A/N: So...I kind of went a little off the rails on this one. I had a plan, and then I started writing, and I got distracted by clone babies. Sorry.

Sometimes you hate the fact that you’re so easy to read. If you were just a little better at hiding your emotions, you wouldn’t be in this situation. Well, you hope you wouldn’t be in this situation.

After all, if your crush on Alpha wasn’t so obvious, he wouldn’t have any reason to tease you so much, right?

Because there’s absolutely no way that he means what he says when he flirts with you, or makes those suggestive comments to you.

Best case scenario he’s just trying to get into your bed for a bit of quick fun. Worst case scenario, he’s trying to humiliate you. And if you didn’t need this job so badly, you would have transferred out to somewhere else.

Tragically, this job is the best one for you at the moment, and you can’t just leave the cadets-

You purse your lips as you focus your attention back on your datapad and the information on the screen. You need to focus, you can’t afford to be distracted by Alpha right now. The Kaminoans decided to play with the genetic makeup of some of the tubies, and it’s a whole thing.

Three of them are albino, which comes with its own host of health issues that need to be mitigated. Two were born totally blind, and another three are going to be blind unless you figure out a way to keep their immune system from attacking their eyes (honestly cybernetics for all five of them will probably be the easiest option, after all no one’s figured out how to keep human’s immune systems from attacking their eyes), and one was born without the ability to use his legs.

Honestly, the urge to take all 9 of them and flee Kamino is getting stronger with every passing day, but as of right now, there’s no way for you to get them off Kamino without drawing the ire of several very dangerous men, Alpha at the top of the list.

You push your fingers through your hair as you scan the medical data coming from CT-238-765’s (his name is Grim and you’re pretty sure you love him) cradle and you scowl. He’s never going to be able to walk. Maybe with surgery-

“If you keep scrunching your face up like that, you’re going to get wrinkles,” A deep voice says from the door, and you yelp and your datapad tumbles out of your hands.

You whip around, your eyes wide, and then you press your hand over your heart, “Don’t do that!”

Alpha-17 grins at you, “Did I spook you, mesh’la?”

You scowl at him and duck down to scoop the tablet back into your hands, turning the screen away from the larger man so he can’t see just how bad these tubies are, “Did you need something?”

He drags his gaze down your body, and you fold the datapad over your chest as you fight the urge to shift uncomfortably. His grin broadens, “Yeah, I can think of a thing or two that only you can help me with.”

Your face burns, “There are babies in the room,” You hiss at him.

“They’re too young to understand what I’m saying, sweetheart,” Alpha replies as he enters the room properly, and peers into one of the cradles, “Honestly, I could probably bend you over in here and none of them would even know it.”

You sputter, “You…you don’t know-that’s totally inappropriate-”

He laughs, and moves to peer into Grim’s cradle, and you immediately move to put yourself between Alpha and the infant, without thinking about it. “You’re not allowed to handle him. Technically, you’re not allowed to handle any of the babies. Remember?”

Alpha rolls his eyes and lightly nudges you to the side, “The rule was only enforced when the Prime was alive, which he’s not.” You move to the side as he nudges you, curse you for being so weak in his presence.

“Only because everyone else is afraid of you,”

“You’re not.” He grins at you, “You want to fuck me.”

Your face burns, and you glare up at him, “There. Are. Children. Present.” You hiss at him.

“Yeah, yeah. So you’ve said.” He regards Grim silently for a moment, “Also, that wasn’t a denial, gorgeous. Why isn’t he moving his legs?”

“He’s fine. And I’m not going to sleep with you just so you win whatever twisted game you're playing with me,” You snap, though you keep your voice quiet, “And don’t touch-” You sigh when Alpha reaches into the cradle and pokes the infant’s foot, and he doesn’t react.

“The fact that you think I’m  playing a game with you is hurtful, gorgeous.” Alpha replies, a frown crossing his scarred face as he looks down at the infant, “He can’t feel his legs.”

“He’s fine.” You say, your voice pitching a little higher in sudden panic, “They’re all fine. You can’t tell the longnecks. You can’t. They’ll decommission them.”

“Wait, wait. Hold on,” Alpha looks at you, suddenly no longer interested in teasing you based on the look on his face, “What…there’s something wrong with all of these tubies?”

