The Bertram Family Album: Volume X
It's a long while since we've visited the Bertrams, so let's see what they're up to.
Tumblr media
We're just in time to catch a touching moment between father and son. Edmund found the news of the unexpected demise (aged only 60, in my game years) of his contemporary, George Knightley, to be rather sobering, but William tries to reassure his dad that he's going to be around for a good while longer yet.
Tumblr media
Although the Bertrams aren’t really party people, it's pretty much open-house for friends and family to drop round whenever they like.
Tumblr media
Theophilus in particular has quite a collection of chums, including Anthony,
Tumblr media
...Giles,
Tumblr media
...and his cousin Francesca.
Tumblr media
William, being a caring, but Shy lad, prefers hanging out with childhood pal Boo,
Tumblr media
...dancing self-consciously, even when he's alone,
Tumblr media
...or immersing himself in his favourite culinary pursuits. He clearly still needs a bit of practice with a chopping knife though.
Tumblr media
Doofus Boo also still has a lot to learn. After all these years, he still hasn't figured out that the sofa is not an acceptable place to pee.
Tumblr media
He's so good-natured though that no one has the heart to be too hard on him, especially not Fanny.

My Duty, My Honor {Reader x Anthony}
Part 1/?
Tumblr media
Word Count: 1.5k+
Triggers: Kissing, suggestive talk, forced marriage
Summary: Lily Wickham was caught with Anthony in a secret rondevouz in the garden, leaving her and the rakinsh Viscount no choice but to get married - even if she detests him.
A/N: Hello! I adore writing for Anthony, and I particularly like where this story is going - so please, if you enjoy reading this, please let me know that it would be worth writing a part two!
Tumblr media
~ Sometimes, when I close my eyes I can imagine myself in a world where I am free; someplace where I am not bound to my duty or my family. To love freely with whom I choose - to find happiness in my other half. Oh, I long for the day I find romance and acceptance; for the first time in my life I shall know joy ~
My hopeful dreams of a love match have disappeared entirely as of last night. The Viscount Bridgerton asked for my hand in marriage two twilights ago, and upon the insistence of my mother, I accepted.
When I was a young girl I entertained myself with fantasies of my prince charming - a gallant man who would sweep me off my feet and carry me into the sunset; a man who was decorated with manners and grace, a man who I would be proud to father my children. Viscount Bridgerton is far from what I had in mind. Perhaps my disdain for him stems from the wild cowlick hair that stands up off the back of his head, or that annoying purr in his voice when he speaks.
"Lydia," he panted in agony, "we should not be here..." His shimmering green eyes momentarially connected with mine, as he ran his devilishly dark irises along the length of my body - up and down before landing on my lips, and planting a soft kiss. I have never known such bliss, or such rebellion. Something about the impertinence made him so .. exciting. Anthony was the forbidden fruit, and I could not help but take a bite.
"Something about his arrogant countenance displeases me," I thought as I sat near the foot of my bed, staring at the gold trimmed white wall in front of me. To my right, on the nearby wall sat my families tapistry, woven from the finest gold, green, and red threads my ancient family could source. It displayed my families crest - an ornate display of leopards and snakes intertwining a large shield engraved with the family name, Wickham.
This tapestry was purposefully placed in my chambers as a permanent reminder of my duty to the family. No matter the circumstance, it is my duty to populate my family line - and I must do so by marrying well. As far as Viscount Bridgerton goes, he is head of the wealthiest estate in the county. Though I disapprove of him, I cannot deny the advantages of giving him my hand - a sizeable dowry for my future daughters, a place in society, an esate to own; oh, this life would be any womans dream.
Sometimes , late at night when I'm alone , I envision myself as Viscountess and head woman of the Bridgerton house; I will not jest, the idea of such prestige is a pleasant one. The union would bring me a new wardrobe, fine carriages, and luxury beyond anything I have ever known.
Marriage to this rakish man is my one chance of living in such splendor. Why must it he him that I marry? Why could Colin have not been first born? Or Benedict? Why Anthony?
I would rather resign my life away to an artist or a nomad than a man of such disgusting hubris. Nonetheless, I am the first born daughter of my family, and thus I must secure my position. After all, I will be the one responsible for paying their dowries and assimilating them into society.
What a terrible burden.
"Madam?" My ladies maid loudly called out from behind my chamber room door, "it is time to be dressed."
"Already?" panic resounded through my head, "I'm not ready..."
