Currently doing a final proofread, and by "doing a final proofread" I mean I'm 200 pages deep in an unsearchable PDF of an owners manual for a car from the 90s that I've never owned, desperately trying to verify how one would open the little door that leads to the gas cap.
Is it relevant to the plot? Nope. Is it even relevant to the action happening in the scene? Nope. It's exactly one line that serves as a transition. But I know-- I just know-- that if it's wrong, the Car People will find it and they will eat me alive for it.
I also know I'm not the only one. So lay em on me, fellow writeblrs: What bizarre, weirdly specific, ultra-niche research are we doing for our WIPs?

the breeze of the early evening wind was doing wonders for you at the moment; it was nice to take a moment for yourself amongst all your responsibilities and just relax.
it was even nicer that you were able to enjoy a cold beverage after completing all your student council duties; the vending machine on the rooftop was a great investment, (you’d been against it when someone pitched the idea, but you’re so glad you approved it). all of this paired with your favorite music playing through your earbuds from your iPod?
yeah, this was a perfect moment.
you perked up a bit when you heard the door to the rooftop open, looking to see who was there.
“hm? oh, baji-kun!” the boy looked over to you at the call of his name, the corners of his lips turning up when he recognized you. “what’re you still doing here? i thought you would be home already.” you asked, pulling an earbud out of your ear.
“chifuyu and ryusei were helping me with some stuff after school and we just finished up. how ‘bout you? it’s getting pretty late.” you sighed at his query, the stress coming back to you just thinking about all the things you have left to do.
“there was a lot of club budgeting to finish because a lot of the clubs are requesting more budget. all the presidents are getting mad at me for choosing another club over them, but it’s like, maybe if you were more productive with your club, i would allot more budget, y’know? gah, just thinking about it gives me a headache…i haven’t even finished the revised budgeting for half of them…” you shook your head, sighing at the predicament. when you looked back up, you saw baji adjusting his glasses awkwardly, as if he didn’t know what to say.
“sorry about that, baji-kun. i just came up here for a small break from it and ended up complaining about it to you.”
“nah, it’s fine. ‘m kinda like that with studying too.”
“oh, right! how has the studying been going for you-? wait, hm…” noticing that he was still standing, you paused, slipping your school blazer off and laying it down next to you, patting it. “here, come sit down! you don’t have to keep standing, y’know. i’m not gonna bite!” you teased, feeling satisfied when he came and sat down next to you.
“anyways! how has the studying been? have your test scores been alright lately?”
“yeah, they’ve been alright. enough to pass.”
“i’m glad to hear it! you’re improving so much, it’s so impressive! oh, you can also always ask me for a tutoring session or if you need anything. that’s what i’m here for!” you offered, smiling at him. “i admire your diligence, so i’m happy to help with anything!”
baji nodded at your words, a small smile on his lips. “yeah, thanks.”
after a few moments of silence, you offered one of your earbuds to baji, who accepted. you weren’t sure if the two of you had the same music taste, but you figured it was worth a try, and surprisingly, he didn’t seem to complain at all. in fact, he even complimented your song choice, which made you feel a very normal amount of happy. a very normal amount.
˗ˏˋ ☆ ˎˊ˗
you were scared awake by a sudden yell, jerking as you immediately sat up, wondering what was going on.
“hey!! open this door right now!!” the banging on the door drew your attention to baji, who was no longer by your side and was yelling at the door. “hello?! shit…” he walked away from it, sighing a bit.
now that you were a bit more awake and coherent, you realized that it was dark outside.
oh shit…
“ohhh my god, i’m gonna be in so much trouble, ohhhh my god…” you mumbled, scrambling for your phone to check what time it was. when you finally found it and flipped it open, the only thing that popped up on the screen was the dead battery symbol, making you groan.
“uh…” baji started, seeming a bit awkward. “the door…is locked.”
“what?!” you exclaimed, shooting up and walking towards the door. you tried the doorknob to no avail, proving baji’s words to be true. “oh my god…dude, i’m so dead. school administration might actually kill me if they find out about this…”
baji was running a hand through his hair, also seeming to be very stressed. “my mom’s gonna kick my ass…”
now that you were looking more closely, you realized that baji had ditched his glasses and that his ponytail was gone, making him seem almost unrecognizable. in fact, you might not have recognized him if you’d passed by him on the street looking this way.
in all honesty, he actually looked so much better without the thick lenses of his glasses blocking the view of his amber eyes, and you thought that his dark hair being free from a hair tie suits him a lot better. you’re curious to see how he dresses outside of school now; he would probably fit streetwear pretty good-
wait, you have to focus. there are more important things to be thinking about right now.
right, right.
focus.
“baji-kun, does your phone have any battery?”
“no…” he mumbled, his hands shoved into his pockets as he looked at the sky. you sighed, trying to think of something. in the midst of your thinking, a chilly breeze blew by, making you shiver a bit.
“ahh, i can’t believe this is happening.” you murmured, laughing a bit at the ridiculousness of the situation. “actually though, i’m sorry about this, baji-kun. you wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for me.” you said, feeling a bit guilty. after all, you had been the one who had offered for him to sit down with you, and from what you remember, you were the one who fell asleep.
“it’s fine, i fell asleep too.” he said, leaning down to grab your school blazer off of the floor. “here, put this back on. it’s cold.” he tossed it over to you and you gladly accepted it, brushing some of the dust off before slipping it on. it helped a bit against the cold, but you supposed you underestimated how chilly the nights get in the spring.
baji sat back down, taking his school blazer off and setting it beside him, loosening his lie. he leaned his head back against the wall and shoved his hands into his pockets. he seemed to have given up in trying to get someone’s attention, instead accepting the situation. you were about to sit down again and do the same, but you suddenly got an idea, shuffling around in your pockets for some spare change.
“yes! 500 yen!” you whispered excitedly, walking up to the vending machine. “hey, baji-kun, do you like red bean?”
“huh? yeah, why?”
“one sec…” you answered, putting the coins in the machine. you picked out two red bean buns, watching as they slowly dispensed and fell into the bottom compartment. reaching into the bottom, you grabbed both of them, walking a few steps and sitting next to baji.
“i mean, it isn’t exactly dinner, but it’s something!” you said, offering one of the buns to baji. he accepted it, saying something about paying you back as he opened the wrapper, immediately taking a huge bite. you did the same, not realizing how hungry you were until you started eating it.
“i’m actually such a genius for this!” you exclaimed, continuing to munch on the bread. “it’s so lucky that i ended up approving the budget for this vending machine!” silence fell over the two of you as you continued eating, but you felt more content than awkward. you’re glad that you ended up stuck here with someone nice like baji.
speaking of baji, you were still a bit caught off guard by how different he looked without his glasses and ponytail. of course, you’d noticed how cute he was even before, but the word you would go with now is more like…attractive?
really attractive, but still cute.
“what?”
“huh?”
“you were lookin’ at me.” you felt your cheeks flush, a bit embarrassed at the fact that he caught you looking at him.
“oh, i was just thinking, you look a lot different without your glasses. do you actually need them?” baji seemed to think for a moment before he spoke again.
“nah, i jus’ don’t want people gettin’ the wrong idea about me.” he ended up saying. “i’m trying to get better with school, so if i go around lookin’ the way i do…”
“girls will be attracted to you?” baji sputtered at your words, almost spitting out the bread that was in his mouth.
“hah?! no!! it’s ‘cause i don’t want people knowing i’m in a gang!!” your jaw dropped at his words, and he subsequently smacked his hand over his face.
the information was a huge shock to you. of course, you’d heard the rumors, but you’d chalked them up to just that; rumors. after all, even though baji wasn’t someone with perfect grades, you always saw him trying his best to get his grades up, and you really admired that.
“you…pff…you’re in a gang?! riiight…” you managed to get out, giggles starting to overtake your words. “baji-kun, you literally dressed in a sailor school uniform to get extra tutoring-!”
“hey! that was one time!” he grumbled, his ears turning pink. you finished laughing, wiping some tears from your eyes as you calmed down.
“okay okay, sorry. i mean, are you being serious though?” you asked, feeling a bit curious.
“yeah. only losers lie about stuff like that.”
“okay, which one then?”
“toman.” again, your mouth dropped at his answer, but you recovered quicker than before.
“t-toman, like tokyo manji gang…right. yes. wait, would you get arrested if people found out you were in a gang? why can’t anybody know?”
“it’s ‘cause then random dudes start showin’ up at school to fight, and then i get in trouble for fighting.”
“ohh, i guess that makes sense. why would they bother you at school though? school isn’t the place for that stuff…”
“dunno. it just gets annoying to deal with after a while, and my mom always kicked my ass when the school called her, so it was kinda crap.” you nodded thoughtfully at his words.
“well, your secret’s safe with me, baji-kun! pinky promise i won’t say a word to anyone!” you held your pinky out, but he just looked away from you.
“i believe you, you don’t have to-”
“c’mon!! it’s not a pinky promise if you don’t lock pinkies, y’know.”
“...fine.” you cheered as baji relented, gently wrapping his pinky around yours. you shook your crossed pinkies and let go, feeling satisfied, (why did that small contact with him make your heart skip a beat?)
“there! and you can beat me up or something if i break it.” you joked, leaning your head back against the wall.
“i’m not gonna beat you up.”
“eh? why not?”
“i don’t hit girls.” he said matter of factly, his tone quite serious. “only assholes hit girls.” you stared at him for a moment, seeing the dead serious look on his face before you smiled, closing your eyes.
“y’know, you’re a pretty stand up guy, baji-kun. i like that about you.” you hadn’t meant to say the last part, but you were hoping he would just ignore it.
“...thanks.” after that, there was a comfortable silence between the two of you, the only light source being the moon. you enjoyed living in tokyo, but if there was one thing you didn’t like, it was the fact that you couldn’t see the stars at all.
“this wall is so uncomfortable…” you muttered, trying to get comfortable enough to sleep again. you’d long since given up on trying to get off the rooftop, so you figured that you might as well get some sleep since you were sure tomorrow was going to be interesting, (you weren’t looking forward to having that conversation with the principal).
abruptly, you felt baji’s arm across your chest, pushing the side of your head to land on his shoulder.
“better?” he asked, seeming to have no reaction.
“uh, yeah…isn’t this uncomfortable for you though?”
“nah.”
“o-okay…” you said hesitantly. if you weren’t so tired, you probably wouldn’t have been able to sleep from how flustered you were right now; after all, you’ve never had a boy offer you his shoulder to sleep on, so why wouldn’t you be flustered?
it definitely wasn’t because it was baji.
definitely not….
it was definitely because it was baji.
˗ˏˋ ☆ ˎˊ˗
bonus:
chifuyu and ryusei both looked down at the sight in front of them, shock filling their bodies.
they’d been worried when baji had skipped the toman meeting yesterday evening, and they had been even more worried when his phone had been switched off, spending the rest of the night trying to find out what happened to him. however, now that they knew what had happened, they were about to burst their seams from laughter.
“pff…do, hah, do we wake them up?” chifuyu whispered, his cell phone out and snapping pictures.
“n-nah, haha, they look pretty cozy…pfff…” ryusei whispered back, his cell phone also out and snapping pictures from every angle.
in front of them was baji and you, your head resting on his shoulder and his head resting on top of your head, dozing off without a care in the world. he had draped his blazer over the both of you as a blanket, and if one didn’t know any better, they might think that the two of you were a couple.
“pff…this is some good blackmail stuff,” ryusei chuckled, exuding a proud aura. “look at toman’s little keisuke, all grown up now and sleeping with his crush! that’s what dreams are made.” chifuyu spluttered at ryusei’s words, a shocked expression on his face.
“baji-san has a crush on (y/n)-san?! isn’t she the student council president?!” he whisper-yelled. ryusei nodded and shrugged.
“the heart wants what the heart wants, or something.”
“both of you, shut the fuck up.”
“eek!”
“gah!”
baji glared at the two boys in front of him, holding up a finger to his lips, telling them to shush.
“what’re you still doin’ here? scram.” they both immediately made a beeline for the door, fearful of baji’s wrath after being woken up from sleep.
baji rubbed his eyes, yawning a bit as he looked around. he’s not sure what time it is, but he’s glad that it was only those two idiots who saw the two of you and nobody else.
we should probably get up and get to class before someone else comes up here.
he turned to the side to wake you up, but he stopped, looking at your sleeping form. he chuckled a bit when he saw your messed up hair, wondering how it got so messed up when the two of you were sleeping sitting up. he leaned back against the wall, staring up at the clouds passing by.
just five more minutes.

————————————————————————
The routine began the same as every night had previously started, following the identical steps to prepare herself before stepping onto the stage.
The brunette hair swirled down, reaching just below her shoulders in perfectly shaped curls. she allowed her eyes to glance at herself in the mirror, the bright spotlights shooting towards her face, enhancing her facial features so beautifully it would put any person into a trance. the silver eyeshadow has been carefully placed in the corner of her eyelids, the glistening effect causing her sapphire eyes to become bolder, brighter. As she admired herself one last time, she was able to reminisce the events that led up to this, how her talent was able to become known, and the people who cherished her along the journey.
She originally attempted to boost her career by busking, sitting on a stool in the Spanish humidity, singing the songs that she hoped would attract the most attention from the public, eventually persuading them to drop a mere euro into the bucket below. To most people, this would appear to be a normal method to try and get funding which could help increase her popularity, but to the determined singer and her family, she looked like a pathetic charity case.
‘You can’t continue with this, hija.’ her mother would constantly remind her, her dream was just a fantasy she created, unable to ever truly become the reality she longed for.
‘It can go on no longer. we’ll help you get a stable job.’ her father agreed, once again the truth that she was failing hitting like a bullet, leaving a wound that would slowly shatter her confidence.
‘Just one last day, please papá.’ she begged, she needed one last try, a song to say goodbye to the dream that she imagined when she was a child, the commitment she gave needed to be for something, it had to be.
————————————————————————
Similarly to every other session, she placed the empty bucket beside her while she set up the equipment. The streets in Madrid were always busy, bustling with a mixture of both locals and tourists. And like all the other days, she began to sing, a tiny beacon of hope still fighting in her heart, that she will be noticed.
Two hours went by, and the usual process happened, euros gifted to her by a range of people, even a young toddler waddled over to drop a few pennies into the bucket below. This was finally the end, she thought to herself. She sighed, admitting she needed a break before continuing once again, placing the equipment back into her backpack before slouching onto a nearby park bench.
‘You’re the singer, no?’ A voice asked from beside her, turning to face the stranger who somehow recognised her. His dark hair slightly blowing across his face from the gentle breeze, covering small areas of his features. Although, they struggled to hide the large chocolate coloured eyes smiling towards her, leaving the girl almost mesmerised.
‘Yeah! Well, I busk nearby.’ She confirmed, her grin growing at the realisation she had eventually been recognised for her abilities, the man’s lips beaming wider at the answer.
‘Are you available friday?’ he queried, the girl’s eyes widening in shock at the question. was he about to ask her to sing at a venue?
‘Uh..’ she panicked, her whole body buzzing with excitement, ‘definitely! i’m not busy at all on friday!’
‘Great! I’ve got a few friends coming to this event later this week and our singer decided to get food poisoning and cancel. I’ll give you my number and send you the rest of the details.’ He further explained, reaching out of his pocket to grab a notebook, ripping a small tear out of a page. ‘You got a pen?’
‘Yeah!’ she rummaged through her backpack and handed him the pen, her voice unable to contain the positive emotions overwhelming her, seeming a bit too enthusiastic to give him some basic stationery.
‘Here.’ he passed her the tiny sheet which she also placed inside her bag. ‘I’m Carlos.’ he introduced himself, reaching out his hand, the new view of his arms highlighting the prominent veins, despite mainly being covered in body hair.
‘Maddison.’ She grabbed his hand back, shaking it as she stared directly at the man, a mixture of both delight that she can now sing somewhere that isn’t 20+ degrees in the outdoor heat, but also that she had met Carlos…
————————————————————————
Is this Carlos?
Yes! Please be at this address at 7pm. I’ll see you soon 😊
————————————————————————
When she arrived, the immediate elegance of the building shocked her. It seemed like she had been transported to the victorian era, contrasting the usual settings she had been accustomed to previously.
She inhaled a large gasp of the oxygen outside, trying to control her breathing rate and calm down the nervous butterflies that fluttered around her stomach.
She hesitantly stepped inside of the venue, but became immediately mesmerised by the luxurious decorations that covered the room. It was truly something she had never seen before.
“You’re here.” The familiar accent greeted her once again, her eyes shifting to see Carlos, dressed in a dark suit that appeared more expensive than what the girl had in her whole bank account, feeling almost humiliated by the dress she had slipped on in an attempt to blend in with the crowd. “You look-” He began.
“I know… I’m sorry it’s one of the only dresses-” she apologised, already believing she had ruined a part of the night.
“You look stunning, Maddison.” He interrupted, finally finishing his sentence, admiring the girl standing before him, the unexpected compliment causing her cheeks to flush into a vibrant red shade. “I’ll take you to the stage.” Carlos added, indicating for the singer to follow him, which she easily complied.
“Is there anything specific you want me to sing?” She questioned, unsure on what the routine was for the night.
‘Just sing the songs you like, not always just the popular ones, but the songs you’re confident with.’
‘Got it.’ She smiled; she was now able to play the music that matched her tone perfectly rather than adapting. The contagious expression she wore reflected onto Carlos’ face, before he stepped closer to the girl, leaning in towards her ear.
‘I’m sure that anything you sing will be amazing, cariño.’ He murmured softly, backing away and leaving to allow her to set up the equipment desired for the upcoming performance.
The celebrations continued throughout the night, all the guests pleasantly entertained, she didn’t know much about the reasoning behind the event, but narrowed it down to being a birthday party.
After further confirming that the microphone was functioning correctly, she adjusted the stand to her height, placing the device into the slot as she started to introduce her act to the audience.
‘Hi everyone!’ She spoke, all eyes in the room now focused on the girl standing on the stage. “I’m Maddison and I’ve been asked to perform some songs for you all. This one I will sing is currently one of my favourites!’ She finished, shifting from talking to singing as the speaker began to play a melody.
The music differed to the usual tunes she sung while busking, the more tranquil genre suiting her voice almost perfectly, allowing her to stay comfortable while the whole crowd stared. However the only person she truly focused on was Carlos, his chocolate eyes glistening towards her like he was enthralled not just by the singer’s talent, but also by her immense beauty. The man couldn’t comprehend the reasons why he felt such ways for someone he had approached on the street just earlier this week, all he could do is watch in mesmerisation, cherishing the moment.
————————————————————————
At the end of the night, only a few were still gathered at the party, mostly waving their goodbyes; however, the singer and Carlos being a part of that small group.
When she finished her act, the man waited patiently nearby the stage as she packed away her equipment, desperate to just see her once more, even if it was the couple glasses of alcohol he sipped previously influencing these thoughts, the girl remaining unaware of his presence.
‘Your singing was so beautiful.’ He perked up, catching the attention of the girl as she swiftly turned her head around to face him.
‘Carlos, you’re still here?’ her eyes widened, shocked that he had remained at the event for such a long period of time. ‘I thought you would’ve left already.’
‘Never.’ He stepped closer, standing tall above her, just a few inches away from her face, his brain practically entranced by her beauty, he didn’t care anymore, at this moment all he craved was her, everything about her. ‘I needed to see you again Maddison.’ His voice softening as he approached further towards the singer, his hands moving upwards to gently caress her cheek. Despite the strength the man’s hands appeared, his touch seemed so gentle and loving.
‘Carlos.’ Her breath hitched at the sudden action, hundreds of questions overwhelming her mind. Why did he want her? Is he drunk? Does he know what he is doing? Why did she want him to kiss her so badly?
‘Say it, please cariño.’ The beseech escaped as almost a murmur, praying that she had heard the sentence, his vision purely focusing on the singer’s plumped lips.
‘Kiss me, Carlos.’ She pleased, immediately being met with the man’s lips smashed onto hers, bringing her into a passionate kiss. Her wish was his command. His tongue entered her mouth as the touch became slightly rougher, grasping onto her cheek tighter but still somehow keeping that caring feeling.
‘Not here.’ She pulled away from the connection, placing the hand that was originally situated on her cheek down towards her own palm, signalling for him to hold it. ‘You don’t want an audience now do you?’ The singer lifted onto the tips of her feet to whisper into his ear, lust clearly visible in her throat.
‘You’re right querida.’ He agreed, a smirk slowly forming on his mouth, ‘I’m the only one who deserves to see you naked, desperate for my cock.’ The words leaving his lips making the girl’s thighs warmer, closing them together to release the pressure that was craving something, craving Carlos.
Eagerly, she followed Carlos away from the grand atmosphere, the room shrinking into a narrow hallway before the man reached their desired destination, twisting the doorknob to reveal the bathroom that still remained as elegant as the rest of the building.
Instantly entering, their lips joined together once again, the girl’s body slammed against the counter nearby the sink while Carlos sped up the pace of their kisses, becoming desperate and sloppy, but she definitely wasn’t complaining.
His tongue continued its attack, although separating from her lips, travelling downwards to her clear neck, the man excited to paint his canvas with marks that will leave large bruises.
As he sucked onto the clear skin, the girl couldn’t help but let high- pitched moans crawl out of her throat, not caring about the red, stinging stains appearing, just praying for this sensation to continue forever.
‘This dress is so pretty on you, ángel.’ Carlos smirked, his fingertips brushing against the slim straps on the one-piece, ‘But you’ll look much better with this all off.’ He looked up at the girl for confirmation to continue, which she eagerly nodded in consent as he slid the fabric down her shoulders, slowly removing the clothing in an attempt to tease her. He refused to break eye contact as the silk dropped down to her thighs, revealing the lacy bra underneath, which he also unclipped to uncover her breasts.
‘I need you, Carlos.’ She pleaded, impatience prominent in her voice as the light strokes made her whole body shiver with lust. ‘I need you in me.’
‘Steady cariño.’ He giggle consumed with mischief, ‘Gonna have some fun with you first.’ He planted sloppy kisses trailing from her collarbone downwards towards the lower area of her chest, the crumpled fabric preventing the man moving any further. ‘Can I?’
‘Yes, please.’ She answered, the material rubbing down her legs as she was left almost naked, just a small piece of dampened lace covering her vagina.
‘Mierda.’ He murmured the curse at the sight of her dripping pussy. ‘You’re already that wet for me, bet you’re gonna taste so good.’ His warm breathed pressed near her entrance, leaving a tickling feeling that only made the girl ache for the man even more.
His mouth began to press against her lips, swirling his tongue around areas of her clit, causing inaudible sounds to slip out of the girl’s mouth.
‘Carlos.-’ Was the only word she could muster, unable to focus while the man licked against her walls, her legs beginning to tremble due to the immense pleasure.
‘Dios, you sound so beautiful saying my name.’ He complimented, still working at her pussy, the visible muscles in the neck twitching, only allowing her to become even more aroused of the thought of his defined body. ‘Are you gonna cum for me, princesa?’
The question finally pushed her to the edge, her eyes rolling to the back of her head, allowing the release, gripping tightly on the marble countertops she lay on for support as the liquid leaked out. However, it was quickly being cleaned up Carlos.
‘I knew it, you taste perfect.’ He chuckled, enjoying the meal before him, ‘Can’t wait to get me inside you now, is that okay?’ He looked upwards at the girl, her eyes now fuzzier and makeup smudged.
‘Please Carlos, I need to see you.’ she begged, placing her hand against his shirt, her fingertips pathing their way towards the top button, undoing each button carefully, similarly to the teasing the man had used previously.
‘Like what you see?’ He snickered as she stared in awe at the exposed abs and thick body hair. Continuing, he swiftly unbuckled his belt, slipping his trousers off and tossing them nearby her already removed dress. The man stood now only in his boxers, his bulge noticeable.
He proceeded undressing, the duo both now fully naked, however the room still stayed warm from their lust that circled the atmosphere.
‘You ready?’ Carlos asked, waiting for the confirmation from the girl as he approached, moving his dick nearby her hole.
‘Yes, fuck me Carlos.’ She pleaded, immediately greeted with his cock filling her up, a loud moan escaping from her lips. ‘Oh my god.’ She gasped, shocked by how truly large he was.
‘Mierda, Mads.’ He groaned at the tight sensation, nobody had ever made him feel like this before, almost as if she was the perfect piece to finish the jigsaw, ‘You make me feel so good, hermosa.’ As he increased the pace, the pleasurable screams grew louder. Fortunately, there was most likely not a soul left in the building, allowing more freedom.
‘I’m gonna cum again, I can’t hold on any longer.’ She whined, the thrusting from Carlos turning all the muscles in her body numb, desperate to release the pressure.
‘We’ll do it together, cariño.’ He suggested, preparing for a countdown so they can both relieve themselves together. ‘1, 2, 3.’ Instantly after, they both moaned in sync, their bodies vibrating as they spilled their warmth into each other, connecting together in more than one way.
‘Are you okay, princesa?’ Carlos pulled out of her, his hand carefully caressing her cheek that glowed with vibrance. Her now tangled hair flowed down her face, slightly hiding some features, but he could still spot her beauty.
‘Perfect, especially now I’m with you.’ The girl giggled.
————————————————————————
Despite that moment being so long ago, the memories are still imprinted in her brain, remembering every detail, including every detail of him.
‘Are you okay? princesa?’ Her fiancé wrapped his arms around the singer’s waist, nuzzling his head softly into the crevice of her neck. ‘No before- stages nerves?’
‘Don’t worry Carlos.’ She reassured, the stage didn’t frighten her so much anymore, confidently able to stand before a large audience. ‘I’m perfect, especially now I’m with you.’ She spoke, and a flash of deja vu sent her back once again, to that Friday night, to the man eager to find a replacement singer, to Carlos.
HOPE YOU ENJOYED <3

