can the hulu era futurama writers please for the love of god understand that not every episode needs to be an ensemble piece
#something that's bugged me about a lot of these episodes is the fact that they seem to shoehorn in as many characters as possible into#any given plot#yknow back in MY day most episodes would be about fry/leela/bender#with like an occasional hermes or amy or zoidberg thrown in#but most of the time everyone else was back at the office MINDING THEIR OWN DAMN BUSINESS while the other three delivered#im just saying it doesnt. leave room for very interesting b and c plots when everyone is doing everything together#let alone any room for actual character development on an individual level#main characters are main characters for a reason! side characters are side characters for a reason! both have merit and can be utilized in#different ways!!!!

I think people tend to assume that any criticism of worldbuilding is ultimately a demand for a story to grind itself to a halt and give the reader 20 paragraphs of exposition, and like. Most of the time good-faith criticism of this nature is coming from a core aspect of the story not being grounded in the setting in a way that outright detracts from the story's quality. You fix it not by Explaining but by Showing it passively in the makeup of the world.
Like the last instance I saw this critique in was like 'you can't expect an author to stop and exposit the nuances of gender roles/Queerness in a fictional society' and it's like yeah I don't, and in fact this is actually one of the easiest things to show in the text without exposition. If a society has gender norms to begin with you'll see aspects of these norms baked into EVERYTHING. You'll see it in its stories, its religion, its taboos, its etiquette, its clothing, its family structures, its language, its insults, its labor, its leadership, etc. It will have massive impacts on how characters interact with one another and how they perceive themselves. It will help Shape your characters.
If you do this legwork to begin with for the core facets of your story, you will find very natural places for these concepts to be demonstrated without derailing the plot and with little to no exposition. THAT sort of thing is what's being asked of you.
#Extremely comprehensive worldbuilding about every facet of a society is ultimately just for fun. It's not necessary for good writing.#But if you're doing any form of speculative fiction you need to at least do the legwork for the things that drive the plot/characters#Your story won't work as well if you don't#Like if the central storyline in a spec fiction setting is a gay story arc I don't expect you to have the fucking salt economy#meticulously fleshed out to justify where and how your character got the salt offhandedly mentioned in a meal.#I DO expect you to have given more than superficial thought about gender norms.#(also for the gender norms example this Does Not just go for societies with a patriarchy or other gendered hegemony lol)

"If the Hargreeves had phones every season would end in two episodes!" Babe if there were cell phones in the Umbrella Academy it would be so much worse. Not a single person in that house is capable of conveying information in a coherent manner. Diego has them all blocked. Viktor only listens to his voicemail in bulk once a month. Five developed his own shorthand during the apocalypse that he truly thinks is coherent to other human beings (it is not). Luther, by nature of who he is, absolutely Does Not Text for any reason and keeps calling the others. Klaus is carrying at least four conversations in the same thread at any given point in time. Even if they all managed to remember that they owned phones (unlikely) and then proceeded to convey relevant information in a timely fashion (even less likely), not a single one of them would figure it out. Allison could probably muster the braincells necessary but would not under any circumstances manage to stay on task long enough to do anything about it. Phones would absolutely not help with anything at all.
#cell phones would add at least two possibly six side quests to any given plot line#someone has to convince five not to just smash his phone with a hammer at least twice a week#the umbrella academy#diego hargreeves#viktor hargreeves#five hargreeves#luther hargreeves

