It's interesting to keep up with the show and notice that we're getting more and more episodes dedicated to taking shots at critics. Really shows how thin Thomas Astruc's skin is.

Right? You'd think he would have tried dedicating episodes to actually world building/plot progression instead of wasting everyone's time trying to punch down on people that are neither his core audience nor intended one. Legit, half these recent "plotpoints"/character soapbox moments that are basically about how S5 was actually great and we're clearly illiterate plebs for not realizing this could have easily been replaced with...anything really. You don't actually have to say anything back to the thousands of reddit and twitter users pointing out plotholes, least of not in multiple 30-min episodes.

I think a mutual once said that TA comes off as an insecure writer with how often he goes in and tries to justify retcons and it's absolutely true. It's the same exact issue as with a lot of current writers - they're so scared of their hypothetical critics complaining about their story that they're stopping every ten paragraphs to tell them "Oh, I though not like this trope, so I'm having my characters talk about how stupid it is that people do this trope. Isn't that stupid, hahaha! Please like me!" and making their plots unbearable to slog through; except in the ML writers case, it's more they're so offended at the hypothetical critics not liking their brain baby that their using 2/3rds of their limited season to tell everyone how dumb and stupid they are for not liking it when the answer is...ignore them and focus on your story. "Don't feed the trolls (or in this case, critics)" has withstood the test of time for a reason.

Because ultimately it's unnecessary. Much as I enjoy the show, I know I'm not the target demographic (or at the very least, I grew out of it), and neither are the other people criticizing it. A lot of them don't even watch the show religiously enough to even see those episodes to know they're being made fun of. Neither I nor them are not going to get huffy at TA creating this random lady citizen who spouts my takes just to get taken down and humbled by LB and Chat to show how stupid she is for thinking these things because we mostly don't care that TA hates our opinions enough to do that - and I doubt the 6-8 yr-olds the show is meant for care either, because most of them are too young or busy doing 6-8 yr-old things to be on here browsing my blog, let alone be invested in my metaphorical beef with a 40+ french man who doesn't even know I exist!

I thought this with that infamous Thunder Cats Go! episode, and I'm thinking it here: It's one thing to make small snide asides about critic nitpicks and so on - but when you are making us spend episodes watching random fake jerks (created to represent a small minority of your show's fandom) that have nothing to do with the actual ongoing plot who just exist to be made fun of for personal internet spats you had (that none of them care about or will remember), it just tells me you don't care about you're show, so why should I care about these spats you're having?

They just feels messy and impulsive and full of feelings in a perfect teenager way which makes it easier to witness them make questionable decisions again and again with very little open honest communication. This show is just chewy in the best way that keeps me glued to the screen all through the episodes.

This is a whole new level of toxic and love triangle. Is there even a word for when it's 3 people vying for one person's attention? Is it simply a love square? I'm rooting for the toxic4toxic pairing even if I would be up for toxic polyamory. Also who the fuck makes a deal with their rival to not pursue the person you both like but instead pretend to date each? Absolutely bonkers and I'm enjoying the drama immensely.

This had a very satisfying ending and it's definitely not unthinkable that I'll re-watch this in the future.

Est and William have great chemistry and the band dynamic was a fun part of the show. I do think that the overall quality of the plot and the shows message got a little lost in the promotional aspect of the show because this show was clearly both a BL and promotion of LYKN (RL MARS). It seemed like the first handful of episodes were spent on introducing the members of the band and the band member characters weren't really allowed to have any negative qualities. Like any actions they took that seemed to work against our mains was given positive motives. Another thing is that since the show was to some extent a promotion of LYKN, Oner was basically the fictional embodiment of GMMTV which meant the show couldn't fully cast Oner and Miss Pemika in a negative light which frustrated me so much. It felt weird every time the show tried to cast Miss Pemika and her actions in a positive light because in MARS' story she was the clear villain even if she did all the right things for the company. It was like the show spent 90% of the time showing how much of a bad guy she was in MARS' and Po's story but once in a while the show did some fucked up version of 'No Homo!' but instead it was 'No Bad guy!'.

This show is sadly getting overshadowed this week because even if I'm enjoying it, a bunch of the other shows are just on a whole 'nother level. Not sure where we're going with this show but I'm along for the ride even though I'm kinda hoping our second pairing end up being the best of friends instead of lovers.

I wasn't completely satisfied with this ending but I can't quite explain what I would have liked differently or what I didn't like.

I feel like maybe MeMindY is more used to making their usual 12 episode shows but haven't quite figured out how to plan their plot for shorter shows. I was similarly feeling kinda off at the end of Love Sea so that's my best guess. I feel like MeMindY always deliver on production quality and actor pairings but their weak point has always been the plot. Where most of their shows have wild plots, they usually add small detours and addendums along the way of the 12 episodes which means it doesn't detract from the overall plot about the main characters which is usually solid. With these shorter shows I feel like I'm maybe missing some meat or just some exposition because they don't have time to dive into too much. Like they could have easily spent more time in this show on Ozone and the mom and Jin's powers and the reasons behind what lead Cir to stalking Phu and why he kept doing it. I think I just wanted more.

