(betterdays spoilers ment) gasp!! yes i'd been using the website for reference after finishing the first time! i'd actually been wondering about deku, esp after timeline 4 where katsuki's parents are wary about him and katsuki being isolated from everyone. having all versions of deku be true is fascinating, esp with timeline 1 having him hide all of this yet being the Truth timeline...! it's almost heartbreaking that we know so much from jumping around but katsuki will never know everything.

i reread timeline 2 and god it's terrifying that after everything they're literally the only 2 humans left. when katsuki gets his memories back (i assume he does at some point?) how does he feels about deku? i can't imagine things going back to how they were before even with the knowledge. was so excited to read your response, thanks again !!

AAH I can’t remember if Katsuki’s parents explain, but it’s because Deku distanced Katsuki from them/took up all of Katsuki’s time so most of the time they just got phone calls from Katsuki on holidays and that’s it. SO ITS A COMBINATION OF THAT and Katsuki’s subconscious concerns bleeding into the NPCs around him.

What you said about Katsuki never knowing everything HAS ME SHOOKENING. ITS SO TRUE.

There’s like one timeline where Deku doesn’t kill everyone in the spaceship and I think it’s the ones where Katsuki doesn’t “give in” to Deku as much. Cuz Timeline 2 you play right into Deku’s grubby little hands muahahaha and now he’s GREEDY and doesn’t want ANYONE ELSE to have Katsuki so he diverts all power from Mina, Kirishima, and Todoroki’s cells to keep Katsuki’s simulation going (effectively killing them).

If the others stay alive longer (I.e. Deku hasn’t gotten a TASTE FOR KATSUKI’S FLESH) then more power gets used, Todoroki gets booted out of his simulation to save on power (not unlike what happened to Deku) and TODOROKI FIGURES OUT REAL QUICK THAT DEKU’S FUCKING WITH KATSUKI’S SIMULATION. DEKU KILLS HIM.

And so basically Katsuki ends up finding evidence of the MURDER and that’s how he wises up in the super fake Deku timelines where Deku’s acting his ASS off (but not before a WHIRLWIND ROMANCE OF COURSE 😏)

HOW COME NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT THIS? “Betterdays” by Kornspiracy.

So, hold on tight because this is about to be wild. I’ve never seen anything like this before or read anything like it. I first discovered this on AO3 (linked) and when I realized the author was trying to tie a story together by picking and choosing paths for the character…. i was shocked! It reminds me of that Netflix show where any choice you make effects the outcome. SO, this brings us to this link to the itch.io interactive bakudeku fic. Literally something Ive never ever experienced. As far as I am aware it is currently ongoing too, but has not been updated in a year I believe. However, with 200k+ words of content it’s a beast and plenty to keep you entertained. I will admit when I first read this I struggled to understand where the author was going with it and tried to gather what the timelines were, but the author includes “instructions” and sort of an explanation for it as well. I personally read through an entire timeline start to finish (or up to the point of updated) and then went back and forth through each option to figure out all the various timelines and what happened. It’s amazing how each one intersects and makes a different story depending on how you navigate Katsuki’s character. GO GIVE IT A TRY! Also it reminds me of Wall-e lol. If you find yourself stuck or confused dm me and i’ll be happy to explain best I can too (I have spent hours and hours combing through it all). Enjoy <3

wait hahaha it wasn't me (betterdays anon (lol??)) on your story but i loved seeing the admin log, i didn't look at version status at all during my read and just did peeks at the menu to look at stability! and ahh i had also been wondering about the silhouette that appears--it's him on the outside looking into the simulation oh my god...! i had assumed it was some sort of weird simulation glitch/time thing before

the ending with katsuki having to choose between todoroki and deku is so bonkers i love it... what a heavy choice to have to make. actually, where is todoroki in katsuki's simulation? is he away because of deku's meddling or just not around? i hope it's okay to ask haha. otherwise, i'm glad that kirishima and mina survive most of the time, i really loved kiri in all timelines i think he was a wonderful character 😭

I LOVE THAT IDEA WHERE DEKU EXILES TODOROKI FROM KATSUKI’S LIFE ☠️ I was also reminded through all of this that like… Deku fucking around with Katsuki’s sim is the REASON his memory backup failed. Like Deku blocked him from re-accessing his old memories and so when Todoroki comes to he’s obviously gonna be like “yo Bakugou doesn’t remember a thing about the ship does he ISNT THAT WEIRD?” And Deku’s like 😶🤥

ALSO??? I had another thought. If I ever got around to finishing betterdays I would make Deku’s POV an option from the beginning BECAUSE after this sequence in Katsuki’s POV on the ship, we’ll get another throwback to DEKU FIRST WAKING UP and the decisions Deku (you) make with Katsuki in Katsuki’s simulation dictates the Katsuki route you end up on. But you go into Katsuki’s route knowing everything from Deku’s POV if that makes sense. WOULDNT THAT BE WILD?? Like to start betterdays with that one long Deku POV and OPE. ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU’RE MAKING DECISIONS ABOUT KATSUKI’S LIFE AND WE’RE LOSING OUR MINDS WITH DEKU and then OPE. YOU’RE IN KATSUKI’S POV. You try to pick something else whenever you’re given a decision. THE SIM GLITCHES OUT AND YOU’RE SPAT RIGHT BACK TO THE PRECIOUS AUTOSAVE UNTIL YOU PICK WHAT DEKU PICKED FOR YOU.
