Note
gotta get to the meme numbers real quick
69 and 420.
also 13, 56 and 74 :3
Here's 69.
This really is a 420 track.
This is actually supposed to be the Key Ingredient version, but the audio file for that was too big, so have #14 instead.
Here's 56
And finally, 74

I finally finished this!! AAAAAAAA—
Audio is from Danny Gonzales’ video, The Liver King. (i love him sm someone please protect him with a 16 ft pole)
Subtitles for those who can’t hear
Antonio: “I’m gonna build a tree in my house.”
Mirabel: “I’m gonna swim into a volcano in the ocean to live like our earliest ancestors.”
Camilo: “Kinda wanna just live like a single-celled organism, if that’s cool?”
—AAAAA!! *cough* sorry. So this is my first time making animatiiiiic :3
And I really like how it turned out!!
It’s not perfect, especially cause the program I was using to edit it wasn’t working properly TwT
(Please don’t notice but it’s doing this really weird thing with the lighting *sobs*). I tried to programs, but both had different problems(second one wouldn’t let the animation play smoothly—which I hated more than the flashing *sobs harder*)
But eh! It was my first time so of course I was going to make mistakes, BUT THAT AIN’T STOPPING ME
I’ve almost always been the kind of person to start something but don’t finish(especially if it’s long), so it’s fun and easier to push myself with funny stuff like this! I can’t give up!
So yeah. I hope you guys like this as much as I do. I’ll also be posting the pictures and animations separately as soon as I let this post breathe for a day, cause I really like them as well TwT
Otherwise, if you know how to do this please do give me input and advice on what programs to use and such! Keeping in mind that I use an iPad
Have a good day! *disappears*

Waiting for Godot - Broadway - November 24, 2013 (Opening Night) (Lanelle's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Aidan Gemme (The Boy), Billy Crudup (Lucky), Ian McKellen (Estragon), Patrick Stewart (Vladimir), Shuler Hensley (Pozzo)
War Horse - West End - February 27, 2014 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  MKV (HD) CAST: Sion Daniel Young (Albert Narracott), Josie Walker (Rose Narracott), Alistair Brammer (Billy Narracott), Alex Avery (Captain Nicholls), Steve North (Ted Narracott), Tom Hodgkins (Arthur Narracott) NOTES: Multi-cam pro-shot broadcast live to cinemas as part of National Theatre Live, Includes interval interview and documentary.
War Paint - Broadway - March 11, 2017 (Preview) (SunsetBlvd79's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (SD) CAST: Patti LuPone (Helena Rubinstein), Christine Ebersole (Elizabeth Arden), John Dossett (Tommy Lewis), Douglas Sills (Harry Fleming) NOTES: Beautiful HD capture of the Broadway transfer. Some changes for Broadway from the previous Goodman Theater production. Excellent performances from the entire cast with clear picture and great sound throughout; very good video. 2 DVDs. A War Paint - Broadway - April 29, 2017 (Matinee) (NYCG8R's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Patti LuPone (Helena Rubinstein), Christine Ebersole (Elizabeth Arden), John Dossett (Tommy Lewis), Douglas Sills (Harry Fleming) NOTES: The master gets caught during Face to Face. You can hear someone say “TURN IT OFF”. Blackout during that part. Wasted - Southwark Playhouse - 2018 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Matthew Jacobs Morgan (Branwell Brontë), Molly Lynch (Anne Brontë), Natasha Barnes (Charlotte Brontë), Siobhan Athwal (Emily Brontë) We Are The Tigers - Off-Broadway - March, 2019 (StarCuffedJeans's master) FORMAT:  MP4 (HD) CAST: Lauren Zakrin (Riley Williams), Wonu Ogunfowora (Cairo), Jenny Rose Baker (Kate Dalton), MiMi Scardulla (Reese), Kaitlyn Frank (Annleigh), Cathy Ang (Mattie Wheeler), Celeste Rose (Chess), Zoe Jensen (Farrah), Sydney Parra (Eva Sanchez), Louis Griffin (Clark) NOTES: Starts at the beginning of "I Just Wanna" and missing part of "Mattie's Lament." The theater