“if you go, i’ll stay, you come back, i’ll be right here” but it’s clarke griffin giving her life so that bellamy blake and all her friends could make it to space, surviving through sheer will, and calling him on a radio every single day for six years until he could return to her and the home she built for them all.

I was just struck with a memory of:
If you need forgiveness I’ll give it to you, you’re forgiven okay???
And I think I’m gonna be ill

For all those who still didn't get it, both Eliza and Bob said several times since the show ended they played Bellarke romantically by jroth's orders for six seasons. And then, when they were supposed to get together in 6x11, he changed his mind and scraped it off from the script. As for season 7, it is more like jroth's crackfic, not a part of the show
ah man when i remember belarke all I remeber is that girl pointing a gun at him more times than I can count, def not love
…Listen it’s not their fault their showrunner was a bitch.

The 100 ended four years ago so I think I can confidently say that i'm forever going to be stuck between the denial phase and the anger phase. No accepting or moving on for me.
I mean for the most part I just pretend that season 7 never happened, like I block it out of my mind. But when I do remember it happened, I just get incredibly angry. And I know it's not healthy to still be this upset over a fictional show that ended in 2020, but I can't help it.
I think about how Bellamy was character assassinated and then killed off in the most brutal and stupid way possible, shot by CLARKE of all people, over a damn BOOK, that she didn't even take!!! I think about how he died all alone, without a chance of saying goodbye to any of his friends or his SISTER!!! I mean think about how crazy that is, Finn died but got to say goodbye to Clarke, Lexa died but got to say goodbye to Clarke not once but twice, Lincoln died but got to say goodbye to Octavia, Jasper died but got to say goodbye to Monty, Kane died but got to say goodbye to Abby and Indra, and Bellamy??? The male lead of the show Bellamy??? He dies and he doesn't even get to say goodbye to OCTAVIA??? The Blakes don't even get a proper final scene together??? And I get angry.
I think about how Clarke, the main lead of the show, was cast aside for half the season and then also character assassinated, turned into a selfish vindictive cold-blooded person who never learns from her mistakes and suddenly doesn't care about being the good guy or doing the right thing... even though the entire point of her character arc was that she was fundamentally a good person, selfless, altruistic and empathetic, who was forced into impossible moral dilemmas. But she never stopped caring!!! Making these impossible choices never got easier for her!!! Because she was good!!! But suddenly in season 7 she was turned into everything that Clarke antis accused her of being. And what's Jason's excuse for this? "Oh, well, if you think about it she was never the hero... she was doing awful things early on in the show, just against people we didn't care about like Mount Weather... In season 7 we put the audience in Mount Weather's shoes"... excuse me???? As if Clarke didn't try literally everything in her power to get her people back, without having to harm/kill the people in Mount Weather??? As if Clarke didn't decide to pull the lever only when she saw her own mother and her friends being strapped to a table to be tortured and killed for their bone marrow??? As if Clarke didn't feel distraught over what she had to do, to the point that she felt like she had to leave her people and be on her own in the woods for months??? As if she didn't have nightmares??? As if she didn't feel guilt and regret over Mount Weather and Maya up to freaking season 6??? And I get angry.
I think about how Bellarke, whether romantic, platonic or something in between, was the MAIN relationship of the show, with the most development and screen time. And that relationship was absolutely destroyed in the most contrived, spiteful way possible!!!! Jason had to character assassinate both Bellamy and Clarke to make it happen. That's how resentful of Bellarke and Bellarke shippers he was. Even though he was the freaking show runner!!! He had the power of writing Bellarke platonically from day one!!! But Bob and Eliza confirmed that they were told that Bellarke was romantic in nature, and that's how they performed it!!! Jason was the one who wrote 2x16 and 4x13, arguably two of the most important episodes for Bellarke... he came up with together!!! He took the head and the heart from the fans and put it in the show!!! He wrote Clarke calling Bellamy every day for 2,199 days!!! No one forced him to do that!!! But he did, and for what??? For Clarke to shoot Bellamy in the end and kill him??? Even if he didn't want to make them canon for whatever reason, he could've still written an ending that was respectful of their friendship and history in the show. But no!!! He had to destroy everything that made Bellarke what it was. And I get angry.
I think about how Octavia spent YEARS trying to get back to Bellamy, to see him again and tell him how much she loves him... And then in the second half of season 7, she just gives up on him??? She doesn't even TRY to understand what happened to him on Etherea, she doesn't talk to him, when Bellamy visits her and Clarke she just stands there with a disappointed face and doesn't say a word. And then when Clarke tells her that she killed Bellamy, she just hugs her and tells her that she understands??? And so would the old Bellamy???? The 'old Bellamy' she didn't even TRY to get back, the 'old Bellamy' she simply gave up on??? Literally every character from Octavia to Clarke to Raven to Murphy to Miller to Echo, had to be character assassinated so that Bellamy could die the way he did. Because none of them would've given up on him!!! They all loved Bellamy!!! He was the 'dad' of the deliquents and then the leader of Skaikru on the ring. But suddenly nobody cares about him, nobody tries to understand what happened to him or tries to change his mind, not even his SISTER!!! AND I GET ANGRY.
