It really is amazing that people think there had to be some kind of unusual explanation for the Salem Witch Trials (like ergot poisoning or, even worse, actual witchcraft) when the Satanic Panic happened in the last quarter of the twentieth century.

I love that Strider is known and loved amongst Elves and he's besties with Legolas, canonical nepo-baby weirdo adhd loser from the sticks. He really shows up, charms everyone, then declares "I'm gonna go gallivanting with this mangy teen, I like him."
Everyone must have been so perplexed, like... "I suppose there's no accounting for taste..."

no but SP is so desperate to take yhk out of their own (honestly superior) 3rd round and show them his own special little 1863rd worldline like 'guys look! I have a perfect world too :)' and they are just Not having it. Kim Dokja goes back to his round in the end after accidentally convicing og 1863rd Yoo Joonghyuk to literally create the 3rd round and ruin all of Plotter's plans in the process. sp gives 3rd Yoo Joonghyuk 1863rd rounds records and he barely reacts or cares. THEN 1863rd Han Sooyoung ALSO leaves his super special worldine, as she was planning to do from the beginning, to go to the og worldline and eventually, the 3rd. Even the dokkeabi king dgaf about this world and lets hancorp kill him easily, and I cannot stress this enough, afterwards HE ALSO FUCKS OFF TO THE 3RD ROUND AS THE FOURTH WALL!! NO ONE LIKES YOUR SHITTY WORLD SP! he would probably be upset by this if he hadn't FUCKED OFF TOO, to live in domestic bliss with od!!! Oh my god!!!

You know people assume (and like it's their right to do so, its headcanons, etc etc don't come with pitchforks at me) that Bradley's youth queer experience would be very positive given Mav and the implied icemav of it all
But I think instead of making him more open about his sexuality in adulthood (or just unapologetic), it'd give the opposite result
This is to do with that, although he'd see happy queer people (Mav and Ice) behind closed doors, his childhood, mainly in the 80s and 90s, as well as Mav's and Ice's attitudes toward being open about their relationship, would teach him how cruel the world can be and the typical 'better safe than sorry' attitude being queer outside of typical queer spaces brings to many
He could see Mav and Ice love each other very very much, maybe to the point he'd even base his idea of love on them, but he'd also see how much maneuvering would keeping their relationship from the public cost. Sure, there are friends who supported them (flyboys, Carole, etc), but there were also countless people who would destroy their careers and lives if they ever found out (also if Mav ever adopted/fostered him, just suspicions of him being queer could put Bradley back in the system, the way things worked back in the 90s and also given how many fostering agency, even government employed, are christian-lead...)
In the instances someone would come close to discovering it, not only he'd see how distressing it can be but also how much being discovered would cost - whether this is personal safety, job security, respect, etc. And even if the worst didn't come to it, he'd still be left with the foil remarks and hate 'bullying'
As long as DADT was in place, I think he'd be equally if not more careful in comparison to what he had seen while with Mav and/or Ice
If anything I think Jake would have more of the naivety being openly and unashamedly queer takes (whether this is because he grew up in an environment with no visible queer people ergo never saw actual acts of hate toward them, or because he thinks he left the most hateful environment and nothing can be worse than it OR maybe because he is 100% or nothing kind of guy, no matter to what he commits)

