couldn't resist and I made this into a Na'vi reader bc why not, but let me know if you wanted something different!

Eclipse had set; however, you weren’t out of the woods yet.

You were still held captive, the avatar holding your queue in a tight grasp, often yanking it to keep you still, in which you return by hissing at him. Spider, who was being held in front of you to scold them. “Stop that.”

It didn’t help that rain also started to pour moments ago.

“Watch your 6.” You could hear the leader say to the one holding you, leading him to haul you when turning, still pulling on your queue making you grunt. You couldn’t do anything as your hands were clasped together.

You just breathed in deeply.

Then a few seconds passed, the sounds you could hear were only the pattering of rain and occasional animal sounds. But then an all too familiar sound catches your ear, making it twitch towards that direction, with you turning your head.

You could tell your siblings and Spider heard it too.

Seeing Spider take a quizzical look at Lo’ak and for him to nod, you guessed it had confirmed Spider’s guess.

It was your mother.

You heard it again.

Opening your mouth as you let out a prayer, you could only thank Eywa that they found you, and that you pray for the ones who are about to face the wrath of your mother and father.

“Shut up!” He whisper-shouted at you, tugging on your queue again making you wince.

You continued, looking the guy in the eye as he moved in front of you. “Shut u—”

He didn’t get to finish as an arrow came straight through his head.

You gasp as the others took action.

Then you were pushed to the side along with Spider as they opened fire out in the forest.

Lo’ak then made the smart decision to set off the gas on one of the avatar’s vest, spraying everywhere.

Then you could see Tuk and Lo’ak bite the arms of their captors, successfully letting them go.

“Go, go, go!” Lo’ak ushered, helping Tuk climb over the branch.

“Run!” Spider said to you, hoisting you up and you followed him.

You can almost taste the escape when your queue was suddenly dragged again, making you scream and Spider to turn around with a horrified look on his face.

Trying to break free, you were once again released as an arrow came through, barely missing you and hitting your captor, sending him flying over to the side.

You froze, only regaining your senses when Spider reached out to you, grabbing you and pushing you in front of him to give you a head start. “Run!” He shouted again.

For Spider, your safety was his priority.

Continuous gun shots rang in your ears as you ran.

“Come on!” Spider said as you kept running.

Then you heard silence, followed by a shout and another round of ammunitions being released.

It continued then suddenly there was an explosion.

It made your heart spike, panic filling your senses once again.

“Spider, come on hurry!” You said.

It was too late as another explosion happened just behind you, sending you to the ground as Spider was knocked off, tumbling down onto the lower ground as he screamed in pain.

“Spider!!” You screamed, halting in your movements, your eyes flickering to see if you can find his figure in the dark.

“Spider!” You shouted once more as you look to the side to see your mother approaching. “(Y/N)!”

You didn’t listen. “Spider!” You still called out.

Then you felt your mother tugging on your arm forcefully, making you stumble back as she pulled you. You resist.

“Spider, he’s down there!” You shout. “Come. We must go, (Y/N)!” Her voice was firm, her hold on your arm was strong.

You take a quick glance at your mother as you looked down. Then you glanced back up at your mother. You knew she didn’t have an ounce of liking towards Spider, but you didn’t care.

You wanted Spider back.

“I’m not leaving him.” You growled at her, breaking free from her hold as you jumped off.

“(Y/N)! (Y/N) no! My child!” You could hear Neytiri scream for you before another explosion sounded, making her spare one more glance at you before fleeing, her thoughts clashing against one another.

You let out pained grunts as your body was met with multiple obstacles, but nothing you weren’t used to. Only then when you finally hit the ground you noticed the restraints on your wrists was broken.

“Spider, spider!” You called, dodging and jumping over branches and vines until you finally found him under a branch.

“Spider, hey... Hey we’ve got to go.” You say, you shake him but it seems like the fall has knocked him out, which also left a few gashes on his sides, his body covered in dirt.