hi your amnesiac au has me in SHAMBLES plsplspls im crying sobbing stabbing the floor
im so glad i discovered your blog 😭 your art is so lovely and nice and just. Yes. eats everythibg snd leaves no crumbs /silly
PLEASE i require more info about amnesiac au.
could this happen to the other Beasts? if it can happen to Shadow Milk, it might be possible with the others, should their Ancient counterparts get lucky with their attacks
does Shadow Milk gradually become less of an ass? does he seek answers as to Why he was so awful? does he care at all?
how horrified is he at the revelation that he was such a huge issue for the faeries + PV, if at all? he already doesn't know much about himself, so would not knowing he was such a problem, such an awful person, terrify him, considering he doesn't remember any of this?
idk. i personally would be so so incredibly horrified and terrified that i was so terrible and..well, monstrous, if i may. i kinda project onto Shadow Milk im ngl so that's probably why im saying any of this
IM SORRY THIS IS SO LONG im just so,,, AAAUAGTHYBHLRHTLBFLTTKG /POS abt this entire au. hoenstly it inspires me; both your art and your ideas and concepts
hope you have a good day!! stay safe /gen
SOBS IM SO GLAD YOU LIKE THIS AU!!! i read all the tags on my posts btw so if any of u went crazy in there i saw it and went crazy w u. im deranged and mentally ill if u cant tell.
i would say the cracking of the souljam and loss of power is very possible for the other beasts! the amnesia however is a Very special case of pure vanilla fucking up the spell he cast
the other beasts would be depowered and much weaker, but retain their memories...... actually, would their corruption break as well since the souljam disconnected entirely from them? hm, i think redemption would be more possible if an ancient got a lucky shot, in that case
shadow milk does in fact become less of a jerk! what with no longer being secluded in a spire losing his mind and sense of identity all by himself, his personality is forced to become. eh. LESS THORNY.
pure vanilla is socializing him like a dog and he is NOT enjoying it. but i am. put that guy in situations.
shadow milk does in fact seek answers to why he did so many terrible things! he knows his... current personality isn't the greatest, but he can't imagine doing some of the things described
he feels a certain disconnect to the him others describe terrorizing them to the him of present, while he feels bad for what happened to them he doesn't really feel apologetic because was it really him? how's he supposed to know?
should he feel sorry because it technically was him, just.. evil? would that excuse it if he doesn't feel sorry at all?
this is where shadow milk and white lily have similar dilemmas because they both have previously done terrible things to others, especially pure vanilla. they feel bad about it, they dont wanna hurt him or others like that ever again
but then this is where they separate because shadow milk doesn't feel at fault, he doesn't remember doing all those things, he doesn't even know who that was! you want me to grovel forever about it? pathetic, what's done is done anyways, why not try to do something now?
white lily absolutely despises that mindset as she's competing with pv over who can hate themselves more, and she is winning. she thinks they both deserve to repent forever for their crimes but is constantly reminded of the fact that she remembers but shadow milk doesn't! she knows what she did, why she did it, it was bad and terrible, but she understands and that's what's important and she must repent for it
shadow milk doesn't know, he doesn't know anything at all and theres even more that they can't tell him as he's apparently been evil for centuries. it's hard to argue that he needs to feel bad when the personalities are truly separated.
......i went on a ramble again.
he doesn't feel bad about what he did but he is in fact, very unnerved that he may be capable of those actions again, and with pure vanilla trying to teach him to be good and kind its...... panic inducing sometimes, that maybe he can do something terrible again, that the evil is possibly just lurking under the surface and hes fooling himself and everyone around him
#milkyflock#amnesiac au#shadow milk cookie#im not tagging all the cookies mentioned thats too much dear lord#i went offfff oh im so crazy guys u dont get ut#im so inactive artwise but i swear im thinking hard abt this au at any given moment#words are also difficult. and im scared of people. and i forget.#oh no#okay anyone in my tags reading this gets to know my super secret answer to milkyflocks q in the tags of another post#PURE VANILLAS MOTIVATIONS HEH#he helped smilk out of guilt ofc. he attacked him and as the jesus cookie he must make up for it with his savior complex#but in a little thing i wrote hehe...... theres something under the surface of that want to help#to see smilk so vulnerable. eyes so clear of his usual mischief and plotting and Distance...#wasnt that fount of knowledge so much like him? wasnt the holder of knowledge just like him before everything?#he wanted to know shadow milk so badly...#is it so wrong to keep him?#ask