This kept being cute until the end and it definitely hit the spot as a pulp. It had enough going for itself in terms of charm and heart and humor that I didn't mind horribly when the lower production quality shone through.

Thinking about pacing and how it's why I became a Byler.

If Mike and El were endgame, the pacing of season 4 would be....weird.

Normally conflict and confrontation is climactic, ESPECIALLY simultaneous conflict that "all crashes down on you". That's built up separately as A and B plots that intersect, this point of intersection being Mike.

Which is why I was so surprised when Will and Mike fought and had to pause it and go, "wait, what's happening?" Before that point I was worried that the season conflict was veering towards pitting Will and El against each other over Mike based on the tension at the rink - I naturally assumed that it was setting up the season arc with the current events that would continue until a 3rd act payoff, but it wasn't.

Will calls Mike out immediately and El calls him out the next day. Leaving the rest of the season empty. It's why Mike's final speech doesn't work. The plot was not maintained. It was a setup and payoff much like the painting, which I forgot about by the time he pulled it out might I add. We do not follow either Mike nor El's point of views on this plot, with only one even ACKNOWLEDGING it.

It doesn't. Make. Sense. At least not for my original prediction. Which is why I paused it, and thought:

If Will is calling Mike out now that means he won't ignore him for the rest of the season. Then what will the central conflict be? Will has said what he needs to say. Mike clearly has not, though, so this is more of a setup for him, but a setup for what? Will has nowhere to go from here because he has already reached the peak of this arc, demonstrating the vulnerability self-assuredness required for this honestly AND there is nothing for him as a person to follow this up with. The ball is in Mike's court to apologize. So the ball is in Mike's court for this plotline, this scene is an inciting incident for Mike, but for what? In this scene, he contrasts Will's honesty by being closed off and defensive, so his arc is to truth, but what truth? What secret would be threatened by Will's accusations of- OHHHHHHHHHHH

Will got too close, Mike got defensive, and his season arc is gaining the courage and vulnerability to explain himself. Got it. (We're not done)

2 episodes later: he apologizes and explains with vulnerability - WHAT? Okay, but he still hasn't told him how he feels so they're just pacing it differently, we mentally adjust. He is building up to telling him no longer with the stakes of his relationship to Will but rather the urgency of owing El an explanation/decision by the time he sees her again, one which he would likely tell Will first. The stakes are the commitment and pain he causes the longer he stalls. He needs to confess by the time he sees her again. Yes. He seems to be slowly working it out, coming back to the "why" repeatedly, and Will is giving him coded words - not enough to be a confession from Will and he has already demonstrated his honesty (the van scene is really just an inciting incident for the Jonathan coming out scene as far as Will's plot goes) - that he's reacting to and are perfect to be the tipping point for his motivation. And he's looking between El and Will with a strange expression. And he's......(I kinda just sat confused for a while until I got to the end and realized it was supposed to be a cliffhanger for the first time and also that there was a season 5, at which point I sat further before understanding that this was a multi-season arc because season 4 had themes of subverted happy endings into tragedy)

I had to adjust it with little tweaks throughout but only ever in pacing, never in event. But if I got it 2 hours into a 13 hour season, I'm sure they'll catch up in the next 8.

just some thoughts over what might happen next:

tonkla's scenes - solely first timeline (dome is dead), win helped him investigate who killed his brother. he exacted his revenge on title and great (they found title's dashcam obviously).

great's scenes in ep 1-5 - all are second timeline. the starting point of timeline divergence is the elevator where tonkla shot him. 4th floor. which we've already known is bad luck in feng shui because 4 sounds like death.

and elevators going down is sort of like an entrance to hell as well... or another dimension. (ive seen this used in many other movies, dramas, novels before.)

ep 6 is our clarity. what really happened in the first timeline when great didn't try to change everything.

he died at 11:01, so im thinking 1 day in the second timeline means 1 minute in the first timeline.

but reviving someone from cardiac arrest should be at least 4 minutes before the patient develops brain damage. we're currently in his 3rd day, hence we're seeing 11:03 now.

however, the catch is there are things that are constant. his parents. what other people can do. tyme will still receive the bribe money.

that great will still get shot (as parallel to the first timeline where tonkla shot him in the elevator).

in other words, the second timeline is now a fail reset because he still ended up dying anyways. first times are always hard, i guess.

i have no idea what ep 7-8 will be. but if the save point (calling it save point like a game lol) is now in front of his parents' company, the new timeline may start there. although i can't remember any scenes where he visited the company? we might have to go back in time even further for that, and maybe tonkla's cat will be saved? ("that's years before!" well no idea im just putting this out there. not to mention, all these happened because of generational trauma anyway.)

