hate how Dan slutshamed Jenny for dudes being perverts by saying she was wearing a cocktail napkin, placing the blame on her. Her dress wasn't even inappropriate. He didn't slutshame Blair even though she was the one the older dude made out with in 1x5. Jenny deserved a better brother.

hi!! I'd forgotten he said that but ur so right 😭😭 like the way both dan and rufus treat jenny is kinda interesting bc they both try to keep her as some innocent little girl when she obviously isn't and wants to embrace the ues lifestyle (which dan wants too). and then when she does try to be mature and fit in dan, as u said, slutshames her for no reason when she didn't even do anything. I think that a lot of dan's moral superiority was kinda performative bc he was just as bad as everyone, if not worse at times, including to his own sister

I want to start reading fan fiction of them, but I have no idea where to begin.

My only requirements are that it's in English (why must you be the only language my stupid brain could leadn), is an AU and that (while I don't mind if he shows up) Chuck doesn't get any kind of a redemption arc like if he's in the story I want the narative to treat him like the villain he is (the same with Louie tbh but I'm guessing he dosn't get much focus).

I would also prefer it if it took place when they're adults (but I'm willing to give fics of them getting together sooner a try).

Beloved, I loved Dan Humphrey. As in for years when everyone was calling him bland and boring, I LOVED Dan and was rooting for him. And then in one revelation and a rewatch that all went away. Because there was Dan pretending to be so lonely and overlooked and so above all the drama, while directly contributing to the toxicity.

It made every interaction with Serena and Blair feel so gross and every friendship seem so opportunistic. But yeah, I would love Penelope if she was thin.
