I think the fact that all the variants in the void very easily and casually accepted a crocodile being a ā€œLokiā€ but Sylvie being female was so shocking to them tells you everything you need to know about the series and the people who wrote it

The scrapped Avengers 5 script that was cowritten by Waldron was seemingly posted online and he was not done ruining Loki (at least the show version). Not sure if it's actually the real script or a hoax, but I still wanted to inform people about it, because it's bad. The entire thing is a mess. It's basically a copy of Infinity War as in the main villains (several versions of Kang) need the plotdevices to do catastrophic damage and basically everybody dies. Really, almost everybody gets killed off. He also involves almost every character that's currently alive in the MCU in this script, so they each barely get any screentime and no personality whatsoever. I haven't actually read the thing so I can't say how much time he had to ruin the characters, but it's Waldron so I'm assuming he still managed to do that somehow.
As for what he did to Loki specifically, apparently one of the Kangs drains him of his powers and presumably killed him (again). This is going to disappoint a lot of people who, despite the ways Loki as a character has been ruined by the show, still hoped that the ending would lead to them doing something cool with his new position and powers and/or would lead to him reuniting with Thor. Neither of this happens and I think even the show fans would be disappointed by them ruining the so-called "perfect ending to his character arc." Guess it was just a new way to kill him off and rub it in our faces after all. It's Infinity War all over again. He would've gotten ruined for nothing.
So glad this script got scrapped, even though I have zero faith in the Russo's considering they were the ones who thought of IW in the first place. I do think they will do somewhat better than Waldron since they can at least do action scenes. Even so, this is another warning not to get your hopes up that the MCU will not ruin Loki in some way or another in the upcoming movies.

Tbh the growth that Loki had in the Loki series wouldn't be so unbelievable if they actually tried to write said growth
Bc no matter how much Waldron or Martin try to spin it, there is absolutely no way Avengers-era Loki, when stripped of his power and put in an entirely unfamiliar environment that is borderline/very much hostile, would act the way he did
He would not be happily going along with the TVA and accepting pretty much everything they tell him
He would not be pleading for Mobius or Sylvie or whoever else and looking up at them with those big Hiddleston eyes
Not even Ragnarok Loki, who is the most "heroic" of all Loki iterations that we've had in the MCU, would act that way, and that's saying a lot
"But technically series Loki is a different Loki--" the fact still stands that he is Avengers Loki. Killed-eighty-people-in-two-days Loki. Brought-an-alien-army-to-New-York Loki. THAT Loki is what they were working with in the series, and instead of actually making his character growth in-character and well paced, they got rid of it immediately
To put into perspective, it would be like if we took Tony Stark from the first 10 minutes of Iron Man, and in the next half hour, he does his Endgame sacrifice. Doesn't work, does it?
If you want to make Loki a "hero", go ahead and do it, just put in the work. Don't have him be so soft from the get-go. The closest moment I have seen of Loki actually acting closer to what he should be acting like was when he fired that blast at Brad in s2 episode 2, and that's still a very long stretch in my opinion
Even if you are a fan of the series, you have to admit that this makes no sense. At the very least we should've gotten TDW Loki, but noooo, Waldron wants his stupid self-insert

I am really getting annoyed with people said "loki is just narcissistic person, strange is just arrogant doctor, Wanda is just selfish crazy", okey they are lie that more than that but somehow everyone forgetting that they have trauma and pain(not justify bad actions but still) and they keep insist that they need getting more punishment.
Then we have stark, yeah we know him and if someone say he is just arrogant selfish billionaire other standard will say he ore than that and they said stark didn't deserve punishment what he did , really?
I am have to say I have one fanfic not Wanda friendly but I take theme in MOM because how I hate Wanda in MOM (thanks Waldron make me hate Wanda) from all her on screen MOM is in my hate list.
Also you can see how many Wanda, loki and strange got punishment in fanfic rather than stark, they justify his actions.
They never cared to humanize Stark's victims. We just had that woman in CW who was written horribly and to make matters worse, Stark was framed sympathetically in that scene. Go figure! And of course that scene is followed by him claiming the entire team has to be """held accountable""" (not just him, the team) and when some of them push back he's shown to be the rational one. What a joke.
With that kind of absolute narrative protection, is it any wonder so many people claim he feeling bad for 0.2 seconds is enough?
Whereas with Wanda we know the names of the people she hurt, we heard them speak and explain how much pain they were in. (I always laugh every time I see someone claim WandaVision was on Wanda's side.. lol no).
In Loki's case, his whole past and characterization were retconned and simplified by Waldron and Feige, and those around him were framed in a positive light while he was shown as an evil character who will always have to be paying for his mistakes. Odin, Thor, Sylvie, Mobius... none of them are held accountable so the difference in framing is even clearer.
And with Stephen, he's so unlucky that he got his own movie taken from him and once again his story was simplified for some reason I do not understand. His pain, sacrifices, his story are an afterthought in MoM and ironically enough, he was written miles better in NWH than in his own film. And of course, we got other characters telling him he's evil, he's selfish, he's a villain, bla bla.
In short: he's defined (negatively) by others. Just like Loki. Ever see them defining or defending themselves? Nah. If they defend themselves they're "arrogant" and "narcissistic" šŸ™„
So I'm not surprised those three are treated like crap by the fandom while Stark is praised to the heavens and back.
Stephen, Wanda and Loki are not perfect. But the thing is... they don't need to be. In fact, they shouldn't be. That's what makes them so interesting, it's what sets them apart from the clear-cut heroes. What we should be getting about them is the why they're not perfect + the circumstances behind their actions and beliefs, those are crucial when it comes to morally grey characters. Otherwise we just end up with "they did x so they're y" bullshit writing.

