What law did they break???? It sounds like it's a big one
The Law of Mobcap- or the maximum amount of life that can be sustained by the realm in a certain area. They somehow found a way to create something out of nothing (conservation of code who????) and in killing one lesser-mortal (Pillagers, I believe they’re considered?) harvested far too much mana. I’m so tired. Whenever Outworlder 006 runs it the rest of the realm, in order to supply the mana, slows down. I mean the SUN moves SLOWER across the sky and GRAVITY INCREASES. And then the other outworlders complain about this phenomenon (dubbed “lag”)????? And tell us to just??? Create more mana?????????????
Anyway I rewrote the mobcap in that specific machine’s area to be lower, so less mana was allotted to it. I basically put it in a bubble so no osmosis would bring more mana there.
thanks for the interest. At least your realm seems to understand how infuriating this is
#transcribed by keeper 5002#and then. and then.#TWO CYCLES LATER. OUTWORLDERS 013 DESTROYS THE MACHINE.#SO I HAVE TO INVERSE ALL OF MY CALCULATIONS AND SET THE AREA BACK TO NORMAL#AND???? NO TALK OF A PROMOTION#I SHOULD BE A FUCKING HIGH KEEPER FOR TS#Tbf I’d deny them. Hate those guys#But STILL. A little appreciation would be nice#//#the realm sneegsnag#the realm smp#trsmp#keepers of the realm

The drastic separation between social positions of transfems and transmascs is a theoretical invention of writers who spoke to very few transmascs and tried to fill the gap by assumptions that stem from the "opposite gender" crap.
"Transmasculine transition is respected in the society because cis people see becoming a man as stepping up" is one of the most hilarious and sad examples of that, but there's also "coming out as a trans man leads to less sexual objectification" and "trans men are simultaneously respected more because they're men and protected more because they're afab".
None of it is real. This is just a calculated inverse of what transfems go through. We should abandon this framework for the sake of something that's actually rooted in reality.

Understanding the Inverse Square Law
(Without Math)
When I was first getting deep into photography, I kept running into lessons about the inverse square law. They would always tell you the effects and the math but they never explained the cause. Why does the light do this?
It's like when the doctor gives you a pill to fix something. You swallow it, wait a bit, and eventually you feel better. But you rarely know what the pill is actually doing.
So when it comes to lighting, you have to decide if you want to be the doctor who understands the why or the patient who just swallows the pill and gets the desired effect.
Every tutorial will say if you double the distance of a light from a subject, the intensity will drop by 1/4. They will give you a formula so you can do exposure calculations.

Sometimes they will refer to somewhat helpful diagrams with clues on what is happening.

But most just teach the easy version.
If you move the light closer, you will get quicker falloff into shadow and the background will be darker.
If you move it farther back, everything will be more evenly lit, but the background will be lighter.
The teacher will shoot some examples and show you something like this.

By the end of this post, I want everyone who reads it to *truly* understand what is happening.
Because if you understand it on that level, it will change how you think about light and photography. It will have the added bonus of explaining magnets and WiFi and even the sound coming out of your speakers.
If I am an effective teacher, this is something you will think about in your everyday life, even if you don't care about photography.
In a previous post, I talked about how light was a bit like a shotgun blast. The closer you are, the more concentrated the pellets. If you are farther away, the shot disperses.
But this wasn't the analogy I wanted to use. It was just the easiest to find visual examples of.
My preferred analogy was spray paint. And I'm hoping with some janky home-made visuals, I can do a better job of explaining the concept.
Let's start by explaining the humble photon. It's the fundamental particle (or wave) of light. Think of them like individual tiny globs of paint in a spray can. A photon is emitted when something loses energy. And unmodified light sources typically shoot out photon globs in all directions.

A point light source is a theoretical concept where a single point in space shoots light evenly in every direction. For our purposes we're just going to imagine a basic light bulb as the point source.
But our eyes and cameras have a limited field of view, so from here on out we are going to think of the light emitting from the bulb as having a cone shape. We are just concerned with what a camera can actually see.

Well, well, well... what does that cone of light look like?

I'm sure we have all used spray paint before. So let's imagine we are spraying a white ball against a gray wall. We spray for 1 second and hold the can at different distances.

In each scenario we are spraying for the same length of time and the exact same number of photon paint globs are emitted from the nozzle.
Let's think about what each scenario would look like from the camera's point of view.
Here is our unpainted ball and wall.

Here is the spray can held at Distance 1.

Note how the red paint is very concentrated and appears bold and saturated.
Distance 2.

Now the same amount of paint is dispersed over a wider area. The bold red spot in the center is more muted. And some of the paint is spilling onto the background.
Distance 3.

