This is very very cute and I love the imagery of Scorpion Queen scolding her wife and said wife’s henchmen for being evil when they have a little girl to take care of now. I can just see her crossing her arms, glaring and pouting. Spider Queen, who usually can stand her ground against anyone, cannot go against her lovely wife’s wishes.

I was actually thinking about this when making the "opinion on different OP ships" thing! Because I was like "mmm Sanuso is my OTP but also Namivivi and tbh that's just a polycule bc I ship Nami with these two too... And Kaya needs to be there...". And now I can't stop thinking also about Namivivi x Kaya--

I mean. Nami x Kaya is just amazing and OPLA gave us SO much content I wasn't expecting but gladly accepted as canon. Because they're both from pretty different environments when it comes to money and social upbringings but they both lost their families. Nami finds comfort in money while Kaya sees it pointless if you don't have anybody to share it with. It gives both of them different perspectives of the world around them and I think their dynamic is sooo well done. Kaya is the sweetest but she fights for herself when she can and Nami might run away from danger but she will never leave alone somebody in need of help. Also, they're both pretty motherly and attached to kids and idk I think their relationship would work SO well. Adding Kaya to the Sanusona polycule is the best thing ever to me.

And Vivi x Kaya!!!!! I wasn't thinking about it until I made the post but now that I do I can't,,,, Stop picturing them,,,, They're like "yeah this is my girlfriend's girlfriend" but they'd end up getting along SO well. Once again I think they'd be so cute together and they'd support each other so much. Vivi would understand that your position/money doesn't make you who you are and Kaya would admire Vivi's strength and her story. Also, all of them here understand the loss of parents but I think that being a public figure makes the experience even worse because it comes with responsibility others besides Vivi and Kaya won't understand. Vivi is the princess who managed to travel and become a pirate for a while and see the world and I think Kaya (even if she is happy in her village and doesn't need anything else) would want a bit of that freedom too!

For now, this is like, my favorite ship, I think? But tbh it just goes attached to the whole East Blue polycule just... A bit different than how other people ship them? Usopp and Kaya are already dating when the story starts, then Sanuso and Namivivi happen separately, I like to think Usonami have something going on but it doesn't happen anything until WCI when Nami realizes her feelings for Sanji, and then when they come back, Kaya has like. A ton of people to love and I adore them. Also Sanji has something with Luffy and Luffy has something with Zoro but this isn't about them--

I feel also the need to clarify that to me Usopp's gender is pretty much unlabeled and Sanji's like, transfem/genderfluid so my lesbian Nami hc still stands AND it just makes things even better because this way they're all sapphics and we deserve more sapphic ships here <33

a darker blue is my favourite dramione you have no idea (!). have only recently started reading dramione, haven’t found a fic that does it for me but i found ADB last night & was immediately pulled into your story & found myself absorbed, unable to put it down, well into the wee hours of the night.

your take on dramione is so refreshing, i loved the dual pov, the first person narration, the glimpses into their interiority—something i find missing in a lot of dramione fics. i loved their mutual vulnerability, draco is too often depicted as solely being on the back foot but hermione has vulnerabilities too! & your depiction of said vulnerabilities felt so real & true. & i loved the imagery in your fic, how atmospheric it felt, to say nothing of your characterizations & just? on a sentence by sentence level? love your prose, your fic is so gorgeously written, i could easily gorge myself on a million more words of it.

& i know you’ve been put off of dhr but i have to say, if you ever dip your toes back into these waters…we’ll be there no matter whattttt. i need to reread ASAP bc it’s the kind of fic where each new read is rewarding. <3

A Darker Blue was an incredibly difficult but rewarding undertaking and I struggled so much towards the end, so to hear feedback like this is truly so, so appreciated. I definitely wrote my own ideal dhr fic and I'm so glad it resonated with someone else. I definitely prefer a Hermione who is just as interesting and flawed as Draco, and I wanted to give her the space to be an anxious little mess.

I've toyed with writing them again. At the end of the day, they've always been my otp, it's just so miserable to create content while jkr does horrible things to the trans community. It sucks lmao. I do miss them, though and it is so easy to slip back into their character voices. I've outlined a fic for them and I poke at it now and again. Stuff like this makes me want to jump back in.

