Chan's birthday party was nothing short of a mess, but not in a way where he was sobbing at the end of it, more of a chaotic mess that made him wear the most ear splitting grin on his face by the end of the day. Streamers filled the room the moment he had entered said room, Jisung holding a big American cheesecake proudly that wrote in cherry red frosting: "Happy birthday Hyung!" The action alone was enough to make his heart melt, but being wrapped up in a grand total of 14 arms made him burst into loud tears, profusely thanking each and every member for their contributions to completing his dreams.

Afterwards, he ended up practically drinking himself silly, red wine passed around so many times that even Changbin, who decided to sit out and watch over the group to ensure that no destruction of the dorms will ensue when all members were drunk, couldn't keep track of the amount of bottles that were dumped into the glass disposal bin anymore. Poor Binnie practically had to manhandle each member back to their rooms after midnight, wincing when a ferret whined obnoxiously loudly into his ear when he was picked up away from the bottles of wine and back to his room.

Now, it was only left to the parents of Stray Kids, Minho running a hand through the older's hair calmly while said older man was giggling himself crazy on the floor over seemingly nothing. The bunny had chosen to drink a lot less than normal, seeing how he had to rush Jisung to the toilet when he only drank energy drinks with Seungmin; he definitely suspects that mischievous vocalist had spiked his drink or something.

"You're drunk, hyung, go to bed." Minho ushers softly, rubbing Chan's cheek tenderly to soothe the post drunk brain of his leader. The Aussie beneath him sulked at the hear of being told to go to bed, petulantly crawling closer to the younger and wrapping his arms tightly like a vice around Minho, head laying on his lap with a dazed pout, almost as if he didn't even know he was doing so.

"N-Not as if you would care anyway..." Despite knowing that Chan was probably wedged in deep into the depths of red wine and his mind was probably not in the best state to be saying any truthful or any right words even, the sentence itself still pricked somewhere in Lee Know's soft heart, reopening a wound that he swore not to open for a while.

"I don't care? But what about the time I cooked for you so you could eat? What about the time that you cried, and I tried to comfort you?" Minho murmurs under his breath, and unexpectedly, the original panging feeling comes back tenfold, eyes widening when he saw tears beginning to drip down onto his shirt. He rushes to wipe them, but it was too late, being dragged down by Chan quietly. Without a word, the older engulfs him in a hug, a warm one. The same warm feeling during their predebut, the same tears that flowed down Minho's face during his elimination, the same position they were in: Standing up while facing each other.

"I know you care. Please don't cry..." Something in Lee Know wanted him to believe the words he was hearing, but he knew those were just drunk words that were falling from the older's mouth, ignoring the smell of red wine from his breath when the leader made poor but effort filled attempts to cheer up the bunny. Doing silly faces, giving him a million snuggles to his cheeks, cuddling, he did everything, even when the dancer knew his head was probably throbbing.

"I-I'm sorry for making you comfort me on your birthday..." Minho finally admits after a bout of long, cosy silence between the two, and now the younger was being snuggled up by the producer, fingers wrapped around his waist tenderly. His nose was buried into the brown hair beneath him, inhaling the scent of a mint shampoo while his fingers instinctively tugged on the fabric of Minho's shirt, just needing something to fiddle with.

"It's okay, after all, the best birthday gift I will ever receive is all of you. STAY who got me here today, family who helped me grow into a better person, seniors who taught me the rules around here, our members that brought me into a brighter light, and you. You're apart of them, and that alone is enough for good ol' Channie."

Yet again, Lee Know could already feel his eyes burn at Chan's words, snuggling his head deep into the Aussie's chest to try and hide his crying face. It was embarrassing, really, crying when he wasn't even the birthday boy to begin with, and being taken care of the birthday man himself! However, Chan didn't allow it, drunk or sober, he still loved his kids dearly not to take care of them. He lifted up the dancer's chin, patting his back soothingly while the other wiped away his tears firmly, that same bright dimpled smile adorning his face; the one that gave him strength to continue perusing his career here, and not to give up on his elimination.

"We're all here for each other, okay? I don't need expensive gifts or big actions, even this simple gathering was so heart touching to me, you really are the best people I could ask for in this life." Chan consoles, although the truth behind his words were as clear as black on white, making Minho smile too, along with him; his smile was just that contagious. Bringing the leader in closer for a hug, their limbs soon entangle each other in a warm cuddle, even if Chan's breath smelt so strong of wine Lee Know had to secretly get up a few times from their snuggle spot on the couch to take a breather, most times failing when a clingy, drunk Chris tugged him back onto the couch by the back of his shirt.