Your first meeting wasn't much to talk about, other than the fact that Senku's pinned you as a little oddball. He still remembers your head just barely peeking into the empty room, flinching the moment you spotted him.
"Do you, uh, happen to know where the science club president is...?" A timid type, he sees. "That would be me. Anything you need?"
"Oh, uh, just my form."
"Ah, the membership form," pulling off his gloves, he approaches. When you hand it over, his eyes skim over it. "Ah, a junior." He folds the paper, smirking. "Well aren't you eager. Weren't these just passed out today?"
A little tense, you rub your arm. "Ah, yeah. I just, wanted to get a spot, I guess."
He assumed you would've been a more quiet member, working off on the side with your own little experiments. Which, you were, at first. Tinkering with microscope and the like.
"Radiation?" he queries, which makes you jolt. You hadn't noticed him. Following his gaze, you see that he's checking out your notes.
"Uhm, yes. It's just for my research..." you mumble, pulling away from the microscope.
"I see. Into atomics, ey?" Chuckling, he turns to walk back to his own project. "School materials aren't quality enough for that kind of science, junior."
You rub your arm. "Well... I'm only studying about it now.. I'm not ready for experimenting until I know everything about it."
His lips quirked slightly, "Smart. Good plan."
Since then, he's always been aware of that constant student by the club room's window. In her own world, barely talking if unneeded. Of course, Senku wasn't dumb. Based on his observance, you've always been stiff around him, or the guys who even so much as breathe near you. Odd behavior, but it doesn't hinder you, or others, so, he leaves it alone.
When you started approaching him more, he didn't mind.
"Senior, since you know more about this, I wanted to ask if you could teach me...?"
"Senior, here, I'll help."
"Senior, I just wanted to ask if I could conduct this experiment in the lab?"
It wasn't really anything strange for him. In fact, he thought it was great improvement. He encouraged it, even.
And so, here you were, clutching the wrapped bento in your sweaty hands. It was just you and him again, with the others so eager the moment the bell rang.
"I'm going for a drink," he breaks the silence, taking off his safety gear. At this, you jump for the chance.
"Wa- Senior, wait!"
He pauses, looking at you. "Hm?"
With the weight of his eyes on you, your heart beats a little faster in nervousness. This was nervewracking, you were starting to regret it a little. However...
'Come on. It's now or never. You know how busy he always is.'
"I notice you usually spend lunch in the clubroom... So..."
You hold it out to him, shakily. Too nervous, you look elsewhere, too scared to look at his face.
It was quiet. For a little while. But every second for you felt like an eternity.
Senku chuckles. Caught off guard, you look up.
"You got a crush on me or something, junior?" he jests, running a hand through his hair. And you, simply, erupt into a vivid scarlet.
"N-No!" You fluster, gesturing wildly. "I just, I thought you'd want some lunch, cuz I see you everydayandmaybeyou-"
"Calm down, it was just a question."
You hang your head once more in embarrassment.
"But," he says,
"I appreciate it."
His smile is soft, and voice placid, all of a sudden. The light from the window only highlights it, only giving the empty room a bright glow. This felt like some kind of shoujo moment.
It shocked you a little. Knowing his personality, you expected obvious discomfort, maybe even a harsh rejection. You're snapped out of your thoughts when he's already turned for the door, bento taken.
Your eyes linger on the door that slides close.
Yeah. Maybe you do have a crush on him.

As you continued to prepare drinks for the eager patrons, your hands grew weary, but there was no time for rest. This was no ordinary night; Derek Danforth, the wealthy and notorious playboy had decided to splurge on a round of drinks for the entire club. Glancing at the impeccably dressed man with blonde highlights, his fishnet shirt adorned with sparkling diamonds, and a black coat was surrounded by an entourage of stunning models. You couldn't help but let out a wry chuckle. Just another night at the club, you thought to yourself.
When you tried to get back to your work, your gaze quickly met his hazel eyes. Derek flashed you a dazzling smile, and in the blink of an eye, he appeared right in front of you, leaning casually against the counter.
Derek scanned the menu above you with a confident air before turning to face you once more, his smile unchanged. "Let me get a 'Kiss On The Lips,' please."
The unexpected request caught you off guard, but you tried to hide your surprise. With a deep breath, you regained your composure and replied, the corner of your lips raising lightly.
"That's going to cost ya."
Raising an eyebrow, Derek slid onto a nearby stool, his gaze locked on yours as he queried, "How much?"
You leaned against the counter and without missing a beat you responded. "Fifty bucks."
His eyes widened slightly, seemingly surprised by your bold response. "For a drink?"
Surprised by his reaction, you couldn't resist the urge to chuckle at his expense. "Oh, it's a drink?! I must admit, I've never heard of that one before." The corner of your mouth curved into a playful grin as you watched him burst into laughter, the sound echoing throughout the bustling club.
Recovering from his fit of giggles, Derek shook his head, still chuckling softly. "You thought I meant..." he trailed off, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
With a wink, you retorted, "Yeah, sorry. I should've known better, seeing as how you have a certain... type." Your attention shifted towards the VIP section where the models were dancing and sipping their drinks, unable to hide your amusement at the sight.
Derek raised an eyebrow, his expression turned more serious despite the lingering twinkle in his eyes. "What are you implying?"
You got closer, your eyes scanning the new sight of him. "I mean, I'm not a model." You shrugged, chuckling as your clothes clung tight to your curvy body from the hot atmosphere of the bar, a sight that wouldn’t go unnoticed by Derek.
He bit his rosy lips and stared at your form longer than intended. "Are you kidding? You're way past attractive,"
"Hey, wow, I never said I wasn't," you returned, flashing a proud grin in return. "But you prefer models."
Derek's hazel eyes flickered over you, appraisingly, before he responded, "There are models your size. And bigger." A faint smile played on his lips as he subtly traced his fingers along the contours of your hand, his touch both teasing and intimate.
"You'd make a good one, actually...and your hands are quite beautiful too," With a sense of reverence, he delicately traced the lines of your fingers, drawing out each touch as if savoring every moment.
"You'd make a great hand model as well..." His voice trailed off, lost in thoughts of your nimble fingers exploring his body, teasing and pleasuring him in ways that left him wanting.
You rolled your eyes at his flattery, trying to keep things professional. "All that charm won't get you a free drink." You attempted to maintain a stern facade, but the heat in your cheeks gave away your true feelings.
Derek's eyes twinkled with mischief as he proposed, his voice velvety smooth, "How about this? If you give me a 'kiss on the lips' after I finish my drink, you'll reward me with another kiss for being such a 'good boy.' And then..." His fingertips trailed along your knuckles, making your knees weak. "I take you to the dance floor and then, we finish the day off with you taking me home?"
You stood there, processing his words, uncertainty clouding your thoughts. Was he truly serious about this proposition? But the way his eyes lingered on you, tracing your form, and the subtle hint of pink in his cheeks left no doubt. Derek was dead serious.
You nodded in agreement, focusing on preparing the drink while avoiding eye contact. Your hands trembled slightly, a mix of nervousness and excitement causing your pulse to race. Derek's proposition was bold, and you found yourself torn between curiosity and caution.
He snickered, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Why so shy now? I don't bite." He smiled innocently, but the promise in his voice was anything but innocent. "Unless you want me to."
He winked a sly challenge hanging in the air as he patiently waited for his drink. You couldn't help but feel drawn to him, the allure of danger and passion swirling around him like a magnetic force.
As soon as you finished mixing the concoction, Derek took a sip, his full lips moving sensuously around the rim of the glass. You found yourself mesmerized by the sight, eager for the promise of his next kiss.
When Derek finally set the empty glass aside, you leaned in close, your heart pounding in your chest as the electricity between you reached a fever pitch. His lips were warm and inviting, urging you to lose yourself in the moment. The kiss deepened,  sparks flying as tongues intertwined.
Breathless and panting from the intensity, you reluctantly pulled away, gazes locked on each other, admiring their mutual disheveled image. Derek's eyes danced with lust as he whispered hoarsely, "Now, can I take you to dance?"
You hesitated for a moment, the thrill of the unknown coursing through your veins. Nodding, you allowed yourself to be swept away by the music, joining Derek on the dance floor. The pulsing beats fueled your passion, and you found yourself lost in the sensuality of the moment.
His strong arms wrapped around you, pressing your body tightly against his. The heat of his touch sent waves of desire through you, and you couldn't help but notice the evidence of his desire pressed against your rear.
You teased him gently, your voice dripping with flirtation. "Having fun?"
Derek's response was a low murmur, filled with unbridled hunger that made your heart race. "Oh, you have no idea," he whispered, his left hand resting possessively on your hip while his right hand gripped your ass cheek, drawing you even closer.
As the night wore on and the club began to wind down, Derek's eyes darkened with desire as he looked at you, the longing in his gaze unmistakable. He ran his hand through his hair, a nervous gesture that belied his usual confidence.
"Let's go to your place," he suggested, hastily shrugging on his black coat. You raised an eyebrow, aware of the stark contrast between your humble apartment and his lavish estate.
"Why not yours?" you asked curiously, wondering why he chose your home over his.
Derek's expression softened, a hint of sadness flickering in his eyes before disappearing as quickly as it came. "It'll be nice to be somewhere else that isn't home..." he murmured, his voice tinged with melancholy that piqued your interest.
Before you could probe further, he gently lifted your chin, his fingers firm yet tender. "Let's go," he whispered, his breath warm against your skin. There was a sense of urgency in his voice, a need that spoke volumes about his desire for you. "I can't wait much longer."
…
"Mmh... oh, fuck!" Derek exclaimed, his voice barely above a whisper as he ravaged your lips in a desperate kiss. As soon as you opened the door to your apartment, he wasted no time unbuttoning your uniform, his hands trembling with anticipation. The intensity of his kiss left you breathless, struggling to catch your breath.
"Where?" he asked between frantic kisses, his eyes searching for guidance in the dimly lit room.
You managed to point towards the bedroom, your voice barely audible above the sound of his lips crashing on yours. Satisfied with your answer, Derek continued to kiss you with reckless abandon, guiding your body toward the room with a sense of urgency that bordered on desperation.
Finally, he threw you gently onto the bed, landing on top of you with a primal need that left you gasping for air. The weight of his body pressed against yours, and you could feel the evidence of his desire through his pants.
His trembling lips trailed down to your neck, nuzzling the sensitive skin as he discarded the long-sleeved shirt you wore. His hands roamed over your body, and you felt a surge of excitement and anticipation that left you breathless. Through his groans and the hickeys he left behind, you could just make out the words, "You smell so good."
As you ran your fingers through his curls, you watched Derek's reaction, his body melting under your touch. It wasn't until you tightened your grip slightly that he reacted, releasing a guttural moan that shook his entire frame. Surprise and confusion crossed his features, his dilated pupils fixated on your face.
Without warning, Derek's skilled fingers worked their way across your zipper, swiftly undoing it. Gasps escaped your lips as he did the same with his clothing, revealing his arousal beneath.
"Can you face fuck me?" he demanded abruptly, his eyes locking onto yours. The change in his tone was unmistakable; this wasn't a request for permission but a claim of what he desired.
Surprised by the sudden shift, you stammered, "What?" before realizing the implications of his words. Before you could protest further, he peeled away the rest of your clothing, revealing your naked form beneath.
"You're lucky," he whispered hoarsely, his voice tinged with a husky timbre. "I'm usually the one doing the face fucking, not the other way around... but,”
He parted your legs, his eyes gleaming with forbidden hunger. His eyes locked with yours, filled with raw desire and a promise of pleasure yet to come.
“I want to be choked between your thighs as I taste you."
His eyes locked with yours, and you felt a wave of desire wash over you, catching your breath in your throat. There was a mix of shock and excitement at his request, but the allure of his suggestion was impossible to deny. Nodding in agreement, you encouraged him to proceed, curiosity getting the best of you.
Derek's eyes darkened, and you felt a deep sense of intimacy as his gaze never left yours while he positioned himself between your legs. His lips gently grazed your skin, sending shivers down your spine. As his talented tongue began to explore, each delicate flick and swipe, created a sensation that was unlike anything you'd ever experienced.
The tips of his fingers lightly brushed against the throbbing between your legs, eliciting gasps from you. His rhythm was steady, yet passionate, his tongue delving deeper, coaxing you higher and higher with each pass. Your breath became uneven, mingling with the sounds of his eager exploration.
As the intensity built within you, so did the connection between you two. You could feel Derek's focus solely on pleasing you, the lovemaking becoming a dance of sorts, a beautiful exchange of pleasure and desire. Each lick, suckle, and nibble drove you wilder, your body arching in response.
you reached out and ran your fingers through his hair, holding him in place with a firm grip. Your moans grew louder and more intense, and your thighs instinctively wrapped around him, pulling his head closer, and urging him to delve deeper into the forbidden territory. Your fingers dug into his curls, silently begging him to continue as the pleasure built within you.
Derek moaned loudly, his arousal growing with every sound you made. Wrapping his arms around your thighs, he pulled you closer, positioning himself perfectly between your legs. His tongue darted and swirled, sending waves of pleasure coursing through your body like wildfire.
Derek tapped your thighs, signaling the need for air. Reluctantly, you released him, your eyes drawn to the mixture of fluids and saliva coating his mouth and chin. There was something undeniably erotic about the sight, its raw nature turning you on even more.
He panted heavily as he commanded, "Get on fours." Without protest, you complied, laying your stomach flat on the bed while your legs dangling off the side. The vulnerability you felt only added to the excitement building within you.
Derek admired the view from behind, his eyes tracing the curves of your body. "So big..." he murmured, biting his lip in anticipation. His large hands smacked your ass, the stinging sensation leaving a clear mark on your skin. Each strike was deliberate, designed to heighten your arousal even further.
He admired the sight of his length disappearing between your rounded behind, and you could tell he was struggling to maintain control. A low, pained whimper escaped him, the sound raw and genuine. It seemed as though he'd been yearning for this moment since the very first time he'd laid eyes on you at the bar.
With renewed vigor, Derek began thrusting, his movements fierce and unrestrained. "God," he breathed out the words, the phrase echoing in your ears. "I can't get enough of you," he said, his nails digging into your love handles as a testament to his desire and the intensity of the moment.
The room was now filled with the sounds of skin slapping against each other, a symphony of uncontrolled whimpers, and your hungry moans.
"Don't hold back, let me hear you, baby," Derek panted, his voice barely above a whisper. His words were a command, an invitation to let loose and give yourself to the pleasure completely. As he sank even deeper inside you, your body convulsed, the intensity growing with each thrust.
You countered his statement with a smirk, "You can do better than that," your words laced with challenge, goading him further into the realm of pleasure.
Chuckling, Derek responded, "Is that so?" His smirk only grew wider. "Fine. Hands behind your back." He quickly seized your wrists, guiding them into place and holding them firmly. With each thrust, he increased the force, his body moving in a cadence that pushed you to the brink of madness.
"Louder," he commanded, his voice taking on a different tone when he whispered your name, tinged with a hint of neediness. The demand was evident in the tone of his voice, and you knew that obeying would only fuel the fire raging between you both.
"Let me hear you," he insisted, his authority unmistakable. Your body trembled, anticipation building with each word and thrust.
You cried out in pure pleasure, your voice echoing through the room as Derek's thrusts became more forceful. His command had pushed you beyond any limits you thought existed, driving you to new heights of ecstasy. Your body writhed beneath him, your moans filling the space as he continued to dominate you in every sense of the word.
The tension built, each second drawing you closer to your climax. With each thrust, your ecstasy grew, coupled with the knowledge that Derek's release was near. He leaned forward, pressing his lips to your ear, the heat of his breath mingling with yours.
His voice was a rough, desperate growl as he declared, "I bet all our neighbors can hear you, I bet they all know what a dirty little slut you are." The words were tinged with pride and possession, his grip tightening on your wrists as if to emphasize his claim.
You giggled despite yourself, the playfulness in your voice belied the intensity of the situation. "I bet they can hear you too."
"How can't they?" Derek retorted, his eyes gleaming with devilish delight. With a resounding slap, he struck your ass, the sting only adding to the pleasure. "If I'm fucking this sweet thing of yours."
He paused, admiring the sight before him. Tracing his hand along your ass, he marveled at the hickeys on your neck and the marks covering your body. "You're already hot, but you look even hotter with my marks all over you." The admission was equal parts tender and possessive, a testament to his need for dominance and control.
You began to sway your hips in tandem with his thrusts, your movements teasing his length with every motion. Derek groaned loudly, his body tense with anticipation. His eyes remained glued to the sight unfolding before him.
"Oh, yeah," he muttered, his eyes glued to the sight. "Thrust against my cock." His voice was a plea, a silent command that you couldn't ignore. With a wicked smile, you obliged, matching his movements with your own. Each thrust sent waves of pleasure coursing through both of you, the rhythm intensifying as you fed off each other's energy.
Derek bit his lip, his eyes gleaming with lust as he watched the spectacle unfold. The room was alive with the sounds of your bodies connecting, the evidence of your passion on full display for anyone with the courage to peek inside.
Time seemed to slow down, each moment stretching into eternity as you lost yourself in the dance of flesh and desire. The world outside faded away, leaving only the two of you to revel in your primal connection. As you moved together, Derek's hands traced the marks he'd left on your body, a visual testament to the night you shared.
After several minutes of intense passion, Derek found his release, burying himself deep within you as warmth flooded your core. His body shook, his breaths becoming ragged as he sought to regain control. He continued to thrust, prolonging the sensation until you too reached your peak. Together, you rode the waves of pleasure, surrendering to the power of your connection.
Once spent, you both collapsed on the bed, your bodies sticky and slick with sweat and passion. Derek's head fell onto your thighs, the same limbs that had choked him moments earlier. His breaths were shallow, his heartbeat slowing down to a normal rhythm. He pressed a gentle kiss to your skin, the gesture charged with meaning and gratitude.
Contentment washed over both of you as you lay there, catching your breath. His lips curved into a satisfied smile, his eyes filled with affection. He offered a soft yet meaningful remark, "This feels nice."
With a smile, you continued to caress his hair, enjoying the quiet moment of intimacy that followed the frenzy of desire. Your fingers ran through his locks, a soothing gesture that spoke volumes about the connection you shared.