I fee like people are milking the Anger Management ship a little too often now when there are other ships they can go with. The only Danny x Cass ship that sailed and I’ve seen is in Lex Luther’s Ascent from Supervillainy to Fatherhood 😃 I kind of want to see Jazz and Dick getting closer because of being the oldest and/or Danny and a super kid! Danny x Duke is a ship that no one wants to dip their feet in 😔 they could bond over having powers or maybe everlasting quartet 🤔 (sam x danny x val x tucker) sorry im good at giving ideas out im just horrible at executing them 😭 also, Jazz x Babs? their ship Name could be Oracle Specter? Bc some hc jazz as a liminal and oracle liminal doesn’t sound as good 😀

Friend, I'll be real with you, I don't see the point of this message.

The following answer is not for you specifically, is to everyone out there that has said something similar. I can't just ignore it anymore.

I will say this once: why the need to stomp on something to highlight another? Why start with "I think Anger Management is too common/used/repetitive, when we could be doing this instead."

I'm sorry but this rubs me the wrong way, and I cannot find in me the energy to play nice when it isn't the first time I've seen people stomp on my favorite ship for the sole purpose to try and highlight other ships.

The sad part? I like other ships. Jazz/Dick (Nightbirds), Danny/Cass (Dead Silent) and all those you mentioned are okay.

(Jazz/Babs is Red Dead Redemption, but it can be changed)

Like, what's the point? Guilt trip people into making content for other ships? Make me feel bad enough so I write for other ships instead? I am not the DPxDC ships wizard, I don't wake up one day and decide which ship becomes popular.

I just saw the potential for Jazz and Jason, how interesting their dynamics could be, and run with it. I'm happy that my rarepair has become so popular that it has antis and detractors, it's such an honor to have started the fire that took my OTP out of rarepair hell.

Again, this isn't an attack on you personally, is a PSA to anybody out there being pissy about Anger Management and shitting on it just to make other ships look better or more interesting; or wondering out loud why this ship is popular and their ship is not, behaving as if it were all a plot to make Anger Management more popular on purpose.

Hello!! I decided to do both! This became so long I’m so sorry!!

Emira:

Favorite thing about them: Her relationship with Amity is my favorite thing, I love that it goes from strained/not great to being amazing. I love that she fully supports Amity as Amity tries to improve. I love that she’s supportive but still teases her sister. She’s a wonderful character.

Least favorite thing about them: honestly I can’t think of anything!! I’d say how she acted when we first see her but she grew and improved!! I’ll say my least favorite thing is that she didn’t get her own screen time

Favorite line: ‘is that so bad? You weren’t happy before’

Brotp: Can I say the Blight siblings?? All three of them are SO important to me and I love them with my whole heart, I need more blight siblings content!! her friendship with Luz is fun too.

Otp: I don’t really ship her with anyone but I know she was shipped with Viney during season 1 and I guess that’s cute!!

Random headcanon: Was incredibly worried about Amity when Amity was in the human realm but felt she needed to be the strong one (sorry for the angsty one, I love thinking about what it was like for her and Ed when Amity was gone)

Jack walked into the living room, following the mumbled sounds of his partner mulling over the strange cult that seemed to be so prominent in this town. Looking outside he could see that it was far too late at night for him to be so focused on the case they’d taken up on their own, but John was stubborn. Something Jack loved about him at times, and hated at others.

Right now, he hated it.

“John…” he called softly, catching the attention of the brunette, “It’s late, we need to go to sleep.”

“I don’t have time to sleep, we need to figure out what the hell is going on with this cult,” he grumbled, taking a sip from yet another dirty mug.

“John, come on, if you don’t get enough sleep you won’t be able to think properly, and what will you do then?”

“Speak for yourself, I can go days without sleeping…”

“Can you, or is that just something you tell yourself as an excuse to stay up working? Seriously, it’s time for bed.”

“I’m not going to sleep until I’ve figured out what the hell is going on in this town.”