"Happy birthday Chan." Minho whispers before finally passing out on the couch with him, eyes lidding close under the twinkling stars that continued to shine down on the radiant path they were walking on.

I made this a fic because I couldn't stop thinking about them, and now exams are over, so I could make my ideas a reality at last instead of giving mini bits of tickletober! Happy birthday best leader Bangchan, hoping you'll get smothered with love and affection to show just how truly great you are.

How I feel about this character

I love him. He's my American chaos gremlin, who probably shouldn't have the accent he does (a Southern??? accent, when he's Cumbrian by way of Wisconsin, but we ball). He has the sweetest relationship with Jim, he always got the least helpful things to say in a situation (Benghazi shrug, "harder for the enemy to spot us" [after a lot of people die in S1 E3), and I love that for him. He canonically visits brothels to buy bedsheets to make a flag for the Free French. He asks for permission to steal rations from the Aussies (sorry, Australia, but it's Pat, so you can't be mad at him), and the first time David meets him, we get the wonderful exchange of, "Good God, he's American" "Yes, but he's a good man". Oh, and lest we forget, he thinks that flying a crop sprayer qualifies him to fly a de Havilland post office plane. Lovely chaos gremlin, 10/10, I want more of him.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

As always, all SAS:RH characters are shippable with each other. But I especially love Jim/Pat, Jock/Pat, Jim/Jock Lewes/Pat, Bill/Pat (my poor grumpy Scottish boy looks so annoyed with him in S1 E3, and I love it), and also, from S2, Jock McD/Pat, (and a very minor Alessia/Alfredo/Pat too). This man is shippable with just about anyone.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

I mean, probably still Jim & Jock L & Pat. Like, the three of them are besties in S1, cannot convince me otherwise. They're there laughing at all these poor blokes jumping off trucks. Pat and Jim are devastated by Jock's death. Jim and Pat and all the forehead touching (it's adorable, I wanna die). Goddamn platonic soulmate MFs if I've eve seen.

My unpopular opinion about this character

I...I don't have one?? I don't think?? He and Jim should've kissed, but I don't think that's unpopular?? Oh, maybe an unpopular opinion will be that the relationship in S2 between him and Alessia is basically just completely unnecessary, and I'm guessing it's just so he and Alfredo can fight later on, which sorta shows that SK still really can't introduce women without attaching them to a man (a little bit of shade, sorry SK, love your stuff, think you could improve your introduction of women a bit more)

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Ok, having read about Pat Riley, I honestly wish we'd got to see him and Paddy (and Reg too!) boxing, because apparently Pat was a boxing champ too - "punishments usually consisted of going a few rounds in the ring with him [Paddy], a daunting challenge to all but the other boxing champs like Reg Seekings and Pat Riley."

Il tourna la tête vers elle et elle se mit à rire. Il fronça les sourcils, mécontent. Apparemment, la marque de l’adhésif était toujours visible sur son visage.

Elle n’avait pourtant pas l’air si désolée que ça, pensa Ranma. Jamais il ne lui avouerait, mais s’il faisait la tête ce n’était pas à cause de la marque d’adhésif, ou parce qu’il avait l’impression que ses lèvres étaient collées entre-elles, mais parce qu’il avait cru que lui et Akane allaient s’embrasser. Ce n’était pas la première fois qu’ils avaient failli s’embrasser, mais à chaque fois quelqu’un ou quelque chose brisait ce moment. Mais cette fois il y avait vraiment cru et il en avait vraiment envie. Et il était persuadé qu’Akane ressentait la même chose.

« Ce n’est pas si grave, dit-elle.

-Ce n’est pas si grave ? Répéta-t-il. »

Pourquoi est-ce qu’elle ne voulait pas comprendre ? Il sauta de la clôture et atterrit devant elle.

« Et si je t’avais fait le même coup, comment tu aurais réagi ?

-Je ne me comporterais pas comme un enfant comme tu es en train de le faire. »

Elle commençait à se mettre en colère et lui aussi.

« Tu m’as pris pour un idiot, tu as agis avec moi comme si j’étais Kuno.

-Alors c’est pour ça ? Parce que tu as été vexé ?