Prettier With You - Lando Norris
Tumblr media
<word count - 1141>
It was another early morning that you were going to spend by yourself. Race weekends were simultaneously your favourite days as well as your worst. You got to see Lando doing what he did best, but it also meant he was away from home.
This was one of the weekends that you weren't able to join him in the wonderous country he was racing in. As you did every morning (every evening for Lando), you rolled out of bed and sat on the balcony.
You could see the sun just poking over the horizon, the orange glow that followed was drifting up into the sky like a haze. You took a moment to take it in, before you pulled your phone out of your pocket and found Lando's contact, which was at the top of your 'last dialled' list.
After a few shrill rings, you were met with a "Hey, baby. How are you doing?" from the love of your life. "I'm good, I'm good. The sun rise is really pretty over here," you smiled, looking to the side as if he were sat right next to you.
"The sunset is really pretty over here," he told you, the thought that you were both looking at the exact same scene, thousands of miles apart made his heart flutter. Even if you weren't with him, there was always a piece of you with him wherever he went.
"The sky is all orange, and it's like it's glowing," you told him, your hand tracing mindless circles on your thigh like Lando would normally do. "It's just like that here, the view from my room is great. Not quite the same as from our balcony, but it's still nice," he nodded.
Instinctively, he turned to his side, the empty space forming into you, the sun glowing golden on your face and highlighting your features. It was at this point you'd normally lean into him as he wrapped an arm around your shoulder, kissing your head.
He loved the way the light kissed your skin, lighting your face up and your eyes were practically illuminated. "Hey, you there?" you asked after not receiving a response from him to an earlier statement. "Yeah, yeah, sorry. I was just thinking," he chuckled.
"About what?" you queried.
"I just wish you were here, with me, and we could watch the sunset together. Or the sunrise, either is fine," he sighed, leaning against the rails of the balcony outside his hotel room. You felt the same, longing to be with him. "When you get home, we can get up every morning and stay up every night to see it,"
"Yeah, I like that idea," he said, and both of you fell quiet as both of your eyes settled back on the sun. A lot of people like to think that they could see the moon at the same time when they were apart, both of them sitting under the same starry sky.
For the two of you, you liked knowing that you were both lit up by the same beacon of vermillion in the sky, its rays of warmth wrapping you up and smothering you when the other couldn't. "You know, this is really pretty, but it'd be prettier with you," he broke the short silence.
"Mhm," you managed to hum out, his comment making tears prick at the back of your eyes. It hit something in your heart, something that triggered a great feeling of loneliness and melancholy. You were used to him being gone a lot, but you just missed him that extra bit more right now.
This was one of those times you were supposed to spend together, not thousands of miles apart. The chair next to you was empty, when it was supposed to be filled. His side of the bed was vacant, when it was supposed to be slept in. Your hand was left loose, when it was supposed to be held.
"You OK?" he asked, his tone turning concerned.
"Yeah, course. I'm fine," you said, your voice cracking slightly as you wiped away the tears that had started to slip down your cheeks. "Baby, come on, what's wrong. There's no point in lying to me," he said, and you sighed in defeat.
"I just-" you started, as a higher volume of tears fell from your eyes, "I just really miss you. I mean, I always miss you, but right now I really miss you," you sniffled, trying to ignore the burn in your throat.
"Please don't cry, baby, I know, it's hard. I wish you could come everywhere with me," he said to you, trying to hold the tears back too. If he could have gotten on a plane and flown home to you right then and there, then he would have. "I will be home in two days, that's all we have to wait," he said, trying to make you feel better.
"But I want you now..." you whispered, so quietly he had to stop breathing to hear it. Your voice was delicate as a feather, light enough to be dropped with one blow. "I know, I get it. I want you now as well," he said, pulling his phone back from his ear to see you as his home screen.
It was a picture he had taken the first time you had watched the sunset together. You were coloured in crimson, and it was a candid shot of you laughing at something he had said. He could hear your giggles, and he could feel your presence beside him.
He closed his eyes for a moment and pictured you there, hearing the sweet sounds of your voice reverberating around the space. For that moment, the world was at peace. Nothing could possibly interrupt the heavenly bliss of the daydream he was having.
You were both at home, and you had each other. "I guess we just have to wait," you sniffled, staring as the sun was nearly fully over the horizon. "I guess we do," he agreed, watching as the last remnants of light disappeared over the skyline, the moon taking its place as the light in the sky.
It was day and night, sun and moon, light and dark. Two opposites that perfectly attracted one another. Two stark differences that were magnetically drawn to the other. But that wasn't how it was supposed to be.
It was meant to be the sun and the clouds, or the moon and the stars. One or the other. Not both. "I love you Lando, you know that?" you asked, your aching heart needing to hear it as if it were a painkiller that could temporarily soothe the pain.
"I know baby, I love you too," he smiled, a few tears slipping onto his cheeks. It wouldn't be so long until you saw each other, but every second that ticked by made the wait more agonizing.
A/N - So, thank you to the lovely @pinkswaet for the idea, I really appreciate it! At the moment, I am working on all of my requests and part 2s that I have promised you at some point, so then I don't have any loose ends and can carry on posting new stuff without stressing about the old stuff. If you have any requests, please do submit them, they are my favourite things to write. If you have already made a request, it is on the way! Love you all 💖💖

Transcript
Catie: Do you think the henchmen need to unionize?
Cato: actually….if they HAVE to, but, I don’t think they-
Ed barges into the door with a BAM and angry footsteps
Edward: YOU TWO HAVE DONE IT THIS TIME!!
Catie and Cato: wait what?-
Edward: you’re going to explain to me why you’ve been in the Rogues! The Podcast fandom for HOW LONG and yet you NEVER talk about me even though I’m the main character!
Catie: have you like actually seen my content? I talk about you like exclusively
Edward: (sticks his hand up to silence Catie) Oh we all know what happened to your “content” while you were in England.
Edward: AND YOU…you’re a TRAITOR! You wear that symbol and color with SHAME!
Cato: Pink and Green are complementary colors, I have a brand to keep up with.
Edward: That is NOT an excuse. The idea that you are that good at drawing Jonathan Crane is vile. And now…you’re going to make it up to me.
Cato and Catie: Wait what? (Huh?)
Edward: You are going to tell ME about the spectacular, well thought out plan YOU have CREATED. To apologize to ME for your atrocious lack of Riddler themed content
Edward: So what is it?? What’s that great master plan of yours? I’m listening and awaiting an answer.
Cato and Catie fumble a bit as they try to speak on their behalf. This could be improvised between Catie and Cato while recording.
Catie snaps her fingers at a probable solution.
Catie: The Zine!!! We have a zine.
Cato: You are the main character in our upcoming Zine.
Catie: a big art collaboration featuring 36 fantastic artists, all drawing YOUR likeness.
Cato: including an exclusive interview with-
Edward: wow! Don’t care, tell me the parts about ME.
Cato: well… It features many illustrations, writings, and Comics from various moments from the hit ‘ROGUES! The Podcast’
Catie: it features mainly you, and plenty of background characters such as Jonathan Crane, Oswald Cobblepot, Laura Cameron, Query and Echo, and more! But it’s all just for highlighting your existence and greatness as The Riddler.
Edward: …. You’re just kissing my ass aren't you. This zine isn’t just about me! You’re lying!
Catie: Actually statistically you’re featured in 25 pieces while Jonathan Crane for example is only in ____ pieces which is like a ___ difference.
Edward: Do I look like someone who doesn’t know basic arithmetic?
There are some strong knocks on the door
Cato: I’ll get it.
Cato opens the door revealing Jonathan Crane
Jon: Well well well I knew I heard a narcissist and my favorite overreacter! Have any drawings of me yet? You know people go crazy when you draw me (Jon chuckle)
Cato: (forced laughter) HAHAHAHA! I'm gonna go to the other room now.
Catie: (forced laughter) HAHHAHAHAHA. You’re gonna sit down. HAHAHAHAHA
Cato: (forced laughter turns to defeat) OK OK.
Edward: No no! They’re not drawing you! They have a lot of drawings of ME to catch up on since this little Zine project isn’t even centered around me!
Jon: Of course it’s not all about you Ed. It’s Rogues! The fanzine not Riddler! The fanzine
Catie and Cato: that's right!
Catie: it features almost everyone that appears in Rogues! the podcast!
Cato: including iconic scenes from all the seasons and special events like Lockup’s Lockdown and murder in the house of mystery
Captain Boomerang for some reason: am I in it?
Catie and Cato: NO
Edward: You know. This could be a good thing. More people would see how much better I am.
Jon: You are insufferable, you know that right?
Edward: And I’m in more zine pieces than you. That means some people find me charming.
Jon: you two. When is this zine thing out?
Catie: January 31st!
Cato: and it’s free so you don’t have to pay to see it
Edward: Ah, perfect. People don’t even have to pay to see Jon’s ugly mug
Jon: Oh you're funny. That was funny.
Cato: you know what would be funny? If you guys left right now.
Catie: yeah you interrupted Cato’s vampire Jon drawing time
Jon: Vampire Jon?
Edward: And that is our cue to leave! You two need to feature me more!
Catie/Cato: yes sir will do!
Jon and Edward leave
Cato: I’m killing you

fred weasley — serious spells and silly surprises.
amidst the enchanting chaos, there was one constant that fred could always rely on — the steadfast seriousness of you.
fred weasely has seen you laughing once. that was when he and george had put their names in the goblet of fire — as it got backfired and turned them into old men.
as george followed fred's gaze, he couldn't help but notice his brother's dazed expression. it was clear that fred was captivated by something — or rather, someone — across the yard. with a knowing grin, george sidled up to fred and nudged him playfully.
"lost in thoughts, freddie?"
"admiring the view, georgie,"
george chuckles at his twin's response, "aren't you tired of the same view. i mean — the view might look better closer,"
"this is different, mate,"
"care to spill?"
fred glanced at george, his expression shifting from playful to contemplative. "have you ever seen her like that before? it's like she's a different person when she's with her friends."
"well...she seems to be happy," george starts, "look, she's laughing an' gigglin'"
"that's the point, georgie," fred says, "she never laughs or giggles or smiles,"
"oh,"
"yeah,"
"so? what's on your mind now?" george questions.
"there's nothing on my mind,"
"spill or else i've to find out myself,"
"...alright alright, i'll spill,"
fred weasley, also known as someone with zero shame, found no difficulties in approaching you. after the transfiguration class, as you were packing your things, he approached beside you.
"hey," he says, to which you reply with a confused hum. he asks you about your next class, tries making some conversation before he could start something rubbish.
"wanna hear a joke?" he doesnt wait for your response. and with a flourish, fred launched into his best joke, his delivery smooth and confident. as he reached the punchline, he watched your expression intently, waiting for a reaction.
but everything backfires with a simple guesture of yours — in confusion, you tilt your head with query written all over your face. (that expression fred found so so soooo cute, he wished to pinch your cheeks gosh.)
"y/n," one of your friend calls, "we've got potions now. c'mon,'
with a last glance at fred, you swung over your bag over your shoulders as you joined your friends to potion.
fred weasley, also known as someone with zero shame(2). found no difficulties in reaching up to you. he bombarded you with both funny and unfunny jokes, played pranks on draco and filch — to which your response still stayed underwhelming.
as you and ginny walked towards hogsmeade, hand in hand, enjoying the crisp autumn air and the anticipation of a day filled with adventure, you both couldn't shake the feeling of someone watching you two.
turning slightly, you and ginny noticed the mischievous grins of the weasley twins as they caught up to you, their footsteps echoing on the cobblestone path.
"hey there, y/n," george greeted with a grin, while fred flashed you a charming smile.
ginny raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "what's going on? why do you two look like you're up to something?"
george smoothly says, "oh, professor mcgonagall was looking for you, ginny. said it was urgent,"
ginny's eyes widened in surprise. "really? i wonder what it could be about," she questions sarcastically.
without missing a beat, george took ginny's arm and began leading her away, leaving fred standing beside you with a sheepish grin.
"so?" fred beginnings.
"hmn?"
"where were you and ginny up to?"
"butterbeers," you respond.
"great. let's go,"
despite fred's relentless attempts to make you laugh earlier in the day, you found yourself intrigued by his persistent charm.
as you entered the cozy warmth of the pub, the scent of butterbeer and the sound of lively chatter enveloped you, adding to the magical ambiance of the day.
finding a secluded corner table, you and fred settled in, the comfortable silence between you tinged with an unspoken understanding.
but before fred could launch into another round of jokes or anecdotes, you found yourself unable to ignore the nagging feeling that something was off.
"fred,"
"yes?"
"why are you acting so weird lately?"
finally.
fred sighs. that shame finally gets to him as he admits why. why he was acting this way — because how you seemed to be laughing with your friends.
to which you get stunned as you stare sheepishly at him. "fred,"
"hm?"
"my friends used the rictusempra charm on me,"
(the tickling charm — rictusempra — also known as the rictusempra charm, is a spell that causes a victim to buckle with laughter.)
"oh,"
"yeah..."
sighing again, fred slumps back. grabbing his butter beer to a take a big sip. then, to his surprise, fred hears a chuckle, then a lingering laughter.
he looks up at you, seeing you cover your mouth as you laugh. he asks "what?"
"the foam of the butterbeer above your lips looks like you've got a mustache like—" you say in between your laughs, "—like an old man," you struggle to speak with all the laughter coming out of you, "—reminds me of when you and george had put your names in the goblet of fire ahaha!"
as fred realizes that he had successfully made you laugh, a sense of triumph washes over him. it dawns on him that he had accomplished his mission, breaking through the barrier of your seriousness.
"are old people funny to you?" he asks.
"no, just you,"
with a satisfied grin, he leans back in his chair smiling as he looks at you, feeling a newfound sense of accomplishment.
...
"professor mcgonagall didn't call me."

