Read the story about how moving cities had an impact on my creative path and swipe to see my first studio space, my first apartment and some of my first sketches. I often get the question: do you think Berlin was instrumental in your path as a lettering artist? Moving to Berlin was triggering in my decision to change gears in my career (I was previously a graphic designer) and start my own lettering business. Although I think there’s nothing intrinsically to Berlin that set me for success, being new to the city allowed me to reinvent myself and and gave me the extra push to give it all. I had to: ✔️make new friends ✔️find a new place to live ✔️learn a new language Therefore taking the leap of going solo and shifting direction in my work seemed *just* like one more thing among all those✔️ I thank to Berlin for being the place where I got to do such a transcendental change in my life, and I’ll always be grateful to the typographic community that welcomed me and made friends with me. Who would I be if I hadn’t experienced abuse, sexual assaults, bullying, rapes, my trauma? Is a question I’ve asked myself often throughout my life.

But recently this question has changed. I wonder now, who I would be if I hadn’t decided to start paining women who were survivors, survivors of domestic abuse, survivors of assaults, survivors of rape, survivors of sexual abuse. Listening to their stories, visualizing each immerging from a cave of despair and darkness. I paint their bodies in the colors that I see in my minds of the emotions, expression, energy and strength I feel as I hear each story as I see each women stand before me without any covering, naked, bare and raw. I have seen and experienced their hunger as they hope to claim their autonomy, their light, their pleasure and joy back.  The paintings I create breath light into the darkest parts of each women’s life. But more than that, each and every painting, each and every story that I hear and hold space for breaths light into my own darkest moments. I am compelled to paint women who are healing from horrific deeds because I KNOW that seeing themselves as art has the capability to alter how they physically see themselves for the rest of their lives. How they can take back their own autonomy, their own pleasure for themselves. That when they stand in front of me naked sharing their truths. Their stories and body create words and energy that I weave together to create a pathway to healing and magic that nothing else can. Not because I am exceptional but because each of our survival stories builds something within us. Without this work, I wouldn’t have found looking at my shadows, I wouldn’t have found some of closest friends. I wouldn’t have created opportunity after opportunity for myself. I wouldn’t have fought for my work, for me to be seen. To play with edges I never knew could exist for me. Every brush stroke, every women I hold space for, breaths LIFE, breathes LIVING into my own life, and hopefully theirs too.

What am I drawing? 👩🏻‍🎨 I like to draw animals, I like to paint landscapes and abstractions. I very rarely draw people because the least of all they interest me as objects for the image in the picture. Animals are wise and spiritualized in my opinion, as a child I analyzed their behavior a lot in order to learn lessons for myself. 🐮 I especially like cows and birds. The cows look very generous, kind and peaceful, as well as calm. I myself want to have these qualities, so I admire them. They are very attractive to me for their shapes, horns and mood.🐄 🐤Birds, especially fabulous Seraphim, Swans, Little Swifts and similar ones. Probably, I just love to draw wings 😆But I am also fascinated by the shapes of their bodies. Neck, back, tail, and all parts are very elegant, sophisticated and beautiful. 🦩Nature is a miracle of beauty! And if such beautiful creatures also fly - this is fantastic!🦅 🏞 I like plein airs because they are fast and you can try a lot of new techniques and performances. The most beautiful thing that I painted in the open air is temples, cathedrals and nature. But mostly I have it some kind of building surrounded by nature or urban environment. Hopefully in the future I will start painting more nature on plein air .🖼 🔳Abstraction is a new kind of creativity for me. But it seems that I gravitate towards her. This is not at all what I was taught in art academies. It is necessary to think and express thoughts in a completely different way. I want to master it further. Although the possible just binary ‚ CL / KL ‚ Konnotations suggesting there are persons with clitorises being involved, can be read as the very opposite from a willing/ triggered by him/ her self, or outside source perion at a Lgbtq frequency. Due the world ‚ Claus ‚. The world ‚ claus ‚ with in German language can be although interpretated as steal it, take it, have it, nick it, thief it, etc. like the women, some women should go steal, Claus it? Or the artwatching person is moving away from women/ a binary lifestyle? Or the artviewer moves towards a binary lifestyle? Maybe leaving his rotations, being glued to a single women, marrying her? Or the artowning person is so alpha, that the women with in the social circle are sharing him? The painting maybe reflecting the lifestyle situation having children with multiple women? My work this week - a collection of hand engraved Haida jewellery. I started engraving when I was about 12 years old. I started woth wood and argellite but soon discovered my passion for working with silver and especially gold.
