grrm obviously still care about the series but do you think he has written himself into a corner? ☹️
i mean yeah i do think this is part of his problem - there’s just so much that has to happen and it keeps snowballing and he’s having a hard time making it all fight together. that said, i don’t think it’s impossible for him to get out of it - i actually think the shift in not a blog from his doomposting about the world back to more lighthearted (at least imo) general bitching makes me think he managed to fix at least one snag that’s really been bugging him (i’m convinced we are going to get an anti war monologue to rival the broken man in twow). so it’s not like he can’t figure his way out of it, it’s just a lot harder to get unstuck than he seems to have realized.
the joke used to be that asoiaf is unadaptable but i do think george is hitting a point where it feels almost unwriteable bc of the sheer scope - but he’s a deeply stubborn old man, i don’t think he’s ever gonna stop trying.

heard we were doing Spirk songs: https://youtu.be/D0Un2GTRhHM?si=9QpKUYgCn76dRJzP
this one is slightly cliche and has screamed Spock to me from day one
whoooooaaa??? i love this one sm... it's so dreamy and really sweet. i like the idea of spock being privately fascinated by humanity too, not just grumpy about it
to continue with tradition i particularly enjoy the ending!!
"At night we'd watch the moon.
That's what humans do.
We would sing a little tune.
And you'd hold me and I'd hold you."
aaaand to provide my own similarly-themed recommendation because i can: Earth Angel by the Penguins (1954)

I do want to chew a bit and that's a literal sentence picture me chewing a nonphysical concept like gum on the lore of Dialtown with how phones are made because there is the intention to create this complexity around Callum and his decisions which I'M ALL FOR IT honestly because last time I saw a talking phone tell about his backstory I was left so shocked I had to take a break so it does make me wonder some things like... What even are the negatives of this? Of course it's an operation so it takes time and effort but even on top of that, what age is the surgery done at? How painful is the recovery? Do you need to undergo multiple surgeries as you grow up and your body grows? Is this even optional or is it a matter of peer pressure? Callum's goofy ass self induced dementia makes everything all the much more questionable because you have a world wide build up because of course <- I have feelings towards USA but no final point. I just super adore these things the story has it's so chewable.

random but is anyone else into yosurise but in a doomed kind of way. like kind of one sided. like a yosuke is into rise in a puppydog kind of way and rise keeps trying to find a relationship but can’t and finally decides to give yosuke a try because at least he’s a friend and she knows he won’t try to take advantage of her being an idol etc. And yosuke is ECSTATIC and wants to give her the world but in an unsustainable kind of way, a desperate “i don’t deserve her but she’s giving me a chance and i need to do anything i can to keep her happy” kind of way. And rise is so flattered and like yosuke is nice but she can’t match that dedication, no one can or should, but it’s all so one sided and she feels so guilty about that but she doesn’t want to break his heart or be “mean”. all while yosuke is becoming almost self destructive by trying to give her “what she deserves” but it’s an unhealthy level of dedication and it’s honestly hurting both of them