Your heartbeat drummed in your ears as you heard the crunching of footsteps nearing you. You listened intently, knowing that there was only one approaching.

You hurriedly carried Spider to the best of your ability, managing to move him a few feet away when suddenly another one of those avatars appeared.

“I’ve got the boy, sir.” He spoke into his comms.

You took out your dagger. Being one of the eldest has certainly taught you a hefty amount of self defence and you really work well with a dagger.

“Got it, boss, there’s another one here, seems to be protecting him.”

You hiss loudly at him, your ears flattening. You hovered over Spider’s body to shield him from the avatar, dagger held tightly in hand.

“Aw, that’s cute. But you’re gonna have to go, kitty. I don’t want to use this on you.” He said, pertaining to his gun.

Your lips pursed into a thin line, already thinking of what you were going to do when he throws his gun to the side, him pulling out his knife.

“Let’s do this the old-fashioned way.” Then he lunges.

You dashed to the side, jumping over the small terrain, not letting him get close to Spider. He followed you quickly.

You jumped back down, swinging your dagger at him, sending him back.

He then lunges forward at you again, but you were quicker, nimbler as you moved to his side, but he managed to land a small slice, nothing to deep, but it still stung.

You retaliate by slicing behind his knee and kicking it, him letting out a pained yelp as his knee fell to the ground. You were now behind him as you now dashed forward again, you manage to land your dagger on his back as he screamed in pain.

You let go of your dagger stuck to his back as he turned to face you. You felt the adrenaline pumping in your veins as you stared him down.

You were now empty handed.

Making a move, you jumped on his back, quickly wrapping an arm around his neck, putting him in a headlock.

He was much bigger than you and he could easily throw you off, but you didn’t let go. You tightened your grip as you screamed when his knife went down to your thigh. In your effort, you grabbed your dagger once more, taking it off before plunging it on his shoulder this time, nearly close to his neck.

All you could see was red. You weren’t going to give up Spider that easily.

You took your knife again before plunging it again in the same spot then you went back on strangling him.

He tried fighting your hold, his knife forgotten as it clunked to the ground, while his hands tried to reach you.

You evaded him, you felt him tapping on your arm as he was slowly losing air.

Not too long before his actions ceased, body dropping to the ground as you hissed at his unconscious state, grabbing your dagger and limping over Spider’s body, hissing and looking around.

You knew their team would be back any time soon and you had to get moving.

As your adrenaline ran out, you look to your thigh.

“Shit.” You utter

After tying a makeshift bandage for your thigh, you tried carrying Spider to someplace safe, where you knew you’d be safe for the meantime.

So after taking care of Spider, you watched over him.

When he finally stirred awake, he jolted, looking everywhere before he spots you.

“(Y/N).” He spoke.

“I couldn’t... I couldn’t leave you behind.” You reply.

Spider spots the bandage on your thigh, then the faint cut on your scar, making him scurry over to your side. “What happened?”

“One of them was going to bring you in...” You kept the story short.

“Holy shit.” Spider said in awe, but it quickly turned to worry for you. “Why didn’t you run? Look what happened to you.”

“I’m not leaving you.” You said firmly.

As much as you liked the boy, he was quite slow at times. But tonight, that seemed different as he looked at you.

His hand slowly reached up to your chest, to where your heart would be, as he felt it beating a little faster with his touch.

In turn, you smile at him, your even bigger hand going to his chest to feel his heartbeat. You flattened your palm on him as your free hand grabbed his that was on your chest, giving it a light squeeze.

“Thank you.” He said in a whisper, moving closer, resting his forehead on yours, the exopack being the only thing separating your face from touching.

“I see you.” You say, giving him a soft tap on his chest with your palm.

Spider let out a deep breath, blinking at you as he returned the affection.

“I see you.”

Imagine instead of hating Spider Neytiri took one look at this tiny baby and fell in love…..amazed at how tiny human babies are

Jake: He’s the tiniest….

