Yoongi finger fucked you through your orgasm. “Yoongi, please, oh fuck- stop.” You choked out a sob as your head fell to lean on his shoulder, completely overwhelmed with ecstasy.
Instantly, he stopped his assault on your sex. He raised his free hand to your back, tracing circles onto your bare skin. “Shh, it’s okay. You did good.” His husky voice grounded you, slowly bringing you back. “So good baby.” He praised. You winced as he pulled his fingers from you, but you relaxed back into his touch. The two of you sat there for a few moments, catching your breath. Sitting back up, you gave him a satiated smile, to which he cooed at before raising his slick covered fingers to his mouth. You watched with wide eyes as he licked up some of your juices. He saw your heavy gaze on his action, licking your lips. “You wanna taste, angel?” A deep guttural sound left his throat when you nodded your head yes. His pupils were so large and dark, you could barely make out his iris. “Fuck. . . open your mouth, baby girl.”
Meekly, you parted your lips as his hand came closer and closer. You let his fingers prod into your mouth, your own hands went to grab at his wrist, keeping him still as you sucked his fingers clean. It was strange tasting yourself but you strangely enjoyed it. Glancing up at Yoongi through your eyelashes, the way he was looking at you was like he wanted to swallow you whole. It sent shivers through you, the face of your sweet boyfriend was gone and replaced with someone that looked insatiable. However it wasn’t something you wouldn’t mind seeing again.
You released Yoongi’s fingers with a lewd pop. Letting his wrist go, you let your hands fall to your skirt, smoothing out the wrinkles from your actions. You met his eyes again, his gaze never leaving you. He leaned forward again, pulling you into a sloppy kiss, all teeth and tongue. Beneath you, you could still feel his prominent hard on, pressing up against you. Feeling a bit bold, you placed your hands on his belt buckle and started fiddling with it.
“No, Y/N-”
“I want to,” you cut him off. “Please, I wanna make you feel good too.” Your voice trailed off.
A groan emitted from his throat, “You’re gonna be the death of me. I swear.” He ran his fingers through his dark hair, eyeing you carefully as you sat still on his lap. “You wanna jerk me off?”
“Yes,” you responded.
Yoongi leaned back onto the couch, giving himself a full view of the show. Taking a breath, you took his silence as permission to start. You fumbled around with his belt but you managed to get it undone. With trembling hands, you start to unzip his pants. Noticing your nervousness, he grabbed your wrist, ceasing any movement.
“Are you sure? We don’t have to.” He assured you, not wanting you to feel like you had to give him something in return.
“I'm sure. I’m just not sure what I’m doing,” you let out a nervous chuckle.
“You’ll be fine, angel.” He said, giving you a chaste kiss as he released his grip. Feeling a bit more relaxed, you finished unzipping his pants. In what felt like slow motion, you tugged down his boxers, freeing him of his cloth confinement.
You sucked in a breath as you took in the sight of his dick. Not having much to compare to, seeing as you’ve never seen a real one in person, but from it’s slightly curved shape to dusted pink tip; you wanted to call it pretty. Lightly, you traced your finger from his base to his tip, catching some of his pre-cum on the pad of your index.
“Fuck,” he hissed out. “Spit on your hand, need to get it wet.” Following his instruction, you spat into your hand. You didn’t need to be old what to do next, so you wrapped your hand around his length tenderly. You let your gaze flicker up to his face, watching as his lips part with a sigh. Slowly, you began to drag your hand up. He let out another low hiss, but said nothing to indicate that you were doing anything wrong. You drag your thumb over his slit, gathering more of his pre-cum and smearing it over his cock. Keeping a languid pace as you pumped him, you watched him. Completely enthralled with the way his face contorted with pleasure. “Faster.”
Pursing your lips, you stopped. “Say please?”
Peering at you through heavy eyelids, “You little tease. . .” He leered at you. “Please.” He repeated.
With a cheeky grin, you resumed jerking him off, this time at a quicker pace. He let out little grunts and groans, his noises motivating you go faster and faster. You continued to stare at Yoongi, making small tabs for future reference as for what he seems to like just from his expressions alone. For example, whenever you paid extra close attention to his tip, his tongue peaked out between his teeth as he sighed. You let out a soft giggle when you began to notice the pattern. If he had heard you, he gave no sign of it.