was really full tonight so there are a good number of heads in this video, but they are worked around to the best of my ability. This is a super small theater (less than 160 seats) and at times the cast members were definitely singing to the camera and honestly giving their best performances because of it. All of the things on the upper level (the bathroom, the pathway, and the kitchen) are captured perfectly, and the zooms on the lower level (the living room and bench) look good as well. Obviously because this is a murder mystery kind of show the lighting can get a little bit dark, but my camera handles low lighting incredibly well. This is honestly the best video you could expect from this venue We Will Rock You - Germany (Cologne) - August, 2005 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Alex Melcher (Galileo), Vera Bolten (Scaramouche), Brigitte Oelke (Killer Queen), Martin Berger (Khashoggi), Michaela Kovarikova (Meat/Oz), DMJ (Brit/J.B.), James Sbano (Pop/Buddy/Bap), Harald Tauber (Teacher), Willemijn Verkaik NOTES: Multicam proshot We Will Rock You - Utrecht (The Netherlands) - October, 2010 FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: John Vooijs (Galileo), Marjolein Teepen (Scaramouche), Pia Douwes (Killer Queen), Paul Donkers (Khashoggi), Floortje Smit (Meat/Oz), Ruud van Overdijk (Brit/J.B.), Rutger le Poole (Pop/Buddy/Bap) NOTES: Good capture. Heads in the way, but also a lot of good close-ups. Dubble DVD! We Will Rock You - West End - February 11, 2003 (Pro-Shot's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Tony Vincent (Galileo), Hannah Jane Fox (Scaramouche), Sharon D Clarke (Killer Queen), Alexander Hanson (Khashoggi), Kerry Ellis (Meat/Oz), Nigel Clauzner (Brit/J.B.), Nigel Planer (Pop/Buddy/Bap) The Wedding Singer - Broadway - April 1, 2006 (Preview) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Stephen Lynch (Robbie Hart), Laura Benanti (Julia), Matthew Saldivar (Sammy), Kevin Cahoon (George), Rita Gardner (Rosie), Amy Spanger (Holly), Richard H Blake (Glen), Felicia Finley (Linda) NOTES: Includes pictures of outside of the theatre and playbill. This was before the changes were made to the production. Blackouts throughout the show. The Wedding Singer - Off-West End - March 1, 2020 (Matinee) (Closing Night) (Highlights) (queenofthedead's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Kevin Clifton (Robbie Hart), Rhiannon Chesterman (Julia), Ashley Emmerson (Sammy), Andrew Carthy (George), Sandra Dickinson (Rosie), Tara Verloop (Holly), Jonny Fines (Glen), Erin Bell (Linda), Lori Haley Fox (Angie), Andy Brady (David Fonda), Nathan Ryles (Harold Fonda), Jordan Crouch (Donnie), Aimee Moore (Tiffany), Simon Anthony (Shane McDonough), Paris Green (Donatella), Vanessa Grace Lee (Donatella’s Mother), Morgan Jackson (Mookie), Ellie Seaton (Crystal) NOTES: 38 minutes of act 1 of the closing performance, unobstructed. Welcome To The Club - Broadway - April 8, 1989 FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Avery Schreiber (Milton), Bill Buell (Gus), Jodi Benson (Betty), Marcia Mitzman (Carol), Marilyn Sokol (Arlene), Sally Mayes (Winona), Samuel E Wright (Bruce), Scott Waara (Kevin), Scott Wentworth (Aaron), Terri White (Eve) NOTES: Filmed during previews. Well filmed from the balcony. Mostly a full stage shot. Some generational loss. Wenn Rosenblätter Fallen - Oberhausen - June 13, 2016 (Rumpel's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Pia Douwes (Rose), Anton Zetterholm (Till), Annemieke van Dam (Iris)