Everything appears to have a light red tint. The background and the white ball appear to have similar intensities of red. The coverage is very even. The same number of photon paint globs are being asked to cover a larger area so they are spreading out and diluting the color.
Okay, now let's exchange tiny photon paint globs for real photons.
I'm bringing back my baseball and showing these same 3 distances.

The nice thing about eyeballs and cameras... they can compensate for different light intensities. Our eyes have night vision and cameras have long shutter speeds, large lens apertures, and ISO amplification.
And if we compensate for the dimming caused by the dispersed light...

Photography teachers will tell you that if you move the light farther away, the background will get brighter. In reality, everything is the same level of dim and the camera exposure is brightened.
What if we wanted to spray the same area from far away without losing as much of the red saturation? We could add a super nozzle to our spray can that emits a bunch more photon globs in the same span of time.

This would be like turning up the power of the light. You have to emit a bunch more photons in that same time scale to compensate. Then you don't have to adjust your camera settings when you move the light farther away.
Let's look at a practical example of when you might think about the inverse square law to help solve a problem.
You have two subjects in a scene, and you put the light just out of view of the camera. You might be thinking that a larger light source is softer, so you want it as close as possible.

Unfortunately only one person is lit in the scene. She is getting the concentrated photons before they can disperse.
So if we want both people to have similar lighting, we can move the light farther away. You will have to comprimise a little softness. And you will have to change your camera settings or increase the power of the light.

Note that the intensity of light in the area they are standing in is very similar now.
By using a large light modifier, the photographer was able to move the light back and keep its general softness, but also evenly light both subjects.
And now I need to talk about one aspect of my spray paint analogy that does not work with the inverse square law. And it has to do with the specular highlight on the baseball.

Spray paint does not reflect paint. It just sticks to things. And reflection throws a tiny wrench into my explanation. Because parallel light rays do not obey the inverse square law. When you light something, the most central photons from the subject's perspective are going to be traveling in parallel. They have a direct path from the light to the camera lens or your eyeball.

Now if the reflection material is perfectly matte, the light will disperse and act as the inverse square law suggests. But if the surface is even a little glossy, the most concentrated parallel rays are going to bounce directly into your eye as a bright white spot.

And if you study this diagram a little closer, you might figure out why specular highlights are usually white.
If you look at the specular highlight on the baseball, even though the rest of the image gets dimmer as the light gets farther away, that spot stays bright.

Though the spot seems to disappear at Distance 1. Curious, eh?
It's still there. It's still reflecting directly into your eyeball. But the light around it is so concentrated and bright, the specular highlight blends in.
Which means if you have some nasty highlights on your photo subject, moving your light closer might make them go away. If someone has a shiny forehead, this can equalize the overall exposure and hide the shiny.
This guy has a bright spot on his nose. It is there in both photos.

But his face is so much brighter in the left photo that the spot blends in. It's a bit of a mind bender because the camera exposure is adjusted so the finished photos appear the same amount of bright.
You have to remember if you only move the light farther away and don't increase its power or increase the camera's exposure level, the photos would look more like this.

So if you make the rest of the face as bright as the highlight, it blends in.
Neat!
So, was I successful?
Does the inverse square law make more sense?
This is why WiFi gets weaker at a distance. This is why magnets lose their attraction when you pull them apart. This is why speakers get quieter when you move away from them.
I can't tell you how much knowing the why has affected my thinking about lighting. I see so many video and photo people talking about lighting setups who are just following memorized placements.
"Put a light above the subject at a 45 degree angle to get Rembrandt lighting."
But the second they encounter light doing something unexpected, things fall apart. They resort to trial and error and brute force the solution.
Knowing how the pill works can prevent that frustrating process.
I no longer care about the math. I can just visualize the cone of influence and predict what will happen. Understanding the behavior of light and not just the end effects has made everything more intuitive. I just wish it hadn't taken me so long to understand this. But, hopefully, this post has shortened that journey for you.

i can’t get over nacho and jesse as inverses of each other. jesse is the chihuahua who barks and growls at everyone but so desperately craves affection. nacho is the pit bull that stoically takes beatings for years until it finally snaps. jesse’s “i’ll bitch and complain the whole time but please please please tell me what to do” vs nacho’s “i’ll do whatever you say without question but i’m fantasizing about killing you with knives the whole time.” call jesse a good boy and he will melt call nacho a good boy and he will fucking bite you. angry bravado that hides prey animal fear vs cool and calculated mask that hides the hottest burning rage.