I think about how the message of season 3 was that 'pain means that you're alive' and 'you don't ease pain, you overcome it', and how it is better to live in an imperfect world than a perfect simulation. And then in season 7 there's Transcendence which is basically the City of Light 2.0, an immortal hive mind where there's no pain and no death. Just "peace" for eternity. But suddenly THIS hive mind is okay... because? Because the Judge and the other aliens (putting aside how ridiculous it is to introduce ALIENS in your show in the very last episode) are fair while A.L.I.E wasn't? There's nothing 'fair' about deciding which species is worthy of Transcendence and which isn't. Especially since the punishment for not passing the test is MASS GENOCIDE. And yet the Judge is portrayed as 'good' and 'fair' while A.L.I.E. was the one actually trying to ensure the survival of the human race!!! And don't get me wrong, A.L.I.E. was evil but in her methods, her motivs were actually morally sound compared to the Judge and the rest of the aliens. They only did what they did because they believed that they were morally superior to all other species, and if one species wasn't 'good' enough according to their moral standards, that meant that they deserved extinction!!!! "But at least with Transcendence you can choose whether you want to transcend or not, A.L.I.E. didn't give you a choice" bullshit!!! If you "choose" not to transcend, the aliens still take away your chance to procreate and have kids from you!!! They make you infirtile against your will!!! Your species still dies with you and your friends!!!! Why? Because some aliens said so!!! And that's supposed to be an happy ending??? Just because all the characters are smiling and hugging, it doesn't make this ending any less horrific once you think about it for like two seconds. And I get angry.
And finally I think about how the entire message of the show was NOT survival like Jason claims, but how 'life should be more than just surviving'. How 'life can be more than impossible choices and a tragic end'. How humans can 'be the good guys' and break the cycle of war and violence and tribalism. And in the end none of that mattered. Humans kept fighting each other up until the last episode and only stopped because they were being 'tested'. They got absorbed into a hive mind and they're going to be stuck there for all eternity, no lesson learned, no real peace gained. Our main characters, that we've followed for seven seasons, are going to eventually die, leaving nothing or no one behind. All the sacrifices, all the impossible choices they've made... completely meaningless, since the 'survival' of the human race was never up to them building a better world and society after all, it was always up to the morally superior aliens. I think about how they got to survive, but they didn't get to live. And I get angry... because I really loved this show and these characters so much... and they just... they deserved better. They really did.

i have been revisiting a bunch of bellarke fan videos from season 6 and wow that season was LOUD. of course bellarke is loud in every season, but season 6 is the first one where it would have made actual sense for them to get together in the finale (or at the very least by the premiere of the following season). think about it. in the season 1 finale, it's just too early and also, there was a lot of shit going on and bellarke were separated and there was the finn of it all. in the season 2 finale...after finn and lexa and the GENOCIDE....yeah i think that would have been too much. in the season 3 finale, lexa was too fresh (with the way they went about writing that story). in the season 4 finale, okay i could have seen them realistically getting together here and then being ripped apart. that's the only other time other than season 6 that i see it making sense. in the season 5 finale, it feels too soon. but by the season 6 finale?? my GOD they have always been the center of the show, but season 6 took that to a whole new level along with the romantic development. it's just WILD. in my head after the season 6 finale, the only thing that makes sense is them getting together. whereas with every other season, it makes sense why they're not together yet. of course they could have made slight changes to the story and had them get together sooner and i would have been ALLL about it, but with season 6, there are no deviations required. from start to end, that season was constructed with the goal of them getting together, and that makes season 7 all the more jarring.

Wait can we agree the cameos is a 2 part problem? On one hand and I think you mentioned Bellarke one time? They did a joint one after. Did they make a little money sure. But it was mostly about validating the fandom. Did LFJR make money yes . But what he was probably trying to do was build a fandom to bring along with him. Unfortunately he built a tiny cult that backfired on him.
Look, the key difference between Bob and Elisa's cameo and Lou's is the fact that they were giving info about the show after it ended. It didn't affect the show or the overall experience of watching the 100 because the show was over. They just gave us additional context that ended up validating theories we had and that Jason threw the story out the window for the final season. And Bob and Elisa were arguably, by all intents and purposes, the main characters of the show so they were discussing characters they developed and played for over 6 years. Lou's cameos are a guest star getting paid to headcanon with the fandom because he saw an opening to make money and build a following. And now that fandom uses his words as canon when it was literally just him repeating what the prompt they have him said. He has no creative power but he was using that to try and get ahead. It's insane.