sonic prime would be really good if it wasn’t written for younger kids. i love nine and think his arc has a lot of potential that could be tapped into with a longer, grittier version of the story. i also think sonic having to deal with the moral/ethical dilemma of saving the versions of his friends in the shatterverse versus his “real” friends, from the original version of green hill, is really fascinating. it’s very severance and i think it would be a really cool thing to lean into to accentuate the angst inherent to the whole multiverses-where-everything-is-different thing
#sonic prime#sonic the hedgehog#i do think shadow is pretty great in this series. he’s appropriately fed up with sonic#and calls him out on his bs#i really love nine but his villain arc is a little lacking#something something actual plot lines having merit but just aren’t given space to breathe bc they’re for kids#hey sonic fandom is there a series meant more for adults/teenagers?#asking as a transformers fan who’s used to having varying levels of maturity and depth in all of the continuities#i’m also writing this while high so srry for any mistakes LOL

The Medarda arc of s2 struggled to be good, because the plot viciously smothered it. You can argue that Arcane was never about politics but you cannot say the Medardas were never explicitly a family defined by politics. So when the show shifted it's priorities from a drama steeped in political conflict where even though the setting was fantastical the stakes were grounded to a shift where magic is the end all be all threat to humanity, the Medardas are rendered largely irrelevant.
In s2 Mel's agency over her own story is both largely stripped from her and poorly communicated. Arcane has Mel abducted from the plot to be the Black Rose's captive. Even when Mel manages to free herself it's not through the traits the audience understands are her strengths, her cunning and social intelligence, it's through an innate instinct that natural to her and indecipherable to the audience.
Ambessa as a character is more or less a villain of convenience, which would be fine if she wasn't immediately following Silco's act. Once Mel is removed from the story Ambessa is largely disconnected from any emotional tension fuels conflict between the characters and previously drove the plot in s1. She's there to play the worse bad guy for Caitlyn and then give Viktor the man power for the Glorious Evolution.
It's frustrating to see the Medardas used the way they are in s2 because when they're together I can see how it could be good. When they're together Mel forces emotion out of Ambessa. In Act 1, Ambessa proved she could do circles around Piltover's court, which could actually put Mel in a tight spot.
Their final scene on paper sounds like a good idea where the true resolution to Mel and Ambessa's story was that Ambessa saw Mel's own ruthless behavior as she not only betrayed Ambessa to the Black Rose, but used her as BAIT to double cross LeBlanc. Ambessa died proud that her daughter killed her the way she did, and that's so cool and tragic, but the execution was a flop.
One, their final fight is completely unimportant to the actual Glorious Evolution, Mel's grief can't even be a highlight because it's interrupted by Viktor's mind trap. Two, their fight didn't rely on any of Mel's actual strengths, just magic and the poorly explained MacGuffin LeBlanc gave her. How did Mel even know it would do that?
It's like the writers had the bones for a great story for the Medardas, but then they're like the world's worst archeologists and fit those bones together in the worst way possible because they were convinced the bones made a stegasaurus instead of a T-rex or something.
#the black rose also doesn't really do anything except kidnap Mel#they know there's an end of the world level problem but they just sit on it for no real reason#arcane critical#mel medarda#ambessa medarda#s2's priorities are mostly incompatible with the kind of characters the medardas were set up as in s1#and frankly didn't want to engage with what made them special#personally i think it's connected to how the showrunners were suprised at Silco's popularity bcuz the stuff that makes silco interesting#is the same stuff that makes mel and ambessa interesting#which is what makes it worse bcuz the blueprint was there for the medardas to shine in s2#but the plot literally ran away from them so they're both largely devices in other people's stories mel less so#you could edit mel out of the last episode and nothing would change in the end#that's how irrelevant she was to the story#actually you could do that to ambessa too they're just there to pad out the numbers to include noxian soldiers#why did mel need to be stuck in the occulorum for the black rose arc to function#they could have easily had more agents in piltover like they did with amara#and they try to ingratiate themselves with her as ambessa further alienates her o#position of power in piltover and mel doesn’t know who to trust except herself and accepts that her methods were always#as ruthless as her mother's wothout any direct bloodshed#or something like that I'm just spitballing#did anyone else notice mel and ambessa didn’t get a songle song durong the show#no blood sweat and tears doesn’t count bcuz it wasn't in the actual show#compare Ambessa's death to Silco's or even Cassandra's who had more weight and time given to it?#it's just above Heimerdinger's own “death”#that's how relevant the Medardas are to this story they're heimerdinger level

