if you know me, youd know that when i start a new craft i wanna do the hardest thing possible as my first project. that bot was not hard enough lol if youve been following me for a bit you'd know that ive been writing a book for like a few months. im not a super great book writer esp with my dyslexia, though i can come up with a good story and im an artist as well as my boyfriend.

im making a game. a horror game to tell my story. not no jumpscare shit, psychological horror like my book. this is way better than a book, cause then you can truly experience what rain, dawn, skye, and everyone else i havent talk about on here goes through. i think you guys will like it.

For Alien Crossfire, can you wrap it up by talking about the Manifold Usurpers and Caretakers?

The Progenitors are the biggest and most radical factions in Alien Crossfire, which is certainly saying something if you've read my essays on the other factions. These two aliens are incredibly advanced, to the point of being extremely unbalanced. That's actually a bit of a problem - they're too unbalanced to play in multiplayer and they make the game very easy when playing in single-player due to the limited AI. But if you scratch away the gameplay and focus on the lore, you have two factions wrapped around a single event - the Tau Ceti Flowering.

“The fungus has been Planet’s dominant lifeform since about the time of the Lower Paleozoic on Earth. But when, once every hundred million years or so, the neural net at last achieves the critical mass necessary to become sentient, the final metamorphosis kills off most of the other life on the planet. It is possible that we humans can help to break this tragic cycle.” -Lady Deidre Skye, Planet Dreams

The transcendence victory in Alpha Centauri is one of the longer ones to complete, requiring extensive science to reach near to the end of the tech tree and enough industry to beat out other players in response. However, the payoff is one of the most powerful - uploading humanity into the neural net of Planet, merging humanity with this consciousness to become a new being, which can conceivably be thought of as a god given its intelligence, power, and capabilities. This happened on Tau Ceti, an event that the Progenitors call the Flowering. The Caretakers saw this and were horrified, and sought to stop it from happening again, while the Usurpers saw it as a means to grow into godhood, and so sought to exploit it for their own gain. In the skies above Planet (which the Progenitors call Manifold Six), the two engaged in a fierce battle, and their fleets were destroyed. The aliens land on this world hoping to destroy the other faction and summon reinforcements using subspace beacons to acquire reinforcements, enough to scour the paltry survivors and the scattered humans from the surface of Manifold Six and accomplish their faction's goals (or in the Usurper's case, they can simply initiate the Ascent to Transcendence themselves).

The Progenitor race appears to sense, and possibly even manipulate, local fields an untrained human cannot perceive without mechanical aid, including at the very least electricity and magnetism. This sensitivity creates entirely new worlds of artistic endeavors for the race-or it may be developed into a powerful combat awareness that can foil any attempt at surprise. -Prime Function Aki Zeta-Five, Alien Analysis

However, these Progenitors are not simply technologically advanced humans - the Progenitors are alien in many ways. Not simply in biology, they actually appear to be bipedal with multiple eyes for binocular vision. The Progenitors can manipulate electricity and magnetism to great effect, sensing perturbations to avoid ambushes (giving the Caretakers their 25% defense buff) or creating shadow regiments to supplement their attacks (the Usurpers get a 25% attack buff). Later technologies are even more impressive, using multiversal manipulation for space compression, but this is arguably less radical (as late-game human technology in Alpha Centauri are likewise extend to quantum and temporal fluctuation). Their speech is also strange, they use this resonance to alter sounds around them to transmit messages. This gives a strange speech pattern of a subject : object grammar when speaking with humans, a pattern that is not shared when Progenitors speak to each other. This can actually cause misunderstandings when using the communication function, since if you cannot parse the grammar correctly (and are unfamiliar with the UI), you can accidentally say something you didn't mean to say. This is reflected in game as well, as Cha Dawn references Kri'lan the Betrayer, who taught him the resonance.