Despite my internal doubts, I beckoned my ladies maid to join me. As she entered the room, I noticed an emerald green silk gown with silver embellishments sprawled across her arms. I had never seen this gown before, a genuine suprise to me.
"Where did you get this?" I asked the ladies maid in an accusatory tone.
She waited to respond, continuing to lay the wrinkles out on the dress - but after a few beats she met my eyes for a moment, "It was picked up today from the modiste," she answered in a flat tone, "I'm told it was a rush order."
This response was shocking at first, for I did not know my mother was already arranging my marriage wardrobe. It is true - the Viscount and I had a whirlwind romance; it had not even been two weeks after we met that we were declared to be married. It had all happened so quickly that night in the garden ...
I remember the way his fair skin shone in the ambient starlight - his radience illuminating the vines around the garden wall - and the way the flowers around us smelled after the fresh rain that evening. He bewitched me with just one flash of that charming smile, just one glance with him was enough to break down my walls and give myself to him. "You are utterly breathtaking," he whispered into my ear, the heat of his breath warming the full of my lips, "I cannot control myself ..." Even the memory was intoxicating - ruining my head all over again.
It was only a kiss. Just one.
Thats all it took.
Now I will be Viscountess Bridgerton - what a terrifying thought.
I wish so terribly that Mrs. Featherington had not been out for a promenade that night. I wish we would have chosen the library, or the closet, or anywhere more discreet ... but the garden? What were we, animals?
My daydreaming was swiftly interrupted once again by a hughty womans voice, "Ma'am" my maid beckoned, "we really must begin.."
I loudly huffed, forced to remember that my time is never truly my own. "Right," I replied, "we must be going soon." She nodded with me in agreement.
With a heavy sigh, I positioned myself in front of my bed post, and grabbed hold-
"Breathe out!" my maid shouted, "Suck in!" she barked, and I did as I was told. She pulled the laces tighter, and tighter around my chest until I was sure my ribs would snap. What would society say then? Would they say I was unfit to marry due to injury? Perhaps I could befall some tradgedy, so I may spare Anthony and I the impending disaster of this match ...
-she began to work on my hair. I watched as she pinned my long stands of platinum blonde hair into an updo upon the crown of my head. She separated thin locks of my hair into tight spirals, exposing the back of my neck and freeing my shoulders from the weight of my hair. As I looked at myself in the mirror, I could see the uncertainty written across my features as plain as day. What if he changed his mind and left me jilted? What if we truly were miserable together? Would I be able to love him?
Ouch! I gasped as my maid mistakingly nicked my scalp with a starp hairpin. She immediately recoiled and appologized, "Oh, I'm so sorry! I did not mean to be so careless-"
I met her eyes in the mirror and cut her off, "It's fine, Mary," I let out a small exhale and looked down at the wooden floor below by vanity, "just continue, please." Mary nodded and swifty began pinning my hair again.
I hate the fuss and the frills and the dancing that is expected of a lady. Its all so ... dramatic! Why should I be forced to ready myself for hours to be considered presentable to society? Why should I not be given the privilege of skipping out on events of the ton like my brothers?
As much as these questions bothered me, I could not focus on them for too long. Mary had finished my hair and powder, which meant I was officially ready to be transported. Mary placed her hand gently on my right shoulder - just next to the lace trimming of my dress, and spoke, "M'lady, its time." I rose from my chair with a grim expression and began straigntening out the front of my dress.
I could not let the Viscount see me in such a distressed state.
"One. Two. Three," I counted slowly, "inhale, exhale .."
"Okay," I said to Mary, "I think I'm ready."
She turned to me and smiled with her dark lips curled into a delicate smirk and her eyebrows tightly drawn. Perhaps she saw the desprate look on my face, or the small bead of sweat forming on my brow, because she felt the need to remind me of my duty.
"You know what you must do," Mary whispered as she grabbed my hands, "you know what must be done."
Her words awoke something in me - something dutiful and ancient. Like my mother, and her mother, and back and back and back, I would marry well and secure my position for my future children.
Though these things were true, I might as well have been walking to the gallows. This was the end of my feedom; my secret horseback rides at dawn, lonesome walks into town, silent nights - these would all be stolen from me within the confines of marriage. My life would never be my own.
One stolen moment in the garden left me bound to a man I could not detest more. The heavens must be frowning upon be in this moment.

Storia Di Musica #293 - The Waterboys, Fisherman's Blues, 1988
And I am the Water Boy\The real game’s not over here.
E come non adorare il sottile andare di When Will We Be Married.