but if this is how the story goes, great needs to avoid the path where tonkla shoots him or avoid being shot at all. which means a lot of things need fixing but i don't know if they can do it with 2 eps left...?

there is also a possibility that he successfully avoids being shot, but tyme gets shot instead (wait. haven't they already shown this scene in ep 1? this is probably from an entirely new timeline...)

triage had 13 eps which made all of these possible without plot holes so, 4 minutes may end in a cliffhanger? i dont know sammon please spare us your mercy no pun intended 😭

do you think there's a chance we can get a fourth game? I don't wanna wait another 8 years or so for the finale ofc but it feels like they intentionally stretched out remake just so that this temporary character who's only in one disc of the og gets to be on 2 out of the 3 remake games. like remake was so unnecessarily long for her sake or something.

there's so many things left to do for the third game and on top of that cloud now has to "learn of her death" bc they fucked the scene up & made it unnecessarily long too like if you dead just stay dead I detest SE to end for that sickening hand grasp scene. that new scene is probably gonna take an annoyingly long amount of time too probably so I'm worried we won't get to enjoy a perfectly kebab free third game even though they'll probably make an even more annoying "ending hand reach" scene this time.

anyway back to my point. unless they make the third game even longer than the first two it feels like it won't have enough space for us to go through all the plot points and side plots in the 2nd and 3rd discs especially with all the added content and the lengthened boss fights.

Nope. They've said it's a trilogy. I'm hoping part 3 has 60% main scenario and 40% side content. That's how Rebirth should've been too. Your side content shouldn't exceed your main scenario when your main scenario has so much going on in it.

Also aerith's death is a shit stopping point. There's no cliffhanger there. If they'd used their brains and got them to the whirlwind maze, lost Cloud, woke up the weapons and had everyone captured, that would've been the perfect stopping point. We go into part 3 with Tifa as the leader, search for Cloud, get the hw, there's room for new/expanded content and it's just a more dynamic game.

But the devs are dumb and not only ruined the ending of rebirth with that fucking yoyo, they didn't bring the hype for part 3. There's no anticipation of anxiety for the characters because we know they're gonna start at icicle inn, which is a meh low key start.

Ok. I have thought about this a lot. If I am missing any other textual evidence, let me know:

1) Human Cas was drifting between homeless shelters and living on the street before he got rescued by Dean and Sam.

But when Dean comes to see him at work, Dean is surprised to see him there, thinks the job is "a cover," and acts like the job itself is beneath Cas. Then he posits that the job itself is really about Cas trying to hook up with Nora, the boss lady.

The fact that Dean doesn't think Cas would need a job to survive while hiding out from the angels leads me to believe that Dean gave him a plot armor credit card to survive on. Otherwise, none of that interaction makes sense.

Dean spends most of the scene like, "You don't need this fake job. Come hunt with me (ie, do real work.)"

I think the argument as written is supposed to read more as Cas saying he can no longer be an spn style hero guy, and instead must be only a sad normie. And Dean is arguing against the idea that Cas has lost any of his hero-ness. (It's hard to pay attention to that, because the audience is preoccupied with how Cas is buying food and clothes and the like.)

However, the next time we see Cas, he's still human but hunting out of a motel room, because he's decided to take responsibility for what's going on with the angels. Ie, he's not scared anymore. The change seems to indicate that the reason he was at the job at all was more about needing a sense of a place in the world/confidence in his own abilities and less about his survival.

At that point, even though he is still human, money definitely doesn't seem to be a problem. Nor is it a problem from this point forward in the series, even though Cas now has to pay for motels and gas for his silly car. And he's had a cellphone since season 5. Clearly that phone plan has been getting paid somehow. In later seasons he has money to buy Claire dinner and magazines and a motel room.

It stands to reason that we're supposed to assume Cas has money in the same nonsense way Sam and Dean do, and that his problems before getting to the bunker are supposed to be less about just not having money and more about how closely the angels are looking for him, combined with Cas not understanding anything about being human (needs like food/water/sleep/shelter), and Dean being unable to go grab him immediately because Sam is dying and then him not knowing exactly where Cas is hiding. Like once he has a new cellphone and a credit card, he's fine. Heck, at the end of season 8, just before any of this, he pulls a wad of cash out in that mini mart to buy Dean apology porn/pie/beer. Where was that supposed to have been from?? It's just plot armor money..

2) Cas seems like he didn't call until the conversation we see on-screen, and Dean doesn't yell at him for not having called, so that seems to indicate not.