' Loki could only be in love with himself lol'
It's funny how the writers of the Loki show couldn't be bothered to understand the real nature of mental illness.
Loki came from a deep seated self hatred and believed he wasn't good enough, thanks to his father and his brother.
But thanks to the Loki show,
A. Loki's mental issues are comically dismissed as him just 'being too into himself'.
B. Him being a representation of 'the other', AKA people who are ' different' from normal society, was just watered down to ' selfish villain trope'.
C. Him suddenly not being able to fight when Sylvie can ( and no, he loses the ability to fight that he had in the movies when he's outside the TVA, so there's no excuse) is him just ' being a prince' .
Did Waldron forget that Thor was a prince too??
It's amazing how the writers of the show just didn't care about the title of their own show, let alone like it.

It actually didn't hit me until very recently just how completely Multiverse of Madness ruined Wanda
Because even if she does come back, it's a permanent part of her story now. If and when Wanda comes back, Marvel needs to either face what they've forced her to do head-on, or retcon it out of existence.
[And I use the phrasing "forced her to do" because nothing in that desecration of a movie is in character for her, so as far as I'm concerned she would only act that way due to an external force. I could go on, but it would get really abstract.]
Chances are they'll do neither. I think it's more likely that MoM's existence will be acknowledged, but it will be treated like Wanda redeemed herself. That would be the worst of both worlds, because it would both validate that movie, and give the seething haters more ammunition to claim that the MCU is trying to downplay Wanda's evil actions.

The Loki Series is just one big torture porn show, all they ever do is hurt Loki, demonize him for no reason, make up stuff to demonize him some more, and a lot of other things. I hate this show so much. All of the characters (Mostly Sylvie and Mobius) treat him abusively like verbally abusing and physically abusing him constantly. They try to make up things about new york that aren't true just to slander him and justify their torture porn, the real truth that was CONFIRMED is thanos tortured and used the mind stone on Loki to do those things in new york, look it up, also they make up things like say he killed his mother, when he didn't, Kurse did that, and that's in Thor 2, the writers keep making things up to demonize him for no reason. Sylvie and Mobius both constantly accuse Loki of things he didn't do. The Sif scene was just one big excuse to torture him as well. I'm sorry I'm just venting, it hurts my heart every day what they do to Loki, and it just isn't fair!!! I'm not watching season 2 but I'm observing it from others comments and I'm glad I'm not watching it because they keep wanting to hurt him, just like they did in season 1. I know I sound crazy, because to most people they wouldn't be this upset of the treatment of a fictional character, but I am, and it affects my mental health so much...

I’ve been trying to keep this blog about appreciating OG Loki instead of any negativity, but goodness is the series the bane of my existence. Imagine looking up your favorite character, and having to scroll past every result that comes up.
Imagine the only part of the fandom/community you can enjoy being a small side of Tumblr away from the main tags.
You cannot relate to anyone on Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, etc..
A subdivision on Tumblr of a fandom is all you have!
Finding decent Loki merch is hard enough as it is, but now you need to look out for hourglasses, and the colors orange and brown.
This is all because of the series. This is why us anti series blogs/OG Loki fans are so ā€œcruelā€ and ā€œevil.ā€ This is why it’s so serious to us. It’s weird to feel alienated where you should feel like you belong.
Many of us lost the fandom that we once knew and loved. It’s not just about the series or how Loki is miswritten, its about us losing the connection we once easily had with others. You shouldn’t have to constantly explain yourself to others who are supposed to be in the same fandom as you.
I share a fandom with people who don’t understand the source that spawned the fandom in the first place. I share a fandom with people who’s only knowledge (of the character we’re all supposed to know and love) is ship fanart, fanfiction, fan theories, and headcanons. I share a fandom with people who take lighthearted Tumblr posts from years ago that jokingly state that Loki is around 16/17 years old seriously and as canon. I share a fandom with people who refuse to think critically.
It’s not just a fictional character or movies. It’s something we are passionate about, and it’s hard to share those passions with others who do not understand a fraction of any of it.
I’m very grateful for this side of Tumblr and I hope that one day we could have our fandom back. You shouldn’t have to make an entire subdivision of a fandom in order to see things about the characters ORIGINAL and DEFINITIVE appearances.
Fuck the series as well as anyone who groups OG Loki with the variant. Makes things a thousand times harder. I can’t even watch edits because you’ll think it’s an edit of TDW Loki… but then here comes clips of that variant. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
Girl if I have to see that clip of the variant bent over a table one more time… I think i’m gonna lose it.
Certain sides of Pinterest, old Tumblr posts/blogs that have been inactive since 2014, and Google’s/YouTube’s ā€œBefore:Yearā€ feature my beloveds. Blogs on dedicated to OG Loki my beloveds. Thor 2011, The Avengers, and Thor The Dark World my beloveds. My oomfs/mutuals my beloveds.

