I apologize for irritable tone of this post, but a portion of this fandom is starting to irritate me, so let's analyze catwin through the lens of how age works for ghosts and how situational irony is used in a scene where Edwin and Niko talk about kissing.

Let's start with age. Right at the beginning, when Emma asks Charles and Edwin to take her case, she tries to play it off as her being just a little girl. This is what Edwin replies:

And before anyone jumps the gun and says: "He said SUPERNATURALLY speaking! He is still physically 16!"

Okay. Let's unpack that. Considering how for people who are immortal, which ghosts essentially are, and as such unchanging, that isn't quite a proper argument, is it? Because the way I see it, there are two ways someone could argue this. Either your gripe is about the Cat King finding Edwin attractive despite him physically being a 16 year old or your gripe is that Edwin is mentally 16 and as such, cannot consent.

If it's the first, I think that argument is quite lacking here, because we know the Cat King is aware Edwin is older than 16. And as someone who is an adult and often gets mistaken for a minor, I think the idea that you can just always tell someone's age by looking at them quite funny. Also, by that logic, I shouldn't be able to consent either, because people generally gauge my age to be between 16-18, when I am in my mid 20s.

If it's the second, your point doesn't work because being frozen at 16 would mean being unable to learn and develop firther than what you did by that age. Which we know is false for ghosts, especially Edwin. He changes and develops constantly throughout the s1, and we have a front row seat to that! Human brains aren't clear cut, and before you jump under the post to say your brain isn't fully develop until age 25, I will kindly tell you that human brains, in fact, never stop changing and developing. And that experiences, traumas, etc hugely impact developments of individuals.

One argument I can sort of is perhaps Edwin and Charles having somewhat stunted emotional growth, but as we also see throughout the season, that has more to do with them stagnanting rather than them being unable to emotionally develop. And frankly, I know bunch of adults with the same issues, so.

Now for the "But Edwin said he doesn't want to kiss the Cat King!" argument. How about we look at what Edwin says before that, huh?

He says he has never been kissed and didnt understand the appeal, until recently. And you cannot tell me it wasn't the Cat King who made him realize it. Yes, he wanted to kiss Charles and I am not saying he didn't like Monty too, but if it wasn't for the Cat King getting physically close to him and playing into his desires, he wouldn't have realized that he too, feel physical attraction!

As for him saying "Absolutely not!" When Niko asks him if he wants to kiss the Cat King, I think that's laughable argument to saying "Well, see, he didn't want him!" Because first of all, characters can lie. Edwin most certain, lies about things he wants, both to himself and others, up until pressed.

Besides, if I am not mistaken, given English isn't my first language and I learned this stuff in a different language, this is also called situational irony, aka, someone say something won't/can't happen and then it happens. This is very often seen in romance plots too. A characters says they hate someone and then they end up dating them.

Think of Lizzy Benett and Darcy

And then she goes ahead and married him later, once her opinion of him changes. It's a classic romance trope!

Similarly, Edwin says he doesn't want to kiss the Cat King and what happens at the end? Oh yeah!

He kisses the Cat King. Shocker.

But yeah just like. Y'all are free to not like the ship for whatever reason, but for the love of god, stop making up stuff that's just blantantly untrue. There is an "anti catwin" tag for a reason, if you truly cannot stop yourself from commenting, but in all honestly, you could just enjoy your own ship without putting other ppl's ships down. Cat King is not perfect by any means, but this isn't a predator type of situation. I and many others have addressed the whole "coercion" bit quite a few times so I won't get into it again, but these two arguments I have seen pop up and I just had to address it. As the leader of the Smiling Critters and your friend, he tries to resolve this in a peaceful manner. He confronts the bullies with you tagged along and attempts to make them apologize to you and wants them to compensate by cleaning the school, canteen and the garden by a whole week.

Of course, the bullies won't do it, so he goes to the teachers to address the problem.

The bullies are punished and will have cleaning duties for more than a week.

Worst case scenario (because i wanted to /j):

If the bullies resorted to violence in an attempt to scare DogDay, he fought back and defended you. You ran for help but one got out of his reach and punched you, he bit the one/s he's fighting and rushed at your aid and barked at the bully. "DON'T YOU DARE HURT MY FRIEND AGAIN!!"