“Fuck! I’m close, baby.” He moaned. You started pumping faster, you felt your heart beat increase as his eyebrows cinched together. “Oh fuck, I’m-I’m gonna come! Fuck!” His head fell back as he cried out, spurts of cum shot out onto your hand and skirt. You don’t stop until he let out a low groan. Sitting back up, his eyes zeroing in on you. He cupped your face in his hands and kissed you again, all tongue and teeth. He pulled away, his hot breath fanned over your lips. “Maybe I should’ve let you do that sooner.” He chuckled. You giggled in return before you looked back down at the mess. He followed your gaze, “Ah shit. I’m sorry about your skirt.”
You didn’t pay much attention to what he was saying though. Your eyes were fixated on your cum covered hand. Without a second thought, you bring it to your lips. You let your tongue drag over your fingers, cleaning it of his seed. Once you licked it all away, you smacked your lips. A satisfied grin settled on your face as you looked back to Yoongi, who only responded with kissing you again.
“God, I love you.” He muttered against your mouth.
“I love you too,” you said as you gave him a peck, smiling into it. The two of you sat in silence as you calmed down.
“Let me uh. . . put my dick away.” Blushing you looked away, giving him some semblance of privacy. “It’s cute that you looked away, but you still have no shirt on.” He teased. Letting out a squeak, you covered your chest from his view, even though he already had an eyeful. Yoongi rolled his eyes at you before leaning over to grab the hoodie you had on earlier. Handing it to you, he said. “Here.” Rolling off of his lap and onto the couch, you slipped on the article of clothing. It was then when you finally got a good look at the stain that was on your skirt.
You weren’t gonna lie, you were a teeny bit upset over it. With a sigh, you shimmied the skirt off. The action caught Yoongi’s attention, raising a brow at you as you rolled up the soiled garment and tossed it aside. Moving to stand, you nearly crumpled to the ground if not for Yoongi catching you.
“Let me,” he said as he leaned down to pick you up bridal style. Before you could even protest, he shushed you. “Shh, let me treat my baby right.” With that he carried you to your bedroom, laying you down gently amongst your pillows. “Are you still hungry? We can order in or I could maybe whip something up in the kitchen?” He offered.
“Could we get a pizza?”
A smile on his lips, he nodded. “Yeah, we can get a pizza. Just let me change, still got my sweats in the drawer?”
“Mmhm,” you confirmed, pointing to the drawer you gave him. You both had your own drawers at each other’s apartments for any spare clothes that were left behind. The idea was to keep them separated and organized so you could pick them up and bring them back next time, but it evolved into your designated drawers for your things (your’s at his place consisted of things that you legitimately left there, while you had stolen Yoongi’s clothes).
After he had changed into the grey sweats, he handed you your laptop that was sitting on your desk. “Here, pick something out. I’ll order the pizza.” He pressed a kiss to the top of your head before he left the room. Scrolling a bit, you selected the show Bridgerton. You heard a lot of raving reviews from Jimin about it, it had to be good. “Pizza will be here in 30 minutes.” Yoongi said as he walked back into the room. He must’ve gone back for his discarded shirt in the living room because he was wearing it once again. “What are we watching?” He asked, sitting next to you.
“A show Jimin recommended,” you explained as you snuggled closer to him. He wrapped his arm around your shoulder as you did, rubbing soothing circles through your sleeve. Completely relaxed, you snuzzled your face into his chest. You settled into a comfortable silence as the show progressed on, introducing the characters. But you paid no mind to that, for all you could hear was the loving sound of Yoongi’s beating heart.

Note
"imperialism genocidal and racist rhetoric". It's not that deep. The devs just wanted a cool evil empire who hated dragons. being an edelgard fan or thinking she's right (which is stupid) doesn't mean a persons racist or whatever for having a different interpretation of Edelgard who's got both the shortest route and doesn't have her ideas fully fleshed out in any of them. She talks about tearing down the crest system. She and other characters talk about it, yet we never get told WHAT this crest system entails only that it exista.
