I've come to the conclusion that everything is Alden's fault. Alvar turning evil? Alden. Fitz's anger issues? Alden. 1/2 Forkle dead? Alden. World hunger? Alden. Global warming? Alden. Donald Trump? Alden.

kotlcblr should shut the fuck up actually
Keefe is a mid character at best and people are allowed to be mad he's getting so much focus over the main damned character
Also everyone else has equal if not more potential for development than Keefe and yet constantly giving him plots has taken away any space for them. Its annoying and it sucks and people are allowed to be mad about it
That said Keefe is the most popular damned character in the whole series. Everyone complaining about widespread Keefe hate what invisible demons are you fighting
Dex isn't a cinnamon roll nor is he a bully. Stina regularly called him and his parents elf slurs and never changes her views throughout the entire series. He pulled a prank on her as revenge for something she did, and they live in a world where temporary body modification means nothing. The next scene we see her in she has her back, she's fine, AND she sneaks a live creature into Dex's locker - which requires DNA to get into
Alden sucks. However he does not mean to. Cassius on the other hand is a genuine asshole who knows he sucks and still abuses his son and I cannot believe people are defending him
Tiana and Dexiana are both mid and Biana is a boring character
Stina is barely developed, never really stopped being mean, and a bigot. People need to shut the fuck up about her
Christians are not oppressed especially not in this fandom and everyone should shut up about it.

having a cat is so cool, because i pretty much have a built in best friend. we do everything in proximity to each other. i'm never lonely because he's attached to me at the ankle. i'm on a couch, he's in my lap. i'm in bed, he's curled up to my chest. i'm sitting at a desk or table, he's laying in a chair next to me. when i'm crocheting he's trying to eat my wool. when i'm drawing he's trying to bite my pencils. he wakes up with me, and falls asleep with me. he meows me goodbye when i leave in the morning, and sprints to the front door when i come home. he's actually the coolest little guy ever

just because abusers can be sympathetic doesn’t mean they aren’t abusers. you can’t ADMIT to alden fucking up his kids and say “but he didn’t MEAN it and he’s still a good PERSON.” i get that people here have their own issues but the way some of you are just trying to justify and rationalise child abusers is. wow..

Unless new actors (Graham Hamilton, Billie Lourd, Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover) are cast in the roles, I do not want the ot characters to appear in ahsoka or filoni's heir to the empire movie, you have actors who can fill the roles perfectly, cast them if you want those characters, but do not use cgi puppet ai voice deep fakes who can't even emote, if not then leave them out of it

I will never forgive Kathleen Kennedy for basically throwing Alden under the bus for being the reason Solo underperformed because she didnt want any of the blame instead of backing the decision to cast Alden. It just shows how little she cares for any of the cast unless the feedback of the project is positive.

A huge blow was laid to the anti-human political party when one of their own upper members was caught cheating in the freedom duels and was charged with bribery and attempted assault against another member of the duels. He has been given three years jail time and is banned from participating in any official sport as well as government position.
The royal, empress, of the gold monsters recently came out as both a human supporter and soulbonded to her husband Louis. She is the first royal in ebott history to have an open relationship with a human!
Hooks world has been rocked with the discovery of a now nine year old son petey with his ex Stuffin. He’s struggling with the grief of learning he missed most of his child’s life while also coming to terms with the fact that he’s a dad. Captain is urging hook to sue for partial custody, but hook is unsure if that will be good for Petey who has a stable life right now with his mothers.
Baby Theo can shortcut!
Positive news
Lior dreemur, the child of the royals Asgore and Toriel made his first public appearance this freedom festival. All reports have been positive, and footage of the baby yawning has gone viral!
There are talks with the royals about the ex mafia members placements in the plea bargain. It has been approved that many of the lower ranked mafia are having their criminal slate wiped clean next year so that they may pursue alternative careers. The higher ranked members will still be in service to the crown as of now
Baby Theo can shortcut!
Wine finally grew a spine and asked sans out on a date!! …. Maybe I should put this in the drama section actually
Due to the potion stands at the freedom festival, the popularity of Grimm made products have skyrocketed in the last week. Trade between the covens of waterfall and Goldenvalley have started picking up
Bloopers
Rhythm gave pop a bottle of lovers wine as a gag gift thinking his asexual brother wouldn’t be affected. It worked. E was “attacked” by an unusually cuddly husbone after the festival

