What Love Is
Tumblr media
Guinevere stood outside her balcony as she looked at the view from the castle. She enjoyed watching all the people doing work talking to each other and enjoyed watching the children play. Suddenly she felt a small hand wrap around her finger she grins as she turns to look as her daughter Mia “Hi there” Mia babbles then raises her hands Guinevere giggles “Ok mommy’s picking you up” She lifts her as she cuddles her “My beautiful little girl”
Mia giggles “Ma!”
“Yes I’m mother can you say mother?”
“Ma!”
Guinevere laughs “You’ll get it eventually”
“Da?”
Guinevere smiles as she hugs her “Dad will be back soon I miss him too”
A maid comes in she bows “Your Majesty your highness” She hands her a letter “A letter from the king”
“Oh thank you” She takes the letter
The maid bows and exits
Guinevere grins “Ok sweetie let’s see what your father said”
My love,
I should arrive by tomorrow the journey was hard and treacherous but we made it through. I can’t wait to see you and our princess of course I can’t wait to spoil the both of you with gifts. I love you both so much.
Arthur
Guinevere grins “You see your father is gonna be back tomorrow”
Mia grins as she claps her hands “Ya!”
“Now come let’s see your Aunt Morgana”
Guinevere picks Mia up and walks out the room
****
Guinevere stands in the garden with Mia she reaches for a flower “You like this one?”
“Ya!”
Guinevere plucks it and hands it to her “There you go something as beautiful as you”
Mia giggles as she dances around “Wheeeeee”
Guinevere laughs “You’re so cute”
The sound of trumpets ring through the air “The king has arrived!”
Guinevere picks up Mia “Come on baby your father is here”
Mia babbles happily as Guinevere races to the front gate she grins as she sees Arthur climb off his horse
He smiles as Mia claps “Da!”
He walks up to her and takes her in his arms “Hi there my princess” He kisses her cheek
Mia wraps his arms around his neck “Dada!”
He hugs her back “I missed you too” Arthur smiles as her puts her down then cups Guinevere’s face with both hands “My Queen”
“My king”
He kisses her deeply then pulls away “I missed you so much”
“I missed you too”
Arthur kneels down and pulls out sewn stuffed rabbit “For you my princess”
“Yay!” Mia hugs it tightly “Wuv!”
Arthur smiles as she dances with it “I’ve got a million dresses for her too but I knew she’ll love the toy more”
Guinevere giggles “She loves all her toys more”
Arthur chuckles then takes Mia’s hand “You wanna play with Mordred”
“Ya!”
“Good let’s go find him” Arthur whispers to Guinevere “I’ll see you later my queen”
“I look forward to it”
****
Guinevere sits in the bedroom brushing her hair a knock comes at the door the Arthur steps in “My love”
“How’s my amazing husband how was it?”
“It was interesting visiting that country I saw many sights and the people were welcoming” He pulls out a bag from behind his back “I have something you’ll love”
Guinevere smiles as she opens the bag revealing a gold bracelet “Arthur this is wonderful”
“It’s not just jewelry it’s jewelry with meaning”
“Oh really?”
“Yes” He rubs his fingers over the jewel “Each jewel is a symbol for love and I couldn’t pick just one for you because I love you that much”
Guinevere wipes a tear from her face “I love you too Arthur”
“I’m so glad I have you as my wife”
“And you my husband please tell me you wont leave for a while”
Arthur smiles “Not unless it’s an emergency nothing will keep me from your side”
He kisses her deeply

Comte's Ghost Mansion (IkeVamp; Luig's Mansion AU) Part 4
a/n: What do you mean this silly ghost AU has LORE??? What will you do against a playful ghost who can split himself into multiples? Only one way to find out! Happy reading~ ✨
Tags: Humor, Crack treated seriously, Luigi’s Mansion AU, Spooky scary spectral vampires, Ghostbuster MC Word Count: ~1900 words Characters: You, Sebastian, Ghost!Arthur Previous: Part 3 Next: Part 5
~*~
You returned to Sebastian, retelling the events of your incursion. The rain had stopped by now and the clouds parted. He scrawled furiously in his notebook, like your words were made of gold. You expected him to be mad at you for capturing a couple of his esteemed residents.
“While I should be, I’m more impressed that you succeeded at all. They’ll be fine. Keep up the good work.”
He took the Poltergust off your shoulders.
“I suppose an explanation is in order,” he said.
“About time, yeah.”
“Follow me.”
Sebastian ushered you into the garden shed. It was a lot bigger than its exterior suggested. Sebastian unlocked a compartment at the bottom of the machine. Two portrait paintings emerged, one for each captured resident. The musician maintained the scowl he wore upon capture while the trapeze artist smiled ear to ear with his eyes closed.
“He’s a writer actually,” Sebastian corrected you regarding the latter.
“A clown-ish one,” you added.
Sebastian chuckled. “It’s part of his charm. Come, I made you some food. You must be starving.”
“Yes, please!”
He asked for your choice of beverage, impressing you with the variety he listed. Alongside it, he brought you some bread, cheese, and a handful of washed grapes.
“I grew them myself in this garden,” said Sebastian, referring to the grapes.
You thanked him for the food. While nowhere near a full meal, it regained some of your energy.
“How long till the sunrise?” You asked.
“Not for another six hours or so.”
This was going to be a long night.
A yawn escaped past your lips, but you had no desire to sleep. You returned the conversation to the portrait paintings. Sebastian explained that the residents weren’t originally ghosts, but some mysterious event caused their spirits to roam at night.
One of the residents, a bright-minded inventor, built the Poltergust 1899 to take care of that. As the only unaffected human, it was Sebastian’s job to capture them, lest they escaped the mansion and never returned.
Every night, Sebastian patrolled the halls. And every morning, he placed the portrait painting above their bed to return the spirit to its vessel. When the residents woke up, they retained no memory of their ghostly wandering.
“And what made you think it was okay to put me in harm’s way?” You said, quirking an eyebrow.
“Harm? They won’t hurt you. Unless you disturbed them in some way, like I had specifically instructed you not to.”
You mumbled some excuse, but Sebastian was not convinced. What you had not noticed before were the dark circles under his eyes. Fighting off those ghosts was not so terrible, you persuaded yourself, and you had nothing else to do for the next six sleepless hours. It was kind of fun, in a strange way. A far departure from your regular life. And if it all turned out to be a dream, you wanted to see it through till the end.