The mental image of neytiri holding this tiny, sleeping, whispy, blonde-headed baby in her hand, and her hand isn't that big in comparison to other na'vi, with this look of pure bliss and infatuation. gold, pure gold, I love it.

I love to imagine what it would be like if she took him in as her own. like he is so tiny and so fragile compared to her and her own children, she has to hold him like glass. she goes up to the lab to see the little thing, she find any reason to stay there so she can spend time baby wearing him (she baby wears, its her favorite thing to do, she loves keep her children close, and looking down to see a sleeping child pressed against her, makes her happy).

when he can wear an exopac, she still spends her time fauning after the little human, wearing him on her back while she holds her youngest in the front. struggling to braid the tiny hair on his tiny head with her big fingers. worrying at the slightest of slips or falls of her little human child.

now this is all I want to think about.

Hey I just had a thought what if Tuk and Lo'ak got into an argument Lo'ak screams at Tuk saying he wishes she was never born yaknow the usual mean siblings thing to say when your siblings are annoying Tuk runs away crying she gets lost in the forest falls hurts her ankle cries out for anyone near by but no one is around so she cries than Spider comes because he snuck out hells gate after getting into it with his foster family for disrespecting him and his friends so he goes to a river that he likes to go to to relax no one not even Kiri or Lo'ak knows his secret hideout, as he was star gazing he hears crying making him walk towards the sound and is surprised to see Tuk crying while holding her ankle he asks her what happened and she does making him frown he definitely was gonna give Lo'ak a piece of his mind but he to focus all his attention on helping Tuk he so how much damage there was to her ankle and it look like she might have sprung it he laid down and picked her up on his back carrying her towards where the village was on the way he was trying anything to cheer her up make it seem like she was going to be fine and she was telling him how her and Lo'ak have got into a fight because she wanted to spend time with him and he didn't want to spend time with her and just thought she was annoying. Spider tells her he thinks she's a cool kid that she shouldn't listen to what Lo'ak says because he was being a jerk that makes her smile and he says that he wished that he had a little sister or brother because it gets lonely being an only child so Tuk replies with "But I thought I was your little sister?" which caught Spider by surprise because he didn't think that she thought of him like a big brother you know with Neytiri trying to make sure that Tuk is nowhere around Spider because you know she doesn't really like him because he's human and doesn't like her children being close to him so that really makes his heart flutter at the thought that Tuk thinks of him as family so it made him smile.

Meanwhile Lo'ak is panicking because he doesn't know where his sister is and trying to find her before his parents came back with the help of Kiri and Neteyem after telling them what happened Kiri hit him upside the head telling him that he was an irresponsible idiot for hurting their little sister's feelings which he already feels bad about what he said to Tuk he search everywhere for her but with no luck so they have no choice but to tell their grandmother and their parents which got him in a lot of trouble with Jake before they can't go searching again they see Spider and Tuk being carried on his back who is asleep Neytiri was the first to come running towards the two making Spider freeze up in a bit of fear from the angry in the mother's eyes she leans down and takes Tuk from him causing the child to wake up and start to cry from seeing her family and gets hugged by her mother and Father

Spider explains to Jake where he found Tuk and that she sprained her ankle which he had wrapped up with a bandage (he learned from always hurting himself and learning from Norm) Jake let out a sigh of relief and thanks Spider for bringing Tuk home and messes up Spiders hair before walking towards his family, Neytiri just stands there holding Tuk while stares at Spider with unreadable face expression than gives a nod of gratitude she might not have liked the child from the sky but she was grateful that he helped her daughter.