-Tu es idiote ou tu fais semblant de ne pas comprendre ? »

Il pouvait sentir qu’elle était de plus en plus en colère, mais il s’en moquait, il voulait la provoquer. Et il savait ce qui pourrait la faire sortit de ses gonds.

« Kawaikune !

-Ranma no baka ! »

Petit à petit, sans qu’aucun d’eux ne s’en rendent compte, ils s’étaient rapprochés. Il pouvait sentir la chaleur de son corps, son souffle se mêler au sien. Il plongea son regard dans le sien. Il était troublé, plus qu’il ne l’avait jamais été.

« Pourquoi est-ce que tu ne m’as pas embrassé ? Demanda-t-il en un souffle.

-Parce que je ne voulais pas le faire devant tout le monde. »

Ranma écarquilla les yeux. Elle aussi avait voulu l’embrasser. Il s’approcha un peu plus d’elle. Ou peut-être était-ce Akane qui s’était rapprochée. Leurs lèvres se frôlèrent hésitantes jusqu’à se toucher. Ranma sentait son cœur battre à vive allure et un frisson lui parcourut le corps. Akane passa ses mains autour de sa nuque, le rapprochant un peu plus d’elle. Il mit ses bras autour de sa taille, la serrant contre lui. Ce n’était pas la première fois qu’il la tenait dans ses bras, mais ils n’avaient jamais été aussi intime.

Ils s’écartèrent légèrement. Akane rougissait et il pouvait sentir le rouge lui monter aux joues. Elle se mit à rire légèrement.

« Tes lèvres sont encore collantes, expliqua-t-elle. »

Il rit à son tour. Leur premier baiser, pensa-t-il. Ce ne s’était pas passé comme il l’avait imaginé, mais pour lui c’était le baiser parfait.

Hello! I was wondering: what are your feelings on the Ninth Doctor/Jack relationship? Also, what do you think of "Ma meilleure ennemie" by Stromae as a song for Jack/the Doctor (with more emphasis on Nine)?

I think the chorus maybe doesn't fit too well but everything else works very well. "T'es la meilleure chose qui m'est arrivée, mais aussi la pire chose qui m'est arrivée... ce jour où je t'ai rencontré(e), j'aurais peut-être préféré que ce jour ne sois jamais arrivé" like come on that's THEM, isn't it?

(+ je sais qu'au debut de la chanson c'est censé d'être les paroles "je t'aime, je t'haïs" répétées, mais genre. quand tu les écoutes ça paraît bcp plus comme s'il chantait "je t'aime, je T'ATTENDS," et ça je trouve très "ninejack" vibes aussi.)

I think NineJack had much more chemistry and feelings to them than TenJack ever did. I actually don't care much for TenJackMartha while I absolutely LOVED NineJackRose. I think they were a bonkers polycule cause they all loved each other. So my answer is, I really love NineJack. They had everything you could ask for: gay, kiss, sexual tension, flirting, bickering, banter, inside jokes, Jack being protective of nine (the way Jack went crazy and screamed "Don't you touch him" in 1x12 when they were getting arrested after we thought the Anne droid killed Rose is my roman empire)... *dreamy sigh* and I guess what makes their appeal even greater is how apparently Eccleston and Barrowman had a fist fight cause it makes their chemistry so funny when you think that the actors hated working together

I still preferred NineRose to NineJack because NineRose is probably in my top 5 (maybe even 3) otps. But NineJack was still chef kiss

So. I've seen Arcane and therefore know where everyone's obsession with Ma Meilleure Ennemie by Stromae started... and honestly (don't be mad please it's just my opinion) I'm kind of really tired of this song cause it's everywhere. I love Stromae's music but this one? i think it's kind of meh. The lyrics aren't that deep to me.

That being said! Can't argue with that. Like, when Jack told Nine "Wish I'd never met you Doctor. Yesss "Je t'aime, je t'attends" ("I love you, I'm waiting for you") is literally what NineJack is all about.

Also "Plutôt qu'être seul, mieux vaut être mal accompagné" ("Better be in bad company than no company at all" basically) could kind of be applied to how Ten fights against his fear of Jack and his instinct to stay away from him when Jack finds him again after Nine had abandoned him on Satellite 5. The Doctor is doomed to be alone forever as humans are ephemeral but Jack is not, he's forever too, and it feels unnatural and wrong to the Doctor, it goes against everything he's been taught, it's an anomaly of sorts, but it's also the closest he'll ever get to having another Time Lord back (cause the Master is crazy, but see how he clings to the Master even knowing that?). In this light, yes, I guess this song has potential.