The bullies got scared and ran to the clinic but DogDay barked and chased them until they were punished by the nurse and teachers.

You asked DogDay if he was okay, he grinned at you with a thumbs up, saying, "Of course I am! I will never let anyone dim you down!"

You smiled at his conviction, you were happy that you had such a sunny friend.

Bobby BearHug

After knowing you were being bullied, she immediately went to confront them. You were so scared and you didn't want her to get hurt, but she reassured you she can handle it and winked.

Reaching the bullies' spot, she confronted them. The bulkies glared at you and you cowered behind the bear's back, "So i heard you were bullying my friend? You better pay for that. You must apologize to my friend, now" She hissed, crossing her arms. The bullies simply laughed.

Bobby didnt hesitate to punch the bully on his face. His nose bled. Bobby was a sweet soul, but she's a bear, a predator, a tough cookie to crack. "DO I HAVE TO REPEAT WHAT I SAID?! APOLOGIZE TO MY FRIEND. NOW."

The bullies apologized while trembling in fear. "You can go back to whatever business you are doing now," she said in sweetly, though, there was venom to it, "Dare try to bully my friend once more and I will make sure to tear your limbs apart, skin you alive and--"

You tapped Bobby's shoulder before she went on full detail. "Whoops!" She giggled, scratching the back of her head looking at you. "Now, GO HOME." She pointed out at them, "Please!" of course, she never forgets her manners. That's not very Bobby if she didnt mind her manners, even to her enemies.

KickinChicken

Oh expect this bird to not handle things peacefully, especially with you being hurt. You were away from him, doing your own things. He went to the bullies, but of course, he can't go alone. He knows he can't handle them so he asked DogDay and Hoppy to hop along with him.

Hoppy looked like she was about to murder someone... a baseball bat was with her. DogDay and Kickin talked it out first with the bullies. But when they wouldn't budge, Hoppy stepped in and handed Kickin the bat. "NOW, WHO WANTS TO GO FIRST?" He tapped the bat to his wing. DogDay was against it, but didn't protest, Hoppy was trying not to smirk at the bullies.

The 3 critters and the bullied were headed to your way. You got startled and scared but DogDay, Kickin and Hoppy immediately went to your side. "Now, APOLOGIZE." Kickin forced a smile at them, and they apologized to you.

After that, DogDay took them in for their punishment. Hoppy taked the bat back so that she can go back playing baseball with the others. You thabked Kickin for his action and he blushed, brushing it off as "nothing". You and him sat by a tree and watched the other critters play on the field.

Hoppy Hopscotch

"Wait--Hoppy!" Yoy tried to stop Hoppy from going to the bullies. But she immediately scolded you for being a coward for not telling her this, you explained they threatened you but she didn't listen. "THOSE MFS ARE NO MATCH FOR ME," she spat on the ground.

As soon as you twto spotted the bullies, she didn't waste any time and immediately launched her fists at them. Knocking them off guard. She didnt let any of them escape her wrath. And then she grabbed your hand to run and leave them alone in the open.

CraftyCorn

Crafty was aware of it. "Why aren't you telling me this? We're friends!" She yelled at you. You explained they were going to hurt you if--"Let's go to them!" Crafty smatched your hand and went to the bullies.

Before you knew it, you were corned by the bullies. Taunting and laughing at you two. At first, fear was on ghe unicorn's face but it immediately changed to anger. "You're bullying my friend! You know you shouldn't be doing that!"

"Oh yeah? What're you gonna do about it, horse piss? Your friend's quite a coward and seems to be undeserving to be here." One of the bullies taunted her.

"YOU INSULTING MY FRIEND SHOWS HOW MUCH YOU'RE SO INSECURE ABOUT YOURSELF, IT TELLS A LOT ABOUT YOU, YKNOW?" Crafty snapped.

"COWARD. UGLY. USELESS. TRASH. GOOD FOR NOTHING. YOUR BIRTH WAS A MISTAKE." She added. Then you two turned around and left, you can tell that crafty was so angry because of her trembling hooves. The bully targeted by Crafty's words cried while his other two friends mocked him for being a crybaby.

