I am more of a fantasy person so the story I have been reading is called Castle Swimmer! It’s in the world of mer people and the main character/couple is so lovely! Here are the two trailers that showed on my recommended and I just fell in love with it! I stopped reading it at some point (oh my goodness it’s been nearly 3 years…) and now I’m back into it <3

sometimes I worry about the fact that I'm soft to the point of bruising, but then I remember that this is increasingly a choice---as I get older, I care less about seeming "cool" or "detached" etc. I just want to talk to people and understand them, I want to help, I want to move through the world lightly, offering what I can.

What were the other heroes of yore like in your au?

they're gone long before the beginning of the story, which takes place on 'modern day' popstar, and they admittedly don't feature much. as a result they don't (currently) have any real hard and fast development in that au in particular!

when galacta knight is freed from the crystal by his wish, he seems to think or feel fairly little about them. perhaps time has eroded anything he felt, or perhaps they didn't have an especially great relationship. in some endings he even seems to have an amount of antagonism towards others of his kind, even going so far as to hunt them down through dimensions. in those cases i imagine some sort of betrayal is likely to have occurred somewhere along the line, but he could also just be wiping out the only things that could ever stand up against him.

So in your doors universe, how did Guiding light and Curious light meet?

curious light and guiding light are siblings in my universe , both of which were created by a higher deity with the purpose of being guardians. they had another sibling, but it is unknown what has happened to them.

at some point in their early life, they were separated. one did not know what happened to the other for a very long time, a long enough time that they had almost forgotten about one another; until their coincidental reunion.

What are the ethnicities/races or the celestial bodies in your story ?

Howdy! Actually I don't really have 100% set ethnicities or races for each character, due to them being celestial bodies. This is so that there's freedom of interpretation for the viewers, but still taking inspiration from real life!

Here are some coding I've made for some of the characters although if you have a different headcanon, it's fine as long as it's respectful to me and other people who may have different perceptions.

Sun, Jupiter, Saturn - Caucasian, likely of European descent

Mercury - Southeast Asian (I personally pin him as Filipino because I'm Filipino. Haha. But he's meant to be broadly coded as SEAsian)

Venus - Latina or black/Latina mix

Earth - probably SEAsian or Latino + Caucasian mix (not sure yet)

Luna - likely East Asian mix, or purely East Asian

Mars - East Asian

Uranus - Caucasian (may be pure, may be a mix of some sort, but I personally see him as Russian)

Neptune and Pluto - at least part Asian (not sure yet, but probably a mix too)

Earth and Venus + Uranus and Neptune having different ethnicity/race coding is due to a piece of Heliospheric lore I wrote back then; nobody's literally "blood-related" and most of their "relationships" are simply titles of the bond that they feel towards each other.

Her mini series “Alien Stage” in particular just has such beautiful music, stunning animation, and interesting storyline! All of her animations are amazing really :D it’s a lot of horror stuff though if that’s your cup of tea or not, there is a warning just in case!

the celestials au is actually so important to me oh my god

grian almost doesn’t go into scar’s dream, almost just wakes him up and moves on... but he feels this instinctual pull, almost as if scar was pulling him into orbit, grian wouldn’t really even doubt it. scar’s nightmare is unrealistic, like most are, but its nothing like the nightmares mortals have... its terrifyingly familiar in the way that grain's sure he's had the same one.

when scar notices him, dancing around his dream, grian feels like a deer caught in the headlights. he’s never been caught before, but then again he's never gone into another celestials dream. he gives an awkward wave and its just silly enough for the lingering fear to dissipate.

and that’s when it happens, when grian’s hears scar laugh he knows that he’s a goner. his heart stutters in his chest, his face heats up and wow scar is so much prettier up close. they start a conversation, its simple, its easy, it gets their mind off of the dream.

suddenly they’ve been talking for hours, and they’ve migrated so that their shoulders are touching and they’ve told each other things they swore they’d take with them to the grave. and they’re together even though it seems impossible...

What camera do you use?

It's a Canon EOS 20D! I got it secondhand about four years ago now, as a law school graduation gift.

I really only started getting into photography when I was...extremely unhappy in my first post-grad job, and "go for a walk and take some pictures" was the only short-term survival strategy I could come up with that didn't involve food or alcohol. Even now that I'm in a much better place, it's still probably the most unabashedly fun hobby I have, the least stressful, the most serotonin return-on-investment.

I wouldn't call myself anything but a hobbyist. Still, when I was taking those pictures of the entrance to the Lincoln Park Conservatory, one of the docents ambled over. An older Indian gentleman, he asked if I could see my pictures, and I showed him the last couple shots I'd taken. He said they were very nice, asked if I put them anywhere---and I told him truthfully that I have a flickr account, but that's it, I'm strictly amateur.

He said he had been too, in his youth; he'd also had a secondhand camera, gotten his film developed at Walgreens. "You know where the word 'amateur' comes from, right?" he asked. And I, because I did take five years of Latin and conjugated amo amas amat, answered: "Someone who loves something."

"Right," he said, and walked away back to his bench.
