Something I wonder about Simon and Betty's relationship is how long they were together before the whole crown ordeal. But they were engaged, you say. My aunt (in)famously met my uncle and had a ring on her finger in 8 weeks. We've seen that both Betty and Simon were both weird outcasts, crazy determined and a pinch insane. I would not be surprised if they decided they'd met their one true love and got engaged super quick.
My point being, Betty's shifting to revolve around Simon and Simon's rose colored glasses of their relationship feels very much like New Love. They're people who love each other and love being a couple but still haven't quite figured out how to coexist together, as two people in a partnership. I feel like if they'd known each other longer, lived together longer, some of the issues we're seeing would have probably self resolved.
I don't think their relationship is toxic nor is it totally perfect. It's two lonely, most likely neurodivergent people in a relatively early relationship still figuring out how it works. Everything that happened afterwards: the crown, the seperation, the time travel, the magic/madness/sadness just exemplified issues they had both as individuals and as a couple.

Found out that lovelorn means unhappy bc of unrequited love which makes”slut!” Sad bc to the other person it’s just sex but to her it’s love and she’s okay with people calling her a slut because to her it’s worth it because she loves them. Also even sadder because she says, “I’ll pay the price you won’t” because guy can sleep with whoever and however many people they want without any consequences. Yet women especially Taylor get slut shamed for even dating a few guys. But I love that on the surface it sounds like a dreamy love song because she’s in love but the lyrics are sad because as the song progresses she realizes the reality.

Only Friends Episode 7 & preview for Episode 8
Wow, this was an interesting episode. And the preview... I have some thoughts....
Mew and Ray getting together specifically right now is one of the absolutely worst ideas either of them has had, which is impressive given some of the other things they have done in this show (though I would say Ray driving while intoxicated probably takes the cake because he is endangering not just himself, but other people).
Starting with that fact that Mew is stilling hurting over his relationship with Top. He is attempting to get over him, which makes Ray technically a rebound. And of all the things that have hurt Ray in this show, this will probably be one of the worst. He has been in love with him for years and is finally told maybe they can be together, making him very happy. But when Mew realizes that being with Ray doesn't making healing any easier and/or that he still isn't in love with Ray, he might decide to stop seeing Ray in a romantic context, which is going to do wonders for Ray's mental state (insert sarcasm here). Ray will feel he is being told, once again, that he is not enough, this time meaning not good enough to be loved by Mew.
I feel like Mew should have known better, but Mew is only really thinking about his own hurt right now, and thinks maybe Ray or being with Ray can make him feel better.
Second, Mew and Ray are seen partying in the previews, which with Ray's alcohol issues, isn't a great idea. Mew is allowed to grieve his relationship by partying and drinking, but doing it with Ray who he has to know is an alcoholic is not good. It seems like in the preview that it was Ray bringing Mew to these events, and people thinking Ray is a bad influence. All Ray knows is drinking, so maybe he thinks this is best he can do to help. Ray knows that Mew is upset and trying to get over Top, so he goes along with it because he wants Mew to feel better and either thinks this is a good way or its what Mew wants and Ray doesn't want to get in his way (he wants him to like him back and stopping Mew from doing something might seem like the surest way (to him) to make Mew get upset at him). Mew doesn't seem like much of a partier and combined with his heartbreak, will likely have very little sense of moderation. The problem is both of them need someone around them that will go, "That's enough. It's time to go home now" and neither of them are able to be that person for each other.
Mew has never truly understood Ray's relationship with alcohol, and part of why he drinks. I don't think he knows about Ray's mother cause I remember Ray saying he hasn't really told anybody. That is part of what drives Ray's drinking but the other part is his feelings of being a burden and worthless and his friends have never really made him feel like he isn't. Mew is one of those friends, and while I think he is a much better friend to Ray than the rest of the group, he isn't great. Mew has told Ray a couple times to stop drinking, but that was never going to be enough, and now that Mew is willing to drink and party, he will not be trying to keep Ray from overdoing it (and Mew never seemed to do that much to stop Ray from overdoing it from the beginning). To contrast, Sand knows about Ray's mother. He comes from outside the friend group and understands to an extent how self-deprecating Ray is. And while Sand lets Ray drink with him, he is far more aware about how bad Ray's relationship to it is than Mew. Sand points out to Ray himself that he is addicted to alcohol and Ray brushes it off, saying he isn't. Ray doesn't understand how bad his drinking is because its a crutch for him, so telling him to stop because its bad for him will have no effect. Sand instead tries to always stick around, maybe thinking that at least he can monitor Ray.
Mew and Ray both have their own spirals going on, which means this attempt at a relationship will be a trainwreck for both of them and could ruin their friendship.
Or maybe Mew will fall in love with him, as I don't know what happens. But is it likely? I think not.