“Winter, Snow, and Cin-” You motion to the three at the end, “Are all albino. The five in the middle are either blind, or are going blind, and then Grim here-”

Alpha holds up his hand, “What happened?”

“The Kaminoans were playing with their genes.” You say bitterly, “And now these kids are the ones who will suffer for it.” You carefully remove the monitors from Grim’s legs, and attach them to a different baby's legs, altering the data just enough.

Alpha stops you, “How long has this been happening?”

You shrug, “You know that CF-99 exists,” You point out, “They’re not the most popular because they’re assholes, but-”

“We’re all genetically predisposed to be assholes,” Alpha says dryly. His gaze lingers on the babies for a moment, “So, what’s the plan?”

“What?”

“For the tubies.”

You stare at him, “Um…so for the five that are blind, or going blind, I’m planning on making arrangements for them to get cybernetic eyes. As for Grim…I’m working on it-”

Alpha hums thoughtfully, “I have a better idea.”

“You do?”

“Yeah. How do you feel about taking the Tubies and leaving?”

You sputter, “I can’t raise 9 babies on my own without a job-”

“You won’t be raising them alone,” Alpha replies with a roll of his eyes, “I’ll be going with you.”

“...what.”

He looms over you, and you’re very glad that you’ve never been intimidated by Alpha, for all that he flusters you to high heaven. “You think I’m playing with you. That I don’t mean every word that I say to you. Maybe you have cause for that, I’m not going to judge. But I do mean every word, and if I have to run away with you and these kids to make you believe me, then so be it.”

“But…what about your other brothers?”

“They’ll be just fine without me.”

“But-”

“Yes or no, cyar’ika?” Alpha interrupts, “Do you want to ensure that these kids, kids that you named, have a proper life? Or do you want to run the risk of your manipulations getting exposed? And that’s not me threatening you. That’s me pointing out that you’re not going to be able to hide your lies forever.”

Your hands shake, “Of course I want them to grow up happy and healthy, but this is…”

Alpha stares at you and you squeeze your eyes shut for a moment, thinking hard.

“Okay. Okay, but we have to be quick about it. If we get caught-”

“Don’t worry, cyar’ika. I can make sure that we don’t get caught.” He ducks down and brushes his lips against your temple, “Just be ready. We’re leaving tonight.”

And then Alpha is gone, leaving you alone with the 9 babies that you’re about to risk everything for. You sigh and turn to Grim, who looks up at you through big brown eyes, “You’re lucky I love you, kiddo.”

He flashes a toothless grin and grabs your finger, and you melt a little bit. You suppose it’s worth it.

Yes! It means a lot to me when people take time out of their day to leave kind words/emojis/vibes on my writing, so I always try to reciprocate that energy!

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oooh. Probably Insatiable (E), my beloved Lucienne/Corinthian fic. I looooove the idea of them having a fucked-up exes type history. I think they have such fun chemistry but- outside of potential AUs- there is no way that they would have a happy ending.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Small Pleasures (T) ; In My Solitude (T) ; and proceed with what you're leading me to (T) are all dreamling Getting Together fics, so I think that they're tied for happiest endings!

Nope! Thankfully, I've never received hate on a fic.

Yes! It's fairly new to me, but I've had fun playing with some of the concepts that my mutuals have come up with!

Un Profond Sommeil. 😔. UPS is my beautiful babygirl that I have currently taken off of AO3 because I keep reworking the concept, and I'd really love to finish it eventually but I'm nowhere near getting it done yet. Maybe one day! Or maybe its complete version will only ever be available in the Dreaming's library. Only time will tell.

well at a basic level i get it. his fandom hates kylie and views them dating as the worst thing for him and his career. (yes even after snl) mentioning her likely wouldn’t give the positive response no matter what he says. and right now he needs to be that person his fans want to see.

he mentioned saoirse too in the interview. i think he mentions them for the same reason any celeb name drops. its because people like those friendships and the person mentioned will catch attention for headlines or a viral clip. his movie comes out this weekend. so yea he’s going to mention z.

i just think he could’ve shared a different friendship fun fact for this interview 😅🤷🏽‍♀️

Am overview of all the free AAC apps I’ve tried/heard of. None of them are as good as the paid ones, but I feel like a lot of decent ones are being ignored.

These are all for iOS, and generally listed from best to worst, though I think any of them could be made to work.