I don't think Dean explicitly said to call, and I think that for multiple reasons: Dean doesn't give Cas a real explanation about why he can't stay, so I think he would have said as little as possible, because he'd be feeling too guilty to make any sort of demands on what Cas does or does not do next. I also think he would say as little as possible to avoid Cas asking him any further questions that he wouldn't be able to answer. The 3rd reason i think Dean wouldn't ask this is because he assumed Cas would call him anyway. And 4th, Dean seems to see Cas as more capable at that moment than Cas truly is. It seems like much of the episode with Cas's job is Dean reconciling that Cas is less capable, more afraid, and more human now. I think in the moment he makes Cas leave, he truly thinks Cas will be able to take care of himself fine now, which again leads credence to the "Dean gave him a credit card" theory, because other than that, nothing else has changed from 3 seconds earlier when Cas was homeless, starving, and at the mercy of the angels hunting him.

3) Cas is definitely shocked to see Dean, so I don't see any evidence that they spoke after that phone call on-screen. So either Dean did some spn style detective work asking around about a new weird guy in town. Which, on this show, would absolutely work after asking like, 2 people. Or he, also in spn fashion, is tracking the gps on his phone, or tracked the aforementioned credit card usage. However he got there, Cas definitely is not the one who told him.

I still have questions!!

1. Did Dean give Cas any money when he told him he couldn’t stay?

2. Did he tell Cas to call and let him know where he ends up?

3. How did Dean know where he was working? Did Cas call and give Dean an update of his circumstances? Or Dean just happened to see him while out and about?

[ORR] Ikemen Prince: Beauty and Her Beast - Yves Kloss Route Review.

Hello everyone, this is my second route for CYBIRD's Ikemen Prince: Beauty and Her Beast. And we will make a review about it today. I will also compare the two routes I've had so far!

MAIN PLOT: You are an ordinary citizen of Rhodalite that works in a bookstore, living life through the stories written in books. One day, your pure heart caught the eye of a Royal Minister turning you into 'Belle'. Your job is to discern which of the 8 Princes are worth to be the next King of Rhodalite. With their own charms, any blossoming love will be doomed by the Clause 99 of Belle's Covenant.

MAIN ROUTES: 1st Prince Jin Grandet, 2nd Prince Chevalier Mitchel, 3rd Prince Clavis Lelouch, 4th Prince Leon Dompteur, 5th Prince Yves Kloss, 6th Prince Licht Klein, 7th Prince Nokto Klein, and 8th Prince Luke Randolph. Minister and King's Regent, Sariel Noir and, Your Butler, Rio Ortiz.

Currently, Sariel, and Rio's routes are not yet released.

My second route for this game is, 5th Prince Yves Kloss. He is portrayed in the game as someone who is the tsundere type, he is very proud of his nobility and prince title and seems somewhat unfriendly.

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR HIS ROUTE!

Yves Kloss' character was introduced in the prologue as very arrogant and unfriendly. I wasn't entirely sure of what to think of him when I first met him in the prologue but I do know he is one of, if not, the prettiest character design in the game which makes a lot of sense for his personality as well. His character design is what made me choose him for my second route, even though I have no idea what the story would be like.

In the first part of his story, he made a deal with Belle in a way to make sure she is doing her job but it is clearly just to make sure she can protect her while she is doing her job. The promise to 'If I ever fall in love with you, I'm all yours. If you fall in with me, I'm all yours' is once of the things that was promised in the first part of the story which made it exciting.

Yves is a tsundere so his character in itself is built with a wall, he doesn't say things straight to the point and his intention is not too clear but knowing his character's archetype, it was very easy to figure out for me. His walls are not too hard to breakdown either, we got to know him quickly and we're made to realize that his heritage is very complicated.

He is a mixed blood with Rhodolite and Obsidian royal blood, Obsidian Kingdom is in bad terms with Rhodolite so his reputation is very much stained because of that. He is seen by the people of Rhodolite as a future traitor because he has the blood of an Obsidian Prince. Although that is the case, Belle learned that he is very much kind-hearted and love his people a lot and hopes to bring peace to all Kingdoms one day.

The whole plot of Yves is not too stressful at all, I would say he is something you'd expect from an Otome game, it's very cliche but in a beautiful way. The main conflict of his story is his heritage and it was emphasized in one of my favorite scenes of the story.

Yves crying in the kitchen, questioning his worth, Belle got to know how much he hates himself more than anyone in the Kingdom. He asks that he hates being himself and wish to be someone else. This is the depth of Yves that I was genuinely waiting for in terms of his character and it was given!

As a player, you feel like you want to protect him and nurture him, and Belle feels the same way in the game, too!

The story got complicated near the ending, he's been used as a pawn by the Obsidian Kingdom, trying to kill him off as a way to create a false story that could make them take over Rhodolite. This was all after Belle confessed to him before he goes to Obsidian.

The rest of the Princes went there to protect Yves and stop Obsidian's plans, with Licht bringing Belle with him so that Yves 'will have a reason to live'. Yves showed love for himself and courage even when he was all alone fighting all the Obsidian's knights.