I know I still have room for improvement but i am proud of this one so please enjoyyyy ilyyyy <333
Tumblr media
All you want is a singular moment of peace.
As a Jujutsu High student, moments of peace are hard to come by. You are constantly busy with classes, training, missions, homework, more training - it feels never ending. Any free time you have is taken up by a newly assigned mission or anxiously cramming for the next test. The school takes great care of its students, but there is no avoiding the truth of the matter - being a Jujutsu sorcerer is not just a career or a side hobby, it is an all-consuming lifestyle.
So, when your Advanced History of Jujutsu Sorcery class is cancelled last minute and Shoko was sent on a mission and had to cancel your study date later today, you now have practically the whole night to yourself.
You can’t say you’re complaining about the sudden gap in your itinerary for the day. But what should you do? Read a book? Take a nap? Clean your room? Go for a walk? Sit around and do nothing? With so much expected from you on a constant basis, you forget how nice it is to have absolutely nothing to do, even if it’s only for an hour or so. Nothing being expected from you is rare, so it's nice to be able to breathe. You settle on going back to your dorm, finishing the book you have been reading, tidying up, and catching up on shows you fell behind on.
You take your time walking the path back to your dorm, relishing in the cool autumn air. Leaves tinted rusty vermilion and vivid saffron dance along the cool breeze. Your skin is flushed from the chilly temperature and you really, really wish you decided to wear a coat, Suguru’s words of wisdom from the morning ricocheting in your mind. You figured your sweater you wore under your uniform would keep you warm enough, but you definitely overestimated the thickness of your skin. You make a mental note to never mention this to Geto - he has never been one to shy from announcing he “told you so” about whatever it is he was inevitably right about.
You decide finally on what your plan is: go to your room, listen to music, and relax for a little. You haven’t had alone time in what felt like decades, and you are sure this is the most you’d get in a while.
The handle of your door is cold to the touch, yet oddly comforting. Having already unlocked it, you open it with ease, tranquil at the thought of lying in your bed with a calming night ahead of you.
Tranquil, that is, until you hear your name being called from the absolute last voice you wanted to hear right now.
“What took you so long?” Gojo queries.
Your eyes land upon your classmate, who lies in your bed, arms crossed behind his head atop of your pillow. His long legs are crossed at the ankles as he looks at you from over the rims of his sunglasses. His face has a wide smile and you are almost tempted to take a few of his teeth out, though you know he would best you in any fight. He’s relaxing in the bed you are supposed to be getting into right now, lying on top of your favorite blanket, shoes still on with as he shows not a care in the world. You simply cannot believe the audacity of this man to even breathe near your beloved stuffed animals without your permission.
“Gojo? Why are you in my room?” You immediately question, frozen in the doorway. Your mind is lost in confusion and attempting to figure out what the hell is happening, attempting to solve the puzzle that is the situation in front of you.
You have always had an odd relationship with Satoru Gojo. While you can acknowledge his undeniable attractiveness and impressive skills as a sorcerer, his personality, as you have learned, has not been one you mix well with. You are more of a quiet student compared to his loud, attention-seeking, egotistical personality. You tend to keep to yourself and your select group of friends, while Gojo is an arrogant loud mouth who gets off on making others feel small. Since you have been introduced to the boy, you feel like he has made it his life goal to irritate you for some masochistic reason you cannot seem to fathom.
When you first met him, you were actually excited for four years of being a classmate to a man you considered to be a living form of a Greek god. Though, while his jokes were funny at one point, his persistence to constantly pick on just you is really starting to get in your head. Honestly, you used to be able to sweep his poking and prodding under the rug, tolerating and even sometimes encouraging his jokes. You even thought his humor was cute at one point, but that was before you realized you were just another victim to being blinded by his attractiveness, wanting to see the best of him because of a stupid, meaningless little high school crush that almost every girl who sees him has.
You know you're not special. Gojo picks on everyone - even his best friends. But something about the way he torments you is different from how he banters with others. If it weren't for his limitless and your impressive sense of self-control, you most definitely would have scratched all six of his eyes out by now.
Maybe you are a bit extra sensitive about the little things he says and does because maybe what some cute boy you go to school with says means more to you than he will ever know. Maybe you take everything he says personally because you too think you can never be good enough for The Strongest Sorcerer, nor will you ever be entirely adequate for The Satoru Gojo. Maybe his teasing makes you feel inferior and small because he is destined for such magnificent things, yet you are a measly, barely even above average sorcerer. Maybe you crave a way to make the thought that someone as insignificant as you could never make someone like him turn his head in your direction hurt less, so you choose to internalize his insults instead of wishing he means it when he calls you cute. Maybe this is how you choose to cope with your fear of rejection. If you never do anything about the butterflies in your stomach when Gojo is around, you will never have to go through being rejected - and, honestly, so what if making him the villain in your story at least makes the idea of being around him hurt a little less? You are trying to protect yourself from being hurt. There is nothing wrong with self-preservation.
Gojo continues to smugly peer at you over his sunglasses, and the way his lashes partially cover his cerulean eyes makes you want to rip his stupid designer lenses off and pluck every eyelash he has one by one. In one quick movement, he lifts from your bed and struts toward you, causing your body to tense while he maintains his conceited smile. Suddenly, you want to be anywhere but your room.
"I was bored," Gojo shrugs off your question as if it were obvious, hands in the pocket of his sweatpants. He uses one to sweep through his hair, flexing his biceps in the act in a way you can't tell whether or not was intentional.
You close your eyes, collecting yourself, then quiz, ""What? How did you even get in here?"
"Ughhh, you ask way too many questions," Gojo moans, then mockingly sticks his tongue out at you. "I'm no Grade Three sorcerer. I don't need doors to get into places."
"Gojo, this is my room. You can't just do whatever you want. There's a thing called boundaries and asking for permission," you scold the intruder, the door to your room still open with you standing in its entryway.
"I thought we were friends?" Gojo visibly pouted as he whined. "And I wanna hang out with my friend, so I'm doing that!"
You're unsure as to why you are so angry because of that comment - You and Gojo... friends? HA! Funny joke! The only one Gojo constantly embarrasses, mocks, insults, and is just plain mean to is you. Not Suguru, his best friend. Not Shoko, another one of his friends. Not even Utahime, who hates his guts with every cell in her body, is teased to the extent you are. Just you. Yeah, he teases everyone, but he only seems to go overboard with you.
It doesn't help (even though you would never, ever in your right mind tell Gojo this because that would just give him ammunition to tease you more and you are too prideful to admit it) that he looks so damn good in those sweatpants and that shirt fits his biceps perfectly and his smile is so dreamy and he is SO attractive and I would worship those abs and-
You laugh at the absurdity of your thought(s) that the neurons in your brain are currently tasked with shredding, dispersing, and hiding the paper scraps of in the filing rooms of your mind to never again resurface. The idea that at one point, you thought a moment of peace was possible for you sends you even further into a laughing fit. Gojo stares at you, tilts his head, and squints his eyes in silent question of your sanity. You are curled over in laughter, wheezing at how hilarious this situation is to you. It takes about two whole minutes for you to calm down and recollect yourself.
"You finally lose it? Do you need me to call a psychiatrist or something?" Gojo finally breaks the silence, still lost at what is happening, head spinning as he tries to deduce scene in front of him.
"You really think we're friends?" you inquire.
"Um... yeah?" Gojo replies, unsure of why you are asking. Of course you are friends!
"No, Gojo. We are not friends," you deadpan. "We have never been friends."
You have never seen Gojo speechless before now. His mouth slightly agape, eyebrows risen, face completely frozen in place from the words that just left your mouth. You are unsure if he is genuinely in disbelief, or if he is faking it to be a menace to you as he so commonly is. Between recently reaching your limit with him and the fact that all you want is to be alone right now, the only thing you wanted to entertain was him leaving your room.
Yeah, you are exaggerating a bit. Maybe you are intentionally trying to hurt him because the sight of him in your bed right now irritates you to the extent that you simultaneously want to scream, cry, and punch a hole in the wall. Maybe there is some hyperbole interlaced into your words, and maybe you are giving off some attitude, but can he really blame you? For the amount of times he has made you feel so small, you standing your ground one time is not the end of the world, right? All you want is to be treated like how he treats Shoko, or even Geto at this point. Yet, it feels you are the butt of every joke, and it has exhausted you.
"Now, please get out of my room," you request, stepping beside your door and motioning toward it.
"...what?" Gojo finally peeps, still frozen in spot.
"What do you mean 'what'?" you groan. You cross your arms in front of you, an inquisitive look on your face as you stare at the intruder. You aren't going to let him sway you; you will get your peace for the night.
Gojo looks like he is lost in the mystery that is his mind, until suddenly, he smiles his smug smile that gets you so angry so quickly, saying, "Aw, you're so cute when you're upset! Woke up on the wrong side of the bed today, now? Or can you even have a side with how tiny this thing is?"
You glance at your twin-sized bed, which is the standard for a dormitory and one that has been in every single other person's dorm you have ever been in. While it would not surprise you if Gojo in all of his wealth brought a California King sized bed to his Jujutsu High dorm, you don't care to think about what his dorm looks like since you have never been in it before, and you don't care to be jealous of a bed. Whatever he is trying to do here is not going to work on you.
"I already asked you nicely. Get out," you persist. You know his tactics, you know he is just trying to get under your skin. You are honestly a little impressed by the impertinence of this man to break into your room on the assumption that you were going to willingly hang out with him. He truly is in his own delusional little world.
Without another word, Gojo walks out of your room, uncharacteristically quiet. You smile widely as you shut and lock your door, then lay on your bed, finally able to finish the book you have been reading the past few weeks.
-----
Satoru Gojo is distraught, to say the least.
Since leaving your room, Gojo has been sitting on the edge of his twin sized dorm bed, staring at the wall across from him as if is the Eighth Wonder of the World. If you squint your eyes enough, you can see the storm cloud above his head as he tries to piece together what he just learned, thunder rumbling more aggressively by the second. His uncertainty regarding just happened is so obvious, juxtaposing his typically self-assured persona.
Did he do something without realizing it? What do you mean by you have 'never been friends'? What did he do to make you think that? Where did he go wrong?
And to think that Gojo was in the midst of building courage to ask you on a date.
He walks out of his room, hardly even remembering to close his door as he makes his way to the only person's room he can think of going to right now; his best friend, Suguru Geto's.
Not even bothering to knock, Gojo opens the door to his friend's room to see him at his desk. It appears he is doing schoolwork, but who is Gojo if not one to encourage bad habits, such as forgoing homework?
"You know you could knock sometimes," Geto comments. He does not even need to look back to see who is in his room. This is practically a routine for the two of them at this point.
"She doesn't think we're friends," Gojo confesses in desperation. He doesn't bother with context, since he knows that Geto already knows who he is speaking about: you. "I dunno why. I just wanted to hang out with her."
Geto sighs, putting his pencil down as he concludes this worksheet is not going to be done anytime soon so long as Gojo is in his room. He spins on his chair to face the pouting boy, black hair flying behind him as he does so.
"Spill it, Satoru."
"Well, I figured if I could get a moment with her alone it would be nice since we don't really get that, but I- I couldn't think of how to ask her. So, I kind of convinced her sensei to take on a mission on the pretense that he was the only person available and it was beyond my expertise... even though it was a grade two curse I could exorcise in seconds. And then I waited in her room until she got there, and she told me to get out and that we aren't friends," Gojo explains, a little rushed with his signature toothy smile to sweeten it all at the end.
"So you manipulated her teacher, broke into her room, assumed she would be okay with that, and now, you're butthurt that she didn't want to hang out with you?" Geto interrogates, always one to see things for how they are.
"Well, when you put it like that, it makes me sound bad," Gojo whines.
"Maybe because it is bad?"
"How?" Gojo gasps.
At this point, Geto already has an understanding of the situation based on the little bit of information he has been told. Gojo, who has been talking Geto's ear off for months about how he wants to go on a date with you yet not doing anything productive toward his wishes, always tells Geto about every rumors he hears regarding you, about how pretty you look in your uniform, about how you responded to his joke the other day, and how cute you looked all flustered. But Geto already knows, and he has known based on the look on your face after Gojo makes another one of his jokes toward you, based on your body language when Gojo enters the room, and based on your lingering stare after he leaves it.
Geto thinks that maybe he should get an award, or maybe he should be given the official title of The All-Knowing Suguru Geto since he pretty is practically a psychic at this point. He feels like he is watching a rom-com about two stupidly oblivious people in love, Geto attempting to figure out whether the ending will be happy for them or not, since the main characters are too stupid to see what is right in front of them. He can see the way you long for each other. He has seen it since even before Gojo opened up to him for the first time about how he feels about you. He sees how much Gojo hurts you and how much you beat yourself up for things you cannot control. He has seen that eventually, there will be a point where Gojo cannot save himself from the hole he is digging himself. Gojo is just so... Gojo. He jumps headfirst into self sabotage, and as much as Geto has tried to help him out by giving him advice or subtly trying to get him to just shut the fuck up for once, Gojo simply doesn't understand it.
And maybe Gojo won't ever understand it. Maybe, Geto starts to think, his biggest challenge in this life is having to endure Gojo's ego being his downfall, because this all seems more difficult to endure than how special grade curses taste (which is disgusting, by the way, and he doubts he will ever get used to it).
"Well, what you did is a big overstep, but honestly, I think you are missing the point here, Satoru," Geto says, and he feels like an elementary school teacher trying to keep it together while resolving a conflict two students had over a class toy. He even has his teacher voice on, all magisterial.
"What? What do you mean? What point?" Gojo scrambles for answers, rushing his questions making him sound like a jumbled mess. He looks at Geto, desperate for advice that he will most likely choose to ignore.
"I mean," Geto clears his throat to elongate the dramatic pause he has crafted for his own entertainment, "that you are an asshole, and she's tired of it."
"Did she say something to you? How do you know? Why am I an asshole? What do-" Gojo is frantic. He does not let Geto get a word in between questions, and even if he did, he would not be able to focus enough to listen to him.
"Satoru, stop," Geto says, his voice authoritative and final. "I am not speaking for her. What I said is not fact - that was simply an assumption based on plenty of my own observation. Regardless, I think you need to lay off of her. I have witnessed one too many times where you take things too far. She's a human being with feelings and emotions, believe it or not. Your actions and words actually effect her.
Gojo stands still, and if you ask him how he feels in this moment, he would say his heart has stopped and he is unable to breathe anymore, nor does he even deserve to. Geto had mentioned these kind of things before, trying to help the two of you idiots out. But Gojo figured Geto was jealous or overly critical or boring or just plain dumb whenever he brought up this topic. it was for his best interest, he realizes, and he is an idiot for not listening sooner, only recognizing this after you humbled his ego.
"Okay," he says under his breath. "Okay. Yeah. Okay."
"Okay?" Geto raises an eyebrow, not convinced.
"Yeah! Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah," Gojo says, nodding his head faster with every second. His brain racks through every thought, his shattered heart doing it's best to safety pin itself back together, his body desiring to be anywhere but here. He is seemingly in a daze, eyes not focusing on anything in particular, though Geto cannot see his eyes through his sunglasses in the dim light of his dormitory. "Yeah. Okay. I'm going to bed."
"You sure?" Geto tries to create an opening for Gojo to talk to him, though he does not want to push it.
"Yeah," Gojo responds. He walks toward the door to leave his friend's room.
"You can talk to me, you know," Geto prods. He is kind of starting to get a little worried. He has never seen Gojo this... unsure?
"Yeah. I know. Thanks, Suguru," he flashes Geto a wide smile - his signature smile - and leaves the room without another word.
Geto concludes that his best friend is a lost cause.
-----
It has been a week since the incident, and things between you and Gojo have been... weird.
Every interaction with Gojo has been so... pleasant?
Not once in the past week has Gojo mocked you relentlessly. Not once has he bothered you as he typically does. He has barely even been around you, instead opting to stay to himself evene when you, Suguru, and Shoko are hanging out. In fact, you have barely seen him. He has attended every class you share, slacking off as is expected of him nowadays, but he has not focused his attention on you as he routinely does. He has not critiqued your training efforts, nor has he laughed when you lost your practice spar with Suguru (when there was no way you were winning in the first place). He has not pushed your buttons, and he has not laughed it off whenever you told him to knock it off, as you have
The only one-on-one interaction you have had with him was when you were walking to class, Gojo was ahead of you in the hallway. At the door to the classroom both of you were headed toward, he held it open for you and offered you a hesitant smile.
"You gonna slam it into me or something?" you queried, untrusting of anything related to him, as well as hesitant to his intent based on your previous interaction.
"Nope," he responded, his smile turning into a soft pout, his face appearing dejected. "Just being friendly."
You gave him a quizzical once-over, eying him warily up and down. You then took one step, still suspicious of potential ulterior motives, then another, until you passed through the doorway without any issues. He followed a bit behind you after ensuring the door shut behind him and reached his seat next to Geto's. Immediately, he started to taunt his friend, and acted as if he were a completely different person than the one who just opened the door for you - loud and confident instead of quiet and unsure.
You hate that you miss his attention.
You absolutely detest the way you stared at him across the classroom that day. You despise how your heart stopped beating when he glanced in your direction, eyes avoiding your figure and never making eye contact with you. You loathe how his gloomy expression sent a pang of regret through your body. The discomfort of a singular pleasant interaction with Gojo is nothing compared to the agonizing emptiness you feel from him basically ignoring your existence.
This is what you wanted, is it not? You wanted peace - you yearned for it. You wanted him to stop. You wanted a break from being the receiving end of every joke. This is exactly what you asked for ever since you met him, and now you have it. So why are you so unhappy? Why, all of the sudden, do you wish Gojo would give you the time of day?
Maybe you should thank him for opening the door for you. You were kind of rude, frankly, since he did make an effort to be nice and you threw it in his face, immediately assuming the worst. Maybe he is finally listening to you and choosing to work on becoming less of a hinderance on society. You thought you were past your childish crush, but clearly, his attention meant something to you, regardless of if it was positive or negative.
"You alright?" Shoko asks you. You have been in the library studying together, but she noticed you are quieter than normal; pensive, even. You have barely touched your worksheet, staring at the paper as if it were the most confusing topic in the world when it is simple math you are a pro at.
"Hm?" you hum. You are too lost in the depths of your mind to have heard the words she spoke, though you did hear her voice.
"Something's up," Shoko claims, moving her index finger in a circle while pointing at her head. "I can tell. My Shoko senses are on high alert."
"What?" you respond, confused at what she is implying, and a little amused at the way she speaks about herself.
"I don't know, maybe from the fact that I asked you a question about our assignment and you just stared at it like you are on another planet right now?" She jeers.
"Sorry, Sho. I'm in my head," you apologize. "I didn't mean to ignore you."
"You can make it up to me by telling me what happened between you and Satoru," Shoko implores, causing you to look at her completely puzzled.
"C'mon," she drags, "He's been a pouty bitch all week, and you've been staring at him every chance you get. Started sometime last week. I can put two and two together."
You forget sometimes how well Shoko knows you. She knew about your crush on Gojo since before even you did, and regardless of how little she understands your feelings for him, she gave you advice and listened to you vent, complaining at a minimal. She listened when you came to her about how frustrated you were with him, and she consoled you when he made you upset. She and you are quite close. You cherish her as your best friend, just as she does you.
Shoko is also, obviously, somewhat close with Gojo, so she can pick up on things with him that you may not. When she asked Suguru a few months ago out of the blue how long Satoru had liked you, Suguru coughed up water that went down the wrong pipe from his surprised gasp, then told her he had only recognized his feelings a few weeks prior. Ever since she has learned such information, Shoko has tried her best to give Gojo the message that he is a dick - her methods include telling him straight up, texting him insults, and ignoring him after being an ass.
"I'm not sure what you're talking about," you say, praying she will pick up on the fact that she will back off on the subject for now. As much as you know you should open up to her, your mind is so scrambled, you aren't sure as to what you could even say.
"Hey, you can deny all you want. That's cool. I'm here when you wanna talk, though. I can slap some sense into that idiot. You know I'll take any chance to," Shoko chirps.
"I know. Thanks, Sho. I appreciate that. And you. I just- I don't even know," you begin. You take a deep breath, calming yourself down a bit. You still aren't positive as to why this entire thing is bothering you so much, but it wouldn't hurt to try and work out how you're feeling, and Shoko is giving you the floor to do so. "He was in my dorm when I came back from class being cancelled last week and I was pissed and cranky and tired and annoyed, so I told him we aren't friends. I was kind of harsh and now he's barely looking at me anymore. I thought this was what I wanted, but-"
"But you're not sure why it's making you all sad," Shoko finishes your thought, saying what she knew you would struggle to say.
"Yeah. Exactly. He opened a door for me yesterday, and as small of a thing it was, it was the first time he'd acknowledged me since the other night, and then we were back to being strangers. As much as I hate to say it, I think I'd rather him be his asshole self than not even be acknowledged by him at all," you ponder. You are thinking out loud at this point, putting thoughts you have struggled all week to admit to yourself into words for your friend to hear.
"Girl, you're whipped," Shoko teases, smiling at you fondly before continuing, "...but trust me when I say that he is, too."
"Don't say that," you groan. In distress, you hide your face from her in your hands. "Gets my hopes up and I hate that."
"Okay, okay. Look, I know he's a douchebag. Trust me. I know. I can talk to him if you want me to?"
"No!" you say too quickly, the word muffled through your palms.
"Alright, message received. But before I change the subject 'cause I know you want me to, whatever happens, promise me you'll keep in mind what I always try and get through your thick skull?" she probes. You raise your head to look at her, propping it against your hand as your elbow leans on the table.
"Yeah, yeah. You'll beat his ass. I know," you quote with a chuckle since the both of you know she would never stand a chance against Gojo.
"Of course I will. Now, did you hear who Nanami has a thing for? Holy shit, I was shocked," your best friend gossips as you are leaning forward in fascination.
-----
A knock on your door echoes throughout your room. Your eyes immediately gravitate to the clock on your night stand, reading 12:17 A.M.. A dim lamp is illuminating your room, allowing you to read regardless of the darkness of the night.
Knuckles rap against the dark wood of your door once again. You realize you have just been staring and expecting the door to magically open itself to reveal whoever is bothering you at such an hour. You actually have to get out of bed and open it, as comfortable as your bed is and as much as you do not want to get out of it. You finally suck it up and decide to slip out from under your warm covers.
The floor is cold against your feet, and the air is frigid against your skin. The door handle is in your grasp before you know it as you open the door and reveal your perpetrator.
There he stands; at first glance, one may believe him to be a statue carved by ancient Romans; they took their dear time and focused all of their effort into perfecting every edge, meticulously chiseling the marble he was formed of with the utmost precision. His hair sits perfectly atop is head, as white as ever. He adorns a fitted white t-shirt and baggy black sweatpants. His hands are hidden in his pockets as he stands in front of you with the most melancholy look you have ever seen on his face. He looks so good.
Suddenly, you feel a little too exposed in your grey plaid PJ pants hanging low on your hips, a tiny, fitted black tank covering your upper half. You stare at each other for what feels like ages. While his eyes are blocked by the usual barrier of his sunglasses, you can still feel his eyes taking you in.
"Gojo?" you inquire, a tone in your voice.
"Hey. Sorry. Um, can I- could we talk? Can I come in?" He says, and you don't think you have ever seen him so unsure of himself.
"Um, sure?" you say, more confused than ever. You step back and let the other sorcerer enter your room, closing the door behind you. Yeah, you realize, you just let your archenemy into your room. Without even a fuss.
You walk to your bed and sit on the edge of it, facing Gojo, who is still standing by the entrance. As you are not sure what he is here for, as much as you want to be hospitable and tell him to sit on your desk chair or tell him to get himself comfortable, you say nothing. Instead, you opt to wait for him to lead the conversation. He was the one to seek you out, anyway.
"I, um. I guess I just wanted to say that I'm sorry," he begins. "And- shit, I'm sorry. I had something planned to say, but fuck-"
"Calm down, Gojo. You're okay. You can talk to me," you say. You are unsure as to why you are being so kind to him after everything, but you feel he needs it as he is struggling with whatever he is going to say to you. You pray this does not bite you in the ass and turn into some practical joke on you where he whips out pepper spray and blinds you or something. You're half expecting a camera crew to pop out at any point for a prank show he hired on you.
You watch Gojo take a deep breath, then another, and then another, before he says, "I've been thinking about what you said - that we've never been friends - and I just- well, I dunno. It got to me."
"I know I was harsh about that-" you begin, but Satoru cuts you off.
"No, no. No. I deserved it. I'm an asshole. I know that," he says, then inhales deeply. He then mutters to himself, "Fuck, I can't even get the damn words out."
"What?"
"I like you, okay?" he spits out, the words spilling from his lips before he can even stop himself. "I have feelings for you. I like you in the cringey fuckin' high school rom-com kinda way. I think you're too goddamn cute when you're embarrassed, like when you're flustered and blushing and shit. And when you'rre all mad, it's adorable and it makes my heart swell up and I just wanna fuckin' kiss all over you- I'm getting carried away."
You stare at Gojo in shock as he is practically out of breath, but are not given a chance to respond as he continues his monologue, walking closer to you as he speaks.
"I know I'm an asshole, and I know I've hurt you too many times. Shit, even once is too many times. I realize that now. I hate myself for letting it get to this point. I wish I could take back everything. But I really hope you'll forgive me, because fuck, this last week barely seein' you has been rough on me," he pours his heart out to you.
He is standing directly in front of you, you still sitting on the edge of your bed, still in a bit of shock at the words Gojo has just said to you. You watch silently as he removes his glasses, tucking them into his pocket, and looks you in the eyes.
"Can- can I hold your hand? Is that okay?" He implores, and you nod while you lift a hand up for him to grasp between his own. He encompasses your hand with his own and kneels before you, continuing his rant, his eyes boring into your soul.
"I am so fuckin' sorry. Truly. I'm sorry for hurting you over and over for my own shitty self-interest. I'm sorry for being an ass. I get it if you don't ever forgive me, because shit, I- I wouldn't if I were you," he persists. "But from now on, I wanna be the reason you smile. I wanna make you all flustered, but not because I hurt you; I wanna make you blush because I called you pretty. I never wanna be the reason you cry or are upset or hurt. I wanna make you the happiest girl alive - I wanna spoil you to death, I wanna wake up next to you, I wanna see you in my hoodies, I wanna take you anywhere you dream of going. I wanna- I'm getting carried away again. Shit," he harps on, taking a deep breath. "My point is that if you hate me and never wanna talk to me again, I get it. But if you wanna give me a chance, I will work every day to make up the time I wasted being a dick. I can't promise I won't tease you or go too far sometimes or make mistakes, but I can promise I'll do better, and I will learn, and I will listen. I, um- I wanna grow as a person, and I don't want to grow with anyone but you by my side. So, please - give me a chance."
Gojo finishes by giving you a soft smile, clearly nervous as to how you are going to respond.
You struggle finding the appropriate way to react - you are between jumping into his arms, begging him to never let go and slapping him in the face while screaming for him to get out. You cannot believe that this whole time, he has felt the same way toward you as you have him, but he was just too stupid to actually do anything about it.
"I-" you begin, but emotion overwhelms you, choking you up. You eyes well with tears, and Gojo immediately removes his hands from your own to wipe your woes away.
"No, no, no. No tears," he says softly.
"'m sorry," you mumble. "It's just a lot to take in, Gojo."
"I know. I'm sorry," he consoles. He moves his hands so that they are on your cheeks, and he stares at your face as if this was the last time he was ever going to be this close. "Please, please, call me Satoru from now on."
He is lost in your beauty, memorizing the curve of your nose and the shape of your upper lip and the color of your eyes when you finally speak again.
“Okay... Satoru. Thank you for, um, being honest with me. I do, uh, really appreciate you opening up and being so vulnerable,” you begin, wanting to acknowledge his accomplishment so he knows that this is a healthy step in the right direction. Your eyes are still teary, but you don’t let that stop you. You can recognize it is difficult for him to be open, so you want to push through the anxiety and just lay everything out there for him since he did the same for you.
“I guess I’ve been all in my head about how you’re, like, this God-like figure. You’re The Strongest, the one who doesn’t need anyone, y’know? Ever since I met you, I’ve been in awe of you, and I’ve spent the last year convincing myself that I’d never be good enough to catch your eye - I mean, like, how many other girls fawn over you on the daily? In my head, I was just another name on a long list. But, I'll admit, I do take a lot of what you say to me to heart. I know I shouldn’t, and I know you’re joking most of the time, but sometimes it just… hurts, I guess," you ramble. You stop and take a moment to breathe, the ever-growing tension in the room causing your anxiety to rise. Satoru notices your hesitation and he can see the gears in your mind turning and turning and turning. He uses the thumb of each of his hands to stroke your face, comb through your hair, and do whatever he can to help you calm down. You relax into his touch - one that feels so comfortable, so familiar, yet so new, and so exciting.
"And then over time, I started to resent you. No - I resented myself. I figured I would just drag you down, and with everything in your life, that’s, um- that's the last thing you would ever need, and of anyone in the world, I was the least deserving of your attention. I don’t know if that makes sense because it doesn’t even really make sense to me, but I just- I’m sorry, too. For assuming everything you said to me was to insult me, and for letting my insecurities get the best of me. All of my hurt could have been avoided if I just tried to talk to you, but I scared myself out of it every time.”
“You don’t need to apologize at all, baby. You got nothing to be sorry for. Like I said, I know I’ve been an asshole,” he speaks with a smile, and you blush at the pet name he called you. He brushes a few strands hair out of your eyes, his touch gentle, as if he is touching the most delicate piece of artwork in the world (and in his mind, he is). “And you caught my eye the second I saw you. Something about you. Just can’t get enough of it. Can’t believe you ever thought any differently, or that you aren't good enough. You're perfect. An absolute angel. I'll do everything I can to prove that to you."
"Y'know, Satoru, for having six eyes, you're such an idiot," you say, laughing a little as you do. "I'm such an idiot."
"I know," he agrees. He nods his head, continuing, "I am the most idiotic of all idiots to ever idiot."
You chuckle under your breath before saying, "That's one way to put it."
Gojo laughs softly, lifting one of his hands to run over your hair and smooth it down, muttering, "Pretty, pretty girl. Can I kiss you? Please?"
"I haven't even told you if you're getting that chance or not," you say, tilting your head as you speak.
"I know. But I also haven't been kicked out yet, so..." he drags out.
"Fair point," you acknowledge.
Satoru takes that as his opportunity to lean forward, as to which you meet him in the middle. Your lips touch, and his are so soft. He tastes so good - so sweet, so sugary. He smells like candy and vanilla, and you just want to take a bite of him. His tongue swipes at your bottom lip to ask to enter your mouth, which you immediately allow. You place your hand on his torso, slipping it underneath his shirt and letting it rest on top of his abs. He moves a hand to your nape in an attempt to bring you closer than you already are.
It feels like hours of making out pass until you finally separate. You are both out of breath, smiling and drunk on each other. You already miss the taste of him and his warmth.
"Been wanting to do that since I first saw you," Satoru confesses. His dopey smile is crooked, and he looks adorable looking at you with swollen lips and unguarded eyes.
"Me too," you agree. "Was worth the wait, I guess."
"Wait. You never answered my question," Satoru gasps. "Give me a chance, pleeease?"
"Oh yeah," you say, feigning a face deep in thought as you take your time considering your options. "Hmm... let me think. You're cute, I guess. And rich..."
“So, is that a yes or…?” Satoru wonders, to which you flick his forehead with your pointer finger and thumb.
“Yes, Satoru. Fine, I’ll give you a chance," you huff sassily, sarcasm laced in every syllable.
"YAYYYYYYYY!"