I cannot for the life of me understand why the writers are still dragging the Claire storyline out. If we, the audience, are supposed to feel as anguished as Carmy is over losing her, I think the writers really failed. I really didn't see that their connection was so deep that Carmy would be this distressed over their breakup - even if it was due to something insensitive he may have said. Having multiple characters continue to push him to rectify his relationship with Claire feels so forced, as well. If their relationship was something that I truly believed could be lasting, then I could probably connect to that emotional tension, but I had thought the entire purpose of his S2 storyline was that a step towards Claire was a step away from fulfilling his responsibilities to Sydney and their restaurant. His relationship with Claire was in direct conflict with his relationship with Syd, and he continually let her down until he finally realized he was letting himself be pulled in two different directions. His making amends with Claire should've been finished in the first few episodes - she's not a main character (she's not even a character who's developed outside of Carmy's POV), and I'm pretty sure she had more screentime than Marcus. These writers cannot write a manic pixie dream girl and expect audiences to actually believe in the strength of her relationship with the lead so much that they root for them. (I also still don't understand how Claire is supposed to have all this free time when she's a hospital resident)
If the goal was to sow this division between Sydney and Carmy, which will force them both to seriously examine their relationship next season, I get it and that can be fine. That's also sort of what happened in S2 already, but they can still further develop that idea in a meaningful way. I'm gonna be honest, I'm here for the writers to pair up Sydney and Luca for a time as a plot device ship. They have excellent chemistry, and I would love to see Sydney exploring a new relationship until Carmy figures his stuff out. It can be reinforce the strength and importance of Sydcarmy's relationship to each other.
Just to warn you all, though, Sydcarmy could either be headed the Rina route (Ricky and Gina from HSMTMTS) with a planned slowburn executed beautifully, or this could end up being a Bellarke situation (Bellamy and Clarke from The 100) where the writers have a vendetta against the romantic pairing, despite obvious romantic undertones. Whichever one happens is anyone's guess, at this point

I Feel Like...
I feel like I keep getting taken for a ride when I get invested in a tv show and a ship on the show. I feel like I keep getting led on, only for it to actually amount to nothing.
Examples: The Magicians led Queliot fans on. Once Q was brought onto the show, they showed right off the bat that Q and Eliot had a connection that was deeper than them just being best friends. But yet for some reason, the show kept having to insert women between the two of them. Alice was always brought in to make Quentin feel like he \had\ to have feelings for her instead of Eliot, or like something was wrong with him because he didn't actually want Alice, but wanted Eliot. In the episode (s) where Q and Eliot have sex, Margo is shoehorned in because apparently it's not okay for two men to be friends and then fall in love with each other, because no, that's not a thing, and Q's actually in love with Alice, and Eliot's just a player who doesn't care about anyone but best friend Margo and getting his dick sucked. Or, how about the fact that by the time both Q and Eliot realize they love each other, Eliot's taken over by a monster, and Q gets killed saving him? Because you know what? It's SUCH a better love story for Q and Eliot, that Q died to save Eliot, instead of, you know, actually having him live, them both live, and getting to be together happy and in love. The 100 led Bellarke fans on by constantly making it seem like Bellamy and Clarke loved each other and would eventually overcome everything and get together. Only to turn Bellamy against everyone and have Clarke kill him in the end for the shock factor. I hate that so much.
FBI on CBS: On the show, ZiBell is said to be just partners, friends, and co-workers, but that's not what's actually shown. They treat each other like a romantic partner, not just a really close friend they work with.
9-1-1 with Tevan. They start building a relationship between what's considered the fandom golden boy, and a man who has had a hard life and a terrible past with racism, homophobia, and all kinds of horrible stuff, and show that he's changed and the times have somewhat changed. They have them meet, show an attraction to each other, show a few random scenes of just them, and the golden boy's best friend, but don't really show the love interest interacting with old friends and co-workers, or even his own friends and family. They make it look nice, they make the golden boy actually seem human and not just like a fuckboy who's only interested in a warm body. All to just throw it away by claiming the older man's insecurities are too much for them to have a relationship. I get that OS didn't want it, but if he hated it that much, they shouldn't have developed it at all. Should've just had Buck make a few comments about how hot he thought Tommy was, but then say that while he was coming to terms with his attraction to men, that he wasn't ready to date anyone. That would've been nicer, and kept fans from getting invested in BuckTommy.
BTVS with Tillow. Willow discovers her bisexuality, falls in love with a woman and gets, what, a year, maybe two, with Tara, and then Tara's killed off just to further Willow's plot for a handful of episodes, makes Willow a killer, has her grieve for 5 minutes and then moves on.

So Nick is in The Testaments book too? I'm glad they reunite I hope he has a good relationship with Hannah and Holly now I do want to read that book. LOL yes I don't think they have a plan look at how they "planned" this season they couldn't even make Nick look bad everyone with a brain was like this doesn't make any sense they're trying to rewrite history we know more about the show then they do.