Moments later--"Ah! I'm sorry! I didnt mamage to make them apologize to you! Sorrysorrysorry--!" Crafty apologized to you. "No, no! It's okay, Crafty! What you said was way more satisfying," in all silliness, you stuck your tongue out. Crafty giggled and she went back to pher canvas,ready to paint another new piece,"oh? Whats that called?" You asked as she sketched out what seems to be shadows looming over a figure protecting a smaller one behind it, there were separated figures at their opposite side, seemingly the figure with shadiws protecting the smaller one from attackers.

"Oh this? I call it... 'Happy Snappy!"

PickyPiggy

Picky was uneasy that day. Ever since she knew you were being bullied, she wasted no time to gather all the trash and dump it anywhere where the bullies would have been to. "HEHEHEHEHE..." The bullies ended up getting scolded by the teachers for dumping 'their' trash around. Pickypiggy snickered behind a tree, watching them from afar. She was quite fast and undetectable.

The bullies bags' had trash in them, their armchairs full of waste.

Then she tricked them into meeting up in a corner, she had full trash cans up on the roof, Hoppy and Kickin assisting her. Then they dumped the pile at them. You took the chance to run and report it to the teachers.

The trio fist bumped in victory and Picky was grateful for their help. She went back to you as you told her the weird thing that happened to the bullies--while eating cookies together.

Bubba Bubbaphant

The smart guy of the group. He was devastated at the fact that you didnt told him anything about your situation. He confronted them in full glasses nerd mode on, you came up to him and told him not to challenge them any further. He ended up getting beaten up by the bullies, he wasnt able to fight. Good thing DogDay was patrolling the area nearbt you.

Bubba was sent to a clinic, but he talked to DogDay first for a special request.

The next day, "man, this room sucks." One of the bullies complained. "What are we doing here anyway?" One of them groaned. They were in detention for two weeks, "How are we supposed to go to our classes now?"

Just in time, Bubba walked inside the room, "Okay class, I'll be your teacher for the next two weeks." He sneered at them. The bullies groaned at him as he wrote down a hell of math on the board. "This is your punishment for bullying a friend of mine, bear with it, losers."

CatNap

And of course, CatNap. He was a sleepyhead of a friend, when he knew you were being bullied, he simply 'slept'.

By nighttime, he went one by one to the bullies' houses. Scaring them and making them scream so loud. He was giving them nightmares with the message of "VIOLENCE OR SILENCE?" This went on for a long time until they gave up bullying you and went on full silent mode.

CatNap still haunts them even if they stopped bullying you.

When Noémie Di Bendetto and her family moved to the island, he hated her. She was a kook like him, and had been nothing but kind to everyone she met. She had never spoke rudely of him or even looked wrong in his direction, but he couldnt help the deep sense of hatred he felt.

He remembers the first time they met. Her father and Ward worked together and the Camerons invited them over for supper. They sat beside eachother and she attempted to make polite conversation with him. She was too nice. Like an angel.

She had to be fucking with him? Surely shes heard the rumours of him? And if not she would soon, and abandon him eventually anyways, so what was the point?

This was his logic with most of his "friends" nowadays. He only talked to girls to fuck them, and unless they were Topper or Kelce, his other friends were like pawns to him. He didnt trust anyone, he couldn't.

Noémie never let up though. She always greeted him with a smile, and even a hug if she got the chance, clinging onto him like a koala. His heart would swell when she looked up at him like he hung the stars in the sky, but because couldnt identify the feeling in his chest, he labelled it as hatred.

In his mind, it was hatred that ran so deep he didnt want her to he happy. Thats the only reason his chest tightened when he saw her laughing with some random guy who could never treat her the way he could. No other possibilities.

He only learned it was love after blowing up at her. She had brought the Camerons a pie she baked and had caught Rafe on a day worse then usual.

As normal, she was as sweet as sugar. She offered him the biggest smile even though he snarled at her upon opening the door. Instead of being gentlemanly like he knew he should've been, like he wanted to be, he yelled, or rather screamed and berated at her to leave them alone and stop clinging on and trying to get him to like her. He said nasty, hurtful things, and accused Noémie of things he knew weren't true.

He expected that to make her cry or break her spirit, and he regretted it directly after saying it but she didnt even flinch. Her face went stone cold and she gave him this look, with a bit of a smirk, that made his heart drop.

She ignored him for the next couple weeks and he couldn't stop thinking of her. He tried approaching her twice and she shut him down with a harsh "no".