SymboTalk is the best one I’ve found. It requires a Lot of customization to be good, but it has features I haven’t seen in many/any other free apps. Color Coded symbols, up to 72 buttons per board, linking boards together rather than only to the main one, & many languages. This is the one I’m currently customizing, only downside is you need to pay for iCloud storage, so no linking between devices without payment.

Twinkl Symbols is another good one, though it’s confusing to start. It has a lot of downloadable symbols, built in templates like Visual Schedules, and up to 40 symbols per board. It requires less customization, but I wasn’t able to get it nearly as robust, as it lacks a lot of features you see in paid apps.

Leeloo is meant for autistic kids, but i think adults could use it too. It has cutesy pictures, a lot of voices, and mostly phrases rather than words. It barely allows for any customization without the paid version, however this can be mostly solved by the Text-to-Speech option. Overall it would work for Verbal Shutdowns/Speech Loss Episodes and similar things, but wouldn’t be good for long term use.

Vocable is a text based AAC app. You can preprogram as many phrases as you want, and there’s a keyboard, but there is no sentence bar. The main reason I mention it is because I has built in eye tracking for any device that’s compatible (which is most), which no other free app I’ve seen has.

Text To Speech! Is exactly what it sounds like, you can type things in with a keyboard, and save/categorize phrases. It’s like a worse but free version of Proloquo4Text. I never tried it because i like symbol-based, but thought I should give a typing-based option too.

I would also like to give an honorable mention to LetMeTalk, it functions well, probably like a worse version of SymboTalk, but it hasn’t updated in 4 years and the audio has stopped playing for most people, so its no longer useable.

These are the most notable ones I’ve tried, all others were non-functional, behind a secret paywall, or way to slow to justify reviewing.

Thank you for resending the ask! You're 3 out of 5 and here is your month ahead love reading, aka Wind Rose. So yeah since May is already started this is meant for the next 30 days roughly.

So let's start with your current state, coming into these next 30 days.

I definitely think you are currently feeling quite powerless and lacking control over the trajectory of your love life. It feels like things are not happening the way you want them to despite what you feel are your best efforts, and you're running out of patience. You feel lost, confused and don't know what could be done and it's triggering a lot of pessimistic thoughts, where you keep thinking about the worst outcome possible instead of being hopeful about the future. You may also be experiencing very low self-esteem as a result.

I think you may have been hopeful about a recent situation that seemed like it had potential, even if it was just in your head, but your illusions got shattered, and left you with a sour taste in your mouth. You feel like you failed here and its making you quite distraught.

For the theme of the month ahead, regarding your love life.

I think you will get a surge of desire to not let yourself go to constant sorrow, but instead, putting yourself back together and pick up the fight again. It's like you're done mourning, done being immobilized, and you want to put yourself out there once again.

However, the cards points at some internal work you have to do before you can achieve what you desire. You will need to shift this very pessimistic mindset you're currently in, as it is neither an enjoyable place to be, nor particularly efficient to achieve your goal. There is a call to reconnect back with your child-like sweet wonder, to remember that things can be good and easy. There is a need to find your hopeful innocence again, to remember that things will not stay as they are forever but that things can indeed change for the better. There is potential for growth ahead but you need to put the accent on that first.

Let's also note that the bottom of the deck was Death, so there's definitely an underlying energy of deep internal change, which for your love life indicates a complete renewal of energies and moving towards a clean slate before you can embrace what comes next.

For the goal you'll have in mind, I see you very motivated to initiate communications with either someone or different people, in order to plant the seeds of new relationships or rekindling an old one, hoping that something will flourish. You want to be clear about what you want and are done waiting around. It seems you're quite eager to make things happen in reality but as we saw, there is some internal work to be done so your goal/vision is not quite aligned with that.

So it makes sense that the challenge you will face is represented by the Tower, which is a way to push you to completely change your ways as you will be forced to reevaluate the way you approach your love life. There will be a need to embrace this big wake-up call that forces you to realize that you are limiting yourself in your mind, keeping you trapped, which is your own doing, and to some extent you are resisting the change.

Everyone walks a unique path full of detours and surprises that are meant to teach you things about yourself and the world. There is so much out there for you.

There is definitely a lot of loving support being sent your way, so remember that from a higher perspective, we are never as lonely as we think we are.