The large crests, wide eye placement, mostly superfluous tusks (they don't protrude far enough to be used as weapons) and bright coloration of the Progenitors leads me to think that they are a herbivorous species. The crests appear to be dominance displays, with ornamentation meant to reflect the authority of the individual. While the Progenitors are certainly not eusocial, they do appear to be far more of a hierarchal species given their physical characterization and AI preference for planned economics. This would explain why taking over the other faction's bases do not see a wholesale extermination of the population, most Progenitors are probably drones who follow the leader, though this might just be a function of limited game programming.

The Progenitors are advanced beings, and even the relatively cuddly Caretakers treat humans as barely more intelligent than monkeys. Their AI (particularly the Usurpers) makes frequent demands of tech and credits, often as tribute instead of trades, and attacks aggressively when refused. The Progenitors also don't mind atrocities and commit them on humans with abandon, and the humans reciprocate in turn (unless you the player decide not to). They cannot accept human leadership and so a diplomatic victory cannot be achieved if any Progenitor faction is still alive.

Unlike the other factions (except the pirates), the Progenitors have no restrictions in social choices and so can act with great flexibility. The human factions are based around a particular idea or ethos, from Morgan's hypercapitalism to Santiago's spartan militarism. The Progenitors' guiding philosophy relates to what to do with Planet itself, which makes them far more similar to the Free Drones or Cybernetic Consciousness, who look to the future society rather than the present. With a Progenitor empire already established, the Progenitors don't see being on Manifold Six as a new beginning for the last remnants of humanity but rather as an unfortunate period of extended isolation from the main body of Progenitors due to war and resource limitation. So a Progenitor base is run much like a forward command base, with resources strictly rationed and limited and schedules strictly controlled, even well after the first bases are established.

While the other factions have rich lore, the Progenitors largely are just a small piece of an expansion pack, and I don't have as much to say about them as a result.

“Needless to say, I keep her in check—”

With her ponytail swaying to the bop of her head and the rhythmic taps of her hands, Jett couldn’t be seen or heard in a better mood. Why, you ask? The day had come to a close with a successful mission, and she had beaten Phoenix again in the little competitions that they held whenever they went out on duty together. Automatically that was a win, but right now she considered her serotonin level to be full on skyrocketing, because who doesn’t like a little bit of spidey-action?

And anyone who didn’t live under a rock knew that listening to some smooth tunes at the end of the day was the key to success. Which is why Jett was standing in the middle of her bathroom, AirPods (or whatever they use nowadays) in and a face mask dawning her cheeks. Strands of damp hair clung to the sides of her face while she -

“—she was a bad-bad nevertheless!”

- aggressively sang her heart out. Who didn’t do this, really, when it came to your favorite songs? Today wasn’t a day for BIBI nor Jennie, even though they were high up on her list of artists, because she didn’t really want to feel like a bad bitch. No, right now it was just her and the vibes. This whole thing had actually become routine to the agent ever since she had discovered the glory of older rap artists.

As the music continued to play, the Korean, ahem, ‘popped off’. Her throat ached from stretching her range to fit the notes, but now was not the time for her to be concerned about how damaged her vocal chords were and her incorrect vocal techniques. Instead, Jett naturally shimmied out of the bathroom, entranced as she went about de-stressing and getting ready for bed. Organizing this surface here, picking up her spare clothes there, it was all done in a smooth and bouncy movement.

The song was edging towards it’s finish when Jett stepped back into the bathroom, beginning to peel the face mask off of her face when a voice called out:

“Woah! You’ve got quite the chords, ‘eh, Jett?”

Unlike her delicate hand motions used to peel the mask off of her face, the woman’s wrists shot out and instantly flung the skincare product into the mirror and formed a wet, sloppy mess on the reflective surface. That wasn’t her only reaction, to Skye's amusement, as the agent now found herself hovering in the air with her back against the ceiling in a quite literal fight-or-flight moment.

“What the fuck!” Jett cursed, expression turned scowling when she noticed the Australian keeled over and laughing at her doorway.