Bonus
“Hell yeah! Hand over my yen,” Shoko exclaims to Suguru.
The two of them are taking their weekly morning walk - one they go on every Wednesday. It’s a nice way for them to relieve stress, allowing them to explore the beautiful nature that surrounds their school. However, third member of their trio failed to meet with them at their normal spot this morning, acknowledging it with just a simple text saying, “sorry busy ttyl got some things to tell u \(^ 3^)/”. They’re surprised he even sent them anything since he has a habit of ghosting and being a no show.
“Huh? Why?” Suguru’s eyebrows crease as he looks to Shoko inquisitively.
“Our bet, dumbass,” she says while pointing toward the field ahead, where you and Satoru sit together having what looks like a mini picnic. While it seems a bit early for a picnic, you must have watched the sunrise or something. There is a large, plaid blanket laid on the grass, a bag full of sweets and snacks, and the two of you facing the now risen sun. You have your head on the boy’s shoulder, his arm around your waist. You two are obviously very... cozied up.
“Damn, really?” Suguru says, a little surprised. “Figured it would take Satoru at least five more business days to figure his shit out.”
“Doesn’t matter. Give me my money, man,” Shoko joked, and Suguru pulls his wallet out of the pocket of his kimono, fishing the amount of yen he agreed to out and handing it to her. “I think I’m gonna have a smoke. You want one too?”
Suguru watches as Gojo looks down at you with lovesick eyes, then kisses you with more passion he has ever seen his best friend have. It’s quite an abnormal sight. Kinda gross, too.
“Yes, please,” Suguru sighs, turning around and following Shoko to their usual smoking spot.
You two are a disgustingly adorable couple, and Suguru already misses when you hated each other and weren’t all over each other. He can tell it’s going to get… a bit bothersome for people other than the two of you. But at least his friends are happy, right? Maybe The All Knowing Geto should be next in line for his free couples counseling services since his advice is so clearly effective.
Oh, well. Now he may be down 2,500 yen, but at least he didn't have to deal with you two being stupidly in love and not knowing it anymore. Now, you're stupidly in love, but you know it.
Actually, he isn't sure which is worse.
Thank you for reading :))))) i spent a lot of time with this one and am pretty proud & hope you enjoy <3333

Copenhagen
Pairing: Luca x Fem!Berzatto!Reader
Fandom: The Bear (Hulu)
Summary: You go to Copenhagen with Marcus, and meet Luca.
Warnings: SMUT, Cursing
Tumblr media
*******
“I don’t know why you’re coming with me,” Marcus stated in the airport. “You know I can do this by myself.”
“I do know you can do this by yourself,” you agreed, “But I can’t explain it. I have to watch you do this by yourself...and going to Copenhagen is pretty great, too.”
Marcus smiled. “Yeah, right.” He rolled his eyes.
You were a Berzatto, Bear and Sugar’s little sister. It was Carmy’s idea to open a new restaurant when you all found Mikey’s money, and you and Nat were just helping out where you could. You threw yourself into this new project, though. A lot of it was to honor your late brother, but there was something else involved. You couldn’t put your finger on it, no matter how hard you tried. For some reason, you were as driven to open up the Bear as Carmy was, and you weren’t even involved in the kitchen.
Copenhagen was a beautiful city. Honestly, you loved anywhere that wasn’t America, but Chicago was your home.
“Who are you?” a British voice called out as you entered the pastry section of the kitchen.
You caught the eye of the man wondering who you were and quickly answered, “My name is Y/n Berzatto, are you Luca?”
He nodded, “That’s correct. You’re here to ask me questions?”
“About Marcus and your time together today, yes,” you confirmed.
Before you could get your first question in, Luca had a query of his own. “Why didn’t you come in with Marcus today?”
“We’re opening a restaurant back in Chicago. There’s a lot of stuff I have to do,” you smiled.
Luca smiled as well. “Alright. Fire away.”
You had a few questions to as Luca regarding Marcus and the craft, and that took you about ten minutes. “Thank you,” you bid genuinely when you were done.
“No problem,” Luca was still smiling at you. “Can I ask, why did you come all the way to another country when you could have sent those questions in an email?”
There was that same line of questioning Marcus had been asking you as you got on the plane over there. “Because...I just want everything to go right for this restaurant. I can’t explain it...but...”
“You care about everything, more than anything,” he finished for you.
That was the best you had heard your reasoning be explained, and you weren’t even the one that explained it. “Yeah,” you smiled at him in return.
“Yeah.” Luca went on, “Do you cook?”
“No, no,” you laughed off. “That’s my brothers’ thing. My-my sister and I stick to the paperwork side of things.”
“I find that surprising,” Luca revealed, “Carmen is the best chef I’ve ever worked with.”
You laughed again. “Yeah, I get that all the time.”
“Do you want to help me out with something?” Luca offered.
Daring forward, you peaked at his work. “What is it?”
“It’s called a compote. I could teach you how to make it, if you’d like.”
“Haven’t you done enough teaching for today?” You referenced Marcus.
Luca just smiled at you. “I don’t consider this work. Especially involving someone as beautiful as you.”
You felt your cheeks heat up. “Well, how could I say no to that invitation?”
Making it was easy enough. It involved boiling mixed berries, sugar, and honey...and that’s about it. You knew he went extra easy on you.
“Do you make this dessert for all the girls who wander into your kitchen?” you teased as you and Luca shared the compote.
He was quick to quietly respond. “No. Only you.”
A chill ran down your spine. You decided to remind him. “I’m only in Copenhagen for a week.”
“Darling, I’ve been wanting to do this since you walked in here.”
Without another thought, you leaned in and kissed him.
Almost everything about him was soft. His hands as they caressed your face, his lips as they danced with yours, everything was soft except for his chest as you racked your hands down it, aiming for his belt. His chest was hard as hell. You could feel his muscles flex as your hands came in contact with him.
Luca stopped you as you reached his belt. “Not yet,” he told you before standing and lifting you up onto the counter with little effort, “Can I take these pants off, darling?”
You lifted your hips as he slid the clothing down your legs. He planted a few kisses on them as he rose back up to meet your lips again.
Luca stood between your legs and slid his fingers up your folds as he kissed you. He held the two fingers up between you. “All this for me?”
“You weren’t the only one who wanted this to happen as soon as I walked in,” you revealed.
Luca put his two fingers in his mouth and sucked, all while keeping his eyes on you. “Now this is the best thing I can remember tasting in a long time...you ready?”
    “Please,” you nodded.
Luca kissed you again before inserting his two fingers inside you.
You whined against his lips, and grabbed onto his shoulders.
Slowly, he started pumping them in and out of you with you rocking your hips along with him. Luca made out with you as he did that. You could barely keep up with his tongue. Soon, he brought in three fingers, and suddenly, you couldn’t keep up at all. You decided to wrap your legs around Luca and to just sit there and let it happen to you.
You felt your orgasm rising in your stomach. You were almost there when Luca pulled his fingers out of you.
“Fuck, darling. Can’t take it anymore,” was all he could say. He pulled his pants down enough to free his sizeable dick before shoving it inside you.
You let out a yelp, but Luca cut you off by covering your lips with his again.
Luca immediately started thrusting in and out of you. “That’s more like it,” he said when he broke away from kissing you. At a certain point, he just held you close as he, almost violently, made love to you.
“Luc--!” Your voice broke off as you came.
“That’s it. Squeeze me just like that--Good girl,” Luca emphasized as he came inside you with one final thrust. He brought his forehead back to yours before holding you in another kiss.
When that kiss broke, you asked Luca, “Can I have my pants back, please?”
“Of course.” He broke away from you with a laugh as he quickly readjusted his pants and belt and found your clothes lying on the floor.
You took the last bite of the compote as you waited.
With everyone’s clothes back on, Luca extended, “You’re more than welcome to come back any time you’d like, and not just for...that. Though, I wouldn’t be opposed.”
“I wouldn’t be opposed, either,” you returned, mocking his accent.
Luca cracked a smile as he looked at you. He slowly leaned back in for another kiss.
When you returned it, Luca leaned you against the counter.
The kiss eventually ended and you bid, “I’ll see you tomorrow, Luca.”
    “See you tomorrow, Y/n.”
Two of your hands touched as you walked away, only breaking contact when you were too far to keep it.
You left Luca alone in his kitchen.