He was going insane. She was like an addiction he didnt know he had. He had seen her nearly everyday, she texted him all the time, brightened every moment of his life, and he destroyed that.

By the third week without her, he decided he needed to apologize, he'd crawl on his hands and knees to beg for her forgiveness, anything to get back in her good graces.

He wasnt sure what it was. He didnt like her, this should be exactly what he wants. For her to just leave him alone, like he asked.

He drove to her house late at night, sending her a text he knew she would ignore (he still felt better sending the text as if 'announcing' his presence), and slipping through the backdoor that they kept unlocked. He snuck up to her room with the percision of many late night teenage hookups.

Her door was slightly peaked open and so was her window. He wasnt surprised. She was such a trusting individual sleeping with such easy ways to enter was completely on brand. He was, however surprised, when he crept beside her and pulled the cover off her shoulder a tiny bit to tap her awake, she was wearing bothing but a thin, lacy white nightgown. As if the change in tempture shoxked her awake, Noémie eyes snapped open.

"Rafe. Why are you in my room at four in thr morning?"

"I couldn't sleep..."

tw 4 addiction, talks of self harm, talks of disordered eating, mental illness, self destructive tendencies, just overall me being a piece of shit.

hey, guys. ash here. i guess i wanna apologize for just dissapearing. when i had originally started posting, and decided i was going to be a writer i was sober, n in a better headspace. since then i have relapsed, n fallen into the cycle of addiction n destruction n just overall have not been in a good place.

i have struggled with substance abuse since i was around 13, mainly being alcohol or weed due to easy access. more recently in january of this year i had started abusing antihistamines. that way, i could tell myself it was just medicine, there was no harm in what i was doing. for those of you who don’t know, antihistamines are anti-allergy meds.

on march 17, i had overdosed. my girlfriend had found me on my bedroom floor seizing out. i was brought to the hospital via ambulance, n released the same day. i would love to say i stopped, n i realized the way im going would kill me, but i didnt. i had overdosed again 8 days later. this time when i was brought in to the er i was put on suicide watch. then i wouldve denied any attempts at harming myself, but deep down i didnt care the outcome. though im just now realizing i never really cared about what’d happen to me, but i think part of me always knew. i knew the consequences, i decided that god shall decide my fate.

i was then transferred from the er to a psychiatric unit where i was treated for depression n bipolar disorder.

when i was released a week later i decided it would be a new chapter. i had gotten a job, i was sober, n most importantly people saw me.

that lasted for around two months. the euphoria i felt had all come crashing down. i had slowly rejoined the forgotten, my own friends forgetting about me. i had fell back into isolation n self-hatred. i was fading out again, n no one noticed. no one noticed when i had started skipping meals, or the way my body physically could not allow itself to keep a single bite of food down, or the lack of sleep, even the empty look in my eyes. i have yet again fallen into the hand of addiction, seeking comfort from what i know is no longer there, what may have never been there in the first place. i have barely left my house, only going outside to walk my dog. i can no longer recognize who i see in the mirror. more recently i havent even been able to get out of bed to go to work.

i feel the need to clarify that i am 19 years old, the life i am living is not the life to live. i am actually all alone in the world. guys, if u, or a friend, or a parent, or a loved one, hell even ur worst enemy. if anyone u know, or may know of is struggling with addiction, let them know you are there. let them know that you havent gave up, youre still fighting for them. if ur thinking about trying drugs, or alcohol, hell even weed. don’t. take it from me. dont.

i havent been very active on here, n i am sorry. i am going to reopen my requests and start posting short works/blurbs. i will also get to the requests in my inbox, n those will be filled as blurbs. again, i’m sorry 4 bailing on you guys.

Summary: Fluffy Gilly x Reader

"That's a lotta money man. You sure about this?" questioned Coco looking at his best friend skeptically. "I've never been more sure. You didnt see the sadness in her eyes like I did. That thing meant something special to her and I gotta make it right." replied Gilly as he waved the little old lady over who had shown him to the glass display case when they walked in.

"Did you find what you were looking for hun?" asked the store clerk as she joined the two Mayans. "Yes, mam." replied Gilly as he pointed his purchase out. "This chick must mean a lot to you" stated Coco matter of factly as they waited for the clerk to check them out. Gilly sighed before responding. "More than just about everything in this physical world. Shes the one who got away but then she came back. I cant mess this up again" replied Gilly as he took his bag from the clerk and the two men made there way outside.