After a good while of rest, you asked Sebastian to hand over the refueled Poltergust.
He raised his eyebrows. “You’re willing to go back in?”
“You, sir, still need to find me a way home. But until then, I’ll take care of it.”
He thanked you profusely and became quite animated. Upon seeing your shocked face, he pardoned his excitement and returned to his stoic self.
To ease your journey, he replaced the residents’ belongings in your pouch with a master key and a map.
You decided to explore the west wing this time. The first unlocked door revealed a massive library with aisles of bookshelves on two floors.
You’ve come to realize that everything in this mansion was so…grand. No wonder the butler looked tired. If he held sole responsibility for the whole manor’s upkeep, of course he would jump at the opportunity to enlist your help.
Walking by the bookshelves, your bookworm heart could not help but inspect the titles of each aisle. Most of them were written in French, some were in English, and the rest were new to you.
Something skittered down from the ceiling. It was a colony of cotton-like creatures with little bat wings and dotted black eyes. You waved the tube of the Poltergust at them, but they weren't affected by your presence. They seemed harmless. Cute, even.
"There you are, Sebas!" A voice called out behind you.
You tried to turn around, but you could not move, as though you were tied up. "Oh dear, you're not Sebastian at all." The voice lilted, sounding amused rather than disappointed.
"Let me go!" You wiggled as hard as you could. As you did, the invisible rope around you took shape as two tweed-covered arms.
"Easy there, dove. It wouldn't do for a pretty bird to injure itself in its haste."
You pushed your elbows as far back as you could; you just needed to reach the switch on the machine.
"Where are my manners? The name's Arthur, mystery writer at your service, but you can call me anytime." He winked.
Another writer, another clown. But some things were better left unsaid, you reminded yourself. You implored him again to release you.
“Humor me, why don’t you? I’ve been deprived of good company for so long.” You could practically see his pouty lips and puppy-dog eyes matching his tone. “Oh, I’ve got it! Let’s play a game, shall we?”
He let you go. Just as before, when you reached for the doorknob, it was locked. You readied your Poltergust 1899, bracing yourself for whatever he may throw at you.
When you turned back around, there were three of him. Three separate, identical copies of him. They all wore the same blue three-piece suit with a loose tie, just as they all wore the same cheeky grin.
“Turning your back in a duel may prove a fatal mistake, my dear,” said one of them. “But I am nothing if not a gentle-ghost. Here’s how this game works: Only one of us is the real Arthur. If you can catch the real me, you win. If you catch one of my clones, we get to play again.”
A one-in-three shot at nabbing the right one. Not the worst odds, you reckon, but choose incorrectly and you may find yourself stuck here way longer than your patience would allow. You had no negotiation power in the matter.
“Fine, I’ll play your little game.”
The three ghosts beamed excitedly, zipping around with incredible speed. They roamed freely in and out of the bookshelves. Every now and then, they would look back at you, like puppies making sure their master was still playing along.
It was one thing to play spot-the-difference when hovered side-by-side, it was another thing entirely when they were zooming around like children riding out a sugar rush. There must be some way to slow them down, you thought.
Your first attempt was to brute force it—aim at the nearest one and see what happens. You caught one on his path out of a bookshelf, but a well-timed levitating book took the hit and blocked the vacuum tube, allowing him to escape. It was a copy of ‘A Study in Scarlet’.
“Cheeky,” he lilted. “But I won’t go easy on you. Unless you could offer me something enticing in return.”
With every word he uttered, your desire to put him in his place only rose.
More books were pulled out of their stations to shield the frivolous phantoms. You tried to move them out of the way, similar to how you did with the violins, but these books were too light and stuck to your tube instantly. There was not enough resistance to redirect their course.
You needed a way to shoot them far enough to secure a capture.
You leaned against a bookshelf between the aisles to catch your breath. You had been running around with little success. Seeing you dispirited, the flirtatious triplets hovered around you, leaning out of the bookshelves with arms crossed.
“Well, this is no fun,” said the first in front of you.
“How about a hint?” said the second to your right.
“And a prize for your efforts!” said the third to your left.
While they chatted over ‘prize’ ideas, you look at each one properly. There actually were some differences between them. One of them, floating in front of you, pushed up his square-frame glasses, and you wondered if it had always been there. The one to your left wore a golden earring at the top of his right ear. It did not seem incorporeal like the rest of him. Like he wore it specifically for the occasion. The last one wore gloves of midnight black.
The earring bearer spoke next, “I can confidently tell you that I’m not the real Arthur.”
The one wearing gloves added, “In fact, he’s the real Arthur.” He pointed at the glasses-wearing ghost.
“Me?!” The accused shot back. “I say that’s a bold-faced lie!”
“And the best part,” said the third. “Only one of us is telling the truth. Good luck!”
And they were back to their zooming selves. The machine weighed you down the longer it remained on your back. It’s low rumble went from soothing to distracting as you tried to think.
If the second one is telling the truth…then the first one is lying.
There was also the issue of the troublesome books that each one kept near and dear. You kept trying anyway. Each book that you caught was replaced by another. Half of the bookshelves were emptied by now. You wondered if there was a limit to their range. All the while, the frivolous phantoms observed your strategy with intrigue.
But if the first is lying, then there would be two real Arthurs. A contradiction.
The glasses-wearing one had a tendency to loop like an infinite symbol, like his course was predefined. The earring bearer always stayed in your vision, but just out of reach.
On the other hand, if the second is lying… then the glasses-wearer was telling the truth.
Another book obscured your aim. A copy of Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’. In your frustration, you reversed the strength dial a little too far, and it shot the book up onto the second floor of the library.
And if that’s the case, then the first is lying, too. It’s worth a shot.
“Hey! That was one of my favorites,” said the earring-bearing ghost. He turned to fly after it, and that’s when your opportunity arose.
It must be you!
With a strong conviction, you cranked up the strength of the Poltergust and aimed at the retreating ghost.
“Looks like turning your back was your fatal mistake, sir.”
As soon as his tail was caught in the machine, the other two phantoms vanished in a show of smoke.