Book Recommendations: For Fans of… Knives Out
Did you enjoy the newest Knives Out mystery, Glass Onion? Here are some read-alikes you may enjoy!
Secrets of the Nile by Tasha Alexander
Lord Bertram Deeley, a renowned amateur British collector of antiquities is entertaining his closest friends at a lavish cruise up the Nile to his home at Luxor when he suddenly collapses after offering a welcome toast, a victim of the lethal poison cyanide. Who amongst this group of his nearest and dearest would want to kill their generous host: an archeologist whose dig Deeley was funding until he suddenly withdrew support? A powerful politician whose career Deeley had secretly destroyed? A dyspeptic aristocratic English spinster whose hired travelling companion seems determined to protect her employer? Or even the formidable Mrs. Hargreaves, Lady Emily’s mother-in-law, who may have spurned the advances of Lord Deeley when they were both younger? A key clue may lie with several ancient ushabtis, exquisite three-thousand-year-old sculptures that played a role in yet another murder in Ancient Egypt, a crime with a very real link to Lord Deeley’s death. Lady Emily and Colin gather their suspects together to reveal the identity of a killer whose motive is as shocking as it is brilliant.
This is the 16th volume in the “Lady Emily Ashton Mysteries” series.
The Department of Sensitive Crimes by Alexander McCall Smith
In the Swedish criminal justice system, certain cases are considered especially strange and difficult - the dedicated detectives who investigate these crimes are members of an elite squad known as the Sensitive Crimes Division. These are their stories.
The first case: the small matter of a man stabbed in the back of the knee. Who would perpetrate such a crime and why? Next: a young woman's imaginary boyfriend goes missing. But how on earth do you search for someone who doesn't exist? And in the final investigation: eerie secrets that are revealed under a full moon may not seem so supernatural in the light of day. No case is too unusual, too complicated, or too, well insignificant for this squad to solve.
The team: Ulf “the Wolf” Varg, the top dog, thoughtful and diligent; Anna Bengsdotter, who's in love with Varg's car (and possibly Varg too); Carl Holgersson, who likes nothing more than filling out paperwork; and Erik Nykvist, who is deeply committed to fly fishing.
This is the first volume in the “Detective Varg” series.
The Murder of Mr. Wickham by Claudia Gray
The happily married Mr. Knightley and Emma are throwing a house party, bringing together distant relatives and new acquaintances - characters beloved by Jane Austen fans. Definitely not invited is Mr. Wickham, whose latest financial scheme has netted him an even broader array of enemies. As tempers flare and secrets are revealed, it’s clear that everyone would be happier if Mr. Wickham got his comeuppance. Yet they’re all shocked when Wickham turns up murdered - except, of course, for the killer hidden in their midst.
Nearly everyone at the house party is a suspect, so it falls to the party’s two youngest guests to solve the mystery: Juliet Tilney, the smart and resourceful daughter of Catherine and Henry, eager for adventure beyond Northanger Abbey; and Jonathan Darcy, the Darcys’ eldest son, whose adherence to propriety makes his father seem almost relaxed. The unlikely pair must put aside their own poor first impressions and uncover the guilty party - before an innocent person is sentenced to hang.
Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz
Alan Conway is a bestselling crime writer. His editor, Susan Ryeland, has worked with him for years, and she's intimately familiar with his detective, Atticus Pünd, who solves mysteries disturbing sleepy English villages. Alan's traditional formula pays homage to queens of classic British crime such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy Sayers. It's proved hugely successful. So successful that Susan must continue to put up with his troubling behavior if she wants to keep her job.
When Susan receives Alan's latest manuscript, in which Atticus Pünd investigates a murder at Pye Hall, an English manor house, she has no reason to think it will be any different from the others. There will be dead bodies, a cast of intriguing suspects, and plenty of red herrings and clues. But the more Susan reads, the more she’s realizes that there's another story hidden in the pages of the manuscript - one of ambition, jealousy, and greed - and that soon it will lead to murder.
This is the first volume in the “Susan Ryeland” series.
The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley
During the languid days of the Christmas break, a group of thirtysomething friends from Oxford meet to welcome in the New Year together, a tradition they began as students ten years ago. For this vacation, they’ve chosen an idyllic and isolated estate in the Scottish Highlands - the perfect place to get away and unwind by themselves. They arrive on December 30th, just before a historic blizzard seals the lodge off from the outside world.
Two days later, on New Year’s Day, one of them is dead.