Can we have the inverse scene? Like how female J works with a man
Here you go! Same trigger warnings.
“Put it on and tell me your name,” Jain says, holding the outfit out to Max. He sits on the edge of her mattress in a man-spread position.
“Jain, get that out of my face,” Max snaps, swatting the clothes aside. “I’m done with this psycho bullshit. I’m not pretending to be some other guy you want to fuck.” He hauls himself up and begins jamming his feet into his sneakers that rest next to the bed. Every time she forces him into her antics, he leaves feeling emasculated. He can't bring himself to do this anymore.
Max moves toward the door. Just before he can reach it, Jain lunges forward to block him, nearly tripping him with the sudden movement. “You’re not going anywhere,” she says, her voice hardening. “Walk back to that bed, put these clothes on, and do exactly as I say.”
Max tries not to laugh at the demand. As if she could stop him. “Move, Jain, before I move you,” he warns, attempting to keep his expression stern. He genuinely means it. If she won’t step aside, he’ll pick her up and carry her out of his way.
She holds her ground. With a quick motion, Max grips her by both arms and shoves her aside easily.
“When you’re ready to be with me as I am, then—” Max’s words cut off when he turns in her direction and sees the gun aimed at him. He freezes, staring at the barrel pointed straight at his chest. Carefully, he raises his hands and takes a step back toward the doorway. “J-Jain, please. It doesn’t have to go this far. Just lower the gun. Put it down.”
Jain tilts her head, manic delight spreading across her face. Without warning, she hammers the butt of the gun into her own nose, blood begins to gush out of her nostrils as her face twists in pain. A crimson line appears across the bridge of her nose, and her skin ripples from pale to an angry purple. She smashes the gun into her face again and again.
“Jain, stop!” Max shouts, rushing forward to yank the weapon away. He can’t understand why she’s hurting herself. How does he always wind up entangled with women like this?
“Max, stop it. Please stop hurting me. Why would you do this?!” Jain’s voice wavers between laughter and sobs. Bloody spittle flies from her mouth as she rakes her fingers down her bare chest, digging into her skin until crimson scratches appear across her collarbone.
“What? I’m not hurting you,” Max stammers, pressing his hands against her arms to keep her from tearing herself apart. He glances toward the door again, calculating his chances.
Jain’s laughter only gets louder. “Assault with a deadly weapon against a federal agent. That’s about twenty years.” She pushes her fingers into her shirt, tearing the fabric against her skin. “Attempted sexual assault tacks on a few more.” She pauses, panting. “Shall I keep going?”
“You’re crazy. I didn’t do any of that,” Max says, his voice trembling as he struggles to steady her arms.
Jain steps back, her eyes sparkling with malicious triumph. “Yes, but who will believe you? One word from me is all it takes. They won’t investigate. Especially, not with your record. You and I both know how this ends. Now, do as I ask. Put on the outfit,” she says, holding it back out to him.
Defeated, Max lowers his gaze. He extends a trembling hand and takes the clothes from her. “Fine. I’ll put it on.”

i am eeping so hard after this but
VEE. VEE MAINS WE WON HARD TODAY
spoiler ahead i am absolutely breaking vee down today boys
1-PERSONALITY?!????
Ok. Other than that godforsaken run lol. Vee was genuinely done so right in this update imo man.
I know i generally make vee off to be goofy and alot of ppl can relate to that, but in canon shes still this charismatic blunt and straightforward host right
Oh my god did we get that today im tweaking
Ok. Her twisted and toon versions opposing eachother is so vital to me today let me break this down madman style
We got to see toon vee be an absolute smug entitiy today guys.
The type who carries herself with this air of superiority, this smug knowingness (woman is extracting with one hand that is an absolute flex)
Like she doesn't just think shes better. she knows she is. And shes letting everyone know in these new animations (shes literally looking down at toons now. My smug lil baby)
Theres so much damn showmanship in these animations. Shes so thriving on being the one who gets things done and making sure everyone sees it.
Thats why i think twisted vees animation make this a whole tragedy lol
Shes got this new kinda desperation as a twisted now. With the "look at me" screen and tears and all
Classic tragic inversion of her original self, where once she used to dismiss others in past interactions and such. But now begs for attention.
This gal went from being in total control to losing herself all in one update.
No wonder her twisteds crying man. This is all just failure of control- collapse of everything she built herself up to be.
2- MOVEMENTS??????
Thats just personality man.
The new vee animations tho oh boy.
Vees toon movements are so calculated and efficient now man.
She knows what shes doing. upright posture, single handed extraction, confidence in her steps- this gal moves with purpose dawg
Twisted vee is the exact opposite again. Her movements are so erratic now, she literally twitches in place. her postures wrong, her steps are erratic too, and she jerks alot in her runs now. Theres nothing calculated or efficient abt her anymore
3- AND FINALLY. NO ONE TALKED ABT THIS BEFORE BUT I LOVE PUTTING TWISTEDS DEATH AS SYMBOLISM AND VEE JUST ROCKED IT MAN.
Twisted vees ripped apart at the waist dawg. This to me is 2 things.
1- so. The waist is the centre of balance- literally. Its the core of our movements- it keeps a body grounded.
Her waist being ripped apart is to me symbolic of the loss of stability of her entire identity. Going from rising star to twisted freak shows gotta sting. (Both literally and metaphorically disconnected from what she used to be)
Plus- this next one applies to many twisteds but vees look at me screen sent me man
2- The unnatural survival. Even if its ichor shenanigans at hand, shes ripped in half, and still moving. Living. This aint right. It ain't natural. Its Like she refuses to die.
Again- reminiscent of her stubborn desperation. The character who shouldn't exist, but refuses to let herself dissapear.
@shellevisionfan @cupcakewebkinz save me ive gone coocoo

