Anek: The Film Review

Ayushmann Khurrana in Anek Film Plot: The film's plot revolves around terrorism in the Northeast, where an agent is dispatched to carry out a mission and destroy a terrorist organization. In order to reach a peace deal with the Indian government, negotiations are also conducted with Tiger Sanga, a member of the separatist group. Will the peace deal be reached, though? Is the agent going to succeed in his mission? Will terrorist organizations surrender their weapons? You must watch the film to find out the answers to all of these questions. The film's tone and theme are reminiscent of an action thriller, with terrorism and separatism serving as its central themes. This movie aims to entertain while conveying the message that, in accordance with the Indian Constitution, everyone must sit down at a table and work out a solution to every issue; violence is never the answer. Characters and Acting: Ayushmann Khurrana's performance as Aman was merely average; he could have done something more to make the role stand out. Both Kumud Mishra, who plays Abrar's boss, and Manoj Pahwa, who plays Abrar, are also average. The characters' writing is poor. Andrea Kevichusa does a good job portraying Aido. Her first Hindi film is this one. JD Chakravarthy does a respectable job portraying Anjaiah. Direction: Anubhav Sinha is the director of this movie. Prior to this movie, he had made successful movies like Mulk (2018), Article15 (2019), and Thappad (2010), but he totally veered off course with this one. He lacks direction. He has very small power above the film. The entire movie was too much for him to handle. It had the potential to be a good movie but failed. In addition to having no head, the story moves at a very slow pace. Additionally, Anubhav Sinha's dialogue isn't particularly noteworthy. Story and Screenplay: Yash Keswani, Sima Agarwal, and Anubhav Sinha's work is incredibly poor. The movie does not resonate with the audience. Because the movie moves so slowly, viewers become impatient while watching it. Ivan Mulligan's cinematography is undoubtedly outstanding and serves as the film's unique selling point. Whether it's the use of colour, the play of light, the movement within rooms, or the exploration of various viewpoints, it is not only stunning but also incredibly powerful in every way. Some scenes are really well shot, and the aerial views are incredible. Yasha Jaidev Ramchandani's editing is terribly poor; it is inconsistent, the first half is dull, and the movie is dull in other places. Mangesh Dhakde's background score is not only incredibly amazing but also perfectly fitting to the film's mood. Moreover, it's truly breathtaking how the movie was filmed in the mountains and forests, adding to its visual appeal. However, the movie does not resonate with the audience as expected. Since the movie moves so slowly, viewers gradually become impatient while watching it. The sound design by Kaamod L. Kharade is excellent; each scene is incredibly clear. That all types of sounds, including waterfalls, birds, mountains, and forests, are audible. Lyrics and Music: The film does not make use of the songs or music, which are extremely weak. Vishaka Vijay Kullarwar's costume design is passable. Nikhil Kovale's production design strikes a balance. Action: Riyaz-Habib's and Stefan Richter's are fine. Conclusion: You can watch it once if you're patient. Climax: climax is not worth watching at all! Flaws: JD Chakravarthy's part was unnecessary, and the movie wasted him. Johnson's identity n't revealed in the movie until the very end. The movie could have shortened by removing some scenes, and the music lyrics weren't necessary. DACA Is A Human Rights Issue:

DACA approximately protects 800,000 immigrants from deportation. The anti-immigrant narrative in the United States influences the misinformation citizens have on the issue of DACA. The noticeable hate overshadows the overall good impact Dreamers have in our society. In breaking this perception, and acknowledging the overall impact of young immigrants we must analyze the evidence that is provided, and sway away from the administration’s rhetoric.

DACA recipients migrate to the United States from a variety of countries all over the world. The main three countries are Mexico, El Salvador, and Guatemala with a combining total of 591,600 Dreamers. DACA recipients are major contributors to our country according to the USCIS. In analyzing the evidence, we are able to acknowledge the financial impact of DACA recipients in American society. For example, the three main cities in which DACA recipients reside are Arizona, California, and Colorado. The financial contributions are especially seen in Arizona, leading at $371.91 million dollars. Followed by California with a $4,158 Million dollar contribution.  

Furthermore, California also has the biggest entrepreneur population for DACA recipients. There are 8,905 well-established entrepreneurs ranging from the ages 16-30. These are dreamers who own property and have stable jobs. The guidelines of being a dreamer entail that you arrived as a child to this country. In removing DACA we are depriving these individuals of belonging to a society that they have spent most of their lives in according to Article 15. This article states, “You have the right to belong to a country and nobody can prevent you, without a good reason from belonging to another country if you wish” (UDHR, Article 15).

Seperti membaca sebuah puisi kan? Sajak yang mewakili banyak orang, mendengungkan suara-suara yang lama tersembunyi atau sengaja dibekap. Itulah mengapa lagu di menit 01.56 detik itu harus dituliskan, sekaligus memberi alasan mengapa kau tak perlu tertawa saat kukatakan aku menyukai lagu India. Jangan pikir, lagu itu dinyanyikan penuh sedu sedan, penduduk desa Laalgaon mendendangkannya dengan riang dan lantang, dengan tabuhan gendang di bawah gemericik hujan. Mungkin sebuah penerimaan bahwa kemiskinan bukan untuk diratapi dan kekayaan tak selamanya bisa dirayakan.

