Niki knew he messed up today when he told Jake about you, telling him that even though you are adorable, you get too clingy and into his personal space making him annoyed and calling you needy. But unbeknownst to him, you heard everything, breaking down each time you whatever he said rings in your head. It broke his heart watching you lay in bed all day, eyes dull with hurt. So now he was going to do whatever to make it up to you. “hi baby,” he said, sitting next to you on the bed and wrapping his arm around your shoulder. you just shrugged and swatted his hand off. He paused before placing his chin on your shoulder, watching you get annoyed and scoot away. He watched as you got out of the bed, taking a pillow and blanket and going to the living room. His heart sank as he kept his arm on where you used to lay. And now he REALLY messed up. He got out of the bed and followed you into the living room like a cat following it’s owner. Approaching her gently, Niki knelt beside the couch, his heart filled with regret. "Hey love," he said softly, reaching out to brush a stray strand of hair from your face. "I'm really sorry about what I said earlier. I didn't mean to hurt you." You looked up at him, your eyes still moist with unshed tears. "It's okay," you murmured, though your voice trembled slightly. "No, it's not okay," he insisted, his tone filled with genuine concern. "I should never have said that, even as a joke. I love you just the way you are, and I never want to make you feel bad about yourself." Your expression softened as you listened to Niki. You could see the sincerity in his eyes, and it warmed your heart. "I just... I don't want to be a burden to you," you admitted quietly. Niki shook his head gently. "You're not a burden, love. You're my favorite person in the world," he said, a playful smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "And besides, a little clinginess is just a sign of how much you love me, right?"