West Side Story - Hollywood Bowl - July 19, 2016 (SJ Bernly's master) FORMAT:  VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Jeremy Jordan (Tony), Solea Pfeiffer (Maria), Karen Olivo (Anita), Matthew James Thomas (Riff), George Akram (Bernardo), Drew Foster (Action), Jose Moreno Brooks (Chino), Anthony C Chatmon II (A-Rab), Kyle Selig (Baby John), Mike Schwitter (Big Deal), Jeff Smith (Diesel), Kevin Chamberlin (Krupke), Jennifer Sanchez (Rosalia), Erica Dorfler (Consuela) NOTES: This concert version of the show is abridged with shortened scenes, simple costumes, and no sets or choreography, but Jeremy, Solea, and Karen are absolutely phenomenal with soaring vocals and emotional performances. Very well captured with no dropouts, no obstruction, and no washout. The stage is filmed directly most of the time; the screens are occasionally filmed, usually when the actors are not onstage. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans. No dropouts and no obstruction. West Side Story - Second Broadway Revival - February 23, 2009 (Preview) (SunsetBlvd79's master) FORMAT:  VOB (no smalls) (SD) CAST: Matt Cavenaugh (Tony), Josefina Scaglione (Maria), Karen Olivo (Anita), Cody Green (Riff), George Akram (Bernardo), Curtis Holbrook (Action), Joey Haro (Chino), Kyle Coffman (A-Rab), Ryan Steele (Baby John), Tro Shaw (Anybodys), Steve Bassett (Lt. Schrank), Lee Sellars (Krupke), Greg Vinkler (Doc) NOTES: Stunning production of this revival. Josefina and Karen still steal the show. The cast was on fire and there was a lot of energy in the audience as it was the first performance on Broadway. There are some changes from the DC run, which work better. I think that the shade account needs to be reported by everyone because that acct is what kept this going & started it all. They obviously have a vendetta for Colby going as far as saying they hoped he read the post & then reblogged it so others could read it. Making up rumors about an audio, you cant just sue someone & have stuff taken down thats not how the law works. & why have that taken down and not sexual assault allegations erased. People need to stop believing everything they read.
I really wish the shade account would be taken down, too. It does nothing but spread negativity and, while everyone is entitled to have (negative) opinions, I wish it wasn’t broadcasted in a place that the boys could easily see.
Before I get into the alleged lawsuit, I would like to explicitly state that I don’t believe the phone call is real. I haven’t heard it, but reading the transcription of it is so...fanfiction-y in the worst way possible? A lot of people said it reads like something that belongs in a Wattpad novel, and I’d have to agree. If I were to hear it, maybe that would change my mind. Until I hear it for myself, I am not going to put much faith in the validity of it.
This paragraph is operating under the assumption that the phone call is real. As for the phone call, I can’t find anything concrete about the legality of having it posted. I know that in California, both parties have to consent to being recorded. As for leaking it, it feels like it should be illegal but I can’t find anything that would suggest that it is (everything that I look up is talking about the whole Kanye & Taylor Swift drama which doesn’t help in the slightest in this case). I don’t know what Brennen and Amber could be suing over, but I think it would be hard to prove regardless, especially considering the person who posted it has little influence compared to Brennen and Amber. However, sometimes the threat of a lawsuit is another to get people to delete things. No one wants to deal with an expensive, drawn out suit, so it’s easier to remove it before things get messy. (Think of the situation where Danny Gonzales was like “I’m reviewing my legal options” in regard to Billion Surprise Toys and immediately the issue with the copyright claim was fixed.) Also, I agree that an (alleged) lawsuit about the phone call but not sexual assault accusations is weird, but it almost makes more sense? At least, it seems like Brennen doesn’t want anyone to know about the sexual assault accusations as he has yet to address it, but if it was proven that the phone call wasn’t him, then it could easily be a “well these people lied about the phone call, so the sexual assault accusations are fake, too”. Which would be a really smart move on his part (but I don’t believe he’s that smart).
