katara being the one to reassure zuko to go see his uncle is much more meaningful when you remember that katara herself was in the same place as iroh. as in, she had a deep connection to zuko and wanted to help him, only for him to turn against her. iroh was also betrayed and ultimately hurt, even though he was never angry at zuko unlike katara (who also had the baggage of her own childhood trauma).

the point is, both katara and iroh trusted zuko, and he let them down. zuko did everything to make up for it. he guided katara the same way iroh guided him. in the end, katara forgave zuko and was able to trust him again. that's why she's crucial for zuko to go inside the tent. katara asks him "you're sorry for what you did, right?" and when zuko confirms, she replies, "then he'll forgive you."

she says this because katara herself sees it. she knows how much zuko cares. she knows he's deeply remorseful and he wants to make amends. after everything he did to help her, katara knows iroh will see it, too.