In other routes Edelgard sucks. Yet in crimson flower she doesn't suck *as* much despite not having any actual developement outside of Byleth...standing nearby while she does shit? Like, she's barely a character in her own route. She *says* that because of Byleth she didn't become like the worst versions of herself.
Presumably, this means that crimson flower Edelgard is better morally than other route edelgards (which is technically true since unlike the others she's not dead and thus can *have* morals unlike a corpse.)
Do we see HOW Byleth made it so Edelgard supposedly didn't be as villainous as other routes' Edelgards? No. We talk to her a couple of times about her past and random shit, but thats it. We never have a moment where she's about to do something morally fucked and Byleth goes "hey we don't NEED to do this thing".
Hell, the closest thing to even having an option moral wise is choosing to do the Paralogue where you save TWSITD's researchers. But even then you can let them all get murdered and it changes nothing.
Sure, Edelgard does the morally bad thing of conquest. But depending on your views she's either justified or not justified in it. That's the whole reason we even have 'Edelstans' and 'edelcritics'.
They never fleshed Edelgard out, so any number of interpretations can be SORT OF correct. Sure, we get TOLD shit by others about things edelgard does. But we never actually get into her head. Why DOES she conquer fodlann knowing that she's doing exactly what TWSITD wants?
Why DOES she hate the Children of the Goddess? Is it purely because of her hatred of the crest system and the church of seiros? Is she genuinely racist about nonhumans and wants to kill them all? We get a few moments of her calling them monsters and inhuman, but for all we know she's purely against the ones who are part of the church and would be fine if there were other dragons. We can never be entirely sure, as she isn't able to interact with a dragon who ISN'T part of the church of Seiros.
The one chance she DOES have to interact with one who's mostly neutral doesn't happen because Linhardt decides to vaguely go "It has to do with the church and it'd be bothersome if she found out about it" which can mean any number of things.
It *can't* be because he knows she'll try to murder Indech, because he had no idea Indech was even there. He just knew a rad magic bow was there and didn't even want to go on the trip. You'd think if he knew a dragon was there he'd be excited to go. Besides, he goes "Fill edelgard in when the time is right", so clearly he either doesn't think she'll hunt down Indech, or he just doesn't give a shit.
Sorry if this became an incoherentrant. Basically TLDR: anything Edelgard related is always super vague or poorly fleshed out and thus people are able to have several different interpretations of her. The bad thing comes in that this was likely NOT intentional, and more so just a symptom of them rushing the game out and deciding on making an Edelgard route late into the game making process. So instead of her being a complex morally gray character as was maybe intended? She's just a villainous character who's motives are poorly explained outside of "I've been traumatized and need therapy" and who's plans and goals have holes in them such as her assassation plan that would end in her death (that she also never follows up on? Like, she never tries again. There's never any other attempts of genuine assassination.)
So. Yeah. Edelgard is smelly.
"imperialism genocidal and racist rhetoric". It's not that deep. The devs just wanted a cool evil empire who hated dragons. being an edelgard fan or thinking she's right (which is stupid) doesn't mean a persons racist or whatever for having a different interpretation of Edelgard who's got both the shortest route and doesn't have her ideas fully fleshed out in any of them.
well i’ve never said that being a fan of edelgard makes someone racist, imperialist, or genocidal. literally not once. and edelgard does have her ideals listed in her route.
She talks about tearing down the crest system. She and other characters talk about it, yet we never get told WHAT this crest system entails only that it exista.
she does say what she believes the crest system to be to lysithea. the foundation of the nobility system. she believes nobility wouldn’t exist without crests which isn’t true.
In other routes Edelgard sucks. Yet in crimson flower she doesn't suck *as* much despite not having any actual developement outside of Byleth...standing nearby while she does shit? Like, she's barely a character in her own route. She *says* that because of Byleth she didn't become like the worst versions of herself.
what about edelgard doesn’t suck as much on crimson flower? she does the exact same shit on her own route that she does on the others. the actions of white clouds don’t change. she still uses twsitd. she still invades sovereign nations. she still lies to her people. she still lies to her allies. she still casts the nabateans as the reason society is the way it is. she still destroys the church. she still causes the faithful to flee. just bc she blushes around byleth doesn’t absolve her of anything and suddenly makes her a better person.