Jack sighed quietly. He loved John, he really did, but days like this, when he was being more stubborn than Julie to go to sleep, he was always so frustrated with him. Thankfully he was able to figure out ways to make him go to sleep, and tonight seemed like just the night for one of his favorite methods.

“Alright, I didn’t want to have to do this, but you left me no choice,” the ravenette sighed as he walked over to his partner.

“Didn’t want to have to- JACK!!” the brunette yelped as he was suddenly scooped up under the arms and held off the ground against the taller’s chest.

“I’m taking you to bed whether you like it or not!” Jack announced, dragging his brunette co-worker away from the office and towards the shared bedroom.

“What the hell?! Jack, put me down! I NEED TO WORK ON THIS-”

“SHH! Julie’s asleep, what the hell are you thinking?!” Jack hissed at his partner as they passed the sleeping girl’s room.

“Oh, shit, right. But you can’t just make me go to bed! I am a grown man and I can make my own decisions!”

“He says, refusing to sleep…” the ravenette mumbled mockingly, earning a painful elbow in the ribs that almost made him drop the smaller.

Finally they reached the bedroom (with a lot of resistance from the older) and Jack dragged John onto the bed, holding him in his arms. The brunette grumbled and squirmed and pushed at Jack’s hands, trying to get away and go back to work, but at the same time, the warmth of him was just so… nice. So comforting and inviting. As much as he wanted to work, the thought of cuddles seemed to weaken his actions. Usually he’d be able to pull Jack off no problem but he found himself struggling to budge the taller’s hands.

“Wow, you’re still gonna try to be stubborn. C’mon, John, you really need to sleep. After all, you can’t think properly without a good night’s rest. And if that happens, you could make a mistake. It could set you pretty far back, you might even get stuck on square one again…”

That made John stop, even if only to think for a moment. He wanted to work on this case, he really did, but at the same time, he wanted to do so while he was at 100%, just to make sure he didn’t miss anything or get something wrong. And he knew Jack was right. He could end up messing up this case, or possibly something else, if he was too tired. But at the same time, he felt that sense of urgency trying to drag him back to the office.

“You already know that I can’t just leave this for tomorrow when I know I could do it today,” he finally argued. “Even if it takes me all night, I have to get this done.”

“I was afraid you’d say that… Please, John? I’m starting to worry about you. Is there another reason you’re not sleeping or something…?”

“No, I’m just working, I promise. You know I’d tell you if it was something else, don’t worry.”

“Good, good… but then, in that case, you really need to sleep. You know that…”

“And you know I won’t sleep until I’m done.”

“I thought you’d say that… but, thankfully, I know how to get you to sleep. The same way I get Julie to sleep!”

That confused John for a second, his mind flicking to how he gets her to sleep, with a story, a hug, and a nice warm drink. Until the brunette realized that Jack had a bit of a different method of getting her to sleep. One that was far more playful and better for tiring out the hyper child. And one that was far more embarrassing for the shorter.

“W-wait… you’re not thinking…?”

“Maybe I am thinking~”

“I-I- that’s childish, Jack!”

“Oh yeah? What happened to ‘childish’ when you tickled me in front of Patty?”

“That was different! You deserved it for scaring me like that!”

“Oh, I deserved it? Well, then maybe you deserve this for being a little brat and not going to bed!” He punctuated the last few words with pokes to John’s side, making the smaller flinch and curl up, covering the wobbly smile on his face.

“Y-you better quit that!”

“Quit what? This?~” the ravenette asked innocently as he continued to poke up and down his partner’s side, forcing the brunette to choke down embarrassing giggles.

“H-Hehey! Yes, thahat!”

“Why? After all, I’m barely doing anything to you, do why is it affecting you that much?~”

“Jahack!”

“It is because it leads to this?~” he squeezed at the older sides, earning a quiet snort before he heard some small, muffled giggles trying to break out.

“Or, is it because this leads to this?~” he clawed at John’s belly, making him let out a stifled squeak.

“PFF- mmmhmhmhm! Noho!”

“No? Then maybe it’s because this leads to thisss?~” his hands started climbing towards John’s ribs.

