I've had a bit of a struggle getting back to normal life after cancer treatment. I feel good for a few days, and then I crash. Had a really promising early week, but the last few days were not good. I think part of that was from feeling disorganized and hemmed in by piles of papers.
Today I was able to get moving and straighten up the studio.
I am still way behind on paperwork, as business items and receipts need to be addressed and I haven't been able to tackle any of it in months.
But art has to come first. Cleaning up the business piles meant putting important things forward and filing other things away out of sight where they don't feel oppressive.
I like a comfy clutter in my studio, but it has to be a manageable, organized space, or I can't function in it.
I feel a little less overwhelmed today!
Baby steps!
I hope everyone out there is doing their best! It's all we can do!

I started working on a new acrylic painting! I made myself a couple of gouache studies to figure out the colours and the composition.
I usually make my studies digitally but there is always a risk of something going wrong because what works digitally might not work traditionally and vice versa and I have had to redo entire parts of or entire paintings because of this.
I must say that I am already feeling much better about working with traditional media studies. I might be using gouache more often for my studies going forward.
Find me and my art elsewhere!

Tipping these into the big jar rn.
This thing's got every pencil nub I've made since 2014 & it's the most oddly satisfying thing I own ✨✏️✏️✏️✏️✏️✨