*Your House*

It was late when you got home from your shift at the local hospital. What was suppose to have been an easy 10 hours turned into a painful 14. You just wanted to shower and go to bed. You tensed as you trudged up your porch stairs when you saw a large figure stand up from your porch swing. "Sorry, I should have called" stated Gilly mentally kicking himself for not thinking this part through. "Its okay" you replied offering him a gentle smile before your eyes fell on the box in his hands. "That for me?" you asked curiously as you looked back to his face. "Yes, just a little something..... kind of an apology....olive branch after the other day. Truly didn't mean for your house to get trashed" explained Gilly as he nervously shifted from foot to foot.

You considered the man in front of you for a moment. Unsure what to make of what was going on between you two now. So many years had passed and things had changed. You couldn't deny though that your love for the man in front of you hadn't dwindled. Offer an olive branch, you could almost hear and see your late mother saying that phrase to you. Your heart ached at the memory of her. She had never liked anyone you were involved with but she had had a soft spot for Gilly. Those two had been thick as thieves when you guys had dated.

"Want to come in? I was going to order a pizza." you stated as you opened the door and stepped in the house. Gilly was shocked by your offer and followed slowly in case you changed your mind. He followed you through the house and into the kitchen. Nothing had changed in all the years since he had last stepped foot in this home. Your mother had left the house to you when she passed a few months ago and you had moved back and started renovating it. "Open this and I'll order the pizza" stated Gilly as he handed you the box and made his way back to the living room.

Setting the box on the table you grabbed a knife and cut through the tape. You wondered at what it could be as you shifted through the bubble wrap and packing peanuts until your hand hit something hard. You gasped as you pulled the Snowman figurine out, tears springing to your eyes. It looked exactly like the one your mother had given you years ago when you first started collecting them. You had been devastated when it had been broken when some of Gillys club brothers had shown up while he was helping you with a project. They had been day drinking and started play fighting each other and one thing had lead to another and a literal fight had started. Most of the damage done had been to your things, including that irreplaceable snowman.

"I know it will never be the same but I hope it brings you comfort" stated Gilly quietly as he rejoined you. "Thank you" you murmured as you gave him a quick peck on the cheek as you smiled down at the figurine. Maybe this was your mothers way of bringing you happiness back to your life.

Heads up: This is about the anti-Wavewave post and why I think it’s a bit silly, your fully welcome to ignore or disagree

It’s crazy how pressed people get about ship discourse (and I’m sorry you gotta deal with that dawg that blows) like, yeah you may find ships in a character tag, it’s always gonna happen, but like you said, you can filter tags out. Plus these fictional characters aren’t even human, and while that may mean they don’t feel attraction like people do, they could still have their hot crazy alien robot sex. (Its two sides of the same coin in my opinion) It’s not like they’re teenagers in some anime that makes it a bit weird, they’re;

1). Not humans

2). Fully realized, consenting adults

And I wouldn’t view it as homophobia due to the fact that the majority of the cast are male (or male coded at least due to the whole they’re alien robots and gender’s a human thing) so obviously most ships are gonna be MLM. Plus Soundwave and Shockwave don’t really interact with female characters as far as I can recall. 🤷

What’s even weirder is the “maybe they’re bothers, they call each other brother (as in comrade)” but like, the arguably BIGGEST ship in this franchise is MegOP and they also refer to each other as “brother” but nobody bats an eyelash to that (Not even gonna start on Thundercraker/SkyWarp/Starscream which is a pretty popular ship for being the closest one to insecst, not bashing but yk)

From my experience fandom shipping is when you take the character you project onto or find relatable and the character/characters you like/find attractive and make them kiss. And people DONT HAVE to interact with that if they don’t like it, especially in NSFW spaces. I’m mean we’re all adults here (or at least we SHOULD BE if we’re in a NSFW space, but that’s a separate problem…) and should be able to handle things like adults, but I digress.