“Jahack I swehehear!” the small sheriff warned, grabbing at his deputy’s hands, only succeeding in uncovering his wobbly, blushy smile.

“What do you swear, John? Huh? What are you gonna do, with your handsome little smile?~” he cooed, admiring his partner’s growing blush, even if he proceeded to cover it up once more.

“Yeah, that’s what I thought~”

A squeal pierced the air as Jack finally pinched at his partner’s ribs, moving slowly from one to the other, up two and down one, occasionally darting to a random rib, all keeping John, who was finally letting himself laugh (not that he had much of a choice), guessing on where he might go next.

“Jahahack! Ahaha hey nohoho!” the brunette squawked out, attempting to curl in on himself and hide from the tickles.

“No what, John? No what?” the ravenette cooed.

“Tihihihickles!”

“Aww, ok, if you say so!”

“Wahait, that’s not what I- AAHAHAHA!!” the smaller broke off with a squeal as Jack finally reached his uppermost ribs, occasionally poking at his underarms, bringing his laugh to a near cackle. A squeak managed to escape him when Jack found a particularly sensitive spot on his upper ribs.

“Aww, was that a squeak? That’s adorable! Who knew a grumpy little fluff ball like you could squeak?”

“SHUHUT! IHIT WAHAS NAHAHAT!”

“Oh, come on, don’t tell me you’re embarrassed! Is the big man embarrassed because he’s a little ticklish?~” Jack cooed at his partner, who attempted to cover his face before yet another poke in his underarms forced his arms back down.

“JAHACK PLEHEHEHEASE!”

“Oh, begging? You must be getting tired now. But I still haven’t heard a single stop!~”

“JUHUST TOHOHONE IHIT DOHOHOWN!”

“No problem..” As per his request, Jack’s hands lowered down to the fluff ball’s belly, gently scratching at the soft skin as John’s laugh calmed down into soft giggles. When a yawn managed to break through, the ravenette changed it to soft traces that had the brunette just barely giggling and utterly melting in his arms.

“Getting tired yet?” he asked, as though he didn’t already know the answer. Slowly his traces came to a stop, and just as they did, he heard John’s breathing even out as the brunette fell asleep.

He chuckled quietly and gently laid down, pulling a blanket over them both and letting himself drift off as well.

“Yeah, that’s what I thought…”

Rei x Volo - No one who has spoken to me for more than 2 seconds is surprised about this one. I have an ongoing Fanfiction where they are the main couple and I am probably the biggest shipper of these two that I know of. Rarepair but they mean a lot to me in the specific context they have in the story I am writing. In any other interpretation it can definitely depend because Volorei is something a lot of people like to do in ways I can't get behind.

I tend to stick to just making my own Volorei content and just enjoying that but my friends also have started making content for them at times because they love me and like to see me lose my mind. I love them for it, y'all know who you are 😂

Adaman x Irida - Two young people leading rival clans who also are probably the only people with any real understanding of the pressures that puts on a person? Good shit good shit! They should yell at each other and then kiss about it. They should date in secret. They should be messy and lovestruck and it should affect the clan relations in ways they must deal with together.

Adaman x Rei - If I had to ship Rei with anyone who wasn't Volo it would absolutely be Adaman. I'd probably be cool with writing fanfic about them in the future but seeing as the next billion years will be taken up by writing Volorei in ACD it's too soon to say if that will happen.

Dawn x Irida - One of my friends ships this and has inducted me into the cult. Not something I would have thought of on my own but it's cute and if you've been following me I'm sure you've seen my art of it 😂 I prefer considering this interpretation as one of Dawn in the place of Akari bc Akari is aro ace to me.

Adaman x Melli - A ship full of any number of potentially hilarious situations. I actually really like it and I feel like there are actually some things that could be interpreted as canon feelings on Melli's end and I feel like that would be interesting to explore. Good luck Melli, go get your man!

Ginter x Tuli: THEY ARE MARRIED TO ME OK??? This is actually canon based on I said so.