Scenario!
"Brother in Falling" Pt.2
Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You stared at him as he spoke. It had been so long since you’d seen Lucifer. Matter of fact, you’d far forgotten what he was like. You didn’t really interact with him much during his time in Hevaen and it had been years since Heaven banished him. He seemed so… gentle. This was the “bringer of evil” that Heaven so warned you about. Drinking coffee, talking about his daughter and how he wanted to be more involved in her life. You felt lied to by heaven. He was just a guy, a nice one at that.
“What about you, you got anyone? Or had…?” He asked, hoping he wasn’t picking a any unhealed scars.
“Me? Well… I had a couple of friends, sir. But they turned their heads to me when I fell.” You replied, taking a sip from the coffee he’d made you. It was quite good if you said so yourself.
“Oh, you don’t have to call me that. I’m not really your sir… But uh… What did you do when you were in heaven?” He spoke, curiously posing query.
“I was just a measly guard at the court… Nothing too important… But you… you were The Moring Star! I mean, I owe you that respect. You were once God’s favorite.” You replied.
“Well, what can I say? I did what I could! Guess they thought I was too revolutionary for them, but joke’s on them! I’m not doing half as bad! Haha!” He laughed, somehow giving off the vibe that he was forcing himself to feel this way.
“They wasted your talent. You’re a great person, Lucifer.” You spoke sincerely.
“T-thank you… I… I haven’t heard that in some time…” He chuckled, oddly proud to have received that compliment.
“No problem!” You smiled softly.
“H-hey uh, I know I mentioned presenting you to my daughter, Charlie. But, There’s protocol in place in acase of another fallen angel. It’s just been… eons since someone else has fallen… I know I’m technically The Only One, but I was an archangel, they just undermined the six the followed me down here.” He explained, huffing at the end.
“Protocol? What do you mean by that?” You asked, lifting your guard just a little bit.
“Well, Uh… techinchally when a new angel falls, we need to hold a meeting because you’re uhh… a new powerful force in Hell. Even more than any naturally occurring being in any of the Seven Rings. We didn’t do it with Vaggie, because she was an exterminator, and they’re sort of at the bottom of the chain. When I found out she was a fallen angel, I just advised her not to point the weapon at everyone that crosses her path. Not like she actually stopped doing it, but eh, bureaucracy. Regardless, you’re a first choir angel, an uhh…” He stared at your form for a moment scanning for any sign on of what class you belonged to. Unable to tell, he blushes in embarrassment, feeling that he came off as weird for staring at you. “Sorry, uh, what class are you?” He asked, looking away in embarrassment.
“A Throne. I’m a throne… Or was…” You replied in a mumble.
“No no, it’s ok. You don’t have to deny it if you don’t want to. You can be whatever you want, I’m sure not gonna tell you anything, and I’m sure not gonna let anyone tell you anything.” He chuckled. “But yeah, You’ll find some of us have rejected or kept our respective titles as we’ve pleased. I mean, shit, I may not be in heaven, but I’m still a Seraph!” He laughed, giving you a sympathetic smile.
“Thank you, Lucifer.” You replied. You were already more welcome here than anywhere else in Heaven. It warmed your heart that you were somewhere where with beigs who appreciated you.
“Either way, you’re a Throne and that might throw off the power balance Hell has, considering that unlike sinners, you can go wherever you want in Hell and, shit… you’re more powerful than some of the Sins… But that’s besides the point! The point is, there’s a bureaucracy I have to follow when it comes to this. It’s just a brief meeting about uh… what was it again…? Uhh… well, your place in Hell and the denizens of your area… oh but all the rings are… full uh… welp! That’s what the meeting’s for! Just to uh, determine your place in the hierarchy.” Lucifer explained, giving you a weak smile. He wasn’t too sure in himself, and you could tell. Seemed like he was going through a rough patch.
“Right… uh… but hierarchy? I don’t… well, I’d be lying if I sad I didn’t wanna, but I don’t think I’m uh… suited to just be put into a leadership position in a hierarchy that has existed for eons and eons. Are you sure about this…?” You asked, clutching your coffee mug.
“Well, the meeting is to figure all of that out! You should bring that up when it happens.” He explained. “Excuse me, I have to make a couple of phone calls…” He added, letting out a small chuckle, getting up from the chair that he sat in. He walked off to a corner; you could hear all of his conversation anyway, but at least he made the effort to politely move to the side.
“Hey! Mammon! So, I’ve got some news! A new angel fell! Uh… We need to hold a meeting and- Yeah know your time is money, but unless you want me to really make you pay taxes as you should be doing, you’re gonna make this government work!… Yeah, Good to know you’re coming, I’ll text you the schedule when I get everyone on board. Yeah, bye to you too.” He sighed, hanging up, and dialing another number.
“Satan! Hey, so uh, I have some crazy news. A new angel fell, and we need a meeting as soon as possible. You’re busy? You missed the annual meeting earlier this year, you’re not missing out on this one! It’s an emergency, don’t make me threaten you like I did Mammon a minute ago…. No I’m not telling you which of the three Choirs they belonged to until we set foot in that meeting room…Good, I’ll get you the schedule when I have it. Yeah, yeah, you grumpy bastart.” He sighed.
You stared at him in confusion despite knowing exactly what he was doing. You knew he was invoking the other 7 Sins to the meeting. You simply sat there uncomfortably, sort of fidgeting with the mug. He noticed this, and before dialing, he walked towards you, giving you a gentle smile.
“Hey… It’s ok. If you think you’re being a burden, you’re not. This is a grand occasion! Charlie, went and stirred up Heaven. You being here is a victory for a new and better world!” He reassured you, continuing the dialing of the next phone call.
“Hey! Ozzie! Yeah, I know I rarely call you anymore, but guess what?” He began.
You couldn’t help but wonder what everyone else had become. You’d seen these seven virtuous angels fall and become the Seven Sins. Of course, they were all driven by their own desire to pursue their respective sins, but it seemed Lucifer’s pride was more on his work. He didn’t seem to have bad intentions either way…
“Yeah yeah, thanks Ozzie, you’re great! Bye!” Lucifer smiled as he hung up. “He’s the only one who never misses out on meetings. The real problem is getting Beelphegor to attend… He is the sin of Sloth…” He joked at you, looking for the next number to dial.
You continued to drink your coffee thinking of what was to come. When Lucifer was done with all the phone calls, he turned to you. “So, I haven’t given them a meeting time, but I’d rather give you some time to adjust. Uhh, in two days sounds fine?” He asked, ready to put it in his calendar.
“Oh, uh, s-sure…” You replied, brushing the feathers on your wings. Wincing at the broken appendages.
Lucifer gave you a slight look, frowning at the sight of your small show of pain. “Hey, if you wanna, I can take you to the hotel now. You need some rest…” He suggested, putting his phone in his pocket.
You nodded gently, “You must be annoyed with me saying thank you, but… You’ve been nothing but kind to me since I got here… And I… put a hole through your roof…” You sighed, pouting in a bit of frustration towards yourself.
“I already said you’re not a burden… Plus, us fallen angels have to look after each other.” He smiled.
It wasn’t long until you two arrived at the hotel. He refused to fly and show himself publicly (not to mention you couldn’t fly anyway.), so the limo it was. The car ride was full of chit-chat between the both of you. A warm feeling overwhelmed you as you spoke to him. You hadn’t spoken to someone this genuine in a long time. Perhaps being sent here was the best thing that happened to you…

Hello! Love you writing! I've been trying to think of a request and I was wondering if you could do one of Ezreal with a fem!reader of him getting jealous? Maybe his SO is getting a little too much attention from someone else. Thank you!
✿ Prompt: Ezreal is jealous ✿
♡ champion focus: ezreal ♡ tw: none! ♡ Gender-neutral reader
Author’s Note: Hi, anon! Thanks so much! I'm happy you like my work~ ૮꒰ ྀི >⸝⸝⸝< ྀི꒱ა I thought this was the perfect time to drabble on about Ez and insert that not only is Ezreal jealous, but also a bit insecure (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ) Poor boy has low self-esteem! But it's okay we still love him! Enjoy ♡(੭´͈ ᐜ `͈)੭
Tumblr media
Ezreal has always been an insecure man. Most days, he felt you could do so much better than him. He felt like he wasn't good enough to be your boyfriend. He felt like he was beneath most people because of how he looked...
Still, the pop star prince put on a façade. One that tricked everyone into believing he was entirely confident in himself, his looks, and his abilities when in reality he wasn't.
However, lately, Ezreal felt like his façade was crumbling under the weight of his own insecurities. He saw the way other men and women looked at you, with nothing but sheer admiration in their eyes. And how could they not? You were kind, beautiful, everything that Ezreal felt he didn't deserve.
And at the same time, he so selfishly believed he was the only one deserving of you. Why should anyone else get to look at you so lovingly, so joyously, when he was right beside you? Why should anyone get to lay a finger on you or make you smile with a witty joke when he can do that and more for you? Was it scummy for him to think this way? Was it wrong of him to be so... jealous?
Even then, the most Ezreal could do was stare from afar, eyes glowering with hatred for the woman standing before you: Seraphine. She was talented. Pretty. A globally hit sensation even. But what was so great about the conversation you both were having anyway and why were you smiling so happily talking to her? Were you in love with her? Was she in love with you or falling in love with you? These questions ate away at the former pop star.
And from afar, you were able to spot Ezreal's discomfort. Your glowing grin faded into a look of concern when you looked his way, resting your hand on Seraphine's arm, speaking indecipherable words to her. She nodded, and Ezreal immediately began to look away when you started walking his way.
His hand awkwardly made its way to the back of his head. He leaned against the concrete wall behind him, kicking his feet. You stood before him, a concerned little grin on your face.
"Ezreal-" "Yeah?" He interrupted, pouting and peering towards you. "What's going on? Are you alright?" You asked, reaching a hand out to him. He huffed with a crass smile. "Yeah. Never better."
From the tone of Ezreal's voice alone, you immediately knew something was wrong, and it was just a matter of prying out what you did to make your boyfriend so upset. Crossing your arms, you looked at him.
"Did I do something wrong?" You asked. Ezreal was quietly brooding. You reached your hand forward, pulling his face so he would look straight at you. You shook your head disapprovingly, "You look upset, Ez. Come on, this isn't like you. What's wrong?"
You felt his jaw tighten under your hold, turning your head to see what he was staring at... Or instead, who he was staring at. Your eyes fixed on the selfie-taking, blue-haired woman.
"Oh my god... Are you jealous of Seraphine?" You queried Ezreal, Ezreal's face flushing red. He swallowed hard, eyes shifting away from you. "I... I just don't like the way she looks at you, babe!" He whined, shocked when you took his face into both of your hands, placing a chaste kiss on his lips.
"Am I not allowed to have girlfriends, Ez?" you teased, the golden-eyed boy sinking into your touch. "I'd rather you didn't..." "You're overreacting." "Nuh uh..." You snickered, brushing his hair away from his face.
"I'm yours, Ezreal. And you're mine... Now say it." Ezreal pouted. "I'm yours..." He quietly spoke. You shook your head, gripping the sides of his face tighter.
"Say it again..."
"...I'm yours." He repeated a smidge louder.
"That's right. You're mine. And I can't imagine being with anyone else but you, Ez. Compared to everyone else in this universe they're all insignificant. You're the one I want to be with..."
It felt like the weight Ezreal was carrying was effortlessly slipping from his shoulders, grounding him. It wasn't the first time you needed to remind him of who he was to you and how much he meant to you, and it certainly won't be the last.
"What did I do to deserve you?" He asked, his shy smile returning on his handsome face. You kissed his nose, shaking your head. "What did I do to deserve you?"

While He Was Sleeping (Bob Floyd x Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Bob's parents have been together for close to 30 years, but there's a little secret to how they met
Warnings: Weed smoking, concert shenanigans, Bob's uncles all being complete morons etc.
Notes: For @sorchathered for the RomCom prompts!!! I did kinda deviate a little bit from the story, but my darling, please enjoy (lol).
30 years........30 years to that day Bob's family had been together and you and him could hardly believe it.
The whole Floyd family had convened en masse to the ranch in Montana to celebrate, but at the end of the day it was just you, Bob and his parents, the four of you sitting out by the firepit in the waning evening light, the haze of late spring having set fully over Bozeman and the bright red disk of the sun fully visible in the sky.
"Holy hell what a day," Joe sighed as he pulled Irene close to him.
"Good day, Dad?" Bob asked him.
"Yeah, just exhausting," he said. "Wasn't expecting that many people to show up."
"I'm surprised your brother's brain still works," Irene chuckled as the flames crackled.
"What do you mean?" you asked, laughing a little.
"Bobby never told you?" Joe asked. "Jeez, I thought that story ran rife in the family."
You looked at your husband who in turn grew sheepish. "What happened with your uncle?"
"Um......I.....I don't remember......" Bob said, trying to hide the laugh that was threatening to come out.
"Oh I do," Joe chuckled. "Eyeballs, you remember this one?"
"Oh indeed I do," Irene laughed. "Because that's the story about how we met."
Your eyes went wide, yourself smiling as your jaw hung open.
"Alright, my guess is it's storytime," Joe said, making himself comfortable in the Budweiser camp chair. "Back in the late 70s, me and my brothers decided we were gonna sneak into a Doobie Brothers concert with a few friends of ours."
"Summer of '79 right?" Irene queried.
"Yep," Joe replied. "Us five idiots had piled into the back of our friend's Vista Cruiser and headed off to the stadium to go see'em in Oklahoma City. Concert was great, until Chris decided he was gonna actually smoke a doobie."
You and Bob laughed a little bit. Bob's uncle, Chris, had always been the straight laced one in the family, a very well respected police officer just like Bob's brother, Michael.
"Anywho....." Irene said, giving her husband 'the look'.
"Anywho," Joe continued. "Chris is high out of his mind by the time the concert gets out and walks himself right into a fuckin lamp-post on the way back to the car. He's not moving of course, so we've gotta book it right to the hospital. We get there and the nurses completely freak so they test him and fin out he's concussed."
You and Bob both grimaced at the image.
"So us idiots are waiting," Joe explained. "When lo and behold I see this gorgeous lady coming in because a friend of theirs was so loaded that she ended up eating shit on the pavement."
You and Bob shouldn't have laughed, but you were, the two of you letting out a piggish snort.
"Oh my God," Irene laughed. "Cheryl Anne was more than loaded. She was giving the nurses a hard time and I needed some air."
"So she goes out and I'm thinking that maybe I should talk her up a little bit," Joe chuckled.
"Yeah, Chief Running-Of-The-Mouth is hitting on me while his partner, Afraid-Of-Crotch-Hair is near the dumpster and has just lit his pants on fire," Irene remarked.
"Nobody knew he had a lit roach in his pocket, dear," Joe reminded her.
By this time, you and Bob could barely breathe, let alone stop laughing. "Dad what the hell.....?" Bob squeaked in between laughing fits.
"Do you even remember what we were talking about that night?" Irene asked Joe.
"I think it had something to do with the furniture," Joe theorized. "You were leaning kinda funny on it."
"There was something else too," Irene added.
"What was that?" Joe asked her.
"Chris asked me when it was the two of us fell in love," Irene told him. "I told him it was while you were sleeping."
Joe's forehead came to rest against Irene's, and yours against Bob's. Who would have thought, that his father had found the same romance that the two of you had found all those years ago.

Estranged (Part 1/?)
Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw x Reader
A/n: pure fluff - this is a short and sweet one... I think I need to write more parts for this
Summary: Rooster's ex best friend aka. Iceman's daughter comes back to town
Tumblr media
You walk into the Hard Deck with Hangman and instantly head to the pool table.
You're making small talk with Bob who fades back into the background when human ken doll returns to your side.
"How was dinner?" Jake asks you about the family dinner you were dreading all week. The reason you text him to meet you here this evening.
"Awful." You respond with a sigh.
"Is your d-" Jake starts but you cut him off.
"I really don't want to talk about it. Please can we talk about anything other than that?" you snap slightly at your wingman.
He nods in understanding that you're here to get your mind off of what's going on at home.
"How was drinks with Bea?" you ask about a woman he picked up when you two went shopping for snacks after work last week.
He grimaces and you giggle in anticipation for whatever insane story he's about to sprout.
You hear the bell of the door opening and break his gaze, instinctively looking at who is walking in.
Every single thought leaves your head as a good looking guy in a Hawaiian shirt meanders over. He looks in your direction and you double take, feeling your heart pounding in your chest.
Realisation washes over you as your second glance confirms your worst thoughts, that is Bradley, the person you once considered to be your platonic soulmate.
Bradley got hot.
"Bradshaw as I live and breathe!" Hangman shouts over to him and you double take.
*
You don't acknowledge him until he follows you to the bar. He stands next to you and moves around until he meets your eye line.
"Were you planning on ignoring me all evening?" Bradley asks sliding closer to you.
You haven't spoken to him since you joined the Navy and moved away. You came back home for top gun, expecting him to be here but he had already enlisted and been deployed without telling you.
There was never a proper goodbye between the two of you, no monumental moment where you consciously decided to stop being friends.
"Hi Bradley." You say giving him a small smile.
"Hi." He responds voice gravely with a mixture of tiredness and alcohol.
It's followed by awkward silence that you're deeply unsure of how to fill.
You once knew everything there was to know about the man before you. Now you feel like strangers.
This is weird.
I'm uncomfortable.
The bar is so busy you know it's going to be a while before either of you are served.
You need to fill this silence; this is horrible.
Fucking say something Y/N, anything.
Your internal thoughts berate you until you open your mouth to talk.
Before you can say anything he speaks up, "12 o'clock is that or is that not the guy that Maddison hooked up with at Jeremy's sweet 16?"
You instantly look over and start laughing as the only person on your nose looks like a wannabe punk rocker - not her type and definitely not someone you went to school with.
"Clearly great taste runs in the family." You wink at him. You instantly regret that response and shake your head grimacing.
He laughs.
"How is your sister? I don't think I've seen her since that party." He theorises.
"She's good. She moved to Texas with her boyfriend from college. I feel like I haven't seen her since that party either." You reply.
"Ah cool, good for her. I never thought she'd leave here, I don't know why." He mutters but you know exactly why he thought that, because you thought that.
"Do you still keep in touch with Jeremy?" You query.
"Not at all! Do you?" he smiles eyebrows raised in intrigue.
"Oh yeah, we talk every day!" you retort sarcastically.
He shoves you playfully, ignoring your cold shoulder as keeps talking.
The silence returns like a wave to shore. You're mentally racking your brain for anything to say.
It'd feel wrong to start small talking with him like you're nothing.
"Do you remember when you shaved my eyebrows off?" He asks out of nowhere.
You giggle at the memory, unable to hold in your laughter.
"What on earth made you think about that?" You question in slight disbelief that he's here laughing with you.
"Don't look but the girl with Phoenix at the moment has totally shaved off her eyebrows to draw them on." He whispers. You instantly turn to look without any subtlety.
"Y/N" Bradley berates you for so brazenly turning.
"You can't say that and expect me not to look!" You try to reason with him.
"This may sound sort of crazy because we haven't seen each other in years but do you want to get out of here? It's really busy in here and I'm kind of hungry. I was thinking we could go to that diner your dad always used to take us to?" He proposes.
You hesitate.
"I know I fucked up. I'm sorry. I should've made more time for our friendship when you moved away. Instead I freaked out and ignored your calls." He says. "I was a shitty friend. If you want to stay here, there's no hard feelings." he adds.
"Thank you for saying sorry. I know that doesn't come easy to Mr Perfect." you tease, booping his nose with your finger. The nickname was bestowed upon him by your kindergarten teacher and you have never stopped ridiculing him for it.
"That should've been my callsign." He smirks jumping out of his seat to lead you to the door.