The Heart Killers' Colors? - Ep. 4
Before I begin my investigation into the fourth episode's colors, in case it was not clear, I find Joong very attractive, and when Fadel was looking through Kant's pockets a little aggressively and very homoerotically, I was rooting for First to add another boy's lips to his roster.
BREAK UP THE SHIPS CHALLENGE 2025!
Since I'm afraid that I'm two seconds away from abandoning my efforts to uncover colors in this show so I can turn this into a Joong appreciation blog, let me focus on what I actually came here to do — appreciate Joong Fadel for always being a Black Brooder.
And thankfully Red Rascal Bison is wearing red and blue shorts, but I don't know who the blue could possibly be for since Kant and Style refuse to show their true color!
But back to Fadel being a Black Brooder who just happens to be played by the very attractive Joong.
Fadel is my rock in this show. He never wavers in his color. When all these other boys do wonky stuff like wear red, so I can't figure out their color, Fadel always stays brooding in black.
So I'm holding onto the knowledge that Fadel IS a Black Brooder while I stare in confusion at Style wear red and Kant wear black again this episode which is an inverse of their love interest! And Bison wore blue, but I've previously guessed this is him hiding his true color after attempting to go full BDSM on Kant the night before.
Yet, as usual with Kant, he has a little red on his back. He has had red writing on his shirts before, so is he really in love with Bison already? I think so.
Because as much as I'm upset at Kant for hiding his color, Bison IS a Red Rascal, so Kant having red writing on his shirt multiple times now gives me hope that he is realizing he loves this little demon more than he thought he would especially after Bison noticed what was happening with his brother (and saved the kids from sexual grooming, which is what Bison believes he does for Mother).
So I'll cut him some slack for not showing his true color yet, and I'll keep assuming it is blue since his background is blue while Kant's is red.
But it seems like Kant has a type, and that type is hell raiser.
So even though Bison gave Kant a heart, he didn't get Bison's heart since it wasn't placed over Kant's heart and it's not in Bison's color.
Because Bison would just as quickly kill Kant as he would kiss him, and both of them ending the episode clearly on their own side matching the wall they stood in front of shows that Kant has his work cut out for him.
But considering the boys are wearing couple's shirts with their initials on them next week, I think Kant has some tricks up his tattooed sleeve.
Like sending his best buddie to keep Fadel busy by having sex with him, so he can try looking for more clues, and since Fadel and Style also have incorrectly color-coded couple's shirts with their initials on them, I'm going to assume it's not going to go well.
Because Kant and Style still don't know the guys they are falling in love with if they can't even wear the right color for them. Bison is a Red Rascal and Fadel is a Black Brooder! Two halves of one heart! Get it together, besties!
And now that they think the guy they have been sent to kill had something to do with the deaths of their parents, their emotions are going to be an overdrive.
Especially Bison, who seems to have picked up Mother's color on his journey to become a killer, since he was neutral as a kid.
Yet Fadel, my rock in the color storm, has always been a Black Brooder.
And unlike Bison, who has spontaneous outbursts that could end everyone, Fadel is much more calculated.
So for Style who, according to the folks behind the show, should be a (light) Blue Boy, to be strategic in his plan to annoy Fadel just so he could make Fadel miss him was brilliant.
I want to believe that Fadel is playing Style, but I thought in episode two the reason Fadel hated Style so much was because Style messed up his very calculated plans, which is exactly what he expressed in this episode; therefore, I think this entire conversation was Fadel being honest.