me staring into the distance:
so the evanuris/blight situation is that: solas managed to, at the height of his power + with all his ancient elf besties helping, seal them into the black city and make the veil. and this took so much out of him that he was basically comatose for 5000 years. ok fine.
but then in vg, his initial plan was to put them in a different jail, while the veil is still up (despite that weakening all magic significantly and making it difficult to even access the black city). and then he wants to tear down the veil afterwards, presumably expecting to still be awake to do so. despite not having his original orb or his ancient elf besties anymore? so it doesn't particularly make sense in general. similar to how he described what he wanted to do with the orb, you'd expect him to take out the veil first and then reseal/move the jail?
(and then he wanted to put them into a Regret Prison when he is the ONLY one out of that entire situation who feels any regrets... 😭)
then his more ambiguous-sounding veil removal motives of being depressed about elves/spirits and unable to see the modern world as worthy of existence... become almost irrelevant. bc it's kind of necessary for him to Do Something? or else everyone fully dies of turbo blight when the archdemons die and the black city inevitably opens?
but then no one really mentions the looming catastrophe of the blight part, and they handwave it at the end, and all act like he's being very unreasonable. which he is! but only bc they made him dumber than a rock and weirdly inconsistent in his capabilities, not bc his motivations were actually proven to be wrong. aaaaa.
#veilguard critical#txt#i'm going to be honest. the regret prison was like#SO goofy as a concept imo#like yeah ofc it'll trap solas dreadwolf. guy who regrets every action ever taken in his entire life starting from day 1#the well known sunk cost fallacy king#why would it trap... a bunch of self absorbed dictators...#elgar'nan peacefully: ''i've thought about it and i'm great actually. never did anything wrong 😌'' and leaves#''ahhh it's about PROCESSING regret-!'' well unfortunately that's still very unconvincing#rook had a small handful of regrets and just walked out no problem#presumably the evanuris have even fewer and milder regrets?#elgar'nan like ''hm. i regret not killing my wife sooner! ok i've processed it. time to leave 😌''#ghilan'nain like ''i regret not making my ultimate creation: three crocodiles a halla and an elf mashed together. would've been fun''#????#like putting a rat in a box made of cheese...#it would make way more sense if the evanuris made it in the black city as a way to trap solas while they were in their time out tbh#vg's whole plot is just like#a series of ''don't worry about it kitten'' missing threads#and it does seem like they never fully decided on whether they wanted his plan to be ''necessary'' or not#so they flip flopped between making it sound like a guilt-fueled nostalgia thing that he should be talked out of or stopped#versus a genuine trolley problem that is just Too Unspeakably Dire to reveal#and then decided there could not be any moral complexity so trolley problems are as bad as the worst version of the plan. fhsjfbh#personally the regret prison is my stupid google doc bc i unfortunately need to consider this for solas' internal narration 😔#at any given time i am the pepe silvia diagram meme...