I will forever hate how Multiverse of Madness treated Strange's arc, I would wonder how they managed to miss the point that badly, but it's Michael Waldron so I guess I shouldn't be that surprised
Bc in the first Doctor Strange movie, Strange prided himself on perfection. Being the perfect surgeon, the perfect man, the perfect person for Christine. When he got in that accident and his hands were mangled, he wasn't just angry at the fact he could no longer perform, but that he was no longer perfect. He was forever broken
That was why the watch meant so much to him. It was given to him by Christine, sure, but even after the accident the face remained perfect. The watch mirrored Strange, it represented his old life; it was the one part of him that was still "perfect". When it was broken, he cried not just bc he loved Christine, but now it was flawed, just like him
By the end of the first movie, Strange has learned that he doesn't have to be perfect, and that he's okay with not being perfect. He doesn't need to fix the watch. He doesn't need to fix himself. Being flawed is fine
But they completely throw that out the window in Multiverse of Madness! Not only do we still have him pining over Christine, which hey, the first movie showed him getting over, but we have his whole perfection thing again. It's the exact same arc from Doctor Strange, only Waldron fumbled it all
They have him fix the watch. The watch that represented him, the watch that kept him humble, the watch that reminded him being broken wasn't a bad thing? They have Strange fix it and give it to America. Why? Oh, bc now he's over Christine
HE WAS OVER CHRISTINE A LONG TIME AGO. What was the point of this??
Giving it to America isn't that big of a deal, since it still represents humility and being flawed, but getting it fixed says: "yeah, I don't really care about keeping myself down-to-earth, I'm totally perfect la la la la la". Even if that wasn't Waldron's intention, it still comes off that way. He completely missed the point of the watch and assumed it only represented Strange's love for Christine when if he had just bothered to watch the first movie, he would've known this wasn't the idea of it
But hey, missing the point is Waldron's point, ig

Speaking of corporate sabotage, I recently acquired the art of book for MOM and found something...interesting.
Guess who does the foreword to the book!?
Not Benedict!
Not Raimi!
Not Kevin Feige!
Oh no, no, no, no...
It's fucking WALDRON!!!
Tumblr media
Look, I've tried to be nice to Waldron. I've tried giving him the doubt on several occasions, I've tried to be understanding of the position he was in. Hell, I've never once brought up the tweet that made people think he might be a pedo, because I have no proof and it might just be the guy's an idiot who shouldn't post every random thought he has on Twitter.
But my hatred towards this man has bubbled up for over two years and I just can't take it anymore.
I've been convinced for awhile that Waldron might either have dirt on Kevin Feige he's blackmailing him with, or that they're in a relationship, or both, and this just confirms it for me!
Why is Waldron the one making this introduction and not the Director? Or the main actor? Or even the primary producer? I hate to break it to him but no one was coming to this film for you, DUDE!!! They came because they're Marvel fans, or Doctor Strange fans, or Scarlet Witch fans, or Raimi fans, or a combination of those four!
And at least the other three I mentioned are recognizable successes (mostly), all Waldron is known for is writing one (not very good) episode of Rick & Morty, and being the showrunner of two shows, one of them he was the head writer for (Loki). And even then, Kate Heron, the director for Loki S1 had writers on set who were re-writing his scripts. So yeah, you're not a writer, Waldron. You're just some corporate shmuck who thinks you've made it big when you haven't.
Bottom line, if you did fuck your way to the top and think there'll be no consequences, Waldron? You've got another thing coming!

It's absolutely wild how such a fantastic character like Wanda can be her amazing self for 6 whole years only for an absolute rookie to show up and destroy all previous work done for her in just two freaking hours.
But Marvel has done that a few times. They had Steve at his peak in TWS then CW and EG happened. Loki was awesome in TDW but then Ragnarok and his series ruined him completely. WandaVision treated Wanda and her story beautifully but then MoM released and everything they had achieved in her series went down the drain. And for what?
Steve was always going to leave post-EG so why ruin his arc? Loki could have become the guy who keeps an eye on the multiverse (or whatever it is that he's doing now) without having his character thrown under the bus. And Wanda had no need to be in MoM since that was supposed to be Stephen's movie, but if she absolutely had to be part of the story, why turn her into a caricature?
What of MoM changes if Wanda keeps her wonderful characterization from the series? Nothing! She's still corrupted by the Darkhold, her powers are still upped to 11 and she can be a little lost while at the same time staying a complex and fantastic character. There was no need to do what they did.
