Basic concept here is that Wilbur is like a "mentally ill" man and like becuz of that people don't like him. He's from this other planet where they have this ideology that people that act like him (or "worse") are just insane and need to put in another planet to "heal" (he's actually just autistic but people from where he lives don't know that, basically like earth but humans are all the same). Wilbur is really passionate about learning about Earth. He's studied over it for many years and is intrigued to see how the humans over there exist. So he gets sent to Earth and meets Quackity.

NOW THIS IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD !!

Quackity is ill. Physically ill. He has a sickness that's spread around in Earth (basically a zombie apocalypse to keep it simple). His days are numbered and suddenly this person has intruded in his life? Wilbur is smart, studied enough around what is vital for a human to live a normal happy life.

AND THESE TWO HEAL EACH OTHER !! Wilbur tries to cure Quackity with his illness and Quackity, instead of curing him, understands him. He doesn't dismiss Wilbur as this "weird person" and instead actually does his best to help him around social cues and all when he doesn't understand. More than willing to hear out Wilbur's ideas and rants.

Of course, Wilbur confuses this as him starting to being "cured", he believes that Quackity has been healing him because he "suddenly" is able to feel "normal". (It's just Quackity actually treating him as a human being and feeling comfortable around him). And once he goes back home (just when Quackity is about to confess he's dying) he realizes that was never the case.

Quackity was understanding. The people from his planet were not. Quackity understood him.

Does Quackity live? Does he die? I dunno !! I still haven't thought about that yet but I have the first chapter written !!
