i won’t hold people to the same standards i have on myself in terms of friendship bc everyone shows they care in different ways

#this is a part affirmation and part intro to a rant i need to unleash #but i’ll leave it in the tags here bc it feels safer lol #it’s abt my housemate the other day when we had our last class which is online but our previous classes were in person so as a class we #usually just pull it up on the main computer and broadcast the zoom in the classroom #but on this day the class before this zoom class got out early so lots of people went home early to just watch it on their own zoom or wtvr #so the row i sit in was pretty empty except for me my housemate and our two friends #and usually my housemate sits on my right but she got up and moved to sit on the other side next to our other friend and said nothing #and i didn’t want to say anything bc i was kinda sad/offended even though #her moving seats probably has nothing to do with me and much rather her personal preference i can’t help but think negatively abt myself #also one morning we were both off she went to the smoothie shop and coffee shop and just went to pick up her orders and i felt the same #reaction of like sad/offended bc she didn’t consider me at al like what if i wanted a smoothie too! TF #or coffee even though i don’t drink coffee anymore wtvr #my thoughts on her and my friendship are kinda rocky bc we feel so out of sync #i feel like she’s always in her own world and it’s hard to get through to her and become real friends #it’s whatever not all friendships can be deep and meaningful

i bought a new comforter for my bed today (it's a deep royal/navy blue with a lattice pattern on it) and my cat appears to be scared of it, which is not a thing i had considered when purchasing it bc she's never been scared of a pattern before and would i think about buying another new comforter just so she won't be scared of it? yes absolutely i am actively considering it LOL

#personal #i'm also not 100% sold on this one anyway #but i've washed it so i can't return it now lol #it's a bit fluffier than my old one which i don't hate but is just something to get used to #and it's a liiiittle bit scratchy which actually is a problem bc i sit on my bed all the time l o l #i thought washing would help but it did not so!#but riley would not jump on it and when i put her on it directly she jumps and pokes at it very hesitantly #and then zooms to her cat quilt and/or off of it entirely very quickly #and she usually spends a lot of time hanging out with me on my bed!! and sleeps with me most nights!!#so like..........i can't have a comforter she's scared of. she is my BABY #we'll see if she and i both get used to it before any drastic measures are taken lol

although i guess a point to me being genuinely kind of offline is i once had a job interview and they asked me what i would make as reels for their corporate instagram and i had to ask them what reels were

#i applied to that job by accident and i didnt realize it was a social media manager position until like i was already in the zoom call #(this was like in 2020 or something) (in my defense the job posting was vague)#i didnt know what reels were!! i didnt know. i hadnt used instagram for more than like 20 minutes before orz #that job interview in general was a little painful i felt so so bad for the interviewers #i knew theres no way i could get the job nor did i want the job once i realized what it was #so i was just like okay sure heres a quick little practice interview then so i didnt mind #but i imagine those poor interviewers. imagine u get a candidate for like. a chef position. and they dont know what a knife is #they asked me if i used twitter much and i was honest and said not since a little bit in 2014 for a class project #they asked if i used instagram and i said once or twice. also for school #facebook? anything? not really. technically tumblr and dA and such but i wasnt gonna tell them that part LOL #also sorry im suddenly really chatty at midnight. i had a bunch of homework to do and i just finished #so now ur getting all the thoughts i wanted to blog about while writing some discussion posts about class topics hjkfdsjgdklfsgsfa

I got a haircut on Friday in order to even out my hair post failed undercut (I liked how it looked but i have no patience for the upkeep/shaving it every few weeks) and for the first time in 12 years have hair that hits above my shoulders and idk what to do with myself anymore I miss my long hair