You heard something clank against the floor. It was the golden earring, and beside it was a little treasure chest. Inside it was a brilliant blue gem, and a message saying, ‘Best two out of three?’
You rolled your eyes, trying your best to push down the smile that made your cheeks hurt. The click of the library door signaled that it was unlocked again. You sighed with relief and made your way down the hall to the next target with Sebastian’s map as your guide.

Dear people, it FINALLY happened! Lancelot has finally admitted he’s in love with MC!
Tumblr media
Now, given that BOMBASTIC finale, I wonder what happened for those who chose Arthur/Artura. Because MC is arrested due to infidelity, I’m guessing that if MC chose Arthur/Artura, she couldn’t be arrested on such grounds, right???
And I’m so STUPID that I didn’t even think of playing this chapter again to see what would be the outcome if I didn’t chose Lancelot.
PIXELBERRY, PLEASE! RELEASE AT ONCE THE OPTION TO REPLAY WHATEVER CHAPTER WE WANT WITHOUT RESTARTING THE BOOK!

What is that? (a tattooed reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: You tied your hair in a high ponytail that morning, and it was enough for the tip of your tattoo to be visible. You've had it for so long that you're used to it, and sometimes you forget it's there — plus, you forgot that they've never seen it before.
Words: 1716
Tags: reader have tattoos; platonic relationships; more like friendships; no pronouns for reader, but you wear a dress and have sort of long hair.
Can you tell I have favorites? Only Isaac, Mozart, Jean, Arhur, Vincent, Theo, Napoleon and Sebastian show up. Le Comte is vaguely mentioned.
If you're curious to see the tattoos, I linked their images in their respective descriptions throughout the fanfic.
Tumblr media
“What is that, mademoiselle?”
You're helping Sebastian with breakfast, moving around the dining room, but you’ve been feeling a strong stare for a while. You're already accustomed to everyone, so you don't mind. You knew that if it was Isaac trying to muster the courage to ask you something, he would eventually do it. But it’s Jean’s voice, and it catches your attention because he usually eats in silence; and he sounds unsure and curious.
You set Arthur’s coffee in front of him while you glance at the table and everything you and Sebastian made. Perhaps there's something he doesn't know, like when you baked him macarons, but today's menu is the same as usual.
“What is what?”
“That thing,” he points in your direction.
Isaac, Mozart, Vincent, and Theo are already having breakfast too, but they pause to glance at you, curious about what Jean is talking about. You feel a bit self-conscious and briefly inspect your clothes. Did you spill something? Fortunately, no.
“I don’t follow, Jean.”
“That thing you have here,” he points at his own back. “I’ve seen it since I sat here to eat, but I can’t understand.”
You raise an eyebrow at him and look over your shoulder, Arthur takes advantage that you’re still by his side to lean backwards on his chair and measure you up and down — and definitely stare at your ass.
“Stop it, perv,” you playfully spat the writer’s arm, earning a chuckle from him.
“Ah, I think Master Jean is talking about your tattoo,” Sebastian tries to help, pointing at his own nape.
Realization finally hits you. Since arriving at the mansion, you've been exclusively wearing long clothes that cover almost your entire body. However, summer started a few weeks ago, and you've been feeling the full force of the heat. It's scorching every day, and at times, you wake up covered in sweat. You've been yearning for an air conditioner or even just a simple fan. So you bought lighter clothes recently — aka Comte bought you a whole summer wardrobe as a gift. What you're wearing today is just an off-the-shoulder dress, so the front and back necklines are a bit lower than usual, but not by much. However, you tied your hair in a high ponytail that morning, and it was enough for the tip of your tattoo to be visible. You've had it for so long that you're used to it, and sometimes you forget it's there — plus, you forgot that they've never seen it before.
“What is that?” Jean is even more curious now, evident from the way he furrows his brow.
“It's a drawing on my body, made with a special kind of paint that never fades. It's a form of art.”
“Really?” You've piqued Theo's interest in art. “And what is it?”
“Music,” and now you’ve piqued Mozart’s interest in music. He doesn’t really show it, but you know him well enough to see when he’s curious. “Well, kinda. It goes a little down my spine, but it’s safe to show. Sebastian, can you help me, please?”
The butler nods and approaches you. You turn your back and move your ponytail to the side for a better view, while Sebastian lowers your neckline slightly so the others can satisfy their curiosity and see it.
It starts just at the end of your nape and goes 5 inches down. It’s an all-black DNA drawing with musical notes on the middle lines, a representation of a metronome pendulum on top, and a treble clef at the bottom. The middle actually has the same number of lines as a music sheet, and the notes can be read as the first five notes of your favorite song.
There’s only silence for a few moments, and as you turn around, you see that they're still staring at you. You think Theo hadn't even blinked until now because he suddenly blinks a lot, and his eyes meet yours.
“It’s pretty!” Vicent smiles like the angel he is. “Is it a real song?”
“It is,” Mozart hums the notes, his eyes conveying that he knows it’s your favorite song.
You've told him once, when you went to the music room to give him an afternoon snack. You were already friends (kind of), so when you saw he wasn't there at the moment, you knew he wouldn't mind if you sat down and softly played it; so you did. The next thing you knew, he was barging into the music room to scold whoever had the audacity to touch his piano, but he stopped when he saw you. He may have asked you to write down the notes so he could play it with you.
“Oh, yeah, you played it for us in the last banquet,” Isaac remembers.
“Does it hurt?” Jean asked, curious again.
“No, not anymore. It hurt when I was getting it done. Boy, that was one hell of a ride,” you laugh. “But it’s been years, so it’s all healed and okay now.”
“It suits you, hondje. Do you have more?”
“I do!” You beam at them, feeling all bubbly inside. It's lovely how they always show interest in anything about you and remember what you like. “It’s on my thigh.” You use the tip of your toes to put more leverage on your right leg, grabbing a fistful of the skirt of your dress. You lift it to show them your tattoo, but a hand stops you when it's reaching your knee.
“Nunuche, what the hell?”
Napoleon had just woken up and was joining you in the dining room. Did you say something about your thigh? He was still a little sleepy, so he thought he heard you wrong. But then you grabbed your dress… What the fuck do you think you’re doing? He was at your side in the blink of an eye, gripping your wrists tightly and looking at you with a panic expression. It’d certainly be red in a second, if the loud slap sound was any indication.
