Dude I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but ur one Dogman comic where Lil’ Petey accidentally pulls out Dogman’s stitches is having an IMPACT on tiktok. I’ve seen so many TikToks talking about how angsty the Dogman fandom is and all of them are specifically using that comic as their example 😭

Yeah… funny thing is it was made solely to get back at my two friends who ironically kept sending dogman angst my way and revenge was sweet and calculated but boy am I bad at math xD it’s been funny to sit in the sidelines witnessing it tho :’>

Annabeth, and others, often treat Percy as if he’s ridiculous or obtuse for his reactions to the demigod world, when in reality he’s a (relatively) well adjusted kid who was raised by a loving parent. His actions make sense based on his upbringing

- parents arent supposed to be neglectful

- parents are supposed to be easily attainable, loving, and present in a child’s life

- if you’re in trouble, you should call for help, there isn’t shame in admitting you’re in over your head, you’re twelve

- you shouldn’t have to jump through life endangering hoops to get your parent’s attention

Annabeth acts like he’s ridiculous, but he’s right. Annabeth knows how the Greek world works, but Percy knows how the real world is supposed to work. & rightfully calls out the BS. But it’s hard for most demigods to agree because what kid wants to admit the way their parents treat them is awful? That their actions are those of aloof, negligent, even narcisstic people who are unwilling or incapable of giving the proper love and support a child needs. That even if their godly parent does love them, it’s a pathetic, horrible, attempt at love you’re better off without.

wayfarer exchange treat - damsa drende

written for @wayfarer-exchange first treat of the season goes to damsa drende, played by @kemsyne! ty for the wonderful wayfarer kem!

Damsa remembers the flowers in the gardens of her family’s estate. They were lovely, bright, almost magical. A cousin liked braiding them into her hair. Damsa wanted to wear one herself but was warned hers wouldn’t be as bright because her magianis status - the family’s little secret - would strip them of their sheen. 

It made her angry. She looked at those flowers with envy and she made that envy known. Eventually, they gave her those flowers, cut them before her very eyes, and when they touched Damsa’s unruly curls, the flowers lost their shine almost immediately. 

She didn’t cry then. It was unbecoming, in front of all those people. But she never looked at those flowers with anything but hostility. They were a reminder that she wasn’t like her family, as much as they loved her. What shined on them did not shine on her. 

So when she takes one look at the serithans decades later, she knows what she must choose. She will never again have a visible wall between her and the highborn around her. She doesn’t need the flowers to shine.

Feel free to refine this, I'm working on EXTREMELY rusty memory of ASL. (Like it's almost a decade and a half since my time in college learning the introduction to it.)

Just wanted to demo a gloss of someone relating the gist of a certain scene in SaSi to someone - with focus on the spatial encoding aspect of things (since ASL doesn't really do [gendered] pronouns unless it's absolutely necessary to convey - you just point at and/or direct character actions around reference points in space).

I was thinking about how her old depressing post-breakup playlist no longer fits and I put together a new one!!

I'm actually so proud of some of my choices for this and I might write up a big list of what some of the song choices mean for her :D don't worry, there's no ominous foreshadowing here!