Since this seems to be a trend, I have to ask: top 5 pieces of media you'd rec me? I am really curious since I think I've already tried pretty much everything you loved 😅

sorry for the delay, but I was right in the middle of one of the things I thought I miiight recommend you, so I waited until I finished in case it ended up poorly lmao.

Said thing is Zatanna & the Ripper, an already completed webtoon available online for free (don't let the fact that it's 51 issues long deter you, a webtoon episode takes less than five minutes to read lol). I was already reading a couple other DC webtoons, with mixed feelings ("Wayne Family Adventures" is often too fandom-y for my blood but it's given me a few ideas, and "Red Hood: Outlaws" was... neither a bad as its worst moments, nor did it manage to live to the sky high expectations of its very best), and I was already on my Zatanna feels thanks to Young Justice so... I picked this one up.

I'm guessing you know this but Zatanna's comics version differs quite a bit from YJ's; she's from Bruce's generation, for one (he has a cute cameo here with the two of them playing as children lol), her usual love interest is John Constantine (who plays that part here), etc. This isn't quiiiite like the comics version (or what little I've seen of her), she's a bit younger and greener, with a "finding yourself/having faith in your own power" arc.

The premise is that Zatanna, on her 21st birthday, gets transported to London in Victorian times, right around the time Jack the Ripper was killing (I'm pleased to say the run managed to side-step the issues I tend to have with historical fiction that tries to play around with this concept, tbh). She's stuck there, with malfunctioned powers, becomes friends with one of the working girls, starts trying to solve the case etc. etc. It was a fun read, all around.

Hmm... I'm trying to think of favourite stuff of mine that I don't think you've tried... shows-wise, I think that'd be Desperate Wives? Not saying it didn't infuriate the hell out of me at times lol, and I'm not sure how you'll feel about it, since it's also not-my-usual-type... but when it's good, it's GREAT and really damn enjoyable lol. I became hooked really early on so I'd say to give the pilot a try and see if it awakens any interest, if you haven't watched it?

For films... you might've watched some of these, but some of my favourites that you might want to give a try to would be "The Mask of Zorro" (revenge! romance! sword fights as both revenge and romance tools!), "The Handmaiden" (historical lesbian romance with really engaging twists), or 2010's "True Grit" (a western, which isn't usually my thing, about a young girl seeking revenge for her father's murder).

I'll also list some of my favourite classic books that you might or might not have read, Because: "Carmilla", "Dangerous Liaisons", "Frankenstein", "Pygmalion"

I don't know how plausible it'd be to find this available outside of Spain, but I'm recommending "La Promesa", a Spanish telenovela I've gotten into (I'm not really watching it properly because I'm waaaaaaaay behind lol. it's long as fuck, currently in its 150+ episode; I watch the current ones when my mother has it on tv lol, and sometimes some of the old ones). It's sloooooow, which can be frustrating, and LOOOOONG, as I said, but it does some really great things character-wise. I've called it the Spanish Downton Abbey lol, but with faaaar more attention given to the working-class characters (the heroine herself being a maid).

This goes beyond five, but since I'm not sure if you've watched/read some of these, and you probably won't be able to watch the last one ^^U: SEVERANCE!!! Again, I just want people to watch both this AND Dollhouse so we can delve deep into them xDD. Just one short season so far, with a second one coming on 2024. It's about a group of workers who've gone through a surgical procedure that separates their memories from work and those from their life outside, effectively creating different people, and the sketchy corporation they work with. And Dichen Lachman is in it too :D (her part is the only one I actively compared with Dollhouse while I was watching it lol. So far Dollhouse wins but... Priya's story is hard to top).

Another bonus, Because: I recommended the Kemi Ashing-Giwa's short stories stored in Tor to another mutual, so this time I'll give focus to another one: "The Puppermaster", about a banished warrior, her sketchy usurper uncle, and monsters.

Dammit. Tetsurō sighed as he rolled the volleyball cart around to his side of the net. He tried to ignore Lev, who was scurrying across the gym towards them, long, muscular legs carrying him much more quickly than he had a right to move. Tetsurō hid his blush at the sight of Lev, all long-limbed and attractive, with a frown, and cast a glance at Kenma, who just shrugged.

“I thought he was supposed to be your problem,” Tetsurō muttered.