The ending of this route is very nice and comforting, too. He made a peace treaty for all the nation, fulfilling his wish to make all Kingdoms unite. Belle didn't choose one King, but rather chose all 8 Princes to lead the Kingdom in the mean time as everything calms down. She would then choose a King afterwards.

The Clause 99 is not at all followed in Yves' route, it was almost neglected in the story with Sariel's support of it. It wasn't also shown who she chose King at the end of the story but it was a lighthearted ending.

For the ending, I chose the Dramatic Route, it is sweet and funny, too. As I said, Yves' route is definitely very cliche but it is a nice story to have after Chevalier's route.

COMPARISON TO CHEVALIER ROUTE:

Compared to Chevalier's route, Yves is definitely more laid back. If you want a more fun, romantic and cute route that follow cliche touch of Otome games, Yves route should definitely be your first pick in the game. Chevalier's route is honestly the type that makes you question why you chose his route because it's so stressful but his route interest me the most.

Out of the two, Chevalier's route is still my favorite.

Anyway, Luke and Clavis' route are out now, it will probably take me time before I can actually play Luke because his personality is really not my type. But as of the moment, I am in the middle of Licht's route at the moment so he is the next review!

i'm slowly circling around hermitcraft (i keep telling myself i'm not going to get into another minecraft smp thing, i did my days in the yogscast mines) and it's so compelling. i won't lie. what would you, personally, suggest as a starting point for someone who hasn't watched any of these people before? even without knowing these characters, your hermitcraft fic is so good that i want to learn more about them

so, okay, my first caveat would be: fandom does a lot of heavy lifting re: it having a plot. like... i'd say they're less plotty than the yogs were, with season 8 being an honourable exception. so don't go in expecting that my fic has uhhhhh. really any relation to canon lmao. (though to be fair, it didn't really in yogs either, so...)

first option: watch an episode of Hermitcraft Recap (a channel that does a weekly "what happened on hermitcraft this week" highlights video), see if any of the things mentioned take your fancy, and then check out the channel of the hermit that did it. this is good if you're hunting for someone doing a specific Thing in minecraft, rather than streamer personality.

second option: see the rec list below, and check out one of those people's season 8. season 8 is now over, but it was very short compared to regular seasons - so a lot of the excitement gets compressed and amped up, and it's a good way to really get an idea of what people are about. it will give you an unrealistic idea of how plotty hermitcraft gets, especially the end, because they went absolutely off the shits with that one, but it's a great season.

third option: see the rec list below, and jump straight into season 9 - either at the beginning of someone's series, or at the current point, or skip around through various people's things. we're like 20-ish eps in, depending on the person, but honestly it's pretty easy to dip in and out; we just had a big Plot Development with rendog getting crowned king of the server, so it's a good time to start! rec list (biased to the people i watch, obvs! the others are great too, but these are my faves), to help you decide who to pick:

Literally no idea but you should watch him: Joe Hills (very odd, currently hyperfixated on pinball machines, i find him very soothing for reasons that escape me, writes haikus for his episodes????)

fourth option: some of what you've seen from me will be from 3rd / last / double life, a bunch of semi-hardcore "death games" series run by grian and involving a bunch of hermits (plus some other friends, including inthelittlewood from the yogscast!). these are great, and i watched these before hermitcraft, and then based who i was watching in hc on what i'd seen there. double life is happening rn and we're only 3 eps in, so it'd be easy to catch up! it's basically a soulmate au but in minecraft, because grian is insane; i'm really enjoying BdoubleO100, PearlescentMoon, Tango, Rendog, and Grian (Scar is on a weird zookeeping arc, godbless, so he's in my bad books until he starts killing again. otherwise, the go-to rec is Grian or Scar's pov of 3rd Life, which sent me fucking insane.

Watching Con O'Neill's Filmography Day 8- The Last Seduction II (1999)

Writing: 3/10 Sloppy, I couldn't follow why our characters were doing what they were doing half the time. Also, there were points where the writers realized we might be starting to like Tony, so they just made him do/say something shitty. Like a marvel movie making a villain have a good point, then making them kill a bus full of children. Just so we know who to root for. Who was our protagonist? I will remember this movie for the (somehow stylish look at the time) 90s Con, and the weird sex scenes. Again, I love a strong female lead but she just didn't do anything fun.

Cinematography/Editing 5/10: Nothing memorable, nothing subtractive. Meh. It was, in fact, a movie.

All actors besides Con: 4/10: Forgetable or just bad. Again, it's not their fault, it's the writing. I didn't know who the story wanted us to root for. So I'd start to like a character just for them to do something confusing or shitty. Again, it's obvious they were trying. I hope these people got to work on something better.

