It says a lot about the unhealthy culture in motorsport that drivers are repeatedly pushed to ignore discomfort and pain until it gets to a point where they realise they’ve been racing with injuries for a prolonged time. We saw Alex dismissing his own repetitive lacerative injuries to his back last year. This isn’t limited to McLaren.