Kenma flashed a rare smile. “Well,” he replied, watching Lev stumble their way, “looks like he’s your problem now.” He gave Tetsurō a wave as he walked away, his handheld already making its way back into his grip. “Later, Kuro.” 

“Oh, Kenma-san!” Lev shouted as they crossed paths. “Aren’t you going to stay and practice with us?”

“Not a chance in hell,” Kenma deadpanned.

“Kenma!” Tetsurō shouted. “Oi, Kenma!”

“Kuroo-san!” Lev exclaimed; and nope, Tetsurō was definitely not looking at Lev’s big emerald eyes, which were currently sparkling at him. “Yaku-san said you were going to help me with blocking today.”

Damn that oni-senpai.

“I can’t help you with blocking, Lev,” Tetsurō said, “when we’re the only ones here.” He cast a glance at the gym doors, but Kenma had already left. He sighed. “How about we work on your receiving, instead?”

He saw Lev’s face light up, and Tetsurō cringed at how handsome he found Lev when he smiled.

Put that thought out of your head, Tetsurō. Let’s just focus on helping him with his receives.

It’s for the team…yes. All this time with Lev… It’s for the team.

“Kuroo-san! How do I position my arms to do the receive?” “Kuroo-san! How should I hold my feet?” “Kuroo-san! Do I hold my hands like…”

“Yes, Lev, just like that!” Tetsurō shouted. Honestly, they’d been practicing for ten minutes and it felt like ten years. He’d managed to get off just three serves: one hit Lev in the face, another in the knee, and one he missed entirely and dove for, only to eat the hardwood pretty badly. Tetsurō had actually worried about that one a little bit, but Lev seemed to be made of steel (or rubber), as he bounced right back up and announced he was fine. 

And honestly? All the misses Tetsurō could handle. Because failing was how one got better.

It was the talking that Tetsurō couldn’t stand.

Because Lev talking… It was a distraction.

When Lev talked, Tetsurō just stared at his stupid, handsome face. With those shining eyes and that dumb, beautiful gray hair. And those cheekbones? Fuck, who had cheekbones like that?

But worst of all, when Lev talked… Tetsurō had to stare at Lev’s mouth.

At his perfect heart-shaped, mouth with those pink lips and…

“Lev.” Tetsurō was moving; when he’d started, he wasn’t really sure. He just knew that Lev was talking, and Tetsurō was annoyed. 

“Oh, Kuroo-san!” Lev exclaimed, his eyes lighting up—stop fucking sparkling, Lev. “How come you’re over here? Aren’t you supposed to be serving from the other side of the net? Why are you—”

Tetsurō didn’t let Lev finish his sentence. Instead, he stepped into Lev’s space, where Tetsurō had to look up to see him, like what the hell, and then…

Tetsurō grabbed Lev, who was still talking, still mumbling about something, pulled him down, and slammed their mouths together in a deep, desperate kiss.

Lev groaned, and flailed, then groaned again, and Tetsurō took a second to revel in how Lev suddenly melted and became putty under his hands. He felt Lev melting into him, and yup, that was the time to break the kiss. 

“There,” Tetsurō said, stepping back and wiping his mouth, “maybe now you’ll shut up and let me talk for a minute?”

Lev stood there, blinking, his lips glistening and swollen and Tetsurō felt a bit of pride, that he’d finally found a way to shut Lev up. 

“K—Kuroo-san!” Lev exclaimed then. “Why did you do that? Am I doing a great job? Did you want to reward me? Because you’re a really great kisser, Kuroo-san, and I can’t believe that you would actually mmpphhmmfphh…”

Lev didn’t get to finish his sentence, because Tetsurō had pulled him back into another kiss, this one heated and forceful and this time, Lev’s hands wrapped around Tetsurō’s shoulders and yanked him closer and yup, Tetsurō definitely liked that.

Tetsurō let the kiss last a little longer, let his mouth move over Lev’s a little stronger, let his tongue play at the seam of Lev’s lips. And this time, when he broke the kiss, Lev’s whole face was shining, he was shaking, and Tetsurō smirked.

Maybe now…

“Uh, Kuroo-san?” 

Fuck.

Lev looked at him from beneath darkened lashes. “If I keep talking, are you going to keep kissing me?”

Tetsurō felt his face break out into a devilish smirk.