something bad did indeed happen to that man. spent abt 25 minutes trying to find a better picture of that one (1) offical piece with his eyes open that wasnt compressed or tiny
#library of ruina#yan library of ruina#getting comfortable doodling some objects and mannequin shapes for very obvious reasons. i read the keypage story and now it has a grip on#my brain. wanting to go ahead and plan it out and then draw the mangled memory and nightmare that replays behind the eyelids in the darknes#it was cool to see the reason confirmed from my speculation. twas indeed another reason of blocking out present pain with closing of eyes#considering they made angela have a plot important reason for doing so it would only make sense for another to have a reason for it as well#well. after having a prominent part inside the thumb/index story line. its just going to be yapping about yan now i think#let me add a spoiler tag i suppose? vauge but just incase i dont want to be an asshole. even if most already have played rhe game#library of ruina spoilers#lor spoilers#i really liked the typewritter effect over the voice after distortion. especially so when the effect finishes before the actual garbled voi#does. it makes it feel as if it were being read out after it being written down rather than of own words or volition. along with the text#upon the screen during the fight being just prescripts rather than anything relating to the man himself like the other instances with such#text had been. paired w the name of distorted yan being untranslated to keep the intent of the name being unreadable or not understandable#more into the idea of stripping away of the self or any sense of a self. not personal and not even him anymore. the following of a goal for#the goal for it is given and there isnt any hope of having the ability to not do such a thing. people yearn for a reason and something to d#and for it to be given to them to not hold responsibility nor have to do their own choices anymore. once a crushing weight weighs down#inside the face of an absolute cruelty that is perpetuated and that crushed the dreams or even desires having them be but nothing how can#one move on? it was really nice to see at the end of the fight. its easier to just say such things than to actually do them. even if the ac#ions dont even feel as if they are ones own or that there isnt any say in the matter having to endure all the pain for seemingly nothing it#still is pain. that feeling inside is still real. it still happened. regardless of the circumstances that brought them about#the thumb/index or just fingers seem to be an exaggerated to the extreme showcase of how the colletivist mindset in an unhealthy manner#could be exhibited. the thumb with its hierarchy and absoluteness and the demand for respect along with its strict layers of showing who is#below and who is above. the ability to have power over those underneath . the participation inside of it and the already brought up yearnin#to be apart of a group and to have a title and position inside of a group and of power and even a desire like from pete to join one iirc#the index being of the cruel perpetuating cycle of pain people inflict upon one another a behavior beaten and upkept by the systems as they#drift and desire to live. which causes them to partcipate in that cycle out of necessity. cruel acts upon another in order to live and seei#a need to go ahead and do such things for if they dont they die and another will just do the same to them. social sciences talk and rolands#talks abt how the city opperates reinforce that fact. the index and prescripts are really just a show inside that extreme manner and in a#more literal sense of that. it was really cool to read it..

the fact that alvar hating sophitz while there’s little to no conceivable way he could know about sophitz having happened at all is one of kotlc’s lesser plot holes is astounding to me
#seriously guys let me walk you through this one#okay. so. fitz developed a crush on sophie in neverseen. he was never alone with alvar in neverseen#as we well know since alvar bunked with keefe. so there’s no way fitz told him then#in lodestar fitz would literally flay himself alive before telling alvar he had a crush on sophie. nightfall as well#flashback is canon sophitz era and i seriously can’t imagine alvar picked up on anything happening between sophie and fitz#he saw them together like twice and was kinda focused on more important things both times. so like. yeah#legacy he was entirely out of the picture and never saw them together at all#in unraveled keefe doesn't tell him anything. he just magically knows somehow. but how? there's no way he could#shannon's so desperate to tear sophitz to shreds that she's given up making any cohesive sense and she's opening up plot holes#there’s a TINY bit of wiggle room which is why i said “little to no” but it’s pretty insignificant#kotlc alvar#alvar vacker#kotlc

playing dragon age veilguard is going to be SO fucking funny because me, the person, the player, the real life human being HATES solas but my "canon" inquisitor considered him a confidant and friend and sometimes even a mentor figure. so while my inquisitor is like "maybe i can still convince him... maybe it doesn't need to end in bloodshed" i'm hovering behind him like