Skye stood up after a good minute, knuckles wiping at the edges of her eyes. “I said I was coming in, and you didn’t answer. Don’t worry, love, I didn’ even notice ‘till I walked in!”

The woman’s frown deepened even further, eyebrows creased as she slowly lowered herself back onto the floor in a practiced motion with her hands wound tightly at her sides.

“That doesn’t change anything about it at all! Ah-ssibal, I didn’t mean for you to see that. You— what do you want from me?”

Shaking her head, Skye gave Jett a teasing look. It didn’t seem like the other woman wanted to get over seeing the duelist in such a ‘compromising’ position anytime soon, as distressed as Jett was. But unlike what she had been expecting, the healer leaned up against the doorway, making the Korean notice the bag in her arms.

“Well, you know how it is. There was a bit of ah’.. mix up, sort of, and I ended up with some of your clothing. Came here to give it to you but it appears that you are…”

The Australian’s gaze peered at the duelist, glinting with mirth.

Oh, how Jett would never be able to describe the fight she had with herself to rip that look off of Skye’s face without being arrested.

“..busy. So, I’m going to leave these here and let you be on your merry way, ‘yeah?”

Still skeptical, Jett’s eyes narrowed at the loot Skye brought with her. It smelled surprisingly strong - like cologne - and much deeper than what Jett would have expected from her colleague. But she could recognize the scent from the few times that they had brushed past each other in the hallways, so she supposed that that was an acceptable excuse.

Snatching it out of the Aussie’s grip, Jett’s lips lessened into more of a small grimace. Skye was acting rudely content by standing there and just watching her, and she was getting a little uncomfortable with the tension that coiled between them.

(It wasn’t because of the tank top that the Australian was wearing, exposing each and every scar and ripple of muscle beneath her already revealing uniform. No way.)

The white-haired assassin cracked first. “Okay. Shoo. You can go now.. creep.”

A chuckle of disbelief came out of the agent, but she gave Jett a sly wink before sauntering off to the exit of the room. Jett’s shoulders untensed, finally being given the alone time that she had craved since she had started talking to Skye.

“‘Ay, by the way?”

Jett’s head snapped up, making contact with the mischievous smirk on the Australian’s face.

“You should join me for a duet some day, Joon-hee!”

Promptly flipping her off, Jett watched as the woman cackled down the hallway, leaving her all by herself in the middle of the bathroom. Her fingers undid the tie around the bag in her hands, unraveling to reveal.. a few of her spare shirts.

And her underwear.

Fitzsimmons Family Headcanons in case canon fails me

And before they destroy them. Buckle up.

(I wrote this in less than an hour and english is not my first language, sooo sorry for any mistakes)

They finally decide to retire to their cottage.

Daisy and May lived with them for a while but at different times. Daisy around the time their first kid was born and May when the youngest was a kid already.

May and Daisy totally live together in the USA.

Fitzsimmons started a biomedical company, they make prostetics and medical supplies. They fund small researchers and become relatively known in the medical field (under aliases of course). They run their company from their home as much as they can.

Deke got bored of his company, so he eventually fused it with FS’s, he has enough money to travel around the world and be whatever he wants. Once was a TV chef, and he got bored and became a travel blogger, then launched a clothing line so it goes…

Tried to convince the team to turn their story into a broadway musical. They all said no. He brings it up everytime they are all together (you never know)

Fitzsimmons have three kids, they were all planned ;) of course

Daisy teases Fitz about how the three of them look like Jemma. “You are adopted”. the son is the only one who kinda looks like him. Fitz doesn’ t mind.

After the kids go their own ways they leave together again.

Have their own quinjet in case of emergencies, they say. Let’s be honest after years of flying with SHIELD, commercial flights lost their charm.

Look retired Fitzsimmons would be that kind of couple who travels the world together (properly this time), they say the quinjet is to visit their friends and Family around the world but would randomly send pictures of them in front of a famous landmark.