Sebuah Jeep berwarna putih melaju dalam kecepatan sedang, melewati pohon-pohon besar, berganti tanah lapang dan eksotikme hewan peliharaan yang menyesaki jalan. Ayan Ranjana, lelaki kharismatik yang baru saja lulus dari kepolisian, ditempatkan sebagai kepala kepolisian Distrik di sebuah wilayah pedesaan di India. Perjalanannya menuju tempat tugas mulai terasa rancu ketika Chandrabhan terpaksa memberhentikan mobil di depan sebuah gerai kecil untuk membeli air minum atas perintah Ayan.

Dikirim kepada seorang perempuan, jauh di Delhi. Sepintas tak ada yang menarik dari adegan komunikasi sepasang kekasih itu. Tapi dialog demi dialog yang tersirat dalam pesan singkat menjadi semacam benang merah yang mengurai permasalahan dan solusi yang akan ditempuh Ayan sepanjang durasi. Hubungan yang sungguh cerdas dan tak biasa. Tak ada emoticon cinta-cintaan, tanpa rayu-rayu apalagi pikturisasi berlebihan mesra, tanpa itu semua!

Pagi pertama menjabat kepala kepolisian Distrik Laalgaon, Ayan disuguhi pemandangan dua jasad perempuan belia, tergantung di pohon dengan posisi leher terikat. Peristiwa sama persis yang pernah dimuat TribunJogja.com 2014 silam. Di desa Katra Shahadatganj, Distrik Badaun sebelah Uttar Pradesh India, kejadian mengerikan itu pernah benar-benar terjadi. Anak perempuan yang merupakan saudara sepupu, berusia 14 dan 16 tahun dinyatakan menghilang pada malam hari saat ke luar untuk buang air karena tak memiliki toilet di rumah.

Jenazah keduanya ditemukan sehari setelahnya, laporan pasca kematian post-mortem mengafirmasi bahwa mereka mengalami kekerasan seksual beberapa kali sebelum akhirnya meninggal karena digantung. Ayah salah seorang korban mengatakan kepada BBC news bahwa ia ditertawakan petugas polisi ketika mengetahui mereka berasal dari kasta bawah, permintaan mengusut dan pencarian anak gadis mereka yang hilang pun ditolak.

Alur dan konflik nyaris serupa digambarkan Anubhav Sinha, mengangkat realitas politik ke dalam layar. Perlindungan terhadap system mengakibatkan beberapa kasus penting tidak terpublikasi, aparat terlibat langsung mengubah fakta dan mengecoh masyarakat awam, menutupi kebusukan demi kehormatan dan seterusnya dan seterusnya.

Jika biasanya menonton genre thriller criminal membikin kepala berdenyut 'acha-acha'😂 Ayushmann Khurrana ditopang dialog-dialog padat dan berwawasan, pembawaan karakter keseluruhan pemain yang natural dengan porsi terukur, Kumud Mishra, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Ronjini Chakraborty serta kesedihan dalam mata Sayani Gupta (baca : Gaura) berhasil mencegahku tertidur sebelum interval.

Ide cerita berkembang. Film yang juga dibintangi Isha Talwar sebagai Aditi, perempuan yang kerap berkomunikasi via telepon dengan Ayan itu mengisahkan, ada seorang gadis lagi bernama Pooja yang tak lain adik dari Gaura, masih dinyatakan menghilang setelah kedua teman sebayanya ditemukan tewas. Proses pencarian Pooja kemudian menjadi rentetan peristiwa hingga ending, disisipi scene-scene penggambaran perbedaan kasta yang telah dibangun sejak awal. Article 15 mungkin memang digarap khusus untuk berbicara tentang diskriminasi ras, mengubah mindset bahwa membedakan dan kekejaman kasta yang dianggap lumrah dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakat tertentu adalah hal yang tidak berkeprimanusiaan. Saya teringat sebuah kelakar.

"Seharusnya kau belajar dan mewarisi akhlak baik moyangmu, bukan malah bangga atas darahnya yang mengalir di tubuhmu"

Wajar saja ketika tak menemukan adegan kejar-kejaran gesit antar pihak kepolisian dan penjahat atau tak ada tendangan maut pelipis berdarah Ayan Ranjana dalam mode lambat. Menelusuri bentangan 'rawa babi' yang berlumpur demi mencapai hutan dalam upaya menemukan Pooja adalah adegan fisik paling heroik yang dilakoni Ayushmann Khurrana sepanjang 130 menit.

Tentang cinematografi, penyelesaian konflik, lelah karena fokus yang tinggi saat menonton, desain setting yang beberapa terasa tak jujur, tempo yang terasa lambat atau hal-hal kecil semacam celana para pemain yang tetiba tersulap bersih beberapa saat setelah berjalan dalam lumpur. Terlepas dari semua itu, Article 15 dengan gagah berani menyebut larangan diskriminasi terhadap ras, ketidaadilan perihal kasta, jenis kelamin dan manusia. Saya tak akan berkoar-koar laiknya pakar membedah keunggulan dan kekurangan, atau netizen maha sempurna yang selalu benar akan pandangannya, bukan juga fans fanatik Ayushmann Khurrana (tak bisa dipungkiri aktor teater itu cukup beruntung memilih film belakangan ini. Tetap nyinyir, eeaaakk hehe) Tapi dialog berikut boleh jadi punya andil, sekadar mengigatkan bahwa pelaku diskriminasi dan tindak ketidakadilan mungkin saja bukan hanya ada dalam skenario!

"...kita suruh mereka mengerjakan hal-hal yang kita sendiri tak ingin melakukannya. Kita tahu, melihat itu setiap hari, tapi kita mengabaikannya... "