So Sampo is canon described as the only person who can travel between the overworld and underground, but it's never actually revealed HOW he gets around.
I'd like to believe part of the reason he's so secretive really is just because of business. One of the best ways to keep your customers is by being the only one to offer something, and Sampo stands to make a pretty nice profit if he's the only one able to smuggle in supplies. Gotta protect the trade routes ☆
BUT the other part is because he's probably one of the only ones that could SURVIVE it. I'd like to think a lot of his routes enter the overworld either in places like Backwater Pass, where it's technically in the city but is overrun by Fragmentum, or on the frontlines, where it's frigid cold and crawling with Silvermane Guards.
If someone manages to get all the way up, and even if they manage to sneak past all of the Guards/monsters and not freeze to death, there's still the possibility of getting caught in the city proper by regular civilians.
And if Cocolia heard word of someone caught in the overworld, I can't imagine there's any way she would just leave that, she separated the halves for a reason. This person would be interrogated, and then the route sealed off, and then the Undergrounders would lose a vital supply route. Sampo has to be extremely careful to not get caught and not be tailed.
And I'm sure he does a lot of shady trading in Belobog proper, but I think a lot of it also comes from him looting the Fragmentum-corroded areas, too. After all, in the Cyrille the Fool quest line, when the trailblazer sees something strange in the Fragmentum, the first person they think to consult is Sampo.
So I love the thought of Sampo being like extremely disciplined and being able to be out there for like days at a time.
Looting is easier in the beginning, but eventually Sampo has to go farther and farther out for supplies. Sometimes he'll be out there for days, and it's not exactly a safe place to sleep, but he can stay awake and alert for absurd amounts of time if he needs to be. Going for 24+ hours isn't unusual for him on a big supply run; Sampo will be awake for a day or two, he'll bring back everything he finds to Natasha, then sleep for a solid 8-12 hours and be back up again. He takes a couple of low key days where he rests or does easy work, then he's ready to plunge into the fray again!
On the rare occasions he sleeps in the Fragmentum, it's not for very long, less than an hour, and Sampo has traps he sets all around him while he sleeps sitting up with daggers in hand. Caelus finds out about this habit the hard way because he gets restless and decides to go explore (I'd like to think with the Stellaron dwelling within him, he's largely immune to any kind of Fragmentum corrosion), and he sees Sampo curled up in a corner, head down. So of course he approaches to see if he's ok, and-
A trap pops and hisses
There's a bright flash of pink
Caelus blinks
His back hits the wooden wall behind him
There's the sound of reverberating metal-on-metal right next to his ear
Caelus blinks again
...and is shocked to suddenly find that Sampo is looming over him, pinning him to the wall, one dagger sunk into the wood and the other blocked by his metal bat.
And they both just stand there for a beat, until Sampo blinks the bleariness out of his unfocused eyes, and then he yawns obnoxiously right in Caelus' face and tells him he shouldn't interrupt people's beauty sleep! How is Sampo supposed to stay so handsome otherwise!?
Caelus only notices shortly thereafter that there's a thin line of blood on his neck, and he belatedly realizes that Sampo really would have taken his head off by pure instinct if he weren't also incredibly quick with his reflexes. No wonder he's the only undergrounder surviving out in the Fragmentum; anything that approaches in his sleep thinking they have easy prey is almost instantly demolished.

Proper refs + scale! Austin is the same height as Doc but has a slightly shorter wheelbase. He's also got no sideskirts and is a total cutie when he smiles.
Ratchet was shortened by his father figure and mechanic, Rundown, to lose weight and improve handling. He's still quite a lengthy car. His numberplate says "L8R".
Reg is just enormous but not quite truck scale, and has a lot of old bullet wounds from the wars and peeled paint from decades in high UV sunlight. His tray is made from Jarrah wood and he built it himself.

Something something the poetic irony that England - one of the Roman Empire’s least loved, bastard sons - would someday grow into the personification with the strongest claim of them all to being Rome’s heir.
Taking up his loathed and lamented conqueror/father’s doctrine of Pax, and even donning a red coat to replace the old scarlet cape once worn by Rome. When the ancient empire walked and ground the world down under his heel, so very long ago

This game has a post-apocalyptic setting in the American South, mainly in Louisiana. The technology is closer to 1800s and early 1900s. There is some magic, but it is rare and not seen highly

btw btw i think gallifrey has incredibly rich literary traditions. i think many of their stories are epic-length because time lords just have so fucking long to write their life's work. and i think courtly romance is a wildly popular genre for similar reasons to why it was popular in medieval europe, because it features an intensity of emotion that doesn't reflect their controlled and appearance-focused daily lives

Listening to Pax Britannica and for the first time realising that Nova Scotia means New Scotland 🤦🏻
I forget this is not something 99.9% of people in, like, literally grade 1 as a fun bit of trivia about where you live lol.
But yes! The tourism board leans into it and possibly the easiest course I took in high school was a 'Gaelic Studies' local history credit. There's an attempt to revive Scots Gaelic out on Cape Breton that's, like, non-zero amounts of credible, too.