Presumably, this means that crimson flower Edelgard is better morally than other route edelgards (which is technically true since unlike the others she's not dead and thus can *have* morals unlike a corpse.)
it’s not true. once again, nothing about her morals change. not a thing. being dead or alive is irrelevant since it’s her shitty actions that led to her death on non cf routes and also keep her alive on cf.
Do we see HOW Byleth made it so Edelgard supposedly didn't be as villainous as other routes' Edelgards? No. We talk to her a couple of times about her past and random shit, but thats it. We never have a moment where she's about to do something morally fucked and Byleth goes "hey we don't NEED to do this thing".
bc byleth doesn’t do shit. we don’t see it bc byleth is the equivalent of a bobble head on crimson flower. they don’t care about edelgard’s dubious actions. byleth doesn’t make edelgard a better person on cf bc byleth isn’t a great person either when they choose the invading force.
Hell, the closest thing to even having an option moral wise is choosing to do the Paralogue where you save TWSITD's researchers. But even then you can let them all get murdered and it changes nothing.
so deliberately choosing to side with an invader and destroy a church/orphanage/school isn’t a moral decision?
Sure, Edelgard does the morally bad thing of conquest. But depending on your views she's either justified or not justified in it. That's the whole reason we even have 'Edelstans' and 'edelcritics'.
i don’t care what others views are. conquest of independent and sovereign nations because you view them as inferior “mere offshoots” is despicable. there’s no way you can morally justify that without using worrying rhetoric.
They never fleshed Edelgard out, so any number of interpretations can be SORT OF correct. Sure, we get TOLD shit by others about things edelgard does. But we never actually get into her head.
god forbid i sound like an edelstan here but i disagree. i believe that edelgard is pretty fleshed out. we also never get into dimitri’s head. claude’s. rhea’s. any of the characters really. this isn’t a first person narrative. that’s why we have the characters talk about their motives… which edelgard does… a lot.
Why DOES she conquer fodlann knowing that she's doing exactly what TWSITD wants?
twsitd don’t care about uniting fodlan. it’s never brought up as a motivation for them. they care about ridding the world of the nabateans. the empire is a means to an end for that.
Why DOES she hate the Children of the Goddess? Is it purely because of her hatred of the crest system and the church of seiros? Is she genuinely racist about nonhumans and wants to kill them all?
she hates the children of the goddess because they, in her own words, are a plague on humanity that have been controlling the hearts of the people of fodlan by making them dependent on a goddess that doesn’t exist. thus making a world where the “goddess’ blessings” are the standard for nobility. to her, they’re not humans and lack humanity. the hide among humans in secret, manipulate them, and therefore they deserve no place among the people of fodlan.
“mostly neutral” he’s been in a lake for 1k years. he has nothing to do with the church of seiros at this point. linhardt isn’t vague about anything. he says exactly why they shouldn’t tell edelgard and hubert. it has to do with the church, an institution she hates due to the reasons i mentioned above. do you think he’s just leaving her out for shits and giggles?
It *can't* be because he knows she'll try to murder Indech, because he had no idea Indech was even there. He just knew a rad magic bow was there and didn't even want to go on the trip. You'd think if he knew a dragon was there he'd be excited to go. Besides, he goes "Fill edelgard in when the time is right", so clearly he either doesn't think she'll hunt down Indech, or he just doesn't give a shit.
if edelgard were alright with nabateans why can’t she spare seteth and flayn? why is rhea held captive on non cf routes to be handed over to the people who helped genocide her race? why is flayn kidnapped and the flame emperor involved? why does the game physically stop the player from taking her and hubert to indech? why does she rejoice at the fact that the nabateans have been defeated? why does she explicitly state that she wishes to “obliterate” them also byleth never tells edelgard anything in canon. they never have an option to tell her about indech.
Sorry if this became an incoherentrant. Basically TLDR: anything Edelgard related is always super vague or poorly fleshed out and thus people are able to have several different interpretations of her.
this isn’t about interpretations. this is about people seeing the color purple and saying it’s orange.
