okay, so my favourite quote is something that i’ve had in my drafts for a while. originally it was for this loki fic i had planned but then it sort of fell apart, so i saved it.

for the sake of spoilers i won’t give you the quote (sorry) but know it’s a piece of dialogue said by miguel to reader during a blow out after a mission goes terrible wrong. it’s awful and angsty and a lot of people will probably be like wtf summer that’s such a terrible, favourite quote but i do not care i live to make people uncomfortable. 😌

as a bonus my fave quote i’ve already posted is probably, “express instead of repress” because i just like that such opposite words can flow so well together? like it’s such a simple statement but it holds so much weight in my head i had to put it to paper in some way.

as for song that best encapsulates the fic i’d have to go with who are you, really? by mikky ekko.

it perfectly describes the way miguel and reader look at each other –how they crave a certain control over finding out about the other, if that makes sense?

if i see one more person saying that annabeth’s character is “ruined” because leah’s not blonde, i’m actually going to go insane. if you think that annabeth’s motives and character are entirely defined by her hair color, you did not understand the books. her character goes so much further than her appearance. “but leah doesn’t uphold the dumb blonde stereotype” leah being annabeth ENHANCES annabeth’s character arc by covering racism as well.

every single character in the riordanverse has been outcasted and turned away. this includes annabeth. you think that leah’s annabeth, a black girl in the early 2000s, is an exception to this? fuck, even in the episode with the chimera, it’s noticeable. now i dont know if this was intentional, but someone mentioned that the police officer had no problem with walker/percy’s blatant disrespect, but the SECOND leah very normally asks, “are we under arrest?” he accuses her of having a disrespectful tone.

annabeth’s intelligence is in no way related to her hair color. leah portrays annabeth beautifully and i couldn’t ask for anyone better.

One thing I love about Hughie is that he’s the main character, but in such a “y/n” way. Completely unremarkable, ordinary loser who gets dragged into a life of crime and adventure by accident and whom everyone falls in love with upon meeting him, most of the time for absolutely no reason. Butcher wants to be his manic pixie dream psycho so bad, but then also breaks his own back to protect him. Frenchie and MM would kill Butcher if it weren’t for the fact that it’d make Hughie sad. Annie is a 10000/10 and wants to spend the rest of her life singing cringy teen music with him and and easing her way into pegging him. A-Train ended up with his life hopelessly tangled with Hughie’s and can’t seem to let it go. Victoria spent her breaks sharing snacks with him, knowing he’s murdering Supes — and never stopped trusting him, to the point where she came to him when she had every reason to believe he’d want her dead. Soldier Boy literally escaped endless torture and spent 90% of his newly won freedom trying to impress Hughie by putting on a little macho man show for him. The only person who’s truly immune to Hughie and his “putting his hair in a messy bun before getting sold to 1D” charm is Homelander, who genuinely just hates him. Fascinating character design, all in all.

they met you when you all had to work together to catch some terrorist. they all sat around the table, silently chatting with each other at a meeting waiting to meet you. and when you walked in lets say you were definitely a nice surprise. From the way you slightly had to tilt your head to enter the room to in johnnys words you walked like your dick hurt to carry.

and price, the ever so sweet price, he’d try to be respectful he’d greet you with coffee or tea, he’d cook you dinner on base and let you sit in his office as you worked on reports but nothing up above would help him when he trailed his eyes to your dick in the joined base showers. he didn’t even think he’d need any help the way you were fucking the pleas out of him like you were his god.

and let you have a particularly raspy and deep voice?? they’re squirming in their chairs.

if you harbored a bit of broken English?? they didn’t mind, in fact simon often teased you about it like the little shit show he was. you’d often bite back saying something about brits back.

BUT what really sealed the deal for them was how protected and secure you made them feel.