#personal#dragon age#at any given point i'm ready to be a hater!!! TEN YEARS OF TRAINING HAVE LED TO THIS MOMENT#my inquisitor: solas please this isn't the way..... don't forsake this world for a dream 🥺#meanwhile in the bg me 🤝 rook: zero emotional investment in solas and 100% willing to take him down#I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH: IF THEY FORCE ME INTO A RECONCILIATION/REDEMPTION PLOT WITH NO OTHER OPTION#I'M GOING TO START BITING ANKLES

I am way too tired/jetlagged to make this post right now, but the reason Armada Starscream is so specifically well done to me actually isn't just the way he's got more depth than just wanting to take over Megatron. It's the way he falls back on this image he has of himself as someone who is solely focused on Megatron. And he is obsessed with Megatron, but the disconnect between Starscream and his image of himself is what gives him actual depth.
The reason this is so cool to me is like, that self-image--that he is single-mindedly obsessed with Megatron and will sacrifice everything else for that goal, no matter who gets hurt--is pretty close to what every other Starscream is. (The selfishness you associate with Starscream is a little more subtle, but it's there in the "no matter who gets hurt" clause imo.)
So if you go into this as a Transformers fan, you're already expecting Starscream to betray Megatron and try to best him and rule the Decepticons. But so does Starscream, even when he's demonstrably proven to both his peers and the audience that he's more than that. It's almost like his past incarnations--or the audience's expectation of him--haunt him. It turns his own internal man-versus-self conflict into this really cool man-versus-narrative conflict.
And what's crazy about this is, through the last moments of this arc, Starscream does grow beyond the narrative we'd expect from other Starscreams! But he never admits that to himself, because it's easier for him to cling to the idea that he's laser-focused on his hatred of Megatron. Every time he helps the minicons--every time he helps the humans--even in his last words, he LIES to himself and everyone around him that everything he did was always about Megatron. Because it's easier to simplify himself than to grasp that he might be a complex character. Because he's a person and he has all the messy conflicts that come with that. He falls back on the same ideas every single other Starscream did, and THAT is his undoing. Not that he is self-centered because he's Starscream. Not that he is obsessed with Megatron because he's Starscream. That he THINKS he is all of those things and he will not LET himself be anything else.
I would argue that that's a bigger theme in Armada, as well. Optimus and Megatron more or less spend their final fight coming to terms with their story roles in Transformers. I really feel like if you sneezed on them, they would realize they do this in every universe and in every timeline. Starscream's is the most interesting example to me, though, because he's such a departure from other versions of Starscream; hell, he acts (and looks, lol) a lot more like some incarnations of Thundercracker. But he's still got classic Starscream in him in this roundabout meta reference. He's like an homage to his namesake. It's so cool! And it works perfectly with the story he's a part of.
#transformers armada#armada starscream#so. this part goes in the tags but. if you know me or recognize my url you may be going ''half life fan take''#especially given that this is by far my favorite starscream that i have ever seen#I am beating zero half life/valve gaming allegations with this one#but imo this is a reminder to me that like. the best meta media is always the kind that doesnt shout it out#i mean. generally the more you have to handhold your audience on what the media is about. the more it is bad#unless it's specifically really dialectal media aimed at young children and the directness is like. The Point#(wild robot being a good example of very obvious media meant for kids that is still clearly like. fantastic)#but in general i think meta media (metagames and the like) kinda lose their impact when you have to explain them#people forget that half life doesn't really hold your hand about this#because valve games are so entrenched in internet culture#it goes beyond ''the one free man'' as an icon - the game is about the horror of being a video game player character#and especially of being a silent protagonist#gordon's helplessness in the plot and the way he's ''the one free man'' but not free is a commentary on how games funnel you through their#stories while acting like the player character has any agency#gman's ability to teleport players around various environments and even to/from stasis is similar to how gamedevs load/unload characters#and teleport them around cutscenes and environments when the player cant see them#he gives them just enough freedom to feel natural while keeping tight control over their purpose in the story he is telling. like an author#SIMILARLY. this is why you can't do myhouse.wad again#part of the horror of myhouse.wad is the familiarity of it and the subtle offputting changes from standard doom mapping FOR DOOM PLAYERS#even down to how it was released#it isnt just a silly meta internet horror game everything about it was purpose-built to send goosebumps specifically to doom modders and#classic doom enthusiasts#ANYWAYS. ARMADA IS LIKE THIS TO ME#behind all the anime nonsense and the like 20 filler episodes in the start there's a genuinely clever commentary on like#transformers as a franchise and as a story that keeps getting retold#THERE'S MORE TO IT THAN THAT BUT YOU GET MY POINT.