Hall Pass - Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Paring: Henry Cavill x Reader (RPF)
Series Summary: You run into Henry Cavill at the start of a two-week house-sitting vacation. You had some previous plans. Some were ruined by your now ex-boyfriend. Some were made better. Guess by whom?
Series Warnings: I’ll be honest, this whole thing is just self-indulgent smutty fluff. Here’s what I offer: meeting, making out, and having sex with Henry Cavill (rpf). I’m probably NOT going to be adding chapter warnings unless I get a bug to re-write and something worms it’s way into the story that I wasn’t expecting.
A/N: I started this story shortly after the fiasco of The Witcher and Superman announcements. I thought about how great it would be to try and cheer him up a little. For the purposes of this story, he is single. No hate to anyone in his life right now, in whatever way you imagine that to be. I also understand if you do not read rpf. Feel free to scroll on by. I don’t need to hear about it.
This was going to be a looooong one-shot, but solicited feedback prompted me to break it up for you.
Playlist: I will add to Spotify with each chapter.
Word Count: 3.8K
Chapter 1

In the morning, the smell of freshly brewed coffee forced your eyes open. You hoped you had enough time to shower before heading out to say goodbye to Henry. Plus you needed to tame the lingering fantasy from your dreams the night before. Somehow while reaching for the bottle of body wash on the floor of the tight shower cubicle you almost slipped and fell out, cursing loudly and grabbing on to the shower curtain, praying it held while you found your balance again. You heard a sharp knock at the bedroom door.
“Everything alright in there?” Henry called.
“It’s fine! I’m fine. I’ll be right out,” you hollered back from the bathroom.
You tried to hurry while still taking your time to keep your footing. One more quick rinse, then a dry off with a fluffy towel and you were back in the room slipping into fleece-lined leggings and a comfy oversized sweater.
He had another fire roaring in the great room and was sitting next to two mugs of coffee at the breakfast bar.
“Good morning! I heard a shout when I came to see how you took your coffee. Everything okay?”
“Oh, just clumsy me. I’m fine. And black is fine, thank you very much.” You glanced at your watch. So little time left.
“Yeah, I should probably get going soon. The store said 10 and I recall it was about 30 minutes out?” You nodded in response to his query. “Yeah, so a quick cup and then I should run.”
You hoped your face hadn’t fallen too low. Could you fake a need in town so you could head in with him? Ooh, go back for the honey! No, too desperate.
“Henry?” Might as well try, desperate or not.
“Yes?”
“Do you… where you’re staying… Is there any reason…Would you want to…I mean, there’s a table that gets good natural light you could take over and work on your model…oh, but Kal…shoot, nevermind.”
“Were you offering this farm as my hiatus home?”
“Yes? I mean, you could take up more space than a table. Plus the grounds are inspiring to wander around. And the goats. You barely had time to meet them while you were making out with the horses yesterday.”
Henry gave a hearty chuckle. “That’s really sweet of you. Very kind. But I’ve got…”
“Yeah, right, of course. Ignore me. Please. This must be so weird for you. A total stranger offering you a room in a home that isn’t even hers.”
“Well, I wouldn’t call you a total stranger and I’ve often found that Henrys make the best friends, but yes, I do have Kal and my assistant to think about.”
“Yeah, of course. No worries.”
You offered to jot down the directions back to town while you finished your coffee with Henry. He asked you to text him the details instead, reciting his cell number for you.
“I can trust you won't just go handing this out now, right?”
“Never!” You clutched your chest in mock dismay.
Too few moments later, you waved down the drive with a bittersweet smile on your face as you watched him go, then turned to re-enter the house and settle into your non-anniversay day. It had started out so lovely, but now that you were alone…
Oh, but not! You shifted gears and headed into the barn, where Caleb was mucking stalls.
“Did you have a visitor last night?” the old man greeted you with a cheerful smile.
“Sort of? The strangest thing…”
“And where’s your better half this morning?” He watched your face fall and tried to recover. “Everything okay?”
“It will be.” You paused for a moment. “We’re done. He just couldn’t tear himself away from work, not even for our anniversary.”
“That stinks. I’m so sorry. Was that him I heard leaving just now?”
“Not exactly…” you hedged as Caleb laughed at your reticence.
“Okay, well, keep your secrets then,” he winked. “Want to help out here?”
You jumped at the chance to get a little more familiar with the care and handling of the horses. Caleb helped you lead Mikka and Sadie into the field. You asked if you could have Butterscotch saddled for a ride in a little bit, which meant Telly would stick nearby. He never went far without her. Caleb recommended waiting to saddle the horse until the work was done so she wasn’t uncomfortable for the duration. The manual labor kept your mind off both Henry and your ex for the time being. As soon as the stalls were done, you headed back inside to pack some provisions for the afternoon. When you headed back out to the barn, you turned your attention to the goats who were ready for mid-morning nibbles.
Caleb was just about to saddle Butterscotch when a familiar vehicle wound its way up the drive.
“Holy shit,” you whispered under your breath.
“Any idea who this is now? Wait, isn’t that the SUV I saw on my way in?”
“Sure is,” you were almost beaming. Henry Cavill was driving back up the road to you with what looked like a large bear in the passenger seat.
Henry parked and stepped out of the car, making his way toward you and offering a hand to Caleb in greeting.
“Good afternoon! I’m Henry. You must be the horse master?”
“Sure am. Name’s Caleb. Nice to meet you.”
“Henry, what on earth are you doing back here?” you asked.
“Well, I got to thinking. First of all, we forgot to grab some photos for your hosts. And second, why would I spend my hiatus in a fancy hotel in the city, when I could just as easily enjoy this beautiful country-side? If the offer still stands, that is.”
“You a photographer or something?” Caleb asked, and it was all you could do not to laugh at the older gentleman.
“Uh, no. Nope. Not a photographer,” Henry smiled.
“Caleb, Henry forgot to give you his last name. Seems that’s his schtick. This is Henry Cavill, he’s an actor. Plays Superman,” you offered, thinking it would be the easiest character for Caleb to identify with.
“Well, played, yes,” Henry countered and you almost fainted from embarrassment. Of course! He’d just had some terrible news about that role. And after leaving The Witcher, no less. Poor guy was having a hard time of it lately.
“Oh, yeah. Think I knew that. Well, what’s a big Hollywood celebrity doing all the way out here?” Caleb asked.
“I was picking up some items from a store nearby when I got sidetracked and wound up at this wonderful farm last night. And now I’m hoping I can impose for a little while longer.” He smiled at you with a genuine sincerity and you couldn’t stop grinning back. Suddenly a sharp bark sounded from the SUV.
“Oh, yes, and Kal! Caleb, are the horses good with strange dogs? I’d love to let him run free, but happy to keep him inside if it’s a problem?” Henry asked.
“As long as he’s good with horses, they’re good with him. Sadie and MIkka are out in the pasture right now, but Telly and Butterscotch can show him around.”
While Henry retrieved Kal from the car and introduced him to you and Caleb, an idea began to form and before you knew it you were giving it voice.
“Caleb, would it be too much trouble to saddle Telly as well? If Henry’s up for it, I’d love to take him for a ride this afternoon,” you gave a questioning glance toward Henry, hiding your panic that he might think you were once again insinuating a different kind of activity altogether.
“Oh, well if it’s not too much trouble for Caleb, that would be a wonderful treat.” If he did notice the double entendre, he wasn’t showing it.
“Sure. Happy to saddle ‘em up for you. Think you can get ‘em untacked when you're back?”
You nodded, noticing Henry did as well, and Caleb proceeded to get the horses ready for you while you led Henry back into the house.
“Oh, and here, for you” Henry handed you a small brown paper bag. You opened it and peered in to find two jars of honey. “I wasn’t sure which flavor you preferred, so I just asked Josh if I could have one of each.”
“Well, thank you!” You put the honey in the kitchen and continued down the hall to drop Henry’s bags in his guest room. While he used the bathroom, you took the time to gather a few more items to add to the bag you’d already packed to take with you on your ride, then led Henry back out to the barn.
“Alright, you two. I’ll be back this evening to gather the other two and get them all in the barn for the night. See you later!”
You waved as Caleb took off, then headed into the barn to grab a helmet. Henry followed.
“Do you think I could borrow a helmet as well?”
“Oh, I didn’t even think. I usually wear one because, you know,” you gestured to yourself, “clumsy. But I didn’t want to assume, since you ride so often.”
“Well, it’s always a good idea to take precautions, I think. Maybe just to stay on the safe side,” he winked at you. Or tried to.
Once you were settled in the saddles, Henry asked where to.
“There are a few different paths around the property. If you don’t mind, I’d like to take an easy ride through the pasture and around the woods.”
“Sounds just fine.”
Henry and Telly fell in line with you as you led Butterscotch down the lane and into the field at a slow pace. Kal ran ahead and returned every so often to make sure he was headed in the same direction you were. You asked Henry how he managed to switch up his plans.
“I just felt so welcome and unbothered here last night, I really didn’t want our time to end. I called my assistant and had her bring Kal to meet me in town. Gave her the rest of the hiatus off and hoped for the best. I just texted her while I was settling my things in the guest room to go ahead and cancel the suite as well, since it seems I have another lodging option now.”
A warmth spread from the tip of your head to your toes. Henry Cavill wanted to spend more time with you. It seemed you wanted the same. You let your sincere smile speak for itself and enjoyed the rest of the ride in a serene quiet, listening for the sounds of nature instead. Every so often, you snuck a glance to see if the videos you'd watched online did any justice to the way this man sat in the saddle.
They did not.
Soon, you turned Butterscotch to enter a small copse of trees and Telly followed suit, barely requiring a nudge from Henry’s reins. A short distance in, you pulled to a stop and turned to see how Henry was reacting to the landscape in front of him.
“What in the world…?” he marveled.
“It’s a small natural hot spring. The next town over is famous for them. There’s a hotel, spa, roman bath house, the whole works. It’s their tourist draw. My friends were lucky enough to find this small pocket on their land. They set the flagstones surrounding the pool and even created some stone seats once you step in.” You paused, realizing Henry had just told you how unbothered he felt here and now it seemed you were making a play to see him practically naked. “If you want to, that is, no pressure at all.”
“Well I don’t know if I’m prepared…”
“I snagged a pair of swim trunks while you were settling in,” you admitted, sheepishly. “I was already packed and getting ready to head out here when you showed up. I really hope you don’t mind.”
“How could I mind? And the water’s safe?”
“Absolutely. They test it just about every week, but it stays consistently warm and without bacteria. It’s really a wonder!”
“Well alright then. Let’s do it!” Henry smiled wide and dismounted with such ease you were almost embarrassed to get down in front of him.
It honestly felt like you were flopping yourself to the ground every time you got off a horse. But once you were on solid ground, Henry approached to help you unpack the saddle bags. You let the horses saunter around the clearing, trusting Butterscotch to keep Telly close.
“There doesn’t seem to be a changing room out here,” he joked, making a show of looking around.
“Yes, well. I thought you could just step behind that rather large pine over there and change while I get in. There’s no one around for miles, I swear it.”
Henry accepted the trunks and towel you offered, then marched off to the makeshift dressing room. You set the food and drink you’d packed on the side of the spring, then peeled off your clothes down to your bathing suit and stepped in, sitting quickly to fend off the brisk, wintery air, keeping your back towards Henry, lest he actually be too big to fit behind the tree as well.
In a moment, you heard a rustle and footsteps heading your way, so you turned and almost lost your breath. He was striding toward you, jeans and sweater in hand, towel draped around his neck, and looking just fine in the borrowed swim shorts. They fit him snuggly and it may have been the best idea you’d ever had, short of actually inviting him to stay with you at the farm.
As he got closer, you moved to the far side of the spring to give him room to enter. He sat and released the same satisfied sigh you had when you first entered the warm water.
“I didn’t realize how chilly the air had gotten until you had me strip naked behind a tree. But this is just phenomenal.”
You laughed and apologized, but he waved it off.
“I’m glad you suggested this. It’s a welcome treat. And I see you have champagne?”
“Yes, well. My plan was to come out here and drown my sorrows alone…”
“Oh, right! Ah, today’s the actual day, is it?”
“Was. Yes. So would you care to toast the demise of my most recent blunder with me?”
“Absolutely. And his loss, by the way. Absolutely.”
You ducked with a sudden shyness and took a sip of the champagne.
“Did you also bring strawberries for this? That’s a pretty standard anniversary thing, isn’t it?” Henry teased with a wink.
“I would have if they didn’t wreck my insides. I can’t stomach the tiny seeds. But here,” you turned and grabbed a small container to open and hand over. “Have some grapes?”
Henry thanked you and grabbed a few, then apologized if his strawberry joke was in poor taste.
“You had no idea. How could it be?” you assured him.
“You know, I’ve been meaning to thank you.”
“Thank me? For what?”
“For not treating me like a celebrity. With kid gloves and as if the whole world revolves around me. It’s been refreshing from the moment you bumped into me. You’ve listened to my ramblings about my hobbies and haven’t asked once about that Witcher fiasco. Or Superman for that matter. It made it very easy for me to accept your offer of a few weeks of quiet country time and I really appreciate it.”
“Confession?”
“Yours or mine?” he asked.
“Mine.”
“Ok, go.”
“You’re my Hall Pass.”
“I’m sorry?”
“Hall Pass. It’s like…”
“Yes, I think I’m aware, but you aren’t in a relationship anymore, right. Not since the very minute we met, if I’m not mistaken. Do you need a pass now?”
“No. No I suppose I don’t.”
“Good. Because I really wouldn’t want this to ruin anything you’ve got going.”
You blinked your eyes with confusion. “This?” you asked, not sure if you were afraid he would give you the answer you assumed he’d give, which was something along the lines of anything that hinted he had no real interest in you. Or if you were afraid he’d give you the answer you hoped for and that he meant he had the same undeniable attraction to you as you had to him.
He licked his lips, tilted his head, and furrowed his brow ever so slightly. You could see the way his mind sought the right words.
“I suppose it’s my turn to apologize and hope I’m not being terribly forward when I say that I don’t mind saying I’d like to kiss you.”
You blinked again trying to decipher the words that sounded like a jumble and yet also appeared to mean exactly what you wanted them to when combined with the sexy drop in his voice and the way he leaned in ever so slightly.
Don’t shake your head to clear the cobwebs, you idiot. But do something soon so he doesn’t regret what he’s just said.
“I think I’d like that, too,” you managed to whisper, afraid of the tremble you were sure would accompany the regular volume of your voice as he inched closer.
“Is now okay?” and he waited just long enough to see you nod before he bent his head left and captured your lips between his.
It was sweet and warm, a tender, gentle touch. At first. But the groan that escaped his throat as you swiped your tongue across his bottom lip when you very much couldn’t hold back sent shivers down your spine and a heat wave through your core. Henry placed a hand against your neck to hold you firmly in place as he tilted your head back and answered your silent ask with his own deepening of the kiss, tongue swirling into you.
The various ways you imagined kissing Henry Cavill could go each time you pressed play on one of his movies or shows did absolutely no justice to the real thing. And maybe you were naive, but this didn’t feel like an “acting kiss.” No, this was real, at least for you. Every tingle, every spark, every butterfly struggling for release. And yours wasn’t the only body reacting.
Henry pressed closer, pushed you gently against the side of the small pool, one hand behind your back to cushion you against the stones. You felt his knee wedge between your thighs and when your hand touched his side to hold him close you could swear you felt goosebumps. But that must just be the cold air.
Suddenly he pulled you away from the wall, backing himself up to the other side and dragging his hands down your back before lifting you onto his lap and coaxing your legs to either side of his thighs. He never once let go of your mouth, so you had no choice but to moan wantonly into his as you could now feel what else this kiss was doing to him.
His hands roamed your body, fingers pressing and squeezing gently before settling on the small of your back so he could shift you closer into the grind of his hips. After a few moments of even more passionate kissing with heads tilting back and forth in a carefully choreographed dance of lips and tongue, you felt him pull back and reluctantly let go.
“If we don’t stop, I’ll likely come right in these borrowed pants and I wouldn’t want to mess with the pH of the hot spring,” Henry confessed with a little sadness in his voice. “I’m sorry, I know I started that.”
“Please stop apologizing to me,” you answered kindly, attempting to retreat to the opposite side of the spring. “If nothing else, on my darkest days I can at least remind myself of a hot tub makeout session with Henry Cavill.”
Henry didn’t let go.
“Oh, well, I was hoping…I mean, is it presumptuous of me to imagine there could be something else, more than … well.” The way he simply stood up as he shifted your legs to wrap around his waist and turned to set you on the ledge. “Is the air too cold for this?”
“I have a feeling you can take care of that,” you grinned, accepting his arms around your shoulders as he bent for another taste of your lips. All his residual body heat was keeping you warm and even if it wasn’t, your mind was decidedly on other things for the entire time his mouth was on yours.
Suddenly, your phone’s alarm sounded and you jumped, knocking your head against his once again.
“Shit! Sorry! That caught me by surprise,” you apologized.
“That phone seems to cause you more trouble than it’s worth,” he teased, letting you free so you could stand up and grab your cell from the bag.
“Oh, I'd rather say this phone has provided me a unique experience," you replied before glancing down to silence the alarm. "Oh…fuck,” you tried to keep your flash of concern to a whisper but Henry heard.
“Everything alright?” he asked, already slipped back into the warm water where you also wished you could be at the moment.
“Uh, yeah. It’s…oh, god. I swear. You are going to think I am just trying to take all kinds of advantage of you,” you offered, while wrapping yourself in a towel to stay warm.
“I mean, I’m not exactly protesting here, am I?”
“No, I suppose not. But this whole day is just..okay, well it was supposed to be an anniversary date, if you recall. So what’s happening now is that we need to pack up and head back to the house because in sixty minutes I have a massage booked.” You grimmaced, hoping it didn’t sound like just another excuse to be next-to-naked next to Henry Cavill. “I could just cancel, eat the fee, it’s not a big deal…”
“Absolutely not. Unless that’s what you want to do. This is your day, right?” He watched you nod. “And do you want to have a massage?”
What you wanted was to continue your time with Henry in a hot spring, but you had also shelled out some major bucks to schedule two in-home 90-minute massages for you and your dolt of an ex. Canceling now would mean losing the entire fee. And Henry was here for another two weeks. There’d be plenty of time to get back here, literally and figuratively, if that’s where things were really going to head.
Plus, the stress of everything over the last several months left you longing for the sensation of palms and knuckles and fingers kneading into deep tissue to release stubborn tension. You could send one of them home, maybe. Eat that cost. Unless…
“Would you be interested in one as well?”
Henry paused for a moment. “There might be some things to consider with that…ah, fuck it. Why not?”