Oh no you're making me think of Bellarke again I remember Jason was mad at him for taking time off for mental health so he rewrote his parts of the season I think originally they were endgame not sure though. I also remember he got Clarke with Lexa so we couldn't be mad about them not getting together or we would be homophobic but a lot of the Bellarke fans were queer lmao Clarke was in love with Bellamy back then too it's why she didn't want to risk his life so I never bought any of the other relationships she had season 2+.
I need to read The 100 books I've never had a chance to Bellamy is her only love interest in the books right? I think it was said that him and Wells were actually brothers there that's all I know which would be something I would've want to see in the show think of the complexities of having to shoot your father but you didn't know he was your dad. Bellamy was always my favorite character and I always loved his relationship with Clarke I liked the last good season of the show where Bellamy was doing everything to save her it showed how much he loved her damn now I want to rewatch the show again.
well no, nick is never on page at all in the testaments (sorry if i got your hopes up!) but he is alluded to several times and it is stated in the canon narrative of the book that he reunites with holly and june. the specifics of that are ambiguous BUT clear enough to know he does survive, he is a good man in the resistance, and he does love them and reconnect with them. it is a fantastic sequel and still highly worth the read!!! (and i say that as someone who was veryyy skeptical of the sequel initially because i adore the vague ending of the first novel)
yeah s6 clearly had no gameplan. i’m just picturing a whiteboard in the writers room that says simply “gaslight!!!” lmao
tbh by the time endgame could even be realistically considered on t100, jason was already too mad at bob for bellarke to ever be a possibility but i do recall that they were told to play it romantic in s1. (i don’t remember my sources for that as i’ve tried to erase 99% of that fandom experience from my mind) and lmaoooo the cIexa of it all 🙃 as a bi woman myself, i especially loved being told all the time that i was homophobic because i preferred bellarke and NOT the ship where one person willingly left the other’s entire found family to die!
the books are definitely worth reading! imo they’re t100 as it was obviously meant to be experienced and yes the relationships between all characters are all so much better developed and interesting. (and i do believe bell was her only love interest but it has been yearsss since i did read the books so i’m not totally sure on that)

Idk if you’ve already made a list or whatnot but do you have like a top 10 fav ships? From any media or anything, like all time
I'm always happy to blabber about former/current hyperfixations so this question is perfect. This is in no particular order except for the first one, they will always be my #1:
kyoru (Kyo Sohma/Tohru Honda) from Fruits Basket: The 👏🏻 ship 👏🏻 ever 👏🏻 They invented love, their relationship has the perfect development and resolution, they truly love and understand each other and have such amazing character arcs both individually and together. Kyo's realization that he loves Tohru is my favorite episode in the entire show and it's constantly on repeat in the back of my mind: "She didn't erase all my pain or offer to solve all my problems. She didn't fix what was broken, but that's not what I needed anyway. What mattered most was that she stayed."
hualian (Hua Cheng/Xie Lian) from TGCF: Another couple that invented love. I sprinted through these books while season 2 was being animated and the absolute faith and trust those two have in each other is unparalleled. "What matters is you, not the state of you" has been imprinted on my brain. I cried so many times while reading these books, they were amazing, definitely one of my favorite stories ever.
mikayuu (Mika/Yuu Hyakuya) from Seraph of the End: These boys... I'm still actively reading the chapters from this manga despite having no fuckin clue what's going on with the plot all because I'm so invested in these boys. Devoted to each other since they were kids, the epitome of "I'd burn down the world to save you". Everything they do is for each other, they are always each other's first choice in everything. And we got a canon confession which is insane to me. I'll never be over them.
satosugu (Gojo Satoru/Geto Suguru) from JJK: Probably the ship that makes me the most emotional in the worst way. I'm a sucker for a good tragedy and those two fit the mold perfectly. The absolute love they have for each other even after they've split makes me so emotional. If you don't see their relationship as romantic idk what to tell you, you're just blind. Jjk 0 and the Gojo being sealed are two scenes that fuck me up each time without fail. I could rave about them for hours.
itafushi (Itadori Yuuji/Fushiguro Megumi) from JJK: The boys I'm best known for. Now, I enjoyed them as a ship from the beginning but it wasn't a true "they're everything to me" until the Itadori Extermination Arc. Yuuji's "you'll only be hurt if you're with me" and Megumi's "start by saving me" had me GAGGED. That's when I really started to pay attention and went back and became extremely invested instead of a casual enjoyer. They've always done their best to watch each other's backs and stick together. 216 fucked me up SO BAD, and everything Yuuji has done since them is to try and get Megumi back. They love each other so much, they are the parallel to stsg that will make it. I don't know how anyone can read the manga and not see how much they love each other.
bellarke (Bellamy Blake/Clarke Griffin) from The 100: This was my SHIP back in high school. I was obsessed with The 100 back in the day and these two were everything to me. Enemies to friends to lovers is my favorite dynamic, and these two fit that bill perfectly. Everything about their relationship was so perfectly set up for them to be endgame and yet the writing for the last few seasons was SO FUCKING BAD that I couldn't even watch the last season. From what I hear, they totally switched up Bellamy's character and he switched up on Clarke so quickly when he's always been her #1 supporter after they became friends. Their friendship was my favorite thing about the show, they truly were each other's right-hand man and constantly looked out for each other. Still pissed about what we could have had.