they met briefly when steven was 15 and wallace was 18. wallace was Going Through It tm and taking it out on some rando. steven stepped in, beat wallaces fully evolved pokemon with his two first stages, completely humiliating him in front of a crowd

this spurred a whole mental breakdown character arc for wallace but steven forgot about it like 2 seconds later lmao

very "you took everything from me" "i have no idea who you are"

unfortunately for steven he was forced to remember bc wallace had already been gym leader for several months by the time he got around to the sootoplis city badge

steven only managed to eke out a win through mega evolution because wallace was maybe going a bit too hard for a gym battle, even an 8th badge one

still, wallace apologized for that and their other meeting and they became friends

loose friends. they only really started to talk when steven became champ.

steven was baffled. he'd never had a human friend his age before but he really enjoyed being around wallace. wallace absolutely did not understand rocks but he never made fun of steven for spending hours infodumping

around the same time steven became champ, several others his age became part of the league and suddenly steven had multiple human friends his age???

he really only ever met with winona when with wallace, but he got along famously with sidney and phoebe despite their differences

quickly he realized how he felt for wallace was different than for sidney or phoebe but brushed it aside as the difference between a friend and a best friend

around then wallace started dating winona. wallace did nothing but talk about her those first few months and steven eventually realized he was angry at those convos bc he was jealous. it took another few months for it to click that he was jealous because he liked wallace romantically

decided then and there he would never ever make a move because wallace was happy with winona and planning a future with her

even once they broke up, steven didnt want to try anything because wallace was incredibly upset over being dumped and didnt want to ruin the friendship. plus, the thought of just being a rebound made him sick

wallaces romantic feelings only developed after the breakup. steven was his steady rock (pun reluctantly intended) and they became closer than ever after it.

he only realized steven liked him from sidney, brawly, and phoebe who made a joke about them dating. wallace was like haha yea that could be interpreted as crush-like but stevens always been like that

and they stared at him until he realized what that meant and went oh shit

wallace had always found steven hot but it was in a water is wet sorta way. like yea. wallace had eyes. but he thought it over and came to the conclusion that he wouldnt mind dating steven. itd been enough time after winona that being in a relationship seemed nice.

wallace tried flirting with steven for over a year (and not subtly at all) before deciding fuck it and being direct by kissing him.

steven had brushed off all attempts bc there was noooo way wallace would ever like himmm. the kiss made him rethink that though.

through the flirting phase wallaces feelings of sure why not grew into much more genuine romantic feelings so the kiss came from genuine frustration over steven casually brushing off his feelings

it was a mess figuring everything out but they decided to try dating

wallace loves using classy petnames (darling, sweetheart, beloved, my love, etc). he will also make up some truly stupid and long petnames when hes in a teasing mood. steven...isnt quite to the point of saying "fellow associate" but he isnt too fond of pet names.

mostly, his romantic words tend to be comparing wallace to gems and rocks. if it were anyone but steven wallace would be very >.> about it, but it is steven so he finds it romantic. somehow. he's not quite sure how either, but its steven.

they're each other's favorite battling partner. at times, their battles seem more like dances because they and their pokemon all know each other so well

they're always trying to find new tactics to surprise the other. at this point it's getting difficult but theres nothing better than the surprise on the others face when one whips out a new move or strategy designed specifically to counter the other. it's a sign of love and how theyre always on each others mind.

eventually, when they move in together its to sootopolis. the city is incredibly important to wallace, and while steven likes mossdeep he doesnt mind moving

he still keeps his house there but its mainly just storage for his rock collection

wallace is aghast at having a house that never has any occupants besides rocks and dirt but steven doesnt see a problem with it

he's not sure how wallace will react to learning about all the penthouse suites and villas in other regions his family own that are occupied only once every few years.

communication is their main struggle as a couple. it wasnt so bad as friends, but wallaces habit of thinking he knows best and stevens habit of ignoring any negative emotion tend to go poorly together.

generally a low pda couple. they can get very handsy in private, but steven is uncomfortable with most pda. wallace isnt a shithead (and also likes keeping his private life private), so he keeps things to simple gestures and petnames.

steven was super nervous about telling other people when they started dating. he knew most of wallaces family but only as wallaces friend and was terrified things would change or they'd be suspicious of him potentially breaking wallaces heart like winona had

nothing major changed. lisia started calling him uncle steven, and juan and beverly gave him a light shovel talk, but that was it.

tbh the worst announcement was to his dad. joseph congratulated them, then immediately asked when they were going to get married and give him grandkids.

steven just walked out of the room.