This paragraph is operating under the assumption that the phone call is fake. If the phone call is fake, then the shade account really needs to be deleted. Starting potentially damaging rumors is not cool. Throwing out accusations without evidence is real fucking shady, and it’s basically made a lot of the fandom forget about the very real accusations of Brennen being a sexual predator.
Finally, the account reposting the paragraph made about Colby is so fucking scummy. No one needed to see that. No one needed to read that. That should’ve been buried far, far away in the deepest, darkest corners of someone’s mind, because nobody should have ever had the audacity to say those things.
TLDR: The shade account needs to go. The phone call and the lawsuit’s probably fake. People need to stop paying attention to these rumors and focus on the real sexual assault accusations being made against Brennen.

Running Scared: Facets of Film
In the midst of the discussions on plot, characters, structure and tropes, the story that makes up the films we watch, it can be easy to overlook another important aspect of film: the actual moviemaking.
As vital as the actual story is to film, the fact is, without the storytelling devices used onscreen, they’re just words on a page.  It’s up to the film crew and director to take the plot and characters on the pages and use the tools at their disposal to create a movie.
And that’s not as easy as it might sound.  There’s a lot to it.
Costumes.  Sets.  Cameras.  Lighting.  Props.  Music.  Special Effects.  Performances.  All of this, and more, go into the process of making a film.  These elements exist as what I call ‘storytelling devices’, facets of moviemaking designed specifically to use visual (or audio) shorthand in order to explain things to the audience, without having to use dialogue or exposition to do so.
A competent film will use these elements well enough.  Examples of ‘competently made’ films are everywhere, and you probably know them when you see them.  They’re not great, and they’re not bad, they’re just okay.  ‘Okay’ films know how to use these elements, but a ‘great’ film knows how to use them really well.  We’ve taken a look at a few of those ‘great’ films on this blog before, notably Casablanca, which was our last film.
Tumblr media
Today, however, we’re taking a look at Running Scared, which you’ve probably figured out by the title.  Specifically, we’re going to see whether Running Scared uses these ‘facets of film’ competently, (not using them to overshadow the plot or characters, or using them too little) or whether or not they use them well.
Let’s take a look, starting with an element that can sometimes be overlooked: camerawork.  (Spoilers below!)
So, much like the ‘storytelling shorthand’ in general, camerawork is noticeable in the hands of a competent filmmaker.  When used to its full advantage, however, we have unforgettable shots like the final shot of Psycho, or the image of Luke Skywalker half concealed by shadow in Return of the Jedi.  The question is, which category does Running Scared fall into?
See, there’s more to camerawork than simply pointing it at the actors and letting them do their thing.  There’s angles, lighting, and movement to consider in order to make a scene look like it’s shot well.  As for Running Scared?
Well….this one, as far as camerawork is concerned, largely falls into the mediocre category.  That’s not necessarily a bad thing.  Not every film is a masterpiece, and the film is shot very competently.  There’s proper emphasis on what needs to be emphasized, (the containers made of cocaine, or the shots of Ray participating in the shootout while dangling from the window-washing rig) and the shots of Chicago are certainly nice enough.  On the other hand, there is a glaring example of camerawork that really could have been used better: the car chase.
Tumblr media
In the otherwise exciting car chase set on a set of railroad tracks, the camera is used….more like it would be in a conversation.  The scene is full of ‘point of view’ shots, rendering the excitement and suspense of the scene rather anticlimactic.  The camera really isn’t used to build the interest of the viewers, and as a result, the audience isn’t quite as invested.  They aren’t drawn into the action, instead, they are thoroughly reminded of the fact that they are, in fact, the audience.  Watching, not experiencing.