The bad thing comes in that this was likely NOT intentional, and more so just a symptom of them rushing the game out and deciding on making an Edelgard route late into the game making process. So instead of her being a complex morally gray character as was maybe intended?
she wasn’t intended to be a morally gray character. the devs have said that they made her the red emperor archetype and the empire are villains in the story.
She's just a villainous character who's motives are poorly explained outside of "I've been traumatized and need therapy"
she is villainous but her goals and motives are explained in the game.
conquest? well ionius leaves “fodlan” to her not adrestia. the empire still sees faerghus as traitors. the kingdom and alliance are “mere offshoots” that pale in comparison to the empire. the kingdom and church are “illegitimate” bc the church stole them in her view.
nabateans? just read the thing i wrote above eariler
crests? “blessing” from a false goddess used by the church to enslave humanity and hurt her family.
and who's plans and goals have holes in them such as her assassation plan that would end in her death (that she also never follows up on? Like, she never tries again. There's never any other attempts of genuine assassination.)
her assassination attempt does have merit to it. edelgard is strong. incredibly so. in byleth and ferdinand’s supports we learn that she is able to take down two demonic beasts by herself. she has the power of two crests. she’s arrogant and thinks that she can overcome anything. what’s a few bandits compared to her? all she has to do is outfight claude and dimitri (who have the disadvantage of being taken by surprise) and then cry crocodile tears when the knights show up and learn that she was the only survivor of an attack to “kill as many noble brats as possible”. she also doesn’t stop trying to kill dimitri and claude… they’re constantly put in danger in white clouds and dimitri is also framed for murder right after the time skip.

Is the Golden Guard a Homunculus?
Once more bringing up the idea of the Golden Guard having a connection to Eda, while also taking several cues from Belos and being trusted by him, being a teen prodigy with magic similar to Belos’…
I’m gonna go out on a crazy limb here, and suggest this; What if the Golden Guard is a Homunculus?
Alchemy is a common element in fantasy, of which The Owl House is an example of. With its use of magic, glyphs, and potions, I’d be surprised if alchemy didn’t exist in the Boiling Isles, or at the very least, if it didn’t have its own equivalent; Which, the entirety of Potions magic is probably this show’s take on alchemy!
A homunculus is an artificial human created by alchemy, although for the purposes of this theory, the Golden Guard is an artificial witch. The fandom has talked and half-joked, half-speculated on the idea of magic being used to bypass the issue of people of the same sex being unable to produce children; Some ideas have suggested same-sex witches being able to create a child by using pieces of themselves, combined with a magical ritual or two. That is of course pure speculation; However…
We already know Belos as someone who can create living things from magic; He’s manifested fleshy constructs, and even the Intro Worm at a whim! The Golden Guard himself can even conjure flesh from magic to transmute into a metal sword! So the idea of creating living things from magic is hardly out of the question in this show, and definitely not for Belos and the Golden Guard…
With how the Golden Guard seems to be set up as a dark parallel to Eda, a look into the kind of person she could’ve become had she joined the Emperor’s Coven as a kid; What if the Golden Guard is a Homunculus made from pieces of various witches, among them Eda herself? We’ve all considered Eda’s lost potential, and wondered just how powerful she could’ve been, had she never been cursed and given the opportunity to fully learn and explore as she’d wished; Eda herself has wondered about it, no less…
And Belos? He definitely seems like the type of mad scientist, low-key eugenicist who’d do this sort of thing, out of some morbid fascination, a desire to unlock true power, explore the full extent of magic; And in a way, weaponized Eda’s potential without having to deal with Eda herself, by having a Homunculus with her DNA that’s totally loyal to Belos!
Given how the Golden Guard obviously isn’t a clone of Eda –what glimpses of his face we’ve seen, plus his gender indicate otherwise- then it’s possible that Belos has taken DNA samples from multiple subjects, the strongest witches throughout history (such as the Coven Heads and even Kikimora), with the goal of creating the most powerful witch by combining DNA from all of them! Hence, the Golden Guard as a fledgling experiment, who already proves to be rather promising, with the help of Belos’ tutelage since the very beginning.