How do you feel after predicting that Splinter dies pretty much right after the movie/j (sure not in the same way but tomato hamato amiright)
The comics mean nothing to me sksksk
#i didn't really predict anything anyway srhsjhdbssjs#splinter died in residuum becuase he was gettingin the way. him staying alive would have drastically changed how the story went#and attempting to keep the story how it is with him alive would have given Massive plot holes#so. he died in residuum for plot reasons#but the anniversary comic mostly killed him for angst and exposition reasons#but i dont really consider any of the rise comics as canon anyway *shrug*#(im also a massive hater at heart so feel free to just ignore me lmao)

actually, that new totk masterworks thing has the potential to direct my hatred somewhat away from the game and to itself instead
i have seen some early translations and while im not putting my faith into those so far like ... how can you make totk even worse, just stop!! stop! say its an AU and leave it!! its better for everyone!!
and it seems like its trying to tape botw and totk together with retcons and conflicting info, man just leave it beeeeeeeee
(like .. aside from the very concerning timeline mess they are messing with AGAIN, the thing about totk ganondorf actually being calamity gan all of the sudden??? what?? nothign in the game suggest that they are coneccted bc the damn game acts like botw didnt happen, it does everything it can to NOT connect ganondorf to clam gan and didnt they also say in an interview that they arent related?? and now its just the other way around again?? like that is making it all WORSE!!)
#ganondoodles talks#zelda#ganondoodles rants#i know i shouldnt just react to everything i see but like!!!!#i cant believe they are trying to “fix” it in post and with that making it all worse#as is the games a stupidly nonsensical frustrating mess#but this is just#worse#like its also shitty bc then the game tried to not connect to botw so hard and yet is still hit with the duct tape afterwards#AND it means it WAS supposed to connect but they didnt even fuckign try to do anything with it#which i dont believe honestly#again i still hold onto the idea that totk was written by someone who has no idea of any of the games or its lore#and was jsut given the basic ideas and what needs to happen in game and kinda left to it#its so genericly boring like the plot of an idle mobile game thing#man i almost feel sorry for the game now#just leave it a mediocre game and move on#stop trying to “fix” it in post be it via interviews or via someone desperately trying to invent and retcon their way out of its problems

Shoutout to Rebecca Colton from Amanda The Adventurer for being a murder victim in a mascot horror game that’s actually a character with a personality, thoughts and feelings.
#Look I love FNaF just as much as the next guy#But you cannot convince me that the kids are anything other than a plot device.#Hell even Charlie and Cassidy are ultimately just there to move the plot along#And outside of their defining character traits of “kind” and “vengeful” they don’t have much going for them.#I love FNaF but any FNaF fan will tell you with full honesty that we don’t like FNaF because it’s good. We like it because it’s bad.#Meanwhile Amanda The Adventurer is something you can proudly show your friends when talking about fun video games.#The main draw of FNaF is that Scott Cawthon was just making shit up as he went along and the lore looks like spaghetti.#FNaF lore is like a game of Uno. The rules are whatever you can convince everyone else of.#Amanda The Adventurer is actually a good game though and the story clearly had a lot of thought put into it.#That’s why Rebecca was given so much focus.