Pretty boy Icarus done flown too close to the sun and got himself a killer boyfriend.
And, once again, I think Fadel's feelings for Style are real because Fadel laughs and smiles a lot around Style.
And my pretty emo boy doesn't smile for anybody!
So these two idiots better get their plan and colors together, quick!
Because Bison stays red . . . dee to commit murder
And Fadel is already too deep (in the blue) to even realize how much he actually likes his (light) Blue Boy.
So even though Style is now trying to be cautious in his yellow and back off, Fadel is coming in hot.
But I'm unsure if it's because he is passionate about Style now that all his warmth has been unlocked or if he will burn Icarus for getting too close.
Or, more importantly, when it comes to Fadel, if there is even a difference between those two things.
#the heart killers#the colors mean things#color coded boys in love#episode four#I need more people to be afraid of Bison#he will end everyone without hesitation and just cause#Fadel at least takes time to think about things#but Bison?#he is crazy#Kant done messed up!#and Style is about to get all my Black Brooder has suppressed for far too long#I love it here#I'm getting Joong weekly#and he is looking fine as usual#plus I'm getting colors and boys being gay and doing crime

Can you do one about the Sea of Thieves water?
OK
so . there was a biiig long talk about this at siggraph one year!! you can watch that here if you'd like . in the time between me getting this ask and me fully recreating the water, acerola also released a great video about it . the biiig underlying thing they do and the reason why it looks so good is they are making a Really Detailed Ocean Mesh in realtime using something called an FFT (fast fourier transform) to simulate hundreds of thousands of waves, based on a paper by TESSENDORF
WHAT IS AN FFT - we'll get to that. first we have to talk about the DFT - the discreet fourier transform. let's say you have a SOUND. it is a c chord - a C, an E, and a G, being played at the same time. all sounds are waves!!! so when you play multiple sounds at the same time, those waves combine!!! like here: the top is all 3 notes playing together, so they form the waveform at the bottom!!
now if someone handed you the bottom wave, could you figure out each individual note that was being played? how about if someone handed you a wave of One Hundred Notes. you would think it would be very hard. and well, it would be, if not for the Discreet Fourier Transform.
essentially, there is a way to take a bunch of points on a waveform comprised of a bunch of different waves, add them all together, do some messed up stuff with imaginary numbers, that will spit back out at you what individual waves are present. i made a little test program at the start of all this: the left are the waves i am putting into my Big Waveform, the top right is what that ends up looking like, and all the little rainbow points on it are being sampled to spit out the graph at the bottom right: it shows which frequency bands the DFT is finding (here it is animated)
this has enormous use cases in anything that deals with audio and image processing, and also,
THE OCEAN
tessendorf is basically like, hey, People Who Are Good At The Ocean say that a buuuunch of sine waves do a pretty good job of approximating what it looks like. and by a bunch they mean like, hundreds of thousands to millions. oh no.... if only there was a way we could easily deal with millions of sine waves..........
well GREAT news. not only can you do the DFT in one direction, but you can also do it in REVERSE. if you were to be given the frequency graph of a noise for example, you could use an INVERSE DFT to calculate what the combined wave graph looks like at any given time. so if you were to have say, the frequency graph of an oceaaaan, for example, you could calculate what the Ocean wave looks like at any given time. and lucky for us, it works in two dimensions. and thats the foundation of the simulation !!!!!
BUT WAIT
as incredible as the DFT is, it doesn't scale very well. the more times you have to do it, the slower it gets, exponentially, and we are working with potentially millions of sine waves here
THE FAST FOURIER TRANSFORM here we are . the fast fourier transform is a way of doing the discreet fourier transform, except, well, fast. i am Not going to explain the intricacies of it because its very complex, but if you want to learn more there are a ton of good 30 minute long videos on youtube about it . but essentially, due to the nature of sine waves repeating, you can borrow values as you go, and make the calculation Much faster (from exponential growth to logarithmic growth which is much much slower, and scales very well at higher numbers). it's, complicated, but the important part is it's so much faster and the diagram kind of looks like the shadow the hedgehog story plot
so if we use the inverse FFT on a graph of a rough estimate of what frequency of waves in the ocean (called a spectrum, basically tells us things like how many small waves, how many big waves, how different waves follow the wind direction. sea of thieves uses one called the phillips spectrum but there are better ones out there!!) now we have our waves !!!!!!! we can also use another inverse FFT to get the normals of the waves, and horizontal displacement of the waves (sharpening peaks and broadening valleys) through some derivatives . yayy calculus
OK MATH IS OVER. WE HAVE OUR WAVES!!! they are solid pink and look like pepto bismol. WHAT NOW
i cheated a bit here they look better than not being shaded because i am using the normals to reflect a CUBEMAP to make it look shiny. i think sea of thieves does this too but they didnt mention it in their talk. they did mention a FEW THINGS THEY DID THOUGH
FIRST OFF - SUBSURFACE SCATTERING. this is where the sun pokes through since water is translucent. SSS IS REALLY EXPENSIVE !!!!!! so they just faked it. do you remember the wave sharpening displacement i mentioned earlier? they just take the value where the waves are being sharpened and this will pretty naturally show off the areas that should have subsurface scattering (the sides of waves). they make it shine through any time you are looking towards the sun. they also add a bit of specular ! sss here is that nice blue color, and specular is the shiny bits coming off the sun. the rest of the lighting is the cubemap i mentioned earlier, i dont know if thats what they use but it looks nice !!!!!
then the other big thing that they do is the FOAM !! sorry i lied. there's more math. last one. you remember the wave sharpening displacement i Just mentioned. well they used that to find something called the JACOBIAN and well im not even going to begin to try and explain what it means but functionally what it does, is when the jacobian is NEGATIVE it means waves are clipping into eachother. and that means we should draw some foam!!! we can also blur and fade out the foam texture over time and continuously write to it to give it some movement, and bias this value a bit to make more or less foam. they do both of these!!!
YAYYYYY !! OK !! THAT'S SEA OF THIEVES WATER!!!!! THANKS FOR WAITING ALL THIS TIME. you can see my journey here if you would like to i have tagged it all oceanquest2023
thank you everyone for joining me :) i had fun

