Sonic Crack Ships

So lately I've been going through a Sonic phase though its mostly a Tails phase if im being honest with myself. I've been trying to watch all the Sonic media and read all the Sonic comics that I can while playing a few Sonic games here and there. So my messed up brain came up with this stupid idea. What if I put every version of every canon Sonic characters from all Sonic media into multiple rounds of the hunger games simulator until only ones left. So I did that and even though I literally did it yesterday I already forgot who won I just remember it was something stupid. I also did it with all the diffrent canon and AU versions of Tails I could find and the winner was actually Tails from Sonic Boom. But anyways im getting off track where im going with this is that today while I was doing nothing lying in bed my brain came up with an even more messed up idea. What if I put all the Sonic characters not including the humans into a random wheel picker on Google to form a bunch of crack ships. So I did it for every character on the wheel. I now have a list. And I have decided to post this list because I find it funny. And I dare people to draw a couple from this list together or make a short cute crack story about one of these ships. Not really anything to do with your AUs but I’ve seen your one post involving possible phobias Scourge may have being as an Anti Sonic. So if his fear is fire, the opposite of Sonic’s fear, what about agoraphobia to add on to the list?

In some portrayals of Sonic (Sonic Boom and Sonic X) , it is implied that he may be claustrophobic. Scourge might not even mind tight spaces too much, just more annoyed than anything. However in spaces or situations that might remind him of his childhood, he can become extremely avoidant. I imagine it worsens after breaking out of No Zone Jail, when he has some time to process everything and dislikes any place that reminds him of the no zone recreation yard or his cell a lot.

The guy is not good at keeping himself together.

Yeah, this makes sense! I like it! Sonic himself is already pretty avoidant of his problems, so I can totally see Scourge taking that to the next level. Boy is just not healthy.

Goodness, imagine Scourge getting into a situation that triggers his agoraphobia and he just. Breaks down. Probably takes Fiona to help calm him down. And afterwards, Scourge just feels so ashamed. He's SCOURGE THE HEDGEHOG and he couldn't even handle interacting with a person who had the vibes of his dad or walking into a room that vaguely resembled the Zone Jail cafeteria. Pathetic.

yes i created a whole bio for this character. i was wondering when watching sonic prime, where does the resistance get all their weapons and uniforms? maybe they imply rebel rouge makes it, or maybe there's someone else behind the scenes. hence our resident hotshot

-hotshot makes all the uniforms and weapons for the resistance, but doesn't ever show herself in the fights. i headcanon that she was the first one the chaos council did cyborg experiments on, and that's how she lost her eye. the resistance managed to help her escape before she lost more than an eye, but she vowed not to go near them again.

-all her outfit and tools are recycled from whatever stuff she can scrounge

-i have this headcanon that sticks always wears skirts. as well as being a mechanic and craftsman, hotshot also is a decent seamstress and artist, so she makes uniforms for the resistance--as well as alters her own clothes

I'm cool with Archie but not IDW and not in the way many others are.

Granted, last time I read anything Archie was when the last issue came out and I definitely have a much better grasp on writing, characterization and story structure now. I eventually need to reread it, it's just...so much.

Now it did things I didn't like and I remember taking issue with back then. The whole "Sonic needs to learn how to control the darkness of his Werehog form so it doesn't overwhelm him" was stupid, grated on me back then and even more so now. I don't wanna even mention Scourge and the anti universe...

Why I'm okay with it is because right from the beginning, it was clear they were taking after SatAM and doing their own thing, as opposed to IDW which many, including staff members, keep propping up as game Sonic and following that continuity.

Don't give me cake and tell me it's pie. Archie is upfront that it's cake with some pie-like elements thrown in while IDW refuses to admit it's not pie.

When Sally ended up roboticized, Sonic screaming her name as the page faded to white, him desperately pleading for his old friend to fight it and come back to him…that hit me. Would it have be in-character for game Sonic? Not really, but did I like the anguish it caused me? Absolutely.

That's because I went into Archie with the understanding that it was an AU in the same way Underground and Boom are AUs. It might not be game Sonic and it's perfectly fine if you don't like that take, but they never lied to me and said it was game Sonic. It did it's own thing and I was able to enjoy it for what it was.