And that’s how you make vampires choke on their foods and drinks. You look at them, a confused expression on your face. Isaac spat his tea all over his plate and is now coughing to clear his throat. Jean dropped his fork, frozen in his chair. Mozart is blinking in a frenzy, his mug in such a tight grip on his hand that his knuckles are white. Vincent is blushing furiously, his mouth agape. Theo is actually amused, and you clearly heard Arthur complaining to Napoleon that it was just getting good.
“What’s wrong?” You ask, startled.
“MC, just remember we’re not in the 21st century,” Sebastian says, clearly holding a smirk.
You feel your entire face heat up. Oh my God! That was certainly an uncomfortable situation. But you were so used to them; they made you feel at home, so you didn’t really think about what you were doing.
“Oh, right, sorry,” You chuckle and blush under the intensity of their stares. “But it’s no big deal, really. Sebastian and le Comte have already seen it.”
“Say that again?” Theo asks as his gaze drifts to the butler, just like everyone else's.
“It’s nothing weird!” You can almost feel the emperor’s grip tightening. Sometimes he was so overprotective — they all were, and it was both endearing and funny. You huff. “We were talking about the 21st century, and I told Sebas that I have tattoos and showed him. Simple as that. Lots of people wear clothes that show a lot of skin in modern days. Do you think I would lift my dress to show the tattoo when I’m right next to Arthur if it wasn’t okay?” You deadpan Napoleon.
“Hey!” The writer complains, but everybody ignores him. You do have a point.
Napoleon frowns, but slowly releases you. You look at the others and just from a look they know you’ll be mad if they freak out again, so they try to act cool. Keyword: try. They’re staring so much you think they’ll open a hole in your thigh, but at least they’re quiet. You lift the dress just a little more and your tattoo is finally showing. It’s colorful and about the same size as the other. There’s white fine lines connecting dots, forming the Leo constellation, with a blue-purple watercolor background.
“Yes, luv! Now that’s a good breakfast,” Arthur smirks and places his elbow on the table to support his head as he looks at you. He’s so glad that Jean started this conversation while you were still beside him. Napoleon purses his lips and glares at the writer, but he knows better than to start a fight. His nunuche wouldn't let him live it down.
“What the fuck is that?” Theo raises an eyebrow. Don’t get him wrong, he likes the art, but he just doesn’t understand what it’s supposed to be.
“Theo, language,” Vincent scolds his brother. He doesn’t want you to think they don’t like it.
“Is it upside down?” Jean frowns and tilts his head, trying to get a different angle, but it doesn’t make a difference.
"It's the Leo constellation," you chuckle and glance at Isaac, knowing he would understand. He enjoyed stargazing and always invited you to join him, especially after discovering your shared interest — then he started rambling about physics and astronomy, and you were lost.
“Oh, the stars,” Vincent says.
"So," Theo begins, and you can tell from his amused tone that he's about to say something to make you blush, "you have one that resembles Mozart and another that resembles Isaac."
“No, no. It’d have to be an apple for Newt,” Arthur grins when the poor physicist blushes as red as… the mentioned fruit.
“You’re the worst,” Isaac mumbles under his breath.
You chuckle at their banter. “So that’s it,” you say, releasing your dress. “We have a lot of things to do. So finish your breakfasts quickly.” You clap your hands twice.
“Indeed,” Sebastian nods in agreement.
You have moments of silence after that and you go back to work, but you feel the stares the whole day. You know they still have so much to say and ask, but they stay quiet.
You have some “not-so-permanent tattoos” now — and they might have helped do some.
Tumblr media
I don't have tattoos yet, but I really want it. I'd make the first one, but with colors.

Saint Valentine's Day
Tumblr media
Arthur sat at the round table in thought as his knights chatted around him Hmmm…let’s see…no can’t do that
“Arthur?”
No I don’t wanna do that
“Arthur!”
I wonder if I can
“ARTHUR!” Kay slams his fist on the table
Arthur jumps “Huh? Oh my apologies Kay”
“It’s fine but what’s got you so lost in thought?”
Gawain laughs “Isn’t it obvious?” He throws a arm around Arthur “Look at that empty chair he misses his queen”
Arthur chuckles as he removes Gawain’s arm “Well yes I do miss my queen while she’s away visiting her father but that’s not all I’m thinking about”
“Oh I know St Valentine’s day right?”
Arthur chuckles “Yes that’s right”
Gawain stands “Ok fellow knights we have a very important mission to wow the queen with the most amazing St Valentine’s day surprise! Any ideas?”
The table goes silent until Yvain speaks up “I think I’ve got an idea”
****
Elena sat at her vanity brushing her hair she was so excited to return back to Camelot tomorrow. A knock came at her door “Come in”
A servant enters in “Your Majesty this letter came for you” “Oh thank you very much” As the servant leaves she quickly opens the letter
My love,
I’m so excited for your return tomorrow I can’t wait till your back in my arms again. In honor of your return I’ve arranged the St Valentine’s day ball just for you. I know you’ll enjoy it as much as I will. I love you my queen
Arthur
Elena grins as she reads the note over and over again then giggles He loves to spoil me I can’t to see him
The next day she prepares her horse for the journey. She gives her father goodbyes and heads off to Camelot. She reaches Camelot by nightfall and eagerly gets off her horse I can’t wait to see Arthur
A servant intercepts her as she enters the castle “Your majesty your not ready for the ball”
“What do you mean?”
“The king has left you a dress come it’s in your room” She guides her to the room and pulls out a dress from the wardrobe.
“Wow it’s beautiful I love it”
The servant helps her change then she helps her pin up her hair “Oh wow this is amazing”
“I’m glad you love it your majesty now it’s time for you to head to the ball”
Elena quickly heads down the hall and the guards open the door to the ballroom. She looks around and finds it empty No one’s here am I early?
She feels a pair of arms around her “I see you got the dress”
She giggles and turns around “Yes and I love it”
Arthur smiles “I knew you would look beautiful in it”
“I thought there was ball where is everyone?”
Arthur smirks “This is our own private ball”
“You did that for me?”
“Yes my beautiful wife” He kisses her hand “Now” He nods towards the musicians who play a slow romantic tune then bows “May I have this dance?”