The trip began innocently enough: admiring the stunning if foreboding scenery, champagne in front of a crackling fire, and reminiscences about the past. But after a decade, the weight of secret resentments has grown too heavy for the group’s tenuous nostalgia to bear. Amid the boisterous revelry of New Year’s Eve, the cord holding them together snaps. Now one of them is dead... and another of them did it. Keep your friends close, the old adage goes. But just how close is too close?

Lydia de Winter headcanons sorted by the all the AU’s of Say My Name I’ve written.
TW: Discussions of depression, suicide, death, and child abuse
Say My Name (sans “Your Clone”)
- Her date of birth is December of 1915
- Yes, I realize that means she was born (and conceived) during WWI, but we’re gonna get around that by saying Maxim was summoned to the war either during Rebecca’s pregnancy or shortly after Lydia was born.
- She was named after Lydia Bennet from Pride and Prejudice because Rebecca liked the Lydia/Wickham subplot more than the other love stories.
- She attended a seminary for girls in London from the ages of 6 to 9, after Rebecca’s death she was educated by a governess, tutors, etc. I realize that absolutely none of that features in my fics other than brief mentions but it is happening.
- Some time during the events of Rebecca, Lydia stops referring to Rebecca as her mother and transitions to calling her Rebecca. Maxim doesn’t give a fuck about it.
- Maxim also doesn’t give a fuck period. Lydia doesn’t forgive him for his neglect for a while, but acknowledges that he’s at least remorseful (post confession). Things are very awkward between them until well into the exile period and they didn’t truly become close until after Ellison and Katherine were born.
- Lydia briefly resented Ellison and Kate because they had the childhood she never got, but she got over it due to bonding with them and the maturity that comes with adulthood.
- Ellison and Kate were the prime age for playing with legos when they were first invented in the 30’s. Lydia stepped on a few once and it hurt so from then on whoever she got mad at someone she always threatened them by saying she hopes they step on a lego.
- She once muttered this during an argument with Maxim. Maxim immediately started laughing because he thought it was a creative threat.
- Lydia is bisexual, even though she does end up with a man, @eeleeisgay’s OC Anthony Helencourt.
- Ileana immediately approved of Anthony. Maxim took a bit of convincing because he wanted to be certain that Anthony wasn’t just with Lydia because he wanted Manderley.
- Even after the events of Rebecca, Lydia struggled with putting a lot of pressure on herself, putting on a brave face, and asking for help from others, as well as bouts of depression for the rest of her life.
- The thing that won Maxim over with Anthony and Lydia’s relationship was that Anthony had a positive effect on Lydia’s mental health and he was able to help bring her back down to earth. Basically Anthony is best husband and a supportive king.
- Lydia hyphenated her last name when she married Anthony partially to compromise with her parents and her in laws but partially because “Helencourt-de Winter sounds beautiful anyways, I’ll just take both names”. Anthony did the same.
- Strangers sometimes mistook Lydia and Ileana for sisters instead of a stepmother and stepdaughter once Lydia hit puberty and thus had her growth spurt. Ileana also looked young for her age until she reached middle age so that along with their 11 year age gap didn’t help either. It led to some very awkward conversations.
- Favell and Beatrice both taught Lydia to curse at a very young age, separately of course.
- Maxim made allowances for Beatrice when she did that, he often sighed and said things like “that’s the last time I let you around my child” but never really meant it. However he openly badmouthed Favell for doing the same thing.
- Lydia only curses when she’s really pissed or emotional. In normal conversation sometimes she’ll let a few “damns” slip, but nothing more.
- Post blackmail, Lydia wants nothing to do with Favell because she realizes that he’s too similar to Rebecca but he just hides it better and isn’t a dick to children.
- While Lydia does initially feel betrayed when she hears Danny burned down Manderley, during the de Winters’ exile she realizes just how bad Danny’s mental state was and forgives her for it.
- Being away from Manderley also made Lydia realize that Danny never intended to make Lydia uncomfortable by bringing up or praising Rebecca in front of her. She comes to the conclusion that while Danny did hurt her by doing that, it was Danny’s way of coping with her loss and she can’t bring herself to fault her for that.
- Ileana understands Lydia’s sympathy for Danny, Maxim doesn’t. This is a source of tension between Lydia and Maxim, particularly once they decide to rebuild Manderley until shortly after they move back in.
- During the exile, Lydia knows not to talk about Manderley in front of Maxim, but she does sometimes do so with Ileana.
- When Ellison comes out to Lydia as lesbian, Lydia is immediately supportive of her sister. She even refers to Ellison’s longtime girlfriend, Anne, as her sister in law.