Mackenzie Skye Fitzsimmons (Daisy calls her Kye) (Born around 2021) (Quarantine baby) or (Timetravel baby)

They never asked Deke about their daughter’s name in the original timeline, but once they told him, judging by his reaction they knew it was this. (but in the lighthouse timeline her nickname was Kenzie)

Fitz was really adamant on this name, Jemma thought it was cute and a great way to honor their best friends, but years later he told the kid:

“you were named after two of the bravest persons I’ve ever met”.

Jemma just stared into the space as it dawned on her that her husband was really an idiot.

He winked at her and she forgave him. Eventually.

When she was a toddler Fitzsimmons moved back to the city and left their cottage, they wanted their daughter to have the best education and also didn’t want to wake her up early because the closest school was still an hour away.

Around that time Daisy found Bobbi, they met up, and Bobbi introduced her to her baby son Owen. 

“oh my god. I need to call Fitzsimmons” 

“what” 

“shhhh. wait, it’s connecting... Hey guys! Look who is here! Bobbi and her baby Owen Shaw” 

Fitz spits his tea all over his phone. Bobbi doesn’t know what’s going on, and they eventually explain it to her, well, after Daisy stops laughing and Fitz stops coughing.

Bobbi and Hunter had changed names and moved to England. After learning that Fitzsimmons live nearby, they make plans to see each other as much as they can. Look this is my headcanon AU so Fitzsimmons offer them positions in their company, Bobbi in the lab and Hunter in a made up security position that doesn’t fit his nametag. 

Some weekends Fitz and Hunter take the babies to the park together, while Jemma and Bobbi work or hang out together. One day kye and Owen were playing and Owen proudly declared he was going to be an astronaut. Fitz was like “you and your son are the bane of my existence”.

The kids become best friends. Duh 

BUT this is Bobbi and Hunter we are talking about, they’re nomads so they eventually move out around Europe and America, when the kid started high school they agreed to stay in one place.

Anyways,

Amazing kid, took a while for her parents to figure out the whole parenting thing but she was so great, as long as things went her way.

Fitz can’t say no to her. A dog? We’ll manage. Ice cream for breakfast? c’mon you know how convincing she can be. 

She is a really calm kid, well behaved. Responsible older sister, mom friend, but messy af. “look mom, I have a system and I know where everything is”.

Nicest kid you’ll ever meet, but if you mess with her siblings be careful, you never know if you will find trash in your backpack.

She is an MD. Eventually, her parents moved back to the countryside but she stayed in the city with her sister to finish her education.

Makes friends everywhere she goes.

She and Owen started dating in their teens but were on and off several times, they even briefly dated other people because one of them would get scared of things becoming too serious (even more when they learned that Uncle Deke was genetically their son). 

In their late twenties they decided to get married as a compromise to stay together and work things out, after all, some things are inevitable.

They had two kids: Daniel Shaw (Deke, but They wanted him to be his own person so they changed the name), Gabrielle Shaw (Born as Oliver Shaw)

Owen worked for a while for SWORD. Eventually decide to move to Germany to work as researchers.

Margaret Abigail Fitzsimmons (Maggie) (Born 2025)

The odd one. Grew up to be a successful artist. Really independent as a child, could play hours by herself or caually chill around her parents or her brother’s crib.

Despite being the only one in her family who isn’t into science, she loves doing experiments all the time, in the name of aesthetic. One time turned the dog blue. There’s a fire extinguisher in the living room just because of her. Banned from her parents’ lab “Pretty colors can go boom”. Aparently.

After being constantly told she is diferent from the rest of her family, she feels happy when someone tells her she looks like her mom. She scoffs but she doesn’t really mind.

Acts though but is a softie, vegan, activist, animal lover. Loves to tease everyone, prankster, makes fun of her mom but it’s the first person she thinks of when something troubles her. Late night calls are not unheard of.

Can’t commit to a single hobby. Photography, cooking, volunteer work... name something, and she has probably already tried it.

