Pennies For Your Thoughts

Money dropped from the sky today. No, I’m serious, it totally dropped from thin air. I was filling up my water bottle this evening, as one of my nightly chores. I was pouring my 5 gallon bottle into smaller water bottles so I can keep them in the fridge and drink them later. I was squatting and pouring the water when one single bhat(3 cents USD) fell right next to me. 

It made a loud noise and circled around in one spot, as change does when it’s thrown down. I watched it perplexed as to from where it came. Did I have it in my hand when I grabbed the bottle? Did it fly out of my pocket when I knelt down? Could it have dropped from something hanging around my house? Although, I had no pockets, I had nothing in my hands and there was nothing but the blank egg shell colored walls of my home. 

Dorothy, my step-dad’s late mother, used to say that angels leave coins to show they love you. She said a coin with the heads up are left by our loved ones beyond the veil. I walked over to the coin with my eyes shut. I wanted it to be heads up, I wanted it to be from Diogo. 

I felt bad if it was any angel other than Diogo, as I give him credit for everything right now. In some ways I didn’t want it to open my eyes as it would break my heart to see a worthless tails sided coin. I really wanted it to be communication from him. 

I opened my eyes, “You could have dropped a larger coin, even in heaven you’re cheap!” I said to the empty room as I picked up the coin with the heads up.

ANCIENT CHAT (PARALLEL CANON) Grey: *goes over and sits down beside chair unhappily* Crowley: *smiles and drags Grey over* Cheer up grumpy. Grey: *is dragged into Crowley's lap, squirming around to get comfortable* Little hard to cheer up in light of recent events... Crowley: *he presses a kiss to Grey's cheek* Forget I said anything Grey: *frowns* How exactly am I supposed to forget something like that? Grey: I know Purgatory, it's dangerous and it shouldn’t be opened. Crowley: You could think about something else? Grey: *sulks* Crowley: It doesn't do well to dwell Grey: I'm worried, I'm not going to stop being worried either because I know I have a perfectly legitimate reason to be that way. *he bites his lip looking a little bit scared* Crowley: But you see, I'm not worried. Because I will always survive. Grey: *he socks Crowley lightly in his shoulder* Don't tempt Fate. Crowley: *he catches Grey's hand and kisses the knuckles* I've met fate. Lovely girl. Grey: Still doesn't mean she won't knock you down a peg when she hears you talking like that. *he mumbles softly* Crowley: I rather think she has bigger worries/ Grey: Like you cracking open Purgatory with an angel and changing the face of the planet when you let all the monsters loose. Crowley: *sighs* I am not cracking it open. I am sneaking it open and taking the souls. An act of mercy. Grey: Any time there's a hole in Purgatory the monsters know and go rushing to escape. How do you think I got out in the first place. *mumbles* Crowley: Yes well you were meant to escape. That was her plan. Grey: *sideways glance at Crowley* Now you're just bullshitting me... Crowley: *he smiles* Is it working? Grey: *crosses arms again and says flatly* No. Crowley: *he leans forward* Not even a little? Grey: *shakes head* Not even a little. Crowley: *he kisses Grey's forehead* No? Grey: *more softly this time* No. Crowley: *he rests his head against the monsters* Ah, can't blame me for trying. Grey: *closes his eyes and scoffs gently* Crowley: *he smiles* Grey: *trembling sigh* Crowley: *he runs his fingertips over Grey's arms* Grey: *leans into Crowley laying his head on the demon's shoulder* Crowley: *He hums quietly* Grey: *relaxes slightly* Crowley: *Crowley continues to hum, watching Grey starting to relax* Grey: *slowly tension drains out of him as Crowley hums and holds him* Crowley: *he breathes out, his breath ruffling Grey's hair* Grey: *opens his eyes and looks up at Crowley while he smooths his hair back* Crowley: *smiles* Grey: *nuzzles Crowley's jaw* Crowley: *Crowley hums happily* See, it's all okay. Grey: *frowns slightly and sighs. He's not going to argue anymore but things are far from okay from where he's standing* Crowley: *he kisses away the frown lines from Grey's forehead* Grey: *closes his eyes again, absentmindedly playing with the buttons on Crowley's jacket* Crowley: *he keeps his lips pressed against the monsters forehead* Talk to me. Grey: About what? *he says, shifting around he can put his feet on the arm of the chair* Crowley: Anything? Grey: *plays with the laces of his shoes* Which angel is it you're working with? *he's going to regret steering the conversation that way but he's curious* Crowley: *Crowley rests his hand on Grey's ankle* Hmm, one of them. Grey: *rolls his eyes* If you've already told me what you're doing, what's the harm in telling me which angel? Crowley: You could try and stop it/ Grey: *self-loathing laughter* You actually think I'd do something like that? No, no I don't want to get hurt anymore so there's not going to be any stupid meddling especially with an angel who'd probably gut me as soon as look at me. Your little pet's a coward, the last thing on my mind is sticking my neck out. *gets up and walks over to the window, opening it and looking out at the night* Crowley: *Crowley sighs and closes his eyes, leaning back against the chair before opening his eyes and getting up to walk over to Grey* You aren't a coward Beloved. Grey: *snorts and doesn't look at Crowley* Yes I am. Crowley: *he wraps his arms around Grey* Castiel. Grey: *leans back into Crowley* Isn't that the Winchesters' angel? What's he doing working with you? Crowley: *Crowley smirks* It is indeed. Grey: *rolls his head to look back at Crowley* You couldn't have picked a lamer angel. Crowley: *Crowley laughs* He's not so bad. Grey: I've met him, he's boring. *Grey continues* And his tie is always backwards. He doesn't even know how to dress himself and he's had that vessel for how long now? Even I didn't take more than a day or two to figure it out. Crowley: Are you....jealous? Grey: No! *he bristles* I'm not going to be jealous of some silly little feather duster. Crowley: *Crowley laughs again* You are! Grey: I am /not/! *Grey says hotly, flushing when Crowley continues to laugh* Crowley: *he kisses Grey's neck* You don't need to be you know. Grey: *squirms and whines a little* I know and I'm not. Crowley: *he presses teasing kisses to the monsters skin* You are, silly thing. Crowley: *he looks down and grins, before hoisting Grey up onto his hips* That's exactly what I'm saying. Grey: I don't care. *He settles down in a chair then changes his mind* Comedy or horror. Crowley: *he sticks in a DVD and walks back over to Grey, sitting on the monster's lap*