Your Clone, Your Strange Creation (SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)
- Lydia was never sent to school in London and was educated from home from the start. This is why she was home to witness Rebecca’s murder.
- Despite the positive relationship between Ileana and Lydia, Lydia never ends up referring to Ileana with any maternal terms (mother, mama, mum, etc). After everything she’s dealt with she doesn’t really feel right putting a concrete label on it.
- Lydia also never stops referring to Rebecca by her given name. No one has a problem with it, even Danny understands why she does it.
- A similar thing happens with Maxim as well. In the first few chapters she refers to him as Papa, then she transitions to Father (if you read the Beatrice side story you’ll have the full context), and eventually after the trial she’ll refer to him as Maxim because she’ll finally feel like she’s allowed to denounce him for everything he did (and didn’t do) since Rebecca’s murder.
- She’s a full on queer ally. Full on doesn’t even think twice about the fact that Ileana and Danny are both women when she figures out they’re in love.
- Danny feels very strongly that she has to redeem herself for viewing Rebecca through a rose colored lens and somewhat projecting that onto Lydia.
- Lydia forgives her for it immediately following her disclosure about the murder and her role in it due to Danny admitting that not only did Maxim fail her as a parent, but so did Rebecca.
- Although Lydia knows Danny’s first name from chapter 12 onwards, she doesn’t use it and opts to keep calling her Danny. Danny is chill about it because she knows how awkward it would be for them both if Lydia used her first name.
- Lydia affectionately teases Ileana and Danny about them being awful at being subtle about their relationship.
- As soon as they’re able to forgo the whole housekeeper/charge relationship, Danny is a lot more openly affectionate with Lydia.
- Lydia has never seen Danny with her hair open before so when she does for the first time she goes 😱 and Ileana giggles and says she had a similar reaction.
- Lydia never forgives Rebecca or Maxim for being the worst parents ever, but she does eventually understand that the fact that she shares traits with them doesn’t need to be a bad thing.
- Danny is the reason she comes to that conclusion in the first place.
- Lydia deals with nightmares, mostly of the night of Rebecca’s murder, Maxim coming after her for spilling about the murder, and Danny and Ileana leaving her.
The Ones They Left Behind/Mama’s Boy (LIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)
(Established with help from @alicesbread)
- Lydia and Rudolph are both unreliable narrators when it comes to the other’s relationship with their parents.
- Maxim up and leaving Manderley to hop around Europe during the year after Rebecca’s death caused Lydia to develop a fear of abandonment. She blames herself for him leaving because she thinks she either did something wrong or hindered his ability to move on.
- Bea, Giles, Danny, and even Frank try to assure her that this isn’t true but Lydia doesn’t really believe them.
- When she shuts down due to her mental state, she only ever talks to Rudolph (and in rare cases Bea, but that takes a lot of coaxing).
- As with the other two AU’s, Lydia is supportive af when Rudolph comes out to her.
- Neither of us have delved into Lydia’s relationship with her brother Elliot (also @alicesbread’s OC), but Lydia is very much relieved when he’s born because that means Manderley won’t be her burden to carry. Won’t say much else because it’ll be a major spoiler.
- She lovingly makes fun of Rudolph for falling for Elliot because “I guess it runs in your family to fall for a de Winter”.
- Rudolph probably finds something to lovingly tease Lydia about as well but I’ll leave that one to alicesbread.
- This is specific only to TOTLB, but when they were children (post Rebecca’s death, pre costume ball) Anthony didn’t like Rudolph because Rudolph defended Rebecca. Not sure if the boys ever actually met, but even if Lydia didn’t like that either, she didn’t tolerate Anthony badmouthing Rudolph.

Did you see the comments Shonda made about Jane Austen?
Lol yeah. I think they’re pretty dumb comments.
I’m the first to say that I don’t need any more Austen adaptations at the moment …. But I’m always happy for a good one, if that makes sense. Austen adaptations have by and large fallen into a formula that I find very stodgy, and maybe that’s what Shonda’s perception is based off, but Austen herself is not stodgy.
Tbh, having read the works of Austen and the Bridgerton books, Austen by and large is a lot more engaging and dramatic in terms of her plots. Even Emma, a book with a very romcomy plot, has more emotional drama. But there’s also a good bit of scandal—Lydia running off with Wickham, the entire backstory of Willoughby.