“Yes you may” Arthur guides her into a slow dance Elena smiles “Is there more to this ball I should look forward to?”
“Oh this is just the beginning my love” He dances her over to a table filled with gifts
“Arthur these are all for me?”
“I don’t see any other beautiful woman”
“You didn’t have to”
Arthur places a finger on her lips “I wanted to cause there’s no one more deserving of these”
“Awww Arthur” She kisses him deeply “I love you”
“I love you too Elena” He grabs a gift off the table “I want you to open this one first”
Elena grins as she opens the gift she smiles when she sees the tiara inside “Arthur this is beautiful”
“I had this personally made for you”
Elena looks closer “These are the jewels from my kingdom”
Arthur smiles “Your father had them delivered so I could add them just wanted to make sure you had a piece of your home and Camelot too”
Elena wipes her tears “Arthur this is so thoughtful”
“I’m glad you love it” He puts it on her head “It looks amazing on you
“You’re amazing Arthur now I have a gift for you”
“You’re the greatest gift”
Elena giggles “But you’ll enjoy this one” She grabs her hand and places it on her stomach
Arthur’s eyes go wide “You’re”
“With child yes”
Arthur picks her up and spins her around “You’ve made me increasingly happy!”
Elena laughs “Arthur put me down!”
He sets her down gently “I love you so much”
“I love you too” He kisses her deeply

Another Day
A/N: July’s prompt for @hp-12monthsofmagic is “Surprise…”, and this story contains a fairly big one. I’ll let Charlie tell you about it… Warnings: two minor swear word, one of which barely counts as a swear. Tagging: @fantasywriter19 and @toads-in-my-pockets, who I think may particularly enjoy this little story.
Tumblr media
The sun was high in the sky, making the autumn leaves on the ground glow in shades of gold as Charlie arrived in the front garden of the Burrow. From inside the house, the sounds of laughter and clattering pots and pans could be heard as he crunched his way across the yard to the front porch, still dizzy from his Portkey.
He knocked on the front door and was greeted by his mother, who immediately smothered him in an almost rib-breakingly tight hug.
“Bloody hell, Mum. It’s like you’ve not seen me in six months, not six weeks!”
“Well, six weeks is a long time when I had gotten used to you being around all the time,” Mrs Weasley replied. “It’s just lovely to have you home, dear.”
Charlie’s mother let him go, looking almost expectantly behind him before sighing deeply.
“What’s the matter?” Charlie asked her.
“Oh, nothing. Nothing at all. I thought that maybe… Oh, never mind. Come on inside, dear.”
Shaking his head despairingly, Charlie followed his mother inside the house. It didn’t look quite the same as it had when he was growing up, but it still felt like home, a fact he was grateful for, given the state the house had been in at the end of the war. The Death Eaters had completely ransacked the house and destroyed parts of it; it had taken Charlie and his brother Percy the best part of a year to fully restore it to its former unglorified glory.
In the living room was Percy himself, along with Charlie’s other two eldest brothers and their father. Charlie hugged each of them in turn, finishing with his older brother, Bill.
“Where’s Fleur?” Charlie asked him, looking around himself as if his sister-in-law might suddenly appear out of nowhere - which, in fairness, she could.
“She went for some air,” replied Bill, smiling broadly. “She’s out in the back garden watching Harry and Ginny teach Teddy to ride a broom.”
“Right. And the others?”
“Ron and Hermione should be here any minute now, and knowing Artemis, she will be here ten minutes late.”
“Of course. Why break the habit of a lifetime?” Charlie said, raising his eyebrows knowingly. “I’ll go and show my face outside.”
In the back garden, Fleur Weasley was sitting on a deck chair with a glass of water, watching Charlie’s sister Ginny and her boyfriend holding a blue-haired toddler upright on a broomstick. At the sight of her brother, Ginny left Harry and Teddy to their flying lesson and ran across the grass towards him.
“Did you come here alone?” she demanded, without even saying hello first.
“It’s nice to see you too, Gin.”
“Yeah, whatever. Answer the question.”
“Uh, yes. Why?”
“Oh, mum was getting all excited. She got it into her head that you were bringing a girl home as a surprise.”
Charlie blinked. “Why would she think that?”
“Because Mum just loves marrying people off, doesn’t she?” Ginny laughed. “And because you only ever usually come home when it’s a special occasion.”
Ginny had a point, Charlie had to admit that. When he had first left home at eighteen, he struggled to afford Portkeys, and always found himself feeling more homesick returning to Romania after visiting his family. Going home infrequently had become somewhat of a habit, but after the war ended and he moved back to Romania following a year’s sabbatical, his priorities had changed. He had visited more often in the last five months, but it just so happened that his visits had coincided with big events: Ginny’s graduation, George’s shop re-opening, Ron’s engagement. This was the first time he had come home without there being some sort of occasion, the first time that it was just another day in the life of the Weasley family.
“Anyway,” Ginny continued, apparently not noticing the somewhat guilty conscience of her brother, “Mum started putting twos together, you know what she’s like.”
“She does like putting twos together.”
“So, you definitely haven’t brought a girl home, then?”
Charlie looked one way and then the other, before holding his hands aloft and shrugging his shoulders.
“Mum will be disappointed,” Ginny laughed, and Fleur smirked into her glass of water.
“I expect zat she will cope,” she said wryly.
From inside the house, Molly called that dinner was ready, and the whole family made their way towards the kitchen. Charlie ducked under a platter of roast potatoes making its own way to the table in order to greet the latecomers: his youngest brother Ron and his fiancée, and Charlie’s best friend from school, Artemis Hexley.
“Trust you to arrive just in time for food,” he muttered to her as he pulled her into a hug. “Though you could’ve at least brushed your hair.”
“Oh, piss off,” Artemis prodded Charlie in the ribs and wriggled out from his arms. “How was your journey here, anyway?”
“Not too bad.”
“The grannies of Ottery St Catchpole all survived you apparating, then?”
“You know, that joke stopped being funny about eight years ago.”
“To you, maybe.”
Artemis grinned wickedly and made her way to the table, Charlie following behind her. As the plates of food were passed around and the kitchen was filled with the sound of lively conversation, he realised how much he had missed moments like this. This was exactly what he had wanted for his visit home.
