Which muse has the most interesting backstory?

((Oh, this is actually a hard one!

In terms of how fleshed out my muses are, that would be Tim, Daan, and Ruben. However, the most interesting one makes Jaitze come into play, as well as Floris, purely because of their history and how their people do not feel Dutch at all.

In fact, think of Friesland as the Bavaria or the Catalonia of The Netherlands. They came from the Frisii and not the Franks or the Saxonians for example, and have an unhealthy hatred towards anything Hollands, so much so that they pretend their own capital city is not Frisian because they became 'too Hollands'.

And Limburg got taken over and overthrown by so many neighbouring countries, they started having the sentiment of "Whatever, we're just Limburgs." Even after the province was made [with the split between Belgian Limburg and Dutch Limburg], Prussia literally stole the Dutch part for a 20-odd years period.

But also Liesje, she used to be a strong pirate captain back in the days with an all-women's crew, wild and violent, but took a 180 and became a very devout Christian with bad theology.

It's very hard for me to pick one! :D ))

What’s Prussia stealing?

Netherlands: “He... he kidnapped my newly born son... Floris.”

((TLDR: In 1839, the duchy of Limburg was split into east and west, due to Belgium finally being being recognized as independent from The Netherlands. The western part became Belgian, and the eastern part became Dutch. Prussia stole the Dutch part for 27 years.))

Before the French had taken over The Netherlands, this entire region belonged to Prussia. In 1815, in the congress of Vienna, it was decided that the western part of this region would definitely become part of The United Kingdom of The Netherlands, together with an Austrian part. However, it hadn’t properly formed itself a true province just yet, having a governor for a ruler and everything. The other regions of the previous duchy were under the rule of Liège, a newly formed province now part of current day Belgium.

With the advent of the first king of The Netherlands that wasn’t a French ruler, current day Belgium became increasingly more upset and angry with their northern counterpart for various reasons, and a rebellion formed in 1830. People of the freshly formed duchy of Limburg joined them for the most part. Current day Belgium proclaimed their own king, German king Leopold, in 1831. Due to this, an army was sent up to Limburg to reclaim it for Belgium. When the French decided to help current day Belgium, a truce was made.

This whole ordeal called for the Treaty of London, wherein the definitive borders of the newly formed state of Belgium were clearly stated. Limburg and Luxembourg would be split up; in exchange for giving western Luxembourg to Belgium, eastern Limburg would belong to The Netherlands and become a new duchy, belonging also to the German Confederation.. Belgium signed the treaty, but the Dutch king refused to acknowledge their independence and hoped that Prussia and Austria would help him unite The Netherlands with Belgium again. For the upcoming years however, practically all of Limburg belonged to Belgium.

In 1838, the Dutch king finally accepted Belgium’s independence and the treaty that was signed. However, this meant that Limburg and Luxembourg would have to get split after all. In 1839, the province was split and to appease Prussia, the Dutch part of the province was taken into custody and given to the German Confederation. This lasted until 1866.))

Top 2000 funnies

((There's been made a top 10 of the provinces’ favorite top 2000 songs, and there were a few really funny noticeable things in it:

• Zeeland has two songs about the ocean and the coast in their top 10, which is hilarious because that’s practically all that Zeeland is • Zuid-Holland has both “Fix you” and “Comfortably Numb” in their top 10, which just makes him look so much more like an edgy teen • Noord-Brabant has a song called “Brabant” by their own singer at #3 • Limburg has a song in Limburgs dialect at #10

For those who haven’t read about the Top 2000, it is a democratically chosen top 2000 songs, which will be played starting from Christmas day until New Year’s Eve. It is actually quite a big thing in The Netherlands.))

Each province: Favorite and least favorite city

North Holland: “Amsterdam is both. I do like the island Texel and Haarlem too. Uhmmm… No wait! Zandvoort! I like Zandvoort because it’s the best beach you can have in the entire country~ “South Holland: “Fuck me, I dunno? I’ve got a ton of good places, better than Harm’s. I mean, there’s Gouda, Rotterdam, Lisse, Den Haag and many more. Harm only has Amsterdam to offer, which is a fucking shithole. I’ve got no bad ones, they’re all good!“Zeeland: “My favorite is Vlissingen, my least… Stavenisse…”Noord-Brabant: "I can only choose ONE??? But there are so many! Hehe I can’t choose, I wanna choose Tilburg because of the biggest funfair of the Benelux, but they also didn’t celebrate Carnaval for over a hundred years… Oh and there’s of course the Efteling!