En fait, dans la série, on a bien évidemment le Egwene/Rand qui est là, et je ne suis pas un lapin de six semaines, je sais que c'est le endgame, donc quand ils sont ensemble, ils sont mignons, ils sont idiots, ils sont jeunes et idiots, et ne savent pas comment se débrouiller pour se dire qu'ils s'aiment (adorable, mais putain le manque de communication...)

je tiens à dire que je ne sais pas vraiment si c'est le endgame, mais je reconnais les signes

Pour autant, la série nous présente aussi le Egwene/Perrin en faisant genre que ça pourrait rivaliser avec le Rand/Egwene, pour nous faire comprendre que Perrin a aucune chance avec Egwene et que ses sentiments le trompent MAIS ils sont trop mignons ensemble? Genre, ils sont tendres, et mignons. Et le fait que, dans la série (notez que je viens de commencer le tome 1 de la version poche qui a 26 tomes de sortis pour le moment), ils passent tellement de temps ensemble dans la saison 1, à vivre une nouvelle vie, à se tenir par la main et gambader dans les prairies, et esquiver les extrêmistes religieux de temps à autres... Je les aime

AUSSI! En tant que personne queer, je suis bien sûr tombé bien fort pour le Rand/Mat qui est full toxic yaoi. On pourrait se dire que c'est Mat qui va poser problème dans leur groupe d'amis et dans le couple, mais la vérité c'est que c'est un wet meow meow et que le problème, c'est Rand qui est fâché contre tout le monde. Alors Mat est triste et réclame de l'attention, et Rand adore Mat mais déteste tout le monde et Mat croit que c'est contre lui, ils sont trop bêtes

Unpopular opinion: J'en ai assez que tous les gens qui adaptent l'Odyssée coupent la première partie, avec Télémaque. Ca justifie une bonne partie de la violence d'Ulysse contre les prétendants, le fait qu'ils aient tenté de tuer son fils. La plupart des adaptations donnent l'impression d'un mec qui leur en veut juste pour avoir tourné autour de Pénélope.

Zero Hour

I, 100% did not expect Adam and MJF to win, at all. I expected there to be the initial start of a betrayal or something. I was pleasantly surprised, since I love the two of them.

Aussie Open seems really good. I should probably check out ROH.

Hook is one of my favorite anime protagonists, and Jack Perry has improved so much by being a complete piece of shit.

Also, Taz being hyped up for everything Hook does will literally never get old. Dude just sounds so proud every damn time.

CM Punk vs Samoa Joe

I don't really care a whole lot about CM Punk. I've seen a few of his pre-AEW matches, and I think he cuts a fun promo. I also think he's clearly enjoying himself, which makes watching his matches more enjoyable, in their own way.

That said, watching Samoa Joe just beat the absolute fuck out of Punk for most of the match was beautiful. I missed Joe in the original ROH and TNA/Impact, but his NXT and WWE stuff was so fun. Joe works at such a great pace, too. He literally always feels like a threat.

Seeing "real world championship" in quotes every time they mention CM Punk’s belt always reminds me of when AJ Styles was being announced in WWE as "The Man Who Would Like to be Announced as 'The Face that Runs the Place'"

Golden Elite vs Bullet Club Gold w/ Takeshita

Juice Robinson is my favorite feral little gremlin in pro wrestling.

Jay White is a beautiful piece of shit and I love him for it. He's also so fucking good in the ring.

Takeshita is also fantastic and has been consistently great.

I love how much everyone hates Don Callis.

Golden☆Lovers OTP

Hangman Adam Page is one of all-time favorite wrestlers. Just always happy to see him out there.

Ibushi tried to murder people with his kicks and it was fantastic shit.

A shitty surprise pin on Kenny Omega is absolutely on brand. I was peeved in a good way.

FTR vs Young Bucks

Fuck the Revival. I also like FTR a lot. Been a fan of theirs since NXT, and I loved seeing them draped in gold not that long ago.

I don't always feel like watching a Young Bucks match, but I always enjoy the match when it's done.

FTR and the Bucks were top-tier tag team wrestling today.

I legitimately expected FTR to lose, given the legal troubles that Cash could be facing. Seeing FTR win was a nice surprise.

FTR having arm bands for Brodie Lee, Bray Wyatt, and Jay Briscoe was so sweet, and so sad.