How and why did Elvis go down hill so fast after the Aloha from Hawaii concert
Tumblr media
ahh this is a really interesting question, thank you for the ask <3 !! also I’m sorry if I didn’t interpret this correctly and if you mean’t the immediate aftermath of the special, I kind of answered in terms of the long run 😭
now this might be an unpopular opinion but I don’t believe that Elvis actually ever went ‘downhill’ at a constant or steady rate
Many fans, biographers, and reviewers sort of see the Aloha special as ‘past the point of no return’ for Elvis, meaning they see it his last moment of “greatness”, or the last moment where he was truly on top
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Aloha special was no doubt a peak moment for Elvis, but I don’t definitely don’t view it as his “final truly great moment”. I also don't see the special as him reaching the top of the mountain and then next 4 years are him going down it. I see the special as one peak of many, in fact I think he continued to have peak moments up until his passing, which is why the suddenness of his death is so tragic because I don’t believe he was done. He was of course physically not well but not to the point that he wouldn’t have been able to overcome it if he had more time and proper care
Another reason that I can’t say he ever steadily declined is because that throughout his career, particularly in the 60s and 70s, Elvis had periods of highs and lows that often coincided with how his personal life was going i.e family, friends, girlfriends etc.etc
For example the tail end of the summer in 1976 was a particularly rough patch for Elvis. His health was declining, his relationship with Linda was on its’ last legs, his group was split (Dave, Red and Sonny had been fired), and Doctor Nick even stopped being his physician after a fallout had occurred and Doctor Elias Ghanem stepped in
Doctor Ghanem was even more neglectful in taking care of Elvis and as a result Elvis was loaded up on anti-depressants, sleeping pills, and other extremely debilitating narcotics. He was rendered almost completely incontinent. Thus resulting in one of Elvis’ worst tours yet, and one of his worst rated shows ever aka ‘Houston we have a problem’ which was taped on August 28th 1976
Reportedly Elvis was slurring and stumbling so badly on stage that several fans walked out, one reviewer even noted fans crying as they left
“People had witnessed the side effects from Elvis's medications during his performance in Houston. Elvis had taken Sparine (for depression), which contributed to muscle and speech problems. It knocked the bottom out of him, dropped his blood pressure. He couldn't do diddly-squat”
excerpt from the book “The King and Dr. Nick” by George Nichopoulos
It was one terrible show/performance after the next and Elvis was pushing himself to the limits and suffering because of it. According to band members Elvis had to be convinced to go on stage because he was so worried about disappointing the crowd. He wanted to perform better but his body physically wouldn’t let him. It was so terrible that just after 3 days of Elvis being under Doctor Ghanem’s care, Doctor Nick was called back and began working again to regulate Elvis’ prescription use
And then on November 19th, 1976, Elvis met 20-year-old Ginger Alden, and to just say he had “improved” would be a massive understatement. He began performing like he hadn’t been for years, resulting in one of his best tours, and some of his best shows such as his New Year’s Eve performance on December 31st, 1976. And more than just his career/shows, Elvis’ mood had visibly lifted, he was out of his depression and he was much more optimistic for the future
Tumblr media
excerpt from the book “Elvis: My best man” by George Klein
Tumblr media
excerpt from the book “If I can dream” by Larry Geller
So Elvis went from having one of his worst-rated concerts, to one of his best-rated concerts in just the span of a few months, which again proves to me at least that his “decline” wasn’t steady
When he was motivated and inspired, he could do incredibly great things, whether that motivation came from a single girl he wanted to impress in the audience or billions of people around the world like in the Aloha special
And this pattern can be seen throughout his career
Like in the 60s where Elvis would tend to let himself go a little bit between films and then when a script was given for his next picture, he would find the motivation to get back “in shape”, even reducing the amount of prescriptions pills he was taking in order to do so
But even the films eventually grew tiresome and Elvis didn’t find that motivation for his career again until the 68 comeback special. dontbeecruel breaks down the lead up to the special like Shakespeare I swear- please take the time to read it for yourself if you haven’t (it’s amazing) 😩 ⬇️
Another instance in the 70s where Elvis was able to recover from a low/downhill period and rise again was after his divorce with Priscilla. His saving grace, inspiration, and motivation this time came to him as Linda Thompson
Tumblr media
excerpt from the book “A Little thing called Life” by Linda Thompson
The divorce undoubtedly caused was one of the lowest periods in Elvis’ life. He began taking pills and prescriptions that he had never had before such as Demerol and Dilaudid, his behavior became more erratic than ever, and he was in a deep depression, resulting in the decline of both his physical and mental health
It took him a while to recover but he eventually did, and I do honestly credit that to Linda’s presence in his life as she helped him move on
Tumblr media
excerpt from “A Little thing called Life” by Linda Thompson
This decline and then rise can even be seen physically ⬇️
Left: Elvis in 1973, the day his divorce was finalized, where Priscilla says she was stricken by his appearance and worried for his health
Right: Elvis in 1974, visibly healthier, and performing in one of his best shows of a incredible tour
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So again, Elvis went from enduring one of the worst periods of his life, declining mentally and physically, to improving and performing at his best again… all within the span of a year
I guess that’s why it breaks my heart when people act like Elvis’ last great moment was at 38 in the Aloha Special, and then every year after that was just downhill. He was always singing his heart out as best he could, even towards the end, and again, if his career was managed in his best interest and if his doctors acted in his best interest, I believe he would have many more moments like the Aloha special, he just wasn’t given enough time to do so

