Mountain Climbers!!! โฃ Although they look daunting, mountain climbers are a super simple to get right and a fantastic exercise to get those abdominal muscles firing โ€ข Here's a handy little guide on h ow to position your body when performing the exercise; โฃ ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿป Hands - Traditionally, Mountain Climbers start in a high-plank position, and your hands should be directly underneath your shoulder joint (there should be a straight line, from your wrist to your elbow to your shoulder) โ€ข In order to increase the difficulty - you can drop to a low plank or combine with a plank press and alternate between low and high plank to work those core muscles extra hard! โฃ ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป Hips & Shoulders - When doing Mountain Climbers, your hips should be positioned below your shoulders (imagine a diagonal line running from your shoulders to you feet). โฃ ๐Ÿ‘ฃ Feet - In order to create better balance and stability, your feet should be hip-width apart, too close together and you risk losing that crucial core tension and balance. โฃ ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿป The Movement - Draw your knees up towards your chest, one at a time, making sure to engage your core and not to rotate your hips (they should remain parallel to one another) โ€ขAs with all exercise, it's quality and not quantity that counts so go slowly at first and focus on form before building up your pace! โฃ ๐Ÿ”ข These are a great exercise to use in timed sets (as opposed to focusing on reps) so I recommend doing 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest and repeat for 4-8 sets. โฃ #WorkoutWednesday โฃ โฃ #getstrongertoday #buildyourbody #workingonmyfitness #athomefitness #quickworkout #athomeworkouts #athomeworkout #workoutwithme #athomeworkoutideas #homeworkouts #workouteverywhere #athomegym #garageworkout #livingroomworkouts #backyardworkout #sweatathome #getfitathome #inhomeworkout #bodyweightexercises #noequipmentworkout #noequipmentneeded #nogymneeded #workoutideas #freeworkouts #quarantineworkout #quarantoned #betterforit #findyourstrong #fitnessforlife (at Leeds) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDx4iPeB8up/?igshid=pk31n6kqnq5s