I was actually talking about how the Sonic franchise in general has had so many adaptations with wildly different interpretations of just Sonic and Eggman alone, than whether their characterizations in the games themselves were consistent or not. Which is what I was trying to get at with Ian's whole inconsistency excuse, because IDW is still(I guess) supposed to be seperate from the games, and starting from scratch after Archie's cancellation. The dude and the other creative staff have some degree of control over this seperate canon. Just because he thinks Sega is being inconsistent in the games doesn't mean he can't at least try to maintain some of it within the continuity he is working on, or at least establish some basic rules for it and follow them. He talks like as if Sega is holding him at gunpoint to make the writing decisions he's been making recently.

But yeah. As far as the games themselves are concerned, Sonic not being a self-righteous douche, and Eggman being kind of an asshole, have been very consistence traits of their's throughout it's history, even during the so-called "Dark Age" and "Meta Era".

Good point. This is why I'm not bothered by the Boom versions of the characters: sure, Knuckles is dumb and illiterate, and Eggman is a softie with a crush on Sonic, but they also never pretended to be the original Knuckles and Eggman.

When Sonic X, arguably more faithful to the games, turns Amy into a yandere and Eggman into an anti-villain, we start to have more problems... but again, that is technically an adaptation. X!Eggman never became canon to the games anyway.

As for IDW... you know what he could have said? That. IDW Sonic is not quite the same as SEGA Sonic. It's an AU. It's his interpretation, much like Sonic X interpreted Sonic as a big introvert who spends most of his time napping and running. What, are the fans really going to question that? They'd just say that his version is better anyway :V but at least he'd be honest about it.

But of course, saying that he's following the SEGA standard elevates his writing much more :) this is the thing. He wants to parade his writing as being nearly official. He can't just admit that IDW Sonic is his interpretation of Sonic: no, that is canon Sonic, he's just that good and influential.

He talks like as if Sega is holding him at gunpoint to make the writing decisions he's been making recently.

He may hate the word "mandates", but he sure is happy to blame them for writing choices his fans don't like.

Our Little Stroll (Anti Sonamy Boom)

Hey guys! This is my anti sonamy boom au drawing. I want to write Boom Sonic and Boom Amy's evil counterpart in their own Anti Sonic Boom zone or Boem zone. They are proud to be the evil twins, after all, their boom counterparts are indeed twins anyway. If we put aside alignment, moral, technogical advances and economy of the dimension, they have shared history and culture. I always picture them to be a partner in crime and childhood sweetheart similarly if they're their anti counterpart.

While their archie version showed them to be in toxic pschopathy relationship which Rosy was obssesed with smashing Scourge after the exposure of a special ring got Rosy insane. I didn't think this relationship would fit better if this is Anti Sonic Boom dimension. After all, in the Sonic Boom series, Sonic and Amy had a secret crush on each other while their age gap was only 3 years different. Boom Sonic and Boom Amy never have chase and run relationship. Boom Amy was not obsessed toward Sonic like the Earlier archie issues and earlier Sonic games showed. This is what I thought. Plus, it would be interesting if the Anti Sonamy Boom couple meet with the Sonamy Boom couple. Personally, they would have a frenemy relationship more than a foe relationship since the two same couples from their respective dimension had similar relationship history, genuine feeling and relationship toward each of their respective partner.

Essentially Sonic normally except mixed eith the movie- So Sonic has these birthmarks that glow a bright cyan when he runs fast and emit electricity, and the longer he runs the faster he goes.

Anyways onto Lightning!

He's nervous and more quiet (Classic Sonic) and he often only acts like 'true' snarky Sonic around Miles. He's EXTREMELY underappreciated and basically does any job people ask of him.

Go fetch this, go fetch that, clean the dishes, dust the house, ecect.

He's stronger than Miles but he doesn't have a backbone and is more of Miles shadow. You have to REALLY get to know him to see how sassy he can be.

Instead of normal Tails and tech it's Lightning and animals!