akiangel (Aki Haykawa/Angel Devil) from Chainsaw Man: Another tragic ship. I cannot wait to see these two animated together. I binge read all of Chainsaw Man (which was like 98 chapters at the time?) in two days and it rewired my brain. The staunch hatred/dislike of each other's kind out of principle to slowly realizing that they actually do care about each other was so good. They have such a subtle chemistry and relationship, it was one of my favorites in the series. Aki reaching out a hand to save Angel and them holding onto each other during the Bomb Girl Arc is probably my favorite scene in the entire manga, I can't wait for them to get their flowers once it's animated.
tododeku (Shouto Todoroki/Izuku Midoriya) from MHA: Narrative foils. What more can I say. These two have so many parallels in their arcs and have such a great relationship. Idk how this ship isn't more popular with how healthy their relationship is and how it started off with such strife. Deku also means so much to Todoroki and you can see that throughout the entire series that their friendship means the world to him. They give each other such a good support system, I adore them.
bokuaka (Bokuto Koutarou/Akaashi Keiji) from Haikyuu: Simp behavior, the both of them. You don't really see it initially, but these two are obsessed with each other. The Fukurodani v Mujinazaka game was so incredible for diving into their characters and relationship more! Finding out that Akaashi only came to Fukurodani because he saw a cute jock play ONE game was so funny because you don't expect him to be a love at first sight character in the slightest. He and Bokuto work so well together, they balance each other out and understand each other on such a deep level, you can't convince me they aren't in love. They bring out the best in each other and know how to get the other out of their head.
zelink (Princess Zelda/Link) from Legend of Zelda: This is specifically going to be focused on botw/totk zelink because those are the games where their relationship is explored the most, but MY GOD. Those two make me weak. Link is just this autistic/selectively mute dude who's just trying to do his job and Zelda is so jealous of his freedom and ease of being able to do his assigned role without trouble that seeing the development of their friendship/relationship through the memories was my favorite part of the game. Their bond is so strong, they truly become each other's biggest link in the chain of their support system. Totk in particular made me cry multiple times because of the tragedy of realizing what happened to Zelda that imagining what Link must be feeling upon the discovery fucks me up. They never stop fighting to protect each other and never lose faith in each other.

fic asks
Thanks to @septemberrie for tagging me!
How many works do you have on ao3? 7
What’s your total ao3 word count? 30.187
What fandoms do you write for? Just Fate: the Winx Saga at the moment.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
You haven't told me anything (that I didn't already know)
You found me dressed in black (hiding way up at the back)
Let’s put some light into our lives (but keep the storm that’s in your eyes)
The dead of the winter of my life (in the middle of the summertime)
It’s only war if there’s a winner (it’s only hell if there’s a sinner)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I do. Because yes, I write for me, but if I didn't I want the engagement with people who like the same thing as me, I wouldn't have to post my stories. I like thanking the people who take time to leave a comment, because it's not common and it's gotten less and less since the show got canceled.
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? It's only war if there's a winner, I'd say.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hmm...toss up between You haven’t told me anything and I won’t let my demons win? I haven't really written overtly happy endings, just 'we're in a decent place right now' endings.
Do you get hate on fics? I haven't, no.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Not so far. I don't think I will ever write fully explicit content, but I might dabble into something a bit more suggestive at one point, who knows?
Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? No. They're usually not my jam, because I'm canon compliant to a fault.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Stolen as in someone else claimed to have written it, no. Not that I know of.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, but without my permission and I believe it's since been taken down. I prefer to keep my works in English because that's the only way I have some control over how my words and ideas are interpreted.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? I have not, but I did collaborate with @rivusa for the Fate Reverse Big Bang this year! I'm not saying no to co-writing something in the future, but I am very particular about my writing and the things I like and dislike, so it would have to be the right match.
What’s your all-time favorite ship? The first one that comes to mind is Bellarke, which is funny because I was never really in the The 100 fandom or created any content for them, but God, their scenes just hit so hard. It's also definitely the ship I'm most disappointed about in terms of how it was handled in canon (that's some bullshit, man).
What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? I pretty much write one thing at a time and then post, so while I have a document of snippets that I may or may not use at some point, I don't really have any abandoned WIPs that were ever intended for posting. I guess I would have to say a plot I was developing for an original novel at some point that I barely wrote anything for but do still like the idea of. I'm not suited to longer stories, though, so I don't think I'll ever write a book.
What are your writing strengths? Dialogue is the one I feel confident enough in to throw out there. And maybe subtle intimacy? Like, establishing emotional connection through small developments. So the really slow slow burn, I guess.