Stadium Stampede

Find someone who loves you as much as Eddie Kingston hates Claudi Castagnoli.

Mox looked so fucking cool walking out.

Oh my god, Trent, why, what the fuck. Please stop.

Someone getting skewers stabbed into their heads will always make me wince and laugh simultaneously.

Penta being walked backstage by medics only to return as Penta Oscuro was amazing shit. Penta is great.

Wheeler Yuta is the perfect person in BCC to be a bloodthirsty little goblin that you want to see eat the pin. He does his job well.

Also Best Friends hugging Yuta only to beat him up was gold.

I lost track of what was happening at least 400 times during the match and I don't care. I was thoroughly entertained.

Dr. Britt Baker, DMD v. Toni Storm v. Saraya v. Hikaru Shida

I assumed Saraya was going to win as soon as I saw her come out to Queen with her entire goddamn family walking out.

Toni Storm is a beautiful disaster.

In the event that Saraya wouldn't be winning, I didn't want Britt to win.

But that's also primarily because I *wanted* Shida to retain. Also, I love that Shida's theme has big 90s X-Men vibes.

Shida in general is just great. She should win every match.

I also just had no real investment in Brit for this match. She just kinda felt like she could have been nearly any other woman from the women's division. She wasn't *bad* by any means, just not someone I was pulling for or against.

I'm curious to see what happens with this implosion of the Outcasts now that Saraya and Toni aren't on good terms.

I dislike Ronnie Radke musically and as a person, so I'm not really thrilled at the idea of hearing Saraya's music more now that she's the champ.

At the same time, given all the shit she's been through, I can't be too mad about them giving her a run.

I still want Shida to have an actual good, long run though. I love her matches.

Christian Cage & Swerve vs. Darby Allin and Sting

Schiavone shouting "IT'S STING" is one of my favorite things in wrestling.

Joker Sting is fun as hell.

Swerve is actually the coolest motherfucker on the entire roster, and it is a literal crime that he doesn't have a belt.

Christian Cage is a menace and I can't get over that he wrestles in a sleeveless turtleneck now.

Darby is here for a good time, not a long time.

Sting is SIXTY-FOUR GODDAMN YEARS OLD AND SHOULD NOT BE DOING THIS STUFF.

Darby shouldn't either, but I'm fairly certain he's not even human anymore.

I love Swerve.

I also love Prince Nana.

Getting all of Wembly to shout "Swerve's house" probably felt cool.

This was fun as hell.

Will Ospreay vs Chris Jericho

Ospreay is so fucking good, dude. Like he's absolutely up there as one of the best to do this. Every match I've seen of his just blows me away.

Jericho is also absolutely one of the most versatile wrestlers of all time. I've seen this man reinvent himself like a dozen times, and every time feels just as natural as the one before it.

If they had Jericho win, there was going to be a riot.

Plz give me more Ospreay matches. Dude can fucking go.

I went into this expecting heartbreak

Adam Cole, who took character inspiration from Handsome Jack from Borderlands 2, comes out sporting some definite Broderlands-vibe gear.

MJF is still wearing BTYBB gear.

MJF as this babyface-leaning thing is actually some of the greatest shit I've ever seen. The whole turmoil over using a weapon feels like Roddy Piper vs Bret Hart.

Cole being a desperate POS to the confused, hurt, and mad MJF was wonderful.

The tombstone onto the announce desk with metal reinforcement was brutal on my knees as a viewer.

lol Roddy. lmao.

MJF and Cole almost having a total falling out after the match was amazing.

Cole opting not to slam the AEW belt into MJF's head after the match, and they hug instead? Cinema.

Was I still deeply concerned that there was going to be a betrayal literally up until the PPV feed stopped? Oh hell yes. I watched Ciampa turn on Gargano after the little copyright stuff showed up in NXT. I will *still* be concerned about that until the moment it happens.

That said, I genuinely don't want it to happen because these dudes work so well together. They're just so fucking dorky in the best way.

Misc. Other Thoughts

I missed whatever happened with Miro and Hobbs, because I just missed the whole first hour of Zero Hour.

Apparently there was Drama involving Punk and Jack Perry-- I guess related to the use of actual glass in the windshield of the car that Hook and Perry wrestled on? Whatever. Punk isn't why I watch this stuff, but I would rather Perry not get screwed.

