i know a lot of people think jess just likes to antagonize dean for the sake of antagonizing him but in a scene like there's the rub where he just keeps talking it's so clear he's trying to divert dean's anger towards himself to protect rory (which makes you wonder if that's something he's done in the past) and like obviously it didn't work bc he did in fact start screaming at rory the second jess was gone but it's just like the way he's talking in that scene it's very much what he does when he's trying to distract someone even if it's not from their anger, maybe for a conversation he's trying to avoid, whatever it may be, like it just isn't so simple as trying to piss people off (though that may be an effect anyway) but to defuse a tense situation and i just think it's a v interesting aspect of his character

Pen doddles of Sanji, Ichiji and his other brothers and random au ideas that pop into my mind.

First page a Pokemon au. The more I learn about Sanji and his disaster family. The more it make me think the Eeveelution line is perfect for all the siblings. Think about it Eevee has unstable genes, can evolve into multiple types like how the Vinsmokes have cotton candy hair and kinda unstable given you know there asshat of a father used them like lab rats hmm 🤔. I picture Ichiji with Espeon and Sanji with Flareon because sun and flame, I love a good parallel. :3 also Reiju Sylveon, Niji Jolteon and Yonji Leafeon.

Second page I got this idea inspired by a post by https crepes-suzette-373 who had theory on the idea of Sanji possibly having Kitsune heritage in his family and it got my brain cooking up an idea. Did little bit of research on kitsune lore and found out some stronger types are white, gold or black which got me thinking Ichiji has a white theme going on in his design and Sanji has a black theme. So I thought what if Sora secretly a white kitsune and two of children turn out to have inherited her kitsune side.

That’s all I got so far but I like idea of perhaps Sanji thinking he only one with kitsune powers because Ichiji is hiding his kitsune side and In whole cake Sanji see a white fox and thinks of mother when it just Ichiji wondering about at night unbeknownst to Sanji. Why is Ichiji a white fox like his mum because I thought it be cute for him to take after his mum colours. Also I love parallels cannot forget that.

kuina (weapon)'s frustration stemming from the idea that weapons need miesters to become deathsythe's (let's pretend Justin law doesn't exist) and that weapons have to live in submission to miesters by koshiro (miester, maybe his wife/her mom was a weapon...). so Zoro and Kuina's promise is to become the first independent deathsythe to prove that it is possible. and Zoro's 'my ambition means nothing is I can't protect my captain' moment is accepting Luffy as his miester and preforming their first soul resonance.

as i sit here with nothing better to do, i’ve been thinking about this ask and the complex layers to the beautiful loft scene, and i feel like i could write an essay about these two men and how they’ve come to know and love each other through everything, and how they’ve become each other’s support systems, lifelines, what have you. but instead i’m just stuck on these parallels, and i’m not quite sure what to do with them.

kinda want izzy to absolutely decimate stede at chess and I can't explain why

#ofmd #stizzy #izzy hands #stede bonnet #like... maybe stede is teaching ed because he wants to have someone to play against and ed is trying his best to learn #and brilliant tactician that he is ed of course can understand the game and the rules very well that's not even remotely the issue #it's just that... well the game is about strategy and planning and anticipating your opponent's moves and ultimately overpowering them #and that's quite like pirating now isn't it except these are tiny wooden pieces on the board and ed is just used to this kind of strategic #planning on a much larger and livelier level with higher stakes and with the added element of human unpredictability and never quite #knowing what rules someone else is playing by. so he does learn and he plays okay but tends to lose focus somewhere in the first ten turns #so one day they're trying to get through a full game and izzy is sitting off to the side watching them play and ed is kind of trying but his #mind is already wandering elsewhere and he makes frankly ridiculously bad move and izzy is just like 'wait' then sighs walks over to them #and puts the piece back and makes a different move instead saying 'do this instead' and ed's face is just like ??? confused betrayal because #why and how did he not know izzy could play chess?? and stede's eyes of course fill with excitement at the thrill of a new opponent and also #because he's been taking it easy on ed while he gets the hang of the game but is actually rather skilled at chess and would love to impress #with his skills even if the only person who would truly get the brilliance is izzy (and stede admits to himself that izzy does know what #he's doing given that the move he corrected for ed is exactly what he would have done)#so anyway stede does his whole big eyes hopeful voice *vague gestures* thing and is like 'oh you play? care for a game?' and izzy stares #him down for what feels like forever but is actually about 8 seconds before saying 'one. one game' so they reset the board and it's only #fair for stede to let izzy go first but for izzy's first turn instead of moving a piece he rotates the whole board so the white pieces are #in front of stede and says 'i don't think so. not letting you have the excuse to say i only won because i went first' and stede #is a little taken aback but you know what? challenge accepted. game on #it's about twenty turns in when stede starts getting nervous that izzy does in fact know his shit and another ten turns later when he #realizes he may be in over his head #and while it isn't a carelessly simple defeat izzy does end up beating stede #and isn't there just something so satisfying about being the cause of stede making the displeased but invigorated expression he's wearing #(do i have any clue how izzy became a chess genius? no but we can speculate. maybe he played regularly with someone on a ship growing up bc #it was a good way to pass the downtime in an entertaining way without having to talk much at all. or maybe he learned as a child and was #required to keep strict hours of practice so because really good but kind of resented it so maybe this is the most he's ever enjoyed playing #or maybe he was watching as stede taught ed to play and just picked up on some of stede's strategies and/or snuck one of his chess books out