im not anti alden or pro alden but a secret third thing
he literally just needs therapy he’s not a villain but his intentions (which i am going to assume are good based on what we know of him) don’t feel like they… translate? based on how his kids ended up that one conversation with keefe etc.
and that’s also like… i personally headcanon him as not white because i am latina and my mother is like that (to a slightly more severe degree) (and im not saying like.. all immigrant/latine/brown parents are like that but it’s just.. projection i guess? and like… generational trauma is wild…)
but anyways yeah he’s that parent who was raised a certain way or had rough experiences and then projects that on their kids, sort of like… to protect them they end up pushing them (in terms of sports or school or hobbies or being self sufficient) and inadvertently they give their own kids issues and i don’t know if im explaining this very well but yeah i think the vackers are the embodiment of generational trauma
but he also loves his kids! it comes from a place of care and while it’s not the healthiest at times or very good for them, he’s still trying, he’s doing his best with what he has and what he was taught so yeah he’s not a monster or anything (i have the same perspective with baghra from the grishaverse)

why do u think grady is a bad parent
i don't think he's a bad parent per se, but i do think he's worse than alden. anon, you're going to get a lot more than this, coming soon (a different anon got to me first so i'm typing out a whole essay in response), but i want to be one step closer to a clean inbox, so i'm kicking you out.
here's the the gist of it: it's a combination of the "that boy" thing (which i find incredibly immature), the fact that he doesn't seem to trust sophie with making her own romantic decisions, the fact that he gave sophie the boys talk as a punishment, not as a learning experience (she gets the talk because she met with keefe behind his back; any sort of coming-of-age/puberty talk should not be given as a punishment), a few personal opinions (i hate the "dad immediately antagonizes the boyfriend/potential boyfriend" trope for example), and i think his way of parenting sophie is borderline misogynist sometimes, which is funny for a series that. isn't supposed to have misogyny.
all of this is very interesting to look at from, say, a character study point of view, but i'm looking at him solely from a "would i want this guy to be my dad?" point of view. for which the answer is a definitive no (from me). the narrative acknowledges some of the things i dislike about his parenting style, doesn't acknowledge others, and sort of . . . half? acknowledges? some other things, in a way of like "oh, that's just a thing grady does, grady will be grady". kind of unserious. anyway i'll talk about it more so. that's coming.

There’s literally no one in Fitz Vacker’s life who’s ever chosen him first. His parents chose his family name and status (and if you believe the ‘Alden is the leader of the Neverseen’ theory, that) to the point of putting him in danger from as young as six, KNOWINGLY. Sophie and Keefe have always chosen each other, Biana has her own friends, as does everyone else. Alvar chose the Neverseen over his family even if he died for it. I don’t even know what to think about this tbh, it’s the fact they almost all have people who would put them first except Fitz and that’s so sad to me.