When the chatter at the dinner table reached a natural lull, Charlie cleared his throat quietly. Before he could say anything to fill the gap, however, Bill rose to his feet.
“I didn’t realise there were going to be speeches,” said George, through a mouthful of food.
“I’ll be quick, I promise,” Bill laughed sheepishly. “It’s just that while everyone is here, I - well, Fleur and I - wanted to tell you all something.” He placed a hand on his wife’s shoulder and smiled at her so widely he looked as if he might burst from happiness, before telling the rest of the family: “We are going to have a baby.”
Suddenly, the kitchen was filled with even more noise and movement than before. Molly and Arthur Weasley rose from their seats to embrace their oldest son and daughter-in-law, Molly making high-pitched noises and crying. Percy congratulated them heartily, and Artemis dropped her fork on the floor in surprise.
Charlie bent down to pick it up and handed it back to her, their eyes meeting as the fork exchanged hands. She pursed her lips and raised her eyebrows, and he gave her an almost imperceptible shrug in response.
Just like that, the day now belonged to Bill, Fleur, and their unborn child. The talk at the dinner table had turned to babies, to names and dates and sleeping arrangements. Even after dinner ended, the discussion continued, with Charlie’s mother rushing to find the family albums to find photos of her own seven babies for everyone to look at, an ordeal Charlie managed to escape by offering to clean up after dinner.
“Can I just grab a glass for Fleur?” Bill asked him, once everyone else had retired to the sitting room.
“Of course you can,” Charlie ducked out of the way of a cupboard to allow Bill to summon a glass from it. He chuckled to himself and shook his head. “I can’t believe you’re going to be a dad.”
“Neither can I.”
“You must be so happy.”
“I am,” said Bill, still smiling. “Terrified, but happy.”
“It’ll be alright. You’ll be a great dad.”
“Thanks, Charlie.”
“I mean it,” Charlie held his hand out to Bill. “Congratulations, mate.”
The two brothers shook hands before wrapping their free arms around each other’s shoulders.
“I’m just glad you decided to come back this weekend,” Bill said. “We didn’t want some people finding out before others, and you know how hard it is to get everyone in one place when it’s not for something specific.”
“Hm, yeah.” Charlie nodded, aware that Artemis had just entered the room and pulled a face that made it hard for him not to laugh. “Tough, that.”
“I mean it, thank you. Anyway, better give this to Fleur. Sorry, Artemis, didn’t realise you were behind me.”
“Don’t worry, I’m fine.” Artemis paused before briefly hugging Bill around the waist. “Congratulations, by the way.”
She watched Bill carry Fleur’s glass out of the room, before leaning back against the kitchen table and watching the dishes wash and dry themselves at the sink.
“You didn’t fancy looking at the photos of baby Bill in the bath, then?” asked Charlie.
“Not really. I lived with him for half of last year, if I wanted to see his knob I’d have had plenty of opportunities to do so.”
Charlie laughed and used his wand to direct the clean plates into the cupboard before joining Artemis on the edge of the table.
“So much for it just being another boring, regular day at the Burrow,” she muttered quietly, rolling her eyes.
“I never said it would be boring,” replied Charlie, his voice also lowered. He sighed. “That’s the thing about big families. There’s always something going on with someone. Are you alright?”
“I’m fine.”
“Honest?”
Artemis turned her face towards Charlie, holding his gaze.
“Yeah,” she said, completely honestly. “If anything, it’s kind of funny. You had this brilliant plan set out for weeks, and Bill swoops in at the last minute with the exact same idea.”
“Well, they say great minds think alike,” Charlie grinned. “You think that’s funny, you should hear what Mum and Ginny said.”
“What was that?”
“They thought I might be bringing home a girlfriend this weekend.”
“Did they really?” Artemis smirked. “That’s brilliant. What did you say?”
“Nothing.”
“Nothing at all?”
“No, I just went like this,” Charlie held his hands up slightly and shrugged his shoulders. Artemis blinked at him. “What? It works every time.”
Artemis burst out laughing, using one hand to stifle the sound of her giggles as Charlie shushed her through his own.
“We can’t now, can we?” she whispered, once the two of them had composed themselves.
“Not really, no.”
“That would be unfair.”
“It would,” said Charlie. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. It’s just good to have you back.”
“It’s good to be back. I missed you.”
“You too.”
Charlie cast a glance over his shoulder at the door before wrapping his arm around Artemis.
“So, now what?” she asked, reaching across him to take his free hand, her fingers walking over his like the rungs of a ladder.
“We let them have their day today, and then we will just have to make a new plan so we can have our turn another day.”
“And that’s when we’ll tell them about” - Artemis’ eyes flicked from Charlie’s right hand in her lap to his left on her shoulder - “us?”
With another look back at the door, Charlie pulled her closer to him, kissed her hairline, and rested his chin on the top of her head.
“Yeah. That’s when we’ll tell them about us.”

Friends, I know that this blog has been endless Guinevere spam for like a week now. And I can’t promise that there aren’t more posts still to come, but – for the moment, there’s just one more that I want to make. It’s the best way I can think of to say goodbye to this book, to all the feelings it ignited in my heart and all the cogs it set turning in my brain. Because in the end, nothing exists in isolation, and – that goes especially for game adaptations of Britain’s most tragic legend. I present to you:
moments from Guinevere that hit different when you remember how the original folklore went

Thank you for your ask, anon my duckling! This was so nice to write, oddly enough, idk just thinking about how the vamps would positively reinforce their MC makes me so happy eee ^^
- JJ x
~~~~~~~~~~
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:
MC played the ivory keys of the piano expertly, deft fingers flitting with perfect execution across the keys without error. They grinned as their hands danced along the instrument, making beautiful music that rung gloriously around the music room and out of the ajar door and into the hallway where it caught the attention of their boyfriend who paused in his tracks to listen before stepping into the music room,
“Sonata in C is for four hands, why are you playing it alone?” Mozart’s clear voice cut through the gentle twinkling of the piano, startling MC who fumbled over the keys and pressed down haphazardly in shock, letting an unpleasant array of dissonant notes sound out. MC looked almost guilty as their genius composer of a boyfriend stared at them with a mixture of his regular cool blankness and curiosity, scrambling to pick themselves up off the piano stool as heat rose pink on their cheeks, “Don’t run away.” The vampire’s tone was beautifully commanding, making MC sit back down on the stool without a second thought, albeit their embarrassment which Mozart found rather adorable as he sat himself beside his lover. He quirked an eyebrow at the lack of sheet music on the music shelf, “Playing from memory? Impressive.”