Why did they keep panning over to Mercedes Moné if she wasn't gonna do anything other than vibe to The Acclaimed's theme?

That being said, I was loving the wig she had on. I've been liking the shorter-cut wigs compared to the long-ass stuff she was wearing as Sasha Banks

A lot of people kept expecting Edge to show up at some point. I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that his contract was extended.

Overall, this was, in all honesty, probably the best wrestling PPV I've ever watched. And, thanks to the invention of VHS tapes in my youth and the WWE Network as an adult, I have seen a *lot* of PPVs. This felt bigger than any Wrestlemania I've watched. I can't compare it to Wrestle Kingdom because I've never actually seen one of those all the way through. But it had numerous people who have been in Wrestle Kingdom matches, which were great.

I'm just annoyed that All Out is next goddamn week, because I don't want to shell out $100 in two weeks for this stuff.

Regardless. I love wrestling. We are in one of the greatest eras of pro wrestling, if not *the* greatest. What a time to be a fan.

Il regarda l’heure et soupira. Dans deux heures, Kohaku allait se marier avec Mozu. Tout le monde disait que Senku était un génie. Il comprenait le fonctionnement de l’univers, pouvait répondre à n’importe quelle question qu’on lui posait. Pourtant, il était incapable de comprendre pourquoi Kohaku avait choisi d’épouser Mozu. Ils n’avaient rien en commun et ils n’allaient pas du tout ensemble. Comment Kohaku faisait pour ne pas s’ennuyer avec lui ? En plus Mozu était un vrai dragueur. Il aimait séduire toutes les jolies femmes qu’il croisait. En fait, Senku savait qu’il exagérait. Mozu s’était calmé depuis qu’il était en couple avec Kohaku et l’important c’était qu’elle soit heureuse.

Mais pourquoi Mozu ? Pensa Senku. Pourquoi ne pouvait-elle pas être heureuse avec lui ? Senku soupira bruyamment. Pour un génie, il avait était incapable de comprendre qu’il était amoureux de Kohaku avant qu’il ne soit trop tard. C’est terminé, pensa-t-il. Elle allait épouser Mozu et il ne pouvait rien n’y faire. Qu’est-ce qu’il croyait ? Il ne lui avait jamais montré aucun sentiment amoureux, il était normal qu’elle fasse sa vie sans lui. Senku sursauta lorsque la porte de son bureau s’ouvrit avec grand fracas. Taiju entra, suivit par Yuzuriha.

« Senku ! Cria Taiju. Tu n’es pas encore prêt ? »

Senku se bougea les oreilles. Il était sûr que toute la ville l’avait entendu.

« C’est bon, répondit Senku avec lassitude. Je n’ai qu’une veste à enfiler.

-Tu ne veux pas faire un effort pour t’habiller. C’est un grand jour aujourd’hui, dit Yuzuriha.

-Ce n’est pas moi qui me marie. »

Il retourna à son rapport, ne voyant pas le regard qu’échangèrent ses deux amis.

« Est-ce que tu es sûr que ce mariage ne te pose pas de problème, reprit Yuzuriha.

-Pourquoi ça me poserait problème ?

-À cause de tes sentiments pour Kohaku, dit Taiju avec conviction. »

Senku s’arrêta de taper sur les touches de son clavier et se tourna vers son ami. Il n’avait parlé de ses sentiments pour Kohaku à personne et il était surpris de voir que Taiju pouvait être aussi perspicace. Senku se reprit vite. Il n’avait jamais parlé de ses sentiments et ce n’était pas maintenant qu’il allait commencer.

« Qu’est-ce que tu racontes le mastodonte ? Demanda-t-il avec indifférence. »

Taiju s’approcha de lui et posa sa main sur son épaule.

« Senku. »

Il parlait calmement, ce qui était inhabituel pour lui.

« Je sais que tu es amoureux de Kohaku depuis des années. Je l’ai su avant même que tu ne t’en rende compte. »

Il lui sourit tristement.

« Sur ce coup là, tu n’as pas été très intelligent. »

Senku fronça les sourcils. Il n’avait pas besoin d’entendre ça. Il avait été stupide et il le regretterait toute sa vie. Taiju le secoua et il avait cette lueur dans le regard que Senku connaissait. C’était cette lueur d’optimiste qu’il avait à chaque fois que les choses allaient mal et qu’il était sûr que tout allait s’arranger.