The following day, you woke up to the faint aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air and, as soon as you walked out of the bedroom, you saw Cillian standing by the kitchen counter, meticulously preparing breakfast. His attention to detail never ceases to amaze you; it's one of many things that attracted you to him initially.
"Good morning sleeping beauty!" he greeted you cheerfully, flashing a radiant smile your direction.
"Morning, gorgeous!" you smiled in response as Cillian's eyes gleamed brightly, reflecting the genuine fondness he harbored for you.
You reciprocated his greeting with equal enthusiasm, basking in the warm glow of his affectionate disposition.
"Sleep well?" he queried, placing a soft boiled egg on your plate before setting down a set of cutlery adjacent to it.
"Like a log," you chimed, gratefully accepting the sumptuous meal awaiting consumption.
"Good, because we have a big day ahead of us," Cillian remarked, pouring a tall glass of orange juice to accompany your breakfast.
"Oh yeah? Care to elaborate?" you prodded and, much to your surprise, Cillian had already arranged to view at least three properties that afternoon.
"I called my buyer's agent this morning and he found a few suitable properties for us to look at today," Cillian revealed, demonstrating his commitment to ensuring you both have a comfortable home for your new family.
"That sounds great, but I didn't expect this to happen so fast. Shouldn't we wait a little longer?" you pondered aloud, furrowing your eyebrows.
"You are pregnant, so there is no reason to delay us moving to a bigger place, right? We should make preparations sooner rather than later," Cillian argued logically, seeing that you had already agreed to move in with him two weeks ago, as part of the visa process.
"Alright, alright," you acquiesced reluctantly, conceding to his persuasive reasoning before indulging on your breakfast.
With each bite, the realization of impending parenthood sunk deeper into your consciousness and, slowly, but surely, you became anxious again.
Pregnancy wasn't merely about the physical transformation occurring within your body; it was a mental, emotional, and psychological journey as well. What sort of mom would you be? Would you be able to provide a stable environment for your child? How would you manage your career aspirations simultaneously? So many questions, so few answers.
Seeing your distress, Cillian attempted to comfort you, squeezing your hand lightly under the table. "Hey, everything's gonna be fine, remember? We're doing this together," he reminded you, a concerned expression marring his otherwise jovial demeanor.
"I know, but I never expected to be in this situation. My mother gave me up when we came to America and I wonder what it will be like for me to have my own child. I might not know what to do or maybe I won't cope," you admitted honestly, staring blankly at the empty plate in front of you.
The thought of becoming a mother, particularly when you hadn't experienced it firsthand, frightened you somewhat. But, at the same time, you couldn't deny the overwhelming longing inside you, eager to nurture and care for your offspring.
Gently, Cillian brushed your hair aside, exposing your neck. Leaning forward, he placed a soft kiss on your pulse point, whispering sweet words of encouragement into your ear.
"You'll be perfect, Y/N. You will be a wonderful mother," he assured you, his tone soothing and comforting.
The warmth of his breath against your skin relaxed you somewhat, alleviating some of the pressure mounting within. You exhaled deeply, surrendering to the safety offered by his unwavering support.
"Thank you," you whispered sincerely, your grip tightened around his hand.
"For what?" Cillian questioned, genuinely curious about the source of gratitude emanating from you.
"For believing in me," you clarified, smiling weakly just as Nina barged through the front door along with Danielle, startling you both.
"They got Kit! They arrested her!" Nina exclaimed excitedly, rushing towards Cillian with her phone clutched tightly in her hand.
"Where?" Cillian asked eagerly, jumping up from his seat and snatching the phone away from Nina. He scanned the screen quickly and saw a message from the Gardai officer who was in charge of the investigation against her.
The message itself was vague but stated that she was arrested in Galway and will now be charged with assault against Nina.
Cillian read the message over and over again, disbelief evident on his face while you ran your hand over Nina's shoulder to comfort her.
"Are you okay?" you asked her quietly, your tone laced with concern. Nina nodded, unable to form coherent words for several seconds.
"I'm glad that she's behind bars," Nina managed after regaining composure. "She deserves everything coming for her."
Danielle stepped forward, her gaze fixated on Cillian. "What happens now?" she enquired, her voice trembling slightly. "With the press I mean," she continued, and Cillian hesitated before replying cautiously.
"I don't know yet," he said. He looked thoughtful for a moment, his forehead creasing slightly. Finally, he turned to Nina. "Have you told anyone about the incident?" he then went on to ask and Nina shook her head, avoiding eye contact, embarrassed by the memories resurfacing.
"We'll deal with it when the time comes," Cillian interjected, taking notice of Nina's discomfort. He closed his eyes briefly, collecting his thoughts.
"With your upcoming press engagements in the US, this could turn into a shitshow," Danielle pointed out, voicing fears that lingered in Cillian's mind. However, the question remained whether any information about Kit assaulting Nina had leaked to the media.
"Maybe we shouldn't press charges," Danielle suggested tentatively, meeting disapproving looks from everyone present.
"No. If I don't stand up for myself and others involved, people like Kit will continue victimizing others," Nina spoke up bravely, addressing her mother directly. "Despite, the public needs to know the kind of person she really is after what she did to dad," Nina went on to say, causing Cillian to shake his head.
"Don't worry about me, sweetheart. I can handle the press, but I want to keep you out of it. You should press charges against Kit, but you should not talk to the press about it, alright?" Cillian insisted, placing a protective hand on Nina's shoulder.
"But then people won't know the whole truth," Nina protested, fidgeting uncomfortably under his touch.
"Unfortunately, sometimes that's exactly how it works, but it doesn't matter. I don't care about what people have to say about me and neither should you," Cillian sighed heavily, attempting to alleviate the burden weighing down on Nina's shoulders.
Nina gazed at her father intently, absorbing every word he spoke. She paused momentarily before mustering resolve. "Okay, I understand," she said, managing a weak smile while Danielle pursed her lips carefully, mulling over the implications of such a decision.
"I will take Nina to the station then," Danielle announced resolutely, gathering her belongings before telling you both that it would probably be better for Nina to stay with her for the next two weeks in case the press gets wind of this, which was something Cillian agreed with.
Cillian himself had to travel for work in the coming days, promoting his movie Oppenheimer which was scheduled for release in less than two weeks and, whilst you had hoped for Nina to keep you company at Cillian's apartment for an entire week during which he was gone, you understood why it would be better for Nina to be with her mother during this time.
Unfortunately for you, you could not come with Cillian to his premieres as your immigration status made it impossible for you to leave Ireland while a new visa was being processed.
As much as you wanted to be by your partner's side, supporting him during these crucial events, you had to settle for staying put in Dublin and watching the live streamings online instead.
Luckily, you had plenty on your plate to occupy your mind and spirit, especially after receiving some unexpected news from the doctor earlier that week and, with that in mind, after you went shopping for real estate later that day, you also went shopping for a qualified and experienced obstetrician.  After all, you wanted nothing less than the best for your baby and, considering Cillian's status, getting an appointment was not exactly difficult.
Thus, the following day, you made your way to meet Dr. O'Reilly, the highly recommended obstetrician known for providing exceptional prenatal care.
***
Your heartbeat quickened as you neared the imposing building housing the clinic, apprehension knotting your gut.
"You're going to be fine!" you murmured inwardly, willing yourself to believe those reassuring words.
Finally, you summoned strength, pushed open the heavy doors leading into the reception area with Cillian in tow.
The space brimmed with women at different stages of pregnancy, accompanied by partners or friends offering moral support.
Despite the crowd, a sense of camaraderie permeated the atmosphere, fostering feelings of unity among mothers-to-be.
"My nerves are shot," you confided nervously into Cillian's ear as you both sat down in the waiting room.
He grasped your hand reassuringly, his thumb rubbing circles on your knuckles.
"Take a deep breath," Cillian replied calmly, peering downwards at your belly which had not grown yet, although he begged to differ. "You're doing brilliantly," he then reassured you and you swallowed thickly, forcing yourself to focus on anything but the agonizing minutes passing by.
Eventually, you were both called into the consultation room where you met Dr. O'Reilly, a distinguished woman with graying hair and an empathetic gaze.
Her presence immediately instilled confidence in you, prompting you to relax marginally.
You exchanged pleasantries before settling down for the examination portion of the visit.
Dr. O'Reilly handled the encounter professionally and attentively, discussing your medical history and asking relevant questions concerning your pregnancy which, unsurprisingly, she categorized as high risk.
"Now, I can see that you work as a dancer for play at the Abbey Theatre, correct?" she enquired politely, referring to the information you provided beforehand.
"Yeah, I perform four nights per week," you confirmed, shifting uncomfortably in your seat, feeling self-conscious.
"Well, you need to cease your employment immediately then, I am afraid," Dr. O'Reilly informed you bluntly, observing your reaction closely.
She noticed your sudden intake of breath and added sympathetically, "I understand it may seem drastic, but the demands of dancing coupled with the stress of advanced training will jeopardize your health and the wellbeing of your unborn child. Your pregnancy is high risk due to the surgeries you have had earlier this year and, quite frankly, I am surprised that you fell pregnant in the first place," the doctor informed you.
"Wait," you objected, raising his hands defensively. "Couldn't we get more tests done, or consult with a second physician? Surely there has to be a solution that allows me to continue working?" you asked, but Dr. O'Reilly shook her head decisively, unmoved by your pleading while Cillian stiffened visibly beside you, clearly perturbed by the unexpected development.
"There isn't. In fact, continuing with your dance routine increases the chances of miscarriage dramatically," Dr. O'Reilly explained patiently, scrutinizing your face for signs of comprehension.
"But what about modifications? Can't I adapt my routines somehow?" you persisted stubbornly, reluctant to relinquish your performing ambitions without a fight. You knew that the consequences of disobeying the doctor's orders would likely result in serious repercussions for both you and your growing fetus. Yet, the prospect of abandoning the stage filled you with dread.
"Y/N, listen," Cillian interrupted gently, reading your restlessness. "It's only for nine months and you can take it back up afterwards. I will stay home with the baby if you want me to so that you can go back to work," Cillian offered generously, trying to ease your worries.
However, the idea of putting your entire career on hold was unthinkable, especially since you were gaining traction in the entertainment industry.
"Cillian, I appreciate your offer, but I don't want to abandon my dreams so easily. There must be another way," you implored earnestly, gripping his arm tightly.
"Y/N, you know there isn't," Cillian responded firmly but compassionately and, immediately, you stared down at your stomach, caressing it tenderly. Inside, your tiny bundle of cells grew stronger, unaware of the challenges lying ahead. As painful as it was, you knew that giving up dancing meant embracing a future beyond the lights and applause.
"Now, do you want to see your baby?" Dr. O'Reilly prompted kindly, sensing your inner turmoil.
Cillian reached out and squeezed your hand encouragingly, spurring you to nod affirmatively.
With a gentle push, Dr. O'Reilly guided you onto the exam table, positioning the ultrasound machine above your abdomen.
"Here we go," she hummed happily, applying gel onto the transducer probe before sliding it across your tummy.
The grainy image appeared on the monitor, showcasing the dark void of the abdominal cavity and the vivid outline of your uterine wall.
You watched curiously as Dr. O'Reilly maneuvered the wand effortlessly, adjusting the angle until a black orb emerged from the shadows.
"This is your yolk sac," she introduced, pointing to the circular structure nestled amid swirling patterns resembling a cosmic landscape. It seemed almost unreal to contemplate the existence of another human thriving beneath your skin.
"And here," Dr. O'Reilly indicated proudly, directing your attention toward a tiny blob illuminated by a brilliant light.
"Your embryo!" she exclaimed excitedly, tracing the silhouette with her index finger before turning on the sound of the machine.
A steady thump echoed throughout the room, mimicking the rhythmic cadence of life itself.
"That's your baby's heartbeat!" Dr. O'Reilly declared joyously, sharing a knowing glance with Cillian as you pressed your palm against the monitor, marveling at the miracle unfolding before your very eyes.
"Is it too early to determine the sex?" Cillian ventured delicately, a hint of curiosity sparking in his eyes.
"Yes, it is still too early to tell. We shall try our luck at the twenty-week scan though," Dr. O'Reilly affirmed with a warm smile, adjusting the dials once more.
You listened keenly to the amplified heartbeat reverberating through the speakers, savoring the precious moments spent admiring the magic hidden within your womb.
You glanced sideways at Cillian, whose eyes mirrored a profound blend of awe and tenderness. His fingers intertwined with yours, strengthening the invisible bonds forming between you and your child.
"I can't believe that we are actually going to be parents" Cillian whispered, his voice hushed reverentially.
"Me neither," you nodded, swallowing hard as tears welled up in your eyes. This was real—a living, breathing entity connected to you in ways you could never have imagined.
"I love you," you breathed out to Cillian softly, patting your abdomen lovingly.
"I love you too," Cillian murmured back, running his fingers across your lower back. The pair of you were lost in a world of happiness mixed with fear and uncertainty about the future. It was a delicate balance that required constant nurturing.
***
In the days that followed, Cillian encouraged you to step away from dancing and focus on yourself and the baby before heading to London to promote his new movie.
By that time, you had found a house, one you both liked and, instead of working, you made plans to design and decorate the classical home which you both fell in love with.
After all, the property needed some renovation before you could even think about moving in but that suited you just fine. Not only could you use your creative skills to make the house feel like your own, but you could also fill the time until the baby arrived with meaningful activities.
To begin the project, you searched Pinterest for inspiration and then spammed Cillian with photos while he was away. You had ideas for the living space and a nursery already and, whilst Cillian wanted to replace the dated kitchen, you did not consider this to be necessary.
Instead, you planned to bring in rustic wood countertops, reclaimed barnwood accents, and farmhouse sink, blending old-world charm with modern functionality.
Every morning, you woke up early enough to grab your laptop and sit on the floor, sketching ideas and brainstorming potential designs while Cillian was busy doing interviews.
Sometimes, you would send him a photo of your sketches and, surprisingly, he would reply promptly with his opinions and suggestions before, one day, at around 4 o'clock, just as you were chatting with Cillian over the phone about plans for a nursery, his son Max arrived unexpectedly, barging through the door.
Having just turned 17, Max usually did his own thing and, since he moved in with his grandmother in Cork a few months ago to attend a special music school there, you had not seen him.
"Max," you gasped in surprise, jumping up from the cushions you had spread out on the carpet, wondering how much he had heard about your conversation.
"You are fucking pregnant?" Max blurted out as you hung up on his father. He stood motionless in the doorway, eyes glued to the spot where you had been sitting only moments before. "Unbelievable," he muttered under his breath, crossing his arms over his chest defensively.
"Uhm...listen...it's still early and we wanted to wait to..." you stammered, flustered by his abrupt arrival and wondered what he thought of this unexpected news?
"You really played that well, didn't you," Max interrupted your sentence harshly, taking a few steps further into the room, and narrowing his eyes suspiciously.
"Played what well, Max?" you asked, confused by his outburst. "None of this was planned," you went on to say before being cut off again.
"Yeah, right," Max scoffed, shaking his head skeptically. "And now you are all set up, aren't you? A nice house, not having to work and, maybe, when he can finally divorce mum, he might even marry you. Well played," he said sarcastically, casting doubt on your sincerity.
"I swear to God, Max, I..." you began to hastily defend yourself, startled by his allegations and wondering whether he thought that you were simply after his father's status and wealth.
"I can promise you that things aren't like that," you then told him but were interrupted once more.
"Oh, sure," Max retorted dismissively, rolling his eyes skeptically.
"Where is dad anyway? I need to see him because I cannot live with grandma anymore. She is too fucking strict,"
Max whined, shuffling closer to you with his guitar case hanging low from his shoulder.
"So, you came to Dublin alone? What about your classes?" you asked, wondering if he missed them or skipped out entirely. "Does your nan know that you are here?" you also wanted to know, hoping that she would not be worried about him.
"Fuck classes and fuck her," Max snapped impatiently, striding past you towards the fridge, opening it and grabbing a cold drink. He gulped loudly, leaving half of it in the bottle before slamming it on the counter.
"What's wrong with your classes?" you pressed, concerned that he might lose valuable opportunities.
"What do you care? You aren't my mother," Max retorted sharply, scrunching up his nose in disgust. "Despite, I am not going to take advise from someone who is barely older than me," he challenged, shooting you a bitter look.
"Max, I'm sorry, but you need to be reasonable here...." you started, searching for the right words in response to his accusations.
"I need to reasonable? Me? Fucking reasonable?" Max chuckled. "You are 23. You are pregnant with my dad's kid after a couple of months? He is 47 for Christ's sake," Max spat out venomously, slinging words full of anger at you like stones hurled from a catapult.
"Max, please, calm down..." you pleaded, desperate to break through his defensive shell, but he wouldn't have a bar of it.
"Just shut up, alright?" Max grumbled gruffly, turning his back in defiance, by which point you had enough.
"Look, I don't know what your problem is, but you've got it all wrong," you seethed, jabbing a finger in his direction. "This was not part of some master plan, okay? I fell in love with your dad, plain and simple, and suddenly we ended up pregnant. That's it!" you shouted, waving your arms wildly for emphasis. Your heart pounded furiously in your chest, threatening to burst free as anxiety consumed you. You feared that he wouldn't buy your explanation and would label you a gold digger or opportunist.
"I swear, Max, I genuinely love your dad," you tried to convince him, holding your breath, praying that he would trust you before suggesting driving him to his mother's house.
"I am not going to her house. If you don't want to be in the same room with me, then you leave. This is my apartment," Max huffed, swinging around to face you, jaw clenched tight and it was at this point that you couldn't take it anymore.
"You know what Max? I can't do this right now," you spat out, turning abruptly and storming towards the front door.
"Where are you going?" Max demanded, snapping at your heels like a pack of wolves cornering their prey.
"I'm leaving, just like you asked" you growled defiantly, struggling to maintain composure before grabbing your belonging and barging out through the front door.