“Sure, Lev,” he drawled, reaching for Lev and pulling him close. “You wanna keep talking? Just know that the punishment is gonna be a kiss for everytime that you talk.”

Lev’s cheeks bloomed a beautiful red. “Good,” he murmured. “Because I think I’d like to keep talking, a little longer.”

Tetsurō grinned. “I think that can be arranged,” he said.

Not dune despite the few lines she had she made up for it with screen presence and the fact camera loves her and she knows how work the camera to capture the dreamy like presence of chanialso dune is just overall better directed.

I have NEVER had an issue with Tom's acting in any film or Project I've seen him in. Most critics in fact agree that it's not Tom's acting that's the problem. Maybe sometimes it's the writing? Or, the directing? But usually NOT his acting.

Or, are you just saying that it wasn't as "impactful" because it didn't have a wide release or wasn't easily found? two questions - congrats on the trans cú update! I wondered how much control you have over being able to make your academic work available for free online? also, is your agent a medievalist, or are they also doing a "hang on let me google something. oh yeah this is messed up" with your latest project?

Second question first: no, my agent is not a medievalist, and is generally not familiar with the stories I've been retelling. She signed me for The Butterfly Assassin, after all, so I don't think she was entirely expecting me to also start writing adult queer literary fantasy retellings of medieval stories 😅 But she's rolled with it. The Wolf And His King I gave her without any particular background context, because that was already written. With the Blodeuwedd novel, I wrote a proposal which includes both a brief summary of the original plot, and a discussion of what I'm doing with it and the themes I'm exploring. But it is hard not to sound completely unhinged when your proposal is like "Instead of dying, he turns into an eagle." Like. Okay... I also had to give a list of content warnings for this one, although I probably wasn't thorough enough 😬 It's hard to know what to warn for, particularly when the characters aren't necessarily human when certain events occur.

I don't know if she was at all familiar with the story before I started inflicting this project on her. I first came across it via The Owl Service by Alan Garner when I was very young, long before I was a medievalist, so it's possible she's had similar exposure to it. But I feel like if this book goes further, there are definitely going to be people googling the Fourth Branch and going, "Okay, what the HELL?" 🙈

As for sharing my academic work, it really depends on the journal where it's being published. My article about the seven Maines is in a print-only journal with very strict copyright rules, so I can't upload that one to my website. I understand why they have those policies, in that specific case, and the journal is very cheap for individuals to buy, so it's not the worst. However, it's not my preferred way to publish, and I prefer to seek Open Access routes if I can. My first article about Láeg, in Quaestio Insularis, is Open Access and available on the journal's website for free. I've written a second article about Láeg too, which is currently awaiting peer review, and I submitted that to an Open Access journal as well, so if it's accepted it will be available online. In that case, I chose the journal specifically because of its OA policies and the fact that they encourage article sharing on authors' own websites.

With the trans Cú Chulainn article, it's in a conference proceedings which is distributed via Amazon print-on-demand type processes. I wasn't sure, therefore, what their policy would be – since it's openly available to buy (rather than requiring expensive institutional subscriptions), I thought they might be keen to insist on that. However, I think the purpose of the proceedings is very much to share the research and give as many people the opportunity to build on it as they can, so when I asked, they were happy for me to make it available online once I've got the final file. I will mostly likely upload it to my own website so that I keep control of where it's hosted, rather than using a third party site like Academia.edu.

I have had various patches of being an independent scholar without library access – currently I have access but only because I WORK in the library; my research is unaffiliated – so making material widely available is really important to me. I know how frustrating it is when everything relevant is paywalled. And I also think we as a field can't complain about people relying on outdated and inaccurate Victorian scholarship if that's the only material that's available for people outside of universities to read, so I'm all for the gradual shift to making more and more research widely available!