their main joking argument is acceptable date locations.

steven thinks caves are the perfect date spot. wallace does not and would prefer literally anywhere else.

steven is the one to propose.

they started thinking about it separately at around the same time, but wallace knew that steven was going to be particular about anything involving stones and metal and left getting a ring (and therefore proposing) to him.

steven was indeed very particular. he didnt hand craft the rings himself, but he did mine the material and give it to his familys go to jeweler alongside a very specific design

their wedding is surprisingly low key. the ceremony is rather small and done in the traditional sootopolitan way

the reception is larger but still not too large or exuberant. a compromise between them.

steven wouldve just gone to a courthouse and done it that way but he knew a party meant a lot to wallace. wallace meanwhile knows steven isnt a fan of huge crowds and parties so he did his best to tone it down and make it more personal.

wallace did basically all the planning. it was his dream wedding. steven said yes dear to any request and assumed it would be flawless (it was)

more of a night in kind of couple. steven isnt a partier and wallace tries not to be anymore so most of their dates tend to be very low key.

steven is a serial blanket thief. wallace usually doesnt mind until its winter

both of their teams get along very well. cradily and armaldo in particular get along well with wallaces water types

steven, stemming from years of pining, is more likely to get jealous if he sees someone flirting with wallace but doesn't dwell on it for long.

wallace meanwhile knows steven doesnt like flirting and that sort of attention so theres little jealousy on his side.

it takes a long while for them to have sex.

stevens ace so its just....not something he feels or gets. plus there were other emotions related to being trans and having sex, plus plus he'd just never done it before and was nervous from that. he knew wallace wanted it, but it took a long while for him to even be comfortable being naked in wallaces presence

wallace isnt ace, and has a decent sex drive, so he was a bit frustrated and took a lot of showers lol. he didnt push steven and more than understood his hesitancy, but oh boy did he want it.

they eventually do the do. it's not something they do a lot (steven is rarely in the right kind of mood for it) but they do it often enough to satisfy wallaces cravings.

they rarely argue. wallace tends to instigate more of the smaller squabbles since he's naturally more confrontational, but they tend to be mundane things solved in minutes

most of their serious arguments revolve around the future. the most commonly reoccurring one is about kids. wallace is very close to his family and 100% wants kids, biological or adopted. steven 100% does not. it takes a long time for them to come to any agreement.

steven is the dad who caves at the barest hint of puppy dog eyes. if wallace isnt there he *will* be persuaded to have dessert for dinner every night.

wallace, having helped raise lisia, is immune.

conversely, steven is the dad who is stricter during punishments. wallace can be persuaded to knock off a day from a grounding but not steven.

both absolutely spoil their kids rotten. all the toys and electronics and clothing they could ever want. possibly a bit too indulgent, tbh

steven is dad/daddy, wallace is baba

the kids have wallace's last name. steven has a strained relationship with basically the entirety of his family so it was a no brainer to put wallace's surname on the birth certificates.

in raising them, steven is something of a stay at home dad. he works with researching mega stones and mega evolution and a lot of it can be done from home. wallace is champion alongside his guardian duties so hes out more often.

wallace very much makes sure to spend a lot of time with his kids though. his dad being gone a lot for work was something he resented as a kid so he tries not to spend all his time working.

steven took emmy going to school the hardest. wallace had practice with lisia, but steven had barely spent more than a few hours away from emmy until school

names were the absolute biggest argument between them. steven wanted a rock name. wallace refused to name a kid malachite.

emmys name (esmeralda) was a compromise from juan. emerald, a gem, but in paldean as an actual name. it satisfied both so they went with it.

steven gave her the nickname of emmy. he based it off of emerald. wallace just sighed and went with it because it was cute.

mica and lapis were all steven. they originally had other names picked for the twins but wallace got stuck doing champion duties while steven was in the hospital. mildly delirious, highly emotional, and incredibly angry, steven went with completely new names just to spite wallace.

wallace cant even be mad. and as far as rock names go, they arent too bad. at least it wasnt malachite.

cradily and armaldo are the most overprotective of steven and wallaces pokemon. when it comes to children, they see their trainer's kids as their own and it hits something ancient in them making them a little more aggressive than usual

milotic is second. they are her little creatures. she will dragon tail anyone who looks at them wrong.