What are your writing weaknesses? I don't think I'm very good at composition. I do have a full picture in my mind of what scenes look like, but I'm usually so focused on the dialogue and the impact of it on the characters that it takes me significant effort to go back and describe things like movement and setting. Oh, and @septemberrie (love you😘) consistently tells me to add more internal monologue in at least one spot in my fics.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Fine by me, but if it's an existing language, I think it's a writer's responsibility to make sure it's correct. So if I didn't speak the language fluently, I'd always ask a native for a check.
First fandom you wrote for? CSI:Miami
Favorite fic you’ve written? I'm torn between two, but I think based on the fact that it's the fic that got me to share some of my writing for the first time in 10 years, I'm gonna have to go with You haven’t told me anything.
Tagging @medusanova, @leadingrebel and @amchara if they want to, but anyone else feel free!

And If I say that season 3 is when it all went wrong.
Imagine me, 9 years ago, post season 2 hiatus.
My 16 year old self has just witnessed the best season finale in an American show she has seen thus far in her life.
The blarke/c//exa talks were failing but we were still not in an onward toxic twitter war yet.
The hype building around the show? Through the roof. Media outlets posting thinkpieces about the mount weather genocide.
Stephen King mentions the 100 in a tweet.
SDCC 2015 panel? Awesome. Cast chemistry? Jumped out. Visibly proud to be a part of the project.
My expectations? I was ready to have my mind blown.
The hook with the City of Light as this residence with a nuke inside? Intriguing.
Imagine all that to get *checks notes* virtual reality Vancouver
Found family of characters that I fell in love with? Thrown all over the place in separate storylines and/or antagonistic towards each other for 85% of the season (this wouldn’t be such an issue in hindsight if season 4 wasn’t so goddamn depressing with a ticking clock storyline)
The two main leads being at odds AND separated for TEN episodes in a 16 episode season.
Sorry that’s not my shipper goggles, that is truly a narrative issue.
Clarke playing second fiddle in a storyline that already feels like a B plot in her OWN goddamn show.
Bellamy’s storyline was absolutely in character for him and I will die on this hill but we should have gotten a different edit. The narrative as it is INSISTS that Mr holier-than-thou and Miss It’s not a phase I’m a grounderrrr are objectively in the right, in a show that prides itself on exploring moral relativity.
Sudden gaslight of ME as an audience member that Azgedans are the Evil grounders and all the other clans are acshtually definitely not hostile and just want to sing in a circle with everybody and get along :3
Trikru never waged war with a full ass army on a group of less than 90 at that point young people who were winging it as their went. They never hunted them down with spears. They never used bio weapons (looking at you Indra) They never jumped straight to threatening to wipe them out the minute the Arcadian’s did not immediately bow down to their command. They never utterly betrayed them after Bellarke and friends defeated their long-time boogymen. They do not hold children killing tournaments. No sir, they are so morally superior to our protagonists, don’t think about it.
I could go on. And on. And on.
and there ARE aspects of season 3 that I really like.
Hakeldama?!! Need I say anything? Tastes in romance development were changed.
Raven and Jasper friendship
Nevermore
Murphy and Bellamy team up
Actors were mostly super attractive.
Okay I gotta do a special shout out for episode 8 Bellamy, taste in men were changed.
I liked Luna
That shitty joke about doing that upside down
Hand holding uwu
Interactions between Roan, Clarke, and Bellamy
Roan although I think I’m not that crazy about him as some

People sleep better with something by their side to hold on to. Well… Bellamy is also just a person, who maybe needs something to hold on to during the night… And Clarke may just have the idea to help him with that!
Nightmares and trauma are daily bread on the ground, and both Clarke and Bellamy need to learn how to cope with them.

I decided to rewatch The 100 because I gave up on finding substitute and ended up watching four episodes in one go. And it's just so good. I wept like 5 times during the pilot episode just because I kinda knew it by heart while only watching it maybe 2 or 3 times before. Nowadays I can't watch anything without getting on my phone after some time, but with The 100 I completely forgot that the outside word existed. I wished any other show could make me feel that way.
We have great characters, amazing writing, moral dilemmas and grey morality. I love how each character just makes sense, that I can understand each of their reasoning, I love that they fuck up and do straight up bad things and how they develop. I know it's all gonna be ruined in the last seasons, but the first ones are just so good.
And don't even get me started on Bellarke. NO ONE does it like them. I miss good slow burns, I really can't find a ship that would make me feel the way they made me feel.
I just really miss the 100 and all the things it could have been.

it's so tragic funny that while i was watching t100, jroth was so adamant that there was nothing romantic there with bellarke, that it literally made me doubt what was very clearly being written as romantic (and it actually was. like, we know this now. it has been confirmed).
looking back, bellarke could have kissed at so many different points in the show, without changing anything else but having them kiss, and it would have made perfect sense. it would have flowed. it would have aligned with their relationship development.
just think about it. 1x09. unity day. is this a bit early? yes. but do they have the chemistry? yes. and have they had sufficient build up for two characters to have their first kiss? yes. honestly more than a lot of ships that happen in the first season of their show. especially since day trip just happened! plus, the flirting during unity day was...not subtle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
listen...she wanted to kiss him here so bad. seriously though. clarke could have and that would have been a very natural progression of this scene. it would have especially fit the early drop ship days vibe.