Really close to Deke, sometimes travels with him. They are kindred spirits. Feel like only them understand the need to explore and try new things.

She grew up to resent shield. Look she loves what her parents and their friends did, but hates how it affected them. Forgive and forget? in this economy?? 

Lives in Paris by herself but somehow always manages to get everyone to come to her art exhibits. You won’t be able to stop her once she sets her mind to something. Stubborn as her dad.

Doesn’t want kids, maybe one day if she feels ready she will adopt but she is happy as an aunt.

Matthew Phillip Fitzsimmons (Matthew) (Born 2030)

Ray of sunshine, Momma’s boy. He loves it when his parents take him to their lab. Ever since he could walk he is always following his sisters around, if they are up to something he is the first one to know. They love to tease him, but he has enough blackmail material to get them to shut up. He would never use it tho.

Computer genius. He has his own video game company. Launched his first video game at 16. Fitz is mildly offended he sees the Framework code as “old stuff”.

He is a sweetheart, adores his parents and calls them every single day. He met his wife in college and has been happy ever since. It was fast and passionate, they got married within a year and a few years later they had a baby. 

Truly an example of living fast. 

Melissa Fitzsimmons (his daughter) a sweetheart, may is her godmother. (The babies’ baby’s baby, i cry). The cousins are thick as thieves. 

May loves the kid, “age is making you softer”, Daisy tells her and laughs, May’s glare while holding a baby is too much for her.

Emma Johnson (born 2029) (the honorary fourth kid)

Daisy’s daughter. Jemma cried when she told her the baby’s name. She wanted May and Jemma in the delivering room with her. 

I can see Daisy being a badass single mother but I also see her finding love, I haven’t made up my mind but I think she will be loved either way.

Only child, so loves to hang out with the FS kids.

She and Matthew are best friends since they were little, even having video calls when they couldn’t see each other in person.

Fitz and Daisy had a bet on whether they would get together, but it was called off when it became apparent Emma wasn’t interested in men altogether. She was the first woman in his wedding.

The “Quake” legacy was too much for her so she decided to focus in something different. Currently works as an architect and on her spare time works as a freelance illustrator.

All I can imagine is a scene where the are all together in a field (probably the same one where they buried Coulson and Loop!Fitz) May, Fitzsimmons and Daisy. They try to meet up there at least once a year to chat and reminisce about old times, sometimes with Deke, Mack and Elena (and their twin boys) or just them. 

Their kids are playing while their parents watch, but May’s watching them, with their backs to her they almost look like the kids she met in the bus all those years ago. Coulson would’ve been so proud, this is the future we were fighting for all along, she thinks.

“You did good”.

Daisy turns around with a soft smile on her face and says “yes, we did.”

Geneva reminds one of the first glimmer of sunlight after a starless night. Or a literal breath of fresh air. There’s a captivating sense about her. A proper child of Dawn, Geneva’s more inclined to relate to the arts. While her siblings and friends felt drawn to painting, music or literature - she hearkened the call of fashion. Specifically, the thin grasps of ideals and designs that ultimately culminated in its creation. As the youngest child of an adept merchant and negotiator, Geneva’s interest in design and fashion were indulged. Even encouraged.

BIOGRAPHY

Geneva carried the two names of her family out of pride, love and respect. Her mother, Celestia Tulloch was a high fae from an old family within dawn. Not one for politics - instead the Tulloch clan were known for the artists they produced. Of which, Celestia continued the tradition. It was how she met Lorenzo D’Amati, Geneva’s father, an immensely charming lesser fae merchant whose nature aided greatly in his success. Born and raised in Dawn Court, Geneva understood complex ideas as simple. Such as the ease and normality upon which her parents open marriage was presented. While Celestia and Enzo were in love - it did not hinder the couple from indulging in others. From time to time. Which was why Geneva gave no merit to the whispers she’d hear when her appearance was compared to Enzo’s. Or better yet, the older siblings that her parents had before her. Not that children born of their parents’ lovers were taboo. They were not. At least in Geneva’s experience.