Simply because I know I haven't updated on any of my Cod stuff in like 25 years. This is my current thought process on what can be expected from me :D

Primis/ Ultimis:

I plan to have two set ocs for this group. One of which naturally is Ferris, the other OC I am working on is going to be a female, but past that I have not actually started development on her so pray for me. I also hope to start working on secondary characters important to these stories, such as Ferris' adoptive father, as well as her husband and daughter for an "Everything is fine" AU.

Motd/ SOE:

As I have stated multiple times before, I will not be continuing my mob work publicly at all. I will have characters in relation to the motd crew, such as I am keeping my Angelina Bow as a SOE character, as well as I do have a mob OC relative to my "Everything is fine" AU, but he will never be drawn in tow with the other four, and if I reference his time in Alcatraz, it will likely only be from outsider POVs as I just don't feel comfortable sharing the mob crew anymore, including him.

But again, Angelina Bow will be fleshed out as a full SOE character along with her daughter (Who is NOT Finn's child, but is actually the child of my mob oc lmao. Once again only canon in my AU.) As well as Relle to be the secondary OC here as she was planned to be from the start.

#hi I just woke up and my blankets are so soft and it's the perfect temperature as well and I have so much work that needs to be done #it's a cruel world #I've also lost all concept of time and barely know what day it is but whatever #maybe.... another 20 minutes... what's the worst that could happen #sorry for rambling just woke up with very strong feelings about how comfortable I'm feeling rn #also unrelated to anything I think modern oil paintings are really interesting especially ones that are more realistic and focus on everyda #scenes or still lives #personally I always associate oil painting with very classical art and that comparison brings a whole new layer of appreciation to the #piece like yea you've painted your McDonald's happy meal and hundreds of years ago somebody painted this bowl of fruit #and the medium in which you did it stayed the same the whole time #it's similar to how I feel about (modern) art in museums in that because it's placed in museums it gives it the feeling of an important #art piece and something that you should study intently #love modern art btw don't think it has only value if it's placed in an museum I just think it's interesting how much impact the surrounding #have on what we consider art #which is a fun thing to try out like for example if I say my IKEA chair is art that gives it a different value #making me study it more closely and in the process I'll realise yes it is art to me the way the pieces fit together #how the form was designed etc and it works for everything and makes your day much more fun #ramble over if someone's still reading this here's a fun little guy: 🐕 and sorry for taking up so much space on the dashboard #I'm going to go back to sleep now (bed is still veryyyy comfortable)#delete later

Ah fuck I’m thinking about Water 7/Enies Lobby arc again

Whoops I wrote an essay in the tags

#one piece #one piece spoilers #particularly a line that Franky says to Robin that really stuck with me #‘no one is born into this world to be alone’#god just the entire central theme of this arc being that you always have a place in this world #even if it doesn’t seem like it #the entire goddamn rooftop scene #the straw hats finally learn the extent of robin’s trauma and why she feels like she needs to leave them to turn herself in #and in response they DECLARE WAR ON THE WORLD #because Robin is their family #and god help anyone who messes with their family #and as if it wasn’t enough that the arc has that whole beautiful storyline #everything else about it is top notch too!#Usopp’s own arc where he learns to let go of his pride and realizes that he can focus on what he brings to the straw hats #Franky facing his own past and finding his place with the straw hats as their newest member #and the fights with cipher pol giving everyone a chance to shine!#nami and chopper get to actually Do Shit!#Luffy’s entire fight with Rob Lucci #Robin snapping Spandam’s spine after everything he did to her #anyway one piece is ultimately a story about found family and in no arc is that clearer than Enies Lobby #oh and don’t even get me started on everything with the Going Merry!#edit: okay so I misremembered something #it was Saul who told Robin that #but also Franky telling her outright that her existence isn’t a sin #aaaaaaahhhh my heart #I’m not really a frobin shipper (I don’t really ship anything from one piece aside from maybe namivivi)#but like. What about family aspects.#There are SO many goddamn aspects to look at in just this one hypothetical homeless encampment #That can determine and influence how people there interact with each other #Especially given outside influences such as police and civilians #If you only focus on the most cis-centric gender binary perspective of this hypothetical homeless encampment #Then you just suck at intersectional feminism.