Con: 6/10 He can't save a movie. He is having the most fun here, which isn't saying a lot. Troy is Con's most homophobic character in his filmography to date. Con plays him all bark with no bite. It's fun to see him play a totally irredeemable jackass. Again, the whole 'falling in love' plot was introduced and kind of dropped, but I'm glad they didn't really commit to it? Troy is way worse than Angel (from 3 Steps To Heaven), Angel was fun in his shitty behavior and stayed consistent in the story. Here Troy's an abusive dick. I was having fun until he punched a pregnant lady for shock value, then it was hot/cold the whole film. Good performance, shit script.

Overall 5-6/10 Not a strong recommendation, his worst film by miles. If you go in knowing it's shit, however, you can have a great time! I did! My brother and I got to watch a shitty movie and just take it for what it was! If I was watching this alone it would be a 4/10. It's no 'The Room', thank god, but it's nothing groundbreaking.

There are two POV characters and the story couldn't make me care about either of them. The setting felt like it could have taken place in London, Seattle, or Amsterdam. Con was fun, but this movie is really only worth it if you want to see Con play a homophobic weasel of a man.

An Honest Review of the Grade 9 Jazz Chants

Before the ratings, I'm going to state off the bat that I'm gonna be VERY SLIGHTLY biased to Priestley since that's my own section, but overall this is a 100% unbiased review.

Boyle (3rd Place) Starting off, we have Boyle. From the start, I made a few predictions on where the performance would go, based on the setting. Costumes are really well made, especially the fairy and statue of liberty. Props are really done well, with my favorite piece definitely being the two bank notes. The blurry Big Ben added a bit of comedy to the performance, which I also liked. Now the piece itself and how it was presented was overall really fun! I have seen this kind of plot before, but the theme of "a child's dream" is well executed. The ending is definitely the best part, being so out of left field it was actually gave me a bit of whiplash. Overall, I'd give the performance a 8/10! Curie (1st Place) Next we have Curie, which was the definition of "less is more". The simple yet consistent costume design was a good choice since it would have been a bit disjointed without it. The props were few but really well made! This performance is definitely one of the most well-executed themes of consistency. This one gets a 9/10!

Dalton (2nd Place) Now we have Dalton, which brought some of the best vibes I've ever felt, being a stark contrast from the contemporary performance of the social dance. Bringing the summer mood into a pretty closed off space, the theme is really well done and surprisingly unique. Costumes are on point, very fitting with the theme! Props were well done, a bit disappointed that only one party popper popped but, looking back, it was a pretty fun moment. The story is definitely a fun one, a couple traveling around the world, ending in a proposal. This is a really fun way to interpret the piece and I'm glad it went well! I'm giving this performance a 8.75/10!

Mendeleev (4th Place) Up next we have Mendeleev, which was really well done, as usual. The costumes were consistent yet striking. Props were nice and really fun. The few unique costumes (like the kimono) were really cool, especially the statue of liberty, which was fitting for him since he's pretty tall. Choreography was great, and the overall performance definitely gave off a "chant" vibe, if that makes sense. Mendeleev gets an 8/10 for me!

Priestley (5th Place) Finally, we have my section, Priestley. Keeping it honest, it could DEFINITELY have been better if we had more time. The props were surprisingly great given the limited time frame, the sushi being my favorite (personal bias, I carried it lol). Costumes were different yet connected in a way. Execution could've been better, being a bit iffy in the middle, but overall, I think we did pretty good! Overall, I would rate ourselves a 7.5/10!

This is my own opinion, and we're entitled to express them however we want, but if your opinion is just bringing down others or mocking others, might as well just keep it to ourselves! Grade 9 did great this year, as we always do, and at the end of the day, we're a big family who just wants to help each other out! Let's just try to help each other by giving CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, like what I'm doing now. Thanks for reading this and love y'all! <33

1. Literacy: I do literate/advanced literate. Therefore, I do roleplays in 3rd person pov and I would prefer you do the same, i.e., use he/she/they. Aside from that use (..), /.../, [...], or {..} for chats out of roleplay..like for casual talking, or simply informing about your activity or plotting further plot for the rp. Lastly, a reminder- use quotations, i.e., "..." For speech while your actions should be outside of the quotation marks. And also for expressing thoughts, I'd prefer using apostrophe, i.e., '...'

2.Length: I tend to do myself around 2-8 big text bubbles ( or instagram bubbles ). Since I like roleplays to be like writing stories-with the description of one's emotions, thoughts, actions, words and actions with a description of the surrounding/atmosphere. Therefore it's a request to try and write 2 bubbles ( especially for starters) or at least 1.5 bubble. Though usually I'll try to keep the rp within 3-4 bubbles ( I'll try not to do more than that as it sometimes takes really long to reply ).If I notice you lacking in response lengths, I'll slowly start to lose up my motivation from the roleplay as it'll no more seem fun to me. Resulting in me ending the roleplay.

