"Hey, we should catch up again soon!" says Anya to Saffy. "Maybe we can have a girls' night out together after Roy and I are back from Paris? What do you say?"

Saffron can feel her cheeks pinkening with pleasure. She hopes that Anya will think her flushed face is the result of her exertions on the ice.

"Yeah, sure," she says with a shrug. "Text me."

"Oh, and good luck tonight with your dinner!" Anya winks."His parents are going to totally love you."

"Ugh, I don't know about that," says Saffron. "They sound kind of judgy."

"Saffy, what's not to love? You're smart, articulate, and gorgeous. How could any parents not be thrilled that their son is going out with you?"

"Oh, stop," says Saffron with a self-mocking roll of her eyes. Anya laughs and then gives a gasp as Roy grabs her from behind and spins her around to give her a passionate and noisy kiss.

"Ew, ew, ewwwww," says Saffron, clapping her hand over her mouth and pretending to dry-retch. "Your PSA is giving me PTSD!"

Saturday, August 28th, 1954

It was a warm summer night, the last Saturday before the start of the new school year, and like most days during the summer, the girls and the boys of Bridgeport, Connecticut were hanging out at the drive-in theater. For those old enough to have cars, it was also the only time they could make out with each other without their parents finding out. Sixteen year old Charles Schmidt was one of those lucky teens. He had just passed his drivers test and his father bought him a brand new car as a celebration. When fathers were wealthy, they could afford to do that.

Charles had spent the majority of the summer hanging out with Lorraine Moran. She was an odd girl that he had never really paid much attention to before this summer. The rumors about her were many, but they all seemed to be centered around her talking to the dead. His friends, the rich popular boys and the football jocks, couldn’t understand why he was wasting his time with her, but he knew why. She was a virgin, sweet and innocent, and that became something he was interested in now.

The typical girls who threw themselves at him were not the ones he wanted anymore. They were all easy and sleazy and they just weren’t any fun. Now, trying to take a girl’s virginity? Having to work for it and getting to forever be the first guy a girl had was his new goal. He wanted to ‘collect’ as many virgins as he could within the next two years before he graduated high school and Lorraine Moran was first on his list.

So far, the only thing Lorraine would let him do was make out with her and that’s exactly what they were doing at the moment they were supposed to be watching the movie. His tongue was deep in her mouth and his hand was deep up her skirt. He was growing hard as a rock and if she didn’t touch him soon, he was going to explode. He just wished she would stop being so hard to get. He wanted a challenge but this was almost too much. He had been courting this girl since the start of June. It was about time she gave in already.

He supposed his time with her wasn’t a total waste, though. She did help him plan the back to school pep rally, helped him make his class president signs and posters, and spread the word that he was running for president again and reminded people how good he was at it last year. She was a good little campaign manager if he did say so himself. Plus, with her by his side, he was going to get the sympathy vote from the freaks of the school who related to Lorraine. He couldn’t lose.

Saffron and Anya take their coffee mugs to the upstairs balcony outside Anita and Joël’s bedroom, the winter sun blinking clear and sharp and casting cold crisp shadows over the city skyscrapers.

“What an an amazing view,” says Anya.

“It can’t be as amazing as the view from Roy’s penthouse,” scoffs Saffron.

“Well, it’s pretty damn close,” says Anya. She sips her coffee and closes her eyes. “Oh, that’s so good. Another three or four coffees and I might actually be able to function.”

“What did you do last night?” says Saffron.

“I went to a friend's party,” says Anya. “And drank way too much punch.”

“Did Roy go too?”

“He stayed home. He had to pick the kids up early this morning. Besides, he thinks it’s inappropriate for him to go to parties filled with people my age. He thinks he’s going to be judged for being older or something.”

“Not like Roy to care about what other people think of him,” says Saffron.”He probably just didn’t want to go and that was his excuse.”

“Hmmm,” says Anya.

“He probably just doesn’t like your friends,” shrugs Saffron. “Do they like him?”

“Enough about me and Roy, I want to talk about you,” says Anya. “What’s the goss with your married man?”

“No goss,” says Saffron. “I just sort of caught feelings for a guy in my year and…told the married guy that it was over.”

“Oh my God! Saffron, you told me that the greatest thing about being with the married guy was that he couldn’t hurt you because it was just sex and you didn’t have any feelings for him! And now you’re saying you actually have feelings for someone? That’s huge!”

“I’m still not one hundred percent sure I’m not making a huge mistake,” says Saffron. ”It's scary as fuck. But I think he’s worth the risk. And…I’m meeting his parents tonight. They've invited me over for dinner."

Thanks to nice-and-quiet for sending this 1910 purple Edwardian in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It's a 2 family currently being used as a single family. According to the description, it can be converted back by replacing a wall that was taken down, so they don't list how many bds. and baths there are. $399K.

I imagine that the wall they removed was here in the entrance hall b/c these would be the stairs to the 2nd fl. apt.

The wall would likely go where the column is. Isn't that unusual? They exposed a chimney and placed a decorative structure around it.

Two sitting rooms may have been combined into one.

This home is very creative. Look at the dining room ceiling. And, there's also a fireplace.

The kitchen is adorable. The floor looks original and look at the reproduction stove. They even built in an armoire for a pantry. Looks like they put beams on the ceiling, too. Look at the little island they made out of a nightstand.

This looks like a bedroom upstairs.

I don't care much for what they did with this kitchen. I'm thinking that a wall was taken down to make it one open space.

If this was turned back into a 2 family, this could be a combination kitchen/living room.

This is one of the bathrooms and it's been remodeled.

In the attic, literally under the eaves, is a cozy apt. Cute living room.

QUEEN AND PRINCE JACQUES' BRIDGEPORT TOUR ENDS WITH SWANKY DINNER

How time flies when you're having fun! Her Majesty and Prince Jacques ended their three-day tour of Bridgeport last night.

HM and HRH were the guests of honour at the banquet thrown by The President of Bridgeport. The soiree was held at the Bridgeport House, which serves as the President's official residence. The grand presidential mansion was decorated in Brindleton Blossoms, Brindleton's national flower. Instead of rolling out the red carpet, HM and Prince Jacques were treated to a special blue carpet welcome, again, a nod to Brindleton's colour.

The A-list event was attended by some of the biggest names in Bridgeport and Brindleton. Case in point, the entertainment for the evening was none other than global superstar, Brianna, who serenaded the royal couple with some of her biggest hits.

The President also gave a toast to The Queen and The Prince, and thanked them not only for their historic visit to the country, but for further tightening the bond and friendship of the two nations.

The dinner marked the end of a jam-packed tour for HM and HRH. For the second day of their trip, they visited the stock exchange, a library, a museum, and even managed to stop and pose for a photo at the Bridgeport Harbour.

However, some reports from Bridgeport claim that the Queen looked "exhausted" during the white-tie event. That's not entirely surprising, looking at their very busy calendar alone - plus, these two aren't exactly spring chickens anymore!

Nevertheless, Her Majesty still managed to dazzle, thanks to her sparkly ombré gown which perfectly matched her ruby and diamond jewels.

A lot of royal fans were surprised to see HM wearing the Brindleton Foliage tiara for the occasion, seeing as she hasn't worn the piece in a while. Nowadays, she tends to opt for the big guns like the Brindleton Nest Tiara and this 300 year-old stunner.

The Queen and her Prince have reportedly landed back in Brindleton, ready to resume their duties after a day of rest.