Geneva only heeded the rumors when her magic of daydreaming and dream walking failed to reveal itself. The young fae’s wings and heart matched her home court. But appeared that her magic did not. It was a worrisome time. Geneva being unable to fully feel a part of her home. The choice to blend in and join her friends in developing and progressing their illusory magic did not exist. The rite of passage to dream walk with her friends eluded her. And the magic of her siblings, of her mother and ancestors, it seemed had denied her. Truly, Geneva felt like an imposter. A high fae without magic was well... essentially human. Regardless of the wings. It was during that time that Geneva designed more, created more pieces of fashions, in an effort to make sense of her life. To be able to understand something. From this, the idea for the D’Amati House of Fashion arose.

Until the shadows began to move. Literally. From her own imagination, Geneva fashioned dark creatures at night. While she was born and raised in dawn, it seemed that she was a child of night. Only when both Celestia and Lorenzo sat Geneva down did she learn the nature of her father. ...Not Enzo. Another high fae from night court. While the animosity between their courts crest and waned, it seemed the passions between that of Celestia and her un-named lover from night court had not. And thus, Geneva was made. The news was surprising. Even moreso when Geneva learned that she could not learn the name of her father. As it was not time. A private tutor was sent for and secretly, Geneva learned how to develop her magic.

For a time, it seemed that was all that encompassed her life. Fashion and magic. The two hand in hand. One embraced in the light, the other hidden away in the night. Finally, Geneva was given his name. Better yet, Celestia dream walked with Geneva. Something her mother had done times before. But it was different, that time. She revealed his face to Geneva, sparkling blue eyes that she’d recognize anywhere for they were her own. ‘You’ve always asked why I called you, Skye.’ Celestia shared. ‘The answer to your question is tri-fold. One is what you’ve always heard, that you are my little sky. Two, that your eyes match its color. And the third is that your eyes are his.’ Unbeknownst to Geneva, that would be the last time she dream walked with Celestia. The highfae had grown ill and, finally at peace with whatever awaited her, Celestia shared one final truth with Geneva. Her father’s name. She wanted her daughter to have all the love available to her from those that could give it. It was why she waited so long, Geneva learned. The timing, according to Celestia, had not been right. But now was. It seemed the young fae had another father to find. Or... rather to learn.

☁️Liminal Zones: Thresholds Between Worlds ☁️

🌈 The slice of seacoast between low and high tides, the deepening foliage between field and forest, the sloping land between plain and mountain- these in- between places are known as liminal zones. Dawn and dusk, the times between day and night, fall into this category too. Neither wholly one thing nor the other, they serve as bridges that lead from one realm into another. Because of their transient nature, their ambiguity, and their sense of mystery, liminal zones are often the best places to meet fairies and to experience magic.

🌈 In ancient times, fairy doors were portals between the realm of the fairies and the human world. Most of the time, mortals are denied access to fairyland. But at certain times of the year, people could catch a glimpse of the spirit world through these openings. A fairy door might resemble a pathway through heavily wooded area, a narrow entrance into a cave, a gap in a stone wall, or a knothole in an ancient tree. Shamanic journeys sometimes begin with entering portals such as these in order to visit unseen worlds.

Ann Arbor’s Fairy Doors:

🌈 In April 2005 , an architectural anomaly - a miniature door- mysteriously showed up near the entrance of a coffee shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan . Over the next year and a half, nine more little doors- dubbed “fairy doors” materialized at various locations throughout the city. These handsome entryways, usually no more than a foot high, are believed to have been created by artist and children’s book author Jonathan B. Wright, perhaps as a way to alert humans to the presence of fairies in urban environments or to give urban fairies access to art galleries , boutiques, and other interesting places throughout the city. Since that time, some of the establishments have closed and the fairy doors have disappeared as well. But that doesn’t mean they’re gone for good- who knows when another fairy door might appear. perhaps in a location near you.