Last iterator I made for no reason after months of art block
They're color palette is a direct inversion of Of Infinitesimal Matter. I love it when color theory works so well it can go both ways. Anyway, this iterator is meant to directly contrast Of Infinitesimal Matter. They have a "atom" motif, but they're name is b i g (The World Immeasurable).
Again, no idea where I'm going with this. I like the idea that despite their looks, they're actually quite cold and calculating. That's about it.

[learn your gacha: reference, explanation, interpretation- #2]
Dr. Ratio: Splash Art And Newton's Law
Mathematics are a core part of Dr. Ratio's character ! Especially his promotional elements. But what are those complicated numbers ? Because, yes, they actually mean something !
Let's dive together into the signification of one of Dr. Ratio's splash art equation !
NEWTON'S LAWS
On the top right of Dr. Ratio splash art, we can read: F= dP/dt.
This is a form of Newton's Second Law of motion.
What is it ?
Newton's Laws of motion are three physical laws about the relation of the motion of an object and the force acting on it. They originates from the Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (1687), which also contains Isaac Newton's law of universal gravitation. This book written in Latin was one of the most important work published in the history of science.
The Second Law of motion applies when forces are unbalanced, causing the object to be in motion.
The Second Law then is thus: the change of momentum is proportional to the force acting upon it.
Mathematical explanation:
Momentum depends on the matter, the speed and the direction of the object, which influences its value with time. This phenomenon in math is also called [time] derivative and can be applied to any variable.
In modern form, momentum is calculated like this: P= mv
Or: momentum = mass x velocity
Generally, mass doesn't change with time but velocity does (acceleration); thus force is calculated like this: F= m dv/dt
Or: force= mass x time derivative of velocity
[dv/dt > which is the acceleration]
So: F= ma
( ma stands for mass x acceleration )
In modern form, the Second Laws says that the time derivative of momentum is the force.
So: F = dP/dt
Note: it can also lead to incorrect results when variable mass is added to the equation ( time derivative of mass ). The variables must be included in the equation if mass changes with time.
So: F= dP/dt
And: P= mv
Thus: F= d (mv)/dt
So: F= dP/dt = ma OR F= ma
So; F is the net force. Then: acceleration is proportional to the net force and inversely to the mass of the object.
F= ma so a= F/m and m= F/a
With physic quantity, it is thus: N = kg x m/s²
Or: 1 Newton [net force] equals 1 kilograms [kg] multiplied by 1 metters per second squared [m/s²]
Ex: 1N = 1kg x 1 m/s²
Demonstration:
1)
Aventurine rolled his fucking 2 kg dice at an acceleration of 5 m/s², what is the net force aventurine applied to the dice?
F= 2x5 so....
Yes ! 10N ! He fucking won millions !
2)
Boothill throws goddamn bullets with a fudging net force of 12N at an acceleration of 10 m/s², what's the freaking mass of his bullet ?
m= 12/10 so.....
Boothill throws 1.2 kg bullets, wow ! Deadly !
3)
Sampo kicked a 6 kg bomb into the crowd of Belobog, his net force was 12N ! What was the acceleration ?
a= 12/6 so.....
Lame ! Only 2 m/s² !
Conclusion:
In other words, Newton's Second Law says:
" the lower the mass the greater the acceleration, and contrarily, the greater the mass the lower the acceleration. "
Which is why F1 cars have such low mass, so they can have more acceleration speed !

Wow! I really struggled with that one because math isn't my forte at all. But I did my best to inform myself, understand it and then explaining it in a simpler and more entertaining way I hope.
For those wondering, learn your gacha is a concept I came up with where I explain, teach and interpret references in Honkai: Star Rail. I'm in no way an expert in all the subjects I talk about, but I do my best to thoroughly learn about it as accurately as I can !
I hope you enjoyed it and see you for the next one !