Spider nods back than turns to glare at Lo'ak telling him to apologize to his sister and watch what he says next time cuz he never knows what he says might actually be the last thing he says to her or what if Spider wasn't around to find her she could have gotten hurt or worse. Lo'ak looks down and started to tear up and nods his head at him before walking to go find Tuk Neteyem walks over and offers to take Spider home Kiri was with their grandmother helping with Tuk's ankle at first spider wanted to decline his offer because he knows that Neteyem isn't really close with him bu Neteyem just shake his head and says he doesn't mind after they couldn't find his sister he didn't feel comfortable letting someone else walk home alone at night even if Spider was older he was small and could easily get hurt by the creatures on Pandora it was lucky that they didn't attack him in Tuk spider rolled his eyes but was too tired to try to defend himself so they get on Neteyam's ikran and fly back to hells gate after that the next morning spider came back to the village he saw Tuk who now love spending more time with him than she does with most of her siblings no literally everywhere where Spider goes she follows he even told her about his secret spot but she had to keep it a secret from her siblings which she did and she could only go if Spider was going and they made sure to tell her parents and siblings that he was with her at first Neytiri was against it but remember that Spider had did and was there for her daughter so she was at my okay with it only a little, Jake had no issues with it just wanted the children to be careful Lo'ak basically had to listen to everything that Tuk needed or wanted basically it was his punishment for hurting her feelings and causing her to run away from home but they were both up sorry and they apologized to each other so good ending for everyone

but here's the sad part let's just say after Spider was taken Tuk did not really smile or laugh for a good couple of days she missed her older brother and she always had to cry herself to sleep which Kiri had to help her sleep Neytiri was sad that her daughter was upset and tried everything to make her happy but the only thing her youngest daughter could ever say that would make her happy was

"I want my big brother! I want Spider back Mama!"

Yeah it took awhile to calm her down poor kid just wants her big brother back home before they left their home Tuk went to Spider secret hiding spot and made and prayed to Eywa the great mother that he was safe and would return it home and with that her and her family left their home

oh its complicated.

they are terrified of losing him again, but he isn't little and fragile anymore, he is big and blue, just like them, and he may be their little brother but he's not little; he's the same age they were when they went to war for him. he's their equal physically, through eywa and his own efforts at healing, he's damn near close to it mentally, though that's not saying much (the emotional state of this family is a fucking nightmare). there is no longer a field he needs protecting on anymore, so they just have to be protective big siblings, acting as though a speck of dust or mumbled insult will kill him, even if he thinks they're crazy.

not only that, but he has been marked not only a warrior, but a war chief by eywa. he doesn't fight in battles, he leads the battles. so as much as it terrifies them to let him march into war, they have to. they become like a personal guard, fighting in front of him, making sure their little brother isn't taken from them again.

when the war is over, its back to bubble-wrapping the boy.

fluffier ways they protect him include

family sleep piles, particularly after spider executes lyle and spares his dad cause the boy has ✨nightmares✨

neteyam will pick him up and move him away from any danger, despite spider being taller than him once he's fully grown (spider was taller than both jake and quaritch in his human form, so in avatar form he'd be fucking huge) which is really awkward and really funny to watch.

tuk, who is the most violent sibling (in the ✨cute✨ way) will bite, stab, and otherwise maim anyone who looks at her brother wrong.

Neteyem and Spider angst

I just had a sad thought while I was at work imagine that Neteyem looked up the Spider as his big brother when they were kids but then he started noticing how his mother didn't really like him around Spider and he always glared at him and treated him differently from how he treated him and his siblings so he kind of started just distancing himself from Spider and actually stopped calling Spider his big brother even stopped using the nickname Spidey that he gave him it got worse when they got older when they got into an argument over Kiri and Lo'ak spending to much time with Spider and that when Neteyem calls him a demon by accident he didn't even noticed the words leave his mouth until he saw the look of hurt on Spider's face, when he tried to apologize Spider just walked away without a word leaving Neteyem upset I'm going to say like a couple of days went by when that incident happened and literally nobody knows what happened between the two, Kiri asked Neteyem why he started to act like their mother when it came to Spider when they were kids he always called Spider "big bro or Spidey " what had changed? Neteyem couldn't even come up with anything to say but look down Kiri just shakes her head and leaves and when she does Neteyem falls to the ground crying not loud but it was a silent cry, he missed being a kid, having fun with his siblings and most of all he missed his big brother....

I need to stop writing all this Angst it's making me tear up!