« Ne baisse pas les bras. Ce n’est pas trop tard. »

Senku se dégagea de la prise de son ami. Il se trompait. C’était trop tard.

« C’est bon Taiju. Tout est terminé.

-Non ! Ce n’est pas terminé. »

Il regarda en direction de Yuzuriha.

« Dis-lui. »

Celle-ci écarquilla les yeux, mal à l’aise. Elle ouvrit plusieurs fois la bouche, mais aucun son n’arrivait à sortir.

« Me dire quoi ? S’impatienta Senku. »

Il plongea son regard dans le sien et Yuzuriha était de plus en plus mal à l’aise. Elle tortilla nerveusement ses doigts. Elle regarda Taiju qui hocha vigoureusement la tête pour l’encourager.

« Yuzuriha ! »

Elle sursauta en entendant le ton sévère de Senku. Elle soupira. Ni lui, ni Taiju ne lui laissaient le choix.

« Lors de son enterrement de vie de jeune fille, Kohaku avait trop bu, expliqua-t-elle. Elle m’a avoué qu’elle n’était plus sûre de vouloir épouser Mozu et que son plus gros regret... »

Elle se tût. Ce qu’elle allait révéler allait changer la vie de ses amis. Est-ce qu’elle pouvait révéler ce que Kohaku lui avait confié ? Même si Kohaku était sous l’emprise de l’alcool ? Mais Senku était son meilleur ami et elle ne supportait pas de le voir malheureux.

« Son plus gros regret était de ne t’avoir jamais dit qu’elle t’aimait. »

Senku écarquilla les yeux, surpris. Elle l’aimait. Kohaku l’aimait.

« Tu entends ça Senku ! Cria Taiju en le secouant plus vigoureusement. Elle t’aime ! Il n’est pas trop tard ! Vas vite la retrouver ! »

Senku sentit un électrochoc dans tout son corps. Il se leva brusquement, faisant tomber sa chaise, et sortit de son bureau en courant. Il n’avait plus le temps d’analyser la situation. Il devait vite retrouver Kohaku et lui dire ce qu’il ressentait.

« J’espère qu’on a bien fait, dit Yuzuriha. »

Kohaku se regarda dans le miroir, tandis que Ruri lui attachait son voile. Elle portait sa robe de mariée. Elle était d’un blanc traditionnel et lui arrivait jusqu’aux pieds. Il y avait de fines bretelles et des perles étaient brodées sur le buste. Elle n’avait jamais porté une robe aussi belle et élégante.

« Tu ressembles à une princesse, dit Ruri. »

Kohaku sourit. C’était bien la première fois qu’on la comparait à une princesse. Après l’avoir aidé, Ruri sortit de la pièce. Kohaku se regarda une nouvelle fois dans le miroir et soupira. Elle allait bientôt se marier. Ça devrait être le plus beau jour de sa vie. Alors pourquoi est-ce qu’elle n’était pas heureuse ? Elle aimait Mozu mais elle ne ressentait pas cette passion. Ce sentiment qui vous emporte, où un simple regard de l’être aimé vous fait frémir et où l’on serait prêt à le suivre jusqu’au bout du monde.

Ce sentiment, Kohaku ne l’avait ressenti que pour une seule personne. Senku. Mais malheureusement, ce n’était pas partagé. Alors elle avait décidé d’avancer et quand Mozu l’avait invité à sortir avec lui, elle avait accepté. Et maintenant, ils allaient se marier. Elle aimait Mozu sinon elle n’aurait jamais accepté de l’épouser. Mais elle ne l’aimait pas comme elle aimait Senku. Elle ne pourra jamais aimer personne comme elle aimait Senku. Elle ne lui avait jamais avoué ce qu’elle ressentait. Elle n’en avait pas besoin. Elle était son amie, sa partenaire, mais il n’était pas amoureux d’elle.

Elle avait fini par écouter ses amis et sa sœur et elle avait avancé. C’est comme ça qu’elle s’était mise en couple avec Mozu. Elle s’était souvent demandé ce qu’il se serait passé si elle avait déclaré ses sentiments à Senku et s’il l’aimait en retour. Est-ce que se serait lui qu’elle épouserait ? Kohaku secoua violemment la tête. Cela ne servait à rien de repenser à tout ça. On frappa à la porte. Ruri devait avoir oublié quelque chose.

« Entre Ruri.

-Ce n’est pas Ruri. »

Kohaku écarquilla les yeux en voyant le reflet de Senku dans le miroir. Elle se retourna et il avait une lueur dans le regard qu’elle n’avait jamais vu.