Five sentence fic: Margo x Sergei
Work, the Problem
Legal pads of equations on her desk, a slide rule next to a calculator, yet the piano was what beckoned.
Music followed rules but also broke them, notes quiet until they were soaring, jazz allowing for improvisation within a form, her hands almost caressing the black and white ivory keys that wouldn’t be hers for much longer.
If only she was the kind of person who could be satisfied with a small life, with wherever the Witness Protection Program would send Sergei and his family to achieve the banality necessary for anonymity.
Instead, she was the Director of NASA, soon to be a defector to the Soviet Union and the safety from the FBI offered by a Roscosmos that would let her continue to do her work.
And she was deeply, deeply in love with a man whose equation was the inverse of her own, his journey to the United States a quiet note of victory while her impending escape to the Soviet Union was a new variation on the ever-dissonant chord of her life: the quest to achieve a job well done.

I think it's really funny how people go to the lying machine for answers to technical problems, especially ones involving math or producing equations
For alloy density that wouldn't have been an option, since during several days of research the most i was able to find was a comment on how the density of the composition would be the inversed sum of the inverses (read: same calculation method for parallel circuit resistance)
I did my math between a notebook, my calculator from college, and a site that lists pretty much every property of a given element you would want
There's datasheets for steel, copper, and aluminum compositions, yeah, but i was putting together metals that are primarily used by weight not volume. I wanted to know so i could have a good idea of how much metal i needed for given dimensions
There's multiple things that make me write this post, someone posting a thing with the beginnings of sentences of people using the lying machine followed by a gif of people screaming
And a recent video i watched with @official-megumin where the lying machine was used for something as simple as thermal expansion. Especially in steel (which eas what was being used) it's very easy to just find the expansion coefficient WHICH IS GIVEN AS A STANDARD FOR PRETTY MUCH ALL INDUSTRIAL MATERIALS and plonk it in to a well documented equation
For a more recent endeavor there's luckily been people who have made programs to take numerical inputs for dimensions and give a template. Unfortunately for me it wasn't something i could reliably utilize so i have spent 20+ pages in my notebook figuring out the dimensions

DARVO
DARVO is an acronym that stands for Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. It describes a manipulative tactic often used by abusers to avoid taking responsibility for their actions and shift the blame onto their victims.
Deny. By engaging in a calculated act of denial, the perpetrator refuses to acknowledge their actions or the consequences thereof. They may adamantly negate any responsibility for their behavior, often employing tactics of minimization or outright dismissal. By denying the validity of the victim’s claims or the impact of their actions, the perpetrator effectively undermines the victim’s experiences and gaslights them into questioning their own reality.
Attack. Following the denial stage, the perpetrator will attempt to assault the victim’s character and credibility. This attack can take various forms—from subtle undermining remarks to overt accusations and blame-shifting. By casting doubt on the victim’s integrity, motivations or mental state, the perpetrator seeks to discredit their claims and deflect attention away from their own misconduct. Through targeted attacks, the perpetrator further erodes the victim’s confidence and reinforces their sense of powerlessness.
Reverse Victim and Offender. In the final stage, the perpetrator skillfully manipulates the narrative to cast themselves as the victim and the actual victim as the offender. This tactic involves a strategic inversion of roles, where the perpetrator portrays themselves as unfairly treated or harmed, while painting the victim as the instigator or aggressor. Through this inversion of reality, the perpetrator not only absolves themselves of guilt but also further victimizes their target, leaving them feeling isolated and discredited.