MC averted their gaze to the piano pedals, embarrassed that their boyfriend, the Mozart, had caught them playing music that he himself had written, and fidgeted a little in their seat next to him, “I’m not as good as you.” MC’s voice was timid and quiet, their eyes tinged with sadness which made Wolfgang frown deeply and take their chin between thumb and forefinger,
“That’s not a reason to discredit yourself, Liebling. You play exceptionally.” Mozart’s violet eyes were bright with affection and truth as he smiled at his love gently before placing a soft kiss to their cheek and placing his fingers on the keys elegantly, “Now, no hiding your talents from me anymore, Liebchen. Let’s play something together.”
Isaac Newton:
Isaac frowned at the endless pool of papers on his desk and the floor surrounding him, pushing his glasses up as he examined a page of equations for seemingly the hundredth time and grumbling at his own handwriting. He didn’t bother looking up at the door when he heard a knock from the other side of the wood, “Come in.”
“I brought you your lunch, professor,” MC smiled softly as they pushed the door open with their hip, their hands both busy with holding the tray of sandwiches, rouge and tea. Isaac felt his cheeks flush with heat at the title his lover used for him, a blush that only got deeper when he glanced up to see their pretty smile.
“You know you can just call me ‘Isaac’. You’re my partner, not my student.” The physicist's tight shoulders relaxed slightly when he felt MC’s careful hands gently rubbing out the tense knots underneath his skin, and he sighed softly, “I can’t seem to get these equations to make sense. It should be simple, I just can’t work out which of these calculations is throwing it off.” Isaac handed his lover the sheet he’d been pouring over for the past few hours while he reached for one of the small bottles of rouge they’d brought for him, taking a little swig before he began to eat his lunch.
MC stared at the numbers for a minute in silence, feeling Isaac’s dusty pink eyes on their face inquisitively when they spoke, “I see what you’ve done.” They took a pen from the desk and placed the page in front of Isaac, pointing to one equation with the nib of the pen, “The square root of 1018 is 31.9031122671, you’ve just missed out a 2 here in the middle.” MC scribbled a 2 in the correct place and grinned as Isaac took the pen from their hand gently and thusly corrected the rest of the maths on the page, his eyes wide when he looked up at them in shock,
“How on earth did you spot that?” There was a upturn to the corners of his lips as MC just shrugged a little and turned to leave, but Isaac caught their wrist and pulled them into a an uncharacteristically enthusiastic hug, “Perhaps I should have you check all of my work from now on.”
Arthur Conan Doyle:
Arthur smiled softly to himself as he scanned through the scrawled little story in MC’s notebook that had been left open on his desk, his eyes bright with intrigue and curiosity as he read, “You devilish little thing, keeping your brilliance from me.” The vampire was drawn from his entrancement from MC’s story by the sound of MC themselves at door, stuttering as they dropped the basket of laundry they were carrying, “Oh, afternoon, luv.”
“Arthur, you found my book-” MC blushed deeply as they rushed over to their boyfriend and tried to pry the notebook from his hands, whining when he held it  above their head - just high enough so that they couldn’t reach it - “C’mon, give it back! Its not like its any good.”
“Are you joking, poppet? This writing is superb!” Arthur’s genuine grin faltered and fell to a frown when he noticed the sour look on his darling’s face, “D-do you not believe me?” His eyebrows curved downward in sadness and his heart beat thick with distress when he noticed the completely blue expression that MC wore, almost like they were about to cry, “MC, I’m telling the truth, this story is brilliant.” The author smiled softly at MC, pinching their cheek affectionately and breaking out into a grin when they shot him a small, sad smile back, “There’s that beautiful smile that I love.”
“I’ll never be as good as you though, Artie,” MC shrugged, sighing softly and turning to leave, frowning at Arthur when he rushed past them and closed the door, standing in the way, “Sebas will kill me if I don’t get back to work soon.”
“I think not, luv,” Arthur smirked when MC looked at him questioningly before he ushered them over to the chaise lounge only to pepper their cheeks with kisses, his grin only growing when MC began to giggle and blush, a genuine smile on their lips to replace the sad one they’d worn minutes earlier, “Now I want to hear all about your writing - no ‘ifs’, ‘ands’ or ‘buts’, alright?”
who did you romance in guinevere?
anon you're so funny, I romanced BOTH. Why choose tbh? I realized near the end that I liked both of them, and being the indecisive person I am, decided to rewrite canon and make Guinevere end up with Lancelot AND Arthur. Historians were just cowards and jealous they weren't her 🤷🏽‍♀️ Irl I would have probably chosen Arthur but yea
Your king... your husband, laughs as he leans in. A low, eager laugh that is all for you.
You grip the fabric of his clothes, pulling him closer, and as you stumble back against one of the library's shelves together, a few books tumble from their perches behind you.
He slides one leg between your thighs, the pressure making you gasp…
I commissioned @pilitella for this scene from Guinevere of Arthur and MC, and I can’t stop staring at it 😍😮‍💨 Thank you, friend! Your talent never ceases to amaze me! I love it and you so much! ❤️
. arthur x reader . entry for day 2 of 12 days of arthur .
“Is he here yet?” I murmured to myself, trying to get a good look of the crowd from backstage. I had to do my best to not be seen, but god I wished I could get a good look at everyone present. It was closing night of our show. Six days of mayhem, six days of putting myself out there for everyone to see, six days of makeup that could make my skin break out like I’d never known before, and six days of hoping he’d show up. Any show came with aggressive advertising, and practically begging my friends to come see it, usually with some success. I’d seen my friends Theo and his brother Vincent, Isaac, Sebastian (who came multiple times), Leo, Napo, and everyone else in my circle. It was validating, having people come up to me and give me a big hug, couples with choruses of “You were amazing!” and “You were my favorite character!”
But none of it really mattered if he wasn’t there.