And comparing them is fucking stupid. Julia Quinn wrote historical romance. Austen wrote contemporary social commentary with good love stories. Two very different things. Austen was writing to an audience centuries ago, and so she could not include sex, but if she was writing today I bet she would. You can read a lot between the lines and bat around interpretations. Obviously, Lydia and Wickham had sex out of wedlock; you can read a lot of things in Marianne and Willoughby’s relationship, and even Wentworth and Anne’s, and so on.
But they’re serving two different purposes. And for that matter lmao, the Bridgerton books are! Not! Juicy! For the love of God, someone give Shonda an Elizabeth Hoyt novel (or don’t). The Bridgerton books each have a couple of mild sex scenes where the heroine gets off through light fingering or the power of penetration, for the most part. Oral sex does not appear until book 5 out of 8. Even When He Was Wicked has nothing on a Hoyt, a Byrne, a Reid, honestly not even much on a lot of Kleypases.
The plots aren’t juicy either, for the most part? When He Was Wicked is the only one that has significant drama… and even that can largely be solved by the leads just saying “okay, let’s get our heads out of our asses”. Which is fine! But it’s not revolutionary lmao.
I rue the day Bridgerton became sold as this sexy and scandalous series. Anthony Bridgerton literally tickles Kate to distract her from being penetrated the first time. This is not a hot book series. And Shonda somehow toned what little sex it had down in season 2.
The thing is that if people stopped thinking that an Austen adaptation has to be a certain thing and infused the sexuality that Austen implies into the adaptations, it would fit. Austen writes books about earthy, real, sometimes dark people. It’s a lot juicier~ than Bridgerton on that level.

The Wickham Family Album: Volume XX
Tumblr media
Although Augustus isn't a natural, there's something about music that really speaks to him. (He only has 4 Serious/Playful points, but I haven't been able to prise him away from the keyboard since it first arrived in the house, and now he's obsessed with his MP3 player.)
Tumblr media
Picking on his siblings is entirely innate, however. Isn't this getting old yet, Augustus?
Tumblr media
Aww, leave Rebecca alone, she's just a kid!
Tumblr media
Laura is the only one who seems to escape his bullying.
Tumblr media
Later that day, someone has a date with Grim. And while Catherine and Anthony are oblivious (robots are far more interesting than skeletal apparitions), the salient point that George has challenged Death - and won - seems to have escaped Simon and Kitty.
Tumblr media
Take that, Mr Reaper, George is going nowhere! He still has plenty of pleasure-seeking left in him.
Tumblr media
The very next day, Kitty is not so fortunate, and it's time to say goodbye. Her grandsons are obviously very upset - she has stood in for their mother since they tragically lost her as babies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bizarrely, Catherine decides that this is the perfect moment to propose to Simon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Really, Catherine, he's literally just lost his mum! Could your timing have been any less appropriate?
Tumblr media
To make matters worse, George demonstrates even less respect for his dead wife's memory! That very evening, he invites over his long-term mistress, Marla.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fond as they are of their granddad, this is too much for the kids. Except Augustus, who's much more interested in bashing out those tunes on the keyboard.
Tumblr media
It seems a bit of family snowman building is in order, to take their minds off recent developments!

Dream cast for a new P&P movie or limited series?
Like for reals? If I had unlimited budget
Nicholas Hoult as Fitzwilliam Darcy
Olivia Cooke as Elizabeth Bennett
Millie Bobby Brown as Georgiana Darcy
John Boyega as Charles Bingley
Tessa Thompson as Caroline Bingley
Sarah Bolger as Jane Bennet
Maisie Williams As Lydia Bennet
Colin O'Donoghue as George Wickham
Savannah Steyn as Charlotte Lucas
Rupert Grint as Mr Colins
Lewis Tan as Darcy's hotter cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam
Anthony Hopkins as Mr Bennett Fiona Shaw as Mrs Bennet
Also I know that nothing tops Dame Judy dench. But I'd love to see Tilda Swinton pay Lady Catherine in all her scary beautiful glory.
Can't think of who would be good to play Mary and Kitty but so far. Yeah this is my Dreamcast if a big budget studio decided to take on the project.

Pride Month and Prejudice
Pride Month and Prejudice
by TawnyOwl95
They say that you should never meet your celebrity crush. Especially when you know what an absolute bastard he is.
So, of course, Anthony J. Crowley's participation in a queer adaptation of Pride and Prejudice for Pride Month has nothing to do with the involvement of A-lister A.Z. Fell.
Crowley is only doing it so he has some gossip for his column. He didn't mean to get cast as Lizzy Bennet, he certainly didn't mean to be acting opposite Fell's Mr Darcy.
And to make matters worse, Fell keeps staring at him...