Tobi x Reader x Deidara Three-Man Squad Headcanons
Tags/Warnings: No Reader Pronouns, Tobi is Scary
𓆃 Haha... it's stupid.
𓆃 It's a three-man squad dynamic where Deidara has somehow taken over as the brains of the operation. Assuming you've stuck around to be a part of the Deidara and Sasori dynamic, it's quite the 180 to see Deidara transition from someone who hardly had to think to someone mapping out strategies.
𓆃 Because with Sasori, Deidara was primarily occupied with showing off. He got his jobs done just fine, but never put too much effort in planning.
𓆃 But when Tobi came along, it was almost as if Deidara stepped up out of spite.
𓆃 You supposed that perhaps it was the same with Sasori all along— that Deidara played up being more carefree to get on ever-organized and calculating Sasori's nerves.
𓆃 He seemed to be happier when he was more carefree, and now Tobi has made him into a monster, which makes for a hot and cold dynamic.
𓆃 Because Tobi is almost always high-energy and cracking jokes (which used to be Deidara's thing), and the energy level of Tobi is inversely proportional to Deidara's snippiness on any given day.
𓆃 Deidara, with a temper shorter than a teaspoon, is prone to violent outbursts on any given day. Whether it's sudden detonations or just yelling, he and Tobi keep each other busy.
𓆃 Deidara doesn't even seem to enjoy making his art at the rate he used to. Instead, most of it has been angry and spiteful, shoving random clay birds and bugs in Tobi's face in an attempt to get Tobi to appreciate his art.
𓆃 And of course, it's on Deidara when he places such an expectation on Tobi knowing he won't understand.
𓆃 You can most definitely count on being stuck in the middle of the disputes, because Tobi is hiding behind you to get away from Deidara and Deidara is strongly petitioning you to just fucking agree with him!
𓆃 Most of your dynamic will hinge on who you side with. Whether you gang up on Tobi together or take pitty on the pathetically seemingly incompetent third member.
𓆃 Ganging up on him will more likely lead to establishing a hierarchy within the squad, and you'll find that Tobi is more than willing to take commands and orders with the right direction.
𓆃 Despite having to quite literally train Tobi like a dog, you can create some pretty powerful team moves together. Tobi is a surprisingly competent support on the battlefield.
𓆃 Taking pitty on Tobi won't be too much different in the short-term, but has the potential to be helpful in the longterm... not that you know that.
𓆃 He'll continue to hide behind you. You'll incur Deidara's wrath before he cools down. Rinse, repeat.
𓆃 And perhaps you'll enjoy his little jokes every now and then, especially on grueling missions where you need entertainment.
𓆃 Tobi is willing to serve even more than he would under Deidara's pressure, and will bring you little useless gifts from time to time.
𓆃 He's so pleasant and goofy you'd hardly notice the off comments he says from time to time.
𓆃 Because he mumbles. He mumbles and mutters to himself, but when you ask him about it, he insists that he has no idea what you're talking about.
𓆃 Sometimes, you hear him in the middle of the night talking to himself about revenge and a girl you've never met. His voice is lower than you had ever heard it...
"Tobi?" you say somewhere off into the darkness.
He's close by, just in front of you, where you can make out the vague outline of his cloak. His back faces you as he rocks, muttering to himself in the same deep voice that had been waking you up for a few nights now.
It wasn't every night, but every so often, you'd shoot out of sleep, the mutterings of an unfamiliar man shaking you to your core.
You groped at the ground in front of you, dirt sinking into your fingernails as you pawed across the leaf litter on the forest floor. The pads of your fingers brushed against the ends of Tobi's cloak, and you swiftly grasped it.
"Tobi?" you repeated in a whisper, barely awake. You blinked with a yawn, the dimness only serving to further discombobulate your tired mind. You tugged on his cloak with another soft hiss of his name.
He grabbed your wrist, yanking you forward before you could even process. And in an instant, you were face to face with Tobi's orange, swirling mask. The single hole for his eye was as pitch black as the night.
He just stared at you and you stared into the abyss.
You tried to recoil, but the hold on your wrist didn't loosen. Your eyes flickered back to the dark circle.
You could feel his breathing. Slow, low, and steady as the muscles in his hand flexed around yours.
He said nothing, just muttering about the gift. The very whispers made your voice hitch in your throat as your heartbeat quickened.
The muttering grew angrier, and the words less coherent. Your other hand shot to Tobi's punishing grip on you as you tried to jerk yourself away. He only held onto you harder as you began to kick and thrash, somehow maneuvering your leg to break yourself free before you tumbled across the dirt ground.
You scrambled to your feet, your chest crushed with panic as you grasped to collect yourself in the moonlight. A cloud passed overhead, allowing the dim moon to coat the forest clearing in a silvery sheen.
Tobi sat by himself in the middle, legs folded under him as he stared up at the sky. Deidara slept soundly at the edge, undisturbed by the commotion.
Tobi turned to you slowly.
The feeble beams of the night left mild shadows across his mask, leaving his frame looking almost transparent.
"What are you doing awake, silly goose?" Tobi giggled. He rose to his full height, and only then did you realize how truly tall he was. He raised a fist in the air. "Tobi has night watch all covered! Isn't Tobi a good boy?"
He stepped toward you, and you instinctively stepped back. Tobi stopped in his tracks, mask tilted downward to stare from your offending foot to slowly back up at your face. The mask cocked to the side, seeming angered. You couldn't prevent the chill that jerked your shoulders.
"Isn't Tobi a good boy?" he asked again. You didn't trust the softness in his tone. You gulped, nodding.
"Yeah," you resigned, frozen where you stood. "Tobi's a real good boy."
"Yes, Tobi is! Now go back to sleep."
You didn't know what to do. Too afraid to do anything else, you curled up at Deidara's foot and remained wide awake for the entirety of the night.
Thank you to all who liked, reblogged, followed, and supported. Your support means so much and is greatly appreciated.
Notes: I like how the panel cuts off in such a way that it looks like one of them (Tobi) took a bite out of the post.