Lightning has pet names for Miles such as "cap'n" "lil fox buddy" "pilot" "sergeant" "m'lord" among many other silly goofy names.

Lightning is always bouncing one of his legs when sitting down (which often generates electricity), has nervous tiks, very spiky quills (go up and spike out when suprised), and whenever he's thinking too hard abt something..such as worrying about Miles... his pupils dilate to be fully black. His eyecolor changes depending how charged he is. (Green to glowing Cyan)

Lightning has great "Somethings wrong with Amy" potential.

Lightning retains most of Sonics abilities..and then some.

So does Miles. Except Miles can fly far longer, farther, and carry far more, than Tails..ect

Miles is a teenager, Lightning is a youngish adult.

Lightning is an animal whisperer.

Miles is a little nasty and emo but still cares a lot.

Lightning was the one who was bullied (accidentally causing electrical fires, outages, hurting ppl, ect)while Miles was praised and revered as he was seen as a miracle of nature.

In a swapped Sonic Prime Miles would always have to be convincing different versions of Lightning.

as i mentioned in my last post, i probably wont be posting about anything scu-related in the future, at the very least not anything praising it. if i reblog shadow referencing a keanu reeves role, my bad, ive only seen so many things with him in it. if i reblog scu art that i think is just mainline, my bad, i wasn't thinking. im gonna be honest i dont even think ill do little things, like stobotnik but in mainline context, though i will say, stobotnik mainline au may be like. the 1 exception??? because i do like the ship??? but thats the complete extent of what ill post, if that.

a part of me wants to say "but this is spoiling other people's fun!" and then the other part of me says "by not giving a platform to actors and a company that is complicit in genocide" and it shuts up the first half pretty easily. remember that considering everything, while yes it's likely to have very anti-military, anti-us themes, there is a chance both knuckles and sonic 3 will contain hidden pro-israel propaganda. if it wasnt obvious, i don't want to post about israeli propaganda.

for anyone who knows me personally, or at least messages me, im more likely to be more leniant seeing as. well. it's not public. but im still not sure if ill talk about it unless it comes up in conversation???

ik i have a handful of people here who are mostly scu fans, possibly even scu exclusive. ig im sorry??? i can understand why theres a lot of scu fans, so i suppose if you like scu but you also want to stop posting about it, may i recommend some OTHER things to try (this is a long list so buckle up:

hop (2011) has a similar plot to sonic 1 and has james marsden (who is also not a good person but i dont think even universal would care if youre pirating hop (2011))

a really good place to start is honestly the snapcube dubs!!! you might get a few spoilers from context clues but theyre a really fun way to get to know games a little bit! obviously, theres a big barrier of there only being 5 dubs of 4 games, but i feel like once youve watched the dubs you can sort of get into the rest of her videos from there (theres also. theres this one. this one series. that people like. btw.)

while yeah i recommend the games, theyre sort of hard to know where to start. all i can really say is, dont start from forces or frontiers, at least know the plot of sa2 and thats basically it. ig if you want to play EVERY game, you dont really need to play anything before sonic 3 & knuckles and even then you can still start from sonic adventure and learn the plot of s3&k

NiGHTS is fun but also youll learn nothing about sonic i just wanted to mention it

if youre more into the action, i recommend sonic prime (and also, a few fix-it-fics or rewritten endings)

i recommend sonic boom if you want the comedy* and the characters living (mostly) normal lives. also you can literally watch most of sonic boom for free on youtube idc if im biased i will die on the hill of it being the best sonic canon. yeah im even including rise of lyric. no i have not played rise of lyric. do not mention the wasted potential of the concepts or i will explode.