3.Replies/Responses: Responses from my part will be a bit slow. I might take maximum a week or two to reply to the roleplay. So I might leave you on seen for hours/days to think of a perfect reply. As everyone has a life out of roleplay, we at times might not want to reply to the rp at the moment, so it'll be really kind of you to not spam me instead send me a reminder after a week. Even if I'm active, that doesn't mean I'll respond to the rp any sooner. Aside from that, I can wait for your response upto a month, mostly I'll send a reminded after a week or two. If you'r going on a hiatus or will be offline for a brief while ( due to some personal or say in real life issues ) please do inform me once and I'll do the same.

4. God modding: Please no god modding. To be honest, it's rather annoying and demotivating. Don't control my characters instead just control yours and I'll do the same. Aside from that, don't make your character that unstoppable and divinely/demonic one! It's unreal and pointless--> hence it's just dissuading

5. For god's sake, don't use racial slurs.

6. If I use this '❄️' it means I'm ending the roleplay. If I use this '⛈️' it's a reminder for leaving me on seen for upto a week or two.

This was such a good first episode!! I don't know what this show is doing different but it was able to keep my interest much more than the other shows currently airing. Admittedly we're only on episode 1 but the episode was a very promising start so fingers crossed that it keeps being good. I started watching this show specifically because it's the follow up to the GL Reverse 4 You which had a similarly interesting concept and was well executed even if the landing was little wobbily, which honestly happens more often than not for QLs.

I'm really glad that Phu is sure of what he wants and doesn't just follow Cir blindly. It makes for a good dynamic when Cir gets a little bit too overbearing and protective. This episode proved for the thousandth time that if there's one thing MeMindY knows how to do to perfection, it is NC scenes and sexual dynamics between characters.

I find it interesting that they can be honest with each other but not with their partners. It makes sense though because it seems like there's just so much baggage and things unsaid between the two couples and there's none of that between our leads. Their first time having sex felt incredibly one-side and I can't figure out how Rei is feeling about this and Hagiwara so I hope the show makes this more clear in the final episodes. I find this show interesting but I can't quite figure out what the show wants to say about sex or whether I like what it's trying to say or not. It seems to want to say something about how there's nothing wrong with wanting sex but since the partners are an ace person and a probably lesbian woman it feels a little iffy that they're cast as the bad guys in this.

Gun and Yotha are cute af and I love all the friends but I'm ready for the next pairing now. Especially in the this last episode Fai drew most of my attention so I can't wait for him to get all the love and attention he deserves.

Episode 7 of 8 || Watching on: iQiYi, Sunday

This show keeps being absolutely wild and unpredictable, but I like it?? Not a fan of how Sangmin both have lost his memories and gotten his IQ lowered by the operation, like what? Why is he acting different outside of having lost his memories? The only reason I can think off for this is that Sangmin is acting it up for some self-sacrificing reason but I don't know if I'd enjoy that as plot point either.

This show's production quality is great and it sticks nicely to its genre of high drama in a very soapy way. But I can't ignore that this story is coming out of mainland China so when the plot is saying that as long as these two characters love each other, one is bound to die, it has a lot more weight than if this was a Thai show. It feels a little too close to "bury your gays" even if we get a happy ending, which I'm not a fan of.

Ft. Varren, Ry & Vasha

Varren

For Varren...they're basically my love letter to Marvel/MCU but also a "fix it" OC. I love Marvel/MCU but there are just some plot holes or things that just don't make sense (in my head) that I want to fix. The MCU has been one of my biggest comfort movie series (the first being The Hobbit/LoTRs series)...and I want all the characters of the MCU (save for a select few) to have happy endings. Mostly the main Avengers crew and their friends.

Mostly because I had an idea brought on from one of the Thor movies (Thor: Ragnarok) where Hela says the Infinity Gauntlet that Odin has within his vault is "fake". That got me thinking "oh? is it now?" which I know that Odin didn't actually have the real gauntlet because Thanos did at that point (well, he had it long before then tbh but still). However, Marvel is known for their unique lore and characters. I mean, they've like changed the lore for the stones so they're sentient now??? So, like....I'm gonna pull a Marvel and just.....retcon shit :). I've made a Gauntlet that's....not a gauntlet at all. It's cleverly named a 'gauntlet' to throw people off the trail of this powerful relic.

I thought it'd be a really unique idea and character concept, so I made it. They've been an OC I've had for years. Originally they were a self insert that I used to self indulge in self-ships and/or an easier way for me to rewrite the MCU. I made them not a self-insert to the best of my ability.

