It was new year's eve when I got a call. It was the clinic and they had just told me that my mother's test came back positive. She has COVID, what a great way to start the Year. I have no idea whyyyyyy??/ like how? this woman always take care of herself, i mean she follows every rule, you know Hispanic and there paranoia. Either way we had to cancel the get together with my tias and the Snow Trip :( . Hope it gets better than this

It’s not been a good day. Today started off with bad news and a phone call brought more bad news and then I started to feel like nothing good could happen. When that happens, I like to go back and look at the photos I’ve worked on but haven’t published yet. Photos of the amazing places I’ve been and seen. Photos from better days where everything was exciting and alive. Photos of friends who have seen tougher days than me and instead of forgetting about those times, told them as cocktail stories. Today started off as a bad day, for reasons that I couldn’t control. That was out of my hands. But I did have the power to decide to react, or to act in spite of. I had the choice on what I did next. I could choose to wallow in those feelings or I could choose to withdraw some of the happiness I deposited and saved several months ago and share it. Today started off as a bad day and I had no say about that. But I got to decide how I was going to end today.

6am - 8am: Tremors, MS hugs, spasms, that God awful eye-rolling-to-the-back-of-your-head-until-your-temple-veins-are-throbbing, crying (tears, NOT sobbing 😉) 8:30am - this post: I started with meditation for the first time ever. The morning health issues elevated my need to calm TF down. I medicated, then meditated, THEN did my challenges. How do I feel now?