Cogita x Ama: Ok this one is just Cogita x My fanfic oc but this is my list so I get to put it on here. Let the ridiculous sapphic woman get her awkward immortal gf ok? I mean it ends tragically in ACD but I still like them together so this is definitely my top Cogita ship.

I could get behind this:

Mai x Arezu - They both eat hot chips be bisexual and lie together. It's just so obvious how could they not be together? Needs more research.

Adaman x Volo - This is probably the only non Rei ship I would probably ever consider for Volo. Idk if I have any strong feelings about why or how it would work but they seem like two personalities that could be interesting together. Wouldn't seek it out or anything but maybe it wouldn't be so bad?

Cyllene x Cogita: Older ladies kissing? You have my attention.

Pesselle x any age appropriate girl: You know it!!! 🥺❤️ we must research the potential....

The Miss Fortune Sisters: Lesbian crime triad tbh. Absolutely Iconic for it.

I don't particularly like this ship:

Palina x Iscan - This ship held so much potential, especially as the only canon one, but overall it kind of disappointed me in practice. Iscan is just so cartoonishly afraid of ghost types it kind of makes him harder for me to like because they made it so much of his personality. If they'd been less heavy handed with it I'd probably like this couple more but I just end up feeling meh because I don't wanna see them interact more.

I feel like someone could convince me with a good fic where Iscan is treated like less of a complete coward though. There's nothing wrong with having fears or phobias but I guess I just didn't vibe with this particular portrayal of it. It's really too bad because the backstory they have together is so sweet and they are one of the ones I wanted to like the most but it just didn't end up happening. Iscan deserved better writing tbh.

Laventon x Cyllene - Cyllene just doesn't seem like she'd appreciate Laventon like he deserves. He's so nice to her and she just kinda brushes him off. I'm sure some people like ice queen type pairings and if you do you'd probably like it more than me but I want Laventon to have someone who acts just as happy to be with him as he would be with them.

Purely personal reasoning but I do what I can to avoid them. There's nothing wrong with them I just don't want to see it because all the characters here besides Volo I like to interpret as Aro/Ace and as an aro ace person myself it's just gonna be that way for some ships 😂 I also interpret Volo as a lot younger and the twins as a lot older than a lot of people so it's just not my thing based on that too.

It also feels weird that Volo x Emmet is as much of a thing as it is because Emmet is not in PLA. It makes it feel like more of a submas fandom thing than an actual PLA fandom thing so I honestly am pretty heavily dissociated from wanting to see it even more than with Ingo.

Volo x Cogita - While I know there's no official interpretation of their relationship I feel like too much points to both Cogita being way older than him (her having lines under her eyes/grey hair to indicate being older, her calling him "young man" to indicate she sees him in a much different age group than her) and potentially a direct ancestor of him herself (how similar they look in facial structure)

Now you could interpret things as they are the two unrelated people that got together to eventually have Cynthia and they are both immortals or whatever but it doesn't really seem that way to me and it kinda just doesn't vibe for me because of that. No shade if you disagree but it's not for me! They will always be dysfunctional family members in my eyes.

I'M DONE

I have spent the last three hours looking for fanfiction on Scarebat that wasn't Nolanverse or Suckerpunch (I love it btw, it's so good, checking everyday for updates🙏🙏)

I didn't only look on Ao3 as you might think, I have looked on Tumblr, Wattpad, Fanfiction.net, Quotev, Deviantart, FUCKING FICWAD, and some others...😔😔 I BARELY MANAGED TO FIND SOME SCRAPS OF CONTENT ON ONLY A FEW OF THEM AND THERE WERE LIKE 3-4 FICS IN TOTAL, MAYBE LESS, DON'T REMEMBER EXACTLY

I need to write my own atp but I'm only half-decent at writing (planning to start practicing writing on Tumblr in the future) and I suck at writing two canon characters interacting with each other.... I would be unstoppable if I had the ability to do so

honestly, it’s kinda odd how over so many years, scarebat barely made rounds on the internet. despite how their whole personas an’ things that surround them as characters make a perfect set-up for a gothic romance. yet, somehow it keeps getting overlooked. batman’s most ideally tailored fuel just never gets enough fanon attention. 