With this show’s dives into body horror, and the ability of Belos to conjure living things to serve him, I wouldn’t be shocked. I could totally see Belos experimenting with his magic, moving on from making animals like the Intro Worm, to a full-blown Witch! For all we know, he may have even put in a bit of his DNA as well…
Of course, whether or not this sample was from before, or after he became so physically messed-up, I can’t say. With the connections to both Eda and Belos, the Golden Guard being a homunculus brewed in a lab would be a way to explain those potential ties, without having to resort to a VERY gross age-gap fling that isn’t in-character for either party.
Alternatively, the DNA sample came from Gwendolyn, who IS a member of the Beastkeeping Coven, and did give birth to Eda herself! As for the potential issues of a sample coming from Eda, who is cursed, well…
           There is that one shot from the trailer showing an owl beast with a face similar to the Golden Guard’s mask;
Tumblr media
Could this be him? Did taking a piece of Eda, perhaps a strand of hair or something, result in the Golden Guard inheriting her curse? It’s also possible that the Golden Guard isn’t cursed, because Belos is able to cure such things, and unlike Eda, the Golden Guard would be loyal to him and have thus ‘earned’ that, especially since Belos wants to explore his creation’s potential. Alternatively, Belos got the Eda sample from before she was cursed; Possibly by visiting Gwen and asking if she had anything, such as a baby tooth, from Eda prior to the curse.
Likewise, if the Golden Guard DOES contain a bit of Belos, this sample could’ve come from before Belos became so messed up… And/or, due to being young and less experimented upon, with DNA from other witches, the Golden Guard manages to still be healthy despite the presence of Belos inside of him! It is worth nothing that the Golden Guard wields magic similar to Belos, so for all we know, this fragment of the emperor is what allows him to do that, having been distorted in the same way.
That, or Belos trusts the Golden Guard, enough to keep him privy on a bunch of secrets that the emperor normally reserved for a ‘chosen one’ such as himself; Only those selected by the Titan are worthy of this form of magic, and because Belos himself is decayed, the Golden Guard is the only viable candidate left to truly explore the full potential of this magic. Also, being a construct made of Belos’ unique magic, with his own bile sac and everything; That could explain why the Golden Guard is able to wield that same magic, because he’s made of it!
And being made from Belos, who isn’t too physically well-off, that could be why the Golden Guard is established as tired in our first glimpse of his personality… That, and/or he’s exhausted because he’s a teen prodigy who has to do the work of an adult, and not just any adult but the right-hand man to Belos! Maybe the Golden Guard was created as a means for Belos to create a new physical body for himself, before he repurposed his homunculus as an apprentice of sorts, while possibly still keeping him as back-up host.
Perhaps the Golden Guard was Belos’ attempt at creating witch super soldiers, of creating generations of witches by his own hand, who would be totally loyal to him; Thus keeping Belos from having to rely on families for children he doesn’t trust… And potentially freeing Belos to get rid of ALL other witches, because now he can make his own loyal ones from scratch! Belos would be the kind of person who’d want to make an army, while killing whatever he can’t control, hence the hunt for the Selkidomus.
Plus, being made for the sole purpose of surpassing all other witches, even Belos- It could definitely add a lot more to the Golden Guard’s arrogance, but also a huge amount of pressure as well. And it’d make him feel indebted to Belos, for giving him life, for granting him such great talent and ability from the get-go, for basically writing his destiny out for him, a fate of grandeur and glory.
As a lab creation controlled and indoctrinated since birth, influenced before birth even, with Belos’ influence ingrained into his very body- It could add to why Belos seems to trust the Golden Guard on matters even Kikimora isn’t privy about! Creating a whole kid to raise into an adult, an entire life for a single purpose, and making sure that life KNOWS that purpose and fully devotes their existence to it, because it’s literally why they exist to begin with- Not exactly something I’d put past Belos!
Plus, for Eda; The Golden Guard could act as a disturbing mirror for her. Not just in the kind of person she could’ve been, but as a harsh reminder of the magical potential and power she could’ve had, had she never been cursed; And again of the magic she completely lost, when the curse reached its worst limits. It’d be a way to haunt Eda at a point when she’s lost her magic, by dangling what could’ve and should’ve been; It’s like a ghost and a specter for those who have mourned or wondered Eda’s lost potential.
