apologies if this has been asked prior, but i have two questions if it doesn't spoil too much :D 1. how different is papyrus' voice from wingdings? since wingdings is a dingbat font that is unintelligible to most other monster species, but papyrus isn't a dingbat font; would his voice sound different? would it sound like how sans heard wingdings voice? would it change in pitch or have a different english-speaking accent? 2. would sans notice the voice change? would he pick up on the fact that his brother seems more outspoken than he once did due to no longer having a language barrier, or would he be completely oblivious? would he recognise papyrus' voice as the same as before or would it give him uncanny valley?

Yeah, Papyrus' voice is different! Technically it sounds similar to Wingdings' voice when he was using the default font but more Papyrus like? Papyrus is very loud which definitely makes him sound different, the way you act also makes your voice different--SO YEAH! It's different!

Not really, but he did find it weird, wasn't sure why... And as time went by, he was less and less sure why

oh man, I have exactly zero degrees. like a true jester, I went to a trade art school, so I don't even have an art related degree, I've got a certification of surviving hell completion

the way art and history interact for me is that a lot of it circles back to trying to find ways to talk about something. history doesn't necessarily repeat, but it often rhymes, haunts, and cannibalizes. some eras of history are equal parts history and a stage, and a stage serves as a place to say something without necessarily having to be in it. the bossism politics of the philippines rhymes with the faction politics of the late republic more often than it doesn't. watching the marcoses crawl back into power was like watching the medici return to florence. duterte said he was like julius caesar crossing the rubicon, and over 6,000 were murdered under his regime. somethings are the same.

a lot of it feels like a puzzle, and I like it when pieces come together. more often than not, there's something current going on that prompts me to look back into history for something comparable, either as a stage, or just to feel like I'm not losing my mind, that other people had to deal with this shit too.

I was a teenager when the original assassin's creed games were coming out, and I used to go to libraries with other fans and we'd just sit in the non fiction sections and read everything that was on a shelf, and then go outside or whatever and start talking about where the games diverged from history and try to figure out what the next game would do based on whatever we learned. and I just kind of. kept doing that even when I stopped playing the games because the story sucked ass, but because there's already a second intersection of fiction working along side historical analysis, it unlocks a bunch of other stuff in the back of my mind while I take notes on something.

the gore you read in the thebaid reminds me a lot of imperial chines torture literature, and now we've got imperial horror and while we've moved out of the ancient Mediterranean but it's a whole body of work that I'm now looking at while thinking about rome, and somewhere in there, I'll probably find some literary theme that's cool and I'll start researching whether or not someone's examined like. the renaissance from that lens. what does the gore mean. what happens when history unfairly maligns and scapegoats someone. what happens when a foundational sacrifice goes wrong.

one of the most gut wrenching things I ever read was about how rome took any record of spartacus' words and buried it, and now I spend too much time thinking about what words we put in the mouths of dead people.

How do you sell the dolls? I’m not asking where or about pricing, but how do you prevent getting attached and wanting to keep them? That’s what I struggle with. I’d love to sell my creations, but after a while of working on them I get so attached. Do you ever experience this, and if so what do you do to prevent it? This is a good question! I think a good thing to do is make sure you're making stuff for yourself occasionally. It won't cure the urge to keep other things you've made, but itll help a bit. And sometimes, after keeping something on a shelf for a while, you might decide it's time to move it on. I think that making a handful of dolls with the same general concept, take my witch cats for example, you could convince yourself to just keep your favorite and sell the rest. There's also asking the question, "do I want this forever, or did I just spend a lot of time with it and am used to it being around" which gets easier to answer (either way!) the more things you make, in my opinion.

I'm a little weird with how I create dolls that makes it kinda easy for me to sell them (this isn't advice but just what goes on with me) The things that are fun for me to make are not usually the things I care to keep. There's something very satisfying about making a cute pink creature with a frilly dress full of texture, but it's not something I care to put on my shelf. Kinda like having the fun of building a Lego set then not knowing what to do with it after. You'll notice I make a lot of cutesy or fanciful dolls, like kitties, rabbits, lemon slices, but I keep things like giant spider women and a rat that looks like Siouxsie Sioux.

There's also the weird problem I have, where knowing that I made something makes me like it less, but that's just my own hang up haha

Maybe as you go, you can find something that's fun for you to make and explore, but doesn't spin your gears in the way more personal projects can?

9. What type of duties does Rook do in the Necropolis/as part of the Mourn Watch? Do those duties change over time? Do they enjoy them?

As an apprentice, Sabriel spent a lot of time attending to the tableaus of the dead, as well as the tombs and gravestones in the gardens. She might have been given a bit of preferential treatment when it came to these kinds of duties, due to how familiar most of the Watchers were with her, but in their defense she's very good with the spirits and takes excellent care of the flowers and headstones. Once she got a better grasp on her magic she moved into medical assistance, spending a lot of time in the infirmary as a healer. Her particular academic focus is on the differences between natural and magical healing, and how the infusion of Fade energy into the body impacts it. She could probably teach some basic courses on anatomy, but she's not ready to become a professor just yet (and after Veilguard she's not likely to return to academia anyway).

She LOVED being part of the infirmary team- it was a very good fit for her and she got to know a lot of different Watchers as they passed in and out of treatment. It was stressful of course, and she witnessed some horrors, but the opportunity to help people is the most valuable thing to her. She still does some of the caretaking for the Memorial Gardens as well- it's soothing for her, and that's where she goes to decompress anyway.

i think pjo percy is written realistically to be outraged by his mistreatment while internalizing what ppl say abt him. bc he's an impressionable kid! so he might call himself stupid in the privacy of his own thoughts, but he's not going to sit back and listen to ppl call him stupid. he doesn't want to be stupid, he doesn't want to be a bad kid, but everyone treats him like he is. if he does nothing to prove them wrong then he proves them right, so he's internally hard on himself and externally defensive.

hate my sister's shitty good for nothing boyfriend. can you imagine being a 30yo man with two kids who won't even scramble an egg. Not for his kids, not for his girlfriend, not for himself. literally if my sister doesn't leave out pre-made meals when he's watching the kids he will rip up bread or pour them dry cereal or open a granola bar and make himself microwave dinners. like, lowest effort possible. but if i mention this to my sis, she'll be like "no he's definitely cooked for the kids! he scrambled an egg for them once! i watched him do it!" but it's like...so he scrambled one egg in the last five years. just to like, prove he can? at your direct insistence? should we all clap? like seriously. hate this guy. had to really hold back recently because he had someone over and he was interacting with the kids more than usual for appearances, and he had to keep asking me and my sis what the 5yo was signing because he barely bothered to learn his own son's primary form of communication. i was so tempted to say "that one means 'go home' but you wouldn't know that because you don't take them anywhere." so hard to hold that in. If I had to describe this man in two words they would be these: Low Effort. Not quite bare minimum, but JUST enough to convince my sister that it would be too much hassle to get rid of him. he's stupid as fuck, but just smart enough to quickly stop shit like screaming obscenities at the kids for doing normal kid things. and he once stomped on my headphones and broke them in a fit of rage, but gave my sister money to replace them so it was "fine." Like, my sister thinks that he's just struggling with his anger issues, because he had a bad childhood, blah, blah, and oh he would never actually hurt her or the kids. and like, good for you, but i don't trust like that. genuinely hoping he gets struck by lightning and dies instantly.