Ry Daevon

Originally a self-insert Sorcerer/Mage Witcher OC to give my comfort with my gender identity which eventually turned into a character all their own because they decided to take life and leave me behind. They are the Yen to my other Witcher OC that's actually a Witcher that's also a self-insert to feel comfortable with my gender identity. They say women can't become a witcher and while I'm biologically female...I do not identify as female nor do I identify as male...so what would the trials for the witcher do then? How would it react to someone that just doesn't identify as either of the main genders? Like, what happens? Anyways, back to Ry...yeah they just took the "I'm dropped into the Witcher universe and have magical powers that I have no idea how or why...but I don't pay a price for it bc I'm accepted and have accepted myself for who I am". I HC'd Ry to not have to pay the price that the other mages have when using Chaos because...well, Ry's magic isn't chaos-bound. It's not a give-and-take relationship. Ry has accepted who they are and with their parent figure within Aretuza accepting it as well as keeping their secret of where their magic comes from.

Vasha Kisne

Well, she's not original in the sense of like I made the concept myself. There are many Warriors of Light. Not everyone has the same story but still. I am still very passionate about my gal Vasha though. 8 years of story to go through and the story arc we're currently on ends this Friday (Dec. 3rd - well, at least for me as I have early access but likely will finish it that weekend). She's....she's just so exhausted from all this saving the world shit. Which is why I have a FF15 and Supernatural (tv show) verse for her because those two are also all about "saving the world". I just...she's such a strong female character in both physical strength and emotionally as well. She takes on this burden of being the world's savior without agreeing to it....she's saved the world 3 times over and soon (Friday/the weekend) for the 4th time. Well, at least MAYBE for a 4th time...she might actually do full-on self-sacrifice for the greater good. I will entirely keep y'all updated on that because man...this....this gal has been so fucking close to me for 8 years now because of this story. I love her so fucking much man. I will fucking ball my eyes out this coming Friday and the weekend for her and the story. I will not recover.

I'm Standing on a Million Lives - Volume 2

I feel like vol. 1 was clunky as hell and full of cliches. This volume wasn't much better, but there was at least an attempt to take the story in a direction that felt unique. Sometimes I wish they just made this a JRPG instead though. (Wait, are there any isekai JRPGs?)

Ch. 5

-In this chapter we get some Hakozaki perspective and she muses about how she hates men and wants to be stronger. I am glad we're getting more character development, but I was rolling my eyes when she was like "it's not fair, Yotsuya's such a perfect specimen and I'm so frail." So sick of being told how amazing these bland, incel MCs are -sigh-

-Plot point 2 is that the gang saves a group of travelers being attacked by monsters and then realized they saved a bunch of criminals on their way to execution. We get some fantasy religious persecution thrown in for some spicy world building. It seems like there's a big focus on ethical quandaries in this series.

-We learn that Yotsuya's "cellular metabolism" magic allows him to heal minor wounds. Neat little mix of science and magic there.

Ch. 6

-More world building and some strategizing. I honestly rather the characters talk about figuring out the "game" rather than talking about their dumb backstories or having harem shenanigans, so this was refreshing.

-I guess we just don't know at this point, but I'm kind of confused about how real the current reality they're in right now is. Is it a simulation? Parallel universe? The future? The answer will really impact how douchey I find MC who keeps not caring about the NPCs safety.

-It was interesting to hear both sides of the persecuted and persecutor's views on deities vs. royalty. Also appreciated the real world parallels the characters made which helped me understand the situation. Some of this seems decently well thought out.

-The dungeon they get trapped in at the end of the chapter gave me Legend of Zelda dungeon vibes.

Ch. 7

-More world building (the chapter is interrupted halfway by what looks like 2 pages out of a DnD manual) and strategizing. This chapter was pretty decent.

-The idea that the characters stats transfer to the real world feels really arbitrary to me. Like, why would just the stats transfer if not other things? (Items, costumes, etc.) Seems like they just put that in there for some extra, contrived conflict

-The constantly changing POVs felt normal when it was just character-to-character, but in this chapter they abruptly threw in a 3rd person narrator and that just felt sooo clumsy. That's gotta break some law of writing.

-Rolled my eyes at all the "look at how strong/badass Yotsuya is" bits. Especially the author's constant need to be like "the girls need a MAN, because they can't measure up to his MANLY strength."

-They finally explained the costuming thing! Again, I would have liked that explanation sooner. This author really doesn't know how to naturally include exposition.

-Shindo making a sexy face and saying "Yotsuya-kun <3" felt really out of place at the end there...really not sure where that came from

Ch. 8

-Okay, I feel like the author has really hit their stride with the strategizing and world building. This feels pretty different from vol. 1 now which was more action and character heavy. One thing that troubles me is that the pacing is pretty slow, which makes me wonder where all this will be going in the next 8+ volumes. (Well technically it's not done publishing so maybe it'll just be hella long lol)

-Other than Yuka, it feels kind of inconsistent whether or not the girls are in love with Yotsuya. I feel like it's implied by default because "anime," but it would be way more interesting if everything was kept platonic :/