*no offense but sonic boom is way funnier. idc if im biased because the sonic films are honestly only a step up from mcu humour most of the time, if that

if you want lore, i recommend the comics rather than the games, seeing as its slightly daunting where to start with the games. for a slightly more sanitised and. ig "normal" experience, read either idw or post-reboot archie. but if you want things to get a little wild theres pre-reboot archie. the only archie comics ive read are sonic boom and NiGHTS, so im not speaking from experience. but. wow. theres a lot to unpack there

if for whatever reason you just want sonic thats completely different to the games, i recommend sonic the comic and any of the 90s cartoons!!! theyre honestly really fun and because theyre so early on in sonic history (?) theres so many inconsistencies

sonic the fighters is fun but also you literally will never have to play that ever and its hard to find anyway

im pretty sure ive mentioned every canon there??? and a few things i dont need to lol. but the point is, if you are a fan of scu, you arent immediately a bad person! BUT (and here's the bit you actually have to listen to): if you are posting and praising the scu, particularly the upcoming projects, you are giving a platform to a large chunk of zionists.

Sure! There's a handful of things Okida and I have brainstormed at one time or another that I can confidently say won't happen now. Gonna put it under the cut so the post isn't super long!

Black Knight

The main one is a second Storybook Series adventure, this time focusing on Black Knight. We had a good time thinking about the changes to the setting post-game. Our version was more SatAM themed, putting "Robotnik" in the role of an invading Roman general, and "Sally" as a renegade Guinevere leading a Robin Hood-esque band fighting back from Sherwood Forest. There would have been a focus on Silver playing Galahad's role and needing to go on the Seige Perilous. Sonic and Metal were along for the ride too, but due to some magic rules bullshitting Sonic didn't get alive'd again, but instead played a haunted sword alongside Metal as a shield, both wielded by Silver.

(I would have it be known that I came up with this BEFORE Pokemon's sixth gen came out, thus Honedge didn't exist yet. Nintendo, I expect my royalty check in the mail any day now.)

Long story short, while coming up with the setting was fun the story quickly got VERY big and didn't offer a ton of opportunity for character or plot advancement so in the interest of time we decided to not do it.

GOTF Marine

While figuring out all the New Chaotix stuff, we considered adding Marine to the cast. She would have been a friend of Blaze's who was obsessed with conspiracy theories, especially relating to aliens and GUN. She was very pushy and wild, and kind of a technical/hacker genius sort, and of course like her game counterpart she would have been terrified of ghosts. In this earlier version the parents' secrets were kept longer, so the kids ended up doing an investigation on their own, I think.

(I would have it be known that I came up with this BEFORE Sonic Boom or Steven Universe had come out, so Sticks and Peridot didn't exist yet. Cartoon Network, SEGA, I expect my royalty checks in the mail any day now.)

We didn't have anything in mind for her beyond that initial arc though, and Sicily ended up filling the role of paranoid techie person so she never made it in. A bit of a bummer, she would have been fun to write.

Tarnish

Tarnish was the name of Anti-Silver from Moebius, and was considered for a much longer version of the Moebius arc. He would have been the last surviving disciple of Antique's cult, her warped protege. You already know what he would have looked like, the outfit Silver wears during the story was originally intended for Tarnish. the big difference is that when he was a child, Antique had his arms amputated so he'd be forced to develop his psychokinesis faster. So he had big weird psi-arms.

While cool and spooky, Tarnish really boiled down to a miniboss for the gang to fight before reaching Antique, and since Okida and I were getting really tired of being stuck on Moebius we decided to just get back home ASAP. If I ever do a "director's cut" of GOTF in prose form, I'd probably put him back in and expand on Antique's whole deal.

That one time I wrote a GOTF screenplay in college

Ok so in my first screenwriting class in community college, I in my infinite hubris decided to write an alternate version of GOTF that would be more tied to the Archie-verse. I think I was around 17? It starts off as a pretty straight redo/update of Issue 1, then the story veers off as the Zone Cops bust in, here to arrest the boys and destroy the dimension for being a fan AU disrupting the balance of the multiverse. Unfortunately, the class wrapped before I got past the very beginning of act 2... but what's there isn't that bad? It's not perfect, but does a better job explaining the premise and doing things in an exciting way. I have it saved as a PDF, if people want I could put it up on my Patreon.

The absolute worst part was when we did a table read in class. Listening to a random dudebro do a "haha you're too slow!" Sonic impression while reading GOTF Sonic's Traumatic Backstory Monologue... truly exquisite suffering. The teacher loved it, he wanted to submit my script to a college screenwriting competition.