Probably, if I continue to publish, some of my work will end up being paywalled because there just aren't that many journals in my field and I'll have to go with the options open to me. But more and more journals are allowing researchers to retain the rights to share their articles online, so I'll always try and keep as much available as I can.

any buffs/nerfs you think are needed ? Splash's pinpoint accuracy. It's kinda screwed up the meta 😅. Not sure if it counts as a buff/nerf, but the stages HAVE to be improved. No more corridors! More flanks! More cover! More dynamic terrain! It would solve the issue with chargers without nerfing them and make the game 100x more fun.

have you read coroika aka the splatoon manga ? Yes! I haven't read the latest Splatoon 3 installment, but I'll get to it soon! Coroika fans hmu ;)

rank the splatoon games + oe best to worst Not sure how to compare an entire Splatoon game with just the Octo Expansion, but I went in terms of ✨general experience ✨: 1. Splatoon 3 - Current pinnacle of the franchise. Can't wait for Side Order, if it tops OE then it'll be the true best Splatoon game! 2. Octo Expansion - Best single player experience. Off the Hook are AMAZING. 3. Splatoon 2 - Without OE, this is still a solid game that I enjoyed a lot :) 3 definitely improves on it, though, in small ways and big ways. 4. Splatoon 1 - I haven't played it, so I'm not saying it's the worst, this is just for me. Obviously set up the foundation of an awesome series!

hello! havent seen alot of your previous posts yet but i wanted to ask if you have an opinion on swedish flower hens? our chickens all either have a swedish flower rooster dad or a dwarf cochin dad and various possible breeds/mixes for their moms, so most of ours and their current chicks have some sorta typical swedish flower white spots and i personally rly like that look :D

I kind of have a sort of negative opinion of the Swedish Flower hen these days 😅 also so no one gets confused the Swedish Flower hen and 55 Flowery hens are different breeds.

All Swedish Flower hens in the USA are so very inbred due to all of them being descendants from the birds Greenfire farms brought over. Greenfire Farms themselves are not a good hatchery or breeder that keeps up with standards and good genetics sometimes even letting their birds free breed with the other inbred breeds then selling those chicks as pure to people for a very high price.

Swedish Flower hens are a land race which means they should be genetically varied and hardy but due to the inbreeding common in this endangered breed its common for people to experience hatching failures, genetic defects such as severe curled toes, and to have high mortality the first year of life.

Another thing because they a "rare" breed and do not breed true its very common for people to outcross them haphazardly to anything and everything but still classify the chicks as the breed. These outcrossings are rarely for betterment of the breed and more for aesthetics which is why its becoming more and more common to see birds with vaulted skulls from this breed. The vaulted skull on this breed is apparently so unstable "breeders" tell people not to breed crested birds to crested birds because they commonly produce chicks with brains that are exposed through the vault. Thats... not good considering even the average silkie and polish doesnt experience those problems that often. Honestly at worst they are a severely inbred breed severely lacking in genetic diversity and hardiness and at best they are some nice looking mutts who could have who knows as their genetic background as its not hard to make a mottled bird on a gold base.

So while they are a breed known for being docile, friendly, and good foragers they are definitely a breed i dont really like to much in America at least. The Swedish Flower hen just doesnt have any pros that out weigh the cons to me especially compared to breeds who have a similar feather pattern like the Speckled Sussex.

SPEAKING OF the Speckled Sussex the most stable lines of Swedish Flower hens are ones that usually have been heavily outcrossed and mixed with Speckled Sussex anyway to the point where i feel like those are just lines making the mottling on the Speckled Sussex more random so they can then sell them as Swedish Flower Hens lol

As for your chicks, mottling is actually recessive so both of their parents had to be mottled or carried the mottling gene which may help you narrow down the parents!

I am sorry if it seems like im just crapping on the breed but i just dont like the breeding practices behind it especially when we already have a friendly lovely breed in the more established Speckled Sussex. Sometimes people in my local group will post Swedish Flower Hens they were sold and they really are just some regular Speckled Sussex in fact the pictured hen above is a very pretty Sussex 😅

I started reading your stories exactly a year ago and that time itself was one of the worst ones that I'd ever gone through. Shit had gone incredibly down, basically I was a living corpse with undiagnosed depression and anxiety but like, idk I was trying to find anything that could make me just a little happy and then I stumbled upon your blog in the process.

I'm not saying that everything was absolutely perfect but I do know for a fact that your writing helped me a lot in terms of understanding a few things even if it was just fiction. Like, yk how most of your characters are all abt "teaching one another how it isn't not embarrassing to ask for help," that part was the most soothing one for me; and altho it did take a long, long time before I actually asked for help, I'm really grateful to you for planting that idea in my head. It kind off like stayed and nurtured and is getting more habitual. A yr has passed and I can't say that I'm completely healed or smthg but I'm doing way better than before and hv also began taking therapy.