Arthur was the one I really wanted to see in the crowd. He was someone I’d only known for a few years, but I’d developed the biggest crush on him. His accent, his kindness, his talent, and his general sharpness encapsulated me. He was the kind of guy that someone can only dream of. Like a character in a story. He wrote a lot of those, too. His stories were so vivid, with imagery that was brewed in my mind like a stew with the finest ingredients. The characters, the settings, the emotions they felt drew me in so deeply I’d lose myself in them and blur the lines in my psyche to the point where I’d forget where I was at the end. And the most amazing part: He did all this while working his way into med school.
Poor guy had been so busy the last few weeks, but he said over the course of two weeks that he’d try his best to make it. With a confident smile and a twinkle in his eye, his promises eased my heart. But as each day came and went, as I came out for every curtain call, I hadn’t seen him. His sapphire eyes, the color and shine unlike those of anyone else in the world, were nowhere to be found. His smile was not in the sea of people rewarding our efforts with a standing ovation. “Don’t worry, he’ll be there next time,” I’d keep telling myself. But every time I didn’t see him was another crack in my lovestruck hopes that he’d be there. That hurt me more than anything, as I remembered his confident words of assurance.
As I retreated from my viewpoint, I came face to face with Will, who was performing in the show with me. He had a forlorn expression, making my heart pound a little harder. What was wrong? Was a light not working? Did someone get sick?
“We have sold all the tickets,” he murmured to me, and nothing more.
Will had known of my infatuation for months now, and he knew how excited I was about the idea of Arthur bearing witness to the show we had worked so hard to put on. He’d heard every time I gushed about him, every story I’d told about him and myself, every scenario in my mind where he would react to the show in different ways. And that’s why he had such a heavy expression, that only deepened as he witnessed the tears pooling up in my eyes.
“We are? But I don’t see him!” I whispered, so as to not echo my voice into the crowd. “He’s not here! Will!” I hugged myself and looked down, trying not to mess up my makeup I’d worked so hard on. A weep escaped me, I just couldn't help it. It felt stupid, especially because my other friends already came. It felt like I was being ungrateful, but through my rationale was the flood of emotions that I’d been hiding from Arthur the whole time. If he didn’t come to the show, it was like he didn’t return my feelings. It stopped being about the show a long time ago. I knew he was probably busy, but he’d promised. He promised me a sliver of his time. Honestly if he’d just said outright that he likely wasn’t going to be able to come, I’d probably have been spared a lot of heartache.
But the reality was that seats were filled, and Arthur wasn’t one of the people filling. The show must go on.
My presence in the wings wasn’t my presence backstage. As I stood waiting for my entrance, I did everything I could to suppress my feelings. I gulped, I sighed, I shook it all out, but it only worked a little bit. If I was being honest, nothing was really going to stop how I felt, but I could stop how I presented myself. I put my brave face on, swallowed my hopeless feelings, and stepped onto the stage with all the swagger I’d possessed before.
I did one last scan of the crowd, as a Hail Mary that maybe something would work out. Maybe the stars aligned and things would go my way. He’d be there. He’d be there just like he promised.
And what I saw startled me to the extent that I almost broke character. Sitting in the front row was none other than Arthur Conan Doyle, with the most focused expression I’d ever seen him bear. He was taking in every bit of what we were doing, eyeing the intricate set and the handmade costumes from our costumer Mitsuki. This changed everything. This absolutely changed everything!
All it took was one moment for everything bad I’d ever felt to evaporate. The rejuvenation was unlike anything I’d ever felt, like I had been born again. My lines became coated with a sort of vigor I hadn’t had until that moment. They came from the chest, louder and stronger than before. My triumphs, my losses, my highest and my lowest were all more pronounced than they had ever been. All thanks to the presence of the one I cared about the most. I had to do my best for him! I just had to perform like everything was at stake!
Like every show, it had to come to an end. The cast and I came out, hand in hand, to take our final bows. Our farewell to the months we’d spent crafting a play all of us were passionate about. One last hurrah before we parted forever. And as my gaze shifted back to the crowd, I could only focus on the blue-haired man who was the first to get on his feet. His confident grin wasn’t that anymore: It was a radiant, delighted smile that reached his eyes. His beautiful, brilliant blue eyes. This was it. This was the happiest I’d ever been post-show.
“You did positively fantastic, bird!” he laughed, scooping me up in a hug once we were able to meet in the theatre lobby. “I was starting to wonder if it was truly you, you are just wonderful at playing someone wholly different! I think you’d even be able to fool me one of those days with those acting skills of yours.”
“Oh no, I’m not that good!” I replied, hugging him back with all the force my body could muster. “I think you think too highly of me.”
“Nonsense, I don’t extend that praise to just anybody. You shone so brightly, even next to your co-stars.” He pulled away to get a good look at my face. “You’re quite red. Could it be that your performance was motivated by something else? Fueled with… Hm, I can’t quite put my finger on it.”
I gulped, trying to hide the growing redness that apparently bled through my makeup. “N-no, I always perform that way! What are you trying to get at here?” Through my defense, I anticipated another teasing jab from Arthur. Was he catching on? Or worse, had he caught on long ago? Oh god, the thought was starting to make me dizzy.
“Well you were simply the best on that stage,” he hummed. “No one else had that sort of passion you did. And it was only when we made eye contact that this all seemed to kick in. It seems my presence boosted your performance. And that, coupled with your flushed little face seems to imply… love, perhaps?”
I stood, completely at a loss as to what to say. He’d cracked the case, like he always did. Digging my hole even further wasn’t going to help me in the long run. I sighed the heaviest sigh and nodded. “Yeah, maybe a little bit.”
“Just a little bit? That disappoints me. I must say that I feel very similarly about you. You’re quite cute when you’re embarrassed, you know.”
“Hey, I’m not- What?! What did you say?!”
Arthur chuckled, relaxing a bit. “I return your feelings, love. The passion you feel for me, I feel it for you too. How could I not? So you don’t have to worry. You don’t have to be embarrassed any longer. I’m truly in love with you.”
I soaked in every word he said, still wondering if I was in a dream. It seemed too good to be true. Well, whether or not I was in a dream, I knew I had to act. I stepped forward and hugged Arthur again, mashing my lips against his, to which he returned the favor.