an’ like, i wish that i could somehow share with you a link to some alt dimension, where scarebat was given all the attention it deserved. but as it is, we only have like yeah 3 fics an’ prob the same amount of arts. 

on the one hand, it does suck. i admit. but on other, it leaves a way larger fields to explore. way more opportunities to do smth new an’ different with those characters. i’d also go as far as to state, that when a ship is rare, it has a chance to stay somewhat true to source material or have more of different an’ individual approaches. when a ship is super popular, it’s usually slowly, but surely gets flanderized into the ground. after certain point all that you would see is a low-key copypasta of a fic, that you’ve already read about that pair, but from a different author. i had a couple of popular ships back in the day, an’ it had happened with every single one of them. 

so, in a way, i’m glad that those few scarebat fics are all at least different enough, even if i do say, that i kinda felt down by how it was labeled scarebat with it often being barely about the ship. or it was coming off as one-sided. different strokes for different folks, but it’s part of why i sat down an’ began writing my own fic, that would satisfy my own needs an’ my own vision. i just wanted scarebat romance times with some grittiness in between. which is why i do think, that you really should try to write your own story for them too! or even drabbles. anything that might tailor their dynamic in a way you see it. 

an', well, i do get the anxiety of not ‘being good enough’, or feeling insecure about how well you would be able to capture the ‘canon’ feel. or say, just generally thinking like your skill is not on the level you wish it was. i won’t bore you with details about my own uh, writing / art journey. but i will say, that due to a few reasons of my own, i also felt like i could never write an english fic *i'm a non-english speaker*, an’ even more so, i honestly thought that i could never ever draw anything, bc i simply had no idea how to draw at all. but i do kinda know how to draw now lol. an’ i can actually write things in english too. an’ the point of it not me being super good at it or even reaching some unknown highm no. the point is that i can do it an’ i can do it in my own ways. i can create smth, that prob would have never existed otherwise, an’ in the end of the day, it’s pretty cool. quality can be not top notch, but it's like...hey, it exists now. i've given smth back to my otp, that makes me happy an' have fun.

so as someone who was where you are, when it comes to feeling like you can’t do those things, i’d say, you sure can! anyone can! it might take some lil practice an’ a bit of ‘hmm, not what i wanted exactly, but close’, until you get to the level you might have wanted, but i promise, you'd be amazed at what you can truly do, once you get on 'wave'. it won’t be instant leap, but as someone who dealt *still does to a degree* with what i call ‘toxic perfectionism’, i’d say that you just let things go at their own pace. just have fun with the process. in the end, fan stuff should be existing for your own pleasure an' perhaps, it can also be this for some other people, which is always nice. you don't have to be 'professional' about it, if you don't want to.

either way, i’m fine with rants! i mean, i've just ranted back as well lol. i know, that the main theme of this message was being kinda well, dissapointed with lack of content, but i do think, that it's not all that gloom an' doom in the end of the day. it can't be helped, that we sometimes have to basically provide for ourselves in fandoms, but it also gives us chance to 'shine' too, i think.

an’ i also wanted to say, that i’m glad you liked my fic! suckerpunch is one of those works, that i’ve started on impulse an’ till 3th chapter actually had a very vague idea, where to take afterwards, but i was surprised to see way more people interested in this ship, than i thought. so really, for a rare ship, scarebat actually does have at least some audience. an’ that audience is pretty rad an’ cool one too, so it’s not all that bad!

i do get the pain tho. sometimes, i also wanna read an' look at arts of my otps, that aren't mine. but perhaps, with time scarebat will gain more active fans. maybe, one day, we will click on ao3 an' feel like we had walked into a candy store.