(or you could add in a scene where clarke finds him later, now sufficiently buzzed, they flirt some more, then she kisses him, and bellamy's like, "woah, woah, princess, what are you doing?" but he's smiling and she just shrugs with a smile and goes in to kiss him again, saying "having fun", and bellamy says, "you're drunk" and clarke is exasperated saying, "well you told me to!" and bellamy laughs, very amused, and from the look in his eyes, you can tell that he is also very very VERY smitten.)
if you still think that's too soon, yeah, i tend to agree. i love the idea of s1 bellarke in fanfic, but for the show, i prefer a bit more of slowburn. so let's push it to season 2. no, that's not a true slowburn, but still, you had to wait a little for it, and a lot of shows do this successfully. so anyway. 2x05. post iconic reunion hug, shot in a very romantic way i might add.
Tumblr media
bellamy is watching clarke sleep by the fire, she wakes, we have some platonic gazing with firelight flickering across their faces...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
we all know how the scene goes. he reassures her. he confides in her. she reassures him back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i'm sorry, but the way they are looking at each other here? dude, if they had been sitting any closer, they could have kissed. i tend to think it would be more in character for clarke to initiate a first kiss with bellamy in s1-4, but in this scene, i 100% could see bellamy going in to kiss her after this.
(and yes, i'm aware that octavia was pretending to be asleep this whole time, but honestly, her reaction to them would have added some much needed levity to the situation. octavia is a bellarke shipper, after all. also, some people might say that this would make clarke's "i love you" to finn less believable, but i disagree. you can have feelings for two people at the same time. i mean, she literally kisses lxa very quickly after finn's death sooo yeah...plus, it would have made the bellarke angst of s2b/3 even better.)
maybe you still want more of a slowburn though, and that is perfectly fair, which brings me to s3, which in my opinion would have been one of the best seasons for canon bellarke. alright. 3x05. hakeldama yup! it was prime time for a first kiss. i mean, all the build up of s1/2 obviously, but also...this had just happened:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
but anyway...back to hakeldama. this is the peak of their angst. nothing tops it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but then, after the heat of the moment, the softness comes in. as it always does with these two. they wind up sharing the softest, most romantic scene in this entire show (fight me).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
that last gif, man...at this point, i think they would both go in for the kiss. mutually initiated. god, it would have fit the scene so well!
(some people might say that this would invalidate clarke's love for lxa, considering everything that happens two eps later, but again, i disagree. like i said before, you can have feelings for two people at the same time. people might also say that this would undermine bellamy's relationship with gina, but you know what? the whole fucking narrative undermined that relationship, so i really don't care. i loved gina, but if clarke can kiss lxa right after finn's death, then bellamy can kiss clarke right after gina's death. this show is messy, okay? and bellarke are messy as fuckkkk.)
still think it would be too early? okay. season 4 then. very recently, i realized how easy making bellarke canon in s4 would have been, holyyyy. starting off in 4x03. bellamy is sleeping on the couch and clarke watches him sleep with the softest smile on her face (i'm still crying about this btw). i can't find the right gif, but you all know the smile! then clarke is struggling so bellamy wakes up and is there to support her, making a declaration that has romantic undertones, it just does!
Tumblr media
and then clarke lowkey makes a move on him lmao. for real though?? what was this???
Tumblr media
i would only change one thing here. he takes a seat beside her first and then puts his hand on her shoulder. so that way they are eye level (aka kissing level).
when she lifts her head off their hands, their faces would be so close. maybe bellamy would tuck a lock of hair behind her ear, not realizing how intimate that kind of thing is until he does it. i could see them kissing here. clarke would initiate. although, i think it would be so much better if it was just an almost kiss. bellamy tells her she should get some sleep right before it happens.
and then in 4x06...
Tumblr media
it's actually so funny how she says that and then she's like 'oh no. that sounded like it implied something. i did not mean to imply.'
Tumblr media
and bellamy's over here like 'omg she's implying.'
Tumblr media
which leads to him literally about to confess. i'm sorry, but there is no other way to interpret....
Tumblr media
and of course clarke interrupts, but this is the moment, you guys! this could have been the moment.
