Anyone have more info, or even the audio on this attraction at the defunct AutoWorld? By the looks of it, it was done by Elnicky Enterprises (who did Hot Fudge and a lot of the outsourced SBPP stages). I believe the only proof of this shows existence is in the documentary ‘Roger & Me’, where the narrator, Michael Moore, describes the attraction as “An autoworker singing a love song to the machinery that’s replacing him on the assembly line.��. That song appears to be title ‘Me & My Buddy’.

I'm looking further into this, but I found footage of what appears to be another potential Elnicky bot!

Embed is timestamped, but there's quite a lot of other animatronics showcased as well!

I'll keep digging on this, and I'll post updates if anything surfaces.

UPDATE: INFORMATION OBTAINED!

Me and My Buddy was, in fact, by Elnicky! Furthermore, the bot in the video was also Elnicky, and was from a show called Dreams On Wheels. Any other animatronics at Autoworld was built by Applied Entertainment Systems.

the first omen

sky turned soot. turned smoke, storm, charcoal, thunder- gray. then black, blacker than the smoke from the stacks at the wagon works, before they closed it. then the storm, the rage, for forty nights and forty days, it felt like. it felt biblical, or like something out of myth. the apocalyptic kind.

this was not the gentle rain of the hyades. this was zeus, and he was pissed. it was nightdark even in the middle of the day, from the end of march, through april, almost into may. the only light came from the lightning; god’s forked electric tongues arcing across the sky, licking the armored spines

of autoworld. and o the thunder, the hail, and the rain. roaring, pouring down over genesee county. it rained so much the flinty river forded its banks, crawled up onto the land like something living, sent chevys and buicks swirling down the streets, filled basements with its olio of oil and grease, its chromium and lead.

rained so much that soil turned quickmud, sucked the boots right off your feet if you dared step off the concrete. even concrete wasn’t safe from the sudden soddenness; foundations crumbled, even our favorite things— toward the end of that endless storm, the ground at sunset hills cemetery gave way.

the crack the whip sculpture came tumbling down the hill, taking out gravestones as it went, sliding sliding all the way down to the bloated, ravenous river, where it washed a ways down- stream before settling at the bottom. when the rain finally stopped, we almost didn’t believe it. figured it was a fluke.

the air was still wet, and the sky cloudfull, with that bruise- yellow sheen it gets between storms. but after a week without rain, after the flood had begun to recede and the ground began to dry, we all went down to the river to see it. the bronze children, holding hands beneath the surface of the water. down there with the walleye and the slag.