ok so!! my biggest thing w them is that to me they are just. horrible for each other. they are soulmates they are tied together by the red string of fate but god is it unhealthy. like if u build a relationship off of brutally murdering ppl ur not gonna have a healthy dynamic i’m sawrry (ESPECIALLY when it ends with murder. u don’t kill ur gf that casually if ur relationship is healthy). there’s so little content of them but the bits we see seem pretty tumultuous (i base a lot off that one rainbow butler one shot bc that shit was so gay but sooo toxic it’s scrumptious) so i just run with it! they’re both very mentally ill and homicidal that shit was doomed from the start

the whole relationship like a slow build from their first meeting bc anne is immediately like Live With Me and they’re inexplicably drawn to each other (read: horny) but it’s a slow evolution from yearning and going marginally insane and probably like drunk making out they refuse to talk abt after to insane love confessions and kinda just running with the idea that they’re basically married. and the whole time it’s just a constant flux between desperately needing each other always and divorce worthy fighting. so much divorce worthy fighting.

grell falls HARD like really fucking hard like despite being the world’s worst gf she’s also more invested. she has insane tunnel vision for anne like she abandoned her whole life for her so ofc she does!! it’s a genuine obsession and it’s so unhealthy and she’s desperately needy and anytime it feels like it may be crumbling she goes hard on trying to sabotage bc she will not leave until the bridge is burnt to fucking ASH (she’s also insanely impulsive abt it like the minute she regains common sense she’s just like “why did i do that” and then wants to rekill herself so bad).

anne is very very infatuated but she’s kind of the normaler party in the sense that she can have a life outside of grell (and grell does not like that). she’s a workaholic abt the murder and also about the Being An Aunt and she’s having a crisis of morality at all times and this makes her very preoccupied but also lowkey without grell she’d kill herself. grell is like her key to being able to live with herself morally it’s like. “no one will love me with how horrible i’m being but this bitch not only loves me but also condones my atrocities!! if she leaves me i’m blowing up the world.” but the thing is she’s confident enough that grell Won’t leave her to not be as invested in her. and she’s also not afraid to be a frigid bitch when she’s pissed at her and can be so extremely hot and cold about everything it’s absolutely insanity inducing.

they’re stuck in this insane loop of being madly in love, anne kinda zoning out of everything and getting cold, grell vying for attention via acting out or manipulation or cheating or something, Big Fight, and then back to being madly in love and they NEVER WANNA STOP bc they understand each other so deeply and fundamentally in a way no one else ever will!! they enable the worst parts of each other and they feel so safe with each other. they’re each other’s home but god that home is the worst place you’ve ever stepped foot in.

there’s also an internalized homophobia layer going on for sure that definitely does not help things. esp bc anne was probably grell’s bi awakening. i always write madam red as a lesbian who has already unpacked that and dealt with it so while she has like. period typical internalized homophobia it’s way less of a Thing for her. but for grell it’s just like Oh God What Is Happening Why Do I Want To Live In Her Skin What Are The Gender Implications Of This I Am Having A Bad Time!! so like the double whammy of a full blown sexuality crisis and first time doing commitment r driving her a little insane the whole time.

it also makes grell nerfing anne a lot less random in my brain. she just snapped in that moment and it was a 2.5 year buildup of frustration that she just let loose bc she felt like she was being rejected and like all her fears of abandonment were being confirmed and she kinda just lost it. i don’t even think she fully gets why she did it tbh it kinda just happened and she ran with it and processed it all two hours later and was like “oh shit i’m going to pretend that won’t make me wanna die forever” but it’s also just a response to a constant pattern of Fucking Everything Up So Bad Now, Kiss And Make Up Later except oopsies it was fatal this time!!!

basically when the relationship is good it’s perfect and idealistic and amazing in every way and when it’s bad it’s the worst fucking relationship you’ve ever seen. it’s a mess they’re a mess it’s so fun!!

‼️JJK SEASON 2 SPOILERS WARNING ‼️

So normally I view shipping as kind of a fun silly thing to do when part of a fandom. Like yeah it’s be cute if these two characters ended up together but obviously that relationship isn’t the focus of the story and the creator focuses on the progression of the plot and conflict with the protagonist and antagonist, etc. So I’ve never really had an otp before, just a handful of ships that I’m like “yeah that makes sense and it’d be cute and stuff but I wouldn’t harass other fans and content creators about it”.