Tumblr media
right after this, before roan's interruption, there's a pause, and then clarke kisses him. it's a quick one. the kind of kiss where she has both of her hands on his face and he's so stunned by it that his eyebrows raise in surprise and before he can even process that it's happened, she's pulled back and they're looking at each other, a bit in awe, both surprised that she just did that.
then in 4x09, we actually get to see the reunion!! and it's the running kind. just like 2x05. only this time, after they run to each other and hug, bellamy pulls back and takes her face in his hands to examine her for injuries, and once he realizes she's okay, probably after she reassures him and puts a hand on his face, then he kisses her, but they both go in for it (and i cry).
in 4x13, i would change the location of the head and heart scene. somewhere more private...a bedroom (!). so, after this moment:
Tumblr media
and bellamy turns away, upset, clarke pulls him back to face her and takes his face in her hands. his eyes are watery. so are hers. she kisses him. one thing leads to another and we get the sex scene we deserved!! then they're lying in bed, cuddling. bellamy's head is on her chest and clarke's playing with his hair. that's when she decides to ruin the moment lmao and continues the head and heart convo with "we've been through a lot together, you and i." i can just see it so well. they would shift so that they're laying on their sides, facing one another. maybe clarke's fingers play with the hair at the nape of his neck now. when she says he has a big heart, her palm rests on his bare chest. when she says he has to use his head too, her fingers of her other hand shift from his neck to his temple. when bellamy says, "i've got you for that," clarke kisses him. their foreheads stay touching for a few breathes, then she pulls back to look at him and says that raven's premonition came true. like...am i crazy or would this have worked so well?? literally the same dialogue but...they're together.
(plus, this could have led to clarke raising bellamy's kid--august--along with madi over those six years they are separated, i'm just saying!)
maybe you still think that season 5 was the ultimate time for bellarke to go canon, and you know what? i honestly might just agree. the set up was there with clarke calling bellamy every day for 2,199 days. the potential was there. madi was the biggest bellarke shipper i swear. she wanted them to be together even more than all of us combined i think. for a bellarke kiss though, you would almost have to drastically change the course of events...unless you go with 5x13 and blecho have broken up earlier in the season. after clarke wakes bellamy from cryo (still crying about this moment, yeah!), i could see them having a moment.
Tumblr media
before jordan walks in, maybe clarke helps bellamy out of the pod, and once they're both standing, bellamy would finally make his move. instead of bellamy asking why they're the only ones there, clarke does. bellamy tells her, "we'll figure it out, clarke, but first, i have something i wanna say." maybe he does something soft, like take her hand or brush her hair behind her ear. clarke is staring at him, not quite believing what is happening right now, but deep down, she knows. he tells her, "those six years without you were the worst of my life and i don't wanna waste any more time." clarke is wearing a watery smile, still not quite sure she believes what she's hearing. she tells him, "i radioed you every day you were gone." bellamy's whole face lights up and he tells her, "i know." their foreheads touch. both of his hands are cradling her cheeks, her hands are cradling his wrists. she whispers his name. it's the kind of kiss where the time before the kiss is excruciatingly long, but once they kiss, it becomes much more urgent as they finally give in to all of the feelings. god. would have been ICONIC.
plus, they both looked absolutely gorgeous in this scene. hello???
Tumblr media
would have been one hell of an aesthetically pleasing first kiss holyyyy. then jordan interrupts and makes some comment about how his mom and dad were right all along :)
if not season 5 though...moving onto season 6. 6x10 to be exact. i know i've said that other times were the ultimate time for canon bellarke, but this episode is too! or right after it in 6x11. there are two scenarios that i see playing out here. (in both, blecho have broken up previously.)
in the first scenario, it's 6x10. as soon as bellamy saves clarke and she wakes up, instead of going in to hug him, i swear when i was watching it that i really thought she was going in for the kiss. that was the one and only time where i legitimately thought they were about to kiss while watching. it had never made more sense than in that moment. even with all of jroth's attempted brainwashing, my mind was stronger in that moment. it saw it coming. or at least i thought i did lmao. i know they didn't actually kiss.
but listen.
they really should have.
clarke is literally looking at him like this:
Tumblr media
come on, man.
i usually say that bellamy should be the one initiating post s4, but in this moment, it would have been clarke.
and if not then, the other scenario is that they hug as usual. clarke gets some rest as usual. but when she wakes up in 6x11 and bellamy is at her side, they are in a separate private tent. they have that same conversation that they do. they argue about clarke risking her life again. but then...
Tumblr media
he tells her, "hey, i just got you back." he says it firm but soft. i see bellamy initiating the kiss here, especially since he's almost lost her twice now, but once clarke realizes that this is really happening, that after all this time he wants her just as much as she wants him, she would for sure be the one initiating everything else. she would be sitting in his lap making out with him so fast jfsldkjfaslk and you know what? good for her!! they either just kiss a lot here, laying down on the bed, all tangled up together, and then they're interrupted, or maybe, just for once, they're allowed to be happy, uninterrupted, and they sleep together. either way. natural progression.
that's really the point of this longwinded post. so many times it could have happened. all of them a nature progression of the story that was being told.
then comes season 7...
there are no words.
6x13 left them off in a perfect place...
Tumblr media
the set up was literally right there! they should have kissed in 7x01!! they should have lived happily ever after with madi in a seaside cabin situated in a field of gold!!