So overall, what I'm saying is that I'm genuinely grateful for the message you've given through your works and for being an absolute sweetheart abt literally anything and everything. Keep writing and I love you so much<3

I'm sorry it took me all day to reply to this but I didnt want to because firstly, how does one even respond to something so sweet and two I wanted to keep rereading it in my inbox 😅 but honestly from the bottom of my heart the joy this brings me is indescribable. It is the exact reason I post my work to begin with. I've said it before but if something I've written makes even just a single person's day just a bit better, than it worth it.

I'm so sorry your going through that, I know exactly how you feel. I'm currently living with a whole array of medical issues, (depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, POTS) and even after 5 years of doctors visits they still think these and symptoms of some still undiagnosed endocrine issue. Its exhausting. Nobody knows what your going through internally, but they all believe they know what best for you, and you can start to doubt even your own judgment without the evidence to back it up. "Maybe I'm not sick, I'm just lazy. Everyone gets tired," it's such a dehumanizing and terrible feeling, so I'm so glad your doing better and really hope things keep improving in your future <3

Yeah, learning to ask for help is so difficult, even when you desperately need it. But its human to ask for help, and I'm so glad you picked up on that in some of my stories, it is definitely something I struggle with too, 😅 one of those "practice what you preach" moments but hey, we can all get there eventually!

and yes, i have MANY thoughts on the Axiz reunion!!!!! a lot of my thoughts on the team don't seem to be super popular in the main eng fanbase for NOAH, so i've sort of been keeping them to myself... 😅

i did publish a very short fic, though, after their first match back together as a tag team. and i've been thinking about the bodyswap fic again 🥲

most of my wrestling thoughts so far this year are in my wrestling journal, which i guess has sort of replaced giffing for me because it's way less time-intensive, though i'd still like to publish some of this content as gifsets, especially the TJPW story stuff, which as far as i can tell is not getting written about (in English) anywhere else. the wrestling journal itself is unpublishable in its current state because i also use it to bookmark some of my favorite fan photos, and i wouldn't want to republish those. but i do love it when people read it and comment on some of the stuff in there! i'm constantly falling behind on it and getting caught up super last minute, but it has been a rewarding project overall.

as far as Axiz specifically goes, i also created a separate Axiz journal just for tracking stuff related to their 2023 run. so if that team is the main thing you're into and you don't care about 90% of the other wrestling stuff i'm on about, that has all of my current thoughts and observations on them! it also contains various supplemental material, like tweets and stuff from shupro, plus my very rough translations of the material. there's also a long ramble about the third Axiz photobook, Green, and about how it becomes a different book entirely depending on when you read it (pre-betrayal, post-betrayal, post-reunion).

the main reason why i made that document was because: 1) i've gotten spoiled by my own TJPW blog lol and i get frustrated by how hard it is to browse old post-match comments in other companies due to how poorly organized basically all wrestling companies are and how ephemeral this stuff is, and 2) i have some amount of actual Japanese proficiency now that i did not have when i first got into Axiz in 2020. so i've started to prefer experiencing the stories through the original Japanese, and i sometimes get frustrated by the official translations and want to keep track of the Japanese 😅.

i've also been having fun exploring the Japanese side of the fandom and sort of ignoring what's going on on the western side of things. i've been using it as an excuse to do some low-stakes Japanese reading practice without having the pressure to translate for hundreds of other people like i do with TJPW. so far, all of the Axiz comments have been super short (way shorter than i'm used to with TJPW), so it has been a doable side project for me. the translation quality is way lower than my TJPW translations, though, so just a warning about that. i didn't want to bother my translation tag team partner and ask them to check even more of my work, haha, so there might be mistakes in there, though it's certainly not the worst NOAH translations that you will find... 😅

as far as Axiz potentially doing a program against the Golden Lovers goes, anon, i want that so bad 😭. the only thing i want more would be them doing a program with the Magical Sugar Rabbits 🥲. Axiz vs Golden Lovers feels actually legit plausible, though, considering that Kota has expressed interest in working with NOAH, and considering the AEW/NOAH partnership.

also, i do have one bonus meme that is not in the Axiz journal lol. you might need to read the journal for context, though, depending on how closely you've been following this stuff (i'm tuned out of the fandom at large and don't know what has and hasn't been getting talked about).