« Tu es… Magnifique. »

Kohaku rougit et le remercia. C’était la première fois qu’il lui faisait un tel compliment.

« Tu voulais me dire quelque chose ? Demanda-t-elle. »

Elle ne pensait pas le voir avant la cérémonie. Il avait répondu à l’invitation, mais il n’avait pas l’air intéressé par son mariage. D’un geste nerveux, il passa sa main dans ses cheveux. Lui qui était toujours sûr de lui, c’était la première fois que Kohaku le voyait ainsi. Il prit une profonde inspiration.

« Ne l’épouse pas ! »

Kohaku eut l’impression d’avoir le souffle coupé.

« Qu’est-ce que... »

Elle ne pouvait rien ajouté d’autre, elle n’arrivait pas à réfléchir.

« Ne l’épouse pas, répéta-t-il. Tu ne devrais pas être avec lui, ni avec personne d’autre. Tu devrais être avec moi. »

Le cœur de Kohaku s’emballait, et elle avait l’impression que ses jambes allaient céder sous elle.

« Je t’aime et j’ai été stupide de ne pas m’en être rendu compte avant. »

Cela faisait tellement longtemps qu’elle attendait une telle déclaration de sa part. Mais pourtant…

« Pourquoi maintenant ? Demanda-t-elle. Pourquoi tu as attendu le jour de mon mariage ? »

C’était plus fort qu’elle. Elle sentait la colère l’envahir, ainsi que la tristesse. Pourquoi fallait-il qu’il lui déclare ses sentiments alors qu’elle avait décidé de l’oublier et d’épouser Mozu. Elle sentit les larmes lui monter aux yeux.

« Va-t’en Senku. Va-t’en je t’en pris. »

Senku ne bougea pas jusqu’à ce que Kohaku lui demande une nouvelle fois de partir. Il sortit et elle se retint de ne pas éclater en sanglots.

Kohaku se trouvait dans la salle où se déroulait la cérémonie. Tous les regards étaient braqués sur elle, ainsi que celui de Mozu. Elle se sentait comme paralysée. Tout le monde attendait qu’elle dise : « Je le veux. », mais tout ce à quoi elle pensait, c’était Senku. Il l’aimait et tous les sentiments qu’elle avait pour lui et qu’elle avait essayé d’oublier avait refait surface avec une force inimaginable.

« Kohaku, est-ce que tout va bien ? Demanda Mozu. »

Elle le regarda. Il était dans son costume de marié, prêt à passer sa vie avec elle. Mais elle ne pouvait pas l’épouser. Elle se sentait ignoble. Quelle genre de personne était-elle pour abandonner son fiancé le jour de leur mariage ? Mais elle ne pouvait pas passer sa vie avec lui. Elle ne pouvait pas l’aimer comme il devait être aimé. Si elle l’épousait, ils finiraient par être malheureux tous les deux. Une larme coula le long de sa joue.

« Je suis désolée, dit-elle. »

Mozu fronça les sourcils.

« Je suis vraiment désolée, répéta Kohaku. Je ne peux pas t’épouser. »

Elle se retourna et sortit en courant de la salle. Elle savait que tous les regards étaient sur elle. Surpris, consternés, inquiets. Elle faisait peut-être une erreur. Elle faisait du mal à beaucoup de personne, surtout à Mozu, mais elle ne pouvait pas s’enlever de la tête que Senku l’aimait comme elle l’aimait. Elle sortit du bâtiment. Senku était là, adossé à sa voiture. Il regardait par terre, comme s’il avait tout le poids du monde sur ses épaules.

« Senku ! »

Il leva la tête et quand son regard croisa le sien, elle sut tout de suite que malgré tout ce que cela appliquait, elle prenait la bonne décision. Elle se précipita vers lui et se jeta dans ses bras. Il la serra contre lui et ils s’embrassèrent. Leur premier baiser, rempli de promesse et exprimant tout ce qu’ils ressentaient depuis tellement longtemps.

« Emmène-moi avec toi et partons loin d’ici. »

Senku acquiesça, un immense sourire aux lèvres. Ils montèrent dans la voiture et Senku démarra vers une destination inconnue. Ils savaient qu’ils auraient à affronter les conséquences de leur acte. Mais tant qu’ils s’aimaient, rien ne pourrait les arrêter.
