Rengoku was visibly scared. His stoic face, his shaking hands, and the brute body were making the nurses and doctor nervous; he was unsure of what to do.

This was your second child, Rengoku had always wanted a big family... dreamed of having replicas of him and you running around the shared home of yours as they cuddled with him and you.

But, when he learned that you may die in the process of your second baby... he didn't know how to react.

When you reached over, below-whispering his name and held his hand in your weak state; he knew he needed to make a choice—fast.

Normally, as the Flame Hashira and his fast strategy thinking, you would think he would know what to do next, right? Wrong. His beloved is on the brink of death at the moment and he's sitting beside you, like a coward.

As sad as it is, he will put your life before the child. He's not willing to lose you, not when he's almost lost everyone around him.

The moment he agrees the doctor tried to continue, trying to console his emotions, and your screams... he didn't know what to do except comfort you; whispering small 'i'm so sorry.' and 'you are so brave, squeeze my hand.' Every now and again.

Rengoku is there, holding your hand while you're squeezing him; he's praising you as best as he can, trying not to cry from the immense screaming you're letting out.

But, when he hears the baby cries and hiccups... he's purely relieved.

As much as he loves you and wants more. He's not gonna be upset or mad if you decide to not have anymore. This was a scary incident for both of you.

— Rengoku is looking down at you, giving you a soft smile as tears fall down his face: "You did so well... it's a little girl. I'm so proud of you, you are so brave; my love. Please rest, I'll be here when you wake up." He kisses you on the forehead, resting his face on your cheek before he leans back, holding your baby girl whilst rocking her back to sleep.

He sighs in disbelief and relaxation, the little girl has your features already.

@ the anon asking about the cultural sensitivity in KFS compared to KCD: it's honestly not much better. Like compared to Amala being a mixed British girl and experiencing a culture shock there's a lot less harping on about how uncivilized the locals and their beliefs are but Devi definitely has an annoying not like other girls mentality. I get that the author wanted to present her as this rebellious progressive girl ahead of her times but it's written from such a painfully obvious white POV. Every culture has its own issues but at least we grow up being able to navigate it with some nuance that Remy's missing. The way she writes Devi's animosity towards colonizers is pretty realistic tho, I liked how she stood up to Ian when he decided to open his mouth about the losses on both sides 🥴 like bro bffr. Other than that everything concerning culture and traditions is written pretty superficially. It's clear that Remy spends waaaay more time on character design than on research because she knows the majority of her readers won't care. She severely underestimates the number of Desi players lol

Who knew grocery store visits could be so entertaining? I think the most accurate thing ever said about jungkook was when jimin said he really just lives by his instincts when he was sleepy after dinner. Like jungkook just follows wherever his stomach takes him. Fuck the sponge, he wanted twinkies and guacamole (and to watch lobsters fight)! Also it was funny to be reminded that jimin truly is the hyung between them, having to find what they actually need and round up a wandering jungkook. Him cursing makes me wonder how often of an occurrence is it to lose jungkook in a store.

yes, yes, yes to all of this. when jimin said jungkook lives by his instincts was such a 😯 moment because that's one of the more succint and accurate descriptions of him i've ever heard lmao. and yes to the jimin hyung thing. jimin teased him a lot, he was very worried about messing up the cooking, he was feeling sick, it was almost easy to forget he is the Hyung after all, but it became blatantly clear whenever they entered that walmart lmao. it also made my heart grow three times its size that, even though some situations could've ended up being a bit frustrating (on both sides, especially with the stomach issue), they were both just so chill, so lighthearted and good humored through all of it and 🥺 i dont even know where i'm going with this, i just love their relationship a lot, lot, lot. they complement each other perfectly.

To answer your questions (and sorry this might be a bit long)

1. The TOG series did! But what brought me into the ACOTAR Fandom specifically was ACOSF. After reading it, I wanted to discuss my thoughts/opinions with others who've read the series. Since then, I've gained a lot of new, really good and close friends. I'm incredibly grateful that ACOSF brought me into this fandom 🥰

2. Gwyn and Nesta.

Gwyn, because I have SA trauma myself, and I've fought hard to get where I am today. I'm a survivor just like she is, and I won't let anything break me. Plus, I'm a coppery haired woman, so I feel connected to her that way as well.

Nesta, because I'm the eldest of my siblings. I've also put on an icy front to not let anyone get too close after all the trauma I've endured being the eldest sibling (because it's not easy being the oldest and all the expectations placed on one for being the firstborn), growing up poor, my SA trauma and everything else life has thrown at me so far. I relate a lot to the anger she had at the world and herself as well as feeling like I failed at times to protect my younger siblings.

3. This is a tough one, but ACOSF is the ultimate winner.

It healed me in ways I didn't expect. Nesta and Gwyn both had me crying because of our similar stories/feelings. Nesta story and the unexpected connection with Gwyn and her story, too, allowed me to grieve and heal parts of me I didn't realize still needed healing from. It especially hits me even harder on rereads since I lost my own mom not too long ago. Nesta healing from her father's death and not having the best relationship with him mirrored in a way my own relationship with my mom and the loss of her and grieving/healing from her abrupt passing.

4. Gwyn and Azriel.

Their potential story together would show SA survivors they can have a healthy relationship in and out of the bedroom and heal a lot of people who have been through what Gwyn has. Their story has the potential to show a lot of people who feel unworthy because of things they've done or had done to them that they are worthy of love and joy in their lives. Their story will show that even if you feel alone amongst a crowded room, there are people around you willing to be there, to help, and to love you as you are. That even on the darkest of days when hope seems lost, there is light to walk to. You just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and thinking, "I am the rock against which the surf crashes. Nothing can break me."

Not to be rude but... Is this still ongoing? How many ifs you're working on right now?

You’re not being rude at all, don’t worry! I’m currently working on three at the moment— Absentia, Scandal, and HoF. However, writing for HoF takes a long time; both because of everything that I feel like I need to add for it and because I need to get into just the right mindset. I adore HoF, it’s one of my greatest joys because it’s a world I’ve created and have cultivated its own lore, and that means that I don’t want to force anything for it. I’ve also been having some health problems that have caused me to put some things on the back burner, HoF being one of them.

I apologize for not answering asks on here, I’ll try to answer the few that are currently in my inbox to hopefully tide you all over! Especially until the third chapter comes around, which is going to be a big one from the looks of what I’ve been able to create for it.
