The end of 2017 is near. And what a year it has been...

SPELLBOUND

We kicked off our 2017 season with, Spellbound, a collaborative evening length concert featuring original works in fashion, design, music and writing at Synchronicity Theatre in Atlanta.

SUSAN CHAMBER’S DANCE COMPANY

We were thrilled to guest perform in Chambers Performing Art’s dance company’s annual concert, Dancin’ and Singin’ the Night Away. We loved sharing the stage with the talented students of the Susan Chamber’s Dance Company, where we are beyond thankful for the love and support we’ve received over the past 4 years. 

JON QUIL FESTIVAL

We performed as a part of the City of Smyrna’s Jon Quil Festival earlier this year, in a tribute to our goddess, Stevie Nicks. We are always happy to give back through free and open public performances, where we are able to contribute to the cultural landscape of our beautiful cities across Georgia.

LILIANA BAKHTIARI

This year, we were honored to support and be a part of helping create meaningful change to our city’s political landscape. We performed work in support of City Council hopeful, Liliana Bakhtiari, at Facet Gallery. We thank Liliana for allowing us to perform our work and speak our truths during such an important and crucial time for change.

DETROIT

Our biggest initiative of the year was by far our Detroit tour. We raised over $4000 from our generous donors and supporters to travel to Detroit, MI to perform for the second time with Kristi Faulker Dance in her annual all-female dance festival. We performed two original works by Director Mallory Baxley, and senior dancer, Sarah Wildman. We also enjoyed launching our teaching program, Classified, in which we taught students at the YMCA in downtown Detroit! 

SUMMER SESSIONS

As a part of our teaching program, Classified, this summer we created the Summer Sessions. We offered free and open classes to students during the month of July, and were happy to host guest instructor and Zoetic alum, Christina Noel Reaves of NY.

THIS IS YOGA

This is Yoga, presented by lululemon at Ponce City Market and Citizen Supply, was a blast! Director, Mallory Baxley, and senior dancer, Sarah Wildman performed a duet for the event.

SUWANEE FEST

Zoetic Dance performed for Suwanee Fest 2017 in Suwanee, GA. The art festival features multiple performances in music and dance. We were so excited to see some of our students who showed up to watch us perform!

BEST OF ATLANTA

Perhaps one of the most exciting events of this year was receiving the honor and title of Best Dance Company in Atlanta for Creative Loafing! Our very own, Sarah Wildman, also received the honor of Best Choreographer!

10 YEARS with LEAH ROTH PHOTOGRAPHY

This year marked our 10 year anniversary of working with legendary, Leah Roth! We celebrated with champagne and a photoshoot (of course!) at beautiful Arabia Mountain! Love this lady with all our hearts!

BRENAU EVENING OF DANCE

Zoetic dancers, Paris Hawkins and Francesca Morky performed a duet at Brenau University for the dance department’s annual Evening of Dance. We also had so much fun teaching classes all week to the hard working students in dance department!

ART ON THE BELTLINE

Zoetic performed for their third year in the Atlanta Beltline’s annual exhibition, Art on the Beltline. 

So in summary, we’d say 2017 had a lot to offer! Our resolutions for 2018 are to contribute to our city’s arts and culture and to help inspire change and growth in our communities.