But…

SatoSugu is on a whole different level. For the first time you can’t convince me that Satoru and Suguru weren’t romantically involved with one another… I mean, the two are literally soulmates. Yin and Yang. One cannot exist without the other. Darkness in the light and light in the darkness. The betta fish in the outro for season two representing their tragic fate is perfect. Satoru follows the path of the black, sickly betta fish (representing Suguru and his struggle with depression) with concern, while Suguru barely acknowledges the white, healthy betta fish (representing Satoru and his constant upward progress). Male betta fish cannot be kept in the same tank because they are bred to be fighters (both of their powerful family lineage and high expectations placed upon them) and eventually one will kill the other (and we know how that went).

Fate of the Stars by Tally Hall plays in my head whenever I think of them. I feel it’s fitting and kinda sounds like an auditory version of Gojo’s Infinity, but also Geto’s descent into madness. Anyway I felt I needed to ramble bc I can’t explain this to anyone irl without going insane bc I love them so much. Like I got a really nice gojo figurine and there’s a matching Geto one coming out next year and I gotta get it obviously so they can be together on my shelf all happy.

Oh boy anon, I am so with you. I don't think their relationship will ever be given an explicitly canon romantic label (they never are sadly), but this is honestly the closest we'll get to it. Regardless, we all know that the history is there, the dichotomy, the light vs. dark and yin vs. yang. It's a story about tragedy, about love lost (whether romantic or not, although bruh... *gestures wildly*).

It's all the little details that went into their relationship to each other that really stand out for me. Like in the latest episode when Getou requests something sweet because he knows that Gojo will have some of whatever he gets. Like, not only does that tell us that they share food regularly (or more like gojo takes it lol), but that Getou is constantly considering Gojo's desires when it comes to his own decision making. He knows him better than anyone, and vice versa. It's what makes Getou's downfall so hard to take. Getou always requires purpose to everything, he's all about rules. He's incredibly disciplined. So to have someone who seems so incredibly rock solid turn around and make the decisions he made... It must have gutted Gojo. Because Gojo can understand it even though he doesn't want to, and it holds a mirror up to his own darkness, his own potential for violence. And with his ability, that would be catastrophic. So now Gojo is forced to step into Getou's shoes against Getou who used to be his rock. ASDF;ALSJFA I could go on forever about it.

For me, I find angsty pleasure in the tragedy of perhaps they weren't official; perhaps they never reached a point where they could explicitly express their feelings for each other before everything went south. But they were both aware of it, and its that energy that follows them everywhere until Getou's end, and it continues to follow Gojo even now. It's about regret, and loss, and loving even though we shouldn't anymore, because we can't erase their memory. It's about mourning what could-have-been, it's about hope and how it leads us astray, and it's about repercussions and consequences. It's all very human, tragic, and beautiful.

favourite thing: I love how nice and gentle and sweet he is despite everything going on, but also in 03 how he has this anger and almost self disregard bubbling as time goes - when he's captured by envy thinking he should have died so many times in the past, when he tries to rip wrath arm off to give it to ed, when he recklessly sacrifices himself to try and save ed

least favourite thing: I feel like cos shortchanges him way too much. we get such a compelling insight into ed throughout the whole series even if much is implicit, but cos doesn't really reckon with either al losing his memory and how he feels about that or have time to deal w him regaining it and what that means for him and ed. and I get it's prob partially intentional because amnesiac al feeling more unknowable deliberately alienates us from him - he genuinely feels different, and we have to wonder if the recklessly cheery attitude is a facade to cope w missing ed. but nonetheless it feels like cos kindve demotes al from the co protagonist position he had throughout the series

favourite line: not fav for any deep content but i love the delivery - the bit in cos where ed lands in the armour pile, sees a helmet that looks just like al - and then its eyes light up and you hear a 'niisan..? NIISAN!!'

brotp: ed and al!!!! I love their relationship so much it is so deep and powerful. but also scar and al is such a nice duo - the way scar vicariously lives through the elrics brotherly love because he regrets letting his crush on human lust get in the way of telling his brother he loved him 😭 also al/wrath post COS bc the film left so much of their relationship unexplored and I need to know