It’s a small complaint, to be fair.  Does the film as a whole suffer from it?  Not exactly.  It certainly doesn’t ruin it, but it is something of note.  The camera is used best when it sucks the viewers into the action, helping us to experience it with the characters, and as a result, being far more invested.
The visuals of the film overall very much follow this precedent, being good, but not great.  There’s nothing that stands out by way of costuming, and there isn’t much by way of special effects.  (Although the ‘snow’ in the city doesn’t look very good.)  The music, on the other hand?
The soundtrack for Running Scared does lend this film a bit of an identity in and of itself, especially set alongside the shots of the city of Chicago.  It’s a very contemporary score, full of pop songs by famous singers at the time, but the songs are all good, and it doesn’t feel jarring when a track starts playing.  It feels natural and consistent with the tone of the film, while not being hugely standoutish.
Honestly, most of this film falls into the category of being ‘good, but not standoutish’.  It’s good.  It’s passable, fun, a little better than competent, perhaps, but by no means great, not even to the standards of Ladyhawke.  There is one element however, that manages to exceed ‘mediocre’, arguably the most important of these facets:
Performances.
Now, as I mentioned in my ‘Character’ article on this film, Anna and notably Julio Gonzales aren’t really given a lot of characterization or screentime, and as a result, we don’t get a whole lot of ‘performance’ to judge them on, but with what we are given, we can deduce that they are both acted well enough.  Gonzales convincingly looks like a bad guy who is getting exasperated with being chased by the law, and Anna?
Anna comes across very succinctly the way she is supposed to: a down-to-earth woman with a lot of common sense who has strong feelings for a man who seems like the reverse.  She isn’t unkind, and she’s understanding to a point.  She’s moving on, getting married again, while also admitting that she didn’t divorce Danny because she wanted to, it’s because she felt he was immature.  Darlanne Fluegel portrays this perfectly, as she also does the intense emotions in the shootout scene at the end.  She has good chemistry with the actors she’s with, and does a convincing job of portraying the character.
But of course, the heart of the movie is Danny and Ray.
Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines are the standout gems in this film, working off one another beautifully.  The characters they play, while not being as fleshed out as they could have been, are very vibrantly portrayed.
Tumblr media
Danny Costanzo comes across as a snarky cowboy cop with a passion for sports.  He’s cocky and funny, and while he acts a tad immature at times, there’s no question about his competence.  Crystal’s portrayal of a good cop who just wants to retire early comes across as believable, if not especially deep.
Ray Hughes is very similar as a character, if a bit more grounded than Danny is.  Hines pulls off a portrayal of a cop without regard for procedure, but still possessing a good amount of common sense to balance out his Manchild partner.  He’s not the straight man, (neither of the pair are) but he does manage to portray a very good cop who tends to have a clearer head.
Of course, as in any good buddy-cop movie, the characters work best when they’re together.  The chemistry between the main leads is essential, and without it, the film would, of course, fall apart.  Thankfully, the performances are in good hands.  Crystal and Hines portray the friendship between the two characters perfectly while also bringing their own talents to the table, making the connection the most vibrant and memorable part of the film.
As far as storytelling devices and their uses go, Running Scared is perfectly serviceable.  It’s fun, and lighthearted, exciting and entertaining.  The tone blends action and comedy together well, assisted by the performances from the main cast.  The entire mood of the movie comes together to make a comfortable, enjoyable movie.  It’s not a masterpiece by any means, but it works well for what it is.
Running Scared is a largely forgotten film, lost in a sea of other, similar, more popular movies.  It received mixed reception and mixed success, described as a tonally inconsistent film with nothing new to add to the genre.  On the other hand, some praise it for its humor and action, and admire the slightly different take on the genre that they decided to go in.  Overall, it comes across as a genuinely fun, exciting film that, while not great, was still good.
Join us next time, where we’ll be taking a look at the behind-the-scenes of Running Scared.
Thank you guys so much for reading!  Don’t forget that my ask box is always open for suggestions, discussions, questions, or conversations.  I hope to see you all in the next article.