Watching Tee during that video chat like hmmm girl what has you distracted? You're barely looking at the screen. It couldn't be that you're messaging Yuki is it?? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

y'know, i think it's kind of funny how i started to go by lucifer
i didn't really care abt names but everyone i talk to called me lucifer so it just grew on me lol i didn't even know i gave people lucifer vibes
That’s how it goes sometimes lol! People just bestow new names upon us & and that’s what you get from then on!
When I first made this blog I didn’t have a name listed, but then I was like well I want people to use my name so I should probably put it in my bio or something lol.
I know that I tend to get vibes from pfps so to me you give Lucifer vibes from that alone. I can’t help but imagine people as their pfp which is really funny when it’s a character from something and not an image of themselves.
Lucifer is a fun name because obviously you can use it for shenanigans. I’m just imagining someone being like “Hey Lucifer how’s it going?” And you’re just like “Good, how are you?” Or some such normal small talk. And everyone nearby is just ????? Lucifer???
Plus you can shorten it to Luci which is really cute imo ☺️

I know that Heaven In Your Eyes is most likely meant to be about a loved one dying, but I can't help noticing how well it fits the ending of good omens season 2.
Aziraphale is basically leaving Crowley for heaven, so the song could very well be Crowley's PoV during that scene.
Just give me one last kiss, I need eternal bliss
Crowley initiates a last, desperate kiss before essentially their breakup, because all he wants is a peaceful happily ever after with his angel
Before them angels take you up to the sky
Them angels is specifically the Metatron, but Crowley doesn't really differentiate between that guy and the rest of heaven (which makes sense since he hasn't had good experiences with other angels, except for Muriel and obviously Azi, either). The imagery works as well, the Metatron literally takes Azi up to heaven in an elevator.
That's just the first half of the chorus but I think you get the idea. Idk, in my head it works :)

I’ve been lurking in the tags and have seen some annoyed that rcg tend to go on tangents/ stories not at all related to the show and that’s fine like no judgement I get it. You listen to the podcast for info about the show, makes sense.
But, I genuinely enjoy the tangents? Like a lot. I dare say they’re my favorite part of the podcast.
Because then you get moments like, “do you peel the egg before you boil it?” or visualizing a dog pooping or Robs deadpan delivery of “Stephen Segal” when asked who would play him in a biopic that for whatever reason makes me giggle or the Tesla story (which they acknowledge early on is a privilege, which they also do a lot and that’s refreshing)

I actually don’t think Taylor is going to announce 1989 TV tonight, but I love all the attention that the speculation is giving to my most favorite album of all time.

on kodansha's website, blue lock is labeled as "sports" and "thriller" and i can totally see why. i have not read a manga in a long time that has sent adrenaline and energy running through me like blue lock does. it's so intense, like a machine bulldozing a path forward at full throttle. it can be exhausting even just reading the story - and the art is incredibly capable of delivering the break-neck speed, tension, thrill, and suspense of the action despite being still on a page. it's amazing even if you can't keep up with the plot or feel like plot armor puts some twists into the story.
blue lock takes my breath away. it reminds me of when i watched prince of tennis back in the day - the constant evolution of all these characters, each with their own unique backstory, weapon, and drive to succeed. it's what other sports anime/manga have been lacking for me, that intensity and incredible power of every character - and i am eating it up. i cannot wait for the next volume to come out. i was waiting for a soccer manga to sweep me off my feet and i can feel it - this is the one.
